Meet Paul Oleynick

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada- Paul Oleynick, fell in love with the movies at an early age and discovered he had a knack at impersonating his favorite characters from the Big Screen. Paul, joined drama at an early age. When it was time to graduate school, he skipped his Grad and went to New York to pursue his dream and won the IMTA- International, Modelling and Talent convention's - TV Real People Jr. Commercial competition. One Year later, Paul, decided to enroll in The National Institute Of Broadcasting. After graduating, he auditioned for The Manitoba Television Network, where he voiced his first character Ralph- The Dog which garnished a National CANPRO Gold Award for Excellence in Canadian Broadcasting. Paul, then took on the role e of Promotions Writer/Producer/Director of which mostly consisted of creating original Movie Trailers. When, A-Channel, Calgary opened its doors in 1997, he hopped-on-board to launch the new channel where he was recognized, this time; with a CANPRO Gold Award- for writing/producing and directing and was also, a CAB- Canadian Association of Broadcaster, finalist. Paul, then was briefly hired by Warner Brothers affiliate out of Sacramento, KQCA, but, had too put the fun in the sun on hold when his green card took too long. Paul, then planted his feet in Edmonton, writing/producing and directing On-Air Promotions for Corus Entertainments Movie Central, but when the company moved to Toronto....Paul, decided to take a stab at his first love, Radio and freelance. Known for his quirky comedy style, Over the course of Paul's career, he has also acted in Award-Winning International Educational dramas, a rock video, voiced numerous commercials for both TV and Radio, voiced a virtual reality game, voiced an International film trailer, co-narrated a Documentary, voiced 3 children's Audiobooks, acted in Film, acted in Shakespeare in the Park and directed two very successful Theatre plays. In 2018; also 2023, Paul was asked to appear on RVN TV, New Jersey to discuss his career as an Award-Winning TV/Radio On-Air Promotions Writer/Producer/Directors and as a Voice-Over Artist, Award-Winning Actor & Impersonator!

DENNIS MALLEN, ACTOR and PRODUCER

Dennis W. Mallen, Jr. oldest of three children, Dennis was born in Newark, NJ and raised in middle-class, Kearny, NJ. As a straight C student and athlete, Dennis always had a "happy go lucky" charm and brought a certain intensity to everything that he's done. He was fortunate enough to have corporate success at a young age. He was a 25 year old technology executive in Manhattan. During the dot.com era, Dennis was the CEO of a technology firm. It is at this time that Dennis began his acting career. His first role was an off-Broadway rendition of "Of Mice and Men." Dennis discovered that he was a "true method actor" by exploring and demonstrating the depths of his role as "Lenny." It is after that that Dennis had his first audition, that he booked. He was the principal actor in a "China Airlines" commercial. He has gone on to have many roles both principal and supporting. Most recently and notable, he is the lead actor in the features "Killer Miller," "Grey People," "Daddy We're Back, " and "The Italians." He's also had notable supporting roles in "The Mad Hatter," "Life's Rewards" "Ponder," "The Irishman," and "Devil's Advocate." Dennis is also committed to numerous projects and commercials throughout North America.
Dennis' professionalism, marketability and preparedness has made him the ideal actor for any role that comes his way. He has displayed an extensive "range" in his character development. He is known for exploring roles of characters that are "broken;" because afterall, there's no fun in a vanilla character.

Jennifer was selected as a 2020 TRIBECA NOW Participant at Tribeca Film Festival. Her written and produced content has amassed over 300 million views across BuzzFeed Video, VRScout, and CryptTV. Jennifer's writing portfolio includes branded work for Sony Pictures, Target, Rue21, and NatureMade, amongst others. As the first female staff-writer on the scripted show SOLVE, Jennifer wrote over ten viral episodes. In fact, her episode, "Poisoned Popstar," obtained over nine-million views. Jennifer prides herself on spotlighting dynamic, female characters.

MEET ALMOG AVIDAN ANTONIR 

Almog is an Israeli-born, LA-based writer/director with sensibilities for both the dramatic and the comedic. He received a BFA in Film Production from Chapman University. While in college, he co-founded the YouTube channel Almost Cool Films, featuring narrative shorts that have collectively garnered over 130K subscribers and millions of views. Following the success of the channel, Almog went on to direct commercials and original branded content for brands such as Toyota, Bud Light, Sony Pictures, Lionsgate, and Invisalign, to name a few.

Almog’s films have screened at numerous international film festivals, including Academy-accredited LA Shorts Film Festival and Academy-accredited Nashville Film Festival. His PSA about gender non-conformity, “My Heroes”, was featured in AdWeek, CBS News, and BuzzFeed, among others. His horror-comedy short, “Teddy Bears Are For Lovers” was featured on Short Of The Week and Blumhouse-backed Crypt TV. “Teddy Bears,” the feature film, is currently in pre-production with a growing team that includes Gremlins’ Joe Dante. 

Almog recently directed his first feature film, Trust, in March, 2021. The film is a drama that tells the story of three siblings trying to cope with their mother’s suicide, torn between mourning and greed. Trust is the winner of the “Best Feature: New Visions” Jury Award and “Best Feature: Drama” Audience Award at Cinequest Film Festival. The film is slated for a 2023 release.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Brian A. Metcalf (WGA, PGA, DGA, VES, ASCAP) is an Asian-American, award-winning filmmaker (writer, director, producer and actor). He has worked with such talent as Academy Award® Nominee Mickey Rourke, Academy Award® Nominee Sean Astin, Golden Globe® Nominee Lou Diamond Phillips, Golden Globe® Nominee Penelope Ann Miller, Primetime Emmy® Nominee John Heard, Kiefer Sutherland, Tom Arnold, David Henrie, William Sadler, Mark Pellegrino, Michael Madsen, James Russo, Thomas Ian Nicholas and more. The New York Times listed the film as one of their top 5 action films to watch for stating "The veteran ensemble in Brian A. Metcalf's visceral Los Angeles-set crime thriller supplies plenty of firepower in a bloody revenge narrative that sees Ethan deliciously hammering his enemies with a crowbar."
Before "ADVERSE," Brian made the mockumentary comedy/horror "LIVING AMONG US," distributed by Sony Pictures and Fox International. Both film scripts along with 2 others (4 total) were placed into the permanent core collection at the Margaret Herrick Library by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Metcalf received a scholarship and was accepted into Sundance Co//ab TV writing classes under the instructions of Angela LaManna and Peter Biegen.

Meet Ancara Holgate and learn about her journey as a storyteller.

I was born and raised on the sun-bathed tropical island Jamaica, until I moved to the UK as a teenager. As a happily married mother of two, I have worked in various jobs: as a qualified business administrator, hairdresser, in retail as a qualified manager – and I’ve had a 16-year run in health and social care.

I enjoy dancing, singing, dining out and helping others. But one day I discovered that my love for writing would prove invaluable in helping me deal with the challenges of my mum being diagnosed with MS. The writing kept me going and I found it therapeutic.

I continued putting pen to paper until finally, through unrelenting encouragement and support from my aunt, with whom I shared my stories (and is sadly no longer with us), I decided to published my stories for children.

Meet Douglas Taurel.

Douglas Taurel recently played Joe Petito in the upcoming Lifetime Movie, The Gabby Petito Story. He worked opposite Thora Birch, who also directed the film. He was cast as a voice in the popular video game Red Redemption and has appeared in numerous television shows and independent films. Including The Cobbler (starring Adam Sandler and Dustin Hoffman) and The Kindergarten Teacher (starring Maggie Gyllenhaal), which premiered at Sundance. He's built a seasoned resume with characters living on the edge of life. The Los Angeles Times said his work on Nurse Jackie, "Nurse Jackie gets her most fascinating character yet to date." 

He recently finished directing and starring in the TV series Landing Home which he wrote. It recently earned Best Drama at the GI Film Festival, and he was nominated for Best Actor and Best First Time Director at the GI Film Festival. The series also earned Best Drama by the Wings of Honor Festival. It is now streaming on Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Tubi and Vudu, and Vimeo On Demand. 

Douglas is well known for his solo show, The American Soldier, which has been nominated for the Amnesty International Award. A play that he wrote to honor Veterans and their families. It is based on actual letters from veterans and their families that span from the Revolution through the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is touring throughout the country and has performed in over 34 cities. Including notable spaces like The Kennedy Center in 2016 and 2019, The Library of Congress, and Off-Broadway at 59east59th street. It earned four out of 5 stars at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and The Huffington Post said the play was "Flawless and powerful ." It's been mentioned featured in The Washington Post, Washington Times, DC Metro, US Veteran Magazine, Austin Chronicle, Broadway World, The Military Times, Playbill, and Time Out, to name a few. 

As a writer, he was commissioned by the Library of Congress to write, create and perform his second solo show, An American Soldier's Journey Home. It commemorates the ending of the First World War and tells the story of Irving Greenwald, a soldier in the 308 Regiment and part of the Lost Battalion. He has performed the play twice at the Library of Congress and the Hoboken Museum. 

In addition, he's been nominated for the Innovative Theatre Award. He has performed in numerous Off-Broadway productions in some of New York's most established theaters, and The New York Times said his work as George in Of Mice and Men. "Douglas Taurel is a fine actor." Other Off-Broadway plays include Hard Rain (Cherry Lane Theatre), An Enemy of the People (Barrow Group Theatre), (The Shakespeare Project), Gloria(Playwrights Horizons), The Deputy (Theatre for a New Audience), and King Lear (Houston Shakespeare Festival). He reversed both roles of Lee & Austin in True West at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Three Weeks Daily, saying his portrayal of Austin was "a moving and stunning work by an actor."  

Douglas grew up in Houston, Texas, and is the son of Latin American parents. His mother is from Colombia, and his father is from Argentina and is fluent in Spanish. Constantly challenging himself mentally and physically, Douglas boxed in college, has run two marathons (New York & Philadelphia), bagged all 10 Scottish Munros, and ran with the bulls in Spain on his honeymoon, and in 2012 climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. He's lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, loves a good bourbon, and is an Ole Miss alumni.

RYAN BABCOCK, ACTOR

Ryan Babcock was born and raised in Long Beach California and went to David Star Jordan High School. He started his career on the Fox hit T.V series "Gang Related". He is married to his lovely wife with 2 beautiful and amazing children. Since he went on to perfect his craft and study at Second City, and Anthony Gilardi Acting Studio along with other training such as firearm, tactical and stage combat training. In 2022 Ryan won three awards at the Les Femmes Underground International Film Festival for the film "Buffalo And Trout". These awards were 'Cinematic Excellence", Cinematic Execution", and the panels "Jury Award Official Selection". He also does appearances at Comic Cons all over the world, most recent was Malta Comic Con in Europe  in Oct of 2022. Ryan has apperared in many of tv's hit series such Ray Donovan, Sons Of Anarchy, N.C.I.S Los Angeles, The Orville, and currently working on season 5 of Mayans M.C. Award-winning American actor, writer and director, Chris Mulkey has a long and diverse career in film, television and stage. Chris is best known for On the Basis of Sex (2018), Whiplash (2014), Captain Phillips (2013), Twin Peaks (1990), Castle Rock (2018), Broken Trail (2006), Any Day Now (1998) and Boardwalk Empire (2010).
Chris grew up in the Midwest, majored in acting at the University of Minnesota and spent four years as a company member of the Children's Theatre of Minneapolis. While in Minnesota, Chris starred in Loose Ends (1975), the Grand Prize winner at the USA film Festival. Chris moved to Hollywood 1975, married actress/artist Karen Landry and they moved to Venice Beach. The couple wrote and starred in Patti Rocks (1988), an independent film that won the Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival. Chris and Karen often worked together in film and on stage in LA, New York, and the Twin Cities.
Chris is also a songwriter with original songs featured in films and television and can be seen playing around the country with his band Chris Mulkey and Deluxe.

Tim O'Hearn:  Tim has been making quite a name for himself the last few years in the Independent horror/action movie scene and has recently gone behind the camera as a producer/writer/director.
He grew-up in northern NY near Watertown and at an early age was fascinated by movies and how they were made. Showdown In Yesteryear is based on a short film The Door, written/directed by Tim. He decided to produce a feature version of the film after it collected a large number of film festival awards and accolades from everyone.

Jeff Grennell: Jeff began acting when joining the troupe at Dogwood Pass Wild West town playing Doc Holiday in their reenactment shows. He has been cast in other films shot there and started making a name for himself locally in the Columbus Ohioarea acting in local films.. He met Showdown In Yesteryear producer Tim O'Hearn on another movie being shot at Dogwood in which they both acted in. A few months later Tim cast Jeff in his short film The Door which became the basis for Showdown in Yesteryear.

Meet the Powerful Journalist and Artistic Director behin this years Ora Film Festival in Italy - Silvia Bizio.

Italian journalist, writer, producer Silvia Bizio has written about film from Los Angeles for the prestigious daily newspaper La Repubblica and the weekly magazines L’Espresso, D and F since 1985. Bizio graduated in Literature and Philosophy from the University of Rome and earned her MA in Sociology and Mass Communication at UCLA. She has written several books including “Los Angeles Babilonia” and “Cinema Italian Style,” a history of Italian cinema at the Academy Awards. Bizio received the inaugural International Media Award from the American Publicists Guild in 1991, was Artistic Director of the contemporary film series Cinema Italian Style from 2004 to 2010 and Co-Artistic Director of the Taormina Film Festival in 2018 and 2019. She produced her first short film as a producer, The Night Shift Belongs to the Stars, directed by Sophia Loren’s son, Edoardo Ponti, and starring Nastassja Kinski, which won best short film at the Tribeca Film Festival and was shortlisted for the Academy Awards. In 2016, Bizio co-produced the documentary You Never Had It: An Evening with Bukowski, based on her video interview with famous author Charles Bukowski in 1981 and directed by Matteo Borgardt. She also produced the 2018 documentary, Camp Monticello: A Forgotten History, highlighting the history and importance of the Italian Prisoner of War camp built in Monticello, Arkansas during WWII.

As an Irish triplet, Trinity spends most of her time with her family and friends. She is always looking for opportunities to seek and create joy in life. Trinity enjoys supporting causes close to her heart, such as the Special Olympics. As her sister is a Special Olympics Athlete, Trinity has spent many years volunteering, fundraising, and supporting this special organization.

Since being diagnosed with ADHD/Generalized Anxiety several years ago, Arianna has used her talent, experience and creativity to break down barriers and stigmas about neurodivergence, and to heighten mental health awareness with an emphasis on ADHD and anxiety disorders. Her latest film, The Tea Party, which Arianna wrote (at age 15), produced and directed, is an innovative reimagining of the tea party scene from "Alice in Wonderland." A fresh take on the popular fable, the story is told from the perspective of a young Alice who suffers from ADHD. Arianna continues to advocate for mental health and neurodiversity, which led to the writing of this very special film. "The Tea Party" made its world premiere screening debut at the TLC Chinese Theatre in Hollywood during the 2023 DANCES WITH FILMS: LA Festival, and has been featured on CTV News: Barrie twice, as well as the Canadian variety-talk show EveRIAthing.
Arianna also wrote, produced and directed the film Sara Snow and the Seven Dancers which follows classically trained ballerina Sara Snow's unjust dismissal from her studio which sets her on a path of reinvention and empowerment. Supported by her friend Mia, Sara is introduced to seven diverse dancers who help awaken her to the beauty in movement and self-expression. It is a film about self-discovery, breaking down barriers and stigmas, and self-acceptance.
Arianna's training includes classes at LeBlanc School of Acting, Moving Art Centre for Performing Arts, The Second City Toronto, Armstrong Acting Studios and Drayton Entertainment. In addition to writing, producing, directing and acting, Arianna is also a skilled dancer, singer, and puppeteer. When not working, she enjoys history, figure-skating, roller-skating, downhill skiing, skateboarding, longboarding and trampoline. Mary was a dancer, until an unfortunate accident which resulted in her dance career coming to an abrupt end. She has always enjoyed bringing smiles to people's faces through her sense of humor. She has the ability to transform a character's feelings and dramatic situations & make it real. Mary can play that astounding role & make you feel as though your heart is going to be ripped from your chest because you can feel her characters pain, just as well as her having that "dry comedic sense of humor". She feels very fortunate that her career has flourished. She is able to do dialects, most of her own stunts, play a variety of sports and musical instruments. Mary is an all around actress who likes to improvise and is easy to work with. She likes to make the projects she's working on fun, believable and meaningful. Her motto is to Be Kind to Each Other, Live, Love, Laugh, Dance and Accept Diversity. She always is there to be a core team-member because she feels the way to succeed is to be there for the complete cast and crew of a production not just for herself. Meet out Guest Storyboard Artist Anthony Sturmas

Anthony Sturmas is LA based storyboard concept artist who originally started out his career as a LA Graffiti artist in the early 80’s. He was inspired to get into storytelling and comics soon after, and in the late '90s, he received a Marvel Comics Scholarship to The Kubert School, located in Dover, New Jersey. Instead of taking advantage of that scholarship, however, he chose to stay on the West Coast and began knocking on the doors of businesses in Los Angeles and painting murals throughout the city.

In 2006 Anthony Sturmas began teaching a pilot program at USC. He received his BFS in Multimedia Animation from The Art Institute of Los Angeles CA, also in 2006, and won a scholarship to the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he was formally trained by Marc Stricland.  His storyboard mentors are Bill Recinos from 'Ghostbusters' & Douglas Kirk 'DreamWorks”. He has written, produced and directed a music video as well as an animated film called “The Redstorm” by Asturmas Studios.

In Los Angeles I have had the honor to work with some of best entertainment companies and film directors, such as Twitch Prime (Amazon), Nickelodeon, ATT, NBC, Sprint, Toyota, the legendary Iggy Pop (Unagi Commercial), and (POTC) Pirates of the Caribbean for Pretty Little Liars, director Steven Kiefer. Other film directors I have worked with in the past, from the movie Sharknado Anthony Ferrante for Hello Hero, The Inhabitant with director Jerren Lauder, Co-Director Ethan Manequis from the classic film “Machete”.  “Z Dead End” by director Robert Restro as the senior storyboard artist starring Kane Hodder and Robert LaSardo. Finally, “ENOUGH” with director Michele LaBrrucherie.

Meet Jonathan Salemi

Jonathan Salemi is a feature film director and producer as well as television producer. His latest directorial effort the feature crime thriller "The Last Deal" opened in theaters across the U.S. and on VOD where it was one of the top rented new releases in the country and later featured in The New York Times "Five Action Films to Stream Now". Jonathan wrote the screenplay for the pic as well as serving as producer.
The Boston native's filmmaking career started at Sony Picture Studios as an intern for Academy Award winning producer Douglas Wick ("Divergent" franchise, "The Great Gatsby" and "Gladiator"). Six months later, he began writing his first feature screenplay and directorial debut, "Ante Up". The ambitious super-16mm film played for a week at the Sunset 5 Theater on Sunset Blvd and made it to #77 in the box-office weekend charts. Welcome to Hollywood!

MEET MELISSA

Melissa Gregory Rue is a film writer, director, and producer based in Louisville, Kentucky.   She grew up on a cattle and tobacco farm in Bourbon County, Ky. long before smoking was out and Bourbon was cool. Melissa earned her M.A. in English Literature from Portland State University and a certificate in filmmaking from The Northwest Film Center. After three decades in Portland, Oregon that included working as an English professor for 20 years, studying film production, and countless outdoor adventures, she moved back to Kentucky at the beginning of the pandemic to be closer to family.  Melissa’s dramas and documentaries have screened in film festivals around the world. Her feature documentary, LIVE OUT LOUD, premiered at Dances With Films in Hollywood in 2022.  The movie was awarded Best Human Rights Film by the Amsterdam International Film Festival and Best Civil Rights Themed Film by New York’s IO Film Festival.  Shot over one year, LIVE OUT LOUD tells the stories of three unhoused people in Portland, Oregon who begin to heal from childhood trauma by learning to make films in a grant-funded class. LIVE OUT LOUD has been signed for worldwide distribution by Porter + Craig Film and Media in Beverly Hills and will be available for streaming later this year.  In addition to working on her own projects, Melissa co-produced Connectivity Project (2020), a documentary series that explores how our stories and actions can have powerful ripple effects around the world.  She served as a juror, vice president and then chair of the McMinnville Short Film Festival from 2021-2023 and helped relaunch Oregon Doc Camp with Women in Film - Portland many years ago.   As a filmmaker living with chronic Lyme and autoimmune disease, Melissa is eager to get started on her next documentary that will advocate for better access to treatment for the many people living with those disabilities.
