It seems like lately, everything I’ve been doing and sharing is in the energy of motivation, joy, excitement, and positive energy.  

 

I was recently invited by a former client to do a speaking engagement, in which we co-created a workshop for the attendees that was focused on joy. In the workshop, I led the attendees through a powerful exercise to help them tap into their own joy. 

 

One of the key parts of the exercise was meditation and visualization, and in this episode, I want to lead you through a similar guided visualization right here on the podcast.

  • The impact of meditation and visualization and how it brings more joy, motivation, and excitement into your life.

In honor of Latin Heritage month, I wanted to honor my roots and my family, as they both have a huge part in the work that I do and the journey I’ve been on since 2017. As I reflect back on the beginning of my journey through personal development and spiritual growth, it takes me back to the year 2017, when my sister and I locked arms and decided to embark on this path together after being laid off from our jobs. We started this business together and wrote a 14 week mindset program and workbook called, “Know Your Worth.” Looking back at this initial part of our business reminds me where we came from, but also, just how important worthiness is in our personal growth journeys. 

 

In this episode, I’m sharing more about how I got started in this space, the impact my sister and family had, and the importance of worthiness and mindfulness through every stage of our lives. In a bold pivot, Byrdie transitioned from the glitz of Hollywood to the heart of healthcare. Fueled by a personal quest for improved patient experiences, she co-founded Clear Health Advisors in 2013 alongside Dr. Valerie Ulene. Byrdie is also the creator of Boom Home Medical. She reinvented home medical products for toileting, bathing, dressing, and mobility. Byrdie holds a BA in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She further honed her skills, earning a Masters in Healthcare Leadership from Brown University in May 2016.

In my own inner work and in my work with my clients, there is often a pattern that takes shape whenever they face big breakthroughs and gain new perspectives. They begin to realize what their blind spots are and in turn, they become really hard on themselves for who they’ve been, how they’ve shown up, and how they’ve gotten to their present state. In all this work of forward momentum, healing, and visioning, there is a resistance to going backward and misstepping. However, the truth is, we are all always taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. It’s truth, it’s normal, and it’s part of growth. 

 

In this episode, I’m sharing why you might be being so hard on yourself, why you don’t need to be, and 3 ways that you can stop being so hard on yourself and show yourself love.

  • If it doesn’t feel like a whole body yes, it’s okay to say no. 

  • If you don’t set boundaries or choose to challenge yourself, you won’t feel aligned and free of resistance. 

  • How to know when it’s time to let go of some of the hard stuff holding you back.

Welcome to another relationship edition of the Leading Empowered podcast! In this episode, I’m sharing my answer to one of the most common questions I’ve gotten from day 1 of my coaching practice, and that is, “what do I do if my partner isn’t doing the inner “work.” The “work” is often defined as personal development, meditation, working with a coach or therapist, etc. 

 

This is a somewhat loaded question with a lot of elements to consider. Today, I’m offering 3 suggestions to help you navigate what to do if your partner isn’t doing the inner “work” to grow like you are. 

 

As we talk through this topic, remember that every day is a chance to start again. You can always choose, at any moment, to shift your energy and lean into this inner work yourself, despite what your partner does or doesn’t do. 

 

In this episode, you’ll learn:

 

  • 3 suggestions for what to do if your partner isn’t doing the inner “work.” 

  • Tip #1: Acknowledge that this is annoying, frustrating, and worrisome for the partner that is doing the work. Despite this, stay on your path. Try not to give as much attention to the fact that your partner isn’t doing the work that you are. 

  • A lot of people, especially men, learn through experience and need to try it out before committing to doing the work. 

  • The “work” your partner ends up doing will likely be completely different than what you’re doing. The masculine is more Type A and the feminine is more Type B, therefore, they need different types of work to grow. 

  • The more we can get in a place of acceptance, the more we can stay on our path. 

  • Trust that your partner’s soul guidance will take them exactly where they need to go and grow. 

  • Tip #2: Your energy is contagious, and what you’re modeling is everything. If you want more of something in your relationship, commit to doing that yourself, and it will be contagious. 

  • Tip #3: What you say, what you communicate, and how you communicate will naturally shift if you focus on your own energy and your own inner work. 

  • How to respond with and circulate more joy. 

  • Realigning your energy to what you want to be experiencing and your essence doesn’t require your partner to do their own work. You can start and they can learn from you and their own process. 

  • Even though they’re not doing what you deem as “work,” there is some aspect of work they’re doing, in their own way.

Today’s conversation is a continuation from a past episode from August 2022 called, “Trying to Manifest Something? Here’s a tip.” I recently had a client email in after listening to this episode and reflecting on the homework questions. As she was reflecting, she thought of a few further prompting questions that naturally fit the topic of not being impatient with your manifestations, which is the focus of today’s episode. 

 

She suggested these prompts:

 

  • "What desires am I impatient about?” 

  • “How much does this have to happen right now?”

  • “What is the risk of it happening now?”

 

In this episode, we’re using her prompting questions as a springboard to talk about the risk of your impatient desires coming true right now and how you can lean in, trust the process, and trust that everything is happening FOR you, instead of TO you.

In this episode, I’m sharing the 4 keys to energetic mastery and what it really means to master your energy and show up as your most energetic, aligned, present, authentic self. 

 

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The definition of energetic mastery. 

  • The 4 elements of energetic growth- Emotional, Attitude, Perspective, and Aura.

  • Why energy is everything and so incredibly powerful. 

  • The 4 keys to energetic mastery. 

  • 1) Practice. Practice grounds you and allows you to really see others and receive more from your interactions. 

  • 2) Consciousness / Awareness. The strength of your awareness and connection to consciousness and recognizing yourself as powerful. How much you exercise your muscle of awareness impacts how present you are.

  • 3) Consistency. How consistent are you in your journaling? Meditation? Exercise? The key is that you are connected to your being and the actions that heighten your being and your energy. This will empower you to continue to do them consistently. It’s important to be consistent in one energy and reach mastery before moving onto other energies. 

  • 4) Constant learning. Never be in a place where you think you’re a pro and don’t need to learn anything further. Seek mentors and be aware of the areas in which you can grow and improve as a person and in your craft. 

  • How energetic mastery is all about being a student for life. 

  • Relativism and how it connects with energetic mastery.

Over the years, what’s come to my awareness in my spiritual work with clients is that they become resistant to their egos as our work unfolds. They tend to think their egos are getting in the way of them achieving what they want in life vs. helping them.

 

When you’re unaware and unconscious, yes, the ego is running the complete show. Once you awaken into the world of consciousness, however, your ego can become your friend, not your foe. The ego is your mind, your personality, how you think, what drives you…You simply can’t live without your ego.

 

So, if we’re going to live with our egos and never be rid of them, we may as well find ways to like these parts of ourselves, right?

 

In this episode, I’m sharing 3 ways that your ego is actually helpful and how amazing it can be when you recognize your inner power and can be fully present in that truth. in that human space. 

 

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • What the ego really is. 

  • The importance of activating your parasympathetic system for the benefit of your soul. 

  • How to connect to a healthy mindset and a healthy body, because that’s where the magic happens. 

  • How your ego can be your friend or your enemy. 

  • 3 ways that your ego is helpful. 

  • 1) Reason. Your ego helps you become relatable, collaborative, grounded, and flexible so you can make reasonable decisions and see the purpose in things. It’s the pragmatic and logical side of you - we need those things!

  • 2) Willingness and commitment. Your ego helps you become willing to commit to taking the necessary steps to get to where you want to go. Your ego grounds you in the space for your mind to buy in.

  • 3) Courage. You can’t have willingness without courage. Courage comes from the heart and the head. Your ego helps you pump yourself up to do the things that may be uncomfortable, scary, or don’t make sense at first. 

  • Take things one step at a time.

  • How can you find the courage to choose one thing to focus on at a time?

  • How can you create the willingness to focus on that one thing?
