In this episode I sit down with Abigor of KOOL and discuss his personal history with UO and talk some OSI. I didn't know what to expect coming into this discussion as many believe OSI is not alive or on life support.  I am biased in the fact that I play a free shard so I really wanted someone to challenge this idea and give me their opinion. At the end of the entire experience my take away is that OSI is alive and well and is stable for the future. I saw a guild that was thriving and alive with events, hunts and tons of activities. This will tie into the next episode where KOOL helped me out with one of my biggest UO projects to date so stay tuned!

I take a seat with a best selling author Wed Locher. Wes brings his creative side like no other and explains how he got into Ultima Online. I sit down with Jaseowns and talk about his journey with UO and scripting. It was a very interesting story (wait until the last 5-10 mins!) that had me wanting to ask more questions. Jase is a very down to earth player and has carved himself a nice role as a scripting expert. It is very rare to find someone to willing to share his expertise in a public fashion. Jase I could tell has no huge ego and is very humble given what he has built over the last year. I am always happy to see more UO players creating content and putting themselves out there. We talked shop about creating content and it is a very underappreciated skill as it takes so many hours to produce even a short video. In this episode I sit down with Chill the GM of LoD. Leading one of the biggest guilds ever we take a deep dive on what makes him the leader he is. We also spend some time discussing the re birth of Angel Island and what happened with Chill vs Outlands. There is no debating the early onset of Outlands was completely dominated by LoD from the history lesson I was given. In this episode I sit down with a world class internationally known gentlemen by the name of HelloGreedo. In this episode I sit down with developer and long time Ultima Online player Stimwalt. We find out what drove him and inspired him to tackle Legends Of Ultima. This is a great behind the scenes to see what kind of player Stimwalt was playing Ultima Online. Legends Of Ultima is a true UO 2.0 reboot with 3D graphics. This fills the gap for a ton of people that always said "I wish UO had better graphics." A project this size is incredible in scope and after playing the test center I am impressed as to what has been created. I am extremely curious how the community will respond to this as it is something everyone should at least experience once and make their own decision.

I was approached by John-Clark to help him on his quest to write a piece about Ultima Online. I was  honored and humbled by this request and here is the raw audio file of our conversation. It has keyboard noise, in game noise and a host of other things that are very different from the normal format... Please share your feedback on what you thought... I really wanted John-Clark to get a sense of understand on what this game is current day. He got to see an active guild, a hunt, historical houses and some priceless interactions. 

John-Clark clearly did exhaustive research on UO and his questions really had me thinking. I think trying to fit all of who he is interviewing into a written article seems like a arduous task that I cannot imagine! I hope however the insight I gave and even showing him in game footage helps this article last another 25 years as UO has. I will share this article once written in my discord and social media platforms as I am chomping at the bit to read it. A huge thank you to John-Clark for giving this game and its genius design a platform. I sincerely hope and wish for 2023 UO players become more unified in the goal of expanding no matter what shard whether free or official. Here is the final part of my talk with Lord British. This is one of the most fascinating interviews I believe I will ever do. We go into Red Alert, StarCraft, VR and current EA/Broadsword leadership. I ask the question if Garriott ever thinks about taking back UO and the answer is a bit surprising to me.  We also talk about virtual and real world economies which directly applies to the current free shards. The passion in the answers really took me for a ride as some of these basic principles such as gold are really much more complex then I originally thought. Probably the best story we will hear is how a thief evaded a ban while robbing a poor lady blind in front of Lord British!

In this episode I sit down with the legend himself Adam Ant. I knew Adam Ant from Angel Island back in the day and I thought I heard he was in some comics so I came into this very intrigued. What I found was a old school player with a passion for UO. A coder that made programs and a bit of an activist with his initial Angel Island proposal which picked up a lot of steam. I actually presented this idea to Starr Long and I discussed his reply in the episode! I really enjoy tying in these old school elements with modern day ideas and getting a reply. In this special two part series I sit down with Luthius of UO Outlands. While freeshards may come and go I am absolutely certain this is the best coder we have ever seen for Ultima Online. The polish and thoughtfulness behind some of his creations are second to none. I think sometimes people even get used to the extreme level of detail done to most systems and how complex it is to remake them. I believe this is a very open and honest conversation about Outlands and some of the popular and perhaps unpopular changes that have occurred. I really tried to hold his feet to the fire and really understand why certain mechanics are the way they are. I felt at the end of this episode I had a firm grasp on WHY certain things are coded in this way. My only selfish desire is for Outlands to bring Factions back in some form. I believe the population is ready for a 24/7 type of consensual pvp that actually matters... Tune in for the next episode...

In this epic episode I get to sit one on one with Lord British himself. In this episode I sit down with the most notorious PK guild leader to ever grace Ultima Online: GluttonySDS. Whether you were a PK, Blue or anything in between you have certainly at some point in your UO career seen a EQMS tag.  EQMS is a guild like never seen before as a mass amount of people would group up and cast Earthquake or Meteor Swarm as a combo. This does massive damage but takes a lot of mana. Doing it a large group essentially kills anything in your way. EQMS has been banned from multiple shards for simple creating too much chaos and havoc. I have no expectations or idea what this interview would bring and this was such an awesome experience. Gluttony brings a no filter, no BS thought provoking style like I have never seen.  The simple strategy he employed still has not be replicated in UO that I am aware of. Gluttony has now moved on to Albion Online with numbers passing clear of 30,000 players he has certainly once again made a name for himself. As my quest to interview all of the legends this certainly will add to the library.

In this episode we chat with perhaps the most interesting international OSI player: Say Simba. This is a fascinating look at how playing in China actually works and how many hurdles you have to overcome to play a banned game. We went through about 5 VPNs to make this happen and near a month of coordination this was a great project that came together. 

In this episode I sit down with Lord Blackthorn himself and have a very open conversation about Ultima Online. We explore everything from Orcs, Trammel and even a few celebrities that once played. Even at an hour and half I felt like there was so much more to cover. Starr is a true example of how someone can embrace what they have created and even 20 years later has no problem rehashing the past. I sit one on one with the sole owner of Hybrid. We go on a journey to explore what it takes to run one of the oldest running shards in existence. 

In this episode I sit down with Evil Poptart. I have heard of this name all throughout my UO career but I never got the chance to play with or against him in the battlefield. We seemingly never crossed paths but I heard a great deal of his antics and PK acumen. This was a great sit down to fully understand how did Poptart come to be one of the most feared and ruthless PKs in the game? The answer really surprised me as his early UO days I figured would have been filled with complete chaos but it was not and his story is very interesting. One thing Poptart reminded me is something that was the whole reason I started this podcast.... As long as your happy and playing UO everything else doesn't matter! We have so many free shards to pick from with different mechanics and builds that there is no excuse to not be playing this great game. My hope is interviews like this one stand the test of time and give people a fresh look on how to bring the UO community closer together instead of divide because you play a different shard.

In this episode I sit down with the Grand Master PVPer himself Ansem UO. I would say one of the best well rounded PVPers in the history of UO going through various eras and shards. This is a great extremely technical breakdown of the mind of a top tier caster. The way in which Ansem breaks down certain mechanics was one of the best I have heard. As a mid level PVPer I felt this was very revealing to understand the past and how it makes people play today.

In this episode I tackle the question that has really sparked discussion... Is OSI alive? Do people still even play official servers? 

The answer to this question is a simple one but very complex. I am not sure we even get a full answer on it! Waffles however is a true gem for OSI and fully expresses his passion with a great story. The project he embarked on to play through OSI as a new player to end game is one many don't have the heart for. Hearing his joy for the finishing his quest you can tell the sense of accomplishment is unmatched in any other game.... I think we need more content creators for UO no matter what shard or play style...
