We’re not going to name names because that’s not how we roll and we don’t want to become part of the call-out culture, but we do want to take this opportunity to emphasize our philosophy at Vegetarian Zen and explain why you won’t ever hear us call out ex-vegans.

07 Oct 2018VZ 277: CBD Oil - What is It? Is it Legal? What are the Benefits and the Risks? 00:24:06

CBD Oil is something I had heard about but hadn’t really done much research into until we discovered our dog, Cosmo, is having some issues with his leg. The issue may require surgery so as with anything, Larissa and I do a lot of research and due diligence before we make any big decisions especially when it comes to the well-being of our furry kids.

I wrote a post on Facebook asking my friends and family for veterinarians they would recommend to provide us with a second opinion and a could of friends asked me if I had looked into CBD oil to help Cosmo with his pain.

Since I didn’t know much about it, I started to research it further and discovered that many people are using CBD oil for a variety of reasons.

In this episode of our podcast, we discuss CBD Oi. More specifically, what is it, how it works, how it’s used, is it legal, and potential risks for humans and pets.

09 Dec 2018VZ 286: Are Fritos Vegan? (And Other Surprisingly Vegan & Non-Vegan Foods) 00:29:22

Back in Episode 48 of the podcast, we did an episode called “Foods that Seem Vegetarian But Are Not. Episode 48 was recorded back in 2014 so we wanted to take another look at this topic since it sparked a great conversation in our closed Facebook group (Whaddup Peas and Carrots!) about what foods seem like they should be vegan or vegetarian but aren’t.

In today’s episode of the podcast, we’re going to play a game I’m going to mention a food and we’ll let you guess whether it’s vegan/ vegetarian-friendly or not. Just a note, “vegan or vegetarian friendly” doesn’t mean ‘healthy” but it just means that the food doesn’t contain ingredients that would exclude them from being vegan or vegetarian.
