A couple of years ago on a night train across Germany, I had an old hag experience. Since I could see the entity after escaping sleep paralysis, I was puzzled. How could that be? The experience terrified me and led to an investigation of the phenomenon that resulted in my book - "Basic Instinct: Erotic Paranormal Contact:: The Old Hag and the Mysterious World of Sleep Paralysis" (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0892DJT8W).

Thomas Sheridan is an author, artist and film maker from Dublin, Ireland who came to international recognition in 2011 with the book Puzzling People: the Labyrinth of the Psychopath. In recent times, his work has been featured in some of the world's largest media outlets as the interest in his work into serial killers, occult history and mind control cults continues to grow, and has resulted in Thomas Sheridan becoming a much sought after public speaker due to his entertaining, if at times, hilariously funny and informative style of presentation.

My guest is SC Fisher, an author of horror fiction and specifically a series entitled Base Fear. These tales are loosely based on her real world experiences of living on armed forces bases around the UK. We get into story telling mode and Samantha shares many superb creepy stories from a variety of armed forces bases.

Samantha is a horror author, who has been interested in writing since she was a child. Her husband of 15 years is in the Royal Air Force, and traveling around the country with him was the inspiration for the series, as many bases have their own regional hauntings or horror stories. She was born and raised in North Wales, but has lived all over the U.K. thanks to her husband's job. In conjunction with writing, She is a huge horror fan, and enjoys not only reading horror novels but also watching horror films and TV shows. She is particularly interested in 'ghost hunting' shows, and does have a strong belief in aspects of the paranormal. She spent much of her childhood living in a house that she would certainly classify as having been haunted.

Darren Marlar lived in the Kansas City area for the majority of his childhood and teen years, and calls Olathe, Kansas his hometown. From elementary school onward he found himself entertaining people in some way or another. Acting on stage, singing in a variety of choral groups, being the front-man for rock bands, or as a soloist for competition and in churches, getting involved in community theater, and eventually discovering radio in 1990, in which he has worked full-time up to today.

In 1995, Darren married his bride, Robin, and they are still very happily married.

In 2004 Darren moved to the Rockford, Illinois area (northwest suburb of Chicago) and along with radio and acting in television and film, he also stepped into stand-up comedy (which he has since retired from).

Along with radio and acting, Darren Marlar is well-known as a professional full-time voice over artist. He has been providing quality audio recordings to clients around the world. If his voice sounds familiar, it is due to having voiced thousands of radio commercials, TV spots, movie trailers, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, corporate presentations, phone prompts, audio theater projects, video games, and more! Along with the awards he has won above through the Weird Darkness podcast, Darren Marlar was also awarded the “Excellence in Broadcasting Award” in 2014 by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters for his commercial voiceover work, and is still in high demand.

In the special Halloween episode, I talk with Ezekiel Kincaid - The Paranormal Pastor - about Exorcism, Demons, the nature of evil and much more. It's a startling conversation and worth listening to all the way through.

Known by his fans as "The Paranormal Pastor", Ezekiel Kincaid brings a unique and original touch to the dark fiction genre. His twenty plus years in ministry have afforded him the opportunity to encounter people from all walks of life and in a myriad of situations. These experiences have leaked into his stories in numerous ways. Like life, his writings run the gamut of human existence. Fear, dread, grief, loss, sorrow, hardship, humor, joy, and perseverance; the paranormal, supernatural, demonic, ghastly, and macabre - you'll find it all in the pages of his work.

Mr. Kincaid also has the ability to write in various styles and voices, giving each tale the narration and visceral characters needed to make the words jump off the page for his readers. The greatest compliment that he is most often given is that his stories are so different from one another, it's hard to tell they are written by the same author. This allows him to consistently churn out fresh stories for his readers and keep them on their toes. The only other language he is fluent in is sarcasm. One time, his fiance bet him he couldn't go two minutes without making a sarcastic comment. Zeke didn't last thirty seconds. Since then, he's stopped taking bets. He also has three theological degrees, along with a poetic and romantic side (which he usually ends up ruining with a snarky comment).

He is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has four children, and is about to start his residency as a chaplain. Zeke played football in college and likes to train in martial arts. He's also an avid Ash Williams fan and will fight anyone who says they don't like Bruce Campbell.

Like me, Sylvia Shults is a collector of ghost stories and author but she is also a paranormal investigator. We had a fun conversation about our activities, what we had learned from them and about how she likes the historical context of the stories.

She is the author of several books of paranormal nonfiction, including 44 Years in Darkness, Fractured Spirits: Hauntings at the Peoria State Hospital, and Ghosts of the Illinois River. She lives a short distance away from the haunted asylum that features in so many of her books. She considers it the highest privilege to share the incredible, compassionate history of the Peoria State Hospital. As a paranormal investigator, she has made many media appearances, including a tiny part in the Ghost Hunters episode “Prescription for Fear”, about the asylum.

In this episode I catch up with Andy Cooper PhD to get an update on the Helios School of Esoteric Science. Andy like myself is ex-SOL and someone I have known for quite a while so it was good to have a catch up. Our conversation started on updates Andy has been making to Helios to try to bring magical training to a broader audience by making it more accessible and structuring it for times in which people are often busy. But the conversation soon progressed into many other fascinating areas.

Andy is a Third Degree Initiate of the Western Mystery Tradition and the Director of Studies of the Helios School of Esoteric Science, an online training school teaching the Western Mystery Tradition through Qabalah, Tarot and ancient Egyptian Metaphysics. Helios blends magical training with training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to provide a coherent path of  emotional, mental and spiritual development.

Andy has over 25 years of practical magical and occult experience, having personally trained with Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki for many years, the former Director of Studies of the Servants of the Light School of Occult Science.

He is a certified trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and hypnosis, a Certified Tarot Reader/Advisor, an initiate of the Hawaiian Huna spiritual tradition, a Reiki Master and a Master Practitioner of Timeline Therapy.

He holds a PhD in Esoteric Studies, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and an Advanced Diploma in Learning Management and is a Fellow of the Institute of Training & Occupational Learning.

Tim Walter is a house healer and alternative life coach, dowser and friend. In this episode, I talk to him about house healing - what is it? How does it work? As usual, the conversation takes it's own magical course and we cover topics like reality, expectation and much, much more. In 1998 a simple house move led Tim and family to a life-changing encounter when they discovered they were sharing their new found home with a ghost. Acclaimed by Austria‘s Evolver magazine as “already a legend in his lifetime‘‘, singer-songwriter, author and film-maker Nikolas Schreck’s initiatory application of music, ritual and theater formally began in 1984 when he returned to the West from a life-changing spiritual pilgrimage in Egypt to found the shapeshifting musical ensemble Radio Werewolf, a nine-year sonic magic operation which concluded in 1993. In this episode I catch up with Anthony Peake to find out where his research into life after death has got to. We talk about his ideas and theories, about science and reality and much more. It was in the year 2000 that Anthony's life was to change. A fortuitous set of circumstances allowed him to take a year sabbatical from his business career and he decided that he would focus the fruits of all his reading and research in writing a book. Exactly one year later he surfaced with the manuscript of his first book, then entitled Cheating the Ferryman. This book was a distillation of all his areas of interest, quantum physics, neurology, ancient myths, altered-states of consciousness and the mystery of death. However, it was to take five years before this work appeared in print. Thanks to the help of Professor Bruce Greyson of the University of Virginia, an article based upon Anthony’s Cheating the Ferryman hypothesis was to appear in the Winter 2004 edition of the Journal of Near-Death Studies, the academic periodical of the International Association of Near-Death Studies (IANDS). A few months later, in early 2005, British publishing house Arcturus bought the rights to the book and, a year later, and after a substantial re-write, Anthony’s first book, with the new title Is There Life After Death – The Extraordinary Science of What Happens When We Die was published. The rest, as they say, is history. This book has now sold over 60,000 copies world-wide and has been translated into various foreign language editions including Spanish, Russian and Polish. Indeed, Anthony has now had books published in every major European language.

Anthony has now written nine books, co-authored a tenth and co-edited an eleventh. All of them develop his Cheating the Ferryman hypothesis into ever-wider areas of application. His approach has always been to apply science to the mysterious and the enigmatic. His latest book - Cheating the Ferryman - is an updating of his Is There Life After Death book in the light of the latest research into a number areas of science, including quantum mechanics, cosmology and neurology.

Alienora Browning is a wonderful writer with a super sense of humor - watch, listen and laugh along with us... I have known her for several years via a group of magical friends though we had never met until the day we recorded this and even then - over Zoom. Alienora Browning was born on 9th January 1958. She moved to Headington, Oxford, at the age of four - and was educated in Oxford until the age of eighteen. The oldest of five children, she wrote for pleasure from a very early age, and was an avid reader too. She plays several musical instruments (violin, spinet, piano and recorders) and has sung in various choirs.

After getting a degree in English Literature, at Aberystwyth University, and doing a year's teacher training course, she taught English and Drama, at Worle Community School, in Weston-super-Mare, for thirty years. A lifelong interest in matters mystical and occult led to an association first with Paddy Slade's loose-knit ritual circle in a village near Bath, followed by several years attending Gatherings of the Light - with Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki's SOL group - in Savio House, Bolington, Cheshire, and, more recently, seven years attending ritual weekends, with The Silent Eye, near Buxton. She is now a member of Andy Cooper's Glastonbury-based Lodge Anubis - and has worked extensively with both the Western Mystery Tradition and the Ancient Egyptian one.

Since taking early retirement, back in 2012, Alienora has fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a full-time writer - and, to date, has written/published ten books. They cover a wide range of genres and subjects, from mystical to humorous, poetic to erotic, travel-related to literary. Two of them have won prizes : a first prize for 'Under Cader Idris'; third prize for 'Riding at the Gates of Sixty'. All ten have received excellent reviews on Amazon.

Divorced and with a son in his twenties, Alienora has been based in Glastonbury since 2016. She has recently started creating short videos - featuring stories and excerpts from her books - which can be found on both YouTube and Facebook (see links above). Alienora has been writing a personal journal since she was thirteen. The volumes of this fifty-plus year creative endeavour - and there are over a hundred of them! - detail the life, emotions, frustrations, delights and technical skill of a writer.

In this episode a very enlightening conversation with Maria Wheatley about dowsing, earth energies and her new book - The Secret Mystery of Stonehenge.

Maria is a second-generation dowser who is a leading authority on the geodetic system of earth energies. She was taught how to decode and divine the land by her late father, Dennis Wheatley, who was considered to be one of the UKs top Master Dowsers.

Maria is an accomplished author of books on sacred sites and dowsing. She has researched the esoteric design canons of prehistoric sites, Druidic ceremonial enclosures and the Knights Templar for many years. Maria has studied Neolithic Britain and Bronze Age prehistory with the University of Bath and alongside other professionals, Maria combines her knowledge of archaeology, and earth energies with state of the art equipment to locate and detect the hidden frequencies that the Earth emits. Believing in the Earth Force or dowsing is simply not enough for Maria, she wants to show the world that the prehistoric designers of ancient sites could locate and harness earth energy. Her findings challenge our understanding of sacred sites.

Maria has lectured and given workshops in America and Europe and has also appeared on the History Channel – she managed to get several of the participants who had never before held a dowsing rod – to successfully detect ley lines at Stonehenge,

In the late 1980s, Maria studied astrology and tarot and during the 1990s turned her attention to hypnotherapy, past life regression and reflexology. She has taught complimentary medicine for Swindon College for over 15 years. She has also written holistic diploma courses for private colleges such as the British School of Yoga (BSY Group). She recently founded the Avebury School of Esoteric Studies which offers certificated courses on holistic subjects including past life regression, astrology and dowsing and which is affiliated with the Association of British Correspondence Colleges.

I communicate with Rory Duff often on our dowsing work in Czechia. Ever keen to recruit new dowsers and to expand our knowledge of earth energy lines, Rory recently suggested we have a chat sharing experiences. Rory Duff began his working life as a Geologist on the gold mines in Africa. After a moment of synchronicity and learning about the Austrian mystic Rudolf Steiner, he moved back to the UK where he pursued a career in Coaching and Training. In the last 5 years he switched to researching Geobiology – the study of how the Earth affects life.

Rory is one of the leading pioneers in the World in the understanding of Leylines and Earth Energies and how their frequencies can be highly beneficial as well as dangerous. He came up with the first ever classification of Earth Energies which is now used by thousands of people around the World. He has mapped more of these lines around the World than anyone else by a long way and he was the first to fully map all the major energy lines that could be found over an area of 200 square kilometres – something that took him an hour a day for six years.
