15 Apr 2021 | 3. Do you have to wear the same wedding ring your entire life? | 00:17:53
My favourite episode so far! We talk about the subject that gives many people anxiety: do you have to wear the same engagement and wedding rings your entire life? But it is also for you who maybe is like me: who cannot see yourself getting engaged. We look back on the pretty unequal history of engagement rings, and talk about how the diamond solitaire became the ultimate symbol of love. I also share the story of Halina who wears seven wedding rings (same husband) - and then I reveal how my own non-engagement engagement ring would look like. Listen to the full episode or jump right to your favourite part below! 0.00-2.06 Intro 02.06-03.32 Why do we actually wear engagement and wedding rings? A quite grimy story! 03.32-05.51 When did the diamond solitaire become the ultimate symbol of love? It was actually due to a successful marketing campaign from a diamond company! 05.51-07.34 How large part of their monthly salary is it still recommended that men (yes) spend on the engagement ring? 07.34-09.58 The story of Halina who wears seven wedding rings (same husband) 09:58-13.27 My own story of how I wore power rings on my ring finger when I was single, and how I still cannot see myself getting engaged. And I share how I would design my own non-engagement engagement ring! 13:27-17.53 Final advice for all of us over-thinkers Enjoy! Finally If you like this episode and want the podcast to continue, it would be amazing if you wanted to give an honest review in your podcast player! 22 Apr 2021 | 4. Which gemstone should you choose? The most important factor | 00:18:36
What determines if your gemstone will look beautiful for the next 5 years or 100 years? The same quality that makes them dull and lose their luster and sparkle! In this episode we go through the most important factor to consider when choosing gemstone in your jewelry. You will also learn why ordinary dust can scratch gemstones. You may have wondered why an opal or amethyst ring is rarely marketed as a wedding ring? Today you will get the answer. Listen to the full episode or jump to your favourite section below Link to Moh's scale of hardness 0:00-1:37 Intro 1:45-2:58 My simplest recommendation: choose these three gemstones 2:58-3:32 The difference betweeen rubies and sapphires 3:32-6:00 Why gemstones wear with use and loose its sparkle 6:00-7:03 The definition of gemstone hardness 7:03-10:10 Review of Moh's Scale of Hardness - how gemstones are ranked based on their hardness 10:10-17:35 My 4 best tips to help you choose gemstone for your jewelry! 17:35-18:36 Outro What I call hard gemstones: diamond, sapphire, ruby, chrysoberyl, topaz, emerald, spinel, morganite, aquamarine, heliodor and tourmaline What I call soft gemstones: amethyst, rock crystal, citrine, rose quartz, tanzanite, jade, turquoise, moonstone, opal, coral, amber and pearl (and why you rarely see any of these recommended as a wedding ring) In summary - choose hard, high-quality stones for your most important jewelry that you want to last a long time and be able to inherit, and go wild with the others! 02 May 2021 | 5. The gemstones that are the exceptions to the rule - Topaz and Emerald | 00:20:48
"A hammer cannot scratch a diamond, but it can brake it into a thousand pieces." How is that possible? This is an important episode for you who listened last week! Now that you know about the gemstone hardness scale, you should also know the exceptions. How can a hard gemstone still be fragile? In this episode you will learn why it is seldom recommended to set an emerald in a ring that should be worn every day - and why it is rarely a good idea to remove a gemstone from an old piece of jewelry. I will also answer our first listener question! Hope this episode will be of value to you. And remember: you deserve fine jewelry. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The million dollar question that doesn't really have one straight answer. Today we will sort out everything you need to know about diamonds! In this episode, we will go through:
I have chosen to name this episode “THE Diamond Episode” (spoiler alert - it is an intense one), and I hope that it is one of those episodes you will return to over and over again. 02 Sep 2021 | 12. The 7 Cardinal Sins of Jewelry Shopping (And How To Avoid Them) | 00:45:49
Can you love every single piece of jewelry that you buy? Is it possible to avoid having “anxiety pieces” in your jewelry box that you never use? The last thing you want is your new jewelry purchases to end up in the drawer or on your bedside table causing anxiety every time you see them. But can it be avoided? We did a non-statistical market research with you - the listeners - and came to the conclusion that these are the seven most common mistakes when you buy fine jewelry: Mistake # 1: Not knowing what you are buying Mistake # 2: Not knowing your style and taste Mistake # 3: Not allowing your style to evolve over time Mistake # 4: Buying jewelry of poor quality Mistake # 5: Caring too much about what other people think Mistake # 6: Not having a plan Mistake # 7: Sticking too hard to the plan! My best tip for you who are just entering into this sparkling word of fine jewelry is simply: Start small. Start wearing jewelry. Do not put all your eggs (money) in the same basket (into one piece of expensive jewelry) in the beginning. Start with something small, e.g. a small diamond ring and start wearing it! Slowly but steadily you will find your personal taste! The worst thing you can do for your own jewelry development is not to wear any jewelry at all, because then you know for sure that you will never find what you like. Enjoy! 17 Sep 2021 | 13. They put Scandinavian jewelry on the map - Charlotte & Pernille from The Jewellery Room | 01:00:40
I'm more than excited to have these two cool, Danish sisters on the show! Pernille Møbjerg and Charlotte Møbjerg Ansel-Henry set up their company The Jewellery Room in 2013, after having both worked successfully with jewellery PR for many years. It started as a two-day jewellery fair on Copenhagen Fashion Week, where they gathered press from all over the world to meet with the biggest names on the Scandinavian jewelry scene. But then the pandemic hit - and the sisters transformed their business into the sales of jewellery, still working with the same brands as before. Today, The Jewellery Room has evolved into one of the largest online market places for Scandinavian jewelry, and for many brands, they are the window to the customers. In this episode we talk about their mission with The Jewellery Room, their personal career stories, why they love jewellery, how they look at the old stigmas surrounding fine jewelry purchases and how they strive to make it fun and easy. We talk about jewelry trends, what jewelry they think belong in a capsule jewelry wardrobe and the future of fine jewelry! Enjoy! You can listen to this episode on Spotify, iTunes and Acast. You can join in the conversation on @jewelrypodcast. This episode is also published on the Swedish sister podcast Smyckespodden (episode 39). 22 Feb 2024 | 18. Gabrielle Coco Chanel - An Unusual Jewelry Lover | 01:08:26
Today we sit down and share the story of a fascinating, daring, charming - and as we will learn, very clever woman: Gabrielle Coco Chanel. Known for the little black dress, the perfume (no 5), the quilted handbags - and her rows and rows of pearls necklaces. She wasn't loved by everyone - her workers went on strike because of bad working conditions, which most probably was part of the reason why she had to close down her business during several years. She came from a modest upbringing, where she spent part of her childhood at an orphanage. Soon however, she found that her charm could take her far. She was fond of wealthy men, and continued to seduce them all her life. She lived through two world wars, several recessions, a huge number of design eras and she always knew whom to work with for her next big project - wheather it be creating jewelry, perfumes or get away from the nazis in 1940's Paris. Welcome to the world of Coco Chanel! ⋅⋆⋄ ❀ ⋄⋆⋅⋆ The Jewelry Podcast was founded by jewelry designer Cecilia Kores in 2021.
