Over the last few weeks we’ve gotten some interesting news when it comes to the reopening of Walt Disney World.

While the news is changing and updating almost daily we figured now would be a good time to discuss what we know so far and share our opinions on it all.

We’re going to talk about opening procedures, what the resorts are going to look like, what it might be like in the parks and also the new reservation systems and tools Disney will be providing to help guests on their trips during this re-opening phase.

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Part II: Interview With Mike Farnham - WDW Opinion Ep. 33

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, we’ve talked about it plenty over the previous months but just as we discuss one piece of news we learn of another that we just have to talk about. Last week Disney held a three day press event that has now given us the most information, probably ever, about this new land coming to Disneyland and Hollywood Studios in Disney World. For the past week we’ve been devouring article after article and podcast after podcast to get as much info as humanly possible. And now we’re ready to share it with you. We now know the names of the shops, restaurants and even the flow of the land itself.

A couple weeks back we brought you STAR WARS GALAXY’S EDGE EPISODE I: WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR, well this week we are bringing you STAR WARS GALAXY’S EDGE EPISODE II: NEW DETAILS EMERGE.

Since we have so much to talk about we felt compelled to bring another guest on today to help us weed through all this info. He’s an uber Disney fan and has been an aggregator of the latest Galaxy’s Edge news for quite some time now over on twitter. We’re excited to have him on so welcome Mike Farnham from swgalaxysedge.com to the WDW Opinion Podcast.

23 Apr 2019Why Homecomin’ Is Disney Springs Best Restaurant - WDW Opinion Ep. 3900:59:21

Why Homecomin’ Is Disney Springs Best Restaurant - WDW Opinion Ep. 39

One of the best parts about the Disney Springs transformation is all the new and unique dining opportunities it has brought. We knew we were going to be getting a lot of new restaurants but the caliber of cuisine I think has taken many by surprise.

One of our personal favorites is Art Smith’s Homecomin’. It’s old fashion southern comfort food with a twist here or there. While it isn’t directly owned by Disney in some ways it is perfectly Disney.

The name Homecomin’ has multiple meanings for celebrity chef Art Smith. For one he’s from Florida and while he’s cooked all over this is him making a return to his home state. Two he’s cooking the food he grew up with and three it’s a homecoming because Art Smith got his start on the Disney College Program.

It’s a restaurant with good food, good atmosphere and a story fit for Disney. While I have been several times, Hank was able to go again just the other day. Which means it’s a perfect opportunity to do a dining review of one of our favorite places to eat.

Plus, we discuss the offerings coming to Hollywood Studios’ 30th-anniversary celebration, we dive into some Skyliner Gandola news and we roast the Central Florida theme park injury report All that and more on this episode of WDW Opinion.

WDW Opinion Ep. 20 - Pop Century Resort Walking Tour

I love wandering through Disney World. It’s the best way to discover new things when it comes to the parks. But when it comes to the resorts, wandering and going for a stroll can be one of the most peaceful things you can do on Disney property. Hank and I recently stayed at the Pop Century resort during a trip and while we will have a full review coming shortly for this episode we wanted to take you on a stroll of the property. We recorded it while we were down there and we hope it helps transport you to the House of the Mouse. On our stroll we talk about the resort, the size and scale of it, review a little of its history and discuss what’s coming down the pike for it.

22 Oct 2018WDW Opinion Ep. 16 - Power Rankings: The Mountain Attractions of Walt Disney World01:06:38

WDW Opinion Ep. 16 - Power Rankings: The Mountain Attractions of Walt Disney World

Sometimes a good idea just sticks. And sometimes that good idea is so cool that it builds a theme. For Disney, their good idea came in the form of a legendary Swiss mountain and decades later, with rides all over the world I think it is safe to say that the Mountain attraction idea Disney came up with has stuck as a pretty awesome theme.

In fact, there are 19 mountains across the world in Disney parks. Including 4 Big Thunder Mountains, 3 Splash Mountains, 5 Space Mountains, a Mt. Prometheus, a Mt. Gushmore, a Mt. Mayday and a Forbidden Mountain to name a few.

We could talk about all of them and why they are great but for this episode, Hank and I will be discussing the mountains of Walt Disney World. We will do an overview of each, discuss what we like and what we don’t like and then we will each give our power rankings of the mountains.

Plus on this episode, we discuss our News to Opinion stories of the week and we remember a lost Magic Kingdom attraction.

20 May 2019Top Things to Do Outside the Theme Parks at Disney World - WDW Opinion Ep. 4301:05:04

Top Things to Do Outside the Theme Parks at Disney World - WDW Opinion Ep. 43

I’m sure I sound like a broken record at this point but I’ll start this segment off by saying one of my favorite phrases. Disney World really is a World unto itself. There’s so much to do outside of the parks there even.

Often our trips get bogged down running from one attraction to the next and we spend the majority of our time within the walls of one of the theme parks. But there’s so much to see, do and experience outside of the parks.

Some you probably have heard of before while others might be a new experience for you. But either way, this segment is dedicated to all the best things to do around Disney property that don’t require theme park admission.

Plus, we discuss new food items coming to Artist Point and Be Our Guest, we catch a first glimpse of the Epcot Skyliner Gondola Station and the newly re-imagined Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland and we start spreading some theme park rumors.

24 Aug 2020Wilderness Lodge Trip Report - What It’s Like In the Reopened Disney Resort Hotel - WDW Opinion Ep. 9701:06:17

For me there are two main things I look forward to on a Walt Disney World vacation. The first is of course being back in the theme parks. The second is getting to stay at a Disney resort.

As I get older the latter of the two is something I look forward to more and more. In many aspects the Disney resort might be my favorite part favorite part of the vacation.

We’ve talked alot about the reopened theme parks recently but since the resort stay is such a big part of any Walt Disney World vacation I think it’s time to share some opinions on what it’s like to stay at a Disney resort in this new world we live in. On this episode I am joined by my parents, Tim and Sue Brown, who just got back from a stay at the Wilderness Lodge and they’re sharing their opinions on it.

These Are the Ways to Save Money for a Walt Disney World Trip - WDW Opinion Ep. 44

A Disney World vacation is expensive. That’s not a controversial topic it’s just a fact. Most vacations are expensive no matter where you go. Sure Disney might be on another level but Disney World is on another level when it comes to a vacation experience.

But there are a lot of things to pay for when it comes to a Disney trip. Obviously, the transportation and the hotel can be the most expensive but tickets can get up there too. Then you factor in dining, souvenirs and a whole list of other miscellaneous items and it adds up quickly.

Just like I preach about having a strategy when it comes to your park days and vacation itself I also think it’s important to have a strategy when it comes to a Disney vacation budget. Keeping your eye on it before and during the trip can relieve you of a lot of headache and stress once you return home.

In this episode, I’m going to share my top tips for saving money for your Disney World vacation.

Plus, we’re discussing some new enhancements coming to Animal Kingdom and the dedication ceremony for Star War’s Galaxy’s Edge is going to be live stream, I’ll give you all the details on that.

15 Jul 2019Is a Regional Theme Park in Ohio Better Than Disney World? - WDW Opinion Ep. 5001:14:51

Is a Regional Theme Park in Ohio Better Than Disney World? - WDW Opinion Ep. 50

24 miles northeast of Cincinnati lies a 364 acre park. Some of it buried deep in the forest, some of it basking in the humid Ohio sun. It claims several thousand less acres than Disney World's 30 thousand and the 1,100 that make up its four amusement parks (meanwhile much larger than Disneyland's 85).

It’s home to natives, coaster junkies, and regional tourists looking for the next big thrill. It’s Kings Island. Kings Island’s history begins back in 1971 and has ebbed and flowed far more times that it may have desired – passing from taft broadcasting to Paramount and today to Cedar Fair group.

But today – it’s home to 100 attractions, 14 coasters and even a 33 acre waterpark – this Hank’s hometown park. Kings Island.

Plus, Gran Destino tower has opened at Coronado Springs, the NBA Experience Store makes its debut and the Tomorrowland enternace sign goes missing in the Magic Kingdom. All that and more on this episode of WDW Opinion.

06 May 2019All Star Movies Resort Review - WDW Opinion Ep. 4101:20:14

All Star Movies Resort Review - WDW Opinion Ep. 41

There are so many places to stay on Disney property. When you go there a lot it’s always fun to pick a new place to stay. Where you stay really helps to determine what type of trip you have. You’re staying at the poly? Then you’ll probably be headed to the Magic Kingdom a lot. Maybe you’re at the Yacht Club so you can walk into Epcot. Perhaps you have a room at Port Orleans Riverside so you can hop on a boat to Disney Springs every night. Whatever it is, it will surely be a different trip depending upon where you stay.

Of course the categories of Deluxe, Moderate and Value play a big part in that as well. Recently I got the chance to stay at All Star Movies in one of the newly renovated rooms. While it has a Value price tag the lines between resort levels are beginning to blur.

In this segment will say what we liked about the resort, what we didn’t like and give our overall rating. Now, unfortunately, Hank wasn't able to join me on this trip but a good friend of the podcast Austin was. We want to hear his thoughts to so we are happy to welcome back to the show Austin Lee.

Plus, Toy Story Land is getting a new restaurant, a new logo has been reviled for Hollywood Studios, Avengers End Game is killing it at the box office and I’ll be sharing details of a new contest we are having where you could win an awesome prize.

The Top Tech Tips & Must Haves For A Disney Trip - WDW Opinion Ep. 40

A few years back, Disney tried to revolutionize the vacation experience and in many ways, My Disney+ and My Disney Experience have done just that. Unlike other places, Disney embraces change. While you can get upset about the limitations of their tech, which a lot of it has, you can’t fault them for revolutionizing an industry.

But how can we incorporate new technology into our vacations? If we’re looking to do that Disney World is a great place to accommodate that. In this episode, we’ll be breaking down the apps and tech tips you need to know to make your vacation more enjoyable.

Plus, PizzeRizzo is opening back up at Hollywood Studios, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway has significant delays and Disney has announced a slew of Summertime vacation deals. All that and more on this episode of WDW Opinion.

14 Jan 2019WDW Opinion Ep. 25 - Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Episode I: What We Know So Far01:10:04

For years now we have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. It is pegged to be a truly revolutionary land and will bring in attractions, atmosphere and technologies that will launch a new era in theme parks. While we are only months away from the opening of the land in Disneyland and a little bit further away from the opening in Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, we are still unaware of most of the things that will be in the land.

So that’s what we wanted to do here today. Discuss everything that we know so far, including some details WDW Opinion has stumbled across that haven’t made their rounds to the general public yet. Just like the films that inspired this land we anticipate having multiple “episodes” of the podcast that discuss further details in the months to come. That’s why we are calling this segment Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Episode I: What We Know So Far. Let’s go to Black Spire Outpost today on WDW Opinion.

Plus we discuss new details about the “incredible celebration” coming to Pixar Place, Google has an “its a small world” like ride at the CES tech conference and we share the New Years Eve experience of one listener at the Magic Kingdom.

When it comes to planning, there’s so much that goes into a Disney World trip. You need to pick a time of year, pick a length of stay, what tickets you’re going to get, where you’re going to stay, what you’re going to eat, what you’re going to ride. The list can go on and on and on.

With all these decisions you’re bound to make a few mistakes here or there.

WDW Opinion Ep. 18 - The Circles of Disney Hell

A Disney World vacation is magical, fun, and sometimes even awe-inspiring. It can elicit all sorts of incredible emotions and the end of a trip only leaves you wanting more.

But we’d be lying if we didn’t say there were some unmagical parts about Disney trips. Whether it’s certain attractions, shows, character interactions or even restaurants or food items, something you want to avoid like the plague during your Disney trip.

As we record this it is Halloween which got us thinking about some spooky things. The underworld in particular and what that might look like for us Disney fans. God forbid we do ever go there but, if we do what would the Disney underworld look like? What experiences would we have to relive over and over and over again? The Disney things that would be pure torture. This week we’re going to hell, and not the one you experience in Mr. Toad’s wild ride, no. We’re on our way to Disney hell.

Plus, we discuss new food offerings come to the International Festival of the Holidays at Epcot, Luxo Jr comes to Pixar Pier in California and we start spreading some theme park rumors.

What It’s Like to Stay in the New Gran Destino Tower - WDW Opinion Ep. 59

Today we’ll be talking about the Coronado Springs resort YET AGAIN, but not without stellar reason. Once described as “a celebration of ancient Mexico and the southwest americas, Coronado Springs now traverses the atlantic and has tied in Spanish culture. Because that makes sense. But through the blend of conventioning and cultures and vacationers and transport that just doesn’t quite work — Coronado Springs is just plain beautiful.

Plus we also discuss some new “wonderFALL” dining options in Disney Springs and the first look at music from the Epcot Forever show. All that and more on this episode of WDW Opinion.

For many of us Opinioneers out there during this crazy time, Disney+ has become a platform we probably now turn to almost daily. The streaming service can offer an escape from reality in a time when many people might need it.

In this episode we review a new film to Disney+, Onward. We discuss what we thought of it, what this means for Pixar and how Disney+ might be getting more big budget films debuting on the platform soon.

All this week we are sharing daily updates from our September 2020 trip to Walt Disney World!

On this episode we recap day 3 of our trip. Our goal for day 3 was to head to Hollywood Studios in the morning and acquire a Boarding Pass for Rise of the Resistance. Well, we failed miserably at accomplishing that goal! But we still had a good day riding some rides, eating at Docking Bay 7, riding the Skyliner, exploring the Caribbean Beach Resort and much more!

WDW Opinion Ep. 28 - Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge Dining Review

I will continue to say it for as long as this podcast is a thing, Disney World is a world unto itself. It’s like its own independent city and there are so many things outside of the parks that Disney World has to offer. Attractions aside the food you can indulge in is something that makes Disney World so unique. There are the popular choices like Be Our Guest, Ohana, Le Cellier, Cinderella’s Royal Table that people are dying to get to. And then there are locations that may be off the beaten path.

One of our favorite restaurants on Disney property is Sanaa. It’s a fan favorite that is still considered an underappreciated place. On this episode we are going to give our review of and share why we love Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village.

Plus we discuss the new themes revealed for the Skyliner Gondola system, Maleficent the Dragon makes her triumphant return to the Festival of Fantasy Parade and we give an interesting take on the quarterly Central Florida theme park injury report. All that and more on this episode of WDW Opinion

02 Oct 2018WDW Opinion Ep. 13 - Why We Love Pandora the World of Avatar01:15:10

WDW Opinion Ep. 13 - Why We Love Pandora the World of Avatar

There are so many reasons we love Disney World. And when asked to explain why you love it you often use words like fun, magical, cool and awesome. While all those words work, what really makes Disney World so great and the main reasons Hank and I love it so much is because of the specifics. The details and the items that make up the World are the reason we love it so. That’s the purpose of this segment. To go land by land, attraction by attraction, resort by resort and break down why we love each of these places so.

Our first focus with this segment has to do with a land that while it hasn’t been here for too long is already one of our favorites.

Plus we talk about Rafiki’s Planet Watch possibly closing, a new ticket pricing structure is announced for Walt Disney World and we start spreading some theme park rumors. All that and more on this episode on WDW Opinion!

WDW Opinion Ep. 32 - Interview With Performer & YouTuber Roxy Darr

I love being a part of the Disney community. Ever since I started WDW Opinion I’ve gotten the ability to interact with so many incredible people. It’s a community filled with passionate and caring people and while our bond is through Disney we’ve grown to appreciate each other in so many other ways.

I think I’m also so impressed with the talent that is represented in this community. Whether its artists, designers, performers or musicians everyone has their own creative way of showing their Disney fanhood.

Our guest today is no exception to that. She is an accomplished performer and singer who has had the opportunity to perform at places like the D23 Expo which is the ultimate Disney Fan Convention and at the Indy Disney Meet. She has amassed a huge following on social media and in particular on YouTube where her covers of Disney songs have been viewed millions of times. She has some very cool projects she is currently working on as well as some interesting Disney stories to share with us today. We’re excited to have Roxy Darr joining us!

Plus we discuss enhancements coming to Epcot, Universal reveals more info about their upcoming roller coaster and we honor a lost Disney World attraction. All that and more on this episode of WDW Opinion.

Things A First Timer Needs To Do At Walt Disney World - WDW Opinion Ep. 54

You only get to experience your first time once. Here at WDW Opinion, we make it our mission to share as many opinions as humanly possible and we’re not in the business of making you think there’s only one right way to experience Walt Disney World. Because in reality there’s actually 10s of thousands of ways to vacation at the most magical place on Earth.

But your first trip to Disney World is special and for many in America, a trip to Disney World is almost a rite of passage. Not the Dr. Jackie Ogden kind of rite of passage but still important. Hank and I feel like while you can do whatever you want however you want on your Disney World trip there are a few things we would really encourage you to do on your first trip to the World.

Now, for many listening to this podcast you’ve been to Disney World before. But maybe there is a family member or friend who’s never been before. If you want to take them then use this episode as a way to drum up inspiration for what you want them to experience. Or maybe you’re ready to take your own child for the first time or maybe you haven't been in a while and you really want to see the “must-dos”. This is the episode for you.

The Pros and Cons Of Screen Based Attractions - WDW Opinion Ep. 63

Back in the day when you entered a theme park the only place you’d see screens would be for a 3-d movie or a pre-show film before you boarded an attraction. Screens weren’t really intended for the theme parks, leave those to the movie theaters.

But as the years past more and more screens started to make their way into the parks. For good or bad screens are now an integral part of the today’s theme park experience. And they’re something creative teams turn to in order to enhance the park experience.

Screens have come a long way in recent years and in this episode we’ll be discussing the pros and cons of screens and how they’ll impact the parks in years to come.

Plus there’s a change up coming to Marvel’s leadership and we go on a rant because Disney has changed the names of the food offerings at Docking Bay 7 in Galaxy's Edge All that and more on this episode of the WDW Opinion Podcast. All that and more on this episode of the WDW Opinion Podcast.

21 Jan 2019WDW Opinion Ep. 26 - Coronado Springs Resort Walking Tour00:51:33

WDW Opinion Ep. 26 - Coronado Springs Resort Walking Tour

Right now Coronado Springs is undergoing massive change. At this point most if not all of the guest rooms have been renovated. But there is still plenty of work to be done at the resort. Its newest edition, the Destino Tower will be opening this July and will bring with it 545 new guest rooms. It’s going to be a massive new addition and completely change the resort. But right now it can be more of a hindrance to the guest as it is being built.

Hank and I recently got the opportunity to stay at the resort. We had just stayed at the Pop Century Resort where we gave a walking tour so we decided to take a walking tour of Coronado as well. On it we discussed the construction, what it will mean for the future of the resort and we share what we like and don’t like about the place.

Plus we talk about tickets going on sale for two 2019 events at Walt Disney World, we share the results of the 2019 Walt Disney World Marathon and we honor a Disney legend.

18 Feb 2019WDW Opinion Ep. 30 - Our Ultimate Day at Walt Disney World01:09:17

WDW Opinion Ep. 30 - Our Ultimate Day at Walt Disney World

A few weeks ago we told you about a new tour coming to Walt Disney world. The 12 hour tour could accommodate up to six guests and would run $12,000. We questioned the reasoning behind it as it was made to seem like a simple VIP tour with unlimited FastPass+ and the ability to eat anywhere on Disney Property. For that alone the price is not worth it at all.

But we are slowly starting to hear that the way Disney was describing the tour was merely just options you could select from. What this tour actually is, is an open book of sorts. Meaning if you ever wanted to experience something at Disney World or do something at Disney World that is typically off limits then this is the tour where Disney could make it happen for you.

Maybe you’ve always wanted to get a tour backstage or walk through an attraction before it opens, maybe you even want to meet a certain Disney Cast Member. This tour can make almost anything happen, within reason and time constraints. Once booked Disney will work with you to try and get all of your requests squared away.

This got us thinking, what would our ultimate Disney Day be? If we could, what would we do to take advantage of this tour. How would we break it out and what events would our ultimate Disney day consist of? That’s what we’re going to share in this segment.

Plus we discuss some new offerings and deals at Disney Springs, Frozen 2 gets a teaser trailer and we celebrate the Disney legend of the month. All that and more on this episode of WDW Opinion.

11 Nov 2019Five Disney World Attractions We Want to Get Stuck On - WDW Opinion Ep. 6400:42:52

Five Disney World Attractions We Want to Get Stuck On - WDW Opinion Ep. 64

A trip to Disney World is one filled with happy times. There are attractions to be rode, shows to be seen, food to be consumed and fun to be had.

Just like everything else in life, there can be hiccups and uncontrollable events thrown into your Disney vacation that can force you to zig when you wanted to zag. When it comes to attractions, these are huge complicated mechanical systems with a ton of moving parts. So whether it’s human error or mechanical mixups, attractions can break down. Sometimes preventing you from riding, sometimes having you get stuck on one of them.

But why do we want to get walked off a ride? Because our fandom demands that we know everything we can about this place.

02 Sep 2019All the Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar Studios News from D23 - WDW Opinion Ep. 5601:07:27

All the Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar Studios News from D23 - WDW Opinion Ep. 56

With so much park related news lately it can be hard to forget that Disney is first and foremost a film company. Now over the years it has of course become an entertainment powerhouse branching into TV, publishing, sports, soon to be streaming and theme parks and destinations but in the beginning it was film.

Today, film still plays a huge part (maybe the biggest) part in the company’s performance. And the stories we are so excited to see play out in the parks are stories that originated from the films Disney has had their hand in making.

During D23 last week there were huge Disney+ announcements and big parks reveals. But this year many felt the studios panel at D23, which in years past has been among the most highly anticipated features, fell a little flat.

While we didn’t get big reveals from D23, there is still a ton to talk about when it comes to both the live action and animated films Disney has in the works. Today we will be discussing the slate of films currently in progress and will give you our WDW Opinions on where we still the studios going.

Plus we also share our thoughts on all the crazy stories coming out of the opening of the Orlando wing of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

18 Mar 2019The Disney World Rides You’re Supposed to Love - WDW Opinion Ep. 3401:13:07

The Disney World Rides You’re Supposed to Love - WDW Opinion Ep. 34

A couple weeks ago I posted a photo on Facebook and Instagram. It was of the entrance to it’s a small world. Now this is an iconic attraction for sure but I posed a question in my caption. Do we actually hate it’s a small world or do we really just love to hate it. The response we got was overwhelming. Almost 250 comments later and I realized that the vast majority of people really actually love that ride.

It’s funny because that doesn’t always seem to be the case when it comes to classic attractions. Nowadays more than ever Disney attractions are getting bigger, faster, better themed and overall throwing you into areas you’ve never experienced before. It’s an interesting comparison when you have a ride like it’s a small world just down the road from something like AVATAR Flight of Passage. Both are loved by many but for completely different reasons.

So this whole line of questioning got us thinking. What are the attractions we are supposed to love? Why are we supposed to love them? And when it comes right down to it, do we actually love it?

It’s going to be an interesting discussion we’ll be having this week on WDW Opinion.

Plus we discuss the new menu coming to Whispering Canyon Cafe, permits have been filed that will radically change the way Epcot looks, we discuss ticket prices at Disney World, in the main segment we share what attractions we are supposed to love and at the very end of the show we have a big WDW Opinion announcement that you won’t want to miss.

17 Sep 2020September Trip Report Day 5 Recap - Animal Kingdom and Dinner at Our New Favorite Disney World Restaurant00:32:34

All this week we are sharing daily updates from our September 2020 trip to Walt Disney World!

On this episode we recap day 5 of our trip. This day was complete with a trip to the Animal Kingdom, rides on Kilimanjaro Safaris, food at Nomad Lounge and an exceptional dinner at Il Mulino in the Walt Disney World Swan hotel.

25 Mar 2019Are We Supposed to Hate These Disney World Attractions? - WDW Opinion Podcast Ep. 3501:03:53

Are We Supposed to Hate These Disney World Attractions? - WDW Opinion Podcast Ep. 35

Last week we discussed the rides we’re supposed to love at Disney World. While recording that episode we realized that the classics, while old and somewhat outdated are still worth loving. They're the rides that just hold up. Call it great storytelling or just Disney doing what Disney does best, either way, for the most part, the rides were supposed to love, we do love.

But what about the flip side of that coin. Are there Disney World attractions that we’re supposed to hate? Probably so. In fact, many park-goers are quick to label certain attractions as not being worth the time spent in line.

When it comes to theme parks, Disney is the best in the business. No doubt about it. But no one is perfect. There are definitely a few bumps in the road when it comes to attractions built by Disney over the years. But there are also attractions that people label as bad because they aren’t taller, faster or more technologically advanced.

Disney has a diverse selection of attractions. Which is great! But some who want pure roller coasters are quick to label anything else as lame.

Which brings us to our discussion this week. What are the Disney World attractions were supposed to hate? We’ll discuss what we picked, why we picked them and if we actually dislike them. We’re probably going to upset some people this week on WDW Opinion.

Plus we discuss the Disney Walk Around the World Bricks are going to the wayside, a new restaurant is coming to the France pavilion in Epcot and we share our Disney legend of the month. All that and more on this episode of WDW Opinion.

29 Jun 2020Splash Mountain Updates, Park Pass System, Magic Bands Changes and Much More! - WDW Opinion Ep. 8900:56:27

So when this whole pandemic started we kind of stopped talking about the news here on the WDW Opinion podcast. Mainly because things were constantly changing but also because for a while we knew we just weren’t going to get a whole lot of news coming our way.

Well in the last week and a half I think we’ve gotten the most amount of news, since maybe like D23 last year. Just an onslaught of information.

Today we’re going to try to talk about all of it but rather than just regurgitate the info, we also want to share our opinions on it, hence the name of the show, but also we want to talk to you about how all this info might affect your future Walt Disney World vacations.

When Everything Goes Wrong on Your Disney World Trip, Here’s What You Do - WDW Opinion Ep. 82

In today’s episode Hank and I both come up with our perfect Disney World days. These days are completely grounded in reality and are filled with activities that the average guest can have access to. We’re both looking forward to our ideal days but the twist to this story is that we each get to pick three things that go wrong during the other’s day.

We have to think on our Disney feet to overcome the twists and to save our days. This is all in good fun but the twists we are experiencing (long lines, bad weather, transportation not running) are all coming hiccups you could experience during any Disney World trip.

We’re going to show you how to adapt and overcome so that you can stick to your planned day and still have an incredible time even when you hit a few speed bumps.

07 Oct 2019Everything You Need to Know About the Disney Skyliner - WDW Opinion Ep. 6101:02:01

Everything You Need to Know About the Disney Skyliner - WDW Opinion Ep. 61

Buses, boats, trams, minivans and monorails.

There are a ton of ways to get around the Walt Disney World resort. And a lot of the times they can be considered attractions themselves. Transportation is one thing but enjoy how you get from a to b is part of the fun when it comes to traveling around Disney.

This past week the newest form of transportation opened in Disney World and it signifies a huge shift in the way we’ll soon be getting around the entire resort.

The Disney Skyliner had its naysayers when it was first announced and as more details emerged people continued to be skeptical. But even only in its first week it has won many of those naysayers over.

In this episode of WDW Opinion we’ll be discussing just what it is like to ride the Skyliner, how it works and how it might change the future of transportation at Disney World.

Now I will preface this by saying this segment was recorded before an incident occurred on the Skyliner system. This past Saturday there appeared to be a pile up of the gondolas in the Riviera Resort station. I would classify it as a crash as they looked to be more stuck to one another than anything but, the incident did cause the Skyliner to be down for 3 hours. Leaving guests stranded in the cars above for that time frame. Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident and Disney has taken care of each guest who was stuck in each car, giving them some park hoppers, $100 gift cards and comping their taxis to their final destinations.

With all that being said, it's an unfortunate incident but we have to keep in mind that this is a new system and a new style of transportation that has never been used in Disney World before. Right now I hope this is a one time occurrence and I’ll be treating it as such until otherwise. Currently the system is down as Disney investigates what went wrong. But for me once this comes back on line, I'll be eager to give it another ride.

Plus Early Morning Magic is returning to the Magic Kingdom and Disney Visa Cardholders can get a special offer on rooms at the Riviera Resort. All that and more on this episode of the WDW Opinion Podcast.

13 May 2019What Disney's Movie Schedule Means for the Parks - WDW Opinion Ep. 4201:15:47

What Disney's Movie Schedule Means for the Parks - WDW Opinion Ep. 42

Sometimes as Hank and I geek out about the latest in plastic bracelet technology or as we salivate over theme park operating hours it’s easy for us to forget that Disney really is a film company.

That’s right for every robot bear they’ve created they have a dozen movies to show for it. And while this is a theme park-centric podcast it’s important to go back to Disney’s roots from time to time. After all, film really is the reason they are so successful today.

Their film success is also why their theme parks are so successful too. It’s all about storytelling but it’s also about Disney’s ability to create incredible film characters that then can fit so perfectly into a theme park. Their theme parks are a gateway for you to enter into your favorite films.

Just a few days ago Disney released their upcoming film slate for the next eight or so years. There’s still plenty of gaps, unknowns and yet to be announced projects but one thing is certain. Disney is in no way, shape or form slowing down when it comes to content creation.

Whether it be Disney animation, Disney live action, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and Lucasfilm or anything coming from the newly acquired Fox, Disney has some huge releases that will be created in the years to come.

Intellectual Property or IP continues to find its way into the parks now more than ever. But with the new slate of Disney owned films, how will that affect the parks. What characters, franchises and stories will make their way into the parks and how will it reshape current entities already there.

It’s time to daydream because in this segment will be giving our 2 cents, whatever that’s worth, on what we think will change in the parks based on upcoming films. It should be a rather interesting discussion.

Plus, Disney is giving resort guests more options when selecting thier Magic Bands and this Fall brings a huge new perk to resort guests in the form or more Extra Magic Hours

Power Rankings: The Roller Coasters of Walt Disney World - WDW Opinion Ep. 83

There's a stigma that Disney World doesn't have enough thrill rides and in particular they don’t have enough good coasters.

When compared to a Six Flags or a Cedar Fair park, that would be true. But just because you can’t see a brightly colored coaster track towering in the distance from the parking lot, doesn't mean that Disney World doesn’t have any good coasters. On the contrary in fact.

Some of the best roller coasters in the world can be found in a Disney theme park. In this episode we review each roller coaster in Walt Disney World and give our overall rankings.

25 Jan 2021What New Year’s 2021 Was Like in Walt Disney World - WDW Opinion Ep. 10601:37:46

2020 brought us a lot of unusual things to say the least. Most of the events were bad, that’s fair to say but some interesting opportunities did arise out of the madness of the previous year.

One interesting opportunity was getting to experience lower crowds during typically busy times of the year. New Years Eve and Day are always probably the two busiest days of the year but this year, as our friend Jay talks about in his trip report, these days this year were incredibly delightful.

Everything You Need to Know About Disney+ - WDW Opinion Ep. 57

At the beginning of every show I let you know what WDW Opinion’s mission statement is. Yes we're here to share our Disney opinions with you and in return we ask that you share your Disney opinions with your fellow Opinioneers but in doing so we hope you can achieve two things.

To one help you plan for and two day dream about your next perfect Disney World vacation. Growing up as a die-hard Disney fan I always tried to seek out as much Disney content as I could to help fill the Mickey sized hole in my heart that occurred in between trips. Movies, shows, books and so much more helped me pass the time when I wasn’t in Disney.

Well, I think Disney completely understands this and they are ready to make sure that Disney fans around the world won’t have to go too far in order to feel the magic. In fact they’re looking to bring as much magic as they can right to your very own TV, computer or smart device.

Disney+ is a streaming service that looks to be turning the industry on its head. Everything from the price, the content, the delivery of said content and so much more is breaking new ground in the streaming world.

By the time this podcast goes live on Monday, September 9, 2019 there are only 63 days left until Disney+ officially goes live. While there will be many more announcements coming in the weeks leading up to the launch and we are bound to get more details about future content in the years to come, but for now Hank and I decided that now is as good a time as any to discuss the series and films we are most excited for that are coming to this new streaming service.

So grab your popcorn because today we bingeing on all the Disney+ news we know.

Plus we also discuss the opening of the 2019 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival and we share our thoughts on a new Florida Resident ticket Disney is offering.

06 Jul 2020Power Rankings: The Best Attractions With No Height Requirements at Walt Disney World - WDW Opinion Ep. 9001:06:51

When Walt Disney had the idea to create Disneyland the main premise was to create a place where the whole family could have fun. Not a place filled with just attractions for kids. Or a place filled with crazy rides that the young ones couldn’t participate in. But a place that every member of the family could go on and enjoy.

Over the years, yes they’ve added quite a bit of attractions that have a height requirement but there are still plenty of options for the entire family to enjoy.

It’s weird because with each new attraction that gets announced, especially in the last few years, the majority of them will have a height requirement. So we get super excited about the thrill rides.

For many kids the first time they are tall enough to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, or Expedition Everest or Flight of Passage is always a big deal. But there are still so many great options that anyone and everyone can enjoy regardless of their height.

And that’s what we are discussing here today. We’ve got our Power Rankings of the best non-height requirement attractions at Walt Disney World.

22 Jun 2020What The Reopened Orlando Theme Parks Are Like - Interview With Vincent of VincentVision - WDW Opinion Ep. 8801:03:35

Walt Disney World theme parks have been closed for three months now. Their reopening plans are in place. It will still take awhile to get back to 100% normal. But that light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer and closer. And other theme parks in Orlando have started to reopen.

But alas, as someone who does not live in Orlando I have been unable to visit these places. Yet, thanks to the power of the glorious internet I have been able to follow along and live vicariously as others have forged a path into these other theme parks as they reopen.

One individual I keep turning to whenever he launches a new video, is joining us today. We’re going to talk about his experiences in these reopened theme parks and I can’t wait to hear from him.

He is Vincent from VincentVision and I’m very happy to have him on the show.

You'll see what it’s like working in the resorts and discover how moving roles to a position just a few miles down the road can feel like a whole new world when you work at Disney.
