The quick answer - there is no right way.

I list all the ways I have charged my clients and negotiated payment terms.

This is not an episode about WHAT the charge (we discuss that on a case by case basis in The Freelance Ads Club) but HOW to charge.

Charging structures, what to be flexible on and how what to expect from different types of client.

What you charge and how you charge (and get paid) is totally up to you, it's your business.

Today has a few firsts; my first ever guest on the podcast, my guest Lucy's first ever podcast, first time for tech gremlins! And I'm still getting over how depressing is it that no one ever checks my ID anymore whatever the age restrictions now are!

This week I am talking all about quizzes, and I've invited a special guest, The Quiz Queen herself Kylie Lang to share some home truths on how much goes into a successful quiz.

I first met Kylie as a client, and I saw first-hand the power that ads have, when they promote quizzes for business.  

More and more businesses are investigating using quizzes as a way to build their email lists, and also generate sales, but I'm also hearing that businesses are requesting ads managers to build quizzes for them, which isn't strictly an ad manager's job. 

(But we do have many strings to our bows as we all know.)

Today, I'm talking about the secret no one told me about niching.  And it's probably not what you expect.

Now, the thing that has prompted me to talk about this today is finding my first-ever business card for White Bee Digital. It honestly looks so amateur now, but it's a good lesson. Everyone starts somewhere. And the thing that struck me most was not my old DIY branding, which I knocked up on Canva, which looks horrendous. But that I was calling myself. Aggie Meroni, Digital Marketing Consultant (and that was only 2 and half years ago).

Hello, welcome to episode 15 of the freelance Ads Club Podcast. Today I'm joined by Rachael Nichols, who is the Founder, Artistic Director and generally all-round amazing designer who's behind my website.  

Today we're going to be talking about what you need to think about when you're briefing a designer with your ad creative. It's become very apparent, that creative drives ad performance.  And now more than ever, designers are becoming more and more involved in the actual ad creatives.  

As freelancers, some of us are in charge of the ad creative for our clients, but others work with designers who create the ads to a design brief. I've had so many questions about what I include in my design briefs and how I get over any miscommunications, so I thought, why not just bring in an expert, a designer that I've worked with in the past to talk this all through? One day you're at capacity, the next day, 3 of your clients give notice on the same day and you're suddenly in panic mode about replacing them.

One of my most frequently asked questions is how to win clients from cold outreach.

It's not something I do so, I called the only person I know who has grown his agency quickly in a year by learning the skills to implement a cold outreach strategy effectively.

In this episode, Charlie explains how his dropshipping side hustle, while playing football in Australia, became his new obsession. Soon after discovering eCommerce, it became Charlie's passion and he quit football. The rest is history.
