Hey Clerk Commuters! Do you love neuro? Are you curious about the path to neurosurgery? Today we have the privilege of interviewing Dr. Das, neurosurgeon and scientist at St. Michael’s Hospital. Dr. Das studied literature and philosophy at The University of Michigan and Harvard University before graduating from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He then pursued a PhD at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland, during which time he studied the biology of neural stem cells. He entered the neurosurgical training program at Northwestern University, and in 2010, joined the faculty in the Division of Neurosurgery at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto. His clinical interest is in the surgical management of malignant brain tumors and tumors involving the skull base. Dr. Das’ lab investigates the biology of stem cells in the normal brain and primary tumors. Tune in as we discuss Dr. Das’ path to neurosurgery. | |||
