8. Reduce Labor Pain Naturally by Supporting Physiologic Birth
What even is a physiologic birth and why should you know about it?
Physiologic birth involves minimal medical interventions and encourages the body's natural processes during labor and delivery. It’s all about allowing mom to move freely, use breathing and relaxation techniques, and rely on her body's instincts.
This results in reduced medical interventions, shorter recovery times, improved bonding between mother and baby, and just better birth experiences. Amazing, right?!
In this episode, we’ll…
Explore the hormone cascade and how it supports natural labor pain relief…
Embrace the power of your body’s instincts during childbirth…
Discover empowering strategies for a positive birth experience…
…and much more!
Pain and emotions are interconnected in the brain. Negative emotions can worsen pain, while positive emotions can alleviate it. Finding a way to increase those positive emotions, in turn helping the cascade of natural hormones will be so helpful for your upcoming hospital birth.
So, if you’re pregnant and searching for a birth course to support your you can physiologic birth experience, join Hands-Off Hospital Birth this week only to get 50% off as a founding member! The presale closes May 28th, and this will be the lowest I ever offer it!

9. Labor Induction Tips: What to Expect During Your Labor Induction and What Choices to Prepare For
Have you ever wondered what labor induction entails and why it's important to be knowledgeable about it?
I was electively induced twice… The first time was a situation where I didn’t know it was an induction or that I had any options. I was just expected to agree to hospital admission from my prenatal appointment because I was 7cm dilated, but not actually in labor yet.
Because my first baby was almost 11 pounds, it felt like the focus of my entire pregnancy for many of my providers, was to “get me delivered” early. If I hadn’t known how to advocate for myself, I likely would have been induced early out of fear of a “big baby.”
Join me and let’s delve into the world of induction and empower you to make informed decisions about your birth experience, too!
What to expect in this episode:
A comprehensive overview of what labor induction is, its purpose, and the various options available to expectant mothers.
Demystifying the Bishop score: The secret sauce to assessing your cervical readiness!
No unnecessary inductions, please! Explore strategies and insights to help you navigate your pregnancy journey and prevent the need for an unnecessary induction.
If you choose an induction, how to make it a positive experience through practical tips and expert advice.

15. Have a Confident Hospital Birth: Your Voice and Birth Preferences Matter
It doesn't take convincing to agree that an autonomous birth is the best kind of birth, right?!
This isn’t dependent on any specific style of giving birth though. You DO NOT need to have a home birth to have an autonomous birth. You can have an autonomous birth in any setting, with any care provider. It could be any type of birth from a waterbirth at home to a planned cesarean.
It matters less about your physical location and your care provider of choice, and matters more about YOU, and what’s going on in your mind and with your body.
In this episode, we'll be talking about:
How to take control, make confident choices, and have your dream birth...
Practical steps transform your journey through motherhood…
How to make informed decisions that align with your intuition…
…and how to surround yourself with people that hype you up to crush your birth wishes

20. Pregnant and Postpartum Resources for Moms with Moms Mental Health Initiative
Have you ever struggled with anxiety or depression or are worried about what if you do develop a mental health disorder during pregnancy or postpartum? You are not alone, mama!
Today, I'm joined by Bailey Huffman from Moms Mental Health Initiative, established by two moms who faced postpartum depression and anxiety challenges, recognizing the scarcity of resources in the mental health space for pregnant and postpartum individuals. Since its inception, MMHI has grown to offer a range of supportive services.
We dive into the following:
While postpartum is often associated with the first few months after childbirth, perinatal mental health challenges can persist for much longer...
Collaborating with reputable sources to provide easily accessible resources, enabling individuals worldwide to access essential information about perinatal mental health...
Providing a safe space for moms and birthing individuals to connect and share their experiences. MMHI serves as a bridge to connect individuals with vetted therapists, prescribers, and providers for timely assistance...
Commitment to prompt, supportive, and personalized care stands out. MMHI offers a quick response time, empathetic communication, and a warm handoff to suitable resources...
Significance of educating and involving the support network surrounding pregnant and postpartum individuals.
Moms Mental Health Initiative is making a significant impact in the realm of perinatal mental health by addressing the often-overlooked challenges faced by pregnant and postpartum individuals. MMHI aims to raise awareness, provide peer support, and connect individuals with appropriate resources, offering hope and understanding in a crucial period of life. It's a reminder that addressing mental health in the perinatal phase is a shared responsibility that can ultimately lead to healthier, happier families.
