11 Jun 2018Do your best work everyday with Todd Henry {e172}00:42:50

I was recently given the book “Die Empty” by Todd Henry. The premise of the book is about how we can make sure we do our best work everyday (without getting distracted by other urgent – but not important – tasks.) Lots of the book really spoke to the challenges I hear Wellpreneurs talk about on a weekly basis. So we invited him on the show, and now we’re having a conversation all about doing your best work, what ‘passion’ really means and how you can find it, how to focus on what’s important (rather than just urgent), and daily routines and rituals to do your best work, everyday. If you enjoy this interview, Todd has four books as well as the popular podcast, Accidental Creative.

25 Jun 2018Selling your Wellness Business with Sara Dean {e174}00:35:41

This week we’re talking about a topic that we never discussed in any of our couple of hundred episodes already published on The Wellpreneur Podcast. We’re talking about selling your business! My today’s guest is Sara Dean of Shameless Mom, and she’s actually been a guest on our show before in episode 157 to talk about running two of her businesses: a gym and a podcast that inspires guilt free moms. And Sara had a huge change in her business with selling her gym, so I really wanted to catch up with her because there are a lot of you thinking and considering the possibilities of just evolving in some other direction and passing on your wellness business to someone else because you feel like it’s time for a change. Which is why we’re starting this conversation from scratch, as when she actually got the initial idea of moving away from her gym, Sara wasn’t even sure she had a business she could sell so she found a business broker, why the process of selling took 18 months. We really dive into what’s important to consider when you think about selling your own wellness business anytime in the next 5 years. 02 Jul 2018Healthy food industry insights with Paddy Spence {e175}00:38:51

I’m just loving this season of podcast because we’re having such a diverse group of guests! Today I’m speaking with Paddy Spence, CEO of Zevia. Zevia is sugar free soda company, the first one to use stevia as sweetener in their drinks! Their founder Paddy has tons of experience in natural and organic industry and in working for companies that make natural and organic food and he decided to embark this journey of starting a soda company that didn’t have much artificial sweeteners in them. If you are interested in making a product – this interview is exactly what you need to hear! Also, Paddy has so much experience the wellness industry and I loved picking his brains about his view on the competition, how to hire and build a good team, and how to decide what to work on in your business. From the changes and trends in the natural and organic industry, to all those juicy questions about his morning routines and how he keeps himself motivated – we’re covering it all in today’s conversation, and you don’t want to miss it!

Also, it’s summertime here in London and I’m curious to know if you are taking some time off this summer? I have just came back from New Hampshire where I have spent some time with my family, but also did some retreats and workshops, loads of writing, and worked on the part of my business I have been delaying for a long time. So my advice for this summer is definitely to try and do both if you can: take at least a few days off to just reset, and then get some perspective and see if there’s anything in your work that you may have been putting off for a while and set it in motion.

09 Jul 2018Build a brand that matters with J. Nichole Smith {e176}00:40:04

This week I’m having a really deep, juicy, thought-provoking conversation about branding with my guest, an expert brand consultant J. Nichole Smith. Brand is so much more than your logo and your website color scheme, it’s a path forward that is making us feel much more aligned with our businesses, and we’re really getting into that today. From what kind of message you want to send to the world, to how you want to spend your day – all these things are being used to create your brand and your business. I know a lot of wellpreneurs who created businesses that unfortunately don’t quite feel right, and I’ve struggled with this myself for a while and you end up offering a product or a service that you don’t really like to deliver. But as solopreneurs creating businesses that we’re not absolutely wild about simply does not make sense, so we’re going to try and prevent that in today’s episode. We’re also going to talk about emotions and vulnerability and how using our own personal experiences can help us create a brand that’s really aligned with us. Nichole also offered a wide selection of items that are going to help you get started with your own branding (or review existing brand), and you can download those from the link below in the show notes.

16 Jul 2018Your Most Asked Questions about Growing Your Wellness Business {e177}00:40:54

For this week's episode I thought I'd switch it up a little bit and do something I haven't done in a really long time which is answer some of your questions! You probably noticed that when you signed up for our email list we have this really cool, yet simple thing set up: the first email that you get as an autoresponder form us is a question like "what is your biggest frustration with your business" or "what is the thing that you are working on that you'd like to have help with". And this is amazing because I get an idea about what you guys are actually interested in, what are you struggling with right now, what kind of topics do you want to be hearing about. And we track ALL of these and every once in a while we go back and see what kind of content you'd like to see published on our site. So I thought that this time I would just pull out a few questions that really jumped out at me and answer them on air! I'll give you my thoughts on these questions and also resources you can read or listen to, and learn more about that specific topic.

23 Jul 2018How to save 40 hours a month in your Wellness Business {e178}00:37:47

This week we’re talking about the effective use of your time and how you can save 40h a month in your business. My today’s guest is Abigail Hopkins, founder of That Clean Life meal planning app which in itself is a service that helps nutritionists and health coaches save time when doing meal plans for their clients. So we’re going to go through many different strategies of how you can save time in your wellness business, and not just in meal planning, but in many aspects of health coaching business. Because, and this is from my own experience, when starting out I spent most of my time working and producing content, but I wasn’t really making an impact that I wanted to in the bottom line. So the major shift for me was doubling down on what works instead of trying to do everything. We also touch on how to really ask for and receive help in your business, and as many of you are looking for good time management tips you’ll really enjoy listening this advice rich conversation I had with Abigail.

30 Jul 2018Using data to market your Wellness Business with John Ainsworth {e179}00:39:56

Today I’m speaking with data driven marketer John Ainsworth, so be ready to dive into some really fun and geeky marketing stuff with us. And don’t worry if you are just starting out, because we’re sharing some beginners tips, but if you are more advanced you are definitely going to get some actionable advice and ideas on how to improve your sales funnel. John and I first crossed paths to talk about one of his businesses called Make Sports Fun, a company in the UK that encourages inactive people to get active and engaged in sports, and I was so intrigued about that whole idea and really wanted to talk to him about it. Because it seams like a really big challenge trying to get people motivated like that, because from years of marketing experience we always start by trying to find audience that want’s to have what we’re offering and approach people that are already looking for a solution to their problem and you offer it to them. And you’ll be interested to know that as it turns out there are ways of approaching people that are not yet interested in your services, so John shares a lot of interesting strategies that you can apply in your own business because we all come up against objections, fears, and concerns people have which is why this different take on marketing is really applicable to all of us. The other thing we really dig into is metrics and using numbers in your business. I know a lot of us shy away from this and John shares today the exact data you can look for in your business and shares benchmarks he’s been seeing in good open rates and click rates in your emails, and tells us what we should be looking for in conversion on our landing pages. He also gives some simple and effective tips to build in so you can stop loosing people in your funnel, super easy to set up even if you are just starting out.

06 Aug 2018Dr. Aviva Romm on Thyroid Health and Entrepreneurship {e180}00:45:30

I have been saving a fantastic interview for you this late in the season! My this week's guest is Aviva Romm, Medical Doctor, herbalist, midwife, author of multiple books, courses and really focuses on women's and children's health. Now being that she is such an amazing wellpreneur I have known bout Aviva for a while now, but what really made me really want to have her on the podcast is when I picked up a copy of her book The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution. And having worked with my own thyroid issues a few years back, by going through it I really wished this book was available back then. So we are kicking it off today by discussing thyroid and stress, why there are so many adrenal/thyroid issues these days in general, and especially in the entrepreneurial community. Because she's a wellpreneur herself we also touch on her routines as an entrepreneur, how she's found time to build self-care and down time into her work schedule, how she keeps social media from taking over your life. What's also incredible is that Aviva and her husband run her entire business, so she's just now in the process of building a team so we talk a lot about that because what from outside looks like she has a big team running her online presence so far have been just the two of them. And it always amazes me how in fact we can make a huge impact in the world without making huge investments, but just by yourself or with a help of your friend or family member, from your computer. I know you are going to love this episode, so I welcome you to continuing the discussion about it over in our Wellpreneur community on Facebook.

13 Aug 2018Social Media and Personal Branding with Esther Jacobs {e181}00:38:20

We did it! We've reached the finale of another season of The Wellpreneur Podcast, and it's been so much fun bringing you all these diverse groups of guests talking about how you can grow your wellness business online, and create a brand and business that really fits you. I feel like one of the main themes this season has been branding and thinking beyond what you see on Instagram and copying what other people do. Instead we focused on crafting businesses and brands that fit us and our unique strengths. So to round up this set of interviews I really wanted to do an interview with Esther Jacobs, a truly inspiring digital nomad who calls herself 'the no excuses lady'. We met at a conference in Bangkok where I was really amazed with how she created this business that totally fits her and what she loves to do instead of focusing on a specific niche, which allowed her to create products and services in a variety of areas all around no excuses. She is one of the most 'can do' positive people that I know, and has a unique ability to bring in not just the sense of WOW in people, but inspire concrete ideas of what you can really do to get started on some project. I know you'll just love hearing story of how she got started with her business and personal brand, and what you should be thinking about when figuring out how to position your business. We're talking about how to bring your strengths into your business and just work in a way that feels natural and fun, how to not get stuck in a small niche, and you'll also hear tons of valuable tips on growing your tribe and social media strategy. What I also find interesting lately is asking established online entrepreneurs what would they be doing f they were just starting out their online career, so Esther and I have a great conversation around that today. I feel like this interview is such a strong way to finish out our season and leave you with some good food for thought about how your business fits YOU. Because the reason why so many of us wanted to start our own businesses is this possibility of creating something we can do with the flow, something that feels easy and natural, and I believe this interview will help you move more towards that direction if you got lost somewhere along the way. Because we don't want to feel like we're struggling, we want to make impact in the world by doing something that we love, and even if we do work a lot - we want to do it in a fun, passionate way!

15 Oct 2018Creating Freedom and Flexibility in Business and Life {e182}00:35:46

Welcome back to the first episode of the Season 4 of The Wellpreneur Podcast! Hope you had a nice season break and had a chance to catch up on some of the previous episodes you may have missed. I recently gave a talk at the first ever UK Health Coaches Association Conference about Freedom and Flexibility in your health and wellness business, and it really resonated with wellpreneurs so I wanted to kick off this new season with offering some ideas and advice today with all of you listening about how you can make some more freedom and flexibility in your own lives and businesses. I'm all about freedom and flexibility, and that's how I intentionally designed by business and my life, so if you are aspiring towards that you are really going to enjoy today's episode. And because being more free and flexible means something different to each one of us, I'll be talking about shifting your perception towards what it means to you and how you can take actions towards designing your life and business towards your own goals. So tune in! :)

And I know there's a lot of new listeners out there because in the meanwhile we became available on Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and most recently Spotify - and a lot of you don't know yet that there's another awesome way to connect with us and the rest of the wellness community alongside listening to the show and that's by joining our Wellpreneur Community on Facebook that already counts over 4,000 health and wellness industry experts. As I often record the episodes from my apartment in London, sometimes it's easy to forget how inspiring the show and the community have been to so many people and how this can actually impact your life. I had an experience recently just a couple of weeks ago where I spoke at the first ever UK Health Coaches Association Conference (and I rarely go to speaking events) and I met a lot of listeners, and signed tons of books which made me realize just how much they impacted someone's life and career and I was so happy to connect with other wellpreneurs. Being location independent and having the ability to work from home or anywhere is wonderful, but I also really recommend getting out there and meeting your people and your peers in person too. In fact I plan on taking my own advice and do more events in 2019 at various locations, and I already lined up a few in the next couple of months so I'd love to meet all of you who can join me!

22 Oct 2018Wellness Industry Trends with Lauren Armes {e183}00:33:06

This week I'm very excited to have Lauren Armes, founder of Welltodo Global on the podcast again! Lauren joined us first time on the podcast way back in episode 72 when her business was really focused around local London market and serving the wellness community here. And since then so much has changed! Her business expanded global, she's got in person events at different locations around the world along with the ones locally, she's doing consultancy and coaching and works with a lot of partnerships and it's really amazing what she's created in the past couple of years. I think you are really going to getting this updated glimpse into her business journey, but also getting Lauren's take on what's working in the wellness industry today. And don't forget that if you want to talk about this weeks episode, ask a question about your business, or just connect with other motivated wellness entrepreneurs you can do that in our Wellpreneur Community on Facebook. Enjoy the interview!

29 Oct 2018Successful Retreat Planning with Delamay Devi {e184}00:34:38

Today I'm speaking with Delamay Devi, yoga teacher and digital nomad with an incredible story. As a perfect continuation on the previous episode on how to create more freedom and flexibility and what it means to each and every one of us, Delamay shares how she structured her life and business. What's amazing is that for the past 9 years she's been following the sun, so she hasn't had a winter in 9 years. Both her and her husband work online and offline, they move through various locations around the world throughout the year where she teaches yoga, teacher training, mentorship, and runs retreats. I know that the idea of running retreats is a dream for so many of you, and even recently we had some questions in our Facebook Community on how to plan a retreat. And yes, it can feel a bit daunting on how you are going to pull it together which is why it's always helpful to hear an insight from someone who constantly organizes them. Which is why with Delamay I'm talking about retreat planning in detail. Something else I really took away with this interview is a sense of alignment and how you cant just model your business based just on what everyone else is doing, but intentionally set the boundaries and the shape of your business based on what's authentically you. I would very much love to talk to you about this interview in our FB Community, so jump in and leave us a comment there!

05 Nov 2018Natural Foods Chef Ceri Jones Grows with a Blog and Multiple Income Streams {e185}00:35:00

My guest this week is natural food chef Ceri Jones. Ceri had a bit of an unconventional career path, starting with a music career that transitioned over time, so I really think you'll enjoy hearing her story. Now before we dive into this amazing interview - I have a little teaser for you on what's happening at Wellpreneur. I'll be able to talk more about this in the next couple of weeks of course, but for now let's just say that I'm preparing something really cool that'll soon be available on Amazon, so stay tuned! Another thing that I wanted to bring up is that I made some changes in my approach to email newsletters, you probably noticed the change in the title but something bigger that I did is that I actually combined my 2 different lists: my personal brand and Wellpreneur, so stay through today's episode intro to hear more about the reasons why I did that and what changed and we can discuss email strategies more in the Facebook Community Facebook group. Now if you are a personal chef or a nutritionist you'll really want to hear my today's chat with Ceri and how she made a major shift in her career, started and grown her blog over the years and how her business evolved. We're also discussing creating multiple income streams, how to run retreats as a chef, whether creating an app for your business makes sense + so much more!

12 Nov 2018Health Lab Founder Jess Thomas on Selling Physical Wellness Products {e186}00:33:36

This week I have the amazing Jess Thomas on the podcast. Jess is the Founder of Health Lab, which is a 7-figure business, which produces 100% natural beauty and wellness snacks for women, based in Australia. It's really great to talk to someone who runs a product oriented business as we usually speak with founders of service based wellness providers. I think you'll enjoy the full story from someone who runs a physical product centered business all the way from funding (she sold her car for $5000 she invested in her business), how she works with her husband and what that looks like, and how she doesn't really believe in the work-life balance and that instead we should work on the idea of integration. So if you ever thought about adding a product or launching a product based business, you'll find this interview especially insightful. Now I teased you last week about something new I've been working on and I'm finally ready to tell you more about it! You already know that couple of years ago I released my book Wellpreneur, which teaches you how to bring more right people to your website and turn them into paying clients. It's an online marketing system for the wellness industry that's been a huge success and still sells on Amazon constantly bringing new members to our community. But there's something else that happens at this time of the year that became a certain tradition for the past couple of years and that's creating an actionable plan of what are we going to work on in the coming year. And so far I have talked about this in a few podcasts and created a downloadable PDF planner you can download and use, but from speaking with some of my friends and clients and hearing your thoughts I thought that it'd be cool to create an actual physical planner you could use to plan out your entire year of wellness business. And I realized that I wanted that for my own business as well and I know it will be useful to all of you too. And I've created it! It's called The Wellpreneur Planner and the launch is happening on Black Friday Nov 23rd 2018, and it will be available on Amazon. If you want to stay up to date about it, make sure to get on my email list and join our Facebook community. So speaking about physical product based business today I thought it would be a perfect time to give you some more input on my new physical product that can help your business :)

26 Nov 2018Hosting a TV Show with Personal Chef Alia Dalal {e187}00:54:15

I'm having a fantastic interview for you today! I'm speaking with healthy food chef Alia Dalal. I met Alia several years ago and she was a member of one of my very first small group coaching programs called Wellpreneur Incubator. She is a personal chef and she was teaching cooking classes and doing personal chef services and at the time we started working together she was trying to find new ways to diversify her income and expand her reach so she didn't have to spend all of her time just cooking, which she loves to do, but there's only a certain amount of time you can spend doing only that, right? It's really great to have Alia now on the show to share what she's created, and today in particular, because the reason I wanted to have her come on was to talk about television. Alia has had a lot of experience getting herself on the television in a few different ways: she's done a self produced show, she hosted a show on a local TV network, and she's created a cooking show for a private network which I didn't even know existed as an option - how cool is that?! And it really got me thinking about the potential of using video, and we talked a bit about using online videos for wellness businesses but she is doing actually television as a video, and I think it'll expand your mind on what's possible. I know a lot of wellpreneurs out there dream about having a TV show, so I think some of what Alia says will open your eyes and maybe shatter some misconceptions, I know it did for me. Alia is super cool, I love her website and her branding, her personality, it's just really amazing how she's been able to turn this personal chef business into something that really fits her and expand it in so many different areas.

03 Dec 2018Integrity Cleanse with Martha Beck {e188}00:53:20

Today's episode is really special because I'm interviewing someone who's work had a huge impact on my life and helped me find my inner voice again. I'm honored and thrilled to have Martha Beck on the show today. Martha is an author and a life coach and the book she wrote that helped me turn my life around Finding Your Own North Star still remains one of my top reads. You'll hear about Martha's amazing career path and how she became such an accomplished author. We talk about how we all put cultural norms over our own preferences and how because of that we often don't end up doing things that really feel right to us, things that are in our nature. We go deep into conversation about how creation is a fundamental impulse of all humans and Martha's concept of Integrity Cleanse and how we can start tuning into ourselves and how many of us deep down know what they want but don't have access to that knowledge, and how to unlock that. We touch on epigenetics, transformation of human consciousness, her writing, and always believing and doing what you love can be more magical than you ever imagined + SO MUCH MORE!

10 Dec 2018How to Speak Your Truth and Find Your Voice with D'Arcy Webb {e189}00:32:37

This week I'm interviewing Speech Diva D'Arcy Webb and we're talking about how to find your true voice, and how to really find the words that have power and speak your truth. Having your talk or a workshop feel like a party and using your time on stage to meaningfully convey your message is not something that comes natural to all of us. But what if public speaking could be fun? I know that Public speaking is a big dream and a great fear for many wellpreneurs, so when I met D'Arcy I just knew I had to have her come to the show and talk about making you feel more at ease when using your voice. And this interview comes I think particularly timely because we're approaching the time of the year when we'll be setting new goals, and for many of you these goals may include public speaking, so this week's chat will empower you and hopefully make you feel more at ease when using your voice to convey your message.

This week I'm talking to wellpreneur Jenny Tschiesche, the LunchBox Doctor. Jenny not only runs her LunchBox Doctor website but she's also the best selling author, a frequent guest on local and national radio stations, TV guest in the UK, and has a fabulous public speaking career. I met Jenny in person a few weeks ago and I really wanted to bring her to the show because the amazing way she spun her career towards her strengths, being that she's such a strong communicator and also loves to do recipe development. A brilliant example of a wellpreneur who created her business around what works best for her. 24 Dec 2018Naturopath Physician and Digital Nomad Dr. Alexis Shields {e191}00:40:21

This week we're jumping into another installment of the Real Wellpreneur series. My guest today is Dr. Alexis Shields, a naturopathic physician who's also a digital nomad, running her business completely virtually and living in different locations around the world. And just like we talked about in the first episode of the season (Freedom and Flexibility), being a real wellpreneur and taking your business online doesn't necessarily have to be changing location: it can be working 3 days a week or taking the summers off, or whatever freedom means to YOU and shaping your business to fit that. And that's exactly what Alexis had done, and from her story you'll see how she's been able to make a thriving business. I know you'll especially enjoy this episode if you are a doctor looking for ways to grow your business and because taking your business online is not always an option, you'll hear from a fellow wellpreneur how you can work within these restrictions. Plus Alexis mentions tons of useful tools you can use in your biz and you'll find them all in the show notes.

31 Dec 2018Health Coaching and Health Care with Dr. Chatterjee {e192}00:41:40

Happy New Year and welcome to Season 4 Finale! What an incredible year this has been! At Wellpreneur we interviewed the most amazing guests, released The Wellpreneur Planner and I had the pleasure of speaking at some pretty great events, one of which was UK Health Coaches Association Conference. The keynote speaker at the conference was Dr. Rangan Chatterjee, British physician, author, TV presenter and podcaster, best known for his TV show Dr. In the House. He's also the resident doctor on BBC1 breakfast show and a frequent radio guest and author of the bestselling book called The 4 Pillar Plan, and as we are recording this fantastic interview he is releasing his latest book The Stress Solution. But the main reason I called Dr. Chatterjee on the show is because he is a wellpreneur. As a physician he is regularly seeing patients, but what makes him a wellpreneur is the fact that he is looking at his career in a different light and he wanted to see how he could impact the most people, so today he is sharing his amazing career path from GP to reaching people on a much larger level: through television, radio, writing and podcasting. The other reason I was so eager to interview Dr. Chatterjee is because he is a huge fan of health coaching and strongly advocates for it to become integrated in regular health care, and because his books are such useful tools to wellpreneurs out there. It's really great to see such an influential physician talking about how health coaches and doctors can work together, not only in the UK, but in variety of other health care systems where doctors are either overworked, or they don't have the time or training to help patients make the lifestyle change which is something where health coaches can provide the most value. His vision is that there will be a health coach in every doctor's office within the next few years. We also talk about stress today, and the way Dr. Chatterjee is managing stress himself and how he is helping others reduce it. What I really liked is the idea of touch and using touch to help reduce stress. There's a lot of goodness in this episode so grab a cup of tea and join our conversation.

18 Mar 2019Wellness is for Everyone {e193}00:25:11

I’m so excited to bring you this new series of interviews and solo shows about how to grow your business in the wellness industry, and how to be well as a wellness entrepreneur. So a big welcome back to all of you long time listeners and a huge hello to our new followers. I’ll be sharing today some of my observations on the new trends in the industry and thoughts on how we can all do better, and stand in a way that’s meaningful, soulful, and impactful. Starting off with my own example how and why some stereotypes I noticed in the industry triggered me and made me think how much of that is coming from the outside pressure of being the perfect example of what you are teaching and helping people to become, and how much of it is coming from within me and my own insecurities. So the focus of today’s episode and this entire season actually is that the wellness is for everyone, and how we’ll all be so much more successful if we’re really being ourselves, vs. trying to be the perfect instagram idea of a wellness entrepreneur.

25 Mar 2019Ethical and Sustainable Sourcing of Wellness Ingredients with Sana Javeri Kadri {e194}00:37:54

Or better said evolution of the wellness industry. This week I’m talking with an inspiring entrepreneur who strongly believes in ethical and sustainable sourcing of the wellness ingredients we’re using today, especially turmeric. My guest is Sana Javeri Kadri, founder of Diaspora Co. Sana was a food photographer who grew up in India, but it was while she was spending time in the US that she noticed the turmeric trend taking off, and realized that it really wasn’t being responsibly sourced. In fact, most people had no idea where their turmeric was coming from and the farmers were really being exploited and certainly not compensated fairly for the products they were producing. There was also the matter of too many different varieties being on the market. So Sana took a big leap of fate and decided to start bringing some transparency into that supply chain which is about creating a supply of turmeric that is of an amazing quality, varieties that are traditional heirloom, but based on treating the people that are producing it well and compensating farmers fairly. We touch on so many topics, like how she got started with business and how she managed to launch it, what’s wrong with the spice trade today, and what can we do to shed more light to how it’s conducted and improve one of the most important basis of nutrition and wellness. And of course, you’ll hear some great turmeric tips today, so stay tuned. I know that this is a very thought provoking interview, as it made me think about how even if you don’t know much about the industry at first – you can think bigger, and if you feel passionate about it, just go after it. And I want you to know that there are many more talks to come that are also inspired by positive effects conscious entrepreneurs make in modern ever expanding wellness industry, which will perhaps help YOU realize how YOUR unique background can make you the perfect person for the business you are launching. I’m totally amazed by Sana’s story and I hope that her example of following curiosity which turned into a dream business inspires you to dive deeper into your interests and see where that takes you.

01 Apr 2019Bring the Spark Back to Your Work! {e195}00:25:00

If the work you used to love, that used to give you a lot of satisfaction, growth, and inspiration just feels flat, and you just have no motivation to go forward in your workday it’s definitely a sign that something needs to change. I know I’ve had this feeling and a lot of people from the community too, and I’m interested in exploring this issue and see how we can take that moment of falling out of love with your work and use that as a transformation. I’d love for you to join me on this topic and share your thoughts!

22 Apr 2019Revolutionizing Wellness Industry: Meghan Dowd of Cado {e198}00:25:06

Today I’m speaking with wellpreneur Meghan Dowd, the owner, creator and founder of Cado Ice Cream: paleo and vegan friendly ice cream made from fresh avocados. Meghan and I actually went to college together and I heard about her through one of our class Facebook groups, and when I saw what her business was and that she was a wellpreneur – I knew I wanted to have her on the show. So Meghan was working in LA, but she really wanted to move back to Iowa where she’s originally from. The first business she started when she went back was kombucha and she’s also a yoga teacher and runs a studio. Being in the wellness business already, eventually Meghan and her family recognized a serious lack in healthier, dairy free and vegan options in ice cream section, so they came up with Cado. It’s the first time avocado has been used to make ice cream foundation and they have really revolutionized the food industry with their line of products. What we’re talking about today is how she got started with her business, how she got her first big customer, and also how she balances her family life. She openly shares how it took a lot of trial and product testing until they’ve came up with the best recipe for their delicious treat. I think you are just going to love hearing from her, because even though she’s really successful, she is a real down to earth wellpreneur. Meghan shares that she really values partnerships in her business, what it looks like to run a wellness business as a family with her mom and brother, and how she balances her multiple wellness outlets. If you are in a food or nutrition industry you’ll also love her recommendations on some great resources where she finds inspiration and information.

29 Apr 2019Case Study: Holistic Food Coach and Personal Chef Sachiko Marchand Grows by Moving 100% Online {e199}00:36:22

This week I have another great interview in Real Wellpreneur series, and my guest is Sachiko Marchand, holistic food coach, dietitian, nutritionist, and founder of Holistic Food Journey. Sachiko was actually one of my clients, and when we first met she was doing personal chef services and cooking classes in a few countries before settling down in Australia, but we transformed her business by shifting it online and allowing her to grow this worldwide community. She is now working less with having a lot more impact and generating more income, her work is much more fun, and she's spending more time with her family, which is her top priority. Sachiko is such an inspiration! She has proven that you absolutely CAN find time to grow your business even when you are having small children and take care of your family. She's experienced incredible growth in her business: she has a thriving online community, a few very popular courses, published book, and we talk about that whole amazing journey. Sachiko will share some of the financial aspects of growing her business. I think you'll find this interview really inspiring, especially if you feel like you can't balance the time between your work and your family or have trouble transitioning to growing your business from your day job. And actually when we finished the interview we kept chatting and talking about market research and how important it was for her while she'd been developing her programs - so I decided to record that part as well and add it to today's episode as I think you'll find it super valuable to hear how you can zero down on your audience. So get your notebook ready because there's tons of goodness in today's interview. I know you'll enjoy it!

24 Feb 2014How Health Coach Jen Morris Markets her Online Detox Programs {e08}00:31:07

Jen Morris is a certified health coach and co-founder of Urban Detox Club, an online food-based program helping clients to lose weight and create a permanent healthy lifestyle.

Jen started her health coaching business working with clients one-on-one, but quickly realized the limits on how many clients she could see (and the frustration of rushing between appointments and last-minute cancellations). That's what sparked Jen and her business partner to start Urban Detox Club.

I was especially interested to have Jen on the podcast because while the program is online - her marketing and client-generation is mainly done offline - in person, through networking events and referrals. In our interview we talk specifics about networking, referrals, how not to be afraid of your competitors, and how to shift your existing programs from in-person to online.

What you'll learn in this episode:

  • how to start getting clients, even without a huge social media presence
  • the right way to do networking to generate business
  • why getting clear on your vision helps you get out of your own way
  • the benefits of networking with people in unrelated industries
  • the improv theater trick to partnerships
  • how to update your existing programs to work online

Mark Sisson is the founder of Mark's Daily Apple, one of the most well-known paleo/primal living websites. I first met Mark at a conference several years ago, when my blog was more a labor of love than a business. One of my favorite moments in this interview is when Mark shared that he "didn't know what he wanted to do with his life until his mid-40s" - and then shared some advice that he'd give to his younger self.

For all of us who feel that confusion about what we really want to do when we grow up - or that success is just not happening fast enough!!! (Can you relate?) I think you'll enjoy what Mark has to say. I know it was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment!

Plus, we talk about tons of specific business-building tips especially for online entrepreneurs, and a good dose of entrepreneurial mindset. Get ready to be inspired, it's a good one.

What you'll learn in this episode:

  • The right mindset to build your business
  • The common pitfalls Mark sees in new businesses
  • Why having a unique perspective is critical in the blogosphere
