12 Jul 2024 | S3 Ep97: Robust Recovery and Infinite Possibilities: Introducing YOUR BREAKAWAKE | 00:36:00
The day has finally come! Lisa and I have spent months and months working with designers and developers to ideate, explore, expand, and ultimately create our new website: www.yourbreakawake.com. Not to fear - www.thecureforchronicpain.com and www.nicolesachs.com will both take you there as well. The new site is not only here to offer you everything we teach with better technology and more ease (although it does!) but it also takes chronic pain recovery to the next level. We will still be showing up with every single thing you need to live in the solution of MindBody medicine, but we will also be broadening our support to you.
05 Jul 2024 | S3 Ep95: Heightened Anxiety, Radical Acceptance, and Managing Symptom Flares Member Q&A | 01:01:46
As always, a heart-opening and eye-opening Q&A with the wonderful, brave warriors of our membership community. Just like you, they are walking the path of this work, and when they have questions it is such a great opportunity to share the answers with all of you. Today on the pod we discuss heightened anxiety when the nervous system is stuck in fight or flight, managing symptom flare as they ebb and flow with the vicissitudes of life, pelvic pain, gastritis, and more. We seem to keep landing on the theme of radical acceptance, so that is the topic of our next all-community member zoom. I hope the summer is treating you well. If you are a little lost or needing my support and the power of community, join us at www.yourbreakawake.com!
28 Jun 2024 | S3 Ep94: Insomnia, Numbness, and Waiting for Things to Change | 00:33:46
We get A LOT of emails and messages about insomnia. So when we were perusing past episodes to find the most important content to bring forth during this busy summer season, this one caught our eye. It's so easy, without the right awareness, to get caught in the unconscious loop of feeling numb, and "waiting" for things to change before doing this or that to help yourself. We put things off all the time, and the anxiety and rumination this engenders leads to TONS of insomnia. Today we dive into all of it, led by a Speakpipe from a member of our global community. If insomnia or feeling numb to life are things that affect you, this will be a great episode to reset your perspective and give you a little boost to JUST KEEP SWIMMING. Sending you lots of love as we round out our week at Omega! xoxo n.
21 Jun 2024 | S3 Ep96: Overcoming Hip Pain and Severe IBS with TMS Therapist Sean Hershey | 01:05:47
The first day I saw Sean's face was on a group post to our private JournalSpeak FB community. He was excited and proud that he could do the splits again (I couldn't do them with all the JournalSpeak in the world) and he wanted to share. I was immediately taken by Sean's lovely energy and dedication to the work. We were able to meet and hug it out last summer at Omega and he will be returning this weekend! I'm so excited to finally speak with him on the pod. Join us for a conversation that will most definitely help you to drop into your own TMS work more deeply and meaningfully. I hope I see your face this coming week at Omega! If you are the last minute type, click below to join us! June 23-28th, 2024.
14 Jun 2024 | S3 Ep92: Thriving in the Middle of This Stressful Life - Amazing, Vulnerable Q&A with our Membership Community | 01:03:14
Each time we meet as a community, I am blown away by the honesty, vulnerability, kindness, wisdom, and support this group provides one another. I love to share space with them and answer their questions. Today was an especially emotional and deep session, and I'm proud of us for getting to some really tough and probing questions about stress, holding ourselves with self-compassion during backslides, and walking through this work with strength and resolve. Join us for the questions that turn out to be everyone's questions, and answers from me that will help you stay the course. Sending love! xo n.
07 Jun 2024 | S3 Ep90: Healing Into Our 70's and Beyond - Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Migraines with Jan | 00:51:42
I first saw Jan's name in the oldest TMS forum around - The TMS Wiki. She was such a robust contributor, they called her a Beloved Grand Eagle. Over the years, I made note of Jan's wise and thoughtful contributions. She often re-posted this podcast and offered advice on how it could help others! When I reached out to Jan to share her story, she enthusiastically agreed. Her journey with TMS is long and varied, and includes many full successes. Her current dance is with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), and she is navigating it with all of her TMS experience. Join us for an important conversation about healing well into our later decades and the ways in which we can marry the best that the medical model and MindBody medicine have to offer. XO! n.

31 May 2024 | S3 Ep93: The Emotional Root Of Chronic Conditions & How To Become Pain Free with Elizabeth Endres | 01:05:21
Elizabeth Endres, Wellness influencer and TMS warrior herself, and I sat down for an interview this week, and I loved it so much I decided to post it to our platform as well! Enjoy this conversation which hits all the hight points of my story, Elizabeth's experience with my work, and her excellent questions which get to the root of what TMS is all about. If you are new to this work (or are just looking for community with which to connect as you're doing it) our LIVE and in person Omega Retreat is only a few weeks away! Click here to join us June 23-28th for a transformative experience for body, mind, and spirit. XO! n.

24 May 2024 | S3 Ep91: Underneath Boredom Is Anger (and Other Tales of Repressed Emotions) | 00:21:46
Recently we had the most enlightening conversation in our Membership Community. Lisa and I were leading our monthly community-wide meeting, and one of our members shared about how triggered she was when she was bored. She recounted growing up with 30-40 cousins, and she was the youngest. Every time they had family events, she had to sit there for hours, not being seen, heard, or cared about. She was just too young to be part of the discussion. Now, as a grown woman in her 60's, this lovely soul was so triggered by being "bored" that she developed pain in her body during these times! I knew there was more to this story. Join me today for a one-on-one hang where I explain why underneath boredom is anger, and shed light on the many ways we unconsciously avoid our big feelings.
17 May 2024 | S3 Ep89: Freedom From Back Pain and the Power of Community with Jaime | 00:52:52
I met Jaime Henle at a weekend retreat I ran back in 2022 in North Carolina. Jaime had no idea what she was getting into, walking into a room with the hope of, "a relaxing weekend with meditation." Well, she did get that to some extent, but she got a LOT more. Jaime had been suffering from chronic back pain since her first daughter was born, and in retrospect, many other TMS symptoms over the years. She had never heard of me, but after only a couple hours and a single JournalSpeak session, Jaime knew she was onto something big. Join us for a wonderful story of recovery, expansion, and community. Jaime even wrote a children's book about her experience - Why Does my Body Hurt? A Children’s guide to the Mind-Body Connection, and how Repressed Emotions Lead to Physical Pain. Check it out at www.lulu.com! xoxo n.
10 May 2024 | S3 Ep88: Teen Sports Injuries and a JournalSpeak Success Story with Kate and Catherine | 00:31:19
Our teen ambassador Kate is back! After our first podcast on Teens Teaching Teens this past winter (Season 3, Episode 74), parents from all over the country wrote to us about their teens' struggles with chronic issues. Kate and I started working to connect these kids with the mindset and work they needed to heal. Catherine was one of these kids - A D1 athlete who is off to college to play Lacrosse. At the time, she was suffering in chronic knee pain, even with a clean MRI. After meeting with us and dedicating herself to a JournalSpeak practice, Catherine is back on the field and no longer in pain. Truly, it has changed her life. It's been fantastic working with a teen ambassador. Kate will be joining us at OMEGA! If there is a teen in your life who would benefit from a deep dive immersion into this work, join us at the OMEGA INSTITUTE JUNE 23-28.
03 May 2024 | S3 Ep87: Michael Porter, Jr. is FREE of Chronic Back Pain and Playing the Best Basketball of his Life | 00:41:35
I met NBA Denver Nugget's Forward Michael Porter, Jr. at a rather low point in his life. He had been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease while still in his teens, and by the time we crossed paths he'd had three back surgeries that didn't cure his pain. In fact, in the Summer of 2023 when we came together, he was in a flare so bad he was struggling to walk up the stairs. Thankfully for Mike, he is blessed with an open mind and a curious nature. He knew after surgery #3 that he had to find another way to look at his pain, or risk losing his career. After discovering Dr. Sarno's work, he quickly came across mine. Michael's life has never been the same.
26 Apr 2024 | S3 Ep86: Embodiment Through Somatic Tracking with Monica Lia | 00:50:37
I met Monica when I received the loveliest email about her pain journey. Monica had been suffering with chronic pain and symptoms for quite some time, and through her understanding of MindBody medicine and doing my work, she was thriving. As so often happens, Monica used the jumping off point of her own recovery to change her professional life as well. After training in somatic tracking and pain reprocessing, Monica now helps others move through their pain using the theories and methods we are always talking about on this pod! She's also an admin on my larger JournalSpeak online community (link below) and coming to spend time with us this summer at The Omega Institute June 23-28th to put all of this work into motion. I CANNOT WAIT! Today on the pod we talk about why somatic tracking works, and how to add it to your toolkit. So much great stuff here. Enjoy. XOOX n.
19 Apr 2024 | S3 Ep85: Tearful Success Stories and Questions on Health Anxiety, Vertigo, and more! | 01:03:22
This month's Q&A in our Membership Community was SO inspiring and insightful. Each month this fellowship gets together to hang out in an intimate group and ask me anything about their TMS/symptoms/diagnoses/worries/fears and whatever else. This month was so GOOD. Join us for great info on topics such as health anxiety, neck and shoulder pain, vertigo, pelvic pain, classic Sarno back pain, and so much more. There are few things more powerful than being in community when you are doing this work. Today is a profound example. A couple pretty badass success stories too!
12 Apr 2024 | S3 Ep81: A Sarno OG! Back Pain, Migraines, and Persistent Congestion/Allergies with Karen | 00:43:23
How great to connect with another Sarno OG! Karen, like me, sat across from Dr. Sarno in his iconic office at The Rusk Center for Rehabilitation at NYU/Langone in New York City back in the day when he was still in practice. His confident and unapologetic style was the inspiration for everything I do and teach, and Karen is right there with me. I have been hearing from Karen for years, as although Sarno was her intro to this work, she credits my contributions for taking her to the next level of wellness. Today we talk about her inspiring story, as well as dive into a bit of a Real Time Heal around her persistent symptoms of allergies and nasal congestion. Over the years (and in several interviews here on the pod) I've heard many people recount having terrible allergies only to connect them to TMS and have them resolve completely! It's such good stuff. Enjoy this powerful conversation! XO n.
06 Apr 2024 | S3 Ep84: OOPS NO POD, POD! Also, Kick-Starting Progress, Belief & Brain Science, and Me Being Unprepared | 00:16:58
Shit! Sometimes all the best planning is not the best after all. I was traveling for two weeks and made a technical misstep - hence, no pod yesterday. Heartened by the many of you who reached out and asked, "Are you okay?? Where are you?" I recorded a last minute brain dump to offer you a little boost on this lovely Saturday. Much love! -n.

29 Mar 2024 | S3 Ep82: Lifelong IBS, Depression, and Adult ADHD with Alice | 00:51:04
Alice has had a diagnosis of IBS for as long as she can remember. Even as a toddler she was know to have been suffering, and grew up scheduling her whole life with her IBS in mind. As she grew up and dealt with tremendous grief in her 20's, losing both of her parents, Alice was confronted with clinical depression as well. Her understanding of TMS and my work have changed her life. Today, Alice is thriving in work and at home as a result of it. Join us for a conversation that will enlighten and awaken you to places you might need to look within yourself. There is so much life out there once you realize the origin of your chronic suffering. Sending much love! xoxo n.
22 Mar 2024 | S3 Ep80: Severe Panic Attacks, Pain, and Outpatient Treatment with Bri | 00:42:21
Bri really went through it. Her myriad TMS symptoms cascaded into panic attacks so severe that she had to put her entire life on hold (including her marriage), take her kids, and move in with her mother to be taken care of. This is not an unusual story. As I always remind you, although TMS is completely curable with my methods, the pain IS NOT in your head. You are not dramatic, overly sensitive, or making it up. Bri was sidelined pretty severely before learning about Dr. Sarno, and then me. On that day, her life changed. Walk with us as we share an incredible and inspiring story of total chronic pain recovery. And Bri has some pretty great advice for all of us at the end.
15 Mar 2024 | S3 Ep83: The Brain Science Behind Chronic Illness - Gigi's Story | 01:01:01
When I first met Gigi Cockell last year, I had no idea how impactful she would be on my life. I thought she would be yet another precious success story that I could highlight here on the pod, but she quickly became much more. Gigi has her Master's in Biology (she did her studies at Oxford and it shows) and is one of the best out there is explaining the brain science behind TMS. Soon Gigi was teaching beside Lisa and me at The Omega Institute (she'll be back this coming summer June 23-28!) and joining TCFCP Team as our in-house scientific expert.
08 Mar 2024 | S3 Ep79: Live Q&A - Grief, Acute Injury, Dealing with People Who Won't Change, and More! | 00:37:31
Today in my Membership Community we had a great convo on so many TMS topics. It is the best best to be with this incredible group and get to know them - their struggles and their wins. On our call today we talked a lot about, "What hurts versus what hurts worse." This is a big theme when it comes to all areas of acceptance in recovery from chronic nervous system dysregulation (which causes most chronic illness we see in the world!) Join us for this and other stirring discussions on grief, acute injury and how to keep it from getting chronic, dealing with people who won't change, inner child work, and many other topics.
01 Mar 2024 | S3 Ep78: What Does it REALLY Mean to Have Self-Compassion - And How TF Do I Do It? | 00:21:50
I get so many questions about how to *actually* find a way into a self-compassion practice, and why it's so important. Today on the pod I give you my best thinking on the topic, how to pause and become aware, and why is essential to have self-compassion at top of mind. Until we disrupt our habitual thinking and consider the way we carry on in life, we are in danger of repeating old patterns again and again with no conscious knowledge. I am here to make sure you stay awake - it's the only place where healing is possible. Let me know what you think!

23 Feb 2024 | S3 Ep77: Debilitating Back Pain Revealed as Nervous System Dysregulation with Evie | 01:00:25
Evie came on the pod originally last year. Her story is one that inspired me deeply, as she recognized and overcame her chronic pain so young. As we open ourselves to the challenge of teaching younger and younger people, it is so important to realize that young and old - we are all the same when we wake up to this life changing knowledge and do the work to rid ourselves of chronic conditions. Sending big love to you as you walk this path for yourself! xoxo n.
16 Feb 2024 | S3 Ep76: Severe Nerve Pain & the Role of Safety and Mindset in Healing | 00:29:28
I never miss a chance to use my life and my process to help you. The best teaching tool I have is my own lived experience. Today I share an unexpected and painful symptom imperative I encountered: powerful nerve pain shooting from my inner wrist up my forearm. I paused immediately and began to embody the mindset that I teach you here - reminding myself it was TMS and that I was safe - and then proceeded to do the work with patience and kindness for myself. I think you will get many nuggets of truth and inspiration in this story. I hope you can apply them to your own journey. MUCH LOVE TO YOU! xoxo n.
09 Feb 2024 | S3 Ep75: OCD, Burning Mouth, and Pelvic Pain with Laura | 00:52:11
Laura first came upon this work when she was in the depths of pelvic pain and desperate for a solution. As she moved through her process and embraced the mindset, JournalSpeak, and self-compassion necessary to reset her nervous system and heal, she had a pretty profound realization: The burning mouth and OCD that had both been completely traumatic and devastating in her past were also TMS! She was just trapped in the loop of the Symptom Imperative. Once Laura saw this pattern in hindsight, she was able to quickly circumvent this phenomenon after her pelvic pain left and anxiety/OCD offered her a hand. "No thanks!" Laura said, and her life has never been the same. Join us for a brave and enlightening conversation about the complex depths of OCD, the terror of burning mouth, and the struggle of pelvic pain only to reveal the same solution living beneath them all. Much love to you! xo n.

26 Jan 2024 | S3 Ep73: Migraines and Psoriasis GONE - Now What About Anxiety? | 00:32:29
We love getting Speakpipes from our community! Today we highlight one from Suzie in the UK who asks about what to do when physical symptoms morph into anxiety by way of the Symptom Imperative. Great question! This is such a common and natural occurrence, and it's a great opportunity to discuss exactly what's going on here, and what we can do to "wear it loosely" and manage this process with grace. I am THRILLED that Suzie's Migraines and Psoriasis are gone. That is something to really celebrate. Let's never miss an opportunity to marvel at this incredible work and the power it has to heal us. Now to deal with this pesky anxiety - join us for a great reminder that we are safer than we think. Let's engage the tools to convince our nervous systems of such! Much love to all - n. xoxo
19 Jan 2024 | S3 Ep72: Internal Family Systems with Phil PART TWO | 01:17:59
WOW. What a great episode. Phil de la Haye is back with his in-depth teaching of Internal Family Systems (IFS). Today we follow up on our previous episode to really deepen your understanding of this amazing transformation work. I am planning to do it myself. Although there are no bad parts (!) there are a lot of really protective aspects of our personalities that contribute greatly to TMS. Join us today as we discuss the many ways to know ourselves, and walk through concrete exercises that really move the needle. xoxo n.
12 Jan 2024 | S3 Ep71: Pre-grieving, Energetic Boundaries, The Symptom Imperative and more - Membership Q&A | 01:04:59
Today on the pod we feature the second of our series - Membership Q&A Sessions. The participants in this month's Q&A generously allowed me to make our session today available to you. This is SUCH a great call with topics like Pre-grieving, Energetic Boundaries, The Symptom Imperative, Intuition, Whether or Not to Get Surgery and so much more. The group members asked thought-provoking questions and I loved answering them. If you would like to be part of this amazing community it's easy to do - just go to my website www.thecureforchronicpain.com and scroll down a bit. You'll see the button to join. Maybe next month you will be the one getting your personal questions answered! Much, much love to all of you as you embrace this New Year. Don't forget to take care of yourself. xoxo n.
05 Jan 2024 | S3 Ep70: Nervous System Dysregulation and Bladder Symptoms - Fight/Flight Vs. TMS | 00:30:54
Happy New Year! Today on the pod we focus on a Speakpipe from Kate. Kate has been dealing with bladder urgency and frequency, and notices that her symptoms are far fewer when there is a "real" emergency going on - times of high stress tend to take the place of her physical issues. This is such a common occurrence and so normal. It all comes back to the brain science. Today we talk about it all - why you are sometimes spared your symptoms during times of actual emergency, and why they come rushing back (Spoiler: Your nervous system doesn't know the difference between real and perceived danger.) So happy to be with you as we welcome 2024 with all its glory and struggle. I'm here for all of it. Much love xoxo n.
29 Dec 2023 | S3 Ep69: From Debilitating Neuropathy to Symptom Free with Scarlett | 00:34:59
Happy everything! While I'm spending some time with family over the holiday season, here is a great convo I had last year with Scarlett, who is completely symptom free after living with debilitating neuropathy. Sending big love to everyone walking this path! XOOX n.
22 Dec 2023 | S3 Ep68: Exploring Functional Medicine and The Gut Microbiome | 00:38:39
Today on the podcast we are hearing from Erin, a cancer survivor who is curious as to how we can square the need to eat healthily and regulate our gut microbiomes with this mind/body work. Erin's symptoms are stuck and she is not sure where to go, so I am here to weigh in (no pun intended lol). I have found over years of practice, writing, and teaching, that there is no system more powerful and bossy than the brain/nervous system combo, and without addressing it first, nothing will move. Let's get into it - would love to hear your thoughts. Speakpipe me!
15 Dec 2023 | S3 Ep67: Your Questions Answered - Shame, Acceptance, IBS, How To JournalSpeak and more! | 00:59:56
My loves! Such a treat today. Every month my private membership community does a Q&A hangout with me. It's casual, loving, and fun, and we spend an hour together - they ask about whatever is in their minds and hearts, and I answer! Today they agreed to do a lovely generous thing - to allow our recorded session to be a gift to our global community. The questions are always excellent, and I'm grateful they were willing to share the results of this awesome session with all of you. Join us for discussions around acceptance, shame, IBS, when to go to the doctor/hospital, how to JournalSpeak and create the most impactful practice, and so much more! If you would like to be part of this amazing community it's easy to do - just go to me website www.thecureforchronicpain.com and scroll down a bit. You'll see the button to join. Much, much love to all of you are you navigate the holidays. Don't forget to take care of yourself. xoxo n.
08 Dec 2023 | S3 Ep66: Brain Fog, Chronic Fatigue, and Long Covid are Curable | 01:14:24
I can't overstate how many emails I get about Long Covid and the most alarming symptoms associated with it - Brain fog and Chronic Fatigue. No case exemplifies these concerns like Gary's. When this episode first aired nearly one year ago, Gary was overwhelmed with gratitude for having TOTALLY recovered from Long Covid with these two symptoms and others having wreaked havoc on his life. Today, (as of our correspondence last week) he is still 100% well. If you haven't heard this one, or even if you simply haven't heard it in a while, tune in for Gary's astonishing story. If there's any episode to stoke belief in, and dedication to, the process it's this one. No matter who you are or however this finds you, allow Gary to be an inspiration to commit to this work and see yourself through. This is your life, and you are worth it. xoxo all best! -n.
01 Dec 2023 | S3 Ep65: The MindScience of JournalSpeak | 00:16:11
Hello loves, and happy holiday season of insanity! I hope you are hanging in there amidst all the chaos. I am doing my best - at times hanging on by the coattails of the ride - but doing a pretty good job of being present. I wish the same for you. In the meantime, I am hard at work on finishing my manuscript and editing chapters of my new book. This piece, The MindScience of JournalSpeak, struck me as something that everyone could use as they do their best to practice living within the mindset of this work. It serves as a reminder of the science behind it all in simple language you can use to talk to yourself. Today, I bring it to the podcast so all can hear! Remember if you need more personal attention, I have a Membership Community where we are doing this together every day. It's my greatest joy watching you transform. If you want to join us, go to www.thecureforchronicpain.com and scroll down a touch - you'll see the button to join. Much love to all! XOXO n.
24 Nov 2023 | S3 Ep64: Self-Regulation, Emotional Expression, & Emotional Repression | 00:32:13
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO THOSE WHO CELEBRATE! It's the time of year we gather to be with family and friends. To some, this is welcome and joyful, to others stressful and triggering. Wherever you find yourself, this episode is for you. There is a fine line between self-regulating and keeping your emotions at bay and repressing them. As humans, we are constantly in a battle between authenticity and attachment. It's so important to be awake and aware of this reality so you are best able to find a place for your natural, human, big feelings. Let's talk about all of it, and per usual, live in the solution of how to best handle challenging times, conversations, and experiences. Sending big love to all! xoxo n.
17 Nov 2023 | S3 Ep61: The Brain Science Behind Allergies with Misha Blaise | 00:51:29
What a fantastic convo with Misha Blaise. She eliminated chronic sinusitis and allergies, and it made an enormous impact on her life. Though a move to escape her environment, Misha realized that this work was an inside job, and boy did she do it. She "gets it" big time, and opened me to engage in a powerful conversation about the brain science and the reasons we are sick. Such great stuff here - a must listen for sure! xoxo n.

10 Nov 2023 | S3 Ep63: The CORE Work: Why You Hurt, What To Do | 00:41:01
Every so often on this podcast, I do a deep dive into the theories of TMS as founded by Dr. John Sarno, the brain science behind chronic conditions of many kinds, and the work necessary to alleviate it. I believe that a primer once in a while is key in centering each of us in the correct mindset to heal. Join me as we discuss my own story, the ways in which it applies to you and your pain and anxiety, and how to take this life changing work and do it for yourself. It was a great pleasure to reconnect and be reminded of what a profound affect Omega has on people's lives. It's just the gift that keeps on giving! 27 Oct 2023 | S3 Ep62: Generational Trauma Vs. Generational Health | 00:27:47
There is so much talk of generational trauma. I know this subject well, as my father was the child of Holocaust survivors, and he grew up in Europe hiding from the post war Nazi influence. But what of generational health? What of passing on healing to our children. Sounds good, right? Let's talk about it today. Let's talk about why we unknowingly pass on our pain and hurt, and how we can open ourselves to awareness and pass on a much different story. With all the pain in the world right now, it's great to live in the solution space every change we get. Much love to you! xoxo n.

20 Oct 2023 | S3 Ep56: From the "Long Covid Strangle" to Complete Fitness with Rachel | 00:51:53
I have been interviewing people on this podcast for a long time, and every story of a human life changed is so moving to me. Long covid came onto the scene soon after Covid itself, and there are millions sidelined from it. News article after new article chronicles the daily struggle of people suffering, with rarely a solution in sight. I have been adamant from the start that Long Covid is TMS - plain and simple - and that my work could reverse it. Today we have Rachel, one of the many hundreds of emails I receive detailing stunning Long Covid success stories come to life. If you are suffering with this affliction or know anyone who is, please give yourself the gift of being curious. This is the way out of so many jails within which we sit. Join us for a triumphant story from the depths of a very frightening situation. xoxo n.

13 Oct 2023 | S3 Ep59: The Power of the Pause: Response vs. Reaction | 00:24:36
This is a tough week to produce a podcast. We struggled long and hard on how I could express our feelings around what is going on in the Middle East. It's difficult to find the right words when tensions are so high, but impossible to say nothing. Thank you to my incredible producer Lisa Eisenpresser who was able to help formulate my heart into a communication that felt real and true. I hope wherever this finds you and whomever you are, you are able to use a little bit of wisdom on pausing and finding your true responses to life. We are human, we are here, and we are in it together. I send all my love to the suffering and to the scared. Take care of yourself today. xo n.

06 Oct 2023 | S3 Ep55: A Lifetime of TMS Healed at Omega: Anorexia, IBS, Asthma, TMJ and more with Kimberley | 00:29:49
Kimberley knew nothing about this work when she arrived at The Omega Institute for our retreat last June. She had recently given birth to her 4th child, and she saw the retreat as a "spa vacation" to take a break from her life. Boy, was she hit with a reality check when she arrived at a no joke week of transformational hard work! BUT. This was the beginning of a new life for Kimberley. Having suffered from extreme chronic conditions and diagnoses for a lifetime, Kimberley found herself at a crossroads: Do the work even though it feels hard and scary, or live the way she had been living. She chose to take back her power and her life. Join us for a powerful testimony to this work and the insane ability for the body to completely reset when moved from fight or flight to rest and repair. Kimberley is living a life of limitless possibilities, and she will be back at Omega next year for more! Enjoy this uplifting and instructive story of a life changed. XOXO n.

29 Sep 2023 | S3 Ep58: Anxiety, Panic & Insomnia: When "Fight or Flight" Itself is the Symptom Imperative | 00:39:37
The Symptom Imperative (SI) is a concept that bears repeating, as it's so key to embrace and understand. There are few that walk this path who have not experienced it. The SI is when TMS symptoms move around, from one part of the body to the next, trying to get your attention and "protect" you from the repressed emotional reservoir that is overflowing and sending your nervous system into dysregulation. Today on the pod we feature a Speakpipe from Eva. She utilized this work to recover completely from Long Covid and other symptoms only to be stuck in the muck with a very wily one: a feeling of constant Fight or Flight. She is looking for some guidance on how to move past this one which gives me a great opportunity to delve more deeply into the phenomenon of the SI and how to best defuse it. So excited always when I get the chance to hammer home a central tenet of TMS. Join us! XOOX n.

22 Sep 2023 | S3 Ep53: REAL TIME HEAL - TMJ, Migraines, Self-Care, and Boundaries with Katie | 00:59:38
When Katie first joined our Membership Community last fall, she has already been through the gamut of TMS symptoms since childhood. Raised in a family affected by alcoholism, Katie as the oldest child was parentified from a young age. Although she was stricken with pretty serious TMS growing up, Katie always showed up with a brave face. At home, nothing was discussed. At school, she shined. This, of course, can't last forever - no human can take it. Join us today for a profound and impactful RTH where Katie shares her story thus far, and then we delve together into the places that might be keeping her stuck. I love these opportunities to move the needle on healing, and I feel confident that Katie will continue to ascend up her own mountains. Enjoy! XOOX n.
15 Sep 2023 | S3 Ep57: Lessons on Intuition, Shame, and Speaking Your Truth Via a Cross Country Move | 00:40:25
Today on the pod Lisa and discuss the lessons learned from my move across country. Although the idea for this pod began as a (rageful) PSA on moving companies and the ugly scammy business they are, it quickly evolved into a conversation about why we ignore red flags, allow others to shame us, and lose the power to use our voices. Let's take a moment today to reflect on how our old programming may be standing in the way of our authenticity, and take the steps to mindfully change that. Love to you all! xo N & L
08 Sep 2023 | S3 Ep54: How "Being on Your Best Behavior" Could Be Making You Sick with Elise Loehnen | 01:26:17
When Lisa and I first came across Elise Loehnen's most recent work, On Our Best Behavior: The Seven Deadly Sins and the Price Women Pay to be Good, we were taken by the many parallels between Elise's explanation of women's emotional repression and our own work with the TMS community. Elise has written a masterful book that deconstructs the many reasons that women struggle to be heard, both by others and themselves. The synergy between Elise's work and ours is profound. Join us as we chat all together (Lisa and I in our dual interviewing debut!) on how “Niceness”, “Compliance”, “People Pleasing”, “Conflict Avoidance”, and “Sublimated and Unprocessed Anger” are correlated with Cancer, ALS, autoimmune illnesses, and many more. Plus, we discuss Elise's own experience with TMS in the form of chronic hyperventilation and jaw pain. We were thrilled to welcome Elise onto the pod. Enjoy, and go pick up her book. It's incredible. 01 Sep 2023 | S3 Ep52: Tackling the Fear of Long Covid with Lisa Eisenpresser (!) | 00:42:24
As this new post pandemic world rolls along, we are living now in the age of Long Covid. So many people are suffering, and it's so important to discuss as often as possible the ways in which we can keep our fears at bay, recognizing long covid for what it is: a reaction of the mindbody system to stress and long-term sustained fight or flight. In other words, Long Covid is TMS. Today we have the first of many - a conversation with my partner and producer Lisa Eisenpresser about what it feels like to walk the world with the mindset of fear versus the mindset of TMS and safety. I am so excited and happy to present Lisa's podcast debut with the promise of many more! Also, we feature a speakpipe from Sean, an Omega alum and warrior among us walking the TMS walk. This is an episode for all of us as we continue to navigate this post pandemic terrain. Enjoy! xoxox n.
25 Aug 2023 | S3 Ep50: Overcoming Intense Fibromyalgia and Nerve Pain with Catherine Oxenberg | 01:08:42
When HBO's The Vow revealed that a horrible cult leader was abusing women, I was riveted to every episode. But the most captivating thing about this documentary series for me was the strength and fortitude of a mother desperately seeking to rescue her beloved daughter. Catherine and India Oxenberg's story was one that gripped me the entire time, and I was rooting for them vehemently - mother to mother - energetically. Cut to several months later: I get a DM on instagram from Catherine. The moment India was safe, Catherine fell horribly ill with excruciating nerve pain. This is so typical of TMS! She received many diagnoses, and no medication was touching the symptoms. She found mindbody work, mercifully, and began her healing journey. We've kept in touch over the years, and Catherine has emerged from this harrowing journey totally chronic pain free! I am thrilled to share her story here with you today. xoxo n.

18 Aug 2023 | S3 Ep51: How to Cultivate Belief in TMS (Trusting Yourself) | 00:47:27
Times of transition, change, and upheaval are breeding grounds for TMS. Today on the podcast, we talk a little about how I'm handling that in my own life, and one of the most important concepts to continue to practice in these times: Belief in this process and TMS. Today we are taking on the concept of belief, trusting yourself, "Knowing" from the seat of your consciousness, and so much more. As a redux of one the most popular episodes of last summer, we share a story from Michelle, a therapist and mother of two who is struggling to believe that this work can "work" for her. Her lovely vulnerability gives us all a gift of this essential conversation. I look forward to sharing it with you, and hearing from you about how you felt about it. Sending big love! xoxo n.
11 Aug 2023 | S3 Ep49: Transforming Flexibility and Pain on the Yoga Mat with Brooke | 00:36:10
Brooke has been a yogi for years, and co-owns two incredible yoga studios. Even after practicing yoga up to 6 times a week, Brooke's flexibility and pain on the mat never changed. She resolved herself to the fact that this was simply, "What her body was like." After coming across my JournalSpeak practice and teachings, Brooke decided to take a chance and see what was constricting her within. She was SHOCKED to see her body physically change as she did her JS practice throughout the pandemic. Now Brooke is limber and pain-free on the mat, but that's not all. Her relationships are more authentic and deeper than ever before. Join us for an uplifting conversation about the amazing ways our bodies can change when we release the blockages in our hearts and minds. XOOX n.
04 Aug 2023 | S3 Ep48: Raye Zaragoza is FREE of Tinnitus, Vertigo, and Migraines | 00:48:15
When I first met Raye in 2019, she was struggling so badly with tinnitus, vertigo, and migraines that her tour manager had to put garbage cans just off stage at every show in case she had to exit the stage to be sick. Raye had an attack of vertigo that lasted, unrelenting, for 3 months! We did a RTH (Real Time Heal) on the pod and we delved deeply into Raye's upbringing, personal struggles, and epiphany that childhood sickness equaled love and care from her parents. Today we follow up with Raye and she's a shining, brilliant success! Her wisdom and understanding of this work are striking, and she is living a life of complete freedom. Join us for an eye-opening and inspiring conversation, and stay for the INCREDIBLE unplanned serenade we receive! Much love from both of us. xxooxx n.
28 Jul 2023 | S3 Ep47: How Past Trauma Affects Our Relationships | 00:27:41
Trauma-informed recovery is key in helping people move past chronic pain and illness. Today on the pod we look at our lives through the lens of relationship and trauma, and the ways in which we might be replaying patterns in order to "fix" what has been hurtful in the past. It's incredible the changes that become possible when we are clear as to why we do things, and are able to pause and stay curious. I share a story about my own life which, two years later, is entirely transformed. I love the way we are "plastic" just like our brains - always able to change and grow. Join us! xoxo n.
21 Jul 2023 | S3 Ep45: Chronic Lyme, Mold Toxicity, Severe IBS, and more with Suzanne | 01:02:49
Wow. Wow is all I can say when I think about Suzanne's story and her stunning recovery. I first head Suzanne's voice on a Speakpipe where she was reaching out to express her joy and gratitude for being recovered and to offer to share with the world her harrowing journey. I reached back out enthusiastically - everyone needs to hear what Suzanne is saying about how dark it can be, how hopeful it can get, the twists and turns in the path, and much more. I'm thrilled to share Suzanne with you today. My wish for you is a bit of light on a dark day. If anyone has that to give, it's Suzanne. Enjoy this raw, warm, and life-changing conversation. XOOX n.

14 Jul 2023 | S3 Ep46: What To DO When People Don't Like the New, Healthy You - Boundaries and More with Nathalie | 00:20:40
As Dr. Sarno always said, you do NOT need to change your life to be out of chronic pain. As we also acknowledge here, sometimes when you know yourself more deeply, it's hard to keep showing up as people-pleasing, codependent, and boundary-less. Today on the pod we feature a Speakpipe from Nathalie. After 2 horrible years of long covid, she considers herself totally recovered. But... not everyone likes the way she is showing up now, self-possessed and knowing who she is. Let's talk about how to handle such situations, why it matters to stay in action and do what's next for you no matter how other people protest, and how to meet them with love and curiosity. So much good stuff here! xoxo n.
07 Jul 2023 | S3 Ep44: Finding Our Authentic Voice (and humor) When Life is HARD with Caitlin Murray | 00:43:14
I came across Caitlin's account on Instagram one day and I was like, "OMG this woman is living, breathing JournalSpeak!" Caitlin's oldest son had cancer as a small child, and after living through that, she just had no more fucks to give. Caitlin realized that speaking her truth freed others, and hopped online to live out loud. On her Instagram account @bigtimeadulting, Caitlin brings humor and humanness to this ride we call parenting, and life. I love her message of self-forgiveness in the spaces where we could so easily judge ourselves. Join us for a fun (and off-color) convo about setting ourselves free just a bit more than we think we can. Enjoy! xoxo n.
30 Jun 2023 | S3 Ep43: Life With and Without the Baggage of Chronic Stress and Anxiety | 00:26:24
Anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and worry are natural and normal and many of us have them in spades. But let's consider, today, what it would be like to live each day doing the work necessary to quiet them. This is what I have been doing for the past year, and the result are pretty extraordinary. Today on this solo pod, I share with you the things that have been contributing to the potential for TONS of anxiety and stress in my life, and the ways in which this work has quelled them. I love to hop on and share my life's lessons with you. I hope it gives you some perspective on your own struggles! much love xoxox n.
23 Jun 2023 | S3 Ep42: Total Recovery From Autoimmune Disease and SO Much More with Mouse | 01:05:38
Mouse was a private client of mine many moons ago. When we met, she was in a wheelchair. Her doctors had her on a bevy of medications for autoimmune diseases like Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis (they weren't sure which one she had because she had ALL the markers for both), and her plantar fasciitis was so severe she couldn't walk. And that was just the beginning - Mouse has every physical problem known to man. Cut to today: Mouse plays 18 holes of golf, swims laps for an hour a day, and take her 3-4 mile walks with endless gratitude. Her message is one of hard work and belief, and her life is most certainly the result. You will love Mouse's trademark humor and her advice: Stop taking yourself so seriously! She's also quick to point out that she used to be as serious as a heart attack about controlling pretty much everything. I love her to death and I'm so happy to share her with you today. Much love! 16 Jun 2023 | S3 Ep41: The Kind of Gratitude that Affects Your Nervous System | 00:18:45
Gratitude is a verb. We need to learn how to live it. The nervous system is desperate for our input of calm, peace, and well being. The kind of gratitude we discuss today on the pod is the kind that brings us there. The reason we suffer ubiquitously with chronic issues is that we are in long-term, sustained fight/flight/freeze/fawn. Actively practicing gratitude is one way to circumvent this posture and allow for optimal healing. Join me today as I share a wonderful revelatory Speakpipe from Jody, and invite every one of us to remember where we have been, and where we are today. xoxox big love, n.

09 Jun 2023 | S3 Ep39: REAL TIME HEAL - When Emotions Turn Into Pain: Migraines and Neck Pain with Heather | 01:00:09
Heather was in a "bad mood" for months, even years. She had taken a job that was way too much pressure, and wasn't practicing self-care. One day on vacation, the occasional migraine that used to be nothing to Heather came on like a storm. She experienced numbness and pain to the point where she worried she was having a stroke! This led to a chronic situation of which I am VERY familiar. Once she found this podcast, Heather was able to begin her healing journey, but she has questions about Inner Child Work and other concepts that would help her move forward. That's what I'm here for! Join us for an inspiring and educational RTH which ends (joyfully) in gratitude for the pain and the doors it has opened between Heather and herself. You might find this odd, but actually it is the place that most people land: gratitude. This is a human life, and we are here to LIVE IT fully and without limits. That is what this work offers you. Enjoy this amazing conversation. XOOX n.

02 Jun 2023 | S3 Ep40: RELATIONSHIPS and the Way They Affect Our Pain | 00:50:39
The hardest work in life is around relationships. They bring out the best but also the worst in us, as they challenge us to constantly look at ourselves, our roles, and our triggers. Join us today as we revisit this most important topic, and consider how the ways in which we deal with our own parents, children, partners, and others can affect our pain and our ability to heal. Once we get a clear view on how we are operating, we have so much more power than we realize to pause and find flexibility in our responses to life. No one wants to be a reacting machine! Let's look at this very important topic together. Join us! XOOX n.

26 May 2023 | S3 Ep37: Moving from Actual Fight/Flight/Freeze to Chronic Migraines with Kristin | 00:48:33
Sometimes when we are actually in crisis, we are free of chronic symptoms because the brain and the nervous system are actively engaged in saving our own lives or someone else's. When the crisis is alleviated, however, it is then that many people come down with a chronic condition that holds the space for that long term panic. This is precisely what happened to Kristin. A busy schoolteacher and mom, Kristin was blindsided with a migraine disorder after her firstborn son emerged from years of struggle. She had no idea that her pain was tied to her long term heightened state of fear and anxiety. Join us today as we walk this path with Kristin from panic, to confusion, to willingness, to epiphany. And then to total body health and freedom! Kirstin is chronic pain free today, and so excited to help others. I love to bring these stories to you. Much love! xoxo n.
19 May 2023 | S3 Ep38: How and Why Big Unacceptable Feelings are Channeled Through the Body | 00:31:52
The number one question I get is always around the brain and nervous system and WHY WHY WHY it somehow feels "safer" to be sick than to feel the darkest of our human emotions. Today we revisit an episode from the Summer Series '22 where we explore just that. We are more than willing to lament to friends that we are "annoyed", "bummed", or "freaked out." But we are less likely to talk about being enraged, grieving, or terrified. This is sometimes because we are embarrassed, but more likely because these feelings operate under the cover of darkness in our subconscious minds. The nervous system feels them though, and chronic illness is a response in the form of protection. So much to understand here, and repetition is key for learning. Let's revisit this important topic, together. Much love! xoxo n.
12 May 2023 | S3 Ep35: Internal Family Systems, TMS, and JournalSpeak with Phil De La Haye | 00:57:36
What a fun and great learning experience to sit down with Phil De La Haye. Phil is an Internal Family Systems practitioner with a particular interest in the mindbody connection and chronic symptoms. He recovered from chronic pain himself, and JournalSpeak was a very important tool in his recovery. He’s passionate about how IFS can support the JournalSpeak process through building deep connection with all the different parts of ourselves, even the ones that seem challenging or harmful on the surface. Today I was in the hot seat (which Phil made sure was nice and cool) and I got to be the client as he engaged me in an IFS exercise with my parts! So interesting and enlightening. Enjoy this episode, and click the show notes if you want to learn more about Phil's practice and IFS. XOOX n.

05 May 2023 | S3 Ep36: Triggers, Why They Happen, and How We Get Free | 00:30:03
Being triggered is different than being uncomfortable or annoyed. When we are truly triggered, we are brought to a place in the past when we were traumatized in some way (Big or little t) and we lose ability to control our reactions. Although triggers are normal and nothing to be ashamed of, the more awareness we practice around them the more freedom we have to affect our responses to life. No one wants to be a reacting machine. We want space to have control over the one thing we have control over in this life: our own behavior. This starts by being aware of our triggers, why we have them, and what to do in order to unmask and see them. Join me for a great discussion on triggers, partially first aired last summer as part of the summer series. I am learning new things about myself all the time, and I Invite you to do the same. 28 Apr 2023 | S3 Ep33: The Neuroscience of Chronic Pain: POTS, Interstitial Cystitis, Fibro, CFS and more with Gigi | 00:58:55
Gigi is a brilliant TMS mind who lived through 10 years of chronic illness with no idea what was wrong with her. Diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome at the age of 14, it never made sense to Gigi that her myriad symptoms were always being blamed on this one genetic anomaly. As she grew, so did her symptoms. She was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, POTS, and others. Her worst symptoms of all were bladder pain and urgency, leading to a diagnosis of Interstitial Cystitis and eventually leaving her bedridden at the age of 21. Luckily, Gigi's mother and best advocate found my podcast in a late night desperate search, and that's where the magic begins! Gigi has her Master's in Biology from Oxford, and we do a wonderful deep dive into what it means to struggle against new ideas when we are so imbued in the Western Medical Model and what it means to heal incredibly once those new ideas are embraced. SO MUCH GOOD STUFF HERE! Join us. XOOX
21 Apr 2023 | S3 Ep34: A Deep Dive into Migraines with Abigail | 00:27:34
Migraines, as with all TMS equivalents, are a tool of the brain and nervous system to distract and protect us from that which feels impossible to handle - our daily stressors and repressed emotional worlds. This is the way TMS works. Although I wholeheartedly believe that migraines are interchangeable with any TMS symptom (back pain, fibromyalgia, pelvic pain, IBS, etc.), sometimes a symptom becomes so ubiquitous that it deserves some specific attention. Migraines are so prevalent right now, and I want to create understanding and community in a way that allows people to feel truly safe to heal. I am doing a one time Migraine Deep Dive Virtual Retreat on 6/3 at 12 noon EST (recorded for all to keep). Click this link to join us, or go to my website and click on the retreats tab! Some TMS stories are so textbook they make me want to laugh and cry at the same time. This is true for Shivani's chronic pain journey. She had TMS in childhood (didn't we all?) and then it moved from pelvic issues to back pain to anxiety and back! The great news is that Shivani is pain free today, and the better news is that she is a Psychiatric nurse and will make such a difference in this world carrying the message. I'm thrilled to share her story with you today. XOOX n.

07 Apr 2023 | S3 Ep32: Recovery From Grief and Anger with Shannon (Ascension) | 00:42:07
In the fall, Lisa and I did an episode on Ascension, and the concept that recovery is not a straight line - it has twists and turns and can seem, at times, like you are not making progress. But this is not true! Recovery is indeed a journey of concentric circles up a mountain, and if you know how to pay attention, you will always be able to identify your growth. We recently heard back on Speakpipe from Shannon (who was originally featured in the Ascension episode) with a profound update on her recovery. Today we dive into that, and revisit the concept of Ascension and the power you gain from embracing the truth in its message. Sending big love! xo n.

31 Mar 2023 | S3 Ep28: Recovery From Debilitating Back Pain with Evie | 01:00:25
Evie's life was planned before she was old enough to have a real opinion. A child prodigy, she began boarding school for professional violin when she was 9. Although she loved playing her instrument, by the time she was 15 she was debilitated in back pain with no idea why. At first (as so many of us do) she thought the origin of her pain was poor posture or muscle weakness. After years of failed treatments and exercises, she was forced to leave conservatory, and her journey of self-discovery began. At the young age of 20, Evie is so wise. She has done the work to heal herself completely and lives a limitless life, but she is quick to say that this work is about so much more than getting out of pain. Evie's message is one every one of us needs to hear. Join us for an inspiring and insightful conversation. XO

10 Mar 2023 | S3 Ep26: Severe Long Covid Recovery with Gary | 01:09:31
Gary's Long Covid really terrified him. But if we are being honest, he was terrified even before he got covid in the first place - OF LONG COVID. This is so natural and typical of what happens in human beings. We are the only animals able to anticipate pain and suffering in our futures, (pre-grieving, catastrophizing) and our nervous systems are paying attention for these consciously communicated danger signals. When Gary did indeed come down with serious symptoms that are associated with the Long Covid conversation, he plummeted. At his lowest, his cognitive and physical limitations kept him totally disabled. Join us for a profound conversation of human despair, the light that exists in each of us that can't be extinguished, and Gary's incredible rise out of fear and darkness. So grateful for all of you around the world who share your lives and your stories with me. XOXO n.

04 Mar 2023 | S3 Ep27: A Deep Dive Into The Symptom Imperative | 00:43:04
Lisa and I are always seeking to answer the biggest questions being pondered in our communities, and one that always comes up is around, "Is my symptom TMS and how it is that so many symptoms are?!" I know these are not the messages we grew up with as kids - that headaches and backaches and nerve pain and stomach issues care all essentially the same thing, but in the TMS world, we know that it's true. The pain is NOT in your head, but the solution is not in your body. The concept of the symptom imperative is very important in this discussion. This past summer we did the Summer Series, and the symptom imperative episode was one of the most impactful. Today we bring it back for a reprise, to answer many of these frequently asked questions. Enjoy! XOXO n.
24 Feb 2023 | S3 Ep25: Neuropathy, Back Pain, Failed Surgery, and AMAZING Success with Scarlett | 00:36:16
Scarlett was so distraught when she found this work. She was in her 40's, using a walker to get around, unable to climb stairs, and a failed back surgery left her with severe neuropathy and totally bereft. After finding my work through her research on Dr. Sarno, Scarlett dove in and took my online course Freedom From Chronic Pain. It began her journey, and by the time we met at a small retreat I did in DE over 5 years ago, she was able to climb the stairs and give me a hug! She went on to attend my first ever OMEGA retreat that summer, and her life has changed in so many ways. I love Scarlett's story, and her message of "living the work" is one we all need to hear. I'm so joyful to share with interview with you today! XOOX n.
17 Feb 2023 | S3 Ep24: ME! Sleep Anxiety and Living the Work | 00:26:17
Today on the podcast I bring to you a very personal episode about my own life, and what it means to live the work. Lately my TMS has been showing up as sleep anxiety, and it makes a lot of sense! It's an old wound (lots of childhood trauma about sleep) and I am an inherently anxious person. But when it really began to affect my life, I decided to really re-dedicate myself to my JournalSpeak practice, and everything is easing and changing. I want the same for you! Join me for some authentic sharing. Hopefully I will inspire you to go into your most genuine places and live in the solution with me. Much, much love! XO n.

Today, Jennifer joins me to discuss her Long Covid, which took this avid athlete and triathlete down to the ground. I have been helping people with Long Covid all around the world since its inception, and I want everyone on the planet to know that this work is an option for them. Join us as we discuss brain fog, fatigue, muscle weakness, heart palpitations, and all the ways that Long Covid can keep us scared and stuck. Thank you, Jennifer for your willingness and bravery to help others with your story! XOXO n.
03 Feb 2023 | S3 Ep22: How To "Wear It Loosely" - Migraine, Body Image, and Control with Samantha | 00:35:39
Today we tackle an impactful and important topic - learning to greet this life with curiosity instead of fear: "wearing it loosely" instead of seeking to control. THIS IS NOT EASY, but it is everything. We as humans are such inherent controllers, wanting to be "right" or "done" or "okay". Life just doesn't work that way. Join me today with Samantha, a member of our community who sent a Speakpipe about weight, body imagine, and migraines, but ultimately was talking about how to find that final, right answer. I turn this around to show her (and all of you) that there is no right answer, only the gentle seeking within ourselves that lowers the reservoir and brings our nervous systems into rest and repair. Join us for this affirming conversation. XOXO n.
27 Jan 2023 | S3 Ep21: Anxiety as the Symptom Imperative | 00:35:14
Today on the pod we are talking about Anxiety, one of the favorite topics of this community. When I say fave of course I know you don't WANT to have to talk about anxiety, but alas, we are such an anxious bunch. Here's why: Anxiety and Chronic Pain/Illness/Symptoms/Syndromes/Diagnoses are interchangeable. Anxiety is one of the most common symptom imperatives, and so often I hear from you guys that the pain has abated, but the anxiety is way up. Let's talk about it all today, understand anxiety for what it is (not disordered, but human and normal) and learn to live in the solution. XOXO n.
20 Jan 2023 | S3 Ep20: A Life Free of Carpal Tunnel, Back Pain, IBS, Anxiety and more with Marian | 00:59:20
Marian is back! My first ever podcast guest 4 years ago, Marian has come so far and has sage wisdom for you all about how to live a chronic pain free life. This does not mean that things are perfect. It means that she has a toolkit and knows how to use it. We cover all the best practices (including how two crazies like us can meditate), and we talk about her whole journey and what it's revealed about her trauma (capital and small T), and her ability to express it in healthy ways. So much good stuff here! Enjoy XOOX n.
13 Jan 2023 | S3 Ep19: Am I "Journaling My Way Into Depression?" with Magid | 00:30:42
So often we feel pulled in two directions with this work: How can I unearth and reckon with the things in my life that are causing my body to channel pain, and also hold space for a positive mindset and openness to ease? A common misconception, I have found in my many years of doing and teaching this work, is that either we can't have both, or we are hurting ourselves by feeling so much heavy stuff. Today on the pod, Magid puts words to this in his thoughtful Speakpipe, and I'm here to answer! Central to this discussion is the fact that if we don't take the necessary steps on this journey, however uncomfortable, our bodies will be unable to release the pain and symptoms of illness. Today we talk about it all. Thank you to Magid and all of you that send me your questions and reflections on Speakpipe. Please keep them coming! Much love to you today. XO n.
06 Jan 2023 | S3 Ep18: REAL TIME HEAL (and Success Story) - Autoimmune Disease, Migraine, Hip Pain, and Severe IBS with Emma | 01:09:21

30 Dec 2022 | S3 Ep17: A New Year's Message: Belief, The Human Condition, Healing from Chronic Pain | 00:22:46
I've learned this year that we need to get lost in order to be found. The obstacles in the path are the path. Our challenging parts of life (family, work, self-worth, relationships) are our sacred spiritual practices. Happily, all of this hard work also results in the cessation of chronic pain. What a joy it is for me to be on this trip with you. I love that I can use my own life as an example and a lesson - the best and most effective elements of a message are the most personal. I know what I live, and I can teach it best. Today we touch upon the lessons I've gleaned from 2022, and what I wish for you in 2023. We have so much to do together! Sending big love for peace and presence in the coming year. XOOX n.
23 Dec 2022 | S3 Ep16: Anxiety, Pre-Grieving, and a Lesson in Presence | 00:38:31
Today as we inhabit The Holidays 2022, I bring to you a revisit of an incredibly impactful concept: Pre-grieving and the attendant anxiety and lack of presence it brings. Almost a year after it originally aired, this episode holds particular significance considering what has transpired, and the lessons therein. Join me for an important reboot of a topic that plagues so many of us, and the mindset necessary to release us from its grips. I wish you Everything Good, Bright, and Hopeful. Much love, xoxo n.
16 Dec 2022 | S3 Ep15: Insomnia, Numbness, and Waiting For Things To Be Easier To Be Happy | 00:34:12
We received a Speakpipe that really influenced us and got us thinking. Dana piped in to say that she was experiencing insomnia and numbness after leaving her job to stay home with her kids, and also knew somewhere inside she was stuck - that her deeper worry and projection was that when she got "done" with these parts of her life, then she might actually do something that made her feel fulfilled. It's a tale as old as time - waiting to be done with the hard parts and hoping that THEN we will be able to do what we really want to do. Yet (as you're probably gleaning) it's a trap. The only moment we have is this one, and everything that is important and meaningful is happening right now. It's a tough one to embrace when we are walking around asleep (which we all are until we're not), but once you wake up like Dana is doing, it's helpful to have sone guidance about what to do next. That's what we're doing today! Join us. XOOX n.
09 Dec 2022 | S3 Ep14: REAL TIME HEAL (and success story!) - TMJ, Vertigo, and Anxiety with Grace | 01:01:43
I heard from Grace long before I met her at Omega. She was deeply struggling, and reached out for help. The only thing I could advise her (and could advise anyone) was to take advantage of the resources I offer, and do her best to do the work. Well, boy did she! Not only did Grace do the work, she came to Omega and bravely and boldly lived her journey out loud. Grace's story has lots of peaks and valleys, but more than anything it has striking success. Join us for a great success RTH, and walk away with amazing insights and advice for your own life. Also, remember that Omega is early this year - June 25-30th! Sign up now if you want the best accommodations. It's such a perfect holiday gift for oneself; the gift to change your life the way Grace has changed her own. Much love! XOXO n.

02 Dec 2022 | S3 Ep13: The Gut Microbiome, Elimination Diets, and Chronic IBS | 00:37:59
Hello loves! Sending big love as we kick off the often complicated holiday season. XOOX n.
25 Nov 2022 | S3 Ep12: Life Beyond Fibromyalgia - Pregnancy and Other Miracles with Claire | 00:52:53
When I got Claire's email, I was so filled with gratitude that I knew our interview had to be our Thanksgiving episode. Claire spent a lifetime (and I mean a lifetime) battling TMS in myriad forms, never knowing that there was a solution that connected all of her symptoms. Plantar fasciitis, fibromyalgia, and finally larynx and voice disorders that brought her to her knees - Claire became ready to look outside of the medical model for answers. When she landed on this podcast, she knew she was at the precipice of something that was going to change her life. And now... Claire is pregnant! Not only is her pain COMPLETELY GONE, but she is poised to be such a wonderful mother now that she won't be parenting through the lens of her own issues. It's such a gift, one that I've lived personally. Enjoy this inspiring conversation full of so much helpful guidance. Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! XOOX n.
18 Nov 2022 | S3 Ep11: Prepping for the Holiday Season - HOW TO TALK ABOUT TMS, MINDBODY MEDICINE, CHRONIC PAIN | 00:37:45
As we enter into what some refer to as "hurricane season" - the weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year's - let's spend some time talking about the MindBody journey and getting the support that lifts us. When we need to express ourselves, it can be helpful to prepare our thoughts. So often this MindBody work is misinterpreted, and once we begin it can feel daunting to share about it in a satisfying way. We discuss it all here! Let's arm ourselves with calm confidence and inner peace. That's the best posture for healing. XOOX n.
11 Nov 2022 | S3 Ep10: The Conflict, Fear, and Confusion in Awakening (F*ck You, Nicole!) | 00:36:54
Yes, we have been called to wake up. Yes, we were desperate to leave chronic pain and conditions in the rearview. And yes, this is fraught with anger, frustration, fear, confusion, and conflict. But here we are, and this is the road to everything you've ever wanted. I promise. It just takes what it takes to get there. Today on the pod, Christine's inspired Speakpipe (read: F*ck you, Nicole!) sends us on an essential journey into our relationships, how they shift and change as we awaken, and how to handle the roller coaster of emotions. We may not choose to awaken, but we can find our footing as we navigate the long hallway that stretches out before us. Join us! XOOX n.
04 Nov 2022 | S3 Ep9: How To Do the Work/Why To Do the Work - Your Speakpipe Questions Answered | 00:28:03
I love when your very own voices give me the chance to explain things that everyone needs to know. These concepts bear repeating again and again, reminding us always how to stick with the work alongside a mindset of healing. Today we take two Speakpipe questions from Alanna and Raquel, and tackle the "back to basics" concepts of how to do this work "right" and why exactly we are a society suffering in chronic pain in the first place. Use this pod as a little shot in the arm (excuse the vaccine pun in our current societal moment!) to help keep you chugging along, doing this work, and transforming your life.
28 Oct 2022 | S3 Ep8: Ascension - Awareness, Change, Growth, Revelation | 00:33:33
If you've been with me for a while, you have definitely heard me evoke the image of life's journey being analogous to climbing a mountain. Not a slog from the bottom to the top in a straight line - an ascension in concentric circles, around it like a corkscrew. This beautiful image is one we are building out today. I know how hard it is to feel like you're not making enough progress, or you're "right back where you started," but it is almost never true. What is truth is this: You are growing, changing, ascending. You are, perhaps, in a similar feeling place... but you are not in the same place as before. Let's take a closer look at this mountain of your life, the meaning you are giving to the fits and starts of the journey, and the ways in which we can all awaken to our progress, allowing the Nervous System to relax into rest and repair - the ultimate posture of healing. 21 Oct 2022 | S3 Ep7: Deconstructing Anger and Grief with Lisa Rinna | 01:09:37
Lisa Rinna has been on your screen for years, but rarely has the controversy over her anger been so great. We became acquainted when Lisa reached out for help with the grief of losing her mother, a beacon of strength and support in her life. Once she began a JournalSpeak practice, Lisa began to feel the relief of connection with authenticity, which was made manifest right in front of the camera when she broke down during an angry exchange on the show.

14 Oct 2022 | S3 Ep6: Inner Child Deep Dive: Triggers, Nervous System Reactions, Anger, Fear, Shame | 00:36:47
Over the years in private practice, there was a theme that recurred again and again - "I can't stand the way I react to life sometimes, but I can't seem to change it!" I have found people frustrated with their seeming inability to affect transformation in their own lives. It came to me, little by slowly and working with my own journey in tandem, that we were all being led around by the neck by 5 year olds! Inner children were running the show, not knowing how and why they were always so afraid, upset, anxious and triggered. Today on the pod we talk about why this is, what we can do to address it, and I share an opportunity with you to work with me LIVE virtually to jump start this work in a real way. Join us! XOOX n.

07 Oct 2022 | S3 Ep5: What Parts of You Have You Banished? Anxiety, Grief, Chronic Pain, Loss. | 00:32:46
Hello my loves. Today we revisit a beautiful story which is a metaphor for healing, and take a look at how I've changed in the past two years since I first told it. Tara Brach, the amazing meditation teacher and sage guide, tells us to gather the parts of us we've needed to banish, and "let them belong". Today we discuss this process, and the gentle way we can hold ourselves accountable in the warmth of our own fires. Join us!

30 Sep 2022 | S3 Ep4: You Are Not Alone: Community, The 28 Day Challenge, IBS, Back Pain, Tinnitus, Migraine, and more. | 00:52:34
Today we conclude our official 28 day challenge with a selection of your own voices, and acknowledgment of all stages of the journey. I answer your questions, weigh in on my own 28 days of JS and meditation, and highlight several of you who are walking this path with grace and tenacity. I'm so proud of you! Remember, one of the most important things you can realize in this journey is that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Allow this episode to remind you of this. Lots of love to you. xoxo n.

23 Sep 2022 | S3 Ep3: RTH - Where Are They Now?? Endometriosis, Hip Pain, Shoulder Pain, Infertility and Surgery with Brooke | 01:09:58
Wow. What an episode this was to produce. So much emotion comes up for me when I walk this path with you guys, hearing your stories and witnessing your growth. Many, many of you have written and Speakpiped to me asking for a "Where are they now?" themed episode on my Real Time Heals... and I have answered. Brooke came to me after 5 pelvic and thoracic surgeries to treat endometriosis and hip pain that was thought to be connected to it, and she was still suffering with symptoms moving and morphing. We did a RTH and she showed me her heart, her willingness, her vulnerability, and her awesome strength. Today we revisit Brooke over 2 years later, discuss her journey, and sit together as we explore what it's like to live this human life. MUCH LOVE! xo, n.

16 Sep 2022 | S3 Ep2: An Episode to Jump Start Your Motivation - Back Pain, Shoulder Pain, Success | 00:36:36
Hello my podcast family! Today on the pod we are focusing on things to celebrate. This is hard work, but it yields great rewards. We have received some beautiful success stories on Speakpipe, and today I'm highlighting one that really lit us up. Kathryn had migraines so badly, she had only ONE OR TWO DAYS A MONTH without searing pain. She tried everything. Now, after doing the work, she's essentially pain free. Her story and my story of progress since my RTH are the perfect lead-in to a "best of" segment from the podcast Miracle Stories that aired during Covid. It's so much good stuff!! Join us for a little boost to keep the work going. You can do this! XOOX n.

09 Sep 2022 | S3 Ep1: REAL TIME HEAL: me. Upper back pain, Shoulder Pain, Mindbody Medicine | 00:26:55
Welcome to the wild and wacky fall, where anything goes. This is a travel week, so I was thinking of bringing on a "best of" RTH, which many of you have requested on Speakpipe, but the universe had other plans. I got walloped this week by a bout of TMS I haven't felt in many years, and true to my nature, I decided to bring it onto the pod to share my process with you. Never knew I would be the subject of one of my own Real Time Heals! I hope this episode gives you some solid guidance, tips, and tools for your own journey. We are just human here, people. Let's keep doing our best. :))) n.
02 Sep 2022 | S2 Ep12: Summer Series 11 - TMS Themes Deep Dive: Resistance, Relationships, Mental and Physical Health | 00:40:26
The summer may be coming to an end, but don't fret - we are only getting started! So much exciting stuff is ahead of us, and in the meantime I wanted to take an episode and look back at all we've experienced together these last few months. The summer was packed with rich content, and myriad themes that will resonate through all the work we do together. As my team and I move forward and continue to develop what's next on the podcast, let's never lose sight of the core messages that keep us in our authentic power, with as much agency as possible to affect our mental and physical health. Plus, we are starting a community 28-day-challenge! Me too... Let's dive deep. I so appreciate that we are on this ride together. xoxo n.

This week we have a special guest interviewer! Lisa Schlosberg, LMSW has been working with me for the last 5 years, and is one of my dream team of instructors who travels with me to teach this work and carry this message. Lisa also has her own specialty when it comes to MindBody work: disordered eating, body image struggles, weight issues, and related topics. She is getting ready to do her first solo retreat in San Diego, September 30-Oct 2nd, and I will be one of her presenters! In this interview, Lisa and I discuss the way we work together, how the MindBody connection informs so much of the way we feel and function, and even touch into my own personal "Body Journey". Such a great convo - join us! XOOX n.
19 Aug 2022 | S2 Ep10: Summer Series 10 - The Call of Mortality: Life, Death, Healing. | 00:42:55
As we round out the Summer Series, it seems fitting to tackle this vast topic which contributes to so much TMS - the fact that everything in life comes to an end one way or another. The fascinating thing about mortality, is that it's not just about one's lifespan. It's also about all of our little moments, and the fleeting nature of human existence. Similar to the compulsion of the brain and the nervous system to "protect" us from our big feelings with our pain, our attention is so easily ripped away from the things we most value. The question is.. why?? So much good stuff here! Join us as we dive deep into the reasons we run from the impermanent, and the solutions that live in staying... |
