02 Jan 2020 | Natalia Taylor Finally Reveals ALL Her YouTube Growth Secrets! (Nothing Held Back!) | 00:39:39
Part 2 of our amazing conversation with Natalia Taylor is here! In part one we dove deep into her origin story, and how her YouTube success forced her to change for the better. Now we’re diving into what videos solidified her comeback and we’re getting a front-row view into her genius for picking video ideas, how she creates content and the secrets for growth and making herself a hit machine! If you loved the last episode, this one will blow you away. We’re getting technical! “If you make content that people are interested in, they will watch it and you’ll have job security.” It may look simple and obvious now that she’s made a comeback and doubled her subscribers, but when she came back, she had a dead channel. Her old videos were getting a trickle of views, and the new her wasn’t jiving for some. Sometimes it was discouraging to see the subscriber numbers plummet when she posted new content. But she kept with it. She kept her positive attitude and eventually got to a turning point. She made a video on exposing America’s Next Top Model and that started her rise again. She maintained that momentum and struck gold again by hitting her most-watched video which was also a sponsored video about Zodiac Signs. It got over 5 million views! She wasn’t only back, but now, she’s sitting pretty at almost 1.8 million subscribers. “Being original, new and innovative is always my #1 priority” In this episode, we pick up from where we left off and talk about what videos sparked her comeback, her insanely genius process for coming up with video ideas, the surprising way she shoots and edits her videos and so much more. We also get a moment where she’s completely open and raw about her experience being a successful YouTube influencer, that you’re going to want to hear if you’re interested in going down the same path. Enjoy! “I don’t consume that much content. I just produce it. That’s the beauty of being an artist.” Join the Zero to Influence Bootcamp waitlist Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

“If you show up for YouTube, YouTube will show up for you.” - Shan Boodram If you're considering getting in on the YouTube action, you're probably wondering how to start a good YouTube channel, right? Building your YouTube channel to a highly successful level takes a considerable amount of time and effort so you want to make sure you get started off on the right foot. Luckily, my guest today can help provide some great tips for how to start a good YouTube channel! Shan Boodram started off her adult life by going the traditional route and earning a degree in Journalism. She then wrote the book, Laid: Young Peoples Experiences with Sex in An Easy-Access Culture. However, when she found herself in a "massively toxic" relationship, she decided to leave Toronto and pursue a career in Los Angeles. Shan had used YouTube to promote her book and had built her channel to around 20,000 subscribers so, after her fourth failed pilot (for MTV, no less), she decided to become a Certified Sexologist and take her YouTube channel more seriously. Within six months, she grew her subscriber count to over 100,000! Don't worry, she shares exactly how she did it in today's episode. Shan also shares exactly how to start a good YouTube channel, what elements of the process are the most important, the equipment she absolutely loves, her issues finding the right agent, and the incredible opportunities that have resulted in having a dominant presence in a relatively small YouTube niche ... including her own multi-season web series with Full Screen!

31 Oct 2019 | The Key to Establishing Your Brand with Stephanie Ledda aka SMLX0 | 01:01:30
What do you represent? One of the most difficult aspects of establishing yourself as an influencer is finding that thing that makes you unique and leveraging your ‘superpower’ to stand out in a crowded field of YouTubers. The platform has evolved into a lucrative business, and that means your channel is its own brand. And when your personality matches up with a beauty brand, collaborations follow. Today’s guest is a YouTube veteran with a unique brand identity who is ready to share how her individuality as an influencer has led to some awesome opportunities. Stephanie Ledda is a 26-year-old New York native with a passion for beauty and a unique eye for fashion. Her channel, SMLx0, has over 900,000 subscribers who look to Stephanie for inspiring hair, makeup and styling tutorials. She was a college student when she started her channel in 2009. A business management and marketing major, Stephanie enjoyed watching YouTube videos and decided to try it out herself. Using the webcam on her MacBook to make videos in her dorm room, she created celebrity-inspired looks and gained a modest following. Stephanie considered YouTube a fun hobby, but she didn’t realize its potential to become a career until StyleHaul and the YouTube Partner Program reached out to her in 2011. After graduating from college, she tried to balance a traditional job in marketing at a bridal boutique with her channel, but quickly recognized that she couldn’t do both – and she really missed YouTube! Certain she could support herself through the channel, Stephanie quit her marketing job to pursue YouTube full-time. She definitely made the right decision, considering that she’s partnered with major brands like Schwarzkopf, Maybelline, Sephora, Ulta Beauty, and Tarte. Today she chats about sharing your personal life with your followers, the value of a degree, and how she chooses brands for sponsored videos. What are you passionate about? Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to earn a living out of what you love to do? Has the idea ever crossed your mind? What is the secret to turning your passion into a profitable online brand? "Even the stuff that didn't turn out great, it's always a learning experience." Amber of SweetAmbsCookies started sharing her passion for cookie decorating on YouTube after realizing people were actually more interested in learning how she made her cookies than buying them. Her eye-catching cookie decorating videos became so popular she decided to stop selling cookies on ETSY and instead focus on teaching others how to decorate their own cookies through YouTube videos and in-person classes. "I really think passion will show through and people will enjoy watching what you're doing." Amber didn't originally set out to become a cookie decorating instructor, but she has always enjoyed baking and she's also an artist. By combining her two passions, she was able to create a profitable online brand that has allowed her the flexibility of working for herself as well as be able to help support her family by doing what she loves. Amber is a mother and she is able to work full-time producing cookie decorating tutorials. "It's nice not to have to rely on one single thing especially as it gets more difficult to reach people." 18 Oct 2018 | How to Build a Strong Personal Brand on YouTube with Sierra Schultzzie | 00:49:33
Do you want a fulfilling career where you get to be 100% creative and make a great living doing only what you're great at for the people you love being around? Who doesn’t! Here’s a great case study on how to get there. In this episode, Fashion and Body Positivity YouTuber Sierra Schultzzie shares her passion and energy with us, along with the details on how she carved out her own niche and gained 380k subscribers along the way! “I make sure that as much as I put into the content, I also spend enough time focusing on getting eyes on it because it deserves a chance to have people see it.” Sierra is now a successful, full-time YouTuber. But it didn’t happen overnight. She started in 2015 while in her freshman year at college doing musical theatre. Her then boyfriend, now husband inspired her to try YouTube as a creative outlet and to try to become the next Jenna Marbles. She hesitated, but after she made her first video, she caught the bug, and she’s been posting a new video every Friday since. “Don’t pigeonhole yourself - give yourself room to try out new formats, and new series and new ideas and see what your audience likes.” She took a while to find out what she was uniquely good at and qualified to lend her perspective to. According to her, she wasn't great at makeup, so that was a bust. There was something about fashion drew her in, but the content there only represented two extremes of the spectrum: the thin ladies or the plus-sized. So she decided to be the voice and face of the middle, the curvy population. Now she’s posting twice a week and has almost 400k subscribers! She’s a queen on a mission to inspire all ladies to be confident in themselves and embrace their curves. “It’s nice that what took off on my channel is something that I truly am passionate about and something I’m fulfilled by.” Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

28 Mar 2019 | Can You Train Your Brain for YouTube Success? with Dr. Shannon Irvine | 01:02:02
Are you struggling with believing in yourself? Are you having trouble growing your channel as fast as you want? Those two may be very tightly connected to each other. But not to worry, Neuropsychologist and Coach Dr. Shannon Irvine is here to help you break those mental chains! We get really in-depth into ways you can unlock your potential and free your mind to create and attract the growth and success you’be been hoping for! “You’ve gotta burn the bridges of non-belief or hope.” Dr. Shannon Irvine has been helping entrepreneurs to tap into the power of their minds in her practice. I love how she takes “woo woo” topics and explains them with science and facts. Like the fact that we see and pay attention to 9 times more negative things than positive things, which explains a lot about why we go into a shame spiral over a single negative comment. Through her work, she helps to hardwire in your mind the exact things you want so that they’ll come to you easily and a lot more fun. “The most successful people have figured out their own thinking and have taken their thoughts off auto-pilot.” Her approach and belief towards how we work are really fascinating. Instead of identifying yourself as a YouTuber who’s striving to success, how much differently would you operate if you were coming from a place of generosity and abundance instead? Wouldn’t you be a lot more energized and excited to create if you knew that your success is on its way to you effortlessly? We’ll break down how to program that mindset today so you’re off to the races. Everyone has something to work on, even her, and there’s not one person on this earth without a limiting belief, so stop feeling alienated and alone and come join the limit busting party! “90% of our daily actions and decisions come from our subconscious mind.” Join the Zero to Influence Bootcamp waitlist Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

25 Jul 2019 | The Step by Step Strategy to Growing REALLY Fast on YouTube in 2019 with Evan Carmichael | 00:30:01
If you’ve been on the sidelines, hesitating about starting your channel or taking your channel seriously, this is the episode you have been waiting for! Even if you’ve been growing your channel for years, you’re gonna want to listen to this episode with a notebook beside you because everyone is going to learn a TON to help them explode their channels. I don’t think you’re ready. Entrepreneur, Author, Speaker and YouTuber Evan Carmichael is here and we get really deep and focused only on super fast and massive growth with tactics that are 2019 ready. Let’s go! “80% of YouTube success is making daily content that is fire.” Evan is a YouTuber who talks all things entrepreneurship and business on his channel. He has over 6,000 videos - yes, my word, six thousand - and has over 2 million subscribers. What I liked most about Evan was his openness to share as much as he knew and hold nothing back. You know there are some weirdos who put themselves on a pedestal and hoard all their secrets. Evan is the opposite, as you’ll hear in this episode. He has published 4 books, and he is a globally in-demand speaker, an entrepreneur, former Venture Capitalist and a lot more. “If you keep leaning into the things that are fun for you, you will find your inner genius.” We were on a tight timeline so we dove right in. We didn’t spend any time on his story, just went deep into the tactics and strategies around rapid channel growth. This episode is short but packed with value. Trust me, you will be taking notes on every sentence. Enjoy! “By continued experimentation, you’ll find your style.” Join the Zero to Influence Bootcamp waitlist Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

04 Mar 2021 | How to Think Your Way to YouTube Success | 00:13:30
What’s the one thing you can think that will dramatically increase the chances of your YouTube channel blowing up? In today’s episode, I’m going to share a tip that I use in my bootcamp and with my private 1:1 coaching clients. Think as if you already have 100,000 or even a million subscribers. Why is this so effective? How can you expect your channel to be the kind of channel that attracts hundreds of thousands of subscribers if you’re not already treating it like it can? You need to commit 100% to your channel and to creating content if you want to compete on YouTube with people who have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. If you put your best out there, you’ll be successful. If you put the content out there that your subscribers deserve, they will keep coming back. If you take your channel seriously, your subscribers will too! ---------- Love the podcast? Got some feedback you want to share? Want to request your favorite YouTuber? She knew early on that working in the beauty industry was something that she wanted to do in the future. Now, the beauty boss sets out to demonstrate how her success stemmed from sheer hard work, tireless efforts and a lot of patience. “In this business, you have good days and you have bad days.” Maria Hatzistefanis worked hard, surrounded herself with the best, created buzz, and built her own personal brand, and is now a favorite with high-profile models and media personalities including Poppy Delevingne, Daisy Lowe, Erin O'Connor, Jade Jagger, and Kylie Jenner. 17 Oct 2019 | Taking the Leap to Do YouTube Full Time and How It Changed Her Life with AmandaRachLee | 01:05:57
If you could work on YouTube full time, would you take that leap of faith? Our guest, Amanda Lee, went with her gut and decided to do just that! "It's kind of nice when what other people enjoy, and what you enjoy, lines up." 19-year old Amanda first started her YouTube channel when she was only 15 years old. She attended an art program in high school and, although art is definitely her number one passion, YouTube became a place for her to get away from art when it felt too suffocating. She started doing DIY and fashion and beauty videos and had about 60k subscribers when she graduated high school in August 2016. As an artist, Amanda felt like she could do a lot more on her channel. So, she decided to take a year off from school and do YouTube full time. She then made the conscious decision to rebrand her channel and strategize her content. By January 2017, she hit 100k subscribers. And when she transitioned into art and started her bullet journals, they became so popular that she has now gained more than 400k subscribers and 17 million views. "Find your groove, and once you do, it's enjoyable on both ends of the spectrum." Amanda first started her channel to get away from art but now it's what her channel is known for. She has definitely come full circle and you can too! If you have something you love and that you're truly passionate about, you might want to take that leap of faith and do YouTube full time! 13 May 2021 | Being Consistent on YouTube is a TRAP. Are you in the Consistency Trap? | 00:11:44
How many times have you heard, “being consistent is the key to success on youtube”? Probably more than you can count. But if you rely on consistency and only consistency, you’re going to be disappointed. Using consistency AS a strategy rather than PART OF a strategy is a one-way ticket to a very long road to nowhere. Relying on consistency does not guarantee success on YouTube.
In this episode, I’m going to talk about why being consistent CAN help you on YouTube, and how you can be consistent without falling into the consistency trap. What can you do in addition to being consistent to be successful on YouTube?

02 May 2019 | How Blogger The Rachel Review Transformed Her YouTube Channel and Grew 40k Subscribers | 00:51:08
Looking for some clarity around how to build a successful channel while balancing a full-time job? Want to go from a channel that’s confusing and flat to one that's vibrant and engaging? It’s time for another bootcamper success story! With a few viral hits under her belt and some massive growth, our guest fashion YouTuber Rachel from The Rachel Review is here to share her journey before and after the boot camp, and what she’s doing to be on track for 100k subscribers this year! “If you’re doing YouTube to be famous online and make a lot of money, that will get you through the door, but it won’t keep you there.” Rachel is passionate about being an entrepreneur and running her own business, but her early journeys into it ended in failure. After she closed up shop on her online business, she started working for a wastewater management company so she could gain a mentor and hopefully learn enough to take another shot at entrepreneurship. During that time, her boyfriend pushed her to start her YouTube channel and share her passion for fashion. And she did, but it barely got off the ground with only 250 subscribers. She was growing slowly and getting discouraged until she found out about our Zero to Influence bootcamp. Now she’s at 38k subscribers and confidently on her way to close out the year at 100k. “No one is going to like everything you have to say. People all have different experiences.” Learning how to find her why and getting clear on what she’s good at were two of the most impactful things the boot camp helped her with. They opened her eyes to what she should really be doing on YouTube. If you’ve been thinking about getting started and telling yourself that success is unattainable and you can’t be the next YouTube star, she’s here to tell you that she was right where you are, and she did it. And if she can do it, you can too. Her message for you is, “You have to risk it to get the biscuit!” “Every video you put out and comment you get, you’re getting an understanding of what your community wants and needs from you.” - Erika Are you ready to explode your YouTube channel and step into YOUR role as a YouTube influencer? 21 Feb 2019 | The Skinny Confidential's Lauryn Evarts Bosstick and the Future of Social | 00:49:13
If you’ve ever struggled with self-confidence and doubt, then you NEED to listen to this episode! Today’s guest is fellow podcaster and entrepreneur, beauty and lifestyle YouTuber and Blogger and Author. The Skinny Confidential’s Lauryn Evarts Bosstick has built her empire by following her heart and her passions and she shares a ton of tips to help you do the same! “Don’t even think about connecting with brands because it becomes a distraction to servicing your audience.” The Skinny Confidential was started by Lauryn when she was a freshman in college in 2010. At the time, she looked at the internet and saw whitespace where a haven and resource tailored to women could exist, and she jumped in and made it herself. She didn’t make a dime for the first 3 years, but fast forward to now: she has a hugely successful blog, a podcast with her husband, affiliate and brand deals and multiple businesses to help women. “With action comes clarity. You never truly know until you do something.” Lauryn is working to create something much bigger than herself and she wants the brands she’s created like The Skinny Confidential to represent that. She’s brought her husband, her sister and several employees and freelancers slowly into the business to help it grow even further. You’re going to learn a lot about her mindset towards overwhelm and the unique way she views her audience that makes her so successful. “Instead of looking at how I can get more followers, I always concentrate on the followers I have.” Join the Zero to Influence Bootcamp waitlist Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views
30 Sep 2021 | Should You Start a YouTube Channel or Podcast? Which is Better for Growth? | 00:19:23
I started podcasting when most people didn’t know what a podcast was. I’ve recorded well over 300 episodes and I’m grateful to have been listed as a top marketing podcast for many years. I’ve been a guest on several popular podcasts as well, so it’s safe to say that I know a thing or two about podcasting. But I also know a thing or two about YouTube! I’ve been running my YouTube Bootcamp, coaching YouTube creators, and managing several channels for years, and this has given me an interesting perspective on both podcasting and YouTube. So which should you do? Should you start a podcast or start a YouTube channel… or both? In this episode, we’re going to examine the pros and cons of podcasting and youtube channels, so if you’re on the fence about which direction you want to go in, this might help you narrow down your choice! ---------- Love the podcast? 19 Sep 2019 | The Power of an Influencer Community with Annie Spano | 00:30:06
How important is it for an influencer to have a support system? Wouldn’t it be great if you were a part of an influencer community that empowers you as you pursue your passion and turn it into a business? Let’s find out in today’s episode as we explore the power of an influencer community with Style Collective’s Annie Spano. “We’re just trying to make a difference in the world through our craft and our passion.” Style Collective is an influencer community for women to connect, grow, and learn how to be successful bloggers and entrepreneurs. Prior to starting Style Collective, Annie had been in a toxic work situation in her corporate job after she had graduated from her MBA and realized she needed to get out. She felt the need to be around other people that were positive and inspiring. She also needed to be where she could be a leader and empower women. She started her blog in October 2015 and did some consulting through it for a local boutique. She began to know other fashion bloggers that were starting at the same time and she connected with these women on a deeper level. She became best friends with some of them and she started a Facebook group for all of them to connect with each other, to share tips and ideas with each other, and encourage each other. Through that, Annie saw the power of an influencer community. Now, Annie connects women from all over the world through community and empowers them to do what they love through leadership and influencer education. Annie is the host of the Becoming Fearless Podcast, blogs at anniespano.com, and is a public speaker. “My tribe is influencers because they’re the same as me.” Join the Zero to Influence Bootcamp waitlist Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

26 Mar 2020 | How YouTuber Erin Busbee Established Herself As The #1 Fashion Channel For Women Over 40 | 01:13:07
Who’s ready for a super value-packed, deep and exciting episode about YouTube growth, from someone who’s seen it all for the past 6 years? I don’t think you’re ready! Fashion YouTuber, Erin Busbee aka Busbee Style is here and she was so generous with her time and with all her YouTube secrets. If you want to learn how to go from a trickle of views, to constantly over a million views a month and swimming in affiliate income, you’re in for a treat! “If you can take more of a strategic approach, you can grow faster.” Erin was working in TV news as a journalist, but after getting married and moving to Texas, that was a life she didn’t want to go back to. Instead of getting another job, her husband encouraged her to take that time to pursue her passion. She wasn’t sure what that was, but she knew what was on her heart was “helping women feel pretty”. That led her to start a business consulting women on their wardrobe - organizing their closets and being their personal shopper. The more it grew, the more restless she felt. She wanted to help even more women, and scale the business more and more. But scaling it by training others to do her job wasn’t giving her the satisfaction she desired. So, blogging and YouTube was born. That was in 2014, now almost 6 years later, she has almost 300k subscribers and gets over 1 million views a month helping women in their late 30s to 60s look and feel pretty! “Keep pushing your creativity and adding freshness and excitement for your regular viewers.” Even though her channel is at almost 300k subscribers now, a year later after her channel started, in 2015, she was at 10k subscribers and barely growing. At a rewardStyle event, she met someone who grew her channel really fast, and that gave her the inspiration that it was possible for her too. So she dove into research and brought a new level of focus and energy to her channel and it started to pay off. She doubled her subscribers in 2018 to 86k, and now, not even 2 years later, she’s shattered that record. In this episode, we’re diving deep into her process. She breaks down exactly how she coordinates her team, exactly how she uses analytics - and how you can too - to optimize her videos for people to watch from start to end, she breaks down how she creates her viral hits so predictably for a niche that isn’t very large, she breaks down how she runs her blog, YouTube, her IG, and social media seamlessly - and has all of them thriving, and so much more. Enjoy! “Give your viewers what they want and need and you’ll perform better.” Join the Zero to Influence Bootcamp waitlist Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

27 Feb 2020 | Why Sarah Therese Left The YouTube Beauty Community (and Grew To Nearly 1 Million Subscribers After) | 01:09:18
Authenticity is everything today. When we follow the path that lights us up, we'll find success, no matter what. Our guest this week took that inspiration to a whole other level. She trashed over 200 videos and totally changed her niche, but instead of fading away to obscurity, she soared to almost 1 million subscribers! Lifestyle YouTuber Sarah Therese shares her story, process, and philosophy, plus all her video secrets! “I’d rather make videos I’m hugely passionate about for 10k people than ones I'm not for 200k people.” Sarah is a mom of three who has been on YouTube since she was a teenager. She used it as a way to find her own creative outlet away from her 2 siblings. In 2017 a conversation with a friend showed her that she could stay home with her kids and be creative and earn a decent income. So she dove into YouTube more seriously. She started in the beauty niche and racked up over 200k subscribers, and went full-time on YouTube. But over time life got more hectic and she grew away from beauty. So she changed the entire focus of her channel to health and beauty, and her subscribers came along for the ride! Since then she’s grown to almost 1 million subscribers and has several million views on her videos, all while running her one-woman show and homeschooling three kids! “People actually come back to my channel for me and just the things I have to say.” Sarah has a refreshing approach to YouTube that I think has made her impervious to the algorithms. When she switched niches entirely AND deleted hundreds of high performing videos, she gained subscribers, raving fans, brand deals, and revenue. It’s all because she’s passionate about her craft. She only focuses on improving for the next video, and she doesn’t stop to look at what others are doing. She doesn’t lead her life by what keywords are on-trend, she makes what she’s driven to make, no matter the performance. That’s worked out for her so far. You’re going to learn more about her philosophy, how she picks content ideas, her journey through changing niches and so much more. Enjoy! “There are too many people who sit on their past videos. Come up with new content more often.” Join the Zero to Influence Bootcamp waitlist Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

21 Nov 2019 | YouTuber Brand Collaboration Secrets of Today with India Batson *The BEST Tips* | 01:11:57
The YouTube landscape has changed so much over the years! Now successful YouTubers are earning 70-90% of their revenue from brand deals and creators are becoming businesses in order to keep up and make a profitable living. So how do you capitalize on the changing landscape and create content that attracts both subscribers and brands? YouTuber India Baston is on the show today and she’ll be sharing her journey getting to the top of her niche and all the ins and outs of working with brands! “I’d feel much better getting 5000 views on a video I was passionate about than a million views because I copied other people.” India Batson is a 24-year-old beauty and lifestyle content creator based in Atlanta, Georgia. She started her channel 4 years ago when she was in college, she was focused more on makeup and playing a persona she thought people wanted to see, curling her hair and wearing dresses, but that didn’t feel right. She continued to post videos on and off until her senior year in 2017 when she decided to take her channel seriously and started posting videos consistently every week. She found her niche of creating hair content and she slowly grinded her way till she was working as a YouTuber full-time. No viral hit, no crossroads moment, just showing up consistently and being the goto channel in her niche for men and women with curly hair. “My audience is similar to me and if I'm interested in something, most likely they are as well.” She’s now grown to over 250k subscribers and her channel has over 17 million video views! She’s had opportunities to collaborate with major brand deals like Sephora, Gillette, Dove, and Aussie. Aside from her YouTube, she is also a rising actress in appearances in Netflix/NBC’s Good Girls and Netflix’s insatiable! In this episode, India talks about her process for making videos, advice on how to work with brands and understanding your value, how she found a management team to help her navigate all the brand deals that are coming her way and how you can too, and so much more. Enjoy! “If I could start over, I would start from the beginning being myself as that’s all you can ever be.” Join the Zero to Influence Bootcamp waitlist Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

18 Apr 2021 | 5 Things You Can Do RIGHT NOW To Significantly Improve Your YouTube Channel | 00:14:10
Part of what I do in my Zero to Influence Bootcamp and with my private clients involves looking at channels and IMMEDIATELY figuring out what we need to do right now to get this channel to grow. In this episode, I’m going to talk about 5 quick and easy ways you can significantly improve your channel right now! 1. Optimize your best performing video Link to another video of yours in the description at the top and add more in the description, both from other creators and from you that are related to your video. 2. Optimize Adsense Be strategic of where you place your ads 3. Spruce up your backdrop Your channel’s backdrop is a bigger deal than you think - it sets the environment for your content and the ambiance for your viewer. Don’t just sit in front of a blank wall and don’t sit in front of a messy room! 4. Do thumbnail audit of your channel Look at the videos that should be performing better, and look at your click-through rate and the average view percentage. 5. Add playlists to your channel Creates bingeable content and creates another opportunity to search for something and find your channel. These are things you can do RIGHT NOW that can help you earn more, grow your subscribers, and make overall improvements to the success of your channel.

01 Jun 2023 | How to Make Over $100k/Year as a Small YouTuber with Under 100k Subscribers | 00:50:41
This week I had Megan from the Portable Professional on the show! She’s a travel tips & hacks YouTuber (not a vlogger!). In this interview, we talk a lot about monetizing for a channel under 100k subscribers. In 2022, she was able to make $100k off her channel. One of the things that I found really insightful in valuable was how she negotiates with brands. She says she is “ruthless,” and she goes into detail about her high standards when it comes to negotiating with brands. She is so meticulous with her monetization strategy, and it’s really paying off! 14 Jun 2018 | SheSpeaks Founder Aliza Freud | How to Negotiate with Brands as an Influencer | 01:07:17
How do you negotiate with brands the right way, and get deals that others won’t? You’re going to want to listen to this episode to get all the info. Aliza Freud, American Express executive of 10 years, turned Founder of SheSpeaks, dishes the inside scoop on how to successfully work with brands who want to do research and marketing through influencers. “You have to ask yourself - how valuable am I to a brand?” Aliza actually got into the influencer marketing business by accident. She first started SheSpeaks to help brands understand women’s interests and do market research. When she noticed that a lot of sign-ups were women bloggers and influencers and that they wanted to review the products on their platforms, a light bulb went off. “Be aware that your audience on those platforms, you don’t own, you are just renting it.” Through SheSpeaks, she continues to be a strong advocate for making women’s voices heard by helping members make an impact through connecting with brands, the press and each other. Aliza believes that women’s voices are powerful and that there’s no excuse for us to continue to be misrepresented by marketers. “You have to be good at creating the content that is going to get the brand and your audience excited.” After being in business for over 11 years, Aliza has worked with a ton of women influencers, helping them to negotiate with brands and create engaging content that is amplified at-scale to millions. Her network of influencers now consists of over 250,000 women with a combined monthly reach of 300 million consumers! “As much as you can, in your media kits, start talking about how you’ve driven results.” Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

05 Jul 2018 | What Emily Noel Knows For Sure About YouTube After 10+ Years and Nearly a Million Subscribers | 01:07:31
Have you ever wished you had the wisdom of YouTube powerhouse? On this episode, Emily Noel shares how she got into YouTube and stayed on top in the beauty & makeup niche consistently for over 10 years, gaining almost 1 million subscribers. This is part 1 of a 2-part series, and we cover everything! “Be very in tune with who you are and what makes you special, and stick with it.” When Emily Noel started on YouTube in 2007, it was a fun hobby that helped her to blow off steam after a long day at her job as a news anchor at the local ABC affiliate. After seeing the impact she was having on her viewers, her explosive growth and the opening of YouTube’s partnership program, Emily Noel decided to go full time into YouTube in December 2012. “If what you’re saying isn’t beneficial or helpful and it’s only self-serving… it’s just the wrong direction.” Emily Noel’s passion for sharing unbiased beauty and makeup tips and reviews has kept her going strong on YouTube for over 10 years! Her videos have amassed more than 170 million views and she has 960 thousand subscribers (and counting!) to her channel, Beauty Broadcast. She consistently releases 4 videos a week, one being a vlog where she shares her mommy life with her husband and two daughters in Illinois. “If you want to build up that following of people, you’ve got to give them material on a regular basis.” Emily places her relationship with her viewers as her highest priority and for that reason, she has done zero brand deals in her 10+ year YouTube career, which is almost unheard of in her space. She believes that any brand that dictates how she should review their products and disrupts her authentic connection, is not a brand she wants to work with. “You have to be thinking all the time “How am I benefiting the audience?” Because that’s who’s keeping you afloat.” Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

05 Oct 2020 | What does it mean to be yourself on YouTube? (it's not what you think) | 00:13:46
This week I interviewed my first set of twins - the GORGEOUS Kelsey and Kendra, a.k.a the GlamTwinz, and they talked a TON about being authentic, and how they credit their authenticity to their success on YouTube. So what’s so important about authenticity? People don’t come to YouTube to watch someone phony… that’s what television is for. Your energy translates well on camera, and your viewers are going to sense it. If you’re not being authentic, or creating content that doesn’t truly speak to who YOU are, your audience will feel that. By being unapologetically YOU; by being who YOU are, you will form connections with your audience. If you’re too focused on pleasing people, or on creating something that doesn’t truly align with you, your viewers will sense it. If you’re creating content that you love and that you are passionate about, your channel will be much more sustainable, and the passion you have for what you're doing will translate to your videos. Were you inspired by Kelsey and Kendra? Are you ready to commit to authenticity? ----------- Love the podcast? Got some feedback you want to share? Want to request your favorite YouTuber? 09 May 2019 | Getting Real and Vulnerable: My Story | 00:49:43
Time to get really personal and vulnerable ladies... it’s storytime! I’m sharing my entire journey with you, my ups and downs, how I fell in love with YouTube and talking to you about it every week, what I’ve learned from my failures and why I do this podcast for you! I hope you’re ready for this honest and open conversation. “I started thinking: if I'm going to continue with this podcast, I need to help more people.” It’s funny to look back and think that I’ve spent so much time helping you and ladies like you to grow your channels for years, and I didn’t have a big channel myself. Not too long ago, I felt like an imposter whenever I thought about it. But I realized that all the time I could’ve spent growing my channel, I instead used it to grow many channels for my podcast guests who became my friends, and the people who’ve listened to my episodes and reached out for help. I realized that the information I’ve shared in my courses and in the Facebook group, and with anyone who’s asked, came from the experience of learning from several channels, instead of just my own. “You can come up with all the reasons not to do something, and sometimes that negative voice takes over, but sometimes you have to get over yourself.” I went from hating a job at Jamba Juice, working at Nordstrom, selling $55 million worth of real estate properties, trying to become an actor, starting an apparel business with my sister, getting burnt out and selling the apparel business with my sister, getting back in corporate America and having two girls, to finally finding something that fits. Doing this podcast and helping you with my programs feels like home. It feels like what I was meant to do and everything I’ve learned up to this point has made me totally awesome at this. Ready to hear the full journey? Well, listen up. "I knew I was going to do something in business, I just didn't know what." 17 Nov 2017 | The Best Growth Hacks Every Influencer Needs to Know For Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram | Angela Lanter | 01:22:55
Gaining popularity as a blogger or YouTuber doesn’t happen overnight. It takes hard work to put content out there consistently and have people notice you. Since Instagram started, the platform has helped content creators gain subscribers from all over the world. It’s a safe bet that gaining followers using a growth hack for Instagram would also give you a bump in followers on your blog and an increase in your YouTube subscribers as well. “Facebook is like Pinterest, it’s so underused by bloggers.” So, what’s a good growth hack for Instagram? Let’s find out from our guest, Angela Lanter. In this episode, she talks about her best growth hack for Instagram, her journey as a content creator, and a whole lot more! “New platforms come out all the time and you don’t know what’s going to take off.” Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Angela took her first job as a hairstylist and makeup artist working at a small salon giving makeovers for Glamour photos at the age of 15. While in college, she continued to pursue her love of beauty by freelancing for proms, weddings, and other special events. Even after getting a “real job,” she continued to sharpen her beauty skills by watching YouTube tutorials at night for inspiration. “I think YouTube will always be around.” After many years of watching and learning, it was time to start creating her content. In February 2013, Angela launched “Hello Gorgeous” and, in October, her subsequent YouTube channel. By December, she was named as an official PopSugar Select Blogger and was featured as the #1 ShopStyle Lay Down Campaign Blogger. Recognizing her passion for Hello Gorgeous, Angela left her career to take it full-time. By providing her readers with fashion, beauty, and lifestyle tips, she hopes to help each woman feel and look her best inside and out. “So much of fashion blogging nowadays has been diluted to just photos.” Download your FREE guide: 6 Tools YouTubers Use to Get Thousands of Video Views

As a YouTube strategist and coach, I talk to mostly women all day every day about YouTube. One thing that comes up time and time again, especially for larger channels (though the fear of it is more present in smaller channels) is getting haters and trolls.
