Luka wants the Mavericks to upgrade the team before the trade deadline, but with their lack of assets can they make any moves or are they better off waiting until this offseason to make a real splash? Also Marc Cuban gets mad at Tim Mcmahon over his reporting of this information. The Wizards have put Rui Hachimura on the trade block in order to clear a log jam for Kyle Kuzma at the four so they can pay him and their entire a ton of money this summer. We laughed at them for a little over this. 

During the Patreon part of the episode talked about the report that Harden really wants to play with Eric Gordon in Houston apparently so we will discuss whether we believe this new report. We also talked about the mess that is the Rockets following the John Wall podcast interview where he talked about Harden, Jalen Green and KPJ. Next we talked about Atlanta Hawks rookie AJ Griffin being the potential steal of the 2022 draft before redrafting the top five of that draft based on the rookie's careers so far. Finally we riffed on a bunch of things including who would win this weekend's NFL playoff games (including Giants vs. Eagles obviously), which pizza chain restaurant is the best, all while Sam was dying slowly during the Warriors Celtics game that the Celtics ended up winning anyway.

In this episode Bryan Toporek of Forbes, Bleacher Report and the NBA Pod returned to talk about how the Sixers can build a title team around Joel Embiid (and Tyrese Maxey of course) and why I think it feels more possible than it did before the season. We discussed Bryan's article on Maxey's ascent as the Sixers starting point guard and how that helps the Sixers have more flexibility in a potential Ben Simmons trade. We then addressed the Jerami Grant for Ben Simmons rumors and talked about the weird fit with Joel Embiid that ball dominant scoring wings like Jerami Grant and Tobias Harris create. Next we guessed the 30 players on Daryl Morey’s Ben Simmons trade list and talked about who is definitely on there, who is definitely not on there and who could MAYBE be on there. I cannot believe we are still doing this shit lmao. Lastly we touched on why we think the Sixers might be closer to contending since the Eastern conference appears to be wide open this season.

HEAT PACK GOING UP. We mostly laughed at the Miami Heat for this entire episode for their fraudulent basketball team and culture as they fall rapidly down the Eastern Conference standing. We also discussed the future of their "star" Jimmy Butler who may be forcing his way out of his fourth NBA team after trying to fight his coach. After the Heat pack session we discussed the Eastern Conference race for the one seed including some talk about the Bucks, Celtics, Nets and of course the Sixers. We then discussed who we think will come out of the Western Conference including the Suns, Grizzles, Warriors, and the Lakers fighting to keep their play-in spot lol. We finished the episode talking about the stupidity of All NBA voting and why one of Jokic or Embiid being left off first team is extremely stupid before picking our first, second and third all NBA teams. JOHN COLLINS WAS FINALLY TRADED. We reacted to the trade for both sides and talked about how this salary dump could effect the Tobias Harris trade market. Are the Sixers better off just waiting to trade Tobias instead of taking an offer now? We then discussed Naz Reid's extension with the Timberwolves and how it could lead to a Karl Anthony Towns trade in the next few weeks if they can find someone to take on his massive contract.

We reacted to all of the 2021 NBA Draft extensions as the news broke. We gave our thoughts on the extensions for the players and teams and discussed the players who were not extended. Then we re-visited a few of the 2018 - 2020 draft class extensions made before the deadline the past few years and discussed how they aged. Enjoy.

Chuck from the Chucking Darts podcast returned to discuss the Sixers wing targets with pick 23 including my favorite prospect who is falling down draft boards for some reason and even being mock drafted to the Sixers (!) in a few mock drafts ... LSU power wing Tari Eason. We discussed Tari's rise and fall on draft boards over the last year, his strengths and flaws, and why he could be the perfect upside swing for the Sixers if he is still on the board at 23. Next we discussed the late riser of this draft Jalen Williams of Santa Clara and why he could be a great fit on a contending win now team like the Sixers. Some other wing targets discussed included Christian Braun and Ochai Agbaji of Kansas, Jake Laravia of Wake Forest, Kendall Brown of Baylor, Marjon Beauchamp of the G-League Ignite, Nikola Jovic of Mega Mozzart and Chuck's favorite second round/undrafted free agent prospect sleeper Justin Lewis of Marquette. We also touched on a few other names as well. We ended the episode discussing the latest SLOP that dropped from Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report who reported that teams are trying to pry away 3&D wing and NBA nerd favorite OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors. This episode Ben Pfeifer formerly of the Prep2Pro NBA Draft Podcast joined me to talk about the ascent of second year Sixers point guard Tyrese Maxey. Ben was the one who introduced me to Maxey via his podcast in September 2020 so I wanted to get his insight on how he has improved and what his ceiling could be as a player. 

We also talked about Sixers prospects Jaden Springer, Isaiah Joe, answered some questions from the You Know Ball discord and I asked Ben about some of his favorite prospects from the 2022 NBA Draft that the Sixers could target in the mid to late first round.

The Sixers are playing the Raptors (again) which I will get into more later this week but before that we had to discuss some general things looming over the team including Thybulle's vaccination status that makes him ineligible to play in nearly half the series, why that makes the Deandre Jordan signing even more of a head scratcher, Doc's too late to adjust style that has us scrambling to figure out the backup center position and which eastern conference playoff path was better for the Sixers chances to win the conference and potentially the finals. We also touched on lineup configurations that include possibly resting Harden and Embiid at the same time? At the end of this episode we marveled at how far Joel Embiid has come in his career and all of the adversity he has faced to become the scoring champion and potential MVP of the league. Some other things we tackled included BBall Paul finally getting some run and Tobias Harris getting some love from a national takes men that he probably did not deserve. Enjoy!

Dave Early from Liberty Ballers returned to talk Sixers draft night trade. We talked about the recent trade slop that dropped from KOC that implied that the Sixers might try to move Danny Green's contract and pick number 23 for a roster upgrade on draft night. I talked about the four guys that I would keep instead of trading the pick if they fell to the Sixers at number 23 and we discussed some other draft targets who I like but I would be fine if they traded the pick instead of keeping them. Then we ran down a bunch of trades that the Sixers could try to execute on draft night. Some are realistic trades but mostly they are just dreams that I have. We discussed why they might work, why they might not and determined how realistic they are from a scale of 1-10. Including one tweet that blew my mind.
