She had to be induced for hypertension at 37 weeks and she talks through how despite having to face the mental challenges of labor, she looks back on her experience in a positive manner. Coming from a medical background as a NICU nurse, she talks through how that affected her birthing process and certain decisions she, in hindsight, would make differently. She had been told he was a girl her whole pregnancy, and her birth turned chaotic when his heartbeat was lost during labor, which resulted in an emergency cesarean. She had attempted a VBAC with her second son, but he ended up having similar complications to her first birth, resulting in another cesarean. Her second birth was very different than her first, despite the similar circumstances.
