What’s up Healthpreneurs, and welcome to another solo round of the Healthpreneur Podcast! If you’re looking to up your communication game in your business or personal life, this one’s for you! The tip I’m going to give today is especially valuable if you’re a coach of any kind.
The trick is to ask more and talk less. What? Talk less? You know us coaches...we love to talk! But sometimes over-talking – and over-giving advice (that’s a thing?) – can be detrimental to our clients and our relationship with them.
In this episode, I’ll be revealing why that is, and what we should be doing to avoid overdependence, empower others to think for themselves, and help them figure out their own solutions. I’ll discuss how we can be better communicators by asking better questions and getting better answers. Tune in!

Welcome to the show, Healthpreneurs! We’ve got a special guest on the show for you today for our Client Deep Dive segment. Susan Gleaton is a registered dietician with an integrative and functional nutrition background. She helps her client overcome the inconvenience, overwhelm, and anxiety related to GI and digestive disturbances by getting to the root cause and fixing it. Her main concern is her mindset around charging premium pricing. She feels like she’s always wanted to help those in need – whether they can pay what she’s worth or not – and finds herself losing confidence when charging more. Remember, people will find a way to pay for what they need – if they believe they need it and are feeling the pain of not making a change. And, the greater the investment, the more likely you are to get clients that are truly committed. It’s a win-win. Tune in to hear how Susan (and you!) can get paid what you’re worth and deliver the best results. In this episode, Susan and I discuss:

26 Feb 2018 | 63 - Are You a Polygamous Entrepreneur? | 00:17:37
Today for our solo round on the Healthpreneur Podcast I’m going to be talking about polygamous entrepreneurship. If you’re confused as to what the heck this means, I’ll explain. Polygamous entrepreneurship is something that almost every entrepreneur deals with, and it’s often referred to as the shiny objecy syndrome. As entrepreneurs, we tend to be creative people, we like to get stuff going and create new things. And while that is an inherently good trait, it can often stab us in the back. I’m going to talk about how you can learn to take a step back, avoid the rabbit holes, and focus on your business. You need to be clear on what direction you want to go with your business and develop that roadmap to get you there. If you don’t do that, you’ll end up wasting time getting distracted by all of the shiny objects out there. 31 Oct 2018 | 169 - What Your Clients Are Really Buying | 00:15:17
What’s up, guys? Welcome to the Healthpreneur podcast. Do you want to know what your clients are really buying? It’s not the service or product you’re selling, it’s the outcome. If they’re unconvinced that they’re going to get the outcome they want, they’re not going to buy. Clients buy the certainty that your outcome is going to work. To invest in you and your product, your client must feel your confidence first. If you’re uncertain about yourself, your product, or your prices, that doesn’t speak much about what you’re offering, does it? If you waver because you feel your product doesn’t work or you’re charging too much, you’ve got some things to think about. Join us on today’s show to dissect what’s holding you back and figure out what to do about it. 1:00 – 4:00 - What people are really buying 4:00 – 7:00 - Why certainty is key – especially when charging premium prices 7:00 – 9:30 - Excitement and fear when investing 9:30 – 12:00 - What’s holding you back and what to do about it 12:00 – 15:00 – Getting what you want by believing in yourself
08 Oct 2018 | 159 - 7 Lessons From My 7-Figure Health Business | 00:21:38
How’s it going, Healthpreneurs? It’s time for my weekly solo round where I give you some insider lessons based upon my own personal experience. Today, I will be sharing with you seven lessons that I’ve learned from my 7-figure business. If you’re looking to hit 7-figures, or you already have and want to stay consistent in your growth, tune in. To have a thriving business, you must know your vision. Your strategy can change – as I’ve mentioned in previous episodes – but your overall vision should remain crystal clear and constant. With that in place, the things that push you over the 6-figure threshold include interacting with your clients, selling what people want, knowing your numbers, and knowing your business model. The biggie is having a predictable sales process. Without that, your business will fall apart. The seven lessons I’ve learned from my 7-figure businesses all came from taking the wild ride that is entrepreneurship – and man, has it been fun. Yes, we learn lessons, but we’re permanently changed for the better, too. 1:00 – 4:00 - Clarify your vision and engage and interact with clients 4:00 – 7:00 - Sell what people want, give them what they need, and know your numbers 7:00 – 13:30 - Know your business model and predictable sales process 13:30 – 18:00 - Always add value, know it’ll be a challenge, and enjoy the ride 18:00 – 12:30 - How being an entrepreneur changes you: Growth, contribution, freedom

We’re super-excited for today’s episode on the Healthpreneur podcast! She is recognizing that – even though she’s a master in her field – there’s still lots of unchartered territory to discover when it comes to business. This is so common for Healthpreneurs. After all, for the most part, we’re health professionals before we become business-owners. Tijana just had her first enrollment call for her online program. Today, I am interviewing Erin Palinski on The Healthpreneur Podcast. Erin is a dietitian and diabetes educator, she has written four books, served as a consultant to multiple global brands and is a sought-after media source and keynote speaker. Now, what we’re really going to touch on in this interview is Erin’s media experience. You may remember a previous episode where I talked with my publicist, Nicole Dunn. That is how I’ve gotten a lot of my media coverage. And many people use a publicist, but Erin has done it all herself and she is absolutely crushing it in terms of media coverage. Erin is going to share with us how she was able to get on a bunch of national broadcasts and get extensive coverage in magazines without a publicist. She did it all on her own, she put in all the work and she has some amazing tips for anyone who might be thinking of doing the same. If you’re thinking about seeking out major media coverage—or any media coverage at all—this is an excellent episode to check out. Erin will share how she does her manual outreach, how to find the right people, how to interact with them and how to ultimately get on their show and have them publish your stuff. 06 Dec 2017 | 27 - How to Grow Big by Going Small with Modern-Day Superman Anthony Balduzzi | 00:40:15
Our guest today is Anthony Balduzzi—an awesome guy that I actually call “the modern-day Superman.” I met Anthony a while ago, when he was in school for his naturopathic doctorates degree and starting his online business at the same time. He holds dual degrees in nutrition and neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. Oh, and he’s also a national champion bodybuilder. 20 Feb 2019 | 217 - The 2 Choices You Have to Grow Your Business | 00:26:32
Welcome back to the Healthpreneur podcast! Today I’ve got Stephanie and Amy on the show and we’re going to talk about the two choices you have to grow your business. Yup, it’s that easy – just two choices! The first path is what I like to call the “Home Depot” path. This is where you do it all yourself. You end up spending time and money doing everything yourself and, unfortunately, because you aren’t a pro at everything, nothing gets accomplished at a profitable and sustainable level. The other, less rocky and painful path is one where you’re guided by someone who has done it before and has a system in place for you to follow. Sounds better, right? People who Home-Depot-path it start from scratch, learn by trial-and-error, and can’t excel at all the facets of running a successful business. The good news is that you don’t have to. Just take the better path. Tune in to hear more and get inspired to shift the trajectory of your business. In this episode Stephanie, Amy, and I discuss:
1:00 – 4:30 - The challenges with the “Home Depot” path 4:30 – 10:00 - Avoiding rabbit holes on the path to success 10:00 – 14:30 - Identifying those who have been down the path you want to take 14:30 – 18:30 - Where we at Healthpreneur come from 18:30 – 22:30 - The resources you get with Healthpreneur and a client example 22:30 – 26:30 - Getting results through a proven system

You’re in for a treat today, Healthpreneurs! Today, I’ve got Amy, Stephanie, and Jackie on the show and we’re going to discuss the one big choice you have that will determine your success in life and business. Does this sound big? It is. We all have the choice to either lean into fear or put our dreams on hold. Which is easier? Well, for many, it’s seems easier to pause on their dream. But is that easier, really? What pain are you feeling by not working towards your dreams? Getting to the top can be scary. Fear is uncomfortable. We get it. But the other side is so much better than where you are now. Tune in to hear us discuss the ways to lean into fear and finally see it for what it is. In this episode, Amy, Stephanie, Jackie, and I discuss:
1:00 – 5:00 - Introducing today’s topic 5:00 – 10:00 - Recognizing the pain when you don’t follow your dream 10:00 – 15:00 - An example and putting your energy all in 15:00 – 21:30 - The higher self and inner being 21:30 – 24:30 - Understanding your fear 24:30 – 30:00 - How you can achieve your goals and confidence

He is striving to shift our world away from the current “sick care system,” and is helping others to do the same through the Apeiron Academy. We discussed the challenges he faced being a doctor with zero business or marketing experience, and explored the most effective ways to get in front of your market and communicate so they’ll listen. Rachael Hunt started out in the online space 7 years ago after being diagnosed with Celiac Disease. At the time there wasn't much information or restaurants that catered to eating gluten-free. Through her experience with living a gluten free lifestyle, she created a platform called Gluten Freedom.
As Gluten Freedom gained traction, Rachael was able to quit her job and become a full time entrepreneur. Through the success of Gluten Freedom, over time it transitioned into the business and mindset coaching platform, The Freedom School.
Along her journey, Rachael discovered she had limiting beliefs which were holding her back. 13 Jul 2018 | 122 - How to "Clone" Yourself and Grow Leaders with Joe Arko | 00:38:14
Guess what, Healthpreneurs? We’ve got another super-cool guest on our show! Surprised? You shouldn’t be, because this is the Healthpreneur Podcast! Today, I’m chatting with Joe Arko, owner of a business consulting service called PT Profits and a certification program called ATS (Advanced Training System).
What’s more, Joe was awarded the 2017 International Trainer of the Year, was nominated for the 2017 Fitness Hall of Fame, and has an 8,000-square foot training facility called the Elite Performance Center. Needless to say, this guy knows his stuff, so it’s no wonder he’s leading, mentoring, and inspiring others.
Joe has put in work. He opened his training facility on his own, learned how to delegate, and scaled his business by teaching others to do what he does. He quickly learned that, if he wanted more freedom and time with his kids, he was going to need a business model that didn’t rely 100% on him. Tune in to hear how his business grew into what it is today, how he overcame the growing pains, and why he believes the “personal” needs to stay in personal training.
In this episode, Joe and I discuss:

What’s up, Healthpreneurs? Gather round, because it’s story time! Today, I’m going to share with you the story of Healthpreneur. We build a million-dollar business with a 5,000-person email list – and I’m going to share exactly how we did that. Many people think they need a big following to make big money, but that’s not the case. It definitely wasn’t the case for us! I saw the need for Healthpreneur, started it, and over the years simplified it down to the core offerings we have today. We made the decision to be the world’s leading training and coaching company for health entrepreneurs who want to start and scale high-end coaching business. And that’s what we’ve done. Hey everyone, it’s Monday and that means we have another solo round on the Healthpreneur podcast! Today I am going to be talking to you about hustle and grind—two words that are very common in our space. I’m actually going to give you a different perspective, which is that you don’t need to be hustling and grinding all the time, working 28 hours a day. In fact, it is better for your business if you don’t do that! We’re going to chat about how you can document and systemize your business in a way that other people can come in and do a lot of the work for you. Freeing up your time in this way means that you’ll have more time for the things that really matter, and I’ll get into exactly what those are in the episode. 07 Nov 2018 | 172 - Are You Selling or Being Sold? | 00:13:12
Welcome back to the Healthpreneur podcast. Today, the question is: Are you selling or being sold? See, a sale is always being made. Either someone is buying what you’re selling – or you’re buying the story they’re selling. Yikes. If someone has gone through the trouble of watching a webinar, filling out an application, and going through a funnel to speak with you on the phone, they’re obviously interested. If by the time you’re on the phone with them they’re giving excuses, they’ve created a story to sell to you – and themselves. Uncomfortable conversations need to be had. Ask why. Ask why their goal is important, why they’ve booked the call, and why they care for a result. Dig deeper. It’ll help your clients – and your business. Tune in to hear how you can craft the process so it doesn’t feel sales-y, and so you can help your clients make the next move towards their goal. 1:00 – 2:30 - How a sale is always being made 2:30 – 5:00 - Selling and why our sales process works 5:00 – 7:30 - Getting past an uncomfortable conversation with “why” 7:30 – 10:00 - Tips to sell instead of being sold 10:00 – 13:00 – Crafting the process so it doesn’t feel sales-y
11 Apr 2018 | 82 - How to Charge Premium Prices for Health Coaching with Nicholas Bayerle | 00:49:16
Today on episode 82 of the Healthpreneur Podcast we’ve got Nicholas Bayerle, CEO of the Billion Dollar Body, in the house. Nicholas is an international speaker and coach, and was rated top 30 under 30 influencers. He’s had an incredible health transformation of his own, and now helps other men reach their ultimate state of health, power, and confidence. He has coached top CEOs and offers live events and a podcast show as well.
Nicholas realized that it was easy to push health to the wayside when he launched his business, even though he was working in the health space. (Sound familiar?) When he realized that his health was directly correlated to his success, and he lacked a network of entrepreneurs to support and relate to in the process, The Billion Dollar Body was born as a solution.
Nicholas was so fun to talk to because he is ambitious, sharp, and straightforward. He cuts to the chase when it comes to sales, numbers, and providing results. We discussed how entrepreneurs think and how this mindset can be geared towards health and wellness goals. We got into his business model and how it has evolved. He even revealed a surefire way to get your clients to realize the value of your offering. All entrepreneurs can benefit greatly from the truth-bombs Nicholas drops in this episode. Tune in and enjoy!
In this episode, Nicholas and I discuss:

Today, I’m chatting with Dr. Andra Campitelli about all things entrepreneurial naturopath (because you’ve got to be both!), and some things that are not so naturopathic – like Sour Jujubes and snuggling up next to your laptop. She says it best: “Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed.”
Dr. Andi is a leading naturopath, media expert, educator, writer, and speaker, and she is well-received by clients for her practical, evidence-based, and down-to-earth care. She is the CEO, co-founder, and formulator of Plan C, a supplement produced because, well, no one likes a hangover.
Tune in to hear Dr. Andi and I discuss how she has used public speaking to grow her business and establish her brand. She gives great insight on the need to redefine what “failure” means as an entrepreneur, and gives invaluable advice for those who are feeling uninspired or who aren’t seeing the results they want in their business. This is an excellent listen for Healthpreneurs who want to boost their client’s results and their business in the process.

Today we’re talking about the importance of mastering the fundamentals. Recently we’ve had some feedback from our followers. You’ve got to follow a step-by-step process for your predictable, profitable, Perfect Client Pipeline to work. And you’ve got to lay this – the groundwork – first. Plain and simple. Listen in to find out exactly what those fundamentals are, why they’re so important, and how you can lay that foundation in your business no matter how long you’ve neglected it. Fiber doesn’t tend to get a lot of cred in the weight-loss space, and Tanya is on a mission to change that. She has written two bestselling weight-loss books on the subject, has been in private practice in Manhattan for over 20 years, and is a lecturer, consultant, spokesperson, and national media personality.
Tanya and I get into why F Factor works and why she’s so pumped up to help people improve their health while maintaining their quality of life. She reveals what catapulted her business to success and how she juggles business life with family life while still leading her kids and clients by example. What Tanya discusses is totally relatable. 09 Jul 2018 | 120 - Is Having Too Many Coaches Worse Than None? | 00:11:20
Welcome back to the Healthpreneur Podcast! You’re in luck – I’ve got another solo round just for you. Today, I want to share the epiphany I had while travelling around and training with some tennis coaches this past year. It’s this: Having too many coaches is worse than having none. Why? Because it’s frustrating, their advice always contradicts each other’s, and you just never seem to get on one path and stick to it long enough to see results. As students, we need to filter our sources down and stick to one coach and one path. As coaches, we must educate our clients on the importance of sticking to a game-plan and staying focused on our teachings despite information they may receive elsewhere. Tune in to find out what you can do RIGHT NOW to curate the information you consume and move towards your goals on a clear, effective path. 1:00 – 2:30 - My revelation while travelling and playing tennis 2:30 – 3:30 - Why having too many coaches is worse than having none 3:30 – 6:30 - Focus on one path, have one coach, stick to it, and have your clients do the same 6:30 – 8:30 - An example of the long-term game plan paying off when you stay focused 8:30 – 9:30 - What to do TODAY to get rid of contradictory and confusing sources 9:30 – 11:30 – What to do if Healthpreneur resonates with you

Welcome to episode 140 of the Healthprener podcast. Today we’re going to discuss friendly marketing with David White. What is “friendly marketing,” you say? Does there exist such a thing? The answer is yes, and there’s no one better than David to break it down for us. David hosts a podcast called The Business of Health Show and helps people start successful wellness businesses online. He is going to use The Wizard of Oz as an analogy to illustrate simple and effective friendly marketing that you can use in your business. People are often on an emotional journey when they’re trying to get healthy, so the delivery method of your message is key. Like Dorothy, your clients want to get to their desired destination – but they need useful (but incomplete) tools to do so. Click your red slippers and tune in to learn why the information must be incomplete and to get some awesome tips for improving your marketing strategy. In this episode, David and I discuss:

16 May 2018 | 97-How Alicia Streger Turned a Tiny Newspaper Ad Into a Thriving Fitness Business | 00:36:27
Welcome, Healthpreneurs! I’m excited to bring an incredible interview to you today with the one and only Alicia Streger. Alicia built and sold a successful fitness business where she learned the nitty-gritty about one-on-one coaching, systems, and processes. Sick of trading dollars for hours, her business evolved to a group training model so she could live a healthier and happier life.
Today, Alicia helps fitness pros build their businesses with strategies and tactics that get real results. With her tried and true systems, Alicia helps her clients live a life they love with time and financial freedom. When you hear Alicia, you can tell she’s fired up, passionate, and absolutely LOVING what she does.
Alicia and I get into when she realized one-on-one coaching wasn’t going to work long-term. Many of us can relate to the stress and overwhelm (not to mention lack of workouts and diet!) that she experienced when she was training individual clients all day long. She realized that she needed to scale and create processes that would allow the business to flourish without her constant attention. This episode will greatly benefit any Healthpreneurs looking to grow their business while maintaining the love and passion behind their mission. Tune in and enjoy!

03 Sep 2018 | 144 - How to Charge What You’re Worth | 00:23:53
In this solo episode, I tackle the tough issue of how to charge what you’re really worth. I know this is important because I have a lot of clients that struggle with it. Most of what I talk about today is aimed at coaching, but it can apply to you even if you’re selling a product or information rather than coaching services. Think about this: A Bugatti or a Rolls Royce is always way more expensive than other cars, right? This is not just because they are good-quality items, but because there is always a segment of the market that wants the best. They want the best experience, the best results, more certainty, more personalized attention. So if you have an awesome protein powder that everyone else is charging $40 for—charge $80. Why? When you charge at a premium, customers assume what you’re offering is premium! They assume it’s the best. And it should be—you have to offer a very high-quality product. If you want to impact people, you can either go the route of magnitude, or the route of impact. Either sell cheaply to thousands, or sell to far fewer people for a lot more money. In the health and fitness space, most of us love working with people and want to change their lives. It’s so much more rewarding to enroll one person in your coaching program for $5,000 than to sell a book for $10—to 500 people. 3:00 – 7:00 – Do your best to not to compare yourself to anybody else. 7:00 – 15:00 – Know the value of what you’re offering. 15:00 – 21:00 – Raise your standards and think bigger. 21:00 – 24:00 – Imagine your life with fewer clients paying you more!

It’s another great day on the Healthpreneur Podcast! Today I’m speaking with Dr. Lori Shemek, a best-selling author, radio show host, and weight loss expert. She holds a doctorate in Psychology, she is a certified Nutritional Consultant, and she’s also a certified Life Coach.
Early in her career, Lori was a counselor. But when she realized how big an impact diet shifts made on her client’s health, she pursued something greater that married the two. Lori has made it her mission to help as many people as possible and spread the word about inflammation and its effects on overall health.

18 Sep 2019 | 274 - How to Find Your Perfect Clients Online | 00:42:21
21 Feb 2018 | 61 - How Dr. Spencer Nadolsky Defied The Odds to Become an In-Demand Online Doctor | 00:37:58
Today we’re getting into episode 61 of the Healthprenuer Podcast. Over 60 episodes, can you believe that? It seems like we started this podcast just the other day! Well, there are more to come where those 60 came from. Today I am chatting with Dr. Spencer Nadolsky, who is a young physician—fresh out of med school—and he’s going to talk about his journey from brick-and-mortar to an online practice (with a lot of lessons learned thrown in). He is a board certified family medicine physician, but his medical doctrine is lifestyle-as-medicine—he tries to stay away from pharmaceuticals by having his patients lead healthy lifestyles. 16 Feb 2018 | 59 - How to Build a Successful Physical Product Business with Kevin Gianni | 00:40:24
Today on the Healthpreneur podcast we’re going to jump into the ins and outs of the product-based business world with Kevin Gianni. If you’ve never heard of Kevin, he is the head visionary, CEO, and co-founder of Annmarie Skin Care, a hugely successful all-natural skin care line. Kevin transitioned from a virtual business to a product-based business after traveling around in a “Kale Whale”...tune in to find out what that’s all about. In many ways, Kevin isn’t your traditional entrepreneur; he’s got an interesting stance on business plans, goals, and expectations that may surprise you. Despite having no experience in the world of product sales, Kevin has learned by experience and mistakes; even having kids has changed the way he conducts business. If you’re an entrepreneur looking to get your nose into a product business, this episode will really hit home and provide you with some priceless wisdom. If you find yourself getting bored and wanting to start something new, you’ll find some much needed gems that’ll steer you in the right direction. There are some things that we often (painfully) learn by experience, and we’re going to talk about some ways that you can avoid some of these pain points for yourself. I related to Kevin in so many ways during this episode, and I think you will, too. In this episode, Kevin and I discuss:
