The Astro Orbitor at Disneyland is not a new attraction. A version of the attraction opened in 1956. Astro Orbiter opened in 1974 at Walt Disney World. We also discussed a great deal about pandemic weight gain and going to the parks. We discussed the new annual pass program at Disney World. Disney's Boardwalk Resort and Disney's Paradise Pier resort are both in close proximity to the second gate parks on both coasts. Disney's Boardwalk is a thoroughly Imagineered resort from top to bottom. It has theming details that will blow your mind. So many that we had to carry them over to our "after hours" show we release on our facebook page . Disney's Paradise Pier (soon to be Pixar) resort is a lightly overlayed hotel built by a Japanese conglomerate in the 80s. Both hotels have access to the second gate of each property. It's that time of year again! Because we can't say March Madness because we will get sued...wait....' Anyway, it is the time of year where we create the brackets and decide the best thing in all the 4 parks or some variation of that theme. This year, what is the best single rider line in the domestic parks? The intent of this episode was to break down all the single rider lines and get to a top 16 so we could debate for the final episode in March with a special guest host from DL Weekly Podcast, Tage. However, upon further investigation, Disney did it for us because while there are officially 9 at Disneyland, there are only 4 at Walt Disney word. So, while we also discuss other items I.e. price of the parks, general hot takes etc, we land on the elite 8 and determine the brackets for this year's challenge. I swear we are not becoming haters on the parks, Jimmy just posed the "is it too expensive" question and like the rest of the arguments of this show, it just depends. The Blue Bayou is a fine dining restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland. The first of its kind in any Disney park. It sets an atmosphere of dining alfresco in the evening while boats pass through the bayou on their way to seek adventure. San Angel Inn is exactly the same thing but with Mexican food and a decidedly worse attraction. Will San Angel Inn win out because if you get the wrong table in Blue Bayou where you are meant to be dining outside you could see right outside to see sunny southern California? While we were there, we once again experienced Soarin' Over California while it lasted during the California themed food and wine festival and that inspired us to do this episode!
