Dr. Kimani Borland is a Naturopathic Doctor, qualified Vinyasa, and Kemetic Yoga teacher, and mother to two sons. She was born and raised in a Rasta family in Jamaica, graduated from Stanford University, and currently runs a practice in Jamaica, where she specializes in an Integrative approach to wellbeing, using herbs, nutrition, lifestyle & perspective shifts. 

I loved speaking and learning more from Dr. Kimani in this conversation. We have a lot in common and although it was our first time connecting, I felt like I'd found a long lost friend. She’s humble and honest and speaks candidly about the initiation of becoming a mum for the first time at 21 and her experiences of having two very different cesarean births.

She reflects on the philosophies and foundations that set her in good stead along her path and the struggles as well as triumphs along the way. We talk about the reality for many women living in Jamaica and the Caribbean and what personally motivates her to keep going. I know her insights and assuring wisdom in this conversation will uplift you.

Part 2 of my conversation with Mimi Young, a witch, a shamanic intuitive, spirit communicator, and founder of Ceremonie, an esoteric brand focusing on education, Shamanic Readings, and plant medicines for skin and aura. Mimi's purpose is to help people connect with their spirits. She does this by integrating core shamanism, plant spirit healing, dream symbol interpretation, and Chinese esoterics in a deeply healing way.

Though possessing psychic gifts her whole life, Mimi stepped into this work when she had a profound shamanic experience while on bedrest for 5 months during her pregnancy with her second child. She sees her experience as a way to bridge modern living with ancestral living, to be in full relationship with the seen and unseen worlds, and to break the stale moulds of existing structures that no longer serve us.

She has helped hundreds of women of colour on their spiritual journey of decolonization. Her values lie in anti-oppressive, decolonial, liberation work and in collective healing.

Dr Rosales Meza has such a gentle delivery but her words are strong and powerful. She speaks about how motherhood began her healing and liberation and talks about the ways we can truly begin to consciously decolonize our own minds and lives.
