07 Feb 2023Episode 33 - Pedro Pascal (SNL Season 48)00:58:27

Oh, my gah. We're back.

It's the 12th episode of the 48th season, and first-time host Pedro Pascal didn't disappoint! Ben, Nate, and Brad rewatch and review the latest episode of Saturday Night Live and discuss their favorite sketches and performances.

Some things you'll find in this episode: Ben likes ethnically questionable hot sauce, Nate has enjoyed British rap for the last twenty years without telling anyone, and Brad is dying for someone to make fan cams dedicated to him. Where was Che and Jost on the Brad-o-meter this week? Which former cast member does Michael Longfellow remind us of? And who received the coveted Ten to One MVP?

Pedro Pascal and a staff of incredible writers and talented castmates gifted us with a memorable mid-season episode of Saturday Night Live. Let's discuss on the Ten to One.

12 May 2022Episode 18 - Benedict Cumberbatch (SNL Season 47)00:57:25

Oh, pizza pie in the pizza sky. Deliver me. Deliver me!

It's only his second time hosting, but Benedict Cumberbatch earned an open invitation to host Saturday Night Live whenever he'd like. It was an episode that tackled Roe v. Wade, Mother's Day, and 80s synthpop Chuck E Cheese love. The guys also tangent on the evolution of cast members and bands and whether that evolution is needed or necessary. Overall, a great host with some genuinely excellent written and excecuted sketches equals the agreed-upon favorite episode of Season 47.

Bradford Oman (aka Ethan Anderton at SlashFilm.com) and his friends Ben Konowitz and Nate Loucks will discuss every sketch from each new episode, rate the host, and pick their favorite player of the evening. Plus, there are bound to be stupid bits and dumb tangents.

19 Nov 2024Episode 79 - Charli XCX (Season 50)00:51:25

Join Brad Oman (of Slashfilm.com), Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz as they break down this week's episode of Saturday Night Live featuring pop sensation Charli XCX pulling double duty as both host and musical guest. From the cold open to the goodnights, the hosts provide funny and sometimes insightful commentary on what worked, what didn't, and how this episode fits into Season 50's legacy.

06 Apr 2022Episode 15 - Jerrod Carmichael (SNL Season 47)01:26:18

“So, how will SNL parody the Will Smith/Chris Rock Oscar event?” We were all wondering about it.

Well, they (Jerrod Carmichael, rather) gave us a great monologue about it, some decent Weekend Update jokes, and only a decent sketch. Join the Ten to One guys and hear their thoughts on those sketches, the tiresome political cold openings, and the recent public grievances of some SNL castmembers regarding included sketches. Join in on the fun and let us know what you think on the Ten to One Podcast Facebook or Twitter page.

The Ten to One Podcast is a Saturday Night Live rewatch and review podcast hosted by Bradford Oman (Ethan Anderton from SlashFilm.com), Ben Konowitz, and Nate Loucks. This trio of knuckleheads are die-hard SNL fans and sketch comedy fans. They break down each new episode of the late-night sketch series, picking their favorite sketches, naming the best player of the night, and generally wasting everybody's time, especially their own.

14 May 2024Episode 64 - Maya Rudolph (Season 49)01:04:54

Beyonce is back, baby! Kind of. Former Saturday Night Live cast member Maya Rudolph returned to host the show for the third time this week, and she brought back her Beyonce on Hot Ones impression. But that's not all. We also witnessed some British cave people, a hilarious Please Don't Destroy sketch, and an endearing Mother's Day tribute from the entire cast, among other things.

Join hosts Brad Oman, Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz as they delve into a review and recap of the May 11, 2024, episode of Saturday Night Live on the latest episode of the Ten to One Podcast.

03 Apr 2023Episode 37 - Quinta Brunson (SNL Season 48)00:48:16

We're back with the first of another trio of new Saturday Night Live episodes to usher in spring. Quinta Brunson, the Emmy-winning star, writer, producer, and creator of Abbott Elementary, makes her hosting debut, and it's a good one! We love this tiny but hilarious queen of comedy!

There are a couple of valleys among these SNL peaks, but it's mostly a home run. Plus, Weekend Update plays host to an epic April Fools Day prank between Michael Che and Colin Jost. What does that mean for the Brad-o-Meter? You'll have to listen to find out.

Don't get into a traffic altercation while watching this one, stay away from stairs, and make sure to tell Ben how ridiculous it is that he has no idea who Lisa Frank is. Oh, and find out what special surprise Brad found at a bookstore that ties into an upcoming host. Oooooh! The suspense!

21 Jan 2025Episode 83 - Dave Chappelle (Season 50)00:49:07

Join Brad Oman (Slashfilm.com) and Nate Loucks (minus a Florida-bound Ben Konowitz) as they break down Dave Chappelle's fourth SNL hosting appearance in the first episode of 2025.

This week, the dynamic duo analyzes Chappelle's historic monologue - the longest in SNL history - where he tackles everything from the upcoming presidential inauguration to current events, delivered with his signature sharp wit and social commentary. They'll dissect every sketch from worst to best, including the star-studded MSNBC cold open featuring James Austin Johnson's Trump (shocking, we know!) and Bowen Yang's George Santos (always a welcome return!), the return of "Immigrant Dad Talk Show" with Marcello Hernandez, and the dating show parody "Pop The Balloon" featuring musical guest GloRilla.

Brad and Nate dive deep into Weekend Update's packed segment, which features Michael Longfellow discussing TikTok's shutdown and Sarah Sherman's scene-stealing Nosferatu impression.

28 Feb 2023Episode 34 - Woody Harrelson (SNL Season 48)00:55:47

It's the 13th episode of the 48th season of Saturday Night Live.

"AND WHY DIDN'T WE LIKE THIS EPISODE?"

"Because it was bad."

Woody Harrelson stops by Studio 8H for the fifth time. To celebrate, we got an antiquated Boaty McBoatface sketch, a hilarious Cologuard commercial, and an unfunny anti-vax monologue. We also play "Name the SNL 5-Timer."

What did the Brad-o-meter read for the Weekend Update chemistry? What did NBA fan Ben think of James Austin Johnson's Bill Walton impression? Who did we pick for our MVP and Sketch of the Night?

It's time for the Ten to One!

This week on the Ten to One Podcast, we're getting wet with Jason Momoa (...wait...no) as he hosts the iconic show for the second time! Grab your Hawaiian shirt and join our hosts - Brad Oman from SlashFilm.com, Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz - as they use their wit and humor to break down each act of Momoa's latest SNL performance.

Was Momoa's opening monologue a roaring success, or did it fall flat? Which live sketch had us rolling with laughter, and which ones missed the mark? How did this show compare to Momoa's last appearance?

We also discuss the episode's MVP and our personal favorite sketch of the night. So, take a deep breath and dive into the Momocean of this week's episode of the Ten to One.

14 Dec 2022Episode 28 - Steve Martin & Martin Short (SNL Season 48)01:09:48

In solidarity with Saturday Night Live having two hosts this week, the Ten to One Podcast also went with the stellar two-some of Ben and Nate as Braddy Two Shoes was under the weather. And finally, after 27 episodes, some academic professionalism was brought to your favorite SNL rewatch podcast. As the resident Dickens scholar, Nate dissects the Charles Dickens sketch while Ben, the professional that owns a truck, talks about hauling human waste in buckets.

The Steve Martin and Martin Short episode brought us some great sketches, a few missed moments, and two lousy Weekend Update bits. Nevertheless, it was a fine addition to Saturday Night Live's 48th season of shows.

As a bonus, Nate and Ben talk about Entertainment Weekly's recent article "The best Saturday Night Live cast members, ranked" and who they'd add and subtract to the list. So put your headphones on your Walkmen and enjoy a new episode of the Ten to One!

24 Dec 2024Episode 82 - Martin Short (Season 50)00:54:04

Join Brad Oman (of Slashfilm.com), Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz as they unwrap SNL's star-studded Christmas episode featuring Martin Short joining the prestigious Five-Timers Club.

This week, the hosts break down an episode packed with holiday cheer and celebrity cameos, starting with a historic cold open that saw Short receiving his Five-Timers jacket from fellow club members, including Tom Hanks, Tina Fey, Paul Rudd, and more. The trio analyzes how the "Only Murders in the Building" star brought his signature theatrical energy to sketches like "Christmas Airport Parade" (featuring Tom Hanks as Sully) and a chaotic "Peanuts Christmas" rehearsal.

From Short's musical monologue to Weekend Update's year-end joke swap tradition (complete with a surprise appearance by Scarlett Johansson), the hosts count down every sketch from worst to best.

11 Oct 2022Episode 22 - Brendan Gleeson (SNL Season 48)01:00:01

After a so-so premiere episode, Brendan Gleeson brings the goods for the second episode of the 48th season of Saturday Night Live. Viewers were treated to a Bowen Yang-hosted game show, a googly-eyed Sarah Sherman, some new content from the Please Don't Destroy guys, and blood... so... much... blood. Brad, Nate, and Ben talk about their mutual affection for the new cast members (Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker) and disagree over the Try Guys, whoever they are. SNL is back in full force, everyone, and so is the Ten to One Podcast.

The Ten to One Podcast is an hour-long seasonal podcast hosted by Go Flix Yourself hosts Bradford Oman (aka Ethan Anderton at SlashFilm.com), Ben Konowitz, and Nate Loucks. They discuss every sketch from each new episode, rate the host, and pick their favorite player of the evening.

26 May 2022Episode 20 - Natasha Lyonne (SNL Season 47)01:03:54

Lorne accidentally gifted Pete Davidson a sock, so he's free. As are Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Kate McKinnon. But, we get one more episode to enjoy with the entire Season 47 cast, including Natasha Lyonne as the host. The guys dissected each sketch and pre-tape and talked about the loss of the four cast members while wondering if this is a more significant loss than the Season 38 departures (Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Tim Robinson)? Join in on the fun and let us know what your favorite sketch was on Facebook or Twitter.

10 Nov 2021Episode 3 - Kieran Culkin (SNL Season 47)00:51:56

Kieran Culkin hosted Saturday Night Live on November 6 with musical guest Ed Sheeran. How was the show? Did Macaulay Culkin make an appearance? Was there a Home Alone sketch? Which one of our own show's hosts forgot the name of the podcast? Let's dig in.

The 10-to-1 Podcast is a new Saturday Night Live podcast hosted by Bradford Oman (aka Ethan Anderton from SlashFilm.com) and his friends  Ben Konowitz and Nate Loucks. This trio of knuckleheads are die-hard SNL fans, and they'll be breaking down every new episode of the late night  sketch series, picking their favorite sketches, naming the best player of the night, and generally wasting everybody's time, especially their own.

28 Feb 2024Episode 57 - Shane Gillis (Season 49)00:57:21

He's back! Shane Gillis returned to Saturday Night Live after being fired in 2019, not just with a bang but with a mix of awkwardness, stiltedness, and some really funny sketches.

Ben, Brad, and Nate of the Ten to One Podcast reviewed and recapped the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, which included Gillis' awkward standup monologue, some sketches with timing issues, and a hilarious cut-for-time sketch.

Didn't watch it yet? No worries, you can get all the details on the Ten to One!

03 Feb 2022Episode 10 - Willem Dafoe (SNL Season 47)01:08:16

Willem Dafoe is an acclaimed actor, but how do his acting chops translate to sketch comedy? We have some opinions. Plus, we talk about Ben's current SNL crush, why the political sketches aren't landing, Aidy Bryant and Bowen Yang's Weekend Update bit that may or may not have already been done in a previous generation of the show.

01 Nov 2022Episode 24 - Jack Harlow (SNL Season 48)01:05:34

Saturday Night Live has given us plenty of legendary sketches on their annual Halloween episode, including Matt Foley's scary story, Stefon's hottest Halloween tips, Trick-or-Treat with Jon Hamm, and Haunted Elevator. In 2022, Jack Harlow added Joker Wedding, Halloween Red Carpet Show, Horror Movie Trailer, and the return of Ibiza's own David S. Pumpkins.

And, though we couldn't name three Jack Harlow songs under the direst duress, we are certified podcast reviewers of chicanery on Saturday Night Live. Cecily Strong is back. Tom Hanks paid a visit. And our favorite Drunk Uncle (Bobby Moynihan) told us why he doesn't celebrate Halloween (Falloween is also completely off the table.)

So, get some clearance Halloween candy from your local grocer, put on your favorite pair of JNCO jeans, and enjoy a new episode of the Ten to One Podcast!

04 Nov 2024Episode 77 - John Mulaney (Season 50)00:55:56

In the latest episode of the Ten to One Podcast, hosts Brad Oman, Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz discuss the newest episode of Saturday Night Live, which aired on November 2, 2024. This highly anticipated SNL installment was hosted by fan-favorite and comedian John Mulaney, marking his sixth time taking the stage at Studio 8H.

With the impending election casting its shadow, it was also the last new episode of SNL before the big day. The episode kicked off with an internet-hyped cold open featuring a surprise appearance by presidential candidate Kamala Harris, setting the tone for what would be a fantastic night of comedy and satire.

Join the hosts as they analyze each sketch, highlight the standout moments, and share their thoughts on Mulaney's comedic brilliance. Whether you're a devoted SNL fan or a casual viewer, this podcast episode promises fun commentary and plenty of laughs.

05 Oct 2022Episode 21 - Miles Teller (SNL Season 48)01:02:30

Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney, Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor, Aristotle Athari, and Chris Redd have exited stage left, but Brad, Nate, and Ben are here for another season of the Ten to One Podcast, breaking down each episode of Saturday Night Live. From the instant classic sketches to the Caribbean Girls, the Ten to One Podcast is here for it all.

Fresh off the success of Top Gun: Maverick, mustache-less Miles Teller kicked off the first episode of SNL Season 48. Ben thought the episode was a decrescendo, Nate wondered when Ben learned about musical theory, and Brad fell in love with a spotted lanternfly. We were all impressed with Michael Longfellow and unimpressed with a weird roided-out Grimace. It was an episode of a few highs and many lows, but altogether rejoicing that Saturday Night Live is back again.

They break down each new episode of the late-night sketch series, picking their favorite sketches, naming the best player of the night, and generally wasting everybody's time, especially their own.

25 Jan 2023Episode 31 - Aubrey Plaza (SNL Season 48)00:57:48

It's time for a new episode of the Ten to One! As always, we give you an in-depth review of the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. This week, SNL was hosted by former NBC page and awkward and lovable Aubrey Plaza. Join us as we discuss the best and worst of the night's sketches, predict Jost and Che's rating on the Brad-ometer, and, for the first time, talk about the musical guest thanks to a statuesque Sharon Stone. Bowen Yang debuts a George Santos impression (twice!), Leslie Knope tries a joke at the Weekend Update desk, and President Joe Biden stops by (kinda.)

Whether you're a long-time fan of SNL or a newcomer to the show, join us in the conversation and let us know your thoughts on the latest episode!

SHOW LINKS:

  • Please Don't Destroy - Tommy - Ben mentions this sketch with Brendon Gleeson as a great example of a serious actor going all-in with the silliness of Saturday Night Live.
  • $100m and a sequel in the works: why has M3gan become such a hit (and a gay icon)? - An article in the Guardian about M3GAN becoming a gay icon, as referenced in the M3GAN 2.0 pre-tape sketch on SNL.
  • Pierre the Backstage Llama Passed Away - "Considering how long this visual gag has gone on, one could imagine that "Saturday Night Live" has gone through quite a few llamas over the years. However, few reached a level of fame among fans of the show quite like Pierre, who appeared several times alongside various hosts and walked numerous backstage hallways. Sadly, in March 2022, the news broke that Pierre had passed away."

ABOUT THE TEN TO ONE PODCAST: Named after the time slot reserved for the oddball sketches of Saturday Night Live, this podcast from three die-hard SNL fans dives into every new episode of the sketch series that is not only a staple of television but an institution of comedy.

11 Oct 2023The Ten to One Talks: It's Pat00:39:24

NOTE: This episode was recorded before SNL announced its return for the Fall 2023 season.

In the latest episode of the 'Ten to One Podcast,' hosts Brad, Ben, and Nate spin their discussion web around the cult classic SNL-based film - 'It's Pat,' a film built around the quirky gender-unclear protagonist character from the 90s.

This isn't a great film, but we had a blast talking about other 0% Rotten Tomato films and the few things we found funny.

06 Dec 2022Episode 27 - Keke Palmer (SNL Season 48)01:05:50

And we're back! Keke Palmer is pregnant and hilarious, Sarah Sherman is a real-life muppet, Kenan and Kel reunite, and Michael Longfellow has a nudist stepdad. In short, the latest episode of Saturday Night Live gave us an incredible first-time host (Keke Palmer) and some of our favorite sketches of Season 48. And all it took to get such excellence was to ship Brad to Utah! Who knew?? Plus, after only 27 episodes of the Ten to One Podcast, Ben finally admitted his undying love for soap opera legend Susan Lucci.

Friends and foes, Saturday Night Live is back from break, and so is the Ten to One Podcast.

In this laughter-filled episode of the Ten to One Podcast, hosts Bradford Oman (from Slashfilm.com), Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz dive deep into Kristen Wiig's highly anticipated return to the Saturday Night Live stage, marking her ascension to the prestigious "5-Timers Club." 19 May 2022Episode 19 - Selena Gomez (SNL Season 47)00:56:17

Even great hitters sometimes strike out (thas sah.) And, though it's been a good - if not great - season of Saturday Night Live, we were bound to have one or two bad episodes. But, not all is lost. We got some great stuff from Sarah Sherman, Steve Martin, and Brad finally got the gag he's been begging for all season; bubble butts.

Former cast member Molly Shannon returns to Saturday Night Live for her second time as a host, bringing some of her former characters with her. We discussed the highs and lows of this episode and what we believed was the best sketch and the MVP of the night.

In addition, Nate learns he isn't using the word 'titular' correctly, Ben talks about bombing a joke while doing standup comedy, and Brad makes some guesses at who might be the final three hosts for this season of Saturday Night Live.

Don't even get us started... because it's time for the Ten to One!

09 Dec 2024Episode 80 - Paul Mescal (Season 50)00:51:00

Join Brad Oman (Slashfilm.com), Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz as they break down Saturday Night Live's eighth episode of Season 50, featuring first-time host Paul Mescal.

This week, the hosts dissect a star-studded episode that brought beloved SNL alums Dana Carvey and David Spade back to Studio 8H, with Carvey reviving his iconic Church Lady character. They'll analyze how the 28-year-old Gladiator II star (and youngest host of the season) handled his comedic debut, from his Irish-themed monologue to sketches playing on his dramatic acting chops.

The trio counts down every sketch from worst to best, including a Spotify Wrapped sketch featuring a surprise appearance by Trisha Paytas (who is that?!), a musical Gladiator II trailer parody (hilarious!), and a Please Don't Destroy pre-tape embracing Mescal's "internet daddy" status.

From Church Chat to courtroom comedy, red carpet impressions to male stripper mayhem, get ready for an in-depth analysis of every moment from this memorable December episode of SNL's landmark 50th season.

18 Nov 2021Episode 4 - Jonathan Majors (SNL Season 47)00:42:06

Jonathan Majors hosted Saturday Night Live on November 13 with musical guest Taylor Swift. How was the up and coming star of Loki and The Harder They Fall in his hosting debut? If you listen to Nate and Ben, you'd get the wrong take. But if you listen to Brad, it's just right. Isn't it cool how these episode descriptions have an inherent bias from the person who writes them (it's Brad!).

Plus, find out Ben's jolly morning greeting at his office and see if Brad can remember the e-mail address for the show!

The 10-to-1 Podcast is a new Saturday Night Live podcast hosted by Bradford Oman (aka Ethan Anderton from SlashFilm.com) and his friends   Ben Konowitz and Nate Loucks. 20 Dec 2022Episode 29 - Austin Butler (SNL Season 48)01:03:53

Ol' Bubonic Brad is back from the dead to join Ben and Nate to talk about the latest episode of Saturday Night Live featuring host Austin Butler. We saw Jewish Elvis and Cathy Anne and had a blue Christmas saying goodbye to longtime (and legendary!) cast member Cecily Strong. Ben got offended by a whale joke, Brad doesn't like the taste of marzipan, and Nate doesn't like white elephant exchanges or... fun... in general.

It's the final episode of Saturday Night Live for 2022. Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and everything in between; it's time for the Ten to One.

20 Dec 2021Episode 7 - Paul Rudd (SNL Season 47)01:02:28

Well, that was weird! Paul Rudd hosted Saturday Night Live on December 18th and joined the coveted 5-Timers Club. But, because of the rapid spread of the Omicron COVID-19 variant, the episode had no live audience, musical guest, or cast.

So, how was the show? Which one of our podcast hosts possibly introduced COVID-19 to the SNL staff? Why were sketches so long in the 90s? And, will Amazon deliver Christmas socks before Christmas Day? Find out the answer to all these questions and see what we think of this latest episode.

The Ten to One Podcast is a new Saturday Night Live podcast hosted by Bradford Oman (aka Ethan Anderton from SlashFilm.com), Ben Konowitz, and Nate Loucks. 09 Nov 2022Episode 25 - Amy Schumer (SNL Season 48)01:02:10

The Ten to One Podcast is a podcast made by simple comedy lovers for simple comedy lovers. We don't operate under many rules of comedy, but an immutable law states that if someone wears a big dumb prop hat that progressively gets absurdly large during the sketch, we will laugh.

Amy Schumer returned for her third appearance on Saturday Night Live. While not all the sketches were great (here's looking at you, tired political cold opening formula), Schumer gave us a hilarious standup/monologue, a few great sketch performances, and a really big dumb hat. We talk a bit about our experiences with jury duty, which former SNL star loved the Jets, whether James Austin Johnson's Biden impression can compete with his Trump impression, and big dumb hats.

So, grab yourself a Fruitcake Mountain Dew, put on some comfy stretch pants, and let's discuss this week's episode of Saturday Night Live on the Ten to One Podcast.

15 Nov 2023Episode 49 - Timothée Chalamet (Season 49)00:52:32

In this episode of the Ten to One Podcast, hosts Ben Konowitz, Nate Loucks, and Brad Oman discuss the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live, featuring Timothée Chalamet as the host. The hosts provide a comprehensive and entertaining review of the episode, analyzing the standout sketches and performances.

The guys share their thoughts on memorable moments from the episode, including the appearances of recurring characters such as Giant/Tiny Horse, $mokecheddathaassgetta, and a new character from Chloe Troast, Cassidy.

Whether you are a die-hard SNL fan or simply enjoy engaging pop culture critiques, this episode of the Ten to One Podcast offers an entertaining and insightful review of the latest SNL installment. Tune in to join the hosts as they dissect the sketches, performances, and overall impact of the episode with Timothée Chalamet as the host.

11 Nov 2024Episode 78 - Bill Burr (Season 50)00:51:28

Join hosts Brad Oman (of Slashfilm.com), Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz as they dive into this week's politically-charged episode of Saturday Night Live, featuring the return of Bill Burr as host. The comedian took on the challenging role of hosting the first post-election episode, bringing his signature no-holds-barred style to Studio 8H.

As usual, the Ten to One crew breaks down every sketch from the night, from the atypical cold open addressing the election results to Burr's disjointed monologue. The trio debates their picks for the best sketch of the night and crowns this week's cast member MVP while also examining how this episode compares to Burr's first hosting stint in 2020.

Join Brad Oman (Slashfilm.com), Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz as they break down Saturday Night Live's holiday episode. The episode features comedian and former cast member Chris Rock, returning for his fourth hosting appearance.

They'll analyze how the "Rustin" star brought his unique style to sketches like "Sexual Harassment Charlie" (featuring Kenan Thompson's third appearance as the character) and the everything-has-gone-wrong "Gallbladder Surgery" sketch with special guest Adam Sandler.

The trio thoroughly examines each sketch, from Sarah Sherman's impression of Nancy Grace in the cold open to festive highlights like "Mall Santas" and "Office Christmas Party Extravaganza." With parodies of The Simpsons and awkward blind date scenarios, get ready for a detailed analysis as we celebrate the first former cast member to host Season 50.

In addition, Ben and Brad talk about their illustrious standup career, which cast members could leave at the end of the season, and more of Brad’s unnecessary and spurious dissection of the Michael Che/Colin Jost love affair.

14 Apr 2022Episode 16 - Jake Gyllenhaal (SNL Season 47)01:04:57

As much as it pains Nate to admit, Ben and Bradford's predictions were right; Jake Gyllenhaal was a great SNL host. And while the episode wasn't the best of the season, there was some clever Bowen Yang green screening, impeccable HGTV satire, and Sarah Sherman terrorizing the world as Chucky. The guys also talk about David Spade's book, former castmembers they'd like to see host, and what level of emotional intimacy Jost and Che need to show to appease Bradford Oman.

07 Mar 2023Episode 35 - Travis Kelce (SNL Season 48)00:53:29

It's been 35 episodes of the Ten to One Podcast, and we finally had fireworks. All it took was a Super Bowl-winning tight end to stir the pot among Ben, Brad, and Nate. And, although this might be the most contentious episode of the Ten to One, we still had a lot of fun reviewing each sketch of Travis Kelce's appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Brad thinks Jason Kelce seems like a real good time, Nate is frustrated that the other two can't pronounce Gheorghe Mureșan correctly, and Ben is in awe of some Dilbert cosplay.

We've got the Brad-o-Meter, MVP, sketch-of-the-night, and some fun banter back and forth. Friends, sit back and enjoy; it's time for the Ten to One!

31 Oct 2023Episode 48 - Nate Bargatze (Season 49)00:52:37

On the latest episode of the Ten to One Podcast, the hosts - Nate, Brad, and Ben - discuss last week's episode of Saturday Night Live, which featured Nate Bargatze as the host and electrifying performances by Foo Fighters.

The team is impressed by Bargatze's debut on SNL, despite his lack of acting experience. They discuss the eerie similarities between the song "Lake Beach" and their own hometown. They also have a debate about the correct pronunciation of regular cast member Ego Nwodim's name. The hosts have fun dissecting each segment of the show and share their favorite sketch, as well as who they believe was the MVP of the night.

Listen in for in-depth commentary, critique, and Ben's impression of Christopher Walken over and over again.

31 Jan 2024Episode 55 - Dakota Johnson (Season 49)00:50:58

We're back with another episode of the Ten to One Podcast. While the show is normally hosted by Nate Loucks, Ben Konowitz, and Brad Oman from Slashfilm.com, for the second week in a row, Brad is absent. Has anyone noticed? Does anyone care? Papa, can you hear me?

In the latest episode of SNL, Dakota Johnson hosted for the second time, and Justin Timberlake returned as the musical guest. Jimmy Fallon, Mark Cuban, and Barbara Cocorran visited, as did Dave Chappelle (for some weird reason.) Ben and Nate discuss what went well and what didn't in this episode, their favorite sketch of the night, and the episode's MVP.

We had fun, and we hope you do, too. It's time for the Ten to One!

06 Jan 2023Episode 30 - BONUS - The Ten to One Top-10 SNL Cast Members of All Time01:05:18

Since there's a break in new episodes of Saturday Night Live, we took time to create and discuss lists of our top-10 favorite Saturday Night Live cast members.

Nate confesses that he’s not in love with the earliest few seasons of Saturday Night Live, especially compared to the 90s cast. Brad insults Nate, Ben, and America with his list placement of Chris Farley. And in breaking news, Ben embarrassingly admits that he doesn’t enjoy Kristen Wiig’s Target Lady or Gilly.

And as a bonus, Ben, Nate, and Brad throw in their favorite hosts. Because why not?

Are you tired of waiting for a new episode of Saturday Night Live? Have you caught yourself humming random Lonely Island songs recently? Did you get in a fight over the holidays arguing with your grandma about why Maya Rudolph was an underappreciated member of SNL? You might have a problem. But we have the cure! More Ten to One!

In addition, you'll find out the answers to when the last time Ben did a spit-take in a theater was? What is the most ten to one sketch that has ever existed? Che and Jost, will they or won't they? Meatball men singing little meatball songs.
The Paw Patrol.
And, Aidy Bryant is thiiiirsty for Oscar Isaac.

Welcome to Season 47 of Saturday Night Live! And, things are getting weird. But, no worries, the Ten to One Podcast team is here for it. Take a listen to this week's Ten to One Podcast to find out more of our thoughts on Oscar Isaac, Ben's love for fanfic, and Anna Delvey's odd voice.

16 Nov 2022Episode 26 - Dave Chappelle (SNL Season 48)01:03:24

For the third time, Dave Chappelle appeared on Saturday Night Live. And for the third time, he appeared the Saturday after an election. But unlike 2016 and 2020, this time felt a bit different. And the Ten to One guys have some opinions about it. But that's not all that was discussed in this episode. Oh, no! Which one of the hosts had a super awesome Home Alone Talkboy? Should Sarah Sherman be considered for a future Weekend Update host? Who should host in the second half of the season? And, as always, we picked a castmember MVP and sketch-of-the-night.

We're not quite as lovable as Molly Kearney, but we're still worth the listen. It's time for another episode of the Ten to One Podcast.

31 Oct 2024Bonus Episode - Not-So-Live from Indiana, It's Saturday Night! - Go Flix Yourself00:53:23

What's this? The first cross-podcast episode. Write this day in your history books, friends.

Ben, Brad, and Nate host a podcast called "The Ten to One Podcast," where they review and discuss new episodes of Saturday Night Live. They also have a universally beloved film and comedy podcast called "Go Flix Yourself."

These three friends and fellas were particularly excited for these two passions to merge in "Saturday Night," a new movie by Jason Reitman that explores the 90 minutes leading up to the premiere of the first episode of SNL on October 11, 1975. This is a bonus episode where they talk exclusively about "Saturday Night" and they hope you enjoy it.

24 Jan 2024Episode 54 - Jacob Elordi (Season 49)01:01:42

Strap in, folks, because even with Brad stamping passports across the globe, Ben in the clutches of COVID's sneaky grip, and Nate being...well, quintessentially Nate, the stage is set for an unmissable installment of the Ten to One Podcast!

In today's better-than-average episode, we're diving deep into first-time host and heartthrob (we get it, SNL... enough already!) Jacob Elordi's appearance at Studio 8H.

So, turn up the volume and prepare for laughter, banter, and a TERRIBLE Don Pardo impression—it's the Ten to One Podcast.

20 Oct 2021Episode 1 - Rami Malek (SNL Season 47)01:07:58

The 10-to-1 Podcast is a new Saturday Night Live podcast hosted by Bradford Oman (aka Ethan Anderton from SlashFilm.com) and his friends Ben Konowitz and Nate Loucks. This trio of knuckleheads are die-hard SNL fans, and they'll be breaking down every new episode of the late night sketch series, picking their favorite sketches, naming the best player of the night, and generally wasting everybody's time, especially their own.

Since they weren't smart enough to start this podcast at the beginning of Season 47, they're starting with host Rami Malek, the Oscar-winning star of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the villain of the James Bond sequel "No Time to Die."

Enjoy!

07 Oct 2024Episode 74 - Nate Bargatze (Season 50)01:10:33

Join hosts Brad Oman from Slashfilm.com, Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz in their discussion of the second episode of Saturday Night Live's 50th season. This week's episode featured comedian Nate Bargatze as the host, known for his relaxed, observational humor. It was Bargatze's second time hosting in a year's time, which is rare for the show.

During this episode, the Ten to One team analyzes Bargatze's performance and highlights the standout sketches and comedic chemistry. They share their thoughts on everything from the opening monologue to the final sketch, as well as their opinions on the new cast members and recurring sketches.

Whether you watched the episode live or missed it, tune in to the Ten to One Podcast for SNL commentary, discussions, and a few laughs.

31 Jan 2023Episode 32 - Michael B. Jordan (SNL Season 48)00:58:18

We're now at the halfway point of Saturday Night Live's 48th season. Hosting this episode was first-time host Michael B. Jordan. Ben, Nate, and Brad review the best and worst sketches.

Is the State Farm sketch the perfect sketch? Can someone hire Michael B. Jordan an accent coach? What score does the Weekend Update receive on the Brad-o-meter? Do Brad and Ben ever feel ashamed when they disagree with Nate on which sketches are funny (Michael Che's Doorman Carl)? Why do people go to drive-through lines that already have lines of 30 cars? We're looking at you Chick-fil-a customers!

Are you a fan of Saturday Night Live? Then, listen in on the Ten to One Podcast as we talk about episode 11 of the 48th season of SNL.

ABOUT THE TEN TO ONE PODCAST: Named after the time slot reserved for the oddball sketches of Saturday Night Live, this podcast from three die-hard SNL fans dives into every new episode of the sketch series that is not only a staple of television but an institution of comedy.

Bradford Oman (aka Ethan Anderton at SlashFilm.com), Ben Konowitz, and Nate Loucks will discuss every sketch from each new episode, rate the host, and pick their favorite player of the evening. Plus, there are bound to be stupid bits and dumb tangents.

14 Mar 2023Episode 36 - Jenna Ortega (SNL Season 48)00:59:03

The Ten to One Podcast is a Saturday Night Live recap and review show.

After the undeserved attack on Travis Kelce from Captain Curmudgeon Bradford Oman last week, we're back with a much happier and harmonious hosting crew to review Jenna Ortega's first time hosting Saturday Night Live.

Ben comes up with an excellent name for a band (750 for Lenny Pickett), Brad talks about his foray into tweeting about the 1975's Matty Healy, and Nate wonders if his likes on Twitter are viewed as endorsements. They aren't. Believe him; they aren't.

Molly Kearney visited the Weekend Update desk for the first time, the Please Don't Destroy guys released a new song, and what happens at the Waffle House stays at the Waffle House. Plus, Jenna Ortega brought Fred Armisen back for a visit.

You're a fan of Saturday Night Live? So are we! It's time for another episode of the Ten to One.

19 Jan 2022Episode 8 - Ariana DeBose (SNL Season 47)00:55:52

It's the first Ten to One Podcast of 2022! And, it's quite the episode. Ariana DeBose (West Side Story, Schmigadoon!, Hamilton, etc.) hosted Saturday Night Live on January 15th. How did Ariana perform? Which cast member may or may not be a Scientologist based on Ben's intense Reddit research? Queen La-Ti-Fa Ray-Me-Do? And, which impression do you care more about; Joe Biden or Eric Adams? Plus, don't miss the rundown on staff changes that happened over the break.

05 Mar 2024Episode 58 - Sydney Sweeney (Season 49)00:55:05

Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in Euphoria, White Lotus, and Anyone But You, made her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live. The episode featured the return of the Please Don't Destroy group, a hilarious pre-taped segment about Bowen Yang's sexuality, and guest appearances by Glen Powell and Gina Gershon.

Join Ben Konowitz, Nate Loucks, and Brad Oman from Slashfilm.com as they recap and review each sketch, sharing their opinions on what worked and what didn't. This will include their choice for Sketch of the Night and Most Valuable Performer. Sit back, take a deep breath, and prepare for the Ten to One.

18 Oct 2022Episode 23 - Megan Thee Stallion (SNL Season 48)00:57:57

It was the third episode of season 48 of Saturday Night Live, and host Megan Thee Stallion pulled double booty duty, Bowen Yang got brought, and Kenan Thompson couldn't see the dang deer.

We have a new episode of the Ten to One Podcast, and we're answering the following questions: So… what's y'all's trauma? Does Nate have a pancake butt? How would we rank the first three episodes? What does Brad really know about cuticle maintenance? Neville Longfellow. Michael Longbottom. Who cares?

We'll review each sketch, discuss the episode MVP, and pick a favorite sketch of the night. It's the Ten to One Podcast!

19 Apr 2023Episode 39 - Ana de Armas (SNL Season 48)01:13:55

It's a new episode of the Ten to One Podcast! We recap and review Ana de Armas' appearance on Saturday Night Live, including our favorite and least favorite sketch of the night and our MVP cast member. SNL was revisited by Matt Schatt and Lisa from Temecula and some puppies trying to make it in the acting world. Molly Kearney gives their opinions on recent anti-LGBTQ bills in the United States, and Sarah Sherman gives us a new character, Guru Genesis Fry.

The guys also discuss whether they had any times when they didn’t remember the night before (with a slightly gross anecdote that we won't get into here!), Señor Konowitz talks about his time in Spanish class (which is probably the last time he's ever used any foreign language!), and Nate gets caught not listening to his co-hosts during the podcast (which is really the only time he's ever been quiet!).

It was an up-and-down episode as a whole, but we had a blast talking about it anyway. Are you a Saturday Night Live fan? It’s time for the Ten to One!

15 Mar 2022Episode 14 - Zoë Kravitz (SNL Season 47)01:10:06

"Hey, Cortana, break us off a piece of another episode of Saturday Night Live."

Zoë Kravitz made her hosting debut on SNL this week (fun fact: it's her second time on the show, though), which means she gets the full Ten to One treatment. Is Dan Bulldozer Ben Konowitz's spirit animal? Isn't cornhole a real word? Why can't SNL get the cold opening right after all these episodes? And, should Brad get more involved with the Kanye/Pete feud? Take a listen to this week's Ten to One Podcast and join in on the conversation.

12 Sep 2024Ranking SNL Digital Shorts (The Finale)01:00:45

In this episode of the Ten to One Podcast, hosts Brad Oman from Slashfilm.com, Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz wrap up their summer exploration of the comedic genius of The Lonely Island from Saturday Night Live. Since SNL is on its seasonal break, this dedicated trio has been revisiting the digital shorts that defined an era of humor, focusing on the final contributions from seasons 36 and 37. This episode marks the third and final installment in their special series dedicated to these groundbreaking shorts.

This week, Brad, Nate, and Ben get nostalgic as they analyze the last set of digital shorts from The Lonely Island team - Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer. They will break down each short's impact, creativity, and placement in the vast universe of SNL's digital content.

But that's not all - after revisiting over 100 digital shorts, the hosts face the daunting task of compiling their ultimate top-10 list. Which shorts will make the cut? Will "Lazy Sunday" reign supreme, or will "I'm On A Boat" sail away with the top spot? Or perhaps an underdog will emerge as a favorite. Expect plenty of debates, laughs, and a walk down memory lane as Brad, Nate, and Ben honor The Lonely Island's unparalleled contribution to SNL and comedy as a whole.

Don't miss out on this nostalgic journey filled with humor, insights, and the difficult decisions that come with ranking comedy gold.

In this episode, explore the journey from the sketch's inception to the production of the film, giving thoughts and opinions about the journey from sketch to major motion picture. Our hosts will delve into this beloved comedy's humor, characters, and cultural impact. Brad also shares insights from his interview with Wayne's World's director Penelope Spheeris.

03 Mar 2022Episode 12 - John Mulaney (SNL Season 47)00:52:55

John Mulaney is officially an SNL five-timer, and we've got some thoughts on it. The former SNL writer and now regular host showed his teeth, sang some songs, and gave us a laughable look into his sobriety. Three new writers joined the show, Cecily Strong was back, and Chris Redd continues to impress. Take a listen and let the Ten to One fellas know what you thought of this week's SNL episode.

13 Mar 2024Episode 59 - Josh Brolin (Season 49)00:54:05

This week on the Ten to One Podcast, we're diving deep into the latest SNL episode, which aired on March 10, 2024. The ruggedly dashing Josh Brolin graced the stage of Studio 8H for his third hosting gig amidst the swirling sands of his latest blockbuster success, Dune 2.

As usual, we unpack the night's sketches, surprises, and those unforgettable moments that SNL often delivers (hello, Scarlett Johansson.) From a funnier-than-usual cold open to some quality pre-tapes, we're covering it all, sketch by sketch, laugh by laugh.

And, be warned, the audio isn't up to our usual standards, as we had to record this episode remotely. Brad is sweating in Texas, Ben is absent in a Mexican nursing home, and Nate is in Indiana, as he always is.
