THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #16 Released October 27th, 2021 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Clayton Cowles (Apparently Travis Lanham was on vacation) Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Variants by Nabetse Zitro and Morry Hollowell, and Rob Liefeld Production Designer: Anthony Gambino Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (Courtesy of Wiki): While Rebecca practices to get familiar with her combat suit, Jess voices to Lindsey her reservations on letting her niece go into a superhuman fight. So on Lindsey's advice, Jess talks with Rebecca and, seeing her determination and physical capability, begrudgingly agrees to bring her into the fray. Later, Rebecca directs Jess to help infiltrate her dad's company again to retrieve "backup" and the topic also brings up the cure for her condition, which Rebecca refuses to take. Entering the break room, Rebecca destroys a pool table and breaks into a safe to vent her frustrations on her father's easy manipulation by Rose, even though Jess tries rationalizing Michael's steadfast obsession to finding a cure. But once Rebecca finds what she was after, Rose and Michael enter the room, with Michael's monologuing on Rebecca becoming "normal" is clear that Rose is leading him. An enraged Rebecca attacks both of them out the window, falling past the windows of a residential building as Jess tries to communicate the need to not endanger civilians while also learning Michael has organic web-shooters because the male Latrodectus Aeternum spin webs, and she's miffed at not having that ability. At ground level, Jess tries to get Rebecca to think, but Rebecca's immediate comment leads her to realize that she wasn't truly prepared, even blaming herself for events thinking that none of Rose's manipulations would have occurred had she just been cured. After hugging and one bad joke later, Jess and Rebecca move to confront Rose and Aeternum. Elsewhere, Rose is on her cell calling for a trace when a momentarily clear-minded Michael asks if she did try to kill Rebecca. When Rose dodges with a question, Michael gets aggressive and both are soon found by Jess and Rebecca, leading to Jess fighting Michael while Rebecca fights Rose. But while Jess tries to reason that Michael stop to help Rebecca instead of controlling what he thinks is best for her, Michael takes Jess over the ledge just as Rose overpowers Rebecca in their fight. Michael breaks Jess's arm once they hit the street below, threatening to break more as he is stronger. With Rose distracted by Michael fighting Jess, Rebecca sneakattacks Rose to inject her with what she took from the safe, making a Wicked Witch joke as they plummet. Remembering her time on the serum, Jess entraps Michael in a close quarters maneuver to use her suit's ability to discharge concentrated Venom Blast through Michael's body. On the street below, Rebecca finds her father burnt by Jess's Venom Blast but alive, as Jess sees Rose seemingly aged into a quinquagenarian. Rebecca reveals she was injected with the "flu shot" that was used to disable Jess's radiation immunity powers a while back; Michael told her where to find it in case of emergencies, the irony not lost on them finding a greater effect on Rose than on Jess. But as Jess has Avengers connections to rehabilitate them, she lets Rebecca choose and she chose to leave enough money in Michael's personal funds for them to leave town, threatening to stop them should they ever return for Jess or Gerry. As Michael departs after a tearful goodbye, Jess gives Rebecca a shoulder to cry on while heading to Linda Carter's for treatment. After what they went through, Rebecca makes no plans to be a superhero and aims to run the company to repair whatever damages Michael might have made in his obsession to fix her condition, and also invites Jess to play shortstop for the company softball team. Things don't look all too good for Jess as she teams up with Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) to try and track down the High Evolutionary. THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #6 Released 18th November 2020 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Editor(s) Jake Thomas, Lindsay Cohick SYNOPSIS (by Wiki): Due to her treatment with Marchand Serums being temporary fixes, an ailing Jessica (Spider-Woman) is aided by Carol (Captain Marvel) during a raid on the moon of Counter-Earth in search of Herbert Wyndham, the High Evolutionary, the only other person with the knowledge to possibly cure Jessica. Finding an old computer, a partial translation leads the duo to "Scav City" in search of Sphinxor; all while Carol repeatedly offers her own resources to help, which Jess repeatedly refuses. Entering the Scav City pub, Carol updates Jess on the blood tests Linda took of her, while Jessica physically intimidates people in an attempt to gain more information about the location of Sphinxor. After figuring out where he is and attaining coordinates to set a course to, Tony Stark calls Jessica to check in to check on his spaceship, as Jess previously promised to "probably" not blow it up. However, at that same time, Counter-Earth space defenses shoot the ship down. Carol flies Jessica down to a temple where they are greeted by its keepers, who reveal that the High Evolutionary previously returned to the temple by their summons but then departed to parts unknown immediately after. After Carol asks for a spacecraft, Jess grows sickly and demands more formula from a defiant Carol. The two return to Earth after Carol is called back for an imminent event, forcing an agitated Jess to part ways and find people with connections to clone-makers and serum developers— the likely contacts for Wyndham to collaborate with. Going slightly off-world, Jess finds a possible new lead to Wyndham, but after ignoring another call from Carol she looks up into the sky to see dragons, realizing that the threat the Avengers were facing had begun. THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #17 - ‘Shoot out at the Oh No Corral’ Released November 17th, 2021 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Variants by Pere Perez & Frank D’Armata Production Designer: Anthony Gambino Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (Courtesy of Wiki): At the East Harlem clinic of Linda Carter, Linda tells a frustrated Jess that she is delaying her full recovery by moving her broken arm too much, and cannot use her powers until it is healed or risk further bracing in a cast. Begrudgingly agreeing to doctor's orders, Jess asks Linda to baby sit Gerry while she visits Lindsey working as a stuntwoman for film star, Stevie Ciconia, claiming herself a Spider-Woman fan and requesting the heroine visit. There, while bemused by other film projects, Spider-Woman meets Stevie who wanted to know if she could get in touch with the Avengers to help with free press on Stevie's film. Heading to the set of the next scene, Jess hangs with stunt coordinator Gunnar, who shows Jess the sequence just before it is carried out by Lindsey. Seeing Lindsey finish and be cleaned off of her flame retardant stunt layers, the set is attacked by actual ninjas sent for Lindsey by Madripoor gangster, Mack Duffin. Unable to use her Venom Blasts due to her broken arm, Spider-Woman is forced into melee combat with the ninjas, then asks Lindsey if she's a good mother. While Lindsey believes her to be so, Spider-Woman feels as though she has been shifting her responsibilities to be more active as a superhero. Taking down the last ninja, Jess finds that Gunnar was filming their fight and was interested in getting her to do more stunt work, to which Jess politely refuses. With the stunt team tying down the ninjas for the NYPD to take into custody, Stevie tries again to get the Avengers for her PR by brown-nosing Spider-Woman, who promises the actress's name will come up when next she talks with the Avengers. As the Ninjas are taken away, Jess voices concern for Lindsey's wellbeing while also adamant on talking about her taking money from gangsters from Madripoor. Wanting to talk after getting cleaned, Lindsey directs Jess to the craft services table where she pends the following 20 minutes eating up. However, upon her return to Lindsey's trailer, Jess is shocked to find it ransacked and the message "This is all your fault, Jessica Drew!" on the mirror. Jess questioning what the hell is happening. THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #10 Released 17th March 2021 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Production Designer: Anthony Gambino Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (by Seren): After being thrown into Wyndham’s array, Jessica has been cured of the illness that has been plaguing her though not before she was able to prevent Octavia from killing her daughter Ophelia. Jess, no longer under Octavia’s influence, plays it cool as Octavia disposes of her daughter’s body and we learn that Octavia has been killing and re-cloning her daughter in a quest for the perfect child. Now, with Wyndham’s cure at her disposal and Wydham himself out of the equation, she can make an entire army of clones to have at her beck and call. However, Jess hasn’t been playing it as cool as she thought, as Octavia reveals that she knew Jess was no longer under her thumb. A battle ensues as Jess tries to prevent Octavia from stepping into the array. As Jess and Octavia duke out their differences, Octavia reactivates Miriam’s clones. In the resulting melee, she loses the device used to program them and the clones all run to their death in an effort to save it. Meanwhile, Jess is able to revive the High Evolutionary, who makes it to the console in time to alter his array. Jess is able to push Octavia into it and instead of being cured, Octavia is turned into one of his dinosaur hybrids. After assuring Jessica that he can get both the array and Octavia fix, The High Evolutionary promises Jessica that she has free access to use it for whoever needs it. He offers to let her come with him back to Wundagore to continue her parents’ research, but Jessica declines in favor of returning to her family and making amends with those she had hurt. After a tearful reunion with Gerry and Roger, Jess heads to Linda’s office, where she uses Gerry’s adorable face and cookies to make her apologies. Her friends accept the bribe, however Carol isn’t there and after a talking to from Rhodey, Jessica seaks her out. Jess and Carol meet up in a Coffee Shop, where Carol calls Jess out on her behavior. Carol states that she isn’t sure she can believe that Jess can change, but she’s going to try. Jess promises that she’ll try harder and the two hug. Later, as Jess is putting Gerry to bed, she replaces his dinosaur plushie with a Jeff the Land Shark one. Roger asks what Jess wants to do with her suit, and initially, Jess tosses it (and the dinosaur) into the trash. THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #13 Released July 14th, 2021 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Captain America Variant Cover by Steve McNiven Production Designer: Anthony Gambino Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (Courtesy of Wiki): After Fireball breaks into Jess's apartment, she battles the mercenary only to learn mid-fight that her target was a floppy disk Jess had on the High Evolutionary and has no idea who Jess even is. Irritated at being unrecognized again, Jess lets it slide as Gerry zaps Fireball long enough for Jess to throw her out through the window onto a taxi cab next to a startled Lindsay McCabe. Once Jess sees Lindsey is OK, and ensures Gerry is secure in his high chair for Lindsey to watch him, she dresses up as Spider-Woman and pursues Fireball. Chasing Fireball to the Subway, angry at a comment she made about Gerry, Spider-Woman battles her in a confined subway car. Knocking Fireball out the window, the thief passes her objective to her partner, Bruiser, who rampages through a public gathering. Finding it refreshing he knows who she is, Spider-Woman is blindsided by Bruiser tossing a horse at her and he escapes on the 39th Street Ferry. Not willing to wait for the next ferry, Spider-Woman gets a ride by the NYPD Harbor patrol to catch up to Bruiser in Hoboken, NJ. There, Bruiser steals a monster truck and leads Spider-Woman on a chase, crashing into Newark Liberty Airport. Once inside, Bruiser is knocked out by Lady Bullseye, angered at his tardiness. The two fight, with Spider-Woman jumping onto Lady Bullseye's jetpack and colliding onto the wing of a plane after take off. When Lady Bullseye sees the plane of her commissioner, she fights with Spider-Woman until the latter gets one over on her to kick her off the wing. Using a suit modification, Spider-Woman channels a Venom Blast from her fist to her boot and sends Lady Bullseye falling. Making her way to the lane window, Spider-Woman is angrily panicked to find her brother Michael and realizes he bought Lady Bullseye's services. EPISODE 35: The Spider-Babies, Seren and Rey see out the rest of the year with a fun-filled chat on the second issue of Jess' OG series - SPIDER-WOMAN VOL. 1 #2 'A Sword in Hand' Writer(s)Penciler(s)Inker(s)Colorist(s)Letterer(s)Editor(s)SCORES: Seren - 4/5, Rey - 3.5/5 Tears of Loneliness Remember - To Know Her Is To Fear Her! Enjoy! SYNOPSIS (courtesty of Wiki): Jessica Drew, as Spider-Woman, finds herself drawn to Britain's Natural History Museum in London, and specifically towards Morgan le Fay's Excalibur. However before she can pull the sword out of the stone, she is confronted by officers of Scotland Yard and is forced to flee. This gives Slapper Struthers, a thief who broke into the museum, a moment alone to pull the sword out himself.[Continuity 1] In doing so, he is connected through the ages to Morgan le Fay, who chooses him to be her tool in the modern age. She sends the soul of a knight to possess Struthers' body changing him into her warrior, Excalibur. When the police officers hear the commotion, Excalibur attacks them, drawing Spider-Woman back to defend them, but she is knocked out by one of his mystical blasts for long enough to allow him to escape. Exhausted by her encounter, Spider-Woman leaves the scene and returns home to rest. The next day, as Jessica Drew, Spider-Woman attempts to find employment with minimal success. Walking the streets of London she once more believes that people's aversion to her is because experiments conducted on her years ago by the High Evolutionary has made her more than human, and people can sense this on an unconscious level.[Continuity 2] Eventually, she is drawn into the shop of Charles Magnus, who promises to read her fortune for free. He tells her that he sees a great destiny in store for her in America. At that same moment, Jerry Hunt -- a SHIELD liaison to Scotland Yard -- continues to obsess over the files about Spider-Woman and once more orders her to be brought to him. His colleague, Frank, is concerned about his obsession with this mystery woman and asks why he is so determined to find her. After a moment to think it over, Jerry admits that he has fallen in love with the masked vigilante. Meanwhile, Slapper Struther's is in an Underground station when some force pushes him out onto the tracks. This is Mordan le Fay, who transforms Struthers into Excalibur once. Seeing an approaching subway train as a dragon, he destroys it with a single swing of his enchanted sword. She then orders Excalibur to return to the surface. There he uses his magical abilities to summon a horse so he can carry out his mission for her. By this time, Jessica Drew has returned home to think about what Magnus told her, and contemplates about going to America. Going out for a walk, she sees Excalibur on the rampage and changes into Spider-Woman to try and stop him. She fails to stop Excalibur from making his way to the shop owned by Charles Magus. Setting the building ablaze, Excalibur demands that Magnus turn over a book of spells so that he can give it to his master. However, Magnus refuses to turn over the book as the black arts must not be used ever again. As Spider-Woman recovers from Excalibur's attack, word of her battle reaches Jerry Hunt who rushes to the scene. At that moment, Magnus distracts Excalibur long enough for Spider-Woman to knock his sword out of his hand. She then prevents him from recovering it long that the warrior reverts back to normal. Slapper Struthers is then knocked out by Spider-Woman with a single punch. In the aftermath of the battle, Magnus explains that Morgan le Fay is an old enemy of his, despite the gulf of centuries that separate them. Then, with a wave of his hand, Magnus makes his shop disappear and tells Spider-Woman that their destinies await them in America. By the time Jerry Hunt and the authorities arrive on the scene the only thing they find is the unconscious body of Slapper Struthers. Pinned to his shirt is a note that simply reads "America Spider-Woman". Deducing that Spider-Woman is going to the United States, Jerry decides to put in a request to his superiors at SHIELD so he can follow her there. VENOM BLASTS (things to look out for in episode)!!

Enjoy! SYNOPSIS (courtesy of Rey): Jessica confronts her father on board a Hydra base and overcome with emotion, Jessica is met with a purely scientific and analytical curiosity. Jonathan appears more amazed at the specimen of Jessica Drew, rather than the fact that his daughter is alive and well…and the emotion from the years that they hadn’t been in contact, appears to be alien to him. It also is confirmed from Jonathan that Hydra had conditioned Jess’ brain to punish her whenever she defies Hydra, and to Jess’ disappointment, Jonathan admits that he is happy at Hydra. Jessica soon realises the selfishness of her father, and storms out intent on annihilating the base. As the base is destroyed at the hands of Spider-Woman, Madam Viper and a deformed (yet alive) General Wyndham call upon the survivors of the Athena Project - super soldiers created by Jonathan and based from the DNA of Jessica Drew. Meanwhile, Viper attempts to get Jonathan to safety, however it seems that Jonathan finally has some change of heart, and in an act of defiance and surrender, Jonathan refuses to leave. Viper callously shoots him, claiming that two more of his kind can easily take his place. Back on the main deck, Spider-Woman attacks all Athena Project soldiers, despite some of their protests, however iit proves to be merely a diversion, as the base then explodes into a massive fireball. Spider-Woman survives and half conscious, she is taken in by one of the arriving SHIELD hellicarriers. Days later, Nick Fury meets with Jessica and offers an open door at SHIELD, to which she is grateful for the gesture at least. The west coast looks promising for her, and before she departs from Fury, Jessica offers her services as a private investigator, claiming she’s only just getting started. Production Designer: Anthony Gambino Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (Courtesy of Wiki): Dazed and battered, Jess is nudged awake by Rebecca after she lost a fight with Michael, now dubbed Aeternum. Once conscious, Jess is panicked that she was flying in her sleep only to be updated on a bigger issue: there's a bomb in the back seat. With less then ten seconds, Jess grabs Rebecca and Marv, and the trio base jump from the exploding helicopter to glide to safety. Confused and unable to recall events, Rebecca informed Jess of her father having a meltdown before Rose used her pheromones to calm him and hypnotize Jess into taking her into the rigged helicopter, but Rebecca was conscious during her own hypnosis and remembered well. Too addled by events, Jess focuses on getting Rebecca to safety before thinking of how Rose controlled Michael. After a slight jest about Rebecca having a safe house with ponies, Jess immediately remembers that Rose knows where she lives, where Lindsey is babysitting Gerry. As Rose's men break in and trash the apartment looking for the files, some of them attack Lindsey as she defends Gerry until Jess arrives in time to relieve Lindsey and dispatch the assailants. Escaping with the files and a to-go bag, Jess and Lindsey meet Rebecca in a Taxi directing to ESU where she gets special student housing after Michael made a generous donation. Shocked that her niece is working on her Master's Degree, Jess promises Rebecca her father's safe return, before asking about her mother. Rebecca details her mother Alison Jones, how she and Michael fell in love after meeting, and how they were eventually pregnant with Rebecca. Then the radiation emissions from the pregnancy slowly killed Alison and crippled Rebecca at birth, with Michael later made aware of details by Miriam and the radiation in his DNA. Michael blamed himself for Alison's death and Rebecca's physical debilitation, motivated by his personal tragedies to help people. Arriving at Rebecca's "quarters" on ESU, she reveals that she took research and tech from Miriam and Michael to fashion her own lab for remedying herself. Despite Jessica's plea that they approach Stark for the tech needed or return to Wyndham, Rebecca remains adamant that she isn't helpless and remains motivated to save her father. As Rebecca made her own Spider-Woman suit from the materials Miriam used way back, Lindsey applauds her ingenuity while trying to convince Jess to help. Initially refusing, Jess comes around when thinking about how her own life choices at Rebecca's age were taken from her, and agrees to help Rebecca. THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #21- ‘And Now Everything Happens' Released March 30th, 2022 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Variants by Pere Perez & Frank D’Armata; David Nakayama Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (Courtesy of Wiki): Outside her front door, Jessica Drew comes face to face with the Anti-Arach9 who attack her home as Jess saves the pizza guy from a crashing monster truck. Getting into her super suit, Jessica reflects on her past encounters with her enemies newly united-- except the truck driver, he remains a mystery to her. Unsurprised to find Octavia Vermis among them, she notes the team name branding before climbing up, calling Carol to evacuate Rebecca and Gerry from the scene. Carol agrees and removes them via flying away from the scene, despite Rebecca's protest to want to help given that her father is among the villains. Inside, Lady Bullseye is accompanied by Los Espadas Gemelas as they race to the roof via the stairs, but are intercepted by Lindsay McCabe. While Lindsay does her best with a child's high seat, she is knocked down by Los Espadas and takes injury. On the roof, Jess fights the Brothers Grimm noting she doesn't keep them in mind, and Stegron attacking her for her recent past theft[1] but he doesn't attack Octavia due to his attraction to her. Overpowering Jess, he throws her threw several floors onto Los Espadas, luckily rescuing Lindsay. As Stegron charges, Jess informs him that Octavia helped steal his DNA for a cure for Jess's condition[2] and showcases her recovery by countering his attack with a body throw into the wall. Ignoring a bad joke from Lindsay, Jess gets Lady Bullseye's attention recalling the jetpack incident[3] but throws her into the path of Barton Grimes's attack, handing Lindsay her katana. Attacking Percy mistaking him for Barton, Jess just tells him that she fought them long ago and barely even remembers them, not sure why they're attacking now. Flanked by Los Espadas, they nearly overwhelm Jess until Lindsay joins in and uses the katana to deflect a pierce by Ray and crushed both of his robotic hands. Jess and Lindsay cooperate to takedown the swashbuckling brothers, cracking wise sending them back to Ohio despite not being from there. Leaving Lindsay to go face her enemies, Jess is blindsided by a sudden thwip and brought before Octavia and the rest of the Anti-Arach9 taking turns beating on her. Carol returns with a tactical helicopter from Rebecca's persuasion, as the cargo container attached to it is equipped with a T-Rex with gatling guns for arms, ridden by Rebecca in her combat gear. Rebecca attacks her father Aeternum for his return, voicing how it was his blinded ambition and easy manipulation by Rose Roché that turned him into a villain. Jess intercepts Rose before she can interfere with Rebecca's fight, breaking Rose's arms equipped with magic bracers, drawing Aeternum's attention for a fight. At the front door, Krazy Goat (Perry P. Parish) awakens to an auditory hallucination of his departed wife's image. Reminding him that their dream monster truck was meant for love not revenge, and he hears her say she knows he'll do the right thing. As Jess is on the ground in pain, counting down how many of them she took down and debating if the Grimms or Espadas count as one or two, Rebecca swats her father off of Jess. However, Octavia throws her pet at Rebecca to then hijack her tactical assault t-rex, and readies to attack Jess. But Krazy Goat arrives in time to ram the T-Rex and send Octavia flying, and Jess beats her down without care for her rant about how she and her are similar. Dispatching a fury of attacks, Jess finishes her combo with a Venom Blast Kick to Octavia's skull, knocking her out. Tired, Jess rests for a second while Lindsay still asks if they're still going to Madripoor and Jess painfully confirms. Once Carol arrives with Gerry and Rebecca asks their next step, Jess opts for the usual path and send the villains to a long term prison stint, even if it is doubtful. Still needing to catch her flight with Lindsay, and wash her suit smelling of dinosaur, she plans to gather what remains of their luggage. Across from them, Perry calls for a tow truck and uses his gold auto club membership to expedite the process. After Jess is recomposed, she situates herself on a rooftop overlooking the city, reflecting on her unfinished business and expects an adventure. She is Jessica Drew, and she is Spider-Woman. THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #12 Released May 12th, 2021 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Production Designer: Anthony Gambino Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (Courtesy of Wiki): As Jess gets a call that Luis wants to talk to her from his holding cell, Roger asked to accompany her but was refused as there was no time. At Metro Correctional, Luis explains that the twin swords he and Ray use were forged by brothers in Spain centuries ago, brought to the Americas with Conquistadors, and used to take land from Native Mesoamericans. When those brothers were killed, the blades were kept in their family's possession under guard until "worthy" hands could wield them again. As Spider-Woman acknowledges their motivation, she soon realizes she was called into a trap as Ray breaks into the jail, killing guards to free his brother. As they fight, Ray cuts the bars of numerous jail cells to free prisoners that attack Jess while he frees Luis. However, Ray ignores his brother's request for his sword, as both blades are making him feel like he can defeat Spider-Woman. Disarming him, Jess can sense the mystical bloodlust in the swords and buries it into the wall before suppressing the rest of the riot. Luis, seeing his brother lost to the madness from the swords, fights and severs his brother's hand to stop him. Battered from stopping the riot, Spider-Woman uses her detachable wings as war fans to fight Luis, who blames her for Ray's madness and aimed to kill her. She parries and stops him, leaving the brothers to stay and be incarcerated for their crimes as she heads home to recover. At home, Roger talks with Jess, feeling disrespected and unneeded, with her unable to refute him. While saying he'll be available to babysit Gerry if she needed him to do so, Roger takes his bag and leaves, with Jess tearfully only able to say she's sorry as he walks out. SYNOPSIS (courtesy of Wiki): Los Angeles, California, and a pair of costumed twins called the Brother Grimm are terrorizing a stage production of Hansel and Gretel and rob the audience of their valuables. Later they terrorize the home of Congressman James T. Wyatt, where they try to blackmail the Congressman out of $50,000. When Wyatt complied, he was locked in a safe to die. Meanwhile, Jessica Drew and her friend Magnus arrive in Los Angeles, where Jessica begins looking for a job and lodgings as well as continuing her search for her father. The two of them end up taking rooms with Priscilla Dolly, an eccentric landlady who has two sons named Jacob and William. With Magnus's help, Jessica finds out that her father is dead, and visits his grave. She gets upset at Magnus, figuring that he manipulated her, like the High Evolutionary and Hydra before him.[Continuity 1] However, Magnus advises her that he only wishes to help her learn the truth behind her father's death. That night as Spider-Woman, Jessica breaks into police headquarters to learn more about her father's death. Finding the file, she suddenly becomes interested in the loud conversation happening in the next office. Listening in, she overhears James Wyatt giving a statement to the police. Dismissing this as none of her business, Jessica heads home with the file on her father. Reading it with Magnus, Jessica learns that her father worked for a company called Pyro-Technics and that he had ties with the Congressman. As she considers paying the congressman a visit her thoughts are interrupted when she overhears Jacob and William Dolly arguing each other. However, their spat is quickly dispelled by their mother, Priscilla, who wishes things could be like they were before their father die.[Continuity 2] Later Jessica goes out as Spider-Woman and confronts the Congressman at his office looking for answers. The Senator tries to shoot her, but she disarms him with a venom blast. As she tries to get answers out of him they are interrupted by Brother Grimm who bursts into the room. As it turns out, Wyatt gave Brother Grimm counterfeit money the night before and now he has come to demand more. When Spider-Woman tires to learn who Brother Grimm is, the villain attacks her. While they fight, Congressman Wyatt calls the authorities. Defeating Brother Grimm, Spider-Woman flees the scene when she hears police sirens approaching, leaving Brother Grim for the cops, telling Wyatt that she will be back. When the authorities arrive on the scene, the Congressman fears that Spider-Woman could ruin him if news got out that he was handing out counterfeit money and begins plotting to silence her. Outside, Spider-Woman watches as the officers take Brother Grimm into custody. Deciding that she hit a dead end here, she decides to investigate the only other lead she has, Pyro-Technics, Inc. When the police get Brother Grimm to the station for questioning, he refuses to talk. On her way back to her apartment, Spider-Woman is once more attacked by Brother Grimm. The fact that he is not in police custody and that he has an entirely different demeanor confuses her. She tries to subdue him, but Brother Grimm manages to escape and warns her to stay out of his business in the future. Returning to her apartment, she tells Magnus that she will investigate Pyro-Technics tomorrow. That's when they hear a radio report about Brother Grimm breaking out of jail. To her surprise, his escape happened an hour after her last encounter with him, leaving her to wonder what is going on. VENOM BLASTS (things to look out for in episode)!!

THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #9 Released 17th February 2021 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Production Designer: Anthony Gambino Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (by Wiki): After waking up from a nightmare, Jess is guided by a Miriam clone to Octavia and Ophelia, sparring in a dojo room talking about the latter's schoolwork, and Jess's arrival distracts the young girl for Octavia to wound before ending the training. Alone, Octavia recounts her origin as Otto Vermis' child undergoing experimentation, not dissimilar to Jess's childhood. Like Jess, Octavia chooses to have a child and lead a different life with a happier meaning. Finishing her story, Jess is finally brought before the High Evolutionary, who corrects her sardonic comment on the "hundreds of clones" of her mother with an accurate count of 75. He also affirms that Miriam was cloned when she was alive but indeed died by Hydra years earlier. Wyndham explains to Jess that he owed a debt to Miriam, who came to him since her colleague Miles Warren became unstable, and she needed decoy clones to stave off Hydra. He elaborates that the clones became unstable after she died, conflating loving Jess with hating Hydra, keeping the surplus for a personal workforce with mental inhibitors, and sending one to be the Miriam that would watch over Jess's sleep. Feeling obliged to cure Jess, Gerry, and Rebecca, Wyndham sent Octavia to help Jess acquire the resources to make a cure in an energy array. However, Jess doesn't trust the procedure, and Octavia uses a sequencer upon hearing Wyndham's code to free the Miriams, who goes into a rage trying to kill everyone present. While Octavia planned to sell the array to Michael Marchand for an untold fortune, much to Ophelia's disgust and anger as she fights to help Wyndham while Jess fights the frenzied clones aiming to kill her. As Octavia backstabs Wyndham, she manipulates Jess with promises of revenge by phrasing Wyndham's involvement as his fault. A mentally-addled Jess agrees with and motions to kill him as Ophelia fights her mother. Still, before she could commit, a group of Miriams attack her and unwittingly send her into the array with their assault. Now cured, Jess recalls her actions during her sickness and realizes the horrible things she's done to those close to her since she started looking for a cure. As Octavia insults Ophelia as a disappointment for expecting some change in her mother, Ophelia comments on her mother's self-hate with seeing her daughter as her own weakness. Feigning maternal concern, Octavia moves to snap Ophelia's neck, and upon turning to Jess asks if there was a problem, with the hero acting unfazed. Remember - To Know Her Is To Fear Her! Enjoy! Distraught at hearing her of her parents’ death, Wyndham assists Jessica by bringing psychic operative, Marvin Flumm, to probe Jess’ mind in the hope to discover what happened at Wundagore 11 years ago. Jess sees strange things during the session..her nanny Bova, with a bovine head; a scary wolf attack and her parents, dead on the floor. Most strange of all is a vision of a colossal man, garbed in crimson and silver. Jess commences her agent training with the notorious Taskmaster. She also gradually becomes acquainted with another Hydra agent, Jared and before long, they form an intimate relationship. As months go by, Jess improves as a Hydra agent and eventually her turn comes to operate in the field when Jared and his team are reported captured in Latervia by SHIELD. Despite her dominance over the likes of Puff Adder and Whiplash, Jess is unable to get a name out of them, so she resorts to disarming one fof the armoured guards and abducting him for further question. After a short visit in the guise of an armoured guard, Jess returns to her safehouse where she has the captured guard for interrogation. It’s finally revealed to her that Kingpin is behind it all, so Spider-Woman visits him at his mansion before the two engage in a vicious battle. Kingpin reveals that not only is it Jessica’s own fault for Lindsay’s current condition, but also that he has released a nemesis that Jess fears the most. Information on her family is given to the mysterious villain, whom Kingpin released from ravencroft in the hope of distracting Jessica and keeping her busy whilst he continues his mission to rid the city of super heroes. Slowly, Jess realises the gravity of the situation…and who indeed the villain could be. The enemy that will cause no end of grief for Jess slowly appears - Kingpin recalls that it was they who masqueraded as Jessica in order to capture Lindsay; and the captive guard at Jess’ safehouse slowly transforms to it’s true form… Jess panics and departs Kingpin’s mansion, fearful of her son Gerry and his safety. Veranke, now totally free, makes her way to Jessica’s home and disguises herself as Spider-Woman before the front door is answered by an unsuspecting Night Nurse and Gerry… Remember - To Know Her Is To Fear Her! THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #11 Released April 21st, 2021 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Production Designer: Anthony Gambino Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (Courtesy of Wiki): Returning to her "normal life" after her quest for a cure, and receiving a generous float by her brother after delivering the cure for Rebecca, Jessica settles payment with Big Ronnie for her new and classic suit repairs. Given that Ronnie made the new suit with features made by "Miriam" and Michael, Ronnie obliged a discounted repair of both suits with a beautiful dress, while failing to haggle a new costume for Roger. As Jess and Roger go out for a fancy dinner in the dress she bought, Jess is sidetracked by new supervillain duo Los Espadas Gemelas de Toledo (Ray & Luis) robbing a bank and chases them through New York. Attempting a stealth takedown over a dark alley, a modification to her suit by Ronnie almost costs her until another upgraded feature helps subdue and capture Luis, but Ray escapes with the stolen money. Seeing his brother taken by NYPD, Luis overlooks the street swearing revenge on Spider-Woman as he begins planning his brother's escape. After Roger walks back to his and Jess' apartment to take Gerry from Linda's babysitting, she asked if he proposed to which he answers no given the robbery and chase. Once Jess returns, she is busy looking into the Los Espadas and coming off the high of fighting criminals as herself once more. EPISODE 38: Seren and Rey are back to start a journey that will lead into SECRET INVASION! Excited at the upcoming TV series in May this year, our Spider-Babies track the return of Jess after an almost 20 year hiatus, to see how she factors into the Avengers ensemble...spoilers - it is a GUT PUNCH! - NEW AVENGERS VOL. 1 #1 ‘Breakout’ SCORES: Seren - 4/5, Rey - 3.5/5 broken generators Remember - To Know Her Is To Fear Her! Enjoy! SYNOPSIS (courtesy of Wiki): With the Avengers disbanded and both the Fantastic Four and the X-Men preoccupied, a mysterious figure hires Electro to perform a job. A big one. Matt Murdock, Luke Cage and Foggy Nelson meet with Jessica Drew on the Raft, the Maximum-Maximum Security Installation of Ryker's Island. The quartet is ushered through the Raft to see Murdock's client. The Raft holds the worst of the worst, eight levels of super-powered serial killing maniacs, including the Purple Man, who Luke Cage holds a personal grudge with. Getting inside an elevator, they travel eight levels underwater to the bottom level where all of the generators suddenly power down. Not restricted to the Raft, the entire city of New York is plunged into darkness. Civilians have a moment to ponder this power outage when a lightning bolt tears into the Raft. Peter Parker first sees the power outage as a blessing as it gets him out of watching a Hugh Grant movie with his wife. A blessing, until he notices the bolt of lightning coming down on the Raft. Spider-Man piggy-backs a ride to the island on the underside of a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicopter, one that gets hit by a stray lightning blast causing it Spider-Man to plummet to the river. Spider-Man swims through the freezing water and is greeted on the Raft by the helicopter's official passenger, Captain America. Meanwhile, inside the Raft, Electro materializes out of a ball of lightning, collects the person he was freeing, and to cover their escape, frees the remainder of the prisoners. As explosions rock the Raft, Murdock makes Jessica Drew take them to his client. Opening his cell, Murdock pleads to the disheveled hermit for help. When asked, Murdock reveals that the man is the Sentry, the most powerful super hero on the planet, serving a voluntary sentence for killing his wife. SYNOPSIS (courtesty of Wiki): Arriving in England to deliver the Deathlok cyborg to Dr. Kort, the Thing, and Alicia spend a bit of time sightseeing before going to their appointed destination. Arriving there, they find that the entire mansion has been overturned; unaware that Dr. Kort had been kidnapped by Hydra who intends to have the doctor revive their agent, Spider-Woman. When Alicia finds blood at the scene of the kidnapping, her screams bring Shang-Chi, who mistakes the Thing for an attacker. After a brief battle, they realize the reality of the situation and Shang-Chi agrees to help the Thing find Dr. Kort. Tracking him down to a hidden Hydra base, Thing and Shang-Chi fight off the Hydra hordes and save Dr. Kort. However, in spite of their victory, Hydra has obtained the serum they need to revive Spider-Woman. Ben and Alicia are still in London enjoying the sights when Ben hears an explosion. Investigating, he finds two crooks who are blasting open the secret locations of map plates which would lead to a long lost treasure. As the Thing tries to round them up, he is attacked by the newly revived Spider-Woman, who is once more loyal to Hydra. She has come to terminate Ben, however, at the last moment, she chokes and is later forced to flee. Returning to Hydra headquarters she angers her superiors but promises to kill Ben Grimm next time. Later, while sight-seeing, Ben and Alicia are once more attacked by Spider-Woman, who kidnaps Alicia and flies off. Ben chases after her but runs amok of the same crooks trying to uncover yet another piece of their treasure map. Ben fights through them and picks up his trail on Spider-Woman, which takes him to Big Ben, where the two battle it out. Although Ben has superior strength, he's no match for Spider-Woman's speed and venom blasts. However before a victor can be made, the two crooks -- also at Big Ben to find another part of the map, capitalize on the battle to try and eliminate Ben, and so they detonate a bomb which knocks both Thing and Spider-Woman into the Thames River. SYNOPSIS (courtesty of Wiki): With Nick Fury stationed at a S.H.I.E.L.D. base on the Riviera, Hydra (led by Otto Vermis) sends a squad to attack, with their newest super-agent, their "spider-woman" whom they have code-named Arachne. Sent to assassinate Fury, Arachne thinks back to the events that led her to become a member of Hydra: how she was a girl in a small European village and was considered a witch because of her fantastic powers. However, she was found and taken in by Otto Vermis and made a member of Hydra. There she and fellow Hydra agent Jared became lovers. However, Jared would soon be captured by S.H.I.E.L.D., and Vermis would send Arachne to assassinate Fury in revenge. When Arachne accidentally kills Jared trying to get at him, Fury realizes that Arachne is unaware that Hydra is a terrorist organization and shows her video footage of Jared threatening innocent lives. Convinced that Hydra has played her for a fool, the angry Arachne goes back to get revenge against Vermis and his Hydra unit. Confronted before he can escape, Vermis reveals the truth about her origins: that she is really one of the High Evolutionary's New Men, a highly evolved spider, who did not fit in with her fellow New Men and fled to a nearby town where she was recruited by Hydra. Vermis breaks free from Arachne and tries to make his escape in a Hydra shuttle. Arachne follows his ship, damaging it enough to make it crash and killing Vermis. As S.H.I.E.L.D. secures the Hydra base, Arachne flees and wanders off into the wildness to wonder what she will do with herself now. VENOM BLASTS (things to look out for in episode)!!

As they flee, Miriam's body degenerates to reveal herself as a clone, created after waiting for Jess to wake up for years by way of the High Evolutionary's aid. This Miriam lost her hope for Jess upon her daughter's waking up and serving Hydra, now blaming Jess for Rebecca's condition. As Miriam goes mad, Octavia attacks and cryptically notes her associates while trapping the Drew women outside the lab, claiming all the research as she "takes back what's hers." Outside the lab, Miriam continues to attack Jess and reveals the truth about the Spider formula: more doses breed strength, but also increases apathetic aggression. Michael distracts Miriam long enough to steal a vial of formula, and helps Jess by dosing her to boost her power. As Miriam and Jess battle in a berserker brawl, Octavia takes Rebecca as the last pure sample of the research she took. Miriam tells Jess to take Michael & Rebecca to evacuate, warning her about "the others" that will settle the unfinished business with her. Miriam tackles Octavia, which releases Rebecca, and takes the villain into a secure lab to detonate the facility once her family escapes the vicinity; seemingly killing Octavia and destroying the research. Escaping the rubble to the helipad, Jess realizes that when they first arrived, Michael alluded to Hydra taking Miriam's life, and knowing the Miriam on Wundagore was a clone in the first place. Michael confesses to knowing she was a clone, desperate to get help for Rebecca's condition. As they both agree on finding a cure for Rebecca, Jess instead plans on finding it her own way and warns Michael about hiding any more "family secrets." Jess bids farewell to Rebecca as she pilots a second helicopter, promising herself to find a cure for the sake of her own family and friends. In the second story, Jessica trains in a gym, destroying the equipment with her newfound serum strength. She is committed to finding answers and a cure before it kills her and Rebecca. Later, she packs a bag while talking to Roger over video chat about what happened at Wundagore, and says she’s going to keep using the new suit because of its healing properties. Jessica tells Roger and Gerry that she’ll come back when it’s over, and Roger asks her if she really has to do it alone. Jessica dons her street level Spider-Woman outfit and uncovers her motorcycle while thinking that maybe she doesn’t have to do this one alone. EPISODE 39: The Spider Babies get together to chat about all tangential matters before focusing in on the next part of the epic 'BREAKOUT' arc for the Avengers! SYNOPSIS (courtesy of Wiki): Another explosion rocks the Raft and Captain America and Spider-Man watch Electro and his client flee the scene. Seeing that there is no way to catch them, Spider-Man does the next best thing and jumps towards the hole to help people, despite the Captain’s warnings to let the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents take point. Spider-Man should have listened to Cap, for instead of people looking for help, he found himself face-to-face with scores of super-villains. Dogpiled by the baddies, his mask gets ripped off and his arm gets broken by Jigsaw. Meanwhile, on the bottom level of the Raft, Matt Murdock is trying to get the Sentry to assist them in escaping when they and the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are attacked by Carnage. Murdock tosses Foggy Nelson into the Sentry’s cell and closes the door, warning him not to open it, no matter what. Murdock, Luke Cage and Jessica Drew fight Carnage until another villain comes out to join the fight: Murdock’s old nemesis, Mr. Hyde. On the surface, Spider-Man is being pummeled by dozens of super-villains when Captain America breaks them up and leads a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents into the fray. Trapped inside a lightless cell, Foggy manages to convince the Sentry to help. Emerging from his cell, The Sentry grabs Carnage and flies at top speed straight through eight floors of the facility and out into the stratosphere, all the way to outer space. Once there, he proceeds to act as judge, jury and executioner to Cletus Kasady and tears Carnage in half. Cage takes care of Mr. Hyde and Drew tries to fly them out of the exit the Sentry made when Hydro-Man starts drowning them. They get to the surface to join Captain America and Spider-Man in the free-for-all. One of the villains (Ironclad) grabs Cap and throws him high into the sky where he’s caught by Iron Man. Cage is confronted by The Purple Man who tells him to kill the other heroes, then himself. VENOM BLASTS (things to look out for in episode)!!

Enjoy! SYNOPSIS (courtesty of Wiki): Spider-Woman is inside a grocery store after closing hours thinking of stealing food. She continues to contemplate what to do with her life and who she really is and decides not to steal. Sneaking out of the store, she is confronted by Jerry Hunt, who tries to stop her. However, Spider-Woman manages to escape, although Jerry manages to grab her mask and pull it off, and swears that he's seen her face before. Returning to the apartment that she lives in, all too aware of everyone's fear of her because they can sense she is more than human.[Continuity 1] Once Jessica Drew returns home she decides to retire for the evening. As Jessica sleeps, she dreams of the brief time she spent with Modred the Mystic and how he used his magic to reveal the truth about her past.[Continuity 2] He revealed she wasn't one of the New Men as she was told by Hydra's Otto Vermis.[Continuity 3] In reality, she was a human being. She was Jessica Drew, the daughter of Jonathan and Miriam Drew. They worked with Herbert Wyndham on Wundagore Mountain. Jessica fell victim to radiation poisoning, and her father treated her. Her mother, however, would eventually die. Failing to find a cure for Jessica's condition, Jonathan would leave Wundagore, leaving Wyndham to try and find a cure for the girl's radiation poisoning. Infusing her with the DNA of a spider, he put her in suspended animation for years, slowing her aging process until she developed an immunity. Years later, long after Wyndham became the High Evolutionary, Jessica was cured of the radiation poisoning and when she was awoken it was discovered that she had fantastic powers she would later use as Spider-Woman. Jessica wakes up screaming, but eventually calms down. She thinks about how after she later became a brainwashed servant of Hydra under the command of Otto Vermis and vows never to let that happen to herself again. The next day, Jessica tries to find a job, but during her search, she is spotted once more by Jerry Hunt, who once more tries to stop her. Running in an alley, Jessica changes into Spider-Woman and decides to fight back. Tossing a lamp post at Jerry, she realizes that he could be killed. Quickly she pushes Jerry to safety and flees the scene. Back home, she decides to do a better disguise job at disguising herself. To do so she alters her mask and dyes her hair black. Going out as Spider-Woman once more, she would later find Jerry and the authorities trying to stop some crooks who are armed with hi-tech lasers. She recognizes these men as Chauncy and Trevor. two men she encountered with the Thing and later Modred.[Continuity 5] Jerry is injured in the crossfire prompting Spider-Woman to swoop in and get him to safety. She then turns her attention to the two gunmen and discovers that she is immune to the unique radiation emitted from their weapons. She easily knocks out the two men with her venom blasts then goes to check on Jerry. As she is distracted, Chauncy recovers and manages to shoot her from behind. Quickly recovering from the blast, Spider-Woman whirls around and takes him down with another venom blast. Unsure of what her part in everything is, the police attempt to arrest Spider-Woman, despite Jerry Hunt's protests. Spider-Woman grabs Jerry and flies away to a hospital, where she administers a blood transfusion allowing him to recover from his injuries much faster than normal. Not only is he surprised to learn that Spider-Woman saved his life, he is also informed that the captured criminals had stolen metal plates that they thought they could use to create billions in counterfeit money. However, a recent change in currency in the United Kingdom made this plot utterly useless.[Continuity 6] When they try to explain how Jerry's superior, Nick Fury, responded to all of this they notice that Hunt's mind is miles away as he is still thinking about Spider-Woman. Jerry comes to the realization that the masked woman is unlike any female he has met before and that, no matter what, he wants Spider-Woman. VENOM BLASTS (things to look out for in episode)!!

Using a cloned body, Miriam faked her death and went into hiding to protect her not yet born second child, Michael. She entrusted Michael to a wealthy cousin, who raised him and nurtured his genius, leading to the fortune he has today. It wasn’t safe for her to return for Jessica, so she remained in hiding. When Rebecca’s cells started to atrophy, displaying a similar problem to Jessica when she was young, Miriam and Michael started trying to reproduce the serum that saved Jessica’s life in order to save Rebecca. With the spider stolen from Octavia Vermis and the lab at their disposal, they have everything they need to save both Jessica and Rebecca’s lives. When Jessica reminds them that her son is included in that reckoning, she learns that Gerry is likely going to be safe from this disease, as it seems to only affect women. Jessica also discovers that her mother is responsible for her new black suit, which has been secretly monitoring her vital signs. With all these revelations and lies, Jessica throws a bit of a tantrum and tears her suit, only to be interrupted by a fleet of helicopters carrying none other than Octavia Vermis and dozens of armed soldiers. Miriam and Jessica defend Wundagore against Octavia using the base’s missile defenses while Michael prepares for a ground battle. Jessica joins Michael and even Rebecca for this assault, riding animal hybrids into combat against Octavia’s forces. A battle ensues, during which Jessica discovers that the soldiers are all robots. When Octavia joins the combat, she also has Miriam’s missile defense tower shot down, forcing Jessica, Michael, and Rebecca to retreat inside. They discover Miriam is alive, but they have barely any time to regroup or celebrate as Octavia kicks down the reinforced doors protecting them. She demands the research Miriam has access to, claiming it has power over life and death, and hits Miriam when she refuses. When Jessica places herself between Octavia and her family to protect them against a new assault, Miriam shoves Jessica into the path of danger, yelling that she’s the one Octavia wants. Refocusing on the invasion, nobody can touch a Symbiote dragon except Jess and Iron Fist due to their energy abilities. Carol called on them for backup to focus on the creatures in their area, as Carol is needed to go around and fight the overwhelming force of symbiote monsters. Jess takes some of Linda's injections of Marchand serum for a boost despite other objections, and overwhelms the dragon as her venom blast is poisonous to the creature. Jess loses herself in a berserker rage attacking the dragon's corpse until Carol has to pull her away, escalating into a brawl. With Jess blaming Carol for losing her lead to Wyndham, ignoring Carol actual help and offering resources, Danny steps in to fight Jess until Carol takes the opportunity to stun her. Called back into action, Carol leaves Jess in Linda's Clinic basement kept in a Hulk Tank until the serum wears off. After Carol shatters the last vial of serum, Jess rages out of her shackles, but being unable to break the glass instead derides Carol's want of and inability to have children; hurting her friend deeply. Remembering Jess' words that it wasn't safe to be around her loved ones, Carol sees now that she was right, so she and the others take their leave with the intent to release Jess after her serum high quells and Knull is defeated. After going through the early stages of withdraw, Jess is surprised to see Octavia Vermis alive and offering to help due to their having "more in common" than originally believed. Aboard the Hellicarrier, Jess learns of her father’s ongoing involvement with Hydra, but also her mother Miriam’s tragic events and eventual off-the-grid location. Tracking her mother using her maiden name, Brumback, Jess is surprised to find her mother’s apartment occupied by Hydra agents, one of whom is Whiplash an assassin. Fleeing the scene after a confrontation with Jess, Whiplash leaves Spier-Woman to discover her mother, Miriam murdered. Amidst her corpse, Jess discovers some documents, one labelled the Athena device. SHIELD soon catch up with the events at Miriam’s apartment and again lose contact with Jess. They do, however, note the connection with the Athena device, and a name..Otto Vermis. Aware that Vermis would be Jess’ next target, Fury instructs SHIELD to find Vermis immediately. Out on the Mediterranean Sea, Vermis is aboard his boat, alongside a woman who is more than willing to entertain him. Vermis suddenly shocks her by accusing her of spying and brings out Whiplash to verify. The woman continues to plead ignorance until Whiplash winds up to strike her. It’s revealed it is Jess in disguise, and she leaps from the boat to the safety of the waters. Believing Jess dead, Vermis, Whiplash and crew soon discover that Jess has more than escape planned when she flees in a speedboat, blowing up Vermis boat, along with all on board. Later, on an oil rig, Jonathan Drew ponders the experiments and research he has undergone for Hydra when all of a sudden, there is Spider-Woman - Jessica Drew - ready to confront her father. SYNOPSIS (courtesty of Rey): Having infiltrated a SHIELD base, Jess fights hard to save Jared from Nick Fury. Venom Blasts make little work of the SHIELD agents , but it’s Fury who convinces her to come with him to learn the truth about HYDRA. Deep within their base, Jess is shown footage of Jared at a Morrocan Marketplace, killing innocents and children. All doubt is dispelled for Jess and Fury dives further, allowing Jess to understand how SHIELD know so much about her, and the true origins of her parents’ work. Fury also reveals to Jess what HYDRA were doing to her - studying, experimenting - once they learned of her unique physiology, and why they kept her in stasis in a tank. All too much to bear, Jess lashes out and escapes with Fury calling off the agents to follow her. Time passes and Jess is not seen nor heard from and it is only after two years, that Fury finally gains intel into the whereabouts of Jessica Drew. Discreet and within a London nightclub, Jared finally tracks Jess down - black hair and all - and wreaks his revenge on her. After being captured by SHIELD Jared had been subjected to relentless psychic interrogation, all of which drove him to seek revenge on Jess. His mission to befriend Jess, the interrogation…all of it had resulted in Jared forming a deep hatred towards Jess, but before he can enact his revenge, Jess flees only to run into a group of HYDRA agents led by Taskmaster. In an awesome display of power, Jess incapacitates the 30-odd men, using Taskmaster as the conduit for her venom blasts. She heads back to Jared who is on the verge of blacking out, and abducts him. As Jared awakens, he realises he’s strapped to a plane, hurtling towards General Wyndham. Jess leaves Jared to his fate and as the plane explodes into the building, Jess glides away in full costume. Much later, in San Francisco, Jessica is met by Nick Fury who has managed to finally track her down. He has a proposition for her but all Jess wants is to be left alone. As she pleads to Fury for a normal undisturbed life, and a chance to honour the memory of her parents…Fury remarks, “Who Told You Your Parents Were dead?” VENOM BLASTS (things to look out for in episode)!!

THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #20- ‘Absolutely Nothing Is Going to Happen' Released March 2nd, 2022 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Variants by Pere Perez & Frank D’Armata; Peach Momoko and David Talaski Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (Courtesy of Wiki): In the secret lair of Octavia Vermis, definitely not the back room of the Times Square Rainforest Cafe, she stands with Rose Roché and Aeturnum to welcome their guests to be apart of their new supervillain team-- The Anti-Arach9. Each with a vendetta against Spider-Woman, thus together they can achieve their desired claim to victory. After Octavia invites the attendees to the buffet she prepared, Stegron mentions to Aeturnum that Rebecca would likely disapprove of his being a villain. Aeturnum believes she'll come around citing Rose's "reasoning" of removing Spider-Woman will then convince Rebecca. After Octavia voices a snide remark about teenagers and reason, Stegron reveals to Aeturnum that he originally wanted vengeance on Octavia[1] but now joined out of attraction to her new dino-mutated form. As Octavia debates with Rose about their membership, she notes Damian, former king of isopod moon beetles before Spider-Woman and Captain Marvel destroyed them[2], and Rose questions if all he'll do is roll up to her. In Central Park, a partly impatient Jessica is being taught Yang style Tai Chi by "Sifu" Lindsay, meant to release her natural energies to help heal her faster. After Gerry dubs Lindsay "Auntie Seafood" much to her chagrin while Jess feels reenergized, Lindsay feels concerned about her since Fisk's big push, Damian finds Jess questioning her return to hero duty. After she hastily stops Gerry from eating a "gross" bug, Damian attack rolls at them. However, he did so into traffic and caused a light traffic jam getting hit by a car, not noteworthy to them as they go to lunch. Stegron updates Octavia, and she removes his name from consideration. The All-New Seekers set up asking for vengeance on Spider-Woman, but Rose notes her being hired and failing against Spider-Woman before,[3] asking back their deposit. Fireball retorts that she now has backing from Jenn & Tonic, the Mad Contortionist and Demented Surgeon Extraordinaire, as well as Irish Assassin Chad O'Nay. The former pair in search of a nemesis to cement their names. Rose and Aeturnum are flabbergasted by "Jen and Tonic" as some wet bar joke, but allow them to head out and battle Spider-Woman to prove their mettle. At lunch, Lindsay inquires what Jess may do if she won't returning to heroism, Jess thinks about reviving their old detective agency but recalls Lindsay's debt to O'Nay. While Lindsay justifies her actions, Jess apologizes again for leaving her alone at the film set, but Lindsay understands having hated Veranke's hurting Jess years prior.[4] As Lindsay mentions needing to resolve her issue with O'Nay, he arrives with Jenn & Tonic ready to fight, as Jess stands ready to hurt them. Later, Rose sees no damage on them, as Fireball explains Jess verbally abused them to the point of tears, returning with no results. Stegron comforts Jenn & Tonic, as O'Nay is too humiliated to return to Madripoor and plans to head back to art school. The Brothers Grimm chide fellow sibling villain troupe Los Espadas Gemelas De Toledo, free after escaping prison, for "stealing their act" despite such a matter being common now. Los Espadas swear to have their vengeance on Spider-Woman, but after two exhausting hours in battle return defeated and younger brother Luis having lost his left hand as well. As Aeturnum notes the team name is "Arach-NINE", Ray and Luis count themselves as "one soul" while the Brothers Grimm acknowledge themselves as two, making three slots by Octavia's count. But Stegron notes the unknown character in the "Krazy Goat" heliotrope purple jacket, identified as Perry P Perish. Explaining he wanted vengeance on Spider-Woman for destroying his monster truck, a final gift from his late wife, when pursuing Bruiser.[3] Uncaring to his backstory, Octavia asks he go at Spider-Woman, but he reveals he already did so as Jess returns home to find her prize motorcycle destroyed. As Krazy Goat eats his lunch, the other villains stare in amazement and grant him membership. Counting eight members technically, Octavia doesn't mind since the name is branding and Stegron notes another two for membership- Bruiser and Lady Bullseye. Considering the two's failed past encounter, Octavia passes on them but Aeturnum persuades Rose to allow it as Bruiser worked on his presentation, but Lady Bullseye downs him growing impatient and is granted membership. Explaining their arrivals to New York City, Octavia escaped with a pet when High Evolutionary was distracted, while Rose and Aeturnum simply drove from the Hamptons going stir crazy with boredom. Finally called to order, the Anti-Arach9 finally assemble to deliver vengeance upon Spider-Woman. At Jess's apartment, Carol plays with Gerry as Jess prepares a travel bag for Madripoor to settle Lindsay's debt with O'Nay. Jess nudges Rebecca to finally talk to her hero, as Carol voices concern about their trip to Madripoor. Teasing Rebecca for wanting Carol to sign her Build-A-Bear dressed like her, Jess expresses it's a normal part of having family. When Rebecca asks about the pizza order Jess made, Lindsay is stunned she let her considering Jess's topping choices, with a sickened Carol voicing she won't miss her. Arriving at the front door, Jess feels guilty not ordering a pepperoni for the others just as the Anti-Arach9 arrive behind the pizza guy. Remember - To Know Her Is To Fear Her! Enjoy! THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #3 Released 19th August 2020 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Editor(s) Jake Thomas, Lindsay Cohick SYNOPSIS (by Rey): With the final piece of the puzzle retrieved to synthesize the serum that gave Jessica her powers, Jessica, Michael and Rebecca are accosted at the Marchand research lab by yet another sinister contingent. One of Marchand’s employees, Stephen, is revealed to be the mole responsible for the threats to he and his daughter, but Jessica intervenes and aids the father and daughter in evading the mercenaries out to get them. Even on the Marchand private jet, they aren’t safe from their pursuers and it takes some deft aviating skills from Jessica to thwart the three fighter planes hot on their tail. They crash land on a mountain only to find themselves in the wilderness fighting strange dino-beasts. Michael displays some peculiar powers during the melee before the trio defeat the horde and discover they are at Wundagore! Things go for an even greater spin when Rebecca sees a figure approaching and calls out in recognition. The figure is Miriam Drew - mother to Jessica and grandmother to Rebecca….making Michael Marchand, Jessica’s brother!

Breaking character to strike her, Spider-Woman arrives to attack Veranke but the Thunderbolt Units truck escapes with Gerry. As Jess starts to run after the truck, telling Linda about helping Lindsay in hospital, Veranke attempts to keep her around. But while Veranke can still use Jess's powers when in her form, she's out of practice and form having been in a cell since Norman originally killed her.[2] With the truck stuck in gridlock, Jess instead finds the back is empty when Iron Man arrives to help. But Jess easily deduces it was Veranke playing mind games, as the real Tony would have made an insult upon arrival. She drops the act remembering how much her friends 'hate' her, even bringing up making out with Tony when impersonating Jess. When Veranke battles Jess in the back of the truck, her powers only mimic the armor as she's still flesh and Jess stuns her as the truck goes over the bridge. Moments earlier, Gerry wall-crawled and venom blasted the driver, crashing the truck over into a garbage scow. Getting out, Jess blasts Spider-Man believing him another Veranke play, but it was really him sent by Linda. Halfheartedly apologizing as she races to Gerry, she finds Carol holding him still thinking it is Veranke until another Carol shows up. Confused and willing to zap both, Gerry asks "bad Cawol?" and Jess asks he blast the bad one, with Gerry shooting the correct Veranke. Although willing to help, Jess demands Carol flee with Gerry while she fights to resolve Veranke alone. While Veranke taunts that she "honored" Jess by impersonating her, she rages at regretting ever having done so not knowing why she ever saw leadership material in Jess. Ambivalent to Veranke's madness and humiliation, Jess counters the Skrull as she changes faces in failed psych attacks playing as people Jess cares for. The unfazed Jess venom blasts Veranke point blank on her skull until she's unconscious. Worried for Lindsay, Carol updates Jess that Linda got her somewhere safe in time, and she hugs her baby in relief. However, with their situation hard pressed for time with Fisk's play,[3] Carol asks what to do about Veranke and Jess convinces her to stuff her somewhere secure on the garbage scow. At the hospital, Jess updates and apologizes to Lindsay, who reassures Jess she's fine. As Lindsay brings up having been in plenty of trouble before, Jess is wager to discuss the Irish Ninjas with her soon. Across the stress, a sniper named Mr. O'Nay calls Octavia Vermis having Jess in his crosshairs, willing to kill her immediately. However, Vermis refutes his request finding it unsporting to attack Jess now after such a challenging day. As Vermis wants Spider-Woman to feel safe again, before she faces her new foes: The Anti-Arachnine. Among whom include Aeturnum with Rose Roché, and the brothers Los Espadas Gemelas De Toledo. SYNOPSIS (courtesty of Wiki): Knocked into the Thames River by a bomb blast, the Thing saves Spider-Woman and brings her to shore. Indebted to him, she tells him of her forced servitude in Hydra and agrees to help him rescue Alicia. While the two criminals continue to search for their lost treasure -- which turns out to be stolen from British Treasury during World War II -- They have almost completed collecting the plates needed to assemble a map pointing out the location of the treasure. Meanwhile, Hyrda exposes Alicia to the serum they synthesized based on Spider-Woman and mutates her into a woman-spider creature, restoring her sight technologically. Ordering her to destroy the Thing and Spider-Woman, Alicia attacks them and their battle takes them across the city of London, finally ending in a department store where the Alicia-creature catches Ben in a spider-web. As Ben and Spider-Woman continue to battle the spider-mutated Alicia Masters, the two criminals searching for the long lost stolen treasure of World War II. They find the treasure they sought, however, when they open the treasure chest, they find themselves sucked into it by mystical forces. As the battle between Ben, Spider-Woman, and Alicia rages on, Ben smashes the control module on her forehead. Losing their ability to control Alicia thanks to the destruction of this device, the Hydra agent in charge of this mission is ordered killed by the Supreme Hydra for his failure. Alicia has the two heroes on the ropes until the Invisible Girl arrives. Using her invisible force fields, Sue manages to cut off Alicia's oxygen supply until she passes out. While Dr. Kort tries to restore Alicia back to normal, Thing wanders around London brooding. To make Ben feel worse, the people of London who originally treated him with celebrity when he first arrived are now treating him as a monster following the battle. Sue tracks down Ben and tells her that Alicia is calling out to him, and so they return to Kort's lab just as Alicia is being transformed back to normal.normal. Taking a trip to Stonehenge, Alicia and the Thing are secretly followed by Spider-Woman. Meanwhile, the chest uncovered by thieves looking for lost World War II treasure unleash a mystical force. Arriving at Stonehenge, Thing and Alicia are confronted by four elemental demons: Fire, Aero, Hydro, and Mud. Their appearance forces Spider-Woman to reveal herself and defend Ben and Alicia. The trio is all transported below Stonehenge where they find that all the tourists have been transported to and are being kept as prisoners. The elementals explain that they were summoned to capture Mordred the mystic for Merlin, who has recently been revived in modern times. They have vowed to capture Mordred even if it means the destruction of the Earth. As the elementals are explaining their mission, Ben and Spider-Woman attack them but prove unable to make any lasting damage against them. When all seems lost, Mordred arrives to answer the elementals challenge. While Mordred and Spider-Woman battle the elementals, Ben goes looking for Alicia. Mordred transports himself, the elementals, and Spider-Woman back to the surface where Mordred uses his magic to convince the elementals to fight each other. Each opposing element pitted against each other and being destroyed. After the battle, Mordred transports everyone back to the surface and erases the tourist's memories of the experience. Afterward, Ben and Alicia depart leaving Mordred to take Spider-Woman under his arm and take her on as an apprentice. VENOM BLASTS (things to look out for in episode)!!

After the events of the Muramasa Blade possessing both Jess and Patch, the trio find themselves protecting Tyger from the ruthless actions of General Coy and his appointed assassins…. Bloodsport, the mutant vampire, and Roughouse a towering bruiser. With a little help from General Coy’s daughter (the Ex- New Mutant Karma), and a host of locals like O’Donnell and pilot Archie Corrigan, the vicious crime lord and his drug empire are slowly destroyed. Joe Fixit, aka the Gray Hulk also finds himself in Madripoor, indirectly engaged under the General, but soon cuts ties with him after finding out what truly goes on in Madripoor. With a little help from Patch, Mr. Fixit assists in the demolition of one of the drug factories, essentially crippling the General’s hold over crime in Madripoor. Remember - To Know Her Is To Fear Her! Enjoy! SYNOPSIS (courtesty of Wiki): Iron Man's analysis reveals that the creatures burst from the bodies of the researchers after using them as incubators, and that the parasitic bacteria they grew from was in the water supply. The information comes too late to stop Banner from drinking some of the water and contracting the bacteria himself. Realizing that his body will become an uncontrollable Hulk to fight the infection, they move him to a safe room aboard the helicarrier and prepare for the dangerous proposition of trying to inject the Hulk with antibiotics. Meanwhile, Captains Marvel and America trace Sergei Sorokin to an unauthorized plane takeoff over Australia and intercept in a Quinjet. The aircraft is commanded by Yun Guang Han, a ruthless terrorist who abducted Sorokin before poisoning the other researchers' water supply to use them as guinea pigs for the bacteria's effects. Han drops several mindless, ghoul-like henchmen directly onto the Quinjet to attack it, forcing Carol to land while Steve boards Han's plane. Captain America comes face-to-face with Han, who threatens to immediately release the infection on the countryside below if he doesn't back down. With no other choice for the time being, the Avengers let the bad guys escape. VENOM BLASTS (things to look out for in episode)!!

THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #14 Released August 18th, 2021 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Cover: Junggeon Yoon, Netease Marvel Games Variant Production Designer: Anthony Gambino Editors: Lindsay Cohick, Nick Lowe SYNOPSIS (Courtesy of Rey): With Lindsay visiting from LA for a long needed catch-up and to look after Gerry, Jessica prepares to meet Michael, her brother, for an explanation as to why her apartment was set upon by mercenaries. It appears Michael was behind it all, however he implores Jessica to give him a chance to explain. Arriving at Marchand pharmaceuticals, Jessica is greeted by Michael (complete with softball uniform) but it isn’t long before they are interrupted by Rose Roche, Michae’s assistant. Rose takes responsibility for having Jessica’s house burgled and it’s revealed that the copy of the Wyndham file given to Michael for his daughter Rebecca, came with a single-use only. Michael and Rose needed Jessica’s files to continue their work, much to Jessica’s disgust. What was meant to be a cure for Rebecca, seems to have turned out as an opportunity to mass produce and market Wyndham’s genius. Rose attacks Jessica revealing that Michael had used the Wyndham array on her, giving her powers, and they give Jessica an ultimatum - give them the Wyndham files...or else. Jessica replies that she needs time to think about it and back at her apartment, both she and Lindsay decide to raid Marchand Pharmaceuticals to steal back what they can from Michael and Rose, in an effort to halt Michael’s plans to reverse engineer the Wyndham technology. With Gerry safely straddled in a carrier, both Jessica and Lindsay storm the entrance, before Jessica is left to carry out the rest of their mission by herself. Rose suddenly appears and the two fight it out, resulting in them crashing through a wall and revealing Michael on an operating table, dosed with a hybrid formula of both the Marchand serum and Wyndham’s array. Michael’s new transformation sees him as a monstrous version of himself, augmented with Spider powers and hell bent on destroying Jessica. Trading blows, Michael finally manages to web Jessica against a wall and deal out a deathblow when suddenly Rebecca appears, screaming for him to stop. Michael pauses, reassuring Rebecca that he’ll always be her Dad...but to everyone else, he is now called Aeternum! Remember - To Know Her Is To Fear Her! Enjoy! THIS EPISODE'S DISCUSSION - Spider-Woman Vol. 7 #8 Released 6th January 2021 Written by Karla Pacheco Drawn by Pere Perez Colours by Frank D’Armata Letters by VC’s Travis Lanham Editor(s) Jake Thomas, Lindsay Cohick SYNOPSIS (by Wiki): Jess bursts out of the Hulk Tank to take from Octavia Vermis a sample of the Marchand serum, as Octavia states that Jess' mind has been faltering since she began using the serum. Using Jess's need for a cure, and capitalizing on her declining mental state, Octavia proposes a co-op to find her cure, and convinces Jess by promising Hydra agents to beat up. At a previously unknown Hydra warehouse, Jess and Octavia battle Hydra goons inside who hate Octavia (ignorant of Jess) for betraying Hydra, but ultimately get a supply of the Latrodectus Aeternum Spiders. Next they reach the American Museum of Natural History already Venomized to brutally rob a disillusioned Stegron, and take a biological agent he had been developing. Octavia drops Jess off at the final stop, a Stark Safe House for the Avengers to use, where after getting inside she has to contend with Rhodey who realizes that Carol's warning about Jess was correct. Upon finding Jess stealing data from a server, Rhodey is furious at Jess for doing what she's doing while the Avengers are out trying to save the world, but Jess still belligerently fights her way to escape in desperation. She tells Rhodey to relay to Carol not come after her before meeting Octavia outside, warning her not to cross her; but Octavia also wants to avoid what can happen to her if she should fail, but is not fearful of Jess. Arriving at a secret volcano lair, they are greeted surprisingly by Octavia's daughter, Ophellia, but also Jess finally meets Herbert Wyndham, the High Evolutionary, surrounded by an army of Miriam Drew clones.
