Jace and Rocky talk about the DC books for the week of April 20, 2021. Justice League and Flash give us the second issues of those story arcs and still feel like they are setting things up for their respective storylines. Nightwing #79 is also a second issue and although not as weighty as the first, still has more emotion and weight than the two previously mentioned titles. Catwoman had the guys split, Jace also felt like this was a setup issue although very well done. Rocky really liked it, appreciating it's technical aspects as well as it's compelling narrative and characterizations. Both of the guys felt that Superman Red & Blue was just ok while wondering if the limited palate is actually hurting some of the stories. Finally Batman Fortnite Zeropoint was an interesting start that the guys enjoyed despite their limited knowledge of the ubiquitous video game. We sure hope it pulls in some Fortnite players and converts them into comic readers.

Jace chats with writer Ed Brisson about his return to creator-owned content with his Original Graphic Novel Catch & Release. The campaign for the project is running on Kickstarter until December 16, 2020

Jace chats with the creative team behind Top Cow's latest hit, Syphon. They talk about the origins of the series and how Mohsen brought Patrick aboard with Jeffrey joining a bit later. Also the themes and BIG ideas of the book are talked about, including the idea that helping others isn't always as altruistic or noble as it first may seem. There is tons of talk about the setting & the grittiness of New York City as the setting. Also the team reveals that they would love to do more arcs of Syphon, especially focusing on others who have wielded the power throughout history. Jace and Rocky spotlight their favorite DC Comics titles for the week of November 27, 2024. The second issue of Absolute Wonder Woman builds upon the debut with the introduction of Steve Trevor and even bigger monsters. Justice League Unlimited launches with an incredbiel balance of huge scope and intimate moments. Detective Comics has Bruce turning to Superman for advice on whether to attempt to turn back the clock. Superman is confronted by Doomsday, but we get more questions that answers about the future version of the villain and a glimpse of Superman possible loving control is also very interesting for what it might mean. Finally, Best of the Best, Black Canary offeres incredible character work and art from the creative team while delving into very interesting themes of legacy and what it means to be family.

Jace and Manny chat about the latest Star Wars Bounty Hunters Prelude. It's the final week before the All In initiative starts and the feeling of lame duck stories continues as several titles limp to the end of the current story arcs. Jace and Rocky close out 2024 with the final week of indie titles. We get three books from ghost Machine with Geiger providing a bit of a Hulk vibe and Redcoat showing that Simon Pure is a character you can tell any type of story with. Hornsby & Halo's second issue shows that the story is much bigger than we first thought and Rocky chooses it as his book of the week. We get some spectacular art in Violator as it provides some alternate history. Speaking of history, Dust to Dust is set during the Great Depression with a serial killer loose in a small town. Batman '89 returns with it's engaging story but lateness has robbed the title of it's momentum. Gotham By Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age explodes with expansion as the world being crafted has hints of the familiar but with all new concepts.

Geoff Johns has recruited some of the best creators in the industry to tell the stories they want to tell with characters they are invested in and own. Spawn realizes he should have heeded Cogliostor's warning and not wasted time confronting Jason Wynn. He no longer appears human and is distraught over losing his chance to connect with Wanda. Thinking he can patch things up with Terry, he finds that he may have ruined that relationship as well, leaving the hellspawn as isolated as ever. Just when it seems things can't get worse, he also seems to be sickening and losing control of his powers.

Jace chats with up and coming writer Kathryn Gailey about her current campaign for The Architect and The Conduit. It's a dual narrative telling the story of two distinct settings one rooted in magic and nature and the other a sci-fi marvel. Kathryn has teamed up with veteran DC artist Brian Ching to bring this world to life.

Jace welcomes writer Mohsen Ashraf back to the show. They talk about the second volume of Syphon and how it builds on the story of Sylas and his empathic abilities. Jace and Rocky from the Comic Boom! YouTube Channel review the DC Comics titles for the week of April 25, 2023. We get a fantastic ending to Blue Beetle: Graduation Day, bringing all the more meaning to the subtitle of the series. Action comics continues to celebrate some great era's of the character and his family. Also Doom Patrol and Green Arrow are off to good starts. Listen in for out thoughts on these titles and a whole lot more.

Jace is back after missing last weeks and the guys do not see eye to eye on the end of Knight Terrors and especially, Gotham War. A 45-minute pre-show discussion spills over into the episode as Rocky feels the Bat-Family has totally dropped the ball and are siding with Selina and he is definitely Team Bruce. Jace is more willing to consider that the proteges of Bruce weren't aware, perhaps purposefully, of what Selina was up to not wanting to confront her without Bruce's approval. Not that Jace is Team Selina, he is actually Team No One as he feels they are both wrong. With that out of the way the attention turns to Book of the Week for both guys as they do agree that Birds of Prey from Kelly Thompson is superb! An honorable mention goes to Blue Beetle as it picks up where the last series left off, while capturing the fun of the recent film as well. Peacemaker Tries Hard, Steelworks and JSA also continue to be great reads! So listen if for more details on these as well as the other DC titles this week.

Jace takes a look at the classic DC's Christmas with the Superheroes from 1988. This collection, edited by Mark Waid when he was relatively new to the industry and hadnt' embarked on his writing career yet, showcases some of the most famous and beloved holiday tales from DC's history up to that point. With 50 years of stories to pull from it as interesing to see what is chosen as it is to experience the varied tones of the stories from different eras. This is a must read for any fan of Christmas and most certainly any fan of DC.

Jace and Jay chat about some recent Marvel titles they have read. Hawkeye is having doubts about his ability to hang with the big dogs in Avengers No Road Home #2, Over in Guardians of the Galaxy #2 we are seeing a side of Eros we've never seen before as the machinations of his deceased brother, Thanos, seem to be affecting him quite deeply. Miles Morales shares an inspirational moment with Captain America in Spider-Man #3. Peter Quill continues to struggle with the loss of his family while Doctor Strange deals with his diminished powers. Finally in Daredevil #23, the consequences of the plan Matt Murdock has undertaken began to be felt and we start to wonder if Matt made the right choice after all.

Jace and Jay break down some DC books in depth with spoilers. They start with Wonder Twins #2 as it straddles the juggles the genres of humor, satire & all ages superheroes. With so many different thematic goals, can it accomplish any of them? Next up is The Batman Who Laughs: The Grim Knight #1. In writer Scott Snyder's own words, this is what happens when you cross Batman with the Punisher. It's safe to say all criminals better beware, but does his thirst for vengeance go beyond justice? Is this truly a tale of Bruce Wayne? Could this happen? Finally the guys finish up with an issue of the incredible Hawkman series from Robert Venditti. We've finally had a writer makes sense of all the convoluted history and continuity of Hawkman, even Jay who has dismissed Hawkman in the past for exactly those reasons is on board for this series. In this issue Hawkman's ancient past finally catches up with him, but he may have a very unique way of dealing with it. Carter Hall's answer to his problem is literally something no one else in the DC Universe could hope to accomplish. Great stuff!

Spawn #78 - Story - Todd McFarlane & Brian Holguin, Pencils - Greg Capullo, Inks - Danny Miki, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Brian Haberlin & Dan Kemp 

With Twitch on his deathbed, Sam makes a deal with Spawn to save his partner's life. The price both Sam and Twitch will pay is be be Spawn's minions, but what does that entail? Well to start with, Spawn has them set out to find out who is behind the gruesome murders of the homeless in the alleys of Rat City. Just when the stakes can't get any higher, the identity of the latest victim sends outrage through all three of the unlikely allies.

Jace and Jon-Paul continue to break down the re-launch of the X-Men corner of the Marvel Universe from the mind of Jonathan Hickman. In the second issue of Powers of X, we see the real world consequences of the lives Moira MacTaggert has lived. It spurs an unlikely alliance that changes everything and sets the stage for what's to come. Hickman gives us plenty of glimpses into those futures starting with seeing Cyclops with a confidence and swagger we can't recall him ever having before, but we like it! Further into the future we see Apocalypse showing confidence as well, but his confidence may be crossing the line into arrogance and could cost his team dearly. Finally as we glance over a thousand years into the X-Men's future it's time for everyone to put on their thinking caps, because Hickman's going to Hickman. By this we mean, he gives us some wild, esoteric and theoretical concepts that take a bit of brain power to understand.

Jace breaks down a HUGE #NCBD with 19 titles. All reviews are spoiler-free and we have some great titles for Marvel and AfterShock among others. Wonderful Black Bolt story, the Death of Doctor Strange event continues to exceed expectations and the 750th issue of Avengers is a GREAT time to jump on the title.

What did the Punchline one-shot and Champions 32 have in common? Jace and Rocky are back for another week of DC Comics titles. The guys love the ending of Black Adam and are desperately hoping for more of this story. The end of Batgirls and Wonder Woman #800 are the ends of their respective runs and welcome in a very different way. Superboy continues to impress as does The Vigil while Superman and World's Finest are both excellent.

The guys also love how it adds to what we know about Boba Fett and his personality while feeling completely referential and accurate in terms of tone and Star Wars canon. A must-read for anyone who has seen or enjoyed the original Star Wars trilogy.

Jace sits down with MMA World Champion Ronda Rousey, veteran comic artist Mike Deodato and  AWA Studios Chief Creative Officer Axel Alonso at SDCC 2024 to talk about the Kickstart Campaign for Expecting The Unexpected. Ronda talks about her journey to becoming a writer while Deodato talks about the collaboration that works specifically for this project. Alonso mentions how impressed he was with the story right from the start which he first learned about at SDCC 2023.

Here it is. The last Thanos story! Well, at least is was as the Mad Titan disappeared from the pages of Marvel Comics for about a decade until the Marvel Cosmic Master Jim Starling brought him back on a quest for the Infinity Gems in the pages of Silver Surfer for the February 1990 issue. Jace goes over the issue as we discover the fate of Thanos in this early era of his existence. Will he succeed in redeeming himself for his beloved, the embodiment of Death? Or will the heroes of the Marvel Universe emerge victorious?

Jace is joined by father and son co-writers Andrea Molinari and roberto Molinari to talk about The Shepherd. An intensely personal story about family and the lengths one will go to in order to stay connected to those we love. They have built an incredibley immersive world that lends itself to an incredible amount of potential for stories. Beyond the theme of family, there is are many other intersting aspects to the stories such as self-identity, history and dealig with trauma. Jace breaks down Silver Surfer #35 as Thanos is indeed back among the living. He introduces himself to the Surfer and gives the reasons for being resurrected by Death. They ring a bit hollow to Jace, but fans of the MCU will find them sounding familiar. Despite the fact that the Silver Surfer has never met Thanos it takes no time at all for him to begin to be suspicious of Thanos's actions. Once Thanos lays his plans bare and even reveals how he has already manipulated the Surfer it is clear that Thanos has made a powerful enemy. These early stories of Thanos's return so brilliant build idea upon idea leading to the legendary Infinity Gauntlet story. Once again creator Jim Starlin is showing his mastery of the Marvel Comic as he  creates this epic saga. Artist Ron Lim is the perfect choice to show the power, grandeur and action of this space opera.

Jace chats with Dan Jurgens and Mike Perkins about their DC Black Label project featuring the earliest days of Batman. Dan talks about finding his relatable point to Bat-Man and how he planned out the story to fit into the current cannon if DC decides to go that way. Also Mike discusses the Art Deco influences and how he balanced that with the grittiness of Gotham City in the 1930's. An interesting talk about the colors for the project as well, with a change in the overall feel of the colors early on. Lots to unpack in this one so listen in and be sure to pick up your copy.

Jace welcomes Cam Kerkau back to the show to chat about the conclusion of his Gilgamesh Eternal series and where the series and world may go in the future.

Ram V sits down with Jace at SDCC 2024 and talks about how personal the Fourth World story he's crafting will be. Also Ram mentions how his Fourth World story will be the most connected this corner of the DC Universe has ever been to the main continuity of the DCU. Christmas comes early as Jace and Jay talk about some fantastic books that are a gift to all comic readers. Chicken Devil #3 absolutely blew the guys away and they both chose it as their Book of the Week. Trail of Magneto comes to a close in #5 with a somewhat expected twist, but the repercussions of the series may be what's most long-lasting. We also have the end of the Kang series which was highly satisfying. All this plus so much more and Jace wraps it up with a run down on some other titles you might want to be on the lookout for.

In this episode of Spawn Daily we meet Curse. A fanatical believer in God who has sacrificed a lot in the name of finding Peace. Don't ask us how his love & desire for peace means blowing a huge hole in Spawn's chest because we're not sure either.

Jace and Rocky from Comic Boom! talk about the latest releases from DC comics. It's a big week as we see the debut of Buggles in Blue & Gold, Blue Beetle's very own version of Skeets. We also get the conclusion of the epic Strange Adventures which will start a lot of conversations. More layers are added to the character Vengeance which our crew really liked and they wonder what the future might hold for her. Plus some Fear State tie-ins in batman Urban Legends.

Jace takes a spoiler-free look at some of the titles hitting comic shops the week of June 23, 2021. Spawn's Universe from Todd McFarlane and company is the start of something incredibly big. Better grab a copy because this is a book that people may look back on in 20 years and say it all started here! Stray Dogs comes to an end with #5 and it is just as poignant, emotional and impactful as each and every issue of the series has been. Amazing Spider-Man #69 brings on Ed Brisson as co-writer and we wonder how long he will be around because this issue is really solid. Action from cover to cover and so many storylines! Fantastic Four Life Story works very well if you look at it as a What If story because so much of this version of the FF's history is completely different from the team and family we know, but that's ok because it is very compelling. Captain Marvel #29 is a wonderful character issue for Carol where she shows so much self-awareness. Perfect example of how much Kelly Thompson understands who Carol is. Plus we get incredible line work and a gorgeous cover. Gamma Flight #1 ties into the Immortal Hulk storyline and we are glad because the story of these characters may not fit into the pages of the Immortal Hulk book, but it is a story worth reading. Lan Medina handles the art and it looks great. Heroes Return finishes up the Heroes reborn event, but we are left feeling a bit like this one may be forgotten quickly. It was all a bit predictable and while at times it was fun, it's impact is questionable. Nuclear Family #5 finishes this series up in a way that fits the feel of the series overall. All your questions may not be answered and you are left to ponder the implications. Just like some of the best episodes of the Twilight Zone not everything is wrapped up in a nice, neat package. Way of X #3 has Nightcrawler more confused than ever when it comes to the answers he seeks about finding a way to stem the spiritual malaise he feels is spreading on the island of Krakoa. Kurt has always been a character whose faith has been strong, but what may matter most here is that Kurt believe in himself. We have not one but two Books of the Week this time out, both have surprising twists in the narrative that we were not expecting based on the previous issues. Shadecraft #4 show us we may not be getting the family drama we expected, but may be getting a much more action-packed one. Lee Garbett & Antonio Fabela are at the height of their artistic powers as well. In Blue Flame #2 a huge event happens within the first two pages that will have a huge impact on the dual narrative going forward and we wonder how Sam may view it. Will he begin to believe that perhaps humanity is not worth saving? All this, plus Jace gives a rundown on some other titles you may want to be on the lookout for.

Jace and Rocky from Comic Boom! take a look at the DC books for the week of May 4, 2021. Starting off with Suicide Squad #3 which Robbie Thompson brings the perfect amount of humor to, but we wonder if this issue wouldn't have been better served by coming out before Teen Titans Academy #2. Swamp Thing #3 continues to be a high quality title as Poison Ivy makes an appearance the art takes an even more lustrous turn with gorgeous colors. Crime Syndicate #3 gives is our first look at Alexander Luthor, but the guys wonder if the version still has some evolving to do. Green Lantern #2 has some of the most consequential events we have seen in a Lantern book in a long time, the only question is how long will these changes stick? Batman #108 gives our first in-depth look at Miracle Molly and she may be the most interesting of all the new characters we have seen debuting in this title over the last year. Finally the second issue of Batman Fortnite is tons of fun and fans of the video game will get even more out of it than those who haven't played it.

Dead Dreams: The Lucid Chronicles #1 - Writer - Brittany Matter, Artist - Dailen Ogden

Looking to live out her dreams of becoming an actress, timid Piña Axletree takes a tonic and wakes up in a parallel world, leading a drug syndicate. Will she run back to the familiar doldrums of her reality or become a more ruthless version of herself to achieve her dreams?

In the vein of ORPHAN BLACK and FRINGE, Dead Dreams: The Lucid Chronicles #1 is a 32-page sci-fi thriller where parallel worlds exist, dreams are drugs, and doppelgängers dare to change the world. Jace, Manny and Jay talk about some of the titles hitting stands the week of February 17, 2021. Stillwater #6 ratchets up the action all the way as the first arc comes to a close. The Last Ronin #2 picks up where #1 left off, but the guys wonder how much the long delay between issues hurt the series. Future State Catwoman #2 ends one of the best titles DC has put out during this peek into the future so you should give it a look. Savage is indicative of that kinds of books Valiant is putting out and the guys can't help but feel a little let down over the quality of what was once a top publisher. Shadow Doctor #1 is another incredible debut from AfterShock and Declan Shalvey's take on the Immortal Hulk in Flatline #1 should not be missed. Spider-Woman continues to impress from writer Karla Pacheco and may go down as the definitive run for Jessica Drew. We end of with three books of the week this time, Haha #2 from Manny, Jay gives his nod to Black Widow #5 which finishes off the first arc of Kelly Thompson's run that has humanizes Natasha and Jace gives his nod to Iron Man #6 as Tony Stark reaches his breaking point and is about to show Korvac he shouldn't have messed with Stark! We also give a rundown of some other titles you may want to be on the lookout for!

Jace chats with writer David Pepose who returns to tell us all about the second issue of his huge hit, The O.Z. The campaign for issue #1 was very successful and this time was no different as David funded in less than an hour! Jace and David talked a lot about the motivations & world world ideas of loss & trauma that were explored in the first issue. Now we add to that as the second issue explores even more of the civil war that has engulfed the beloved land of OZ. Pitch perfect linework and colors push the narrative forward with a balance of the fantastical whimsey of OZ mixed with the grittiness of war. David and his co-creators have really captured lightning on a bottle here so listen in to find out what makes this book so special and go pledge to join the campaign.

Jace looks back on the first Christmas Superman spent in Metropolis and how he learned a lesson about not trying to do everything alone. The Man of Steel starts off by deciding that he will attempt to prevent all crime in the city as his gift to his new home. However, not even Superman can be everywhere at once. Also many of the citizens of Metropolis take it upon themselves to help out where they can. Whether they are inspired by Superman I can't say, but it is an important message to remember in this holiday season that you are never truly alone if you choose to reach out to others.

Jace sat down with Ram V at San Diego Comic Con to chat about the BEST comic DC is currently publishing. Ram has a special connection to The Vigil with it's setting in his home country of India and the guys talk about the interesting dichotomies of Ram's homeland and how it makes such a rich backdrop for dramatic story. Also some character development talk and a tease for what's to come. 

Jace returns to the New Comic Wednesday episodes to talk about some great Marvel and Image titles. First the sad news of the passing of a legend as Jace talks about the incredible career and impact of John Romita Sr. We get the final issue of Captain Marvel which is spectacular and we are sad to see this series come to an end. Also the final chapter of the Cold War Story in Captain Marvel leaves us with some mixed feelings about how it all turned out while still wanting more Cap from this creative team. The new Black Panthers series is off to a great start as is the new Image series Klik Klik Boom, Plus Immortal Sergeant and Something Epic are continuing at the highest possible level. 

Jace and Rocky take a deep dive into Absolute Superman #1 with a page by page breakdown. The creative team does an incredible job with a Superman who is incredibly true to the core of the characters but everything else feels very fresh. The isolated feel of Kal-El is so different from what we are used to, but makes so much sense with the version of Krypton we see in the first issue. When you couple that with incredible line and color work, you end up with an amazing start to this story. Whether it's the caste society of Krypton or the echoes of that we see in the small mining encampments of Brazil this version of Kal-El is pulling from the earliest days of Superman fighting for those too weak to fight for themselves. An amazing first installment and worthy of the hero that started it all.

Spawn #38 - Story - Todd McFarlane, Pencils - Tony Daniel, Inks - Kevin Conrad, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Todd Broeker, Computer Color Assist - Roy Young

Cy-Gor is on the loose, but is he truly a villain? Also who is in control, is he wild like a gorilla or is someone controlling him? Meanwhile, Curse returns and what he has in store for Spawn has our hero falling to pieces, literally.

Spawn #29 - Story - Todd McFarlane, Art - Greg Capullo & McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Fresh off a battle with Angela (No, we haven't read that yet either), Spawn finds himself in need of a place to hide out and gets help from an unlikely ally. As it turns out though, this person may need Spawn's help more than Spawn needed his. It's an emotional story and one that broaches an uncomfortable subject.

Jace welcome writer Samuel Sattin to the show to talk about his reimagining of the classic Osamu Tezuka mange Unico. A daunting task for any writer, we talk with Samuel about the challenge of ensuring his story honors the original story of the "Godfather of Manga". The guys also chat about the universal themes of the story and the brilliance of Tezuka's original vision for the story. There are lots of influences in both the original and the soon to be released Unico: Awakenings, but Disney is clearly one of them, so be sure to listen to this awesome conversation that includes Samuel's plans for San Diego Comic Con 2024.

Jace and Manny chat about a few of the issues that they have had a chance to read form this weeks new releases. Jace also gives a run down on some other titles you might want to be on the lookout for. The guys also disagree on the worth of Clownhunter from the pages of batman #104, but are warming to the character of Ghost Maker. Meanwhile AfterShock has a couple of quality titles hitting stands, Tom King, Doc Shaner and Mitch Gerads continue to impress in Strange Adventures. Also speaking of Tom King, the long awaited Barman and Catwoman hits stands with its debut issue and three timelines are being explored with gorgeous art from Clay Mann.

Jace and Rocky chat about some of the independent titles for the week of November 13, 2024. String gives us a look inside the life of a young girl who can see attachments between those that have been intimate with each other or have or will murder someone, just as we as the readers are trying to decide if it is a gift or a curse, she sees a murder string connected to her! The second issue of The Big Burn continues the story of a professional crew trying to steal back their souls from the devil, but the heist may be over before it even gets started when the group is betrayed from within. The debut of Arcbound leans into some familiar science fiction tropes but it's full of action and fun with an infectious art style. Dark Empty Void ramps up both the mystery and the action, but the answers the team exploring the black hole are getting may not be the ones they want. Speaking of mysteries the detective duo in Huge Detective is discovering their mystery may go much deeper than expected, while the heist on the prison planet in Life has also hit a snag when that crew discovers just what has been done to the prisoners incarcerated there and the horror that comes with that discovery. Plus, the debut of G.I. Joe has a shocking final page that has to be seen to be believed. Join us as we talk about all these titles plus a whole lot more!

In the best tradition of the holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life, Superman gets a glimpse of what the future will be like without him. It's a powerful reminder of how impactful Kal-El is ways he doesn't even realize. He must always remain as a symbol of hope for all of us for in doing so he reminds is all of how to strive for the best in ourselves. Taking it even one step further it reminds us to look for the best in each other. A wonderful reminder of how we all may impact and influence others in out own lives without realizing it.

Todd also hopes to have news regarding the Spawn movie this year with a possible release date in 2025 to be announced. Todd also chats about his upcoming Kickstarter campaign for what he calls "the most detailed action figure" he has ever made and reveals some of his plans to celebrate 30 years of McFarlane Toys. Plus they guys discuss the early days of Spawn and Todd's recruitment of some of the top writers of the early 90's to writer issues of Spawn. There's tons of information and lot of fun to be had as we celebrate the longest running independent comic character of all-time.

Jace chats with comic creators Jemma Young and Chad Hardin about the Kickstarter campaign for the second issue of their Temerity series. From Chad's desires to have their ship the Temerity become a sci-fi icon, to Jemma's detailed character histories, it's clear that these two creators are passionate about this project. Plenty of talk about how they fell in love with comics and the craziness of the Harley Quinn ear and conventions also. The real takeaway here though is what a fun and cosmic story they are crafting which already has a loyal following. Jace and Rocky from Comic Boom! talk about the DC offerings for the week of May 18, 2021. Before they dive into the comics hitting shops this week, there is a ton of talk about the recent news that AT&T is spinning of Warner Media and will no longer be involved in the day-to-day operations of the company. A lot of what might happen is pure speculation at this point, but with over 80 years of experience following the industry and it's ups and downs, the guys make some educated guesses on what may come next. Meanwhile, Nightwing and Catwoman continue to be the two best books DC is putting out. Both books this week offer interesting narratives and absolutely stunning art. If you aren't reading these two titles, we don't know if you can accurately call yourself a DC fan. Wonder Girl #1 is also an inspired debut with a relatability & vulnerability to Yara Flor that we haven't see before, but really enjoyed. Batman Fortnite Zero Point #3 gives fans everything they could ask for in a Batman vs Snake Eyes fight as their combat takes up nearly the entire issue. This series continues to be a lot of fun. Speaking of fun, Flash #770 is a ton of fun with it's wild time travel/speed force story. Plus Wally West/Jay Garrick gets to punch Hitler! Also we have to mention that the Jack Herbert art is stunning. Superman Red & Blue #3 is very much worth your time as some lesser known creators show they have what it takes when it comes to showcasing the emotion of the Man of Steel. Over in the pages of Justice League, we also get great art and the guys are intrigued by the story playing out for the League. Mostly they really want the back-up story starring Justice League Dark to have it's own title as the narrative is very much worthy of it's own book.

Jace chats with writer Scott Bryan Wilson and artist Max Fuchs about their recently released debut issue of Kill More from IDW. Set in a city that is literally falling apart with anyone and everyone relocating if they can, it attracts exactly the wrong kinds of people, namely serial killers. This procedural explores the lives of the cops who stick it out to try and solve these crimes as well as the eclectic and numerous serial killers who are attracted to the chaos and entropy in the city of Colonia as it collapses. Sharp dialogue, impactful art and moody colors make this a must-read. 

Jace talks spoiler-free about 16 books he has read already from this week's titles We get some great character work in Rogue Sun, Silver Coin is as horrific as ever and Amazing Spider-Man has a great twist. Plus the end of the latest arcs of Newburn and Arrowsmith and Jace gives a run down on some other titles you might wat to look out for this week.

Due to a literal natural disaster, Jace flies solo on this one, We get the end of the first World's Finest arc with tons of action, Nightwing picks up the pace in a big way while Dark Crisis Young Justice has the young heroes realizing something is wrong what they believed to be a reliving of their past. All this plus action packed issues of Jurassic League, Blood Syndicate, Aquaman Flash Voidsong and more!

Jace and Rocky talk about the DC Comics for the week of November 21, 2023. It's a big week with some great titles headlined by Batman Off-World which is action-packed and a wild-ride right from the start. The continued exploration of the early days of Magog in World's Finest is also an instant classic and Wonder Woman's combination of action and politics is also extremely well-balanced. Catwoman starts on some new adventures, the action ramps up in JL Vs Godzilla Vs Kong and how is defeating The Chained actually a bad thing for Superman. Listen in for all the details.

Jace talks about some new Marvel issues for the week of September 15, 2021. There are some really big books, including the 60th Anniversary of the Fantastic Four and the earliest origins of Thanos.

Spawn #8 - Story - Alan Moore, Pencils & Inks - Todd McFarlane, Letters - Tom Orzechowski, Colors - Steve Oliff

Jace and Rocky break down Spawn #8 as the 12 Days of Spawn-Mas rolls on. We get someone other than McFarlane writing for the first time as the master, Alan Moore handles the writing duties. He expands on the mythos of Spawn and the concept of hellspawns tremendously. Also we aren't sure if it is the fact that McFarlane doesn't have to worry about the writing that frees up his pencils, but we get the best art of the whole series so far in this issue.

Jace and Rocky from Comic Boom! break down a massive week of DC titles. We finally get the end of Waller vs Wildstorm, the battle rages on in Titans: Beast World, there's a big surprise from Damian's past in Batman and Robin and Superman turns to Constantine for help with his magic problem. Plus both guys give their Book of the Week nod to the series finale of Danger Street. Listen for all the details about these books and more.

Jace takes a deep dive into part 3 of Leviathan Rising. We see Lois's reaction to Amanda Waller's revelation about Superman's secret identity, as well as a silver age type ending that you have to see to believe.

Jace chats with writer/artist Dan Panosian about an upcoming project from AWA Studios that combines many of Dan’s favorite things. Set in the late 60’s, that tumult of that time period is perfectly suited for a story combing horror, rock and roll with some Kung Fu thrown in for good measure. Jace and Dan discuss choosing this specific time period for the story, how you can find the light by coming through the darkness, the incredible art of his collaborator on the project, Dalibor Talajic and a whole lot more.
