13 Feb 2025Challenges and Life Lessons from Every Year of My Thirties00:45:09

Before I reached my thirties I had a (very untrue) perception that life in my thirties would get easier, I would be more of an ‘adult’ and life would seamlessly flow along. I was in for a shock when I realized quite quickly that adulting isn’t really a feeling (not one that was going to come in my thirties) and that this decade was full of huge changes, decisions and challenges.

In this vulnerable and honest solo episode I am reflecting on each year of my thirties and I have picked one big challenge I went through and the subsequent lesson I learned and took with me on my thirties journey. The stories I am sharing range from discussing career uncertainties, relationship struggles, feelings of being left behind, and welcoming in new chapters and identity shifts.

I invite you to join the waitlist for my brand new membership program TURNING. A community space designed for women in their thirties to support each other. Doors are re-opening in March-sign up here to get first access (there will be limited spots!).

09 Apr 2025From 64 First Dates to Finding Love: How to Date Intentionally ft Talia Koren00:50:02

Is there a dating epidemic? Are we all doomed in the world of dating?

In this episode, I'm joined by Talia Koren, founder of Dating Intentionally, for a refreshingly honest conversation about modern dating and relationships. Talia shares her incredible journey of going on 64 first dates in 10 months before meeting her husband, and why she was actually having fun while others around her felt miserable.

We dive deep into:

  • Why dating feels harder today and how our expectations have evolved
  • The myth of "the spark" and why slow-burn relationships often lead to deeper connections
  • Why compatibility, shared values, and friendship matter more than instant chemistry
  • Talia's story of meeting her husband on a dating app and how she knew he was "the one" (hint: it wasn't love at first sight!)
  • How to date intentionally without becoming overwhelmed
  • The balance between being too picky and too accepting in your dating life
  • Why you need to be "the chooser" instead of waiting to be chosen

If you're experiencing dating burnout, questioning whether good partners exist, or wondering how to navigate the modern dating landscape with confidence and joy, this conversation is your antidote to dating doom and gloom.

27 Jan 2021Turning 30 and Re-writing Your 30 Manual00:35:14
Our 30 Manual is a concept that I teach in my Coaching Program. It is an instruction manual that lays out a set of rules for how we believe our lives will look in our thirties. When we don’t meet these expectations, we often feel like we have ‘missed the boat’ or that we have been left behind from others. The truth is, these goals are fictitious and have been created (often subconsciously) by a younger version of ourselves, who unfortunately did not have a crystal ball to predict the twists and turns of our twenties.    Today’s Podcast episode takes a deep-dive into understanding everything about our 30 Manuals and it kicks off a special series of coaching episodes where I am sharing concepts that I use in my coaching program with my clients. In the episode I explain what a 30 Manual is, how it has been playing out in your life and then I outline my four-step guide for how to re-write it. If you have ever felt that you have 'failed' as your life doesn't look exactly as you would like by now, this episode is for you.    Turning 30 Coaching Details: To apply for the group program: DM @turning30coach on Instagram. 07 Sep 2021Turning 33 and Breaking Up With Myself00:39:48
The Turning 30 Podcast is back with a brand new season! We are kicking off with the first episode of a two-part series, where I am opening up and sharing my experience of going through huge life changes at the age of 33. In June 2020 my world fell apart. I went through a traumatising and unexpected break up of a 4 year relationship and found myself single for the first-time a week before my 33rd birthday. In the same week I lost my full-time position in my job and the comfort of a secure salary.   In this first episode I am sharing my story about breaking up with my partner, which ultimately led to me ‘breaking up with myself’ and the future I had planned. In my thirty-third year I set out to create a new chapter which has been the best one yet, and now I am giving you a behind the scenes insight into my journey and the lessons I have learnt.   This episode is for you if you have hesitation about making big life changes in your thirties and if you are being called to build your next chapter. If you have ever struggled with fears of being alone or different to others in the path that you choose, you are going to resonate a lot with my story.   Instagram: @turning30coach Wait List for the next The Next Chapter group course (opening in two weeks): https://bit.ly/nextchapterwaitlist

This episode is the first in a two-part special series with my previous podcast guest, friend, colleague and retreat co-host, Jelena Holodkova, and we are diving into a topic that I know so many of you struggle with: that feeling that you get that something isn’t quite right. You could say that you feel that something is ‘off’. This is what we call not being in Alignment. In this episode we dive into how to spot when something feels off and we share all of the different ‘symptoms’ and ways this may be showing up in your life, using personal examples and stories from times when we have experienced feeling off ourselves. By the end of this episode, you should have a deeper understanding of the ways that this feeling off is probably showing up in your behaviour. In the second part of this series we are going to be sharing practical tools that you can use to This episode is in celebration of the release of our brand new retreat The Align retreat that is taking place THIS SUMMER in the UK. 29 Mar 2022Turning 30 and Harsh Truths about Friendships in your Thirties00:37:17
Friendships is a topic that does not get enough airtime and this is why we are continuing our friendship month with an episode dedicated to speaking openly about some of the challenges you may face in your friendships in your thirties.   Never one to shy away from taboo topics and speak about things that aren't usually spoken out loud , I have recorded this solo episode discussing some of the harsh truths that happen in our thirties. Such as the fact that many people prioritize their careers and love-lives over friendships, or the complicated feelings you may experience as your friends move into a different stage of life to you.   If you ever feel anxious about how your friendships are evolving or if you sometimes struggle to maintain your current friendships, then this episode is for you!   In the episode I also announce and invite you to sign up to my brand new Friendship Mini-course: 8 Audio modules packed full of coaching and content about how to have better friendships. 21 Sep 2021Turning 33 and Starting Again00:39:39
This episode is the second instalment of my two part series where I am opening up and sharing my experience of going through huge life changes at the age of 33.   In the first episode (no.33) I share the details of my breakup and how this led to ‘breaking up with myself’ and building a brand new chapter that looked completely different to anything I had envisaged for my thirties. Which brings us to this episode. I was given the chance for a fresh start. An opportunity to be the architect of my own life and build something different than before. So how did I do it? In this episode I tell the full story of what unfolded after the breakup and leaving my full-time position, and how I used my own coaching concepts to get through some of the most difficult times in my life to come out the other side with a new reality. It wasn’t all sunshine and roses (as you will hear), but sometimes wiping your hands clean of things that aren’t serving you is what is necessary to make way for a much better life.   Processing my grief and the changes, coaching myself, choosing to believe, setting promises and goals, investing money into myself and not letting other people’s opinions hold me back are just some of the things I am sharing with you as part of my story.   Most importantly, I hope when you listen it will encourage you to believe that at any point, at any age, you can start again and take your life into your own hands.   Instagram: @turning30coach Wait List for the The Next Chapter group program: https://bit.ly/nextchapterwaitlist
23 Feb 2021Turning 30 and Overcoming Comparison00:33:15
In the next instalment of my coaching tools series, I am sharing practical tools to help overcome comparison. When we reach our thirties, we often have lives that look different to our friends and peers, and our brains go into overdrive looking around to find evidence of this. The truth is, comparison is normal for our brains, but the problem is that we often take this to mean that there is something wrong with us, or the way that our lives have panned out.   If you have ever felt this way, this episode provides you with an explanation of why we indulge in comparison as we enter our thirties, and gives practical steps for how to overcome this to focus on living a life that is all about you, and not those around you. If you want to take these practical tips and learn how to apply them in the comfort of a group of people on the same journey as you- apply now to my Turning 30 Group Program.   To book a free consult: http://bit.ly/turning30consult Program Details:  bit.ly/turning30program Instagram: @turning30coach
27 Jan 2022Turning 30 and Being a F*ck Up Ft. Alexandra Potter00:43:30
This week’s podcast episode is a replay of one of the most popular Turning 30 episodes from 2021.   When our big birthdays loom, whether it be 30, 40, 50 or beyond- we often see this as a signpost to check in with ourselves and evaluate where we are in life. A lot of us come to the conclusion that we aren’t doing life 'right', and that we have ‘f*cked up’ when our lives don’t look like we expected.   This is the topic that bestselling author Alexandra Potter writes about in her latest book ‘Confessions of a forty-something f*ck up’ and I invited her onto the podcast to talk all about it.   As well as diving into the characters and topics in her book, Alexandra openly shares her personal story of being published as an author for the first time the week before her 30th birthday, and her experience of being a woman in a world where ageing is seen as something negative instead of something to embrace.   We talk about societal pressures, friendships, loneliness, vulnerability and why we should embrace ageing and everything it has to offer. This conversation is one of the most uplifting and inspiring conversations I have ever had about growing older. If you ever have a sense of ‘time running out’, and want some reassurance that you aren’t ‘doing life wrong- this episode is for you.   Turning 30 details: Insta: @turning30coach Website: www.turning30coach.com   Alexandra's details: Insta: @alexandrapotter
19 Oct 2021Turning 30 and Reclaiming Your Thirties00:29:39
Today’s solo podcast episode is getting to the core of what we do here at Turning 30 Coaching: real-talk about what happens when we are in our thirties and we start to have feelings of panic and doubt that we aren’t where we are supposed to be by this age.   So many of us let this panic take over us, but it isn’t too late for you to make a change. That’s why I have created this episode. To inspire you to reclaim your thirties! In the episode I discuss the two main consequences of this panic and how it leads us to living a life that doesn’t feel right on the inside, and often on the outside too. I also talk about what it means to 'Reclaim Your Thirties'.    Here's a spoiler: Reclaiming your thirties is what you need to do when we get stuck in these behaviour patterns. Reclaiming your thirties is a method of how to stop comparison, learn how to manage your internal state and start to manifest a life that feels good in your thirties. Reclaiming your thirties is when you finally decide to live a life on your own terms.  Tune in to this episode where I am explaining why we need to reclaim our thirties, what that even means and how to join my free live workshops where I am going to be diving into the three step process that I have developed that is going to enable you to turn your thirties around. 21 Apr 2021Turning 30 and What to Do When You Don't Like Your Job Ft. Karina Marriott00:52:09
I’ve invited my good friend Karina, known as @styleidealist, back onto the podcast this week to talk about Turning 30 and 'Not Liking Your Job’. Karina and I have such a shared passion for helping others to overcome struggles in the workplace and we felt compelled to publish a no holds barred conversation about what it is really like when you don’t see a future in your job. After our own personal experiences of being stuck in jobs that weren’t for the long-term, we decided to talk openly about our  trials and tribulations and our eventual path to finding careers that fit. The result: an insightful and slightly ranty (from my side) podcast episode that is a must-listen if you and your job haven’t been getting along. As well as revealing details of our string of non-starter jobs, discussing workplace red-flags and some of our lowest moments, we also give practical tips of what to do if this is something you are currently going through. 08 Feb 2023Turning 30 and the Joy of Solo Travel00:48:18
This episode is the first in my brand new solo podcast series focusing on the topics that I believe are pivotal to enjoying your thirties.   Once upon a time, the thought of solo travel was a far away concept that people only did when they couldn’t convince their friends to come along with them (or maybe they didn’t even have friends at all).   After getting a small taste of solo travel in my early thirties, once I went through a break up at age 33 I felt a calling to go on an adventure that I couldn’t ignore.   My first big solo travel trip at age 33 opened up a whole new world for me. It wasn’t just the opportunity to travel, but the lessons that I learnt along the way. This episode tells my journey to solo travel and I am sharing the reasons why I love it so much. I also share tips for those of you who want to travel alone, but you aren't sure how to start planning a trip or you are feeling scared to take the leap.   This episode is for everyone and anyone who wants to get to know themselves on a deeper level, have new experiences and meet new people along the way, regardless of age, regardless of relationship status and regardless of having never done anything like this before.   I currently have 1:1 coaching spots available for April start dates.   Click here to book a free initial consultation call:   https://calendly.com/turning30coach/turning30program   Join my community on Instagram at: @turning30coach
21 Mar 2021Turning 30 and Self-Care00:45:05
People talk about ‘self-care’ all the time- but what does it REALLY mean to take care of yourself? And why is it so important? I’ve invited my friend, past client and coaching colleague Karli Van Heel onto the Podcast to talk all about Self-care.  Karli run’s Studio Self, a well-being based community dedicated to helping people become a better version of themselves. The truth is, self-care isn’t really about how often you have a hot bubble bath and treating yourself to a massage. It’s actually about how in tune you are with your own needs, putting yourself first even when other things are demanding your attention, and your ability to love and trust yourself. Do you feel like you are constantly rushing around in overwhelm and never get time for yourself?  Do you feel like you are balancing a million things and are always expected to be switched ‘on’.  Do you want practical tips on how to implement a self-care regime that works for you? If yes, then this episode is for you! Turning 30 Coaching Details: Program: bit.ly/turning30program Instagram: @turning30coach   Studio Self Details: Instagram: @studio.self.co
15 Mar 2022Turning 30 and Navigating Friendships in Your Thirties Ft. Louise Rumball00:54:03
Have you ever struggled with feelings that your friendships have changed over the years? Do you ever feel disappointed that your friendships are changing as you grow older? If yes, this episode is for you.   Listen in to a vulnerable, honest and bold conversation I had with fellow single 30-something and @openhouselife Podcast Host Louise Rumball as we girl talk all about friendships in our thirties.   In this episode we answer an important and ever-so relevant question: can friendships survive when our friends are in different life stages to us?   As well as this we discuss the ‘curse’ of the single girl friend that meets a new love, the different types of friendships we have in our thirties, and also give tips for how to meet new friends, no matter how confident you feel about it.   This is a candid, unfiltered conversation where Louise and I authentically share our personal lives and friendships and say out loud things that people are often too nervous to admit.   Louise: IG: @louiserumball Podcast IG: @openhouselife Open House Podcast   Emma:IG: @turning30coach www.turning30coach.com
05 Apr 2023Turning 30 and let’s talk about Relationship Anxiety ft. Sarah Yudkin01:00:38
We’ve all heard those familiar phrases when it comes to starting a new relationship: ‘when you know you know’, but what if you start a new relationship or you’re already in a partnership and you don’t instantly know that this person is ‘the one’? For some reason, we’ve been tricked into believing that once we meet someone and get into a relationship, that we will live ‘happily ever after’ and things will just nicely slot into place. Add to this the fact we are bombarded with an array of different opinions on relationships such as ‘when you know you know’, it’s no wonder that when people start to have any doubts or questions in their relationship, they don’t know where to turn. In this week’s guest episode, I have invited life coach Sarah Yudkin on to talk about a topic that I don’t think gets nearly enough airtime: relationship anxiety. We dive into so many interesting topics, including: how to know if it’s anxiety or incompatibility? what to do (and what not to do) if you experience doubts in your relationship how relationship anxiety shows up and how it can affect you whether age affects anxious feelings in a relationship the topic of settling and what it means to ‘settle’ in a relationship ‘the grass is greener’ syndrome that we can experience when we are single or in a partnership Sarah is such a source of wisdom on this topic, based on her own personal journey of feeling anxious, doubtful, and uncertain in her own relationship to feeling a deeper sense of commitment, fulfillment, and optimism than she dreamed was possible. 01 Sep 2022Turning 30 and Why I’m a Quitter and You Should Be Too00:57:41
I LOVE quitting!! And now I want to tell you my story of how quitting led me to a career that I'm in love with. Quitting is often seen as something negative and something we should avoid in our career at all costs, but I’m here to convince you that quitting is actually something that can serve your career- if done in the right way. Come with me on a journey through the times when I have quit throughout the years, and all the lessons that I have learnt as a result. From the time I threw a glass of wine (by mistake) on an Insurance big-shot at a wine bar in London, to the time when I officially quit the 9-5 to pursue my coaching business, it’s been a ride and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. This episode is for you if you feel that you want to reframe quitting, make big career moves, break beliefs around ‘the right way’ to have a career, or you just want to have a lol at how many times I started a job and realised quite soon after, that it wasn’t for me! This is the first episode in a special podcast series dedicated to sharing stories of those who have taken huge leaps in their careers, leaving the 9-5 and now working for themselves in something that they deeply love and care about. 15 May 2024How To Know If Your Partner is "The One" Ft Sarah Yudkin (Re-run)01:02:01
27 Apr 2022Turning 30 and Starting Again when the plan goes to sh*t ft. Dorothy Johnson00:55:39
In honour of the 50th episode of the Turning 30 Podcast, I’ve invited back one of my favourite guest speakers from the first few episodes: break-up coach Dorothy Johnson.   Whereas last time we did a deep dive into the topic of breaking up in your thirties, this time we are in conversation all about building your next chapter when life throws you curveballs that you didn’t plan for.   We so often have our lives planned out in a certain way and then, when it doesn’t go exactly as we expected, we have to redirect and sometimes start from scratch. When this happens, we have two choices: to sit back and hope that things will work out, or to proactively go out and build a brand new reality.   Choosing to believe and taking action to recreate a new plan is the core of what both Dorothy and I do in our coaching programs and we have such a shared mission: to educate that with the power of your mind you can go out and build a life that is so amazing, you will let go of your old plan and be grateful that it didn’t work out!   In the episode, Dorothy tells her inspiring story of going from a gut-wrenching break-up to building a life she loves that ultimately led her to a whole new career in helping others and a brand new fiancé!   We talk about how it feels to go off-course, why time isn’t the only way to heal a heartbreak, practical tips for how to build your life back up again and how to not lose hope when you’re in doubt that the life you want is waiting for you just around the corner.   We laugh, we cry, we preach and we bring our most vulnerable selves to this very important discussion. This episode will give you goosebumps and contains a message that you didn’t even know you needed to hear to help you feel excited about your future.   Dorothy: https://dorothyabjohnson.com/ IG: @breakupcoachdorothy    Emma: IG: @turning30coach  Turning 30 Retreat Information and Registration: https://bit.ly/turning30retreatjordan

14 Nov 2023Turning 30 and Age Anxiety, Fear of Growing up and How to Overcome it to Enjoy Your Thirties00:39:06
Today we’re covering something that is central to my mission as a life coach focusing on helping individuals feel better about their age: – age anxiety. This is a topic that so many of us experience as we transition from our twenties into our thirties and we experience the reality of ‘growing older, entering a new phase of life and really facing the societal pressures of becoming an adult and everything that comes along with that.    For some of us this feeling is sudden and happens at the turn of a big birthday or as our birthday approaches, yet for many of us this is a background anxiety that gets heightened.    In this solo episode I am sharing my thoughts on the reason we experience anxiety at this age, how I personally experienced aging anxiety over the years, and how we can cope with this and take control of our anxiety and even use it to our advantage to make the most of our thirties.    Topics that I cover include the ‘instruction manual’ we hold ourselves accountable to in our thirties, the existential fears that can crop up as we age and see our parents growing older and experiencing loss, the part that society and popular culture plays in convincing women of their impending value drop due to growing older and more.  Don’t forget to subscribe to my new YouTube channel to receive exclusive videos including monthly YouTube Q&As that won’t be available on the podcast. 09 Nov 2022Turning 30 and Learning How to Make Decisions Ft Nicole Oren00:47:23
In a first for the Turning 30 Podcast, I have invited my own life and business coach, Nicole Oren, to talk all about how we can learn to make better decisions, even when these decisions are tough and we have been delaying making them for a while.   Decision-making is something that so many of us struggle with and proclaim that we are ‘bad at’, but it is a skill that we have to master if we want to live a life that is full, vibrant and doesn’t involve just sitting at home and waiting for things to magically change on tgheir own. Nicole has been such an integral part of my business journey for 2022, and I hired her as my coach when I was in the process of making some big (and quite painful) decisions in my business. If you are a business-owner, the skill of decision-making is crucial as it is something you will be practicing on a weekly, if not daily, basis and in this episode you will hear some insights into my own struggles and challenges with decision-making as part of my own business journey. Nicole and I have a raw and real conversation about why decision-making is so important, why decision-making can feel so hard, where to start if you are stuck and not taking actions, practical questions you can ask yourself when you want to make a decision, the importance of failing and we also share real-life examples of decisions we have both been making recently. Want to see changes in your life and get out of that uncomfortable space of the ‘I don’t know?!’- this is the episode for you! 27 Oct 2021Turning 30 and Embracing Your Feminine Sexual Power Ft. Bianca Marzouk00:45:33
This week’s episode is a special guest interview with love and sexuality coach Bianca Marzouk, where we are diving into the topic of how to embrace and express your feminine sexual power in your thirties.   Our thirties are the perfect time to start having these conversations and getting to know ourselves in a deeper more intimate way. It is crucial that women start to shed the fear and shame of speaking out loud about our sexuality and our feminine powers. Creating this dialogue is the first step to being more open about the way we express ourselves sexually, and this is the reason I have invited Bianca onto the podcast to discuss this powerful topic.   We take a deep dive into reasons that we can find out difficult to access our feminine power, an explanation of what it means to be in feminine energy (it’s really not what you think!), how this shows up in dating, feminine archetypes.   Bianca also gives some practical tips for where to start if you are ready to start exploring your feminine energy and want to embrace your feminine sexual expression in your thirties.  We also discuss why finding community and sisterhood is the ideal way to work on your feminine sexual expression.   If you want to explore a whole new side of the coaching and psychology world and get to know yourself and your powers as a woman, this episode is for you!   Turning 30 Coaching: Insta: @turning30coach Reclaim Program: https:/www.turning30coach.com/reclaim-your-thirties APPLY: https://www.turning30coach.com/apply-reclaim-your-thirties   Bianca Marzouk Love and Sexuality Coach: Insta: @Bianca.marzouk Website: www.biancamarzouk.com
05 Jul 2023GIRL TALK: The realities of dating in your thirties and how to get your dating mojo back ft Caitlin Smith01:04:00
Themes: dating, single life, dating apps, relationships, beliefs, mindset, self-love, confidence. On this week’s podcast episode I have invited back Caitlin Smith, better known as The Compatibility Coach, for an honest girl talk all about dating in your thirties. Let’s be real, dating can be tough and the online dating space today can cause many people to decide to throw the towel in altogether and to focus on other areas of life. But what does that mean for those who still want to meet somebody? Keep living your life and hope for the best? In this episode we dive into topics surrounding the realities of dating, and why so many of us experience dating burnout and feel that we are ‘interviewing’ for jobs roles. Caitlin shares her experience of never experiencing a relationship until her late twenties, and I share my story of being on and off single and what it was like re-entering the dating world again at age 33. We also discuss why the key to getting your sparkle back may be to take a step back and delete the apps, how our mindsets are key in transforming our dating lives, the part luck plays in meeting someone, how to not get obsessed with dating, the key differences between men and women in the dating world and how to be the one that is picking instead of waiting to be picked. If you ever feel exhausted from dating- or tend to avoid it altogether, this episode is for you! 07 Dec 2022Turning 30 and How to Have Your Best Year Yet Ft Natalie Pollock00:53:24
This week’s episode is one of my favourites because I have invited a Turning 30 coaching client with such a great story to share.    My client Natalie’s story is a special one. She literally used to eye-roll when it came to self-help and personal development, and now she is such an advocate for investing in yourself- as you will hear on the episode.   She really stepped up and invested in my Reclaim your Thirties group program and then continued her journey with 1:1 coaching which led her to some really wild transformations that happened in a relatively short space of time.   Natalie turned 30 during the pandemic and when she came out of the other side of it she felt like she had ‘lost’ those years- which I know so many resonate with. Instead of moping around, even though she had so many circumstances that could really keep HER stuck in victim mode- she took action and she managed to have her best year yet in 2022 .   This episode is full of so much goodness because what Natalie did is at the core of everything I stand for. She did the mindset work and what she created was a year where she could be her authentic self: she solo travelled, she stopped comparison even when she was bridesmaids multiple times over the summer and all her friends were getting married, she addressed her fertility worries and most of all she learnt so much.   If you struggle with comparison, feelings of being left behind whilst all your friends take the next steps, this client story will resonate with you and show you what is possible.   There are currently TWO spots left for private coaching starting in January 2023. 18 May 2023Turning 30 and Creating Financial Freedom by Learning How to Invest ft Dr Anna Emily01:06:40
In this week’s guest episode I sit down with Dr Anna Emily to talk all about investing and how to get started in creating wealth and building financial freedom. Anna is the founder of She’s So Money, a financial literacy and investing education company for women. She helps women learn how to keep, manage and grow their money and reach financial freedom more quickly and without the overwhelm. This is a topic that so many women shy away from learning about, and in our conversation Anna shares the reasons that we don’t feel comfortable to invest in the stock market and how we can overcome that fear so that we can educate ourselves, shift our money mindsets and start to invest. As well as sharing her own personal journey from spending all of her earnings to saving her first $100k, we discuss the reasons that many of us avoid this topic, the benefits of learning to control our money, why buying property and having a mortgage isn’t always the best option for creating wealth, and how to get started with saving if you are living paycheck to paycheck. 12 Jun 2024Reflections On My Journey of Being Single at 33 to Becoming a Mother at 3600:41:26
My journey of going through a break-up at 33 created panic about whether I would be able to have children and if time was ‘running out’ for me.   I used this time in my thirties to create a life that I love, whilst also focusing on my desire to meet someone and start a family with them.   Fast forward four years and my path unfolded and a few months before my 37th birthday I gave birth to Lenny, my first child. In this episode I am answering your questions about what it has been like to become a mother at this age, later than I had anticipated.   We live in a world where, despite the fact that becoming a mother from the ages of 35-40 is becoming more common, there are still fears and misconceptions about a woman’s ability to get pregnant after the age of 35.   The episode covers: Was it difficult to get pregnant at this age and did I use the eggs that I had frozen at age 35 The taboo of talking about getting pregnant successfully Was I treated differently in my pregnancy and birth because of my age (the term ‘geriatric pregnancy’ often scares women into having a baby) An honest and vulnerable share about the positives and negatives of having a baby at this age   If you are in your thirties and looking for love, I urge you to check out my Next Chapter in Love course.   This course is dedicated to helping you create the love life that you want in your thirties, embrace your single status, ditch the timelines and create a positive mindset in dating.  Register for your next chapter in love here:   If you like this episode, please review the podcast and share it with your friends,   IG: @turning30coach Website: www.turning30coach.com   Exhausted from dating but want to meet someone in your thirties?   My brand new course NEXT CHAPTER IN LOVE : how to build your next chapter in love is opening IS NOW LIVE. 04 Jan 2021Turning 30 and Facing Fear Feat. Ben Harris 'The Fear Guy'00:47:46
To celebrate the release of the 20th episode of the Podcast, I am interviewing my first ever male guest, life coach Ben Harris @the.fear.guy.   After 13 episodes interviewing women, I finally got to ask a male on the eve of his 30th birthday his point of view around the pressures men feel around turning 30 and if this is different from the way women approach this transitional time.   As well as discussing turning 30 (my favourite topic of course), I invited Ben to talk about all things fear. Fear is one of our greatest teachers, but it can be so delimitating when we try to resist it. We dive into what keeps us in our comfort zones, our worst case scenarios and our want to avoid them at all costs, fear of failure, fear of what people thing and most importantly: how to overcome these fears.   Tune in for a role play where I play a fearful client and Ben coaches me and gives me practical tips to help embrace fear and make life changes.   Turning 30 Coaching Details: Program: bit.ly/turning30program Instagram: @turning30coach   Ben Harris: Website: www.feeling-free.com Instagram: @the.fear.guy
12 Jan 2022Turning 30 and What Men In Their 30s Really Want ft. David Chambers00:48:31
Let’s be honest, those of us who are single and dating in our thirties have developed some beliefs around how straight men conduct themselves and there are some universal ‘truths’ that have developed on this topic: To name but a few: “All the good men are taken” “Men this age are scared of commitment” “Men aren’t as willing to do the work as women are”  “All men want is sex” “Men in their 30s are looking for younger women” Who better to verify these theories and to ask questions that represent all of the male population than a dating and intimacy coach for men?!   On this episode of the Turning 30 Podcast I have invited men’s life coach David Chambers onto the podcast for a no holds barred conversation on the topic of men and commitment, and to ask him the truth about what men in their thirties are looking for in a romantic connection.   As well as telling his own story of how he became a dating coach and breaking down the well-known stigmas around men in their thirties, David and I also dive into what men are truly looking for inside of a committed relationship, and it’s not what you think!!   I also used this conversation as an opportunity to ask him some personal questions I have been struggling with in my own dating life, and I have to say, David’s responses gave me so much food for thought on the way I view men and the way I show up in dating.   If you are on board with any of the above beliefs, are looking for some clarity on dating, and you are intrigued to hear about what men are really looking for from a relationship, this episode is for you.   **DISCLAIMER** This podcast is a discussion on the dating dynamic between heterosexual men and women.   Emma: Insta: @turning30coach Website: www.turning30coach.com   David: Insta: theauthenticman_ Website: www.theauthenticman.net

30 Sep 2022Turning 30 and When your Thirties Look Nothing Like you Planned in your Twenties ft Jelena Holodkova01:01:02
For most of us, a life where we hit all the milestones and tick all the ‘right’ boxes in our twenties is a path we were never on in the first place. But this is not the case for all of us. There are those who go through their twenties and successfully tick off all of the correct checklists and hit the milestones that society adores so much at exactly the expected time: Stable job in revered profession - tick Year on year promotion - tick Buying a property in London - tick Long-term relationship - tick Dream destination wedding - tick But what if something happens when you are 29 and your life turns upside down? What if you are thrown into a new reality as you face your thirties that you could never once have imagined. This is the story of this week’s podcast guest, Jelena Holodkova who seemingly had her twenties (and therefore her thirties) all figured out. Her circumstances changed, as she shares in the episode, and the result was a huge, life-altering shift into a fresh new start in her thirties. In this episode, Jelena vulnerably shares her story for the first time, of how her life once was and the big changes that ensued. We talk about how to navigate change, even when you didn’t choose it, how to deal with the aftermath of a break-up, being on autopilot and shifting into consciousness, dealing with burnout, letting go of the ‘shoulds’ and building a brand new aligned path. From leaving her successful corporate career in finance to building her own consultancy practice and business, to moving countries and traveling - Jelena’s thirties so far have been an incredible journey of self-development. Her story is powerful, inspiring and an important reminder of the resilience we have when things don’t go the way we expected. When I first heard her story, I knew one day I would share it with my audience. It’s been almost two years in the making- I hope you enjoy it! 05 Oct 2021Turning 30 and Creating The Life You Want Ft. Hillary McVeigh Manifestation Coach00:53:16
Listening to today’s episode is going to lift you into a place you didn’t even know you needed to be. I have invited my friend and Manifestation expert Hillary McVeigh to talk all about creating a life you love in your thirties. In her mid-twenties Hillary found herself working as a lawyer in a toxic workplace after following all of her ‘shoulds’. On reaching what she describes as her ‘rock bottom’, she took her future into her own hands and decided that she couldn’t continue on this path any longer. It was this breaking point that led her to explore self-development, spirituality and human design, eventually allowing her to build a life that felt right for her. This ultimately led to leaving law, relocating to Europe, becoming an entrepreneur and a coach and more recently, becoming a digital nomad in Costa Rica and Spain. As well as sharing her story, we delve into the practical side of manifestation. What really is manifestation if it isn’t just putting out an intention to the universe and waiting for something to happen? How can you embrace entering the world of self-development and the stigma that comes with it? What are practical steps for how to actively create an authentic and aligned life, instead of staying stuck where you are right now? This episode is a must-listen if you want the answer to any of these questions and if you have even a shred of doubt about your ability to take control of your future.   Emma Turning 30 Coach Details: Instagram: @turning30coach Waitlist for the next The Next Chapter: Reclaim Your Thirties Group Program (enrolment opening in October): https://bit.ly/nextchapterwaitlist     Hillary Details: Instagram: @designedasyou Website: www.hillarymcveigh.com
13 Apr 2022Turning 30 and How to Make New Friends in Your Thirties00:39:57
In the third and final instalment of Friendship month, I am giving you free exclusive access to one of the key modules of my brand new Friendships Mini-course: How to Make New Friends.   Whilst many people think that making friends in your thirties is more challenging than our younger years, I’m here to remind you that not only is it possible, but it is one of the most rewarding things you can focus your energy on at this age. In an ideal world, aligned friends that share similar values and lifestyles to us would organically appear on our doorsteps, however the reality of it is that we have to go out and consciously and intentionally make these friendships. And when we do, the connections that we create are fulfilling and uplifting. I have created a clear six stage process for how to make new friends, tried and tested over the past two years where this has been one of my key goals. This episode is for you if you have been feeling the urge to make new friends, struggle with loneliness and feel that your current friendships aren’t satisfying you, want to know where and how to make new friends To access the remaining 7 modules of the Friendship Mini-course for only $30 (£22) until the end of April (when the price goes sup to $99), buy it here: turning-30-coaching.teachable.com/p/friendships-in-your-30-s-mini-course   8 Audio modules packed full of coaching and content about how to have better friendships. 30 Mar 2023Turning 30 and Letting Go of Financial Expectations Ft. Ellie Austin-Williams00:49:27
What did you think you would have achieved financially by your thirties? Owning your own property? Being able to afford to rent and live alone? Buying designer handbags? Taking as many holidays as you wanted? For most of us, our thirties were a distant time in the future where we would have the pleasure of being able to afford what we wanted, when we wanted. After all, our parents did all of those things in their twenties- why should we expect any different! On this week’s episode, I have invited back money expert Ellie Austin-Williams to have an open and honest conversation all about the financial expectations most of us have in our thirties. The truth is, being in our thirties and not where we want to be when it comes to our finances is very confronting. And that’s why in this episode, Ellie and I are giving a voice to these important and sometimes ‘taboo’ topics.   Topics that we dive into include: Expectations at thirty and why we feel so much pressure at this age Comparison of financial status and how privilege shows up The current economy and cost of living crisis and how it is impacting our generation and the choices we make, from where we live to whether we want children Why millennials are so obsessed with owning a property, and other ways to look at this expected milestone Redundancy and how to make the most of big life changes and transitions   Ellie has appeared as an expert panelist for brands including Glamour and Monzo as well as providing insight and comment for Refinery29, Stylist, BBC News and more. Ellie is also the co-host of the podcast Money Unfiltered- and in this episode she shares so much knowledge and interesting insights.   Ellie: IG: @thisgirltalksmoney Website: https://www.thisgirltalksmoney.co.uk/   Emma: IG: @turning30coach   You are invited to join us for The Align Retreat taking place this August (3-7th) in Kent, UK. 11 May 2021Turning 30 and Setting Boundaries Part 100:30:07
In today’s solo podcast episode I am diving into a topic that has quickly become one of my favourite and most common topics to coach on: boundaries. This is the first in a two part series on boundaries, in which I teach the foundational concepts to help you live a life in alignment with who you really are and what you want to achieve.  In this first episode I explain what boundaries are, give examples of the different types of boundaries that you can set, and an explanation as to why setting boundaries is so important and powerful.  You will resonate with this episode and the concepts in it if you identify yourself as ‘people-pleaser’, someone who struggles to put their own needs before others, is highly sensitive to other people’s emotional states, often reflects on what other people will think before taking action, struggle with work-life boundaries, or if you find it difficult to commit to doing things for yourself on a regular basis. If any of these sound familiar, learning about boundaries is going to be a game-changer for you.  This is one of the main topics I am teaching in my upcoming group course ‘The Next Chapter’. Adding this to your daily routine is a sure-fire way to increase self-awareness, access your thoughts and to manage your mind. However, getting into a regular practice of journalling and getting value from it is not as easy as it seems. In this episode I share with you why I believe introducing journalling into your routine is a game-changer and I outline some basic tips and tricks that will help you get started.      Turning 30 Coaching Details: Program: bit.ly/turning30program Instagram @turning30coach
11 May 2022Turning 30 and Choosing an Alternative Path Ft. Emily Shain00:52:15
What does it mean to choose the alternative path? Sometimes in life we make decisions that aren’t exactly what our younger selves had in mind. Sometimes in life we make life choices that those around us don’t fully ‘get’, or that aren’t in line with the choices of our parents or peers. It takes a certain amount of courage to be able to stay true to yourself and do what is really calling you, and that is what this week’s podcast interview is all about. I have invited my friend and client Emily Shain to share with us her experience of not going down the conventional route, and following her intuition to become a yoga teacher, holistic therapist and coach in her twenties. Her journey has also led her to move countries TWICE in one decade, following her wish to live in nature and move to Panama, a place where she feels connected to her values. If you have ever considered making a life-changing decision (or have already made one) but you struggle with other people’s opinions or how to integrate what you really want with how your external reality looks, this episode is going to inspire and expand you. Most of all it's going to help you to know that you have the power to pick the path that is right for you. As well as sharing her personal story and how she has dealt with fear of other’s opinions and societies’ expectations, we also talk about practical tools of ‘embodiment’ i.e. how to actually become that person that you really want to be! 21 Jun 2023Turning 30 and the Truth About Starting a Relationship in your Thirties Ft Louise Rumball from OpenHouse Podcast00:55:49
There’s loads of information in the personal development world about being single and dating, or how to have a healthy relationship. But no one is talking about what it’s really like to start a new relationship in your thirties. Is meeting someone in your thirties a positive or negative thing? Is it the same as meeting someone in your teens or twenties, or does it feel different? Do people having more baggage and more exes effect how the relationship works? Is having a biological clock and undeniable time pressures an issue in starting a new relationship at this age? What effect does it have on your friendships and the other areas of your life? These are all the topics that I am discussing in this week’s podcast interview with returning guest Louise Rumball, host of the Open House podcast. Both Louise and I have started new relationships recently after periods of being single and going through big past break-ups and in this episode we sit down to share candidly about our stories starting new relationships in our thirties. This one is loaded with real-talk, vulnerable shares and expressing opinions and speaking out loud on a topic that you probably don’t usually hear in the online space. 06 Feb 2024How to Fully Accept the Path You Are On in your Thirties and Grieve the Path not Taken00:32:56
A one-off preview of a module from my brand new course Next Chapter in Love. Within the course, there are 27 self-study modules to help you transform your current love life, and this episode offers you an exclusive preview to one of the topics in the course.  After working with hundreds of women in their thirties, a pattern I often see is how many people feel frustrated or disappointed about how their thirties were not as they expected them to be.  When we hold on to a perception of how our lives ‘should look’, it affects how we accept where we are right now- and when it comes to our love life, this can often show up in how we date and approach our relationships.  In this solo episode I share my thoughts on how to accept the path that you are on, whilst also giving space to grieve the path never taken. This way, you can learn how to take healthy and conscious action steps to build your next chapter and break free from the past. My brand new course NEXT CHAPTER IN LOVE : how to build your next chapter in love is opening IS NOW LIVE. 24 Oct 2023Turning 30 and the Beauty of a Fresh Start00:40:01
I LOVE the concept that on any given day we can choose to have a fresh start. I also love the idea that our big birthdays (thirty and beyond) can be a signpost for us to create a new future and turn a new page, and this is exactly what this episode is all about: the beauty of a fresh start.   In the first solo episode of the brand new season of the podcast, I am diving deep into the theme of fresh starts: why we need them, how to know when a fresh start is just around the corner, and how to navigate building your next chapter in your thirties.    Often we are forced into a fresh start for unexpected reasons, a break-up, being fired, health reasons, but there are also many times when we are being called to start again but we just ignore the signs.    In this episode I talk about the three types of fresh starts that can redefine your 30s and empower you to create the life you desire.   I also dive into what resistance we may encounter, how the fear of change can hold us back, and address the common obstacles that might prevent you from taking that leap towards a fresh start and provide insights on how to overcome them.   We also delve into the distinction between your core values and the expectations society places on you, helping you gain clarity on what truly matters to you.   If you're seeking a fresh start that aligns with who you are, join us for this episode of the Turning 30 Podcast. It's time to honor yourself, embrace change, and embark on a new journey that celebrates your unique path in your 30s !   I am also excited to announce updates about the Turning 30 Podcast, including a brand new YouTube channel, that I would love for you to subscribe to to receive exclusive videos including monthly YouTube Q&As that won’t be available on the podcast. 04 May 2023Turning 30 and lessons learnt from over 1000 hours of Turning 30 Coaching Sessions00:53:40
To celebrate the 80th episode of the Turning 30 Podcast I have recorded a special episode sharing some of the findings and interesting things I have learnt from my thousands of hours spent in coaching session with thirty-something women. As well as being a coach, I feel as though I am also running a social experiment. I get front row seats to my client’s lives, their thoughts, their emotions and their behaviour. Day in, day out, we talk about all of the topics that are relevant to our age group. I get the privilege of seeing the inner workings of people’s minds and understanding how the affects their actions. I hear stories unfolding and get to be a witness to the process that my clients go through when dealing with big life changes, from career shifts, to break-ups and dating adventures, friendships and more. Almost two years ago I released an episode sharing what I have learnt from 500 hours of coaching sessions, and since then I have logged many more than that. To celebrate this milestone of 80 podcast episodes and the fact the doors are open to my Next Chapter program, I thought it was a good idea to add some near interesting insights and share them on the Podcast.   I think it’s safe to say I’m an expert in all things Turning 30! I have learnt SO much from my clients about turning 30 and growing up and in this special episode I share the findings of my social experiment of 1000 hours plus of conversations with all of you, so you can also get a true insight into turning 30 and most importantly, realizing that you are not alone. This episode is dedicated to my amazing clients. The Next Chapter group still has spots left!! It is an immersive group of women (it will likely be less than 10 of us) coming together weekly to learn coaching methods/tools that will help you to reach whatever goal/thing you are currently stuck on. This can be in relation to any area in your life- from careers/relationships/friendships/lifestyle. Register here: www.turning30coach.com/thenextchapter2023 Instagram: @turning30coach

Have you ever reached the point where you feel that you are doing ‘all the right things’, but you still aren’t getting what you want? This is how so many of us feel when we are looking for love. If you resonate with this, then I have an important message for you! One year ago, I was in this place. I couldn’t understand why I didn’t have what I truly wanted the most: love. 03 Apr 2024How to Embrace Aging and Self-Love in Your Thirties and Beyond Ft. Dr Amanda Hanson00:50:10
Dr Amanda Hanson worked for years as a clinical psychologist until pivoting to become a speaker, life coach and thought leader for women. Her brand Revolutionizing Midlife is about redefining and reclaiming what it means to be a woman and how we can refuse to subscribe to the aging ideals that dictate how women should be covering wrinkles with botox, dyeing their hair to cover up the greys, and to become less sexy and less outspoken as they mature. In this episode we delve into why women have been taught and signaled to think of aging as something negative and how we can start to shift this paradigm to revolutionise the way that we grow older. We discuss the difference between ‘Baby Princess’ and ‘Queen Energy’ and how to shift your energy and go out into the world each day feeling powerful and sexy (no matter your age). If you are ready to feel inspired about being in your thirties and growing older- this episode is for you!  **This episode was originally aired in 2022 and is a reply whilst Emma is on maternity leave. 18 May 2022Turning 30 and a Coaching Concept that will Change Your Life00:25:31
Today I am sharing a solo episode that I recorded in 2021 on what I believe is the most game-changing concept that I share with my clients: Emotional Adulthood.   As I am getting ready to invite you all to me next Reclaim group, I have been reviewing the work I have done with past clients and their testimonials, and almost every client I have worked with says learning about emotional adulthood and applying it to their lives created a huge shift in how they showed up and their relationships (with themselves and others).   In this episode, you’ll learn: ⁣The difference between emotional adulthood and emotional childhood, ways emotional childhood could be showing  up in different areas of your life and limiting  you from achieving the results you desire, how our own stories keep us stuck, and practical tips to rewrite a more empowering life narrative.    This is for you if you’re ready to take control of your own emotions so you can find happiness and contentment, no matter what’s going on around you.   Reclaim Group Waitlist: https://chipper-builder-227.ck.page/e03c3b1a53 Instagram: @turning30coach Website: www.turning30coach.com
22 May 2024How to Deal With Panic In Your Thirties, Feeling Lost and Doing The Work To Turn It All Around Ft Kam Sagoo01:00:17
This episode is a showcase of one of the most profound client transformations I have had the pleasure to support.   My client Kam’s life looked very different two years ago when she first reached out to me for a consultation call.   She was officially stuck in a rut. Just about to turn 30 she had a ‘good, stable’ job she didn’t like and had been debating leaving for a while, was in a relationship that she knew had no long-term future, was living at home with her parents and was struggling to see how she could get out of this situation to create a new future in her thirties.    After reading books and podcasts about personal development in 2020, she decided that she actually wanted to start to actually implement some of the things she was reading about and make big life changes. That’s what led her to coaching and to signing up to a 1:1 program.   Fast forward two years, her life has done a complete 180.   She ended her relationship, found a new job, bought her own place and moved out of her parents house and has spent the past year going on solo travel adventures and enjoying her life. Most of all the goal that she set, and is continuously working on, is having so much more life in her years, a mentality that Kam also has inspired me to adopt.   All of these external results are cause for celebration, but as you will hear in the episode, the biggest change of all was her mindset. Kam took a long, hard look at her thoughts and used coaching tools to create a new internal narrative. Through coaching, she has learnt to enjoy the journey that is life, and to stop worrying so much about the destination.   From panicking about being single and never meeting anyone, to now embracing her thirties and living a life on her terms, she is the perfect example of a Turning 30 success story.   **This episode was originally aired in 2023 and is a reply whilst Emma is on maternity leave. 31 Oct 2023Turning 30 and Getting a Divorce Ft. Jigna Patel00:45:50
Our life path is often set out for us before we even decide what we truly want for ourselves. And a lot of the time, that looks like finding the right person, settling down, and getting married. But what happens when you think you have gone down the right path, only to realize in your twenties that it’s actually not the right path for you.  I'm so excited to kick off our first guest episode of the new season with a guest who really embodies what it means to take hold of your thirties when things don’t go as planned. 02 Aug 2023Turning 30 and becoming a Solo Mother by Choice Ft. Ebony Hibbert00:53:54
In this week’s guest episode I sit down with Ebony Hibbert, Single Mother By Choice and mindset coach who empowers women in their 30's and 40's to reclaim control over their fertility journey, regardless of whether they have a partner or not. During our insightful conversation, Ebony shares with us her journey to becoming a solo mother and all of the twists and turns it took for her to reach the decision as she turned 40. However this conversation is about so much more than becoming a mother, as we dive into many topics related to dating and break ups in your thirties and the search to find a partner to have a child with, the power of mindset and subconscious beliefs affecting the result that you are trying to achieve (whether that’s trying to conceive or finding a partner) and the relief of not trying to follow traditional timelines and owning and embracing your own path. It is such an empowering episode for any woman who feels that her timelines aren’t as she expected them to be in her thirties and fourties. Ebony candidly shares her own experiences and the stories of her clients who have embraced this path. If you're a woman in your 30's or 40's looking to redefine your journey, embark on solo motherhood, or explore options for your fertility, this episode is a must-listen. 12 Dec 2023How to Make New Friends in Your Thirties00:38:59
Carrying on the conversation all around friendships in your thirties, I am giving you free exclusive access to one of the key modules of my Friendships Audio Course: How to Make New Friends. I have created a clear six stage process for how to make new friends, tried and tested over the past two years where this has been one of my key goals. This episode is for you if you have been feeling the urge to make new friends, struggle with loneliness and feel that your current friendships aren’t satisfying you, want to know where and how to make new friends To access the remaining 7 modules of the Friendship Audio Course, register here: turning-30-coaching.teachable.com/p/friendships-in-your-30-s-mini-course 8 Audio modules packed full of coaching and content about how to have better friendships. 02 Jun 2023Turning 30 and Owning Your Timelines Ft Laura Behnke00:59:16
This week's podcast episode is a replay of one of the most popular Turning 30 episodes from 2022. +++++++ When we are growing up, many of us are told that we are capable of achieving anything in life that we want. A good career? You go and get it! Move to a new city? Go for it! A great social life? All yours. A committed, long-term relationship? Of course it will happen for you! But what happens when you get to 35 and you haven’t ticked off everything on the list? What happens when a relationship not only hasn’t happened up until now, but seems like it never will? That is the story of this week’s podcast guest, Laura Behnke. Living in the city of her dreams (New York) and in a high achieving career (as a successful tv anchor) her life was panning out as she had wanted, apart from the fact that at the age of 35 she had never been in a long-term relationship. She spent her early thirties focused on her romantic life and believed that because she hadn’t yet met someone, that there was something wrong with her.   SPOILER ALERT: There was absolutely nothing wrong with her! Shortly after making some big mindset shifts following her 35th birthday, she met her husband.   In this episode Laura shares with us her story, of how she went from panicking and not enjoying her thirties, to feeling calm and accepting of her timelines, and eventually meeting her partner and having a child in her 40s.   If you are looking for some inspiration and expansion- Laura’s story and this is the episode for you!   Laura: IG: @laurabbehnke   Emma: IG: @turning30coach 1:1 coaching spots open for June: www.turning30coach.com/coaching The Align Retreat details: www.turning30coach.com/retreat

17 Jan 2023Turning 30 and Breaking Free From Family to Live Your Own Path Ft Taylor Amrani00:56:25
“We can’t control the family that we are born into and the choices our parents make for us, but we can control how we choose to live our own lives”, the wise words of this episode’s podcast guest, spiritual teacher and podcast host Taylor Amrani, who I invited on to talk about how we can live our own truth, even when it is different than the life our parents imagined for us.   In this episode we dive into the topic of breaking free from our family’s expectations, and Taylor shares her personal journey with her own father who was originally disappointed that she gave up an opportunity to study law, to pursue her dream to be a life coach.   Over the years Taylor has learnt to practice empathy and compassion for her parent’s choices, has increased confidence to break free and live her own path and has set out to live that path by remote working and traveling all around the world in 2022 at the age of 28.   Making decisions that look different to what your parents or family expect of you can be very difficult, and this episode gives a voice to the challlenges that you may experience and the feelings of guilt or doubt that you may go through as a result. We have an honest conversation about how to deal with these emotions, and we even talk about how our grandma’s can give us inspiration to how to live our truth.   If you want to be inspired to live a more authentic path and to break free from the way you imagined or have been taught your life will look, this one is for you.   Emma:   Emma: IG: https://www.instagram.com/turning30coach/ Book an initial consult call for 1:1 coaching:https://calendly.com/turning30coach/turning30program   Taylor: IG: https://www.instagram.com/lifebytaylor/ Website: www.lifebytaylor.com

15 Jun 2022Turning 30 and Let’s Talk About Money ft Ellie Austin-Williams00:55:25
Today’s episode is about a topic that so many of us avoid talking about but has such a significant impact on the way we feel about being in our thirties: MONEY.  I have invited Ellie Austin-Williams onto the podcast for one of my most interesting guest interviews yet. After becoming Bored of the same old financial content written by middle-aged men, Ellie set up This Girl Talks Money to tackle the money taboo and help women gain ownership of their finances. Whether we like it or not, most of the big life decisions that we make, where to live, where to work, what our lifestyle looks like, if we want to travel, if we want to have a wedding or bring children into the world are influenced by the way we feel and approach money. In this candid conversation Ellie and I dive into: Why people find it so uncomfortable to talk about money, yet why we should be having these conversations more openly and more often. Why money is such a determining factor in how you feel about being in your thirties. Why people are SO obsessed with buying property. How to cope with all the money we spend as hen party and wedding guests.  Practical tools to get started with saving money and taking control of your finances.  This is an episode and a topic that every single one of us should be talking about, full of interesting statistics, insights and opinions, and one that you do not want to miss! 10 Aug 2022Turning 30 and Becoming a Mid-Life Muse ft Dr Amanda Hanson00:48:46
This week’s guest is spearheading a movement and I am proud to say I am one of her biggest supporters. Dr Amanda Hanson worked for years as a clinical psychologist until switching to become a transformational life coach for women. Her brand Revolutionizing Midlife is about redefining and reclaiming what it means to be a woman 40+. As we discuss in the episode, although her target audience is women over the age of 40, she has found that her message attracts 20 and 30 year olds who are looking for a role model. The reason being, that talking about ageing and mid-life as something beautiful, sexy and something to embrace is almost non-existent. Enter Amanda: refusing to subscribe to the ageing ideals that dictate how women should be covering wrinkles with botox, dyeing their hair to cover up the greys, and to become less sexy and less outspoken as they mature. Speaking out about letting women age naturally and to take their power back as they enter mid -life, Amanda’s videos have become a Tik Tok sensation. And for good reason (watch them and you will see!) In this episode we delve into why women have been taught and signalled to think of ageing as something negative and how we can start to shift this paradigm to revolutionise the way that we grow older. We discuss the difference between ‘Baby Princess’ and ‘Queen Energy’ and how to shift your energy and go out into the world each day feeling powerful and sexy (no matter your age). If you are ready to feel inspired about being in your thirties and growing older- this episode is for you!  Amanda: IG: https://www.instagram.com/midlife.muse/ Website: https://amandahanson.com/ Emma: IG: https://www.instagram.com/turning30coach/   Website: https://turning30coach.com
15 Sep 2022Turning 30 and Trying Something New, Even When the Odds are Against You Ft. Liv Woodhouse00:55:49
For so many of us, the past two years have seen our careers taking big, unexpected turns: leaving positions, setting up own side-hustles and businesses and making unplanned career pivots. When my client Liv reached out to me in January 2021, she had reached a huge crossroads in her career and was ready to make some big decisions about what to do next. After over 10 years of working in the events industry and holding a senior Events Director position at an esteemed company in London, Liv had made the bold decision to leave her role and during our coaching together, decided to become self-employed. Since then, Liv has created a thriving business in the Events industry, taking her expert knowledge and using it to become her own boss. She did this in a climate where many would never have dared, and yet despite the odds being against her, she still succeeded.  Is running your own business a bed of roses? Of course not! But as you will hear in our conversation, the journey from employee to self-employed is so rewarding. In this episode we discuss how to make hard career decisions when you are stuck in the frustrating place of the “I don’t know”, how to embrace a CEO mindset after so many year of working for someone else, setting boundaries in your business, embracing your own email style and how to deal with the identity shift after leaving full-time employment. Liv’s story is such a great example of stepping up and taking a risk-  even when you know you may fail. This is the second episode in a special podcast series dedicated to sharing stories of those who have taken huge leaps in their careers, leaving the 9-5 and now working for themselves in something that they deeply love and care about. 23 Dec 2022Turning 30 and How to Turn it All Around ft. Kam Sagoo00:59:28
To join my ‘Re-deciding 2023 event’ on January 1st- follow me on Instagram @turning30coach and make sure to tune in to the LIVE at 6:30pm UK time, 1:30pm EST.

30 Nov 2021Turning 30 and How to Hack Time Ft. Vikki Louise00:50:44
I have invited back the first ever Turning 30 Podcast guest and my good friend Vikki Louise for a very important and unique episode all about how to hack time. Vikki is a feminist time coach, and she works with clients to help them achieve more in their lives, without time being a limiting factor. Originally working in the corporate world in her twenties, Vikki went from hustling with 80 hour work weeks, to creating a 15 hour work week for herself. Being a thought leader in this area, Vikki has developed her own theories and methods around how to hack time that you most likely have never heard of before, and in this episode she is sharing them with me. We discuss the outdated time concepts and rules that we have been conditioned to believe and talk about why these no longer apply (spoiler: Color-coding your to-do list isn’t the long-term fix) and we also offer practical tips for how to take back control of the way you perceive time If you ever tell yourself you are ‘too busy’, feel overwhelmed with your ‘to-do list, struggle with finding work:life balance (or any balance) or feel that in some way time is too short, then this episode is for you.   Vikki: Instagram: @feministimecoach Website: https://www.vikkilouise.com/ Emma: Instagram: @turning30coach Website: www.turning30coach.com

In this week’s special format guest episode I am sitting down with love and dating expert Caitlin aka The Compatibility Coach and we are answering the questions I most get asked by my community. The questions we are answering are: Is there such thing as ‘manifesting love’ - is this even possible and if so, HOW?! How can you stay hopeful in love when you’ve been single and dating for years on end? How can you actually meet people apart from going on the dating apps? How to get back into dating if you’ve been out of the game for years and the thought of it is terrifying? We also get personal and share our own stories of how and where we met our partners, and delve into our own dating and love journeys up until now.   If you like this episode and have more questions for us on the topic of love and dating, please send them to Emma @turning30coach or emma@coachingwithemma.com.
