13 Nov 2022 | S1 EP16 with PawtyPals (AU) | 00:50:01
In this week's episode we're talking to Jess about her pawty business PawtyPals It was wonderful to talk to Jess about PawtyPals and how her Pawty Packs take the stress out of organising a Barkday or a Gotcha Day pawty, not to mention Pugmas or New Years. Not only can you purchase a DIY pawty pack but you can also get Jess to create a custom design that speaks to your Puggies pawsonality, that provides you with wonderful memories of the day without the mess and cleanup... sounds pawfect to me! My favourite pawty game is the Portrait kit where your Puggie can paint their very own masterpiece and you can take it home with you afterwards ... and then there are the tasting tables, OH MY PUG, can you imagine a table full of tasty treaties, all for the gobbling up by your Barkday girl or boy and their grumble friends. In this episode Jess will share: 02:41 - How Jess came up with the idea of PawtyPals 05:12 - Marley’s bestfriend and why he doesn’t like huskies 06:24 - Marley’s Barkday party after being in lockdown for almost a year 10:13 - The most popular pawty that pawrents come to Pawtypals for 16:51 - Pawty Packs offered by PawtyPals 20:27 - The Puggie Painting activity 26:44 - Things pug pawrents can do to make Christmas & New Years special without ending up in a vet 38:53 - What took Jess by surprise when she first started PawtyPals 41:05 - The Pawty Pack that pawrents love the most 44:53 - Where to find PawtyPals Check their socials and the website they talked about in the Show here: - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pawtypalsau/ - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pawtypals_au/?hl=en - Website: https://pawtypals.square.site/ If you'd like to watch the LIVE STREAM REPLAY of this episode, you can find it on our Blog https://pugparties.com/blogs/livin-the-pug-life-show/livin-the-pug-life-show-ep-29-meet-pawty-pals-au If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at podcasher.com If you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. 27 Oct 2024 | S3 EP08: Essential Oils for Pugs | 00:40:25
Our episode today is one that I have wanted to do for some time now because I know so little about essential oils, but I love having them in my life. I love burning scented candles in my office and my home, I love a relaxing bath with some relaxing salts and an occasional visit from Rosie and Kenji checking up on me to make sure I haven’t forgotten them or dinner time, and I love running my diffuser when I don’t have a candle. The challenge is that I know enough about essential oils to know that some are not good for our furry fur-ends, but not enough to know what is good, what is bad and what combination is best for me and the Puggies … so you can see why I asked Libby to join me on the Show to dispel the myth, provide the fact and even give me a little advice about that little thing called anxiety which we all know Kenji suffers from. In this episode I’ll cover:
Libby has provided us with a special link that you can use to purchase oils for your Pug at a reduced price and get access to ongoing support and education, YEAH! So check it out https://doterra.me/0Z-qLs and let us know how you go. Want to know more about Essential Oils, then you can find Libby here:

25 Sep 2022 | S1 EP09: I lost my Pug at Playgroup | 00:09:25
In this weeks episode I am talking to you about losing Charles at play group, not something I do often .. or should I say ever! It’s not unusual for me to see Charles in the arms of one of his Aunties getting spoilt with cuddles and kisses when he is not glued to my ankles, but not seeing him anywhere within about 60 seconds flicked the “SOMEONE’S TAKEN MY PUG!” switch and we were on a Pug-hunt like never seen in the park before, and had me asking myself why he ended up where we found him. 01:52 - What is Rosie and Charles’ weekly trip to playgroup like 02:36 - When Charles vanished without a trace in playgroup and caused a pug-search 06:36 - Charles was finally located 07:34 - Why Charles probably went off on his own If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at https://www.podchaser.com/ThePugLifeShow And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. NEXT WEEKS EPISODE: In next weeks episode we're talking to Tim and Kat about their Pug Buddy plus we'll also be talking grooming and their business, Bubbles n Cuddles Mobile Dog wash. This Show is packed with pawsome grooming information and wonderful stories about Buddy including his many nicknames which are funny and totally relatable ... I won't give them all away but one of favourites is 'Crumb Bum' and I am sure you can figure out how he managed to earn that one!
08 Sep 2024 | S3 EP05: Shedding Light on Canine Mental Health | 01:05:58
It’s not often that I gush about a book of any kind, so when I do come across a book that I not only enjoy reading but I also get a lot out of when it comes to understanding my Puggies I gush to everyone, and then I ask for the author to come onto the Pug Life Show so we can talk about it in detail. Dr Dennis Wormald’s book ‘A Dedication to Difficult Dogs; A heartwarming tale shedding light on Canine Mental Health’ is a must read for every Pug-Pawrent out there. It doesn’t matter if your Pug has anxiety or not, this book helped me understand what might be going on in Rosie and Kenji’s heads (not to mention the rescue Puggies I care for) on a daily basis and thanks to that, I feel like I’m a better Pug-mom for it. In this episode I’ll cover:

06 Nov 2022 | S1 EP15: When a one-Puggie home is not enough | 00:11:31
In this weeks episode I am talking to you about introducing another Puggie to your fur-family after the loss of another Puggie; there are definitely some things to consider, including if you are ready or if your surviving Puggie is ready. In this episode I will talk about: 00:47 - The loss of our third pug, Charles 03:18 - Introducing a new puggie companion for Rosie 06:10 - How Rosie came to our lives and Charles’ reaction 09:28 - To take or to not take Kenji full-time If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at podcasher.com If you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. For me, being a Pug-mom or a Crazy Pug-Lady is great fun but I have had times where I have doubted it, in this episode I'll share with you what happened and what got me back to being the best Pug-mom I could be.

In this week's episode we're talking to Fiona about her dog training business The Doggy Lady Our lovely guest Fiona runs a dog training school in WA that specialises in teaching any breed of dog scent work - yep even Pugs can learn to do it, just like little Emily who is a champion at it from what Fiona told us. The best part about this Show is the 'at home' sniffer training you can give your Puggie, no School required - Fiona told us how we can introduce a little bit of scent work into your everyday life with your Puggie and I have to admit, I tried it at playgroup and the Puggies loved it! Not to mention should you use a breeder or adopt a rescue. All options have pros and cons and we'll look at them all so you can decide if your pawfect Puggie is a rescue or a pup from a Breeder.

16 Apr 2023 | S2 EP04: Barkday Pawtying like only a Pug can | 00:15:46
In this Episode I'm talking about Barkday Pawties, the Puggie version of Birthday Parties. I LOVE throwing my Puggies a Barkday Pawty to celebrate them, make them feel special and have a great day with their Grumble … yes there is a lot of treaties, a lot of snot and a lot of over-excited Puggies of all ages and we’re all Puggered by the end but what a great way to spend a day with my Puggies and Pug Pawrent friends! I’ll share with you the many different types of Barkday Pawties I have thrown for my Puggies over the last 20 years and hopefully something will inspire your next Barkday celebration. In this episode I’ll cover: • 01:18 – Barkday Season • 03:07 – Louis’s Barkday Pawty’s at home • 04:10 – Winston and Charles’s Dog Barkery shopping • 07:35 – Pawty Planning for Charles 13th and Rosie’s 9th Barkday Pawties • 10:09 – Kenji and his beloved Miss Drew’s Barkery and Café Pawty • 12:27 – Inspiration for your next Barkday Pawty If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review on your PODCAST streaming service. 25 Aug 2024 | S3 EP04: The Kindest Goodbye | 00:45:44
This conversation was one that I wished I had had 18-months ago when Charles passed – to be able to have Charles at home with us as we said goodbye to him wouldn’t have made the decision any easier, but it would have made the process so much more private. I’m not saying that the process at a Vet isn’t compassionate or thoughtful, but not having to walk out into a waiting room full of heathy dogs with my cheeks still wet from crying to pay the final bill is a much better way to start the grieving process. I know that when the time comes, I will be giving Rosie and Kenji the opportunity to say goodbye from the comfort of our home, and I think you will be considering it too once you listen to what Dr Tom Milton from ‘The Kindest Goodbye’ shares in the episode. In this episode I’ll cover:

07 Aug 2022 | S1 EP01: Why I became a Pug-mom and the Pugs that inspired me | 00:16:07
In this week's episode I'm talking about Why I became a Pug-mom and the Pugs that inspire me. Now I don't know about you Puggies but I love talking Pug, meeting Pugs and getting to know Pug-Pawrents. I mean who else can will understand my utter devotion to my Pugs better than other "Crazy Pug Ladies or Pawrents". Interestingly it wasn't until I saw “The Adventures of Milo and Otis” that I knew that I was going to be a Pug-mom …. or Puggie-slave depending on how you look at it. I'm going to share how I meet each one of my Pugs and how we love to get dressed up and go out for coffee and cuddles:

23 Oct 2022 | S1 EP13: Pug Pawrenting; the emotional roller coaster that is Pug ownership | 00:13:25
In this weeks episode I am talking to you about the emotional roller coater ride that is Pug ownership, the stuff that the books don’t really tell you about but that you should think about before you buy or adopt a Puggie, especially if they’re your first. 00:46 - The good, the bad, and not-so-pretty aspects of living the pug life 02:09 - My experiences in my almost 20 years of living the pug life 03:44 - The funny story of ‘the war of the poop spot’ 06:28 - ‘Enduring patience’ is your middle name 10:25 - Living in fear of tripping over your pugs every day 11:51- Pugs are worth it no matter what other people say If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at https://www.podchaser.com/ThePugLifeShow And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. NEXT WEEKS EPISODE: In next weeks episode we're talking to Joanna about her Pug Bronson. We always love hearing the stories behind our Guests names, and Joanna didn't disappoint. Now you could be excused from assuming that Bronson got his name from the devlishly handsome actor "Charles Bronson", because Bronson is a handsome devil himself, but that’s not actually the case. How Jo came to deciding on Bronson's name is a little outside of the norm even for a Pug Pawrent. We're also very happy to know that Bronson is still with us after a trip to the beach that almost ended in disaster - I am amazed that Jo was able to drive and cry and talk to her sister who was holding Bronson all at the same time knowing that Bronson could be dying. I still get chills down my spine thinking about what happened and is definitely a tail worth hearing if for no other reason to know what you need to do should this ever happen to your Puggie. The good news is that Bronson is OK and as lively as ever!
11 Sep 2022 | S1 EP07: Should I adopt or buy a Puggie? | 00:20:40
In this weeks episode I am talking to you about buying from a breeder or adopting a rescue. I've always felt that the Universe gave me Louis just when I was ready to be a Pug-mom for the first time, but finding your pawfect Puggie isn't always that easy or simple. Not to mention having to decide if should you use a breeder or adopt a rescue. All options have pros and cons and we'll look at them all so you can decide if your pawfect Puggie is a rescue or a pup from a Breeder. 01:13 - Options for first-time pug pawrents 01:55 - Adopting through a rescue 04:16 - Adopting my current puggie Charles & his brother Winston 05:17 - Adopting my first pug Louis 06:41 - The pros and cons of adopting a rescue puggie 09:24 - Extra things to know when it comes to adopting a pug 11:21 - Finding a reputable ethical pug breeder 13:56 - Backyard breeding and puppy farming 16:58 - Purchasing a pug from a pet shop Check out the organisations talked about in the Show here: - PugsSOS: https://www.pugs-sos.com/ - Pug Rescue & Adoption Victoria: http://www.pugrescue.org.au/ - Saffron on the Hill: http://www.thehill.org.au/ - Oscar's Law: http://www.oscarslaw.org/ - RSPCA: https://www.rspca.org.au/ - Dogzonline: https://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/breeders/pug.asp - Perfect Pets: https://perfectpets.com.au/ss/st/Breeder+-+Dogs/pt/Dogs/b/Pug If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at https://www.podchaser.com/ThePugLifeShow And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. NEXT WEEKS EPISODE: I have always thought of Rescue Foster Carers as Super Hero's - they take in surrendered Puggies who may have had a rough start to life and give them a home, as well as the love and attention they never got, but deserved so that they can be ready for their fur-ever loving home when they're ready. In my mind, that would take a lot of guts, love and patience .. and then tissues, hugs and kisses when they happily head off with their fur-ever family leaving you behind to prepare yourself for the next beautiful soul that will need your love and attention. This episode isn't just about the beautiful Puggies who are in care, and can I just say you're going to love Pippy the rescue Puggie who was on the Show, it is also about the amazing work that Foster Carers do, and what it takes to be a Foster Carer to a rescue Puggie as told by Donna from PugsSOS (WA)
08 Dec 2024 | S3 EP11: Pug Rescue and Adoption Victoria | 00:42:58
Many years ago, when I rescued my first pug Winston a.k.a Fatdog through a local Vet who was doing everything they could to save the life of a little black pug whose only crime was that his family no longer wanted him and thought it was better to ‘put him down’ than find a loving home, did I realise just how naive I was about the world of pugs. Which is why today’s episode is so important to me – today I’m talking to Joanna from Pug Rescue and Adoption Victoria, a volunteer community foster care network that rehabilitates Pugs, and Frenchies when the need arises, so that they find their fur-ever loving family and to never have to face the possibility of being ‘put down’ because their owners don’t want to help them find a loving home. 05 Feb 2023 | S2 EP01: The impact of loss on a Pug-family | 00:15:30
This week I'm talking about loss; specifically, the loss of a Pug and the impact it has on the Pug Pawrents, the Pug-family and how it is different each time it occurs. With the recent passing of my third Pug Charles, I realised that our grief journey was very different to that of his brother Winston and my first Pug Louis. Andrew and I have felt the impact that their passing has had on our lives, but it wasn’t until we lost Charles that I realised just how different our grieving processes were with each Puggie.

02 Oct 2022 | S1 EP10: Meet Bubbles n Cuddles Mobile Dog Wash | 00:40:40
In this week's episode we're talking to Tim and Kat about their Pug Buddy plus we'll also be talking about grooming and their business, Bubbles n Cuddles Mobile Dog wash. This Show is packed with pawsome grooming information and wonderful stories about Buddy including his many nicknames which are funny and totally relatable ... I won't give them all away but one of favourites is 'Crumb Bum' and I am sure you can figure out how he managed to earn that one! In this episode Tim and Kim will share: - (01: 12) - What inspired you to start this business being it’s mobile as opposed to the traditional shopfront? - (2:07) - What are some of the key differences between going to a salon and using a mobile business? - (2:51) - What is the most difficult thing about grooming a pug? - (11:20) - What’s probably the most important thing that we should be grooming in our pug and how often should we be doing it? - (15:40) - How did you and Buddy meet? - (19:51) - What inspired you to become a pug pawrent in the first place? - (21:42) - Buddy’s nicknames - (25:28) - Buddy’s birthday - (29:52 )- Buddy’s treats - (31:42) - Buddy’s paw bump and rollover tricks - (33:23) - What is Buddy’s favourite adventures? - (36:54) - What is Buddy’s favourite outfit? NEXT EPISODE: In next weeks episode I am talking about the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) calling for 'any dog with a muzzle length less than a third of its skull length (being) banned from being bred or shown because of the suffering caused on the animal.' I agree with the call to clean up the breeding community/industry by expanding/introducing legislation to enable the relevant authorities the ability to enforce safe breeding practices, and for the readjustment of breeding standards back to healthy levels so that our Pugs can live their best lives with us for as long as possible. What I don't agree with is the focus on a small portion of dogs that have been on the wrong end of the lax breeding laws in Australia due to their popularity?

07 Jul 2024 | S3 EP01: Playing Indoors at Bark Park | 00:40:24
So, recently I had the pleasure of discovering Melbourne’s first and only Indoor Dog Park with Rosie, Kenji and their Foster Sister and Brother Roxie and Wally, and boy did we have a great time! I’m not sure I saw their bodies move for the rest of the day when we finally got home they were so PUGGERED but it is a testament to the work that Charnelle has put into creating this amazing space for our fur-children. So if you’re looking for a safe alternative to an outdoor dog park that has separate play areas for small and large dogs … not to mention the fact that you don’t have to worry about rain, wind or hail, then I think today’s PUGCAST might be just what you’re looking for this winter. 13 Oct 2024 | S3 EP07: What would a Puggie need with a treadmill? | 00:24:40
I would understand if you thought to yourself on seeing the title of this PUGCAST, what would a Puggie need with a treadmill especially when I titled it “What would a Puggie need with a treadmill?”. However, when I came across this treadmill earlier this year, it made me think of my first Pug Louis, aka Fatdog and how he could have benefitted from a treadmill like this when we needed to get his weight down. In this episode I’ll cover:

28 Aug 2022 | Ep 05: Have you made provision for your Puggies in your Will? | 00:08:20
I know it sounds like a strange topic to broach, but after having had a recent discussion with a Grumble friend about a rescue Puggie who had moved between three owners because all three had passed away, it made me realise that it was a topic that needed discussing. So ask yourself, 'who would you want your Puggie to live with after you pass?' and I'll share with you what I've done to for Charles and Rosie: 01:14 - Why have I made provisions for Rosie & Charles in my Last Will & Testament? 03:17 - Allocating what’s required to gift your pug’s nominated carer for their living expenses 04:40 - Giving back to pug rescuers 05:41 - Questions I asked myself whilst preparing for my Will If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at https://www.podchaser.com/ThePugLifeShow And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. NEXT WEEKS EPISODE: Up until we met Cruze and Emily a few weeks ago, I had no idea there was such as thing as 'Sniffer School' or as I like to call it - scent training for fun! Our lovely guest Fiona runs a dog training school in WA that specialises in teaching any breed of dog scent work - yep even Pugs can learn to do it, just like little Emily who is a champion at it from what Fiona told us. The best part about this Show is the 'at home' sniffer training you can give your Puggie, no School required - Fiona told us how we can introduce a little bit of scent work into your everyday life with your Puggie and I have to admit, I tried it at playgroup and the Puggies loved it!

In this weeks episode I am talking about the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) calling for 'any dog with a muzzle length less than a third of its skull length (being) banned from being bred or shown because of the suffering caused on the animal.' I agree with the call to clean up the breeding community/industry by expanding/introducing legislation to enable the relevant authorities the ability to enforce safe breeding practices, and for the readjustment of breeding standards back to healthy levels so that our Pugs can live their best lives with us for as long as possible. What I don't agree with is the focus on a small portion of dogs that have been on the wrong end of the lax breeding laws in Australia due to their popularity? 01:17 - My ‘RANT’ about the AVA’s ‘partial ban’ and their accompanying explanation 03:33 - Does banning pugs resolve poor breeding practices in Australia? 05:24 - Let’s talk about fixing the underlying issue 07:36 - Our pugs as our life’s significant companions Check the websites I talked about in the Show here: - Oscar’s Law: https://www.oscarslaw.org/ - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/OscarsLawAUS - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oscarslawinc/ - Article: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10475455/Call-BAN-French-Bulldogs-Pugs-Australia.html If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at https://www.podchaser.com/ThePugLifeShow And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. NEXT WEEKS EPISODE: In next weeks episode we're talking to Candy about her Pug Penelope and her Etsy store Pugpalooza. Candy is one of those lucky Hooman's who got to grow up with Pugs, and now has her own to love. Penelope came to Candy after her previous Pug Miss Molly passed away unexpectedly and Candy's mom suggested that she visit a breeder and enjoy some quality Pug-love time even if she didn't want a Pug at the moment. I think you all know what ended up happening but how it happened is best shared by Candy as it's a beautiful story and proves once again that the universe works in mysterious but wonderful ways. Candy also has a Pug-based Etsy store and Blog called Pugpalooza and she'll share with us what inspired her to start and what inspires her to continue
09 Feb 2025 | S4 EP01: The Purple Poppy | 00:52:04
World War and Service Animal Day is a couple of weeks away, on the 24 February to be exact, and ashamedly as a veteran myself I didn’t know about this very impawtant day or what the Purple Poppy was until I meet some of the team at the Dog Lovers Show. Needless to say, after that enlightening conversation and the purchase of a couple of Purple Poppies for myself and Andrew to wear alongside our Red Poppies I invited the President of the Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation, Nigel Allsop, to come onto the show and talk to me about what it is AWAMO does, what does the Purple Poppy represent, as well as tell me about the first recipient of the Australian and New Zealand Distinctive Animal Distinguished Service Medal to be awarded this year on 24 February at the Australian War Memorial. In this episode I’ll cover:

24 Nov 2024 | S3 EP10: Finding your pawfect Pet Professional match | 00:43:15
Today I am talking to Sarah, the President of the Pet Professionals Guild Australia, about the services they provide the Fur-pawrent community and why they do it. Now I know the name sounds very officious and I would understand you thinking that today’s conversation might be a little dry, but I’m telling you it’s neither; it’s fascinating and very informative. Not only is the PPGA a trusted location to find Pet Professionals who believe in and embody force free, humane training and pet care methods, they are also a huge repository of information about the many baffling things our Pugs/Pets do that needs explaining in a simple easily digestible way that is also fact checked which we know is not always the case with other websites. Want to skip ahead, this is where to find the topics we discussed in the PUGCAST:

02 Mar 2025 | S4 EP02: Pug Tattoos; an enduring memorial | 00:36:42
Have you ever considered memorialising your Pug or Puggies by getting a tattoo? I already have one tattoo from my Navy days, and I always thought that I’d get more but life just got in the way and I’m now thinking that it’s time to change that – the big question is, what do I get? I have been a Pug-mum to five Pugs in the last 20 years, not counting the Rescue Puggies I have been blessed to foster, and I’m wondering if I will have enough “body canvas” to fit them and future Pugs in if I choose a particular type or size of tattoo. So, to help me with my decision, I invited Tattoo Artist, Sarah Tavilla to come on the Show and talk about her work and what are the most popular tattoo’s for Pawrents. In this episode I’ll cover:

It’s our first Pug interview for 2024 and it’s a PAWSOME one; how could you not love it when we’re talking to pugs with names that said in quick succession mean a tasty ‘adults only’ drink …. Espresso Martini! I can only imagine how much fun Gurvinder, their Pug-mom has calling their names when they’re running a amok at WhittlePug. 06 Apr 2025 | S4 EP 04: Furry Tales with PD the Pug 🐾🎙️ | 00:49:06
Call me a big kid, but I absolutely love children’s books—especially ones about pugs! There’s something magical about diving into a simpler world, where I can easily imagine my own pug as the star of the story. PD the Pug (with a little help from his mommy Marilee) has been busy turning beloved fairy tales into pawsome furry-tail adventures. You can just picture PD right in the middle of all the fun and what I love most is that while the stories are playful and full of PD charm, they still hold onto timeless messages that feel just as relevant today. And is why Furry Fairy Tails; PD The Pug's Bedtime Stories is now my favourite PD book In this episode we talked about:

10 Nov 2024 | S3 EP 09: PD The Pug | 01:03:50
There is a saying that goes “everyone has a book inside of them” and who knew that included Pugs! Now it’s not often I get to meet a multi-talented Pug such as PD the Pug; pug-author and all round cute snaggle-toothed boy pug, but thankfully he agreed to come on the Show to not only talk about himself and his pawsomeness (or should I say, have his Pug-mom Marilee talk about his pawsomeness), but to also talk about his books – the fourth having been released this year and my personal favourite – ‘A Star is Born!; PD the Pug on the Silver Screen. In this episode I’ll cover:

04 Dec 2022 | S1 EP19: Pugs; a whole lot of pawsonality in a widdle package | 00:08:11
In this weeks episode I am talking to you about Pug pawsonalities and how I fell into the trap of not recognising that every Pug has a unique pawsonality and no matter how hard I unknowingly try, one Pug will never behave like another. In this episode I will talk about: 00:44 - The pug pawsonalities that make them unique 01:36 - My four puggies and their completely different personalities 02:16 - Winston was not Lewis 2.0 04:37 - My expectation did not match reality 06:34 - There can only be one Rosie If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at podcasher.com If you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE: In next week's episode our guest is author Patrick Ford talking about his children's book, Tales of Two Naughty Pugs; The Great Bone Robbery. The book is centred on Pug brothers Louie and Zuuchie, who have built a robot labrador to steal the world's tastiest bone, and unless two hounds from the Dog Police can arrest the Pugs and find the bone, everyone will be in the poop! It's a great read for any age and this episode will give you some wonderful insights into the characters and what is happening next for Louie and Zuuchie
11 Aug 2024 | S3 EP03: What's in a (Puggies) Name | 00:19:09
Have you ever wondered what your Puggie’s name says about you or your Puggie Pawrent friend? Well let me tell you, I asked myself that question after my conversation with Gurvinder about Espresso and Martini, two fabulous Puggie names, and I ended up down a rabbit hole reading a multitude of articles (yes I’m not the only one who has thought about this apparently) and I thought I would share some of the more interesting things I discovered in my reading journey about what is in a Puggies name. In this episode I’ll cover:

30 Oct 2022 | S1 EP14 with Bronson | 00:30:07
In this week's episode, we're talking to Joanna about her Pug Bronson We always love hearing the stories behind our guests' names, and Joanna didn't disappoint. Now you could be excused from assuming that Bronson got his name from the devilishly handsome actor "Charles Bronson" because Bronson is a handsome devil himself, but that’s not actually the case. I still get chills down my spine thinking about what happened and is definitely a tale worth hearing if for no other reason to know what you need to do should this ever happen to your Puggie. The good news is that Bronson is OK and as lively as ever! In this episode Joanna will share: 04:30 - Bronson’s upcoming birthday 05:17 - Teaching Bronson to jump for his treats 06:25 - What inspired Jo to become a pug pawrent 08:30 - How did Jo and Bronson found each other 10:15 - How Bronson wakes Jo up 12:43 - The interesting story behind Bronson’s name 14:00 - Bronson’s paw-sonality 17:09 - Bronson’s naughty traits 20:22 - Bronson’s favourite activity 21:10 - Bronson’s near-death experience 25:06 - Bronson’s favourite outfit If you'd like to watch the LIVE STREAM REPLAY of this episode, you can find it on our Blog https://pugparties.com/blogs/livin-the-pug-life-show/livin-the-pug-life-show-ep-32-with-bronson If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at podcasher.com And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. 07 Jul 2024 | S3 EP00: What’s in store for 2024 | 00:05:44
So, at the end of 2023, Rosie, Kenji and I had big plans for 2024 including a pugtastic season for the Pug Life Show … then the Pug Life happened, and we find ourselves curly tail deep in family and puggie emergencies (everyone is ok now so breathe a sigh of relief!) and we had started to work on our first Pug-specific clothing line and we all of a sudden found ourselves with no time left to keep in touch regularly on our socials or work on the PUGCAST – horrific I know! I promise you that we slowly chipped away at our to do list and we found some amazing Hooman’s and Puggies to invite onto the Show this year, and although the year is half over, we’re going to deliver 12 episodes as planned at the end of 2023. That means you get a new PUGCAST in your inbox every two weeks! That’s right, we’re releasing a new PUGCAST episode on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month and we know that you’re going to love the line-up we have panned. If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review on your PODCAST streaming service. So sit back and relax as I talk to you about PUGOWEEN and how you can get involved no matter where you are or what you’re doing. 18 Dec 2022 | S1 EP21: Can any Puggie be a Super Model? | 00:12:21
In this weeks episode I am talking to you about being a Pug Super Model and how you can prepare yourself should you ever decide to become one. I personally think that any Puggie can be a Super Model but the decision is not actually up to me or the Pawrent, so tune in and fine out why it is so impawtant that the Puggie makes the final decision: 00:51 - The easy and not-so-easy answers to the question 02:28 - The importance of introductions 04:33 - Exposing the puggies to the process a little bit at a time 07:21 - When it’s just not our day to take photos 08:51 - Natural poses are the best 10:06 - Practice, practice, practice If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at podcasher.com If you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. We love talking Pug with you and our Puggie Guests, and we're looking forward to continuing the snuffling (and sneezing) next year. Don't forget to continue the conversation over on Facebook because we'll always be there saying 'Haylo', sharing pictures and stories with you, and we'll tell you know about our first Episode of 2023 too!
10 Dec 2023 | S2 EP12: What is wrong with my Pug? | 00:51:33
Meet Pug-mom Rachel and her beautiful little girl Agatha, whom you’ll be able to hear snoozing, or should I say snoring, throughout the episode in that ever-so-cute little style that only a Puggie can. This is a wonderful joyful episode about Agatha, how they met and what their Pug Life has been like – especially the anecdote about their bonding within minutes of meeting which I am sure you can relate to. 14 Aug 2022 | S1 EP03: I wasn't always a Crazy Pug-Lady | 00:10:51
In this weeks episode I am talking to you about what happened when I allowed rude comments about my Pugs affect me and my Pug Life. I was the person that people would look at with the expression that basically said "who IS this woman?", and I was that person who people would literally say, "you can't compare your Pug/s to children, they're not the same". For me, being a Pug-mom or a Crazy Pug-Lady is great fun but I have had times where I have doubted it; I'll share with you what happened and what got me back to being the best Pug-mom I could be.:

NEXT WEEKS EPISODE: In next week's episode we're talking to Jennifer about her Pugs Cruze and Emily This Daddy/Daughter team are some talented over-achieving Puggies that are just adorable; Emily is learning scent work also known as "Sniffer School" and Cruze is a Therapy Puggie, or Thera-Pug, as Jennifer likes to call him. Both are amazing Puggies doing amazing things that a Pug wouldn't normally be associated with, which is why we know you'll love getting to know Jennifer, Cruze & Emily.
13 Aug 2023 | S2 EP08: Did I do the right thing? | 00:17:53
I don’t think I’ve ever met a Pug-Pawrent who hasn’t asked this of themselves or discussed it with another Pug-Pawrent when it comes to making a decision about their Pugs well-being. You know what I’m talking about, Am I feeding them the right food? Am I making the right decision about a veterinary procedure? Am I really capable of caring for a Pug? And the dreaded, Am I making the right decision when it comes to making ‘that’ decision? In this episode, I’m going to share with you some of my “Am I doing the right thing” moments and what I have learned from them so far. In this episode I’ll cover: · 01:23 Our recent Vet visit · 04:35 Our “are we doing the right thing?” dilemma · 06:00 Advice on what we’ve done in the past If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review on your PODCAST streaming service. 15 Dec 2024 | S3 EP11 BONUS: Pug Rescue Christmas wishes | 00:25:17
Last week I spoke to Jo from Pug Rescue and Adoption Victoria about the work they do and the Puggie lives they save … not to mention the puggily ever after stories they get a front row seat too when a resuce puggie gets their wish of being adopted by a loving family. So this week, Jo kindly agreed to pop back on the PUGCAST and talk about the Christmas wishes three rescue puggies have asked SantaPaws to grant, and how you might be able to help SantaPaws grant those wishes *Please note that the audio does experience a little bit of feedback during the episode that we couldn’t edit out without affecting the conversation :( Want to skip ahead, this is where to find the topics we discussed in the PUGCAST:

11 Jun 2023 | S2 EP06: How to deal with separation anxiety | 00:14:37
In this episode I’m talking about Puggie separation anxiety. Apparently, research has found that ‘one in every 4-6 dogs’ have separation anxiety and that it is ‘more common in older dogs’. What’s more, it can present in different forms and at different times. I’ve experienced Pug-to-Pug separation anxiety between Winston and Charles, and Pug-to-Hooman separation anxiety with Louis and now Kenji, and surprise surprise, no two Pugs are the same when it comes to displaying their anxiety! But the great thing is, there are ways to reduce the impact so that they can live their Pug life to the fullest and we’ll cover all the options in this episode. In this episode I’ll cover: • 01:15 1 in every 4-6 dogs have separation anxiety • 02:35 What is Puggie separation anxiety • 03:40 Steps to help your Puggie overcome separation anxiety • 07:10 When to get professional help • 08:35 My experiences with my Puggies Reference: Dealing with Separation Anxiety in dogs, by Dr Diane van Rooy, University of Melbourne, https://pursuit.unimelb.edu.au/articles/dealing-with-separation-anxiety-in-dogs If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review on your PODCAST streaming service. 18 Sep 2022 | S1 EP08: Meet PugsSOS (WA) | 00:39:40
In this week's episode we're talking to Donna from PugsSOS (WA) I have always thought of Rescue Foster Carers as Super Hero's - they take in surrendered Puggies who may have had a rough start to life and give them a home, as well as the love and attention they never got, but deserved so that they can be ready for their fur-ever loving home when they're ready. This episode isn't just about the beautiful Puggies who are in care, and can I just say you're going to love Pippy the rescue Puggie who was on the Show, it is also about the amazing work that Foster Carers do, and what it takes to be a Foster Carer to a rescue Puggie. In this episode Donna will share: 01:43 - Getting to know Pippy and her story 07:08 - Gizmo and his conditions 09:01 - How Winston and George went into foster care 12:40 - What is PugsSOS’ mission 14:25 - What inspired Donna to get involved with PugsSOS 20:08 - How do the pugs go when they leave 23:10 - What does it take to be a foster carer 28:41 - How long does a pug stay in foster care 30:09 - How can other people get involved if they can’t commit to becoming foster carers Check their socials and the website they talked about in the Show here: - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PugsSOS - Website: https://www.pugs-sos.com/ If you'd like to watch the LIVE STREAM REPLAY of this episode, you can find it on our Blog https://pugparties.com/blogs/livin-the-pug-life-show/life-show-ep-33-with-pugssos If you liked the episode, or if you think it'll be useful for someone else, please leave a review over at https://www.podchaser.com/ThePugLifeShow And if you've got any questions or want to tell us how much you loved the Episode then let me know over at our Facebook Group "Livin' the Pug Life" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinthepuglife/) where Crazy Pug Ladies meet to talk all things pug. NEXT WEEKS EPISODE: In this weeks episode I am talking to you about losing Charles at play group, not something I do often .. or should I say ever!
14 May 2023 | S2 EP05: We’re all going on a Fur-family Holiday | 00:18:04
In this episode I’m talking about fur-family holidays. We try to go on at least one every year, but I realised just before Easter that we hadn’t been on a proper fur-family holiday for 5 years! So, we decided to book an Airbnb place near the sea at the last minute and enjoy the four days off. But with so much time in between holiday’s I realised just how out of practice I was in making sure we packed everything Rosie and Kenji would need for the trip. So I thought I’d share my packing list with you so you don’t forget anything on your trip and find yourself searching for a pet store in an unfamiliar town praying they stock your Puggies favourite treaties … yes that was us this time round! In this episode I’ll cover: • 02:15 – It’s been 5 years! • 04:00 – The ‘Belt of Power’ • 05:15 – The minimum we pack for a fur-family holiday • 12:45 – What we’d add for a beach holiday • 14:10 – What we’d add for a camping holiday Please note: there’s some Puggie snoring accompanying this episode; it’s not that its boring, they’re still recovering from their amazing holiday!
