Your Place Or Mine is a 2023 romantic comedy directed by Aline Brosh McKenna…

This is the story of Debbie and Peter played by Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher. Debbie is a single mom to her son Jack. They live in LA, she’s an accountant at a middle school, very tightly wound, very much your typical helicopter over bearing parent to Jack. Then we have Peter who is a successful business consultant in New York City, lives the bachelor life, never REALLY committing to anyone or anything.

Debbie and Peter have history, they hooked up this one time BUT ever since have just been best of friends, even when they both live across the country from each other. Our story takes a turn when Debbie is SUPPOSED to travel to New York City to hang with Peter and complete her schooling, her baby sitter falls through. To make sure she can finish the education she needs, PETER swaps places, flies back to LA to babysit Jack. 

Along the way while they are apart we learn a little about a rekindled love on both sides.

It’s a 2019 Netflix Romantic Comedy directed by Roger Kumble. Falling INN Love is the story of Gabriela Diaz played by Christina Milian, she works at a San Francisco design firm. She has ambitions of working in renewable and green energy initiative’s however when the business folds she finds herself drinkenly applying to ‘win an inn’ in New Zealand. Miraculously she does win that inn, travels all the way to the New Zealand countryside to find her new inn, in a total state of disrepair. Gabreilla vows to restore the inn with a green energy flare, employs the help of the townfolk and maybe finds LOVE in the form of Jake Taylor played by Adam Demos along the way.

It’s the story of Natalie Bauer played by Nina Dobrev. Natalie is a LA writer who runs a dating column in which she shares her disastrous dating app stories. Enchanted is a 2007 musical fantasy romantic comedy Directed by Kevin Lima, the PERFECT person to direct this, as he is responsible for a lot of Disney’s animated hits… The Goofy Movie, 101 Dalmatians, Tarzan, he was a writer for Aladdin, a character designer on the Little Mermaid, Visual Director on Beauty and the Beast; this guy knows Disney Fairytales.

Enchanted begins as an animated story, we meet Giselle, your classic Disney Princess. Giselle lives in the woods with all of her favourite adorable woodland creatures, she is played by Amy Adams.

Then we meet Edward, THE PRINCE, played by James Marsden. Edward is seen capturing a troll when he HEARS the beautiful singing of Giselle, he tromps through the forest and finds her, they complete each others songs and immediately fall in love, to be wed the very next day.

Edwards mother in law doesn’t want Edward to marry because she will no longer be queen. This is Queen Narissa played by Susan Sarandon, so SHE hatches a plan to teleport Giselle to a place where love doesn’t exist. Giselle goes from being animated in a Disney fairytale to being a real life, live action human in New York City.

Eventually she will also meet Robert Philip played by Patrick Dempsey and Morgan Philip his daughter and Nancy Tremaine played by Idina Menzel.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is a 2018 Teen Romantic Comedy directed by Susan Johnson and based on the novel by Jenny Han.

To All The Boys is the story of Lara Jean Covey - LJ, played by Lana Condor. Lara Jean writes 5 letters dedicated to all the boys she’s ever loved. The letters were never sent, just a way for her to express her emotions… until… somehow… the letters get mailed. Of the 5 letters sent, 3 of them are pretty notable, including one sent to Lara’s older sisters ex boyfriend Josh played by Israel Broussard. There is also a letter sent to Kenny, played by Edward Kewin. And finally a letter is sent to Peter Kavinsky played by Noah Centineo.

Jersey Girl is the story of Ollie Trinke, played by Ben Affleck. Ollie is a high profile New York City Media Publicist. When we meet Ollie his wife Gertrude, played by Jennifer Lopez, is pregnant with their first child. Calamity strikes, when Gertrude has an aneurysm in childbirth, leaving hot shot media publicist Ollie to pick up the pieces and begin raising this new born daughter.

All does not go to plan. We also have George Carlin playing Ollie’s father Bart. AND a future love interest Liv Tyler playing the part of Maya Harding.

Zoey is a computer major junior at Queen’s College… she is extremely intelligent in the field of programming and is trying to launch her dating app that specializes on matching people based on algorithms and shared interests and compatibility. Zoey however ends up in a classic, mistaken identity, amnesia love triangle with star soccer stud Zach McLaren played by Drew Starkey. Zach believes that he is dating this Zoey… because of a strange accident, instead there is another Zoey out there on vacation who he is actually dating… hence, the other Zoey. Catch and Release is a 2006 romantic comedy, written and directed by Susannah Grant. 

This is the story of Gray Wheeler played by Jennifer Garner. When we meet Gray, it is the day of her wedding, except Gray is NOT getting married to her fiancee Grady on this day. Today is now the day of HIS funeral. We don’t know what happened except that shortly before the wedding, Grady suddenly passed away and we are left with Gray trying to pick up the pieces. She is comforted by Grady’s friend Sam played by Kevin Smith. His friend and business partner Dennis played by Sam Jaeger. And Fritz, Grady’s old friend who now lives in California… Fritz is played by Timothy Olyphant. 

As we learn more of Grady and his sudden passing Gray begins to unravel a mystery around his life. Stories of large investment accounts, people being paid out money, all the while Fritz being a little TOO involved and not IMMEDIATELY returning to California… for some reason… we have yet to find out…

Mean Girls is a 2004 Teen Romantic Comedy directed by Mark Waters, Mark Waters also directed Just Like Heaven, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Freaky Friday. This movie is also written by Tina Fey and produced by Lorne Michaels. Mean Girls is the story of Cady Heron played by Lindsay Lohan. Cady was homeschooled and lived in Africa for 12 years and she is finally going to highschool for the first time… she has no idea what she is in for. Cady quickly meets the school rejects Janis Ian played by Lizzy Caplan and Damian played by Daniel Franzese. She also meets the ‘plastics’ or the MEAN GIRLS, Regina George, Karen Smith and Gretchen Wieners, played by Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert respectively. 

Really this movie is just the story of Cady navigating through having no experience with North American highschool and being THRUST into a friendship with Regina George… and all the comedy that comes with that.

Also, Jonathan Bennett plays our love interest Aaron Samuels.

A Cinderella Story is a 2004 Teen Rom Com 

It’s the story of Samantha Montgomery played by Hillary Duff. Sam is a high-school senior in LA and 8 years prior… her father Hal Montgomery unfortunately passed away… this left Sam in the care of her step mother, Fiona, played by Jennifer Coolidge.

Fiona changed Hal’s diner irreparably, she forces Sam to wait on her hand and foot and she consistently favors HER daughters Brianna and Gabriella over Sam. Forcing Sam to work long hours at the diner. 

However everything changes as Sam has been secretly messaging with a PEN PAL at HER HIGHSCHOOL, she has no idea who this man is, but they have grown to have a mutual admiration for each other… she has no idea, it’s actually All-American high-school quarterback and heart-throb Austin Ames, played by Chad Michael Murray.

The Accidental Husband is a 2008 Romantic Comedy directed by Griffin Dunne.

This is the story of Patrick Sullivan played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Patrick is a firefighter in New York City and is extremely excited to get married, and start his life with his fiance Sofia, played by Justina Machado. However after Sofia calls into love expert radio show hosted by Doctor Emma Lloyd played by Uma Thurman, Patrick’s life spins out of control as Sofia calls off the wedding.

In a wild act of revenge Patrick gets his young neighbour to hack into the government database to make it appear that Emma is actually already married, to Patrick. This immediately creates and issue for Emma as SHE is set to marry her manager and business partner Richard played by Colin Firth. Emma then sets out to find this Patrick Sullivan and get the marriage annulled, however not all goes to plan.

You People is a brand new Netflix Romantic Comedy directed by Kenya Barris.

You People is the story of Ezra Cohen played by Jonah Hill. Ezra comes from a Jewish family, his mom Shelley played Julia Louise Dreyfus and dad Arnold played by David Duchovny very much try to set Ezra up with “a nice smart Jewish girl”. Ezra eventually meets Amira played by Lauren London, and THEY hit it off right away. The only problem. Amira comes from a very strong and proud black family, her dad Woody changed his name to Akbar, he is played by Eddie Murphy, her mom is Fatima played by Nia Long.

You People is really the story of love, in the middle of a culture clash between these two families.

The Idea of You is a 2024 Romantic Comedy directed by Micharl Showalter based on the novel Robinne Lee. This is the story of Solene, played by Anne Hathaway, a divorced art gallery owner living in Los Angeles. Solene ends up going to Coachella with her daughter and her daughters friends where they have a meet and greet with pop boy band August Moon. There, Solene meets Hayes Campbell played by Nicholas Galitzine, Hayes is a member of August Moon. Hayes and Solene end up hitting it off however, they are challenged by the fact that Hayes is much younger, in an internationally successful boy band, Solene has an ex husband, and a teenage daughter, it causes some conflict.

The Other Woman is a 2014 Rom Com directed by Nick Cassavetes

This is the story of Carly Whitten played by Cameron Diaz. She is a New York City Attorney and JUST started dating Mark King, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones). 

Here’s the thing about our boy Mark, we learn quickly that Carly is NOT the only person he is dating… naw… he actually already has a WIFE, Kate played by Leslie Mann, and perhaps many OTHER mistresses like Amber played by Kate Upton.

So Carly and Kate learn about each other and ultimately decide that Mark deserves payback. It’s essentially the grown up version of John Tucker Must Die. That’s your lead in for The Other Woman. A heads up, this movie got a LITTLE bit of flack critically however it KILLED it at the box office, 196.7 million dollars on a 40 million  budget.

XO Kitty is a brand new Netflix Romantic Comedy Series… it’s a spinoff of the To All The Boys Series written by Jenny Han.

The original film Trilogy was the story of Lara Jean… this is the story of her younger sister Kitty Song Covey played by Anna Cathcart.

Kitty is dating this guy she met in South Korea named Dae… Kitty applies to go to the same school as Dae in South Korea. Kitty gets IN but not all goes to plan specifically with a classic love triangle SLASH new romance with one of Dae’s class mates Yuri.

So Amy STOPS trying so hard, she KICKS her husband out of the house, and she commits to focusing more on her mental health, instead of trying to be everything for everyone. And Amy takes on this journey with the help of her friends Carla played by Kathryn Hahn, and Kiki played by Kristen Bell.

Here's how it works:

Sarah and I are each going to draft 5 upcoming romantic comedies that SHOULD be released in 2023, we will have these romantic comedies on our 'Rom Com Fantasy Team'. The Vow is a 2012 Romantic Drama. It’s the story of Paige Collins played by Rachel McAdams and her husband Leo played by Channing Tatum. Paige and Leo are married and spoiler alert, shortly after we meet them, there is a car crash, by which Paige loses her memory… she loses her memory of who Leo is, their marriage, their life together, their apartment, it’s all gone. The Vow is the story of Paige and Leo picking up the pieces of the life that she lost complete memory of, and BASICALLY it’s the story of them re-learning how to love each other.

Employee of the Month is a 2006 Rom Com directed by Greg Coolidge. It’s the story of Zack Bradley played by Dane Cook. Zack works at a ‘Super Club’ which is basically just a Costco, he is your classic, bottom of the barrel slacker, he’s a box boy, spends most of his work days finding ways not to work and even has a hideout in the store with his 3 friends Iqbal, Dirk and Russell. 

This tradition of overall apathy towards work changes when a new cashier Amy joins the team, played by Jessica Simpson. Here’s the catch, in her employee file, it says that Amy only ever goes for the Employee of the Month, and at this Super Club, for the past 17 months that has been Vince’s crown, played by Dax Shepard. Vince is your quintessential, easily dislikable d-bag, over confident, kinda weird bad guy of the movie.

And that’s kind of the story, Zack choosing to actually APPLY himself at work to win employee of the month and Amy’s heart, Vince being the ultimate antagonist to stop that from happening.

The Princess Bride is a 1987 fantasy adventure romance comedy… directed and co-produced by Rob Reiner who was also responsible for Spinal Tap… much like Spinal Tap The Princess Bride has made it’s way into cult classic territory.

It’s setup as a grandfather reading a tale to his sick grandson. Peter Falk played the grandfather, Fred Savage the grandson. The tale is that of Princess Buttercup played by Robin Wright, who falls in love with her farm hand Westley played by Cary Elwes. Westley goes off into the world to seek his fortune before returning to Buttercup however she learns of Westley’s death soon after. Years later Buttercup is set to be wed to Florin’s Prince Humperdinck played by Chris Sarandon… before being captured by the likes of Vizini, Fezzik and Inigo Montoya, all played by Wallace Shawn, Andre the Giant and Mandy Patinkin.

Bride Wars is a 2009 Romantic Comedy directed by Gary Winick. This is the story of childhood best friends Liv played by Kate Hudson and Emma played by Anne Hathaway. Liv and Emma have always ever dreamed of one thing, getting married at New York’s famous Plaza Hotel in June. However when both of these ladies get engaged around the same time and the Plaza only has bookings for the same day in June, these friends quickly turn to enemies as debauchery ensues.

The Switch is a 2010 romantic comedy by Will Speck and Josh Gordon based on the short The Baster.

The Switch is the story of Kassie Larson played by Jennifer Anniston. She is the eternal optimist, her life is going PRETTY well, BUT, there is one thing missing, motherhood, she wants SO BADLY to have a baby, however Mr. Right has yet to come along.

We also have Wally Mars played by Jason Bateman. He is Kassie’s best friends, heads up, they also dated about 6 years ago. Wally is fairly pessimistic, kinda neurotic, he has some hard edges as they describe later in the movie.

Kassie decides, to speed her life in the direction she wants it to go she needs a sperm donor. However she wants to be able to meet this sperm donor man face to face and she doesn’t want to go through a sperm bank due to the heavy cost. All the while Wally is trying to convince her otherwise, that this is a bad idea, don’t go down this road, and MAYBE it’s forcing him to confront his OWN confused feelings around Kassie?

Somethings Gotta Give is a 2003 Romantic Comedy Drama, Produced and Directed by Nancy Meyers. Meyers has been responsible for The Parent Trap, The Holiday. It’s Complicated, What Women Want, Father of the Bride, she is Romantic Comedy Royalty.

Something’s Gotta Give is the story of Harry Sanborn played by Jack Nicholson and Erica Barry played by Diane Keaton. When we meet Harry Sanborn he is actually dating Erica Barry’s daughter Marin played by Amanda Peet. Amanda is 35 ish years younger than Harry. We learn very quickly, Harry is one of those perpetual bachelors who exclusively dates women much younger than him. When Marin and Harry go to her mother’s beach house they run into Erica Barry along with Marin’s sister Zoe played by Frances McDormand. Through this awkward meeting and a serious of unfortunate events for Harry it ends up that he must stay at that beach house with Erica until his health returns… much to both of their chagrins… but of course, love is likely to blossom in this very unlikely pairing.

Barbie is a 2023 Fantasy Comedy directed by Greta Gerwig who has a fantastic acting career and has also directed Little Women and Lady Bird. 

Barbie is the story of Barbie, played by Margot Robbie. She’s living in Barbie land (Margot is ‘Stereotypical Barbie’) with all the other Barbies and of course the Ken’s. Mainly played by Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu. Oh, and Allan played by Michael Cera. But something goes wrong with Barbie, somethings not quite right, and after gaining some sage wisdom from another Barbie played by Kate Mackinnon, Barbie realizes she must travel into the real world to find the person playing with her. We also have America Ferrera and Will Ferrell in this film.

This is the story of Ally played by Alison Brie. She is the show runner of a once successful reality series called Dessert Island… Upon learning that her show is being cancelled Ally returns to her small town of Leavenworth Washington to take a break and visit her mom.

Upon returning Ally meets up with her ex-boyfriend Sean played by Jay Ellis and sparks seem to reignite between them? But as always, not all will go according to plan. This film also stars Kiesey Clemons as Cassidy, Danny Pudi as Benny and Haley Joel Osment as Jeremy.

It Takes Two is a 1995 romantic comedy… this film is inspired by the 1881 Mark Twain novel the Prince and the Pauper as well as the 1949 book Lisa and Lottie.

It Takes Two is the story of Amanda and Alyssa, played by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Amanda is a New York City orphan hoping to find a family of her own one day. She is cared for at her orphanage by the sweetest social worker Diane, played by Kirstie Alley. Then we have Alyssa Callaway, her father Roger - played by Steve Guttenberg is a billionaire. Alyssa and Roger are very close however since his wife (her mother) passed away Roger has now, 10 years later started to date again and we meet CLARICE KENSINGTON. We immediately get bad vibes from her, but after Amanda and Alyssa run into each other new the Callaways summer camp, the two girls hatch a plan to switch places and ULTIMATELY get Roger and Diane together.

Splash is the story of Allen Bauer played by Tom Hanks who we first meet as an eighty year old on a boat tour at Cape Cod. He has a boat accident, falls off but encounters a young girl under the water who allows him to breathe underwater.

Years later Allen is a co-owner of a wholesale fruit and vegetable business in New York City. He owns this company with his brother Freddie played by John Candy. After Allen’s failed relationship he ends up traveling back to Cape Cod, falls off a boat and once again is rescued by a mysterious woman, played by Daryl Hannah.

Keeping Up With the Joneses is the story of Jeff and Karen Gaffney played by Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher. Love At First Sight is a 2023 Netflix Romantic Comedy film directed by Vanessa Caswill based on the 2011 novel The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. This is the story of Hadley Sullivan played by Haley Lu Richardson. Hadley never has a charged phone  and is chronically late, evidenced by the fact that when we meet her, she is in the process of missing her flight to London to attend her father’s wedding. This is also the story of Oliver Jones played by Ben Hardy, Oliver is a British Yale student who is obsessed with statistics, hates surprises and typically keeps a very charged phone… this is how our love interests meet, at an airport, exchanging phone charges on the way to London.

Jes comes from a British Indian, Punjabi, Sikh family living in London. Jess is OBSESSED with football but her parents Mohaan and Suhki very much want her to focus on other priorities. But, Jess meets Juliette played by Keira Knightly who is on a female football team in London, their coach Joe played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers brings Jess onto the team and it turns out, she has enough talent to possibly play in a pro league in the United States. Bend it Like Beckham is Jess’ story, breaking the mold, disobeying her family, PROVING to everyone that just because she is a woman she CAN still play Football and ultimately, maybe finding love along the way.

Bill is a dissatisfied middle aged man who works for his father in law, Mr Jacoby’s - bank. No one takes him seriously, he’s the black sheep of the family, he is the VP of human resources, he’s really pushed off to the side in many different ways. 

We quickly find out that Bill’s wife Jess played by Elizabeth Banks is likely cheating on him with local news reported Chip Johnson played by Timothy Olyphant. Meanwhile Bill is taking this mentorship kid under his wing, the kid is played by Logan Lerman. There’s also a romance with that kid and a mall retail worker Lucy played by Jessica Alba.

Meet the Fockers is a 2004 romantic comedy directed by Jay Roach, Jay also directed the original Meet the Parents, as well as Dinner for Schmucks, The Austin Powers series. Meet the Fockers is the sequel to Meet the Parents, we have Greg or ‘Gaylord’ Focker played by Ben Stiller. Greg is engaged to Pam Byrnes played by Teri Polo, the contents of the first film was Greg meeting Pam’s parents Jack Byrnes played by Robert De Niro and Dina played by Blythe Danner. The short of that story is that Jack is a retired CIA agent and did everything he could do disrupt, undermine and ultimately break up Greg and Pam before finally agreeing that Greg was indeed a good guy and a good match. In Meet the Fockers, this story in some ways repeats with Jack and Dina meeting Greg’s parents Bernie and Roz played by Dustin Hoffman and Barabara Streisand.

The Lake House is a 2006 fantasy romance directed by Alejandro Agresti. It’s based off a South Korean film. The Lake House is the story of Kate Forster played by Sandra Bullock. Kate is a physician living in Chicago and she starts a new job at a downtown hospital. She moved from a really unique lake house outside the city and she leaves a note for the next tenant to let them know a few quirks of the house. On Valentine’s Day the new tenant of the house Alex, played by Keanu Reeves arrives, discovers the letter and also discovers some discrepancies with the note. As Alex writes back to Kate we realize that they are communicating through time. Alex is living in 2004, 2 years to the date before Kate, and through the mailbox at the lake house they can actually communicate… and perhaps… fall in love?

This is the story of Andy played by Anne Hathaway. She is a freshly graduated journalist who stumbles upon a junior personal assistant job under Miranda Priestly played by Meryl Streep. Miranda Priestly is the Editor in Chief of Runway Magazine and that gig Andy stumbled upon is "a job that millions of girls would kill for…"

This is the story of Ronald Miller - Ronnie, played by Patrick Dempsey. Ronald is your classic 80’s high school nerd living in suburban Arizona, he is known as the dorky kid who mows lawns… that’s his shtick. 

Our boy Ronnie yearns to be with the popular crowd, specifically he likes his next door neighbour Cindy Mancini, high school cheer captain and all around popular high school socialite, played by Amanda Peterson… 

After Cindy spills wine on her moms expensive suede outfit. Ronnie seizes his opportunity, he convinces Cindy, if I buy you a replacement for that outfit, you need to go out with me for a month… thus the popular kids at school will accept me as their own and I will reach my goal… of finally being… COOL…

The Princess Diaries is a 2001 coming of age Romantic Comedy directed by Garry Marshall. This is the story of Mia Thermopolis played by Anne Hathaway. Mia is a highschool student in San Francisco, definitely not super cool she only has two friends Lilly played by Heather Matarazzo and her older brother Michael played by Robert Schwartzman. There is something Mia does not know however and we learn very quickly, technically she is the princess of the country of Genovia. This film also features Mandy Moore as the classic highschool villain Lana. Mia has a grandmother the Queen Regent of Genovia played by the great Julie Andrews. And a point of fact regarding how big of a smash hit this film was. This grossed 165 million dollars at the box office on a budget of around 26.

Maybe I Do is a new 2023 Romantic Comedy on Netflix written and Directed by Michael Jacobs based on his own play Cheaters. This is the story of Michelle and Allen played by Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey. Well it’s not exactly the story of them… it’s the story of how they pulled a group of cheaters together. We also meet Howard and Monica played by Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon, they are in a hotel room together, Monica is throwing herself at Howard, he wants none of it, because we learn that both of them are already married… they are cheating. 

Then we meet Grace played by Diane Keaton and Sam played by William H Macy. After watching a very sad movie together they also go off on a magical night and spend some time in a motel together… Grace and Sam are also already married to other people… they’re already married to those other two people who are cheating… and they are ALL the parents of Michelle and Allen… except nobody knows it.

Love, Simon is a 2018 Romantic Comedy Drama directed by Greg Berlanti and based on the novel Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli.

Love Simon is the story of Simon Spier played by Nick Robinson, who is a highschooler living in a suburb of Atlanta Georgia. Simon is gay but he is not ‘out’ yet. Love, Simon takes us on the journey of Simon as he is challenged with being true to himself, and who he is while dealing with a society that does not accept the type of person he is. Simon’s parents are Jack and Emily Spier played by Josh Duhamel and Jennifer Garner. We also have his cast of friends, Leah, Abby and Nick payed by Katherine Langford, Alexandra Shipp and Jorge Lendeborg JR.

John Tucker Must Die is a 2006 teen romantic comedy directed by Betty Thomas. 

This is the story of teenager Kate Spencer played by Brittany Snow. Kate and her mom Lori played by Jenny McCarthy live just outside of Portland, Oregon. They are kinda nomads, they move constantly, Lori can’t hold down a relationship with a guy, Kate has moved from school to school… but NOW she goes to a school with John Tucker played by Jesse Metcalfe.

John is your classic, all-american athlete, basketball stud, girl’s love him, guys wanna be like him, however Kate stumbles upon a serious problem. She comes to the realization that John Tucker is dating 3 prominent girls at school, all at the same time. Beth McIntyre played by Sophie Bush is your vegan activist, Carrie Schaeffer is played by Arielle Kebbel she’s your overachieving journalist, and Heather Montgomery played by Ashanti, head cheerleader.

In one cataclysmic moment all 3 of these girls find out they’re all dating John Tucker and decide to take Kate’s help in bringing him down and bringing John Tucker justice…

You Again is a 2010 romantic comedy directed by Andy Fickman. This is the story of Marni Olsen played by Kristen Bell. Marni was tormented and bullied in highschool however at the time of our film is now a successful public relations executive in Los Angeles and was just promoted to a management job in New York. However, Marni returns back to her small town of Ridgefield to celebrate her brother, Will, played by James Wolk, wedding. As it turns out, Will is marrying Marni’s highschool bull Joanna or JJ played by Odette Yustman. The awkwardness is amped up when JJ’s aunt Ramona visits, played by Sigourney Weaver and SHE also has bad history with Marni’s mom Gail played by Jamie Lee Curtis… two generations of women… hating each other.

This week we finally re-watch 500 Days of Summer, Directed by Mark Webb.

500 Days of Summer is the story of Tom Hansen played by Joseph Gordon Levitt and Summer Finn played by Zoey Deschanel.

The peculiar way in which this story is told makes it hard to give a lead in without totally spoiling the film.

This story spans 500 days… 500 days in which Tom Hansen is in love with Summer Finn, but the story is not told in sequential order, we jump in and out of these 500 days, slowly piecing together this story like a jig-saw puzzle. At times we peek in on a horrible argument, other times we jump backward in time to a beautiful date night at the movies. Slowly as we the audience step back… and back again… we get a full picture of the love, the loss, the rebirth of these two individuals Tom Hansen and Summer Finn, as we ultimately learn the story… of 500 Days of Summer…
