How the Lightning Process Steered Jodie Goss’ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Into Recovery
00:50:02
Jodie’s chronic health story began In early 2006, she came down with shingles and flu like symptoms. Having just accepted her dream job, she pushed through her sometimes debilitating symptoms but although she hoped they would improve, they just got worse. After getting tested for every illness under the sun, she was eventually told she had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). The doctor said it could last for months or even years and that there was no cure or treatment and so was understandably devastated.
She went from Dr to Dr with little improvement and was even told by one that ‘she would need to learn to live with it’; this was something she would not accept however and she kept pushing on and looking for solutions.
Then one day, she read a newspaper article about someone who had fully recovered from CFS after taking the Lightning Process. and so she took a leap of faith and booked herself onto a course in January 2009.
And it was this course that changed her life forever.
Since doing the course she had run the London Marathon; got married; had and is raising 2 children, moved continents to start a new life in Los Angeles and retrained in an entirely new professional discipline as a Lightning Practice practitioner and so she now helps countless others recover from chronic illness

Liz Carlson’s Journey to Freeing Herself From Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)
00:52:19
In this episode, we have Liz Carlson. In Spring 2016, Liz fell ill with a flu-like “mystery illness” that she didn’t seem to recover from. Her energy levels plummeted, her cognition declined, her digestion fell apart, and most troublingly—minor exertion often caused an immobilizing cellular-level “crash” the next day that took many days to recover from.
After healing from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Liz is grateful for the opportunity to apply her experience to empower others on their road to vibrant health.

Ashok Gupta Answers Your Questions on Gupta Program and How to Fully Recover from Chronic Illnesses
01:16:28
In this episode, we have Ashok Gupta. Ashok suffered from ME/CFS and managed to fully recover. He’s made it his life long quest to help others recover from similar chronic conditions.
His 20 years of research combined with the latest findings about "neuroplasticity" led him to believe these conditions are ultimately caused by abnormalities in brain function, which can be reversed using revolutionary "brain retraining" techniques called "Amygdala and Insula Retraining."
Despite what people may say, many people do recover successfully from these conditions, and the Gupta Program triggers the body's natural ability to heal itself.
TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 - Intro 02:06 - Ashok's backstory 07:46 - Hardware vs. Software analogy 13:06 - Your body will deal with itself if... 14:33 - Does he still pay attention to "labels" - Neuroimmune condition syndromes 16:28 - Conditions that unexpectedly worked with "Gupta Program" 18:31 - Amygdala, Limbic System, Insula, and the concept of the "Triune Brain" 22:22 - Game of Thrones analogy with the brain and immune system 27:07 - Question #1: Aside from long Covid and ME/CFS, can it help heal other autoimmune conditions (RA, etc.)? 27:29 - 3 Types of Illness 28:22 - Question #2: How would you describe your program compared to Annie Hopper's DNRS? What do you think are the differences in practice? 31:32 - Question #3: Tips for handling unavoidable stress when healing from CFS 34:46 - The problem with putting lives on hold because of illness 36:19 - Question #4: How do I tell the difference between symptoms of Limbic System Dysfunction, and real triggers? 39:14 - What's causing the damage more: the stimulus or the thought? 41:24 - Ashok's thoughts on mold 44:07 - Question #5: Why do the majority of symptoms of limbic system disfunction start on one day, after a “perfect storm”, and why can’t the recovery or “reset” be as quick? Why is it so progressive? 46:58 - The bucket analogy with illnesses 48:11 - Advise for people who are doing rounds-based brain retraining 49:28 - Phil's problem tapping with the feeling 54:05 - Perfectionism can be a barrier to healing 57:54 - Question #6: Can you please ask him about his experiences with more ‘physical’ treatments for autonomic nervous system dysfunction? 1:00:55 - Question #7: For the first couple months of my brain training practice, I had very powerful rounds where I felt I was in a hypnotic state. I experienced profound healing but after the first month or two I found that I had lost access to that state, & the healing that I experienced similarly plateaued. Is it necessary to reach a trance-like state for rounds to be effective? 1:04:00 - Scientific studies done to the treatments they offer at Gupta Program 1:05:38 - Question #8: I'd like to know what his success rate is 1:10:55 - Question #9: Why is the last 10% of recovery so hard? 1:13:36 - Question #10: Should do the program first before you start treatment?

How Luanne Hopkinson from a Multitude of Chronic Symptoms by Promoting her Body's Natural Ability to Heal
00:51:52
In this episode, I speak to Luanne Hopkinson about her chronic health issues and how she overcame them.
Luanne suffered for decades from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), heartburn, eczema, anxiety, food intolerance and hormone issues, manifesting in chronic issues such as anxiety, heartburn, bloating, abdominal cramps, nausea, histamine intolerance, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) and ME/CFS.
After years of suffering, and a crash when she hit her 40s, she began on a path of investigating how she could heal herself, and through meditation, brain retraining and learning about her gut health and intolerances, she was able to promote her own body's natural healing processes and restore her health. She now works as a nutritional medical practitioner, helping others improve their health in the same way, as well as supporting the use of diet and supplementation where necessary.
Perry Nickelston Explains the Role of the Lymphatic System in Overcoming Pain & Optimising Health
01:28:39
In today’s episode, we have Perry Nickelston, aka 'The Lymph Doc'. Perry is a Chiropractic Physician who, after experiencing issues with his own health and autoimmune system, educated himself on ways to overcome pain and other chronic symptoms.
In our conversation, we dive deep on how blood flow (circulatory system) and lymph flow (the lymphatic system) are fundamental to good health and overcoming chronic pain, and how the pillars of nutrients, hydration, detoxification, breathing and sleep are vital in overcoming chronic health issues. Perry also explains how all the bodily systems work in accordance with each other, and that an understanding of this is vital in terms of recovering from chronic issues. We also discuss how diagnoses can sometimes become a self-fulfilling prophecy, stress & the fight or flight response, and how emotional triggers that can underlie chronic illness.
Perry also kindly demonstrates his self-massage technique for lymphatic draining and detoxification to me.

The Importance of Movement in Chronic Illness Recovery, with my Trainer, Jonson Tan
01:01:57
This episode is the first of a mini series where I’ll be talking to three people who have been helping me in three key areas - movement, sleep and breath.
In this episode I chat with my trainer Jonson, Co-founder and Head Coach of Nirvana Strength here in Canggu, Bali. I started working with Jonson approximately 14 months ago, and as you may have seen from my posts, when we started working together we were doing the smallest of exercises, to slowly increase my mobility and strength, and more importantly, to build up my confidence in my own bodies ability to move and recover.
In this conversation, we talk about how Jonson and I have worked together over the last year, how things have progressed for me both in terms of physicality but also mindset, when to know how to push and how to hold back, and flare ups and how they are all part of the process.
The Importance of Sleep In Chronic Illness Recovery, with Sleep Coach, Gary Allman
00:55:55
This episode is the second of a mini series where I talk to three people who have been helping me bring about changes in three key areas - movement, sleep and breath. In this episode I chat with Sleep Coach, Gary J Allman, owner of Sleep & Perform, who I worked with last year to help me commit to getting my sleep in order and to hold me accountable to those simple sleep hygiene habits that we all know we should be doing but are hard to be consistent with.
Sleep is one of the key pillars of health, and it’s so important to be prioritising it when battling chronic issues and trying to optimise health.
In this conversation, we speak about how DNA can affect your sleep, the difference between REM and Deep sleep, and the role that consistent sleep and wake times, nutrition, and hydration play in regulating your circadian rhythms and melatonin production, and why this is so important. Gary also shares numerous sleep optimisation tips, and shares his wisdom answering some of the questions you sent in.

The Importance of Breath in Chronic Illness Recovery, with Breathwork Facilitator, Satori Clarke
01:01:02
This episode is the third and final episode of a mini series where I talk to three people who have been helping me bring about changes in three key areas - movement, sleep and breath.
In this episode I talk with Breathwork facilitator, Satori Clarke. Satori is Head of Research at Breathwork Bali, and Co-Founder of it's BreathLab, and I've been working with her doing one-to-one Breathwork sessions for the last 8 months of so. I've found it a really beneficial practice for me in many ways, including helping me learn to regulate and trust my nervous system, and allowing me to tap into states of rest and relaxation that I struggle to access otherwise.
In this episode, we discuss breath and its power to change the way the nervous system functions, which can in turn alter which parts of our brain and more online. Satori explains how when we bring conscious awareness to our breath, it will begin to re-pattern our body and how it functions, and the more that we practice it, the more our body will access it unconsciously.
Satori talks me through the different diaphragms we have in our body that assist breathing, and we also discuss various different breathing techniques (cadence breathing, conscious connected breathing, Holotropic breathing etc) and the benefits and states each one can bring about. We also discuss the importance of rest and relaxation and how Breathwork can tap into this by regulating the nervous system, by training it to safely activate and de-activate.
0:00 - Intro 1:39 - Why breath is one of the most underrated areas to focus on in health? 4:10 - Rapid breathing and hyperventilation disorder, and how your unconscious breathing patterns could be causing you problems 5:45 - The three diaphragms of breath, and how breathing correctly and consciously can increase blood flow and help organs function better 7:00 - Cadence breathing - what it is and the impact practicing it can have 8:00 - Wim Hof breathing (holotropic Breathwork) 9:26 - Conscious connected Breathwork and how it differs to Holotropic Breathwork 11:29 - How conscious connected Breathwork can help create nervous system regulation, teaching it to go into intensity, and then come down and rest and recover. 12:05 - How our culture creates a sense of stress and constant “doing” and the importance of rest and relaxation, and how Breathwork can help with this 12:55 - My experience when I first discovered Breathwork and my early takeaways from the practice 14:55 - My breath and Satori’s observations of how this has changed over the course of time we’ve been working together 16.15 - My experience in learning to trust my nervous system, and how this has been powerful for me 22.40 - “Highly dis-regulated” nervous systems and what this means 26:28 - What a ‘breath journey’ is 29:13 - Emotion as energy, and how Breathwork and nervous system activation can help this move through the body 35:34 - How Breathwork can help dial down the prefrontal cortex, allowing emotions to emerge. 40:10 - My experience of putting my trust in my nervous system, and how breathwork has helped me on my chronic health journey. 47:14 - The importance of being properly supported in breathwork (not being guided virtually/online) 51:37 - Cadence breathing as an starting point for those without access to a facilitator, and its benefits 56:13 - Satori’s work with Breath Lab, at Breathwork Bali, and their research

Podcasting Our Way To Recovery: What Over 200 Episodes Has Taught Us About Chronic Health and How to Heal From CFS/ME, Lyme Disease, Fibromyalgia & So Much More
01:08:48
In this special episode, I'm joined by Chazmith Newton, host of the Our Power Is Within podcast. Chazmith and I both started our podcasts around the same time and have done over 100 episodes each, and so we decided to come together and share the key insights, lessons and takeaways that we've gained from speaking to the many guests that have been on our shows. There are many synergies to our stories and how our podcasts came about, so it was great to come together and have this conversation.
In this episode, we discuss each of our situations regarding our own health and how our podcasts first came about, and our shared experience surrounding how hearing success stories of people recovering can be both inspirational but also triggering, and how we've had to navigate that in doing our podcasts. We also discuss the many modalities that our guests have had recovered with, including somatic tracking, brain retraining, breathwork, etc. We discuss the importance of having faith in divine timing, cultivating a belief that you will recover, learning to trust your body again, seeking support, and trying to find gratitude within your journey to health.

From Bedbound to Thriving - How "Ribeye Rach" is Recovering Using DNRS and the Carnivore Diet
00:47:47
In this episode, I'm joined by Rachael Elizabeth, also known as "Ribeye Rach" on Instagram. This podcast episode has been a long-time coming - we’ve been trying to arrange it for almost a year now! And interestingly, back when Rachael first found my podcast and we started speaking, she was in a totally different place with her recovery compared to now, so maybe that was the universe at work!
Rachael was always an avid rock climber and athlete, but in 2016 her health rapidly deteriorated, and she was diagnosed with dysautonomia, ehlers-danlos syndrome, chair malformation, craniocervical instability, tethered cord syndrome, intracranial hypertension, gastroparesis, adrenal insufficiency, chronic Lyme disease and much more.
After various treatments and surgeries and no improvement, Rachael was still in “a living hell”, and she hit her lowest point in 2020 when she was essentially bed-bound, having seizures and in a wheelchair.
Starting a Lyme disease treatment protocol brought her out of her bed bound phase, but it was when she found alternative ways of healing that her healing accelerated, changing her life. Through brain retraining, DNRS and living by a carnivore diet, she is now able to live her life again.
In this conversation, Rachael tells her amazing story and we discuss brain retraining, the power of timing, the distinction between wanting to heal and being ready to heal, the importance of belief in your recovery, and how different treatments work for different people.

Danny McMillan - His comeback story from Lyme, Mold, SIBO.....
00:48:20
This week’s on The Chronic Comeback Podcast - Danny Mcmillan
Danny is someone I’ve known of for some time as he runs a successful podcast called seller sessions that has over 50,000 downloads a month and rising. The podcast itself interviews some of the top minds in the online e-commerce space and as I’m in the process of launching my own online business I am a loyal listener!
Added to the podcast, he runs three very successful businesses and also runs huge sell-out events in the online selling space that attract thousands of people.
So you would think with a guy like this, all that he has and does, he must have it all together and is completely healthy? Guess again...
Since 2014, Danny has been dealing with Lyme, SIBO and mold and the mental challenges this comes with. However, after being hospitalised in 2017, he took control over his situation and vowed he would “throw the kitchen sink” at figuring this all out and wouldn’t ever accept the idea that he couldn’t improve his situation.
As a result, Dannys health has improved significantly and his businesses and podcast are thriving. Danny is raw and honest which is why he makes such a good guest for this show and am excited for you to listen

Amanda Campbell - Her comeback story from MS
00:54:50
Introducing this week’s guest on The Chronic Comeback Podcast - Amanda Campbell
Amanda is a serial entrepreneur, a Kinesiologist, motivational speaker, author and one of Australia’s leading minds in the area of resilience. But how did she build this resilience?
With a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis at age 24 and a paralysis at just 29 years old, Amanda was faced with never walking again. She was stretched to her limit emotionally and physically. With no choice but to succeed and the odds stacked against her, Amanda had to change her mind about what could be possible to create new results.
Deciding on a balanced approach, Amanda had to embrace uncertainty and change to discover what she was made of. Learning how to walk and run again led to her transforming her mind, body and life.
Now a decade on, Amanda’s passion is to inspire others to embrace their obstacles as an opportunity to awaken their potential whilst maximising health and so is an ideal person to have on the show to talk us all through her inspiring comeback!

Sophie Grace Holmes - Her Comeback Story From Cystic Fibrosis
00:44:55
This week’s guest - Sophie Grace Holme
Sophie was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis aged 4 months old and unlike my other guests so far, and me, has only ever known a life with her condition.
She was told she wouldn’t live beyond 16 but her whole life, she has consistently refused to listen to Doctors when they placed limitations on her life. She went past 16 with no issues and after being only given a few years to live at age 19, she again ignored all Dr’s advice, continuing to believe she would live an amazing life and she has certainly followed through on that promise to herself.
Since that point, she has challenged herself and her body to do things any “normal” person would find impossible - hiking the Himalayas, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and Gran Paradiso, running an ultra marathon, paddle-boarding 80 miles in the ocean overnight and so much more....
She really is the embodiment of what this podcast is all about. Had she listened to the negativity being sent her way, she could have lived a scared and uneventful life yet she’s managed to live more in the 27 years she’s been on the planet than most will ever so in their lifetime

Sam Wysock-Wright - His Chronic Comeback Story From Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
00:48:09
This week on the Chronic Comeback Podcast - Sam Wysock-Wright 🙌🏼
Sam is actually someone I’ve known for a few years. We both met as we were each going through our chronic illness and looking for ways to get better.
For as long as Sam could remember, he hadn’t been well: fatigue, stomach issues, brain fog, concentration issues, anxiety but since he didn’t know any different, he assumed this was normal.
It wasn’t until he reached 21 and was debilitated by fatigue and his other symptoms that Sam was diagnosed with chronic fatigue.
From the moment I met Sam, there wasn’t ever a doubt in his mind that he could recover which is kind of crazy given that he had never really been healthy before. His mindset and focus was so strong that he wouldn’t stop until he has achieved what he was striving for, to feel healthy...
Fast forward to today, he says he now feels healthier than he’s ever done and after years of dealing with anxiety and depression, he is now so happy with where he is at in his life. Added to this, he left his old job that was such a huge contributor to his bad health and is scaling a successful meditation coaching business that helps so many people who are in a position he has been before.
His story is an example of what is possible when you take control over your life and believe that anything is possible...

Matt Phipps - His Chronic Comeback Story From Lyme Disease
00:50:02
This week’s guest on the podcast - Matt Phipps 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
So far on the podcast, we have spoken to people who are on the other side of their comeback and in most cases have completely recovered their health. So this week I was keen to share the story of someone who is still very much in the process of making their comeback, enter Matt...
Matt spent over 20 years in the military, having an incredibly successful career before making the decision to start his own business with his wife. The business took off immediately and grew from strength to strength growing into a profitable 7-figure business. So you would think that with all of these, Matt has it made and nothing is challenging? Think again...
Over the last few years, Matt has begun to develop an number of debilitating symptoms with both fatigue and muscle weakness playing major roles. After spending countless hours researching and going from doctor to doctor, he was finally given a diagnosis of Lyme disease. Since that point, he has had to endure ups and downs on his road to recovery which has required him to draw down on that mental toughness he cultivated during his time in the military.
It is this strong mentality that has enabled him to make great strides in his recovery whilst at the same time launching and ultimately running a 7-figure business
If you would like to connect with Matt or have any questions for him following today’s episode, please add him on FB (Matt Phipps) or email him at matt@titanmembers.com

Paul Harvey - His Chronic Comeback Story From MS
00:39:43
This week’s guest - Paul Harvey 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
In a previous life, Paul was a deputy head teacher in a London school for youth offenders and so was placed in highly stressful situations on a daily basis and even one day being assaulted by someone in his class!
From a health perspective, Paul had lived a normal life up until this point, enjoying life and partying in his 20s and it was actually on a particularly bad hangover one more I guess that he began developing worrying symptoms that made it difficult to walk and even began to lose vision in one of his eyes. After going to a number of doctors, he was diagnosed with MS and, devastated, he slipped into a depression.
However with the help of his amazing wife, they began to focus on how others have recovered from MS and a common theme they came across was healing through diet and lifestyle. They came up with a plan and said they would commit to it for 2 years no matter what. Fast firsts to the end of those 2 years and he was completely symptom free and feeling healthy. He had made the mother of all comebacks 😀
Added to this, he has now left his old job and launched his own online company which has grown successfully since then, working with 7 and 8 figure businesses. Paul is such a great example of what’s possible when you don’t give up on your future 🙌🏼

Felix Durden - His Chronic Comeback Story From Lyme Disease
00:44:54
This week’s guest.... Felix Durden 🙌🏼
Really excited to share this podcast with you this week and Felix’s story.
Up until the age of 18, Felix was a healthy, happy person without a care in the world. He then started to develop severe symptoms including extreme fatigue, aching all over and bad depression and anxiety and after going from Dr to Dr, he was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease.
He was told by a Dr that this was his life now, it was incurable and he would have to live with it. Despite all of this, Felix refused to accept that a life on medication was his future and so took control over his recovery and began looking into more natural remedies.
It was at this point he was introduced to plant medicines and the power it can have to transform your mind and in turn, your life. He then started on a journey that led him to Peru where he drank ayahuasca, an experience that changed his life and ultimately led to him healing his Lyme.
He is now symptom free and has been living in Peru for the last 8 years. His story is both extraordinary and inspiring in equal measure... if you want to connect with him, please contact him via his website www.bodyofprana.com or follow him on IG @durdenfelix

Tom Squires - His Chronic Comeback Story From Mould Toxicity & Lyme Disease
00:55:40
This week on the podcast - Tom squires 🙌🏼
Tom was healthy and happy throughout his life, right up until the age of 32 where he became acutely sick and developed what he later realised were hallmark early Lyme symptoms.
An avid runner, he could barely stand up for longer than 5 minutes and so he knew something was seriously wrong.
He went on the normal doctor merry go round and was told he had a virus and to rest up. After refusing to accept this, he eventually got a diagnosis of Lyme and found a treatment plan that helped him get better but not recovered.
Whilst he made improvements, he still wasn’t right and so again, went into investigation mode and ended up discovering he had a big issue with mould toxicity. He then went through the excruciating process of leaving the house he owned whilst it had to be completely renovated, a process taking 9 months! Thankfully, it worked and now he is pretty much symptom free!
He is now back running and has recently achieved a PB for 5k of 16 mins 45 seconds, putting him in the top 1000 in the UK!
Tom is an example of someone who refused to take the negative advice he received and paved his own way to health. He’s also someone I personally use as a sounding board for my own recovery and so I’m really excited to release this episode!

How Hersha Patel went from bed-bound to symptom free - her recovery story from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
00:52:27
This week on the Podcast - @hershapatel 🙌🏼
In a previous life, Hersha was a workaholic, always striving to be the best at what she did, always pushing for more even if it was to the detriment of her own well-being. It was this lifestyle that led her to the point of burn out, mentally but also physically when she began developing chronic fatigue symptoms.
These symptoms meant that she could leave her bed, let alone her house as she couldn’t physically do so. This went on for 2 years until she decided she couldn’t carry on like this, she took control over her life and her recovery. She addressed her lifestyle and stress levels but then also went on a spiritual journey that ultimately helped her to completely recover.
She has since gone on to pursue a career that fulfils her and as a result is a successful presenter, filmmaker and YouTuber with over 200,000 subscribers (I have 28 😀)

How Megan Roberts dealt with the mental battle of Lyme Disease and came through the other side
00:56:13
This week on the show - Megan Roberts 🙌🏼
On the show so far, I’ve mainly had people on who have been 30+ who talked about their story but this week I was excited to talk to someone whose story began at 19. There are a lot of younger people out there going through chronic illness at such a young age and so with that, the mental challenges that can arise as a result.
Before getting sick, Megan had a great teen life, and was very successful in her Dressage career.
About 4 years ago, her mum and sister fell very ill, and then were both tested positive for Lyme Disease.
After spending her time helping her dad nurse then back to health, she then too fell seriously ill and was also tested positive for Lyme. She gave up her passion for horses and went through a really tough time.
Fast forward to today however, she has made huge progress, both physically and mentally, and has even launched her own business, all at the age of 22! not only that, she is back doing what she loves and is competing, riding horses again!
She really is a great example of what’s possible to anyone going through chronic illness but also to young people in general 😀

How CJ Scarlet dearth with FIVE autoimmune issues including Lupus
00:48:56
This week on the podcast we have CJ Scarlet 🙌🏼
CJ is an author, entrepreneur and all around badass 😀 who has been through tremendous hardships in her life to come through the other side to get to a point where she is now thriving!
A victim of sexual abuse as a child and then rape as a young adult, CJ was already dealing with a huge amount of trauma at such a young age. However, life was about to get a lot more difficult when she was diagnosed with Lupus and given only a few years to live.
She got to the point where she was bedridden and felt completely hopeless, life wasn’t worth living anymore. It was at her lowest point that she desperately sought the help of a Tibetan Lama (may have spelt that incorrectly!) and upon using his advice, she slowly began to regain her health and ultimately put her condition into remission.
She is the true embodiment of turning a negative into a positive and so I’m really excited to for you to listen to this episode
If you want to reach out to her, please email her via email at cj@cjscarlet.com

How Pam Wild overcame an illness that had her bedridden for 8 years
00:55:29
The week’s guest on the podcast - Pam Wild!
Pam has an incredible story which began with her living a normal, enjoyable life. She was a stay at home mum with looking after her young son, enjoying spending precious time with him in the first few years of his life.
Just before her son was about to go to pre-school, she developed a neck ache. This ache would not go away with normal rest and treatment and in fact began to worsen. It got so bad that within two week’s, she was bedridden and disabled.
She couldn’t leave her house, she could barely walk, talk or eat and it was like this for the next 8 years...
After so long being so sick, most people would assume that this was how their lives would be, not Pam... she took matters into her own hands and began researching and testing everything that could be wrong and finally made the breakthrough that would lead to her recovery...
She’s the perfect example of why not to give up and so I’m really excited to release this episode 😊

How Dean Winsley got to the root cause of his chronic illness after a decade of suffering
01:02:27
This week on the show - Dean Winsley 🙌🏼
Deans story resonates with me so much on a personal level for a number of different reasons:
1. He was dealing with this for over 10 years as I have been 2. His issues stem from environmental toxicity 3. He was 22 when he got sick and this was at the age when he was playing football, going out and drinking and just being a normal 20 something year old, again just like me. 4. It was this transition from his old life to his new life that he found so difficult, again, something that resonates
That being said, he ultimately identified the root cause of his issues and went from being unemployed (due to his sickness) and living on his sister’s conservatory floor to being back in full time employment, married with his first child on the way.
His story is inspirational to me and my own situation and I’m sure it will also be to anyone listening in this week.
Please look him up on Facebook if you wish to connect!

How Pauline Mouldon went from being barely able to walk to doing yoga 2 hours a day....
00:53:41
This week on the podcast @paulinemoldoun
Pauline was a professional dancer, incredibly talented and with a bright future but then she began noticing weird symptoms with her joints and developed horrific injuries, she even got to the point where she had to be in a wheelchair.
She went from doctor to doctor and none of them knew what was wrong. Finally, she came across a doctor who recognised what was wrong and diagnosed her with EDS. This began a long journey of trial and error in an attempt to find what worked for her.
These days, she is able to do yoga and exercise for hours at a time and is incredibly grateful for the gifts her condition gave her.

How Kelli Tennant overcame 15 years of Fibromyalgia hell to now living her best life!!
01:06:34
This week on the show - Kelli Tennant!!!
I’ve been excited to have Kelli on the show for some time for two reasons:
1. Her story is very close to mine in terms of the length of time she was ill and the paths she went down and I know many of you will feel the same
2. She has placed a massive emphasis on the power of the mind in her recovery. I’ve mentioned psychedelics and ayahuasca a number of times and how they are more and more interesting to me in terms of healing and these are areas which Kelli knows a lot about and so I’m excited for you to listen to those particular areas.

How James Abbot overcame chronic illness, malaria, amnesia and blindness to recover to live an amazing life
00:58:47
This week on the podcast - James Abbot 🙌🏼
I don’t say this lightly but James probably has one of the craziest stories if not the craziest story I’ve had so far on the podcast...
By the time he was 15, he had lost all memory before the age of 10, lost his sight in one eye and had almost died being trapped underwater for 21 minutes... all of these things resulting from three separate accidents.
One of these things happening to a child would be traumatic enough but 3?! This would just be the start of it for James unfortunately as he then developed a chronic illness that would destroy his joints, cover his skin with boils and gave him such severe stomach issues that he was going to the toilet 10 times a day EVERY DAY... and this went on for a decade throughout his 20s until he was able to find a cure for his condition and slowly but surely, recovered his health...
Really excited for this one.... 😀

For me, Lauren is absolute inspiration. The number of conditions she was diagnosed with seems endless when you look at the list - mold toxicity, EBV, SIBO, Lyme Disease, POTS, endometriosis, breast implant toxicity, babesia and parasites - CRAZY!
Lauren was able to overcome all of this and now is a trained chronic illness specialist, helping others overcome their own chronic issues. Her outlook and approach is so refreshing that I am scheduling an appointment with her myself.
Anyway, If you’re going through a tough time at the moment and are in need of inspiration... tune into this week’s episode

How Kelly Burnett Recovered from Chronic Pain, Depression, and Anxiety by Going All-In on Nutrition and Mindset
00:43:39
On today’s episode, we have Kelly Burnett.
A few years ago, Kelly was living a happy life with her then-fiance. She was living the life until one day, she felt a sharp pain in her spine. A few days weeks later, the pain spread all throughout her body.
Kelly consulted a lot of doctors and diagnosed her with Lyme disease but upon further tests, the results are negative. She lost the will to live and got filled with anxiety.
Her pivotal moment was when she surrendered everything to God, and turned her attention to going all-in on nutrition and changing her mindset.
How Jo Foster Recovered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
00:46:47
Today’s guest on the show, Jo Foster.
In a matter of weeks in 2014, Jo went from living a normal busy life of a 20-something to becoming bed-bound with overwhelming fatigue and such a long list of other symptoms
She was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and told by Doctors to expect to spend the rest of her life in bed. This wasn’t an option for her so she started doing tiny bits of research when the energy allowed, implementing diet and lifestyle changes and started to see glimmers of improvement that powered her forward.
As her energy grew, she threw everything she had into healing – researching, learning, experimenting and evolving.
Fast forward to today, healing from and thriving after ME/CFS has become her life’s work and she is now studying a three year nutrition course so she can continue her research and be able to support others going through similar health challenges.
How Nicole Oliva Recovered from Crohn's Disease, SIBO, Blood Clots and Declining Mental Health
00:53:28
On today’s episode, we have Nicole Oliva, a Crohn’s disease survivor and mental health advocate.
Nicole got diagnosed at the early age of 17 and she shares her journey on how she dealt with Crohn’s disease and SIBO - along with other complications like blood clots and limping.
You’ll also learn how Crohn’s disease affected her mental state, how a major surgery called Ileocecal Resection and getting into spirituality became a life-changer for her.
How Sarah Espi Treated Lyme Disease in a Different Way To Make a Full Recovery
00:45:33
On today’s episode, we have Sarah Espi.
Sarah was in a garden and got bit by a bug. After a week, she developed a rash and unpleasant flu. Her GP told that it was a normal reaction to the bite, until in a span of 6 months, she went from being a healthy 20 something to a bed-ridden one.
A doctor confirmed that her illness is Lyme disease and was told that she was ‘cured’ but deep down she felt that it wasn’t. She tried various protocols to get better until she found one that worked for her. Upon further research, she realized that there’s no one-off solution with Lyme and there are a lot of areas that you need to attend to - not just physical.
Fast forward to today, Sarah is thriving and wants to show people that having Lyme is not a death sentence.
That’s why In 2018, Sarah launched a blog called “Ticked Off With Lyme” as a resource for people with Lyme Disease. This site is for people fighting back to regain health and recovery.
How Ayahuasca is Helping Me Heal My Chronic Illness
00:41:45
In today’s episode, I want to take a break from the usual interview format to share something about my recent Ayahuasca journey and how I feel it is helping me overcome my chronic illness.
Having these interviews with people who've been on the same journey that I’m going through and healed from their chronic illness opened my eyes to the possibilities that plant medicine can help me - especially Ayahuasca.
I share in detail the journey that I went through during the retreat and how it’s changed me for good...

How Jami Emerson Recovered From Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & Depression & is Now a Serial Entrepreneur With a Bright Future
01:02:32
On today’s show, we have Jami Emerson. Jami, like many others that we've had on the podcast before, had a seemingly very normal, healthy life with a normal trajectory only for that suddenly to be taken away when she began to develop debilitating symptoms that eventually was diagnosed as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Her life trajectory completely changed but rather than dwell on the cards that she was dealt, she vowed that she would focus on her recovery and set a crazy goal of moving to Australia and being recovered by that time.
Fast forward to today, she's living in Sydney Australia and is thriving. She has recovered from CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), and gone on to set up a number of different start-up businesses.
In 2019, Jami founded a company called Chronic Hope, a charity organization geared toward helping those that deal with chronic illness. It’s aim is to fight the isolation of chronic illness through community, connection and awareness. Jami also hosts a podcast called Sound Of Hope and something coming up called the House of Hope.

In a cruel twist of fate, she herself began developing chronic issues in 2017 when her life was falling apart. Through her own will & determination and tremendous amounts of research, she was able to recover and is now living an amazing life.
Today, her primary area of disease prevention education surrounds Immune Intel AHCC + other medicinal mushrooms.

How Melanie Atkinson Used Naturopathy and Yoga to Recover from Debilitating Eczema, Asthma, and Food Allergies
00:46:23
In this episode, we have Melanie Atkinson
Melanie suffered from debilitating eczema, asthma and allergies. Stuck in the medical model she tried every treatment under the sun but things only got worse. She was perpetually exhausted and in deep despair at numerous points in her teens.
It was only when she visited a Naturopathic Nutritionist on a yoga retreat at age 27 that she truly understood why her body was so sick and what to do about it. This inspired her to study Nutritional Healing and Naturopathy, and began working deeply on her health through dietary changes, supplements and naturopathic techniques and finally woke up feeling better.
After some time, Melanie realised that working on her physical body wasn’t enough and spent the first 27 years of her life numbing and suppressing my feelings. She eventually added a daily kundalini yoga practice and then discovered Theta Healing.
Over the past 6 years, Melanie developed The MA Method based on her own health journey. This protocol goes beyond just food and supplementation where she will teach you how to use Naturopathy and Neuroscience to heal yourself and to hear what your body, mind and soul needs.

How Needhee Recovered from Thyroid Cancer, Hashimoto’s, and Founded Hypothyroid Fat-Loss Academy™
00:54:02
In this week’s episode, we have Needhee Rathore - @hypothyroid365
Needhee is the founder Hypothyroid Fat-Loss Academy™ that helps women with Hypothyroidism lose weight.
This episode is a special one because this is the first time that we’ll tackle this chronic illness in this podcast called Hypothyroidism.
Needhee is a daughter of an immigrant who grew up in California. At the age of 17, her mother noticed something on her neck which she shrugged off. After a year, the mass was actually a tumor that grew to be larger than a large egg. It was eventually diagnosed to be thyroid cancer, and everything went downhill from there.
Her thyroid cancer opened the gates to other serious chronic illnesses like Hashimoto’s, Hypothyroidism, depression, and losing her father in the middle of and so much more.
But she did not lose hope. She was able to overcome her chronic illness, get beyond it, and thrive.
How Allison Rassp Was Able to Reverse Her Hashimoto's Symptoms to Now Live a Life She Loves
00:39:30
In this episode, we have Allison Rassp from Hope with Hashimoto’s
In 2013, Allison suddenly developed an onset of mysterious symptoms. She gained 15-20 pounds out of nowhere, was sleeping 16 hour days and her hair was falling out like crazy. Allison felt depressed, anxious, and thanks to brain fog, she could barely formulate sentences.
Allison was slapped with the label of “subclinical hypothyroid” and was sent on a merry way for the next few years. In 2016, she was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease after her TPO antibodies were tested.
Fast forward to today, Allison was able to reverse almost all of her Hashimoto’s symptoms. She still has Hashimoto’s Disease on paper, but she chooses not to let the numbers define her.

How Dr. Jaban Moore Became Symptom Free From Lyme Disease
00:52:27
In this episode, we have Dr Jaban Moore - @drjabanmoore
Dr. Moore’s passion for restoring health through a multi-therapeutic approach came from a young age when his mother was diagnosed with Diabetes after a 3-year struggle trying to figure out what was causing his health to decline.
Through this experience, Dr. Moore found his mission to discover the root cause of a condition so that the progression can be stopped so the next person doesn’t have to go through a story like his.
During chiropractic school when his own health journey began he started to decline physically rapidly with no known cause at the age of 25. Over the next year, he searched for answers with many different doctors. He was experiencing fatigue, joint pain, and low testosterone. After not finding many answers from several doctors he was at a conference of functional medicine doctors. It was there he met one who suggested the possibility of Lyme disease. After some testing and further investigation, Dr. Moore was found to be positive for Lyme.
This began his journey of learning how to treat Lyme; and after consulting several doctors and trying many treatments, Dr.Moore found relief and has been symptom-free for over 5 years now.

How Dr. Stephanie Healed & Overcame Panic Attacks, IBS, Gut Infections, Celiac Disease and More
00:50:15
In this episode, we have Dr. Stephanie Canestraro. Stephanie suffered since she was a child with multiple undiagnosed food sensitivities due to gut infections that she did not know she had, and unfortunately that no doctors looked into. This went on for so long it eventually turned into microvilli damage or Celiac disease.
This led to a lack of nutrient absorption and leaky gut which turned into a full-blown inflammatory nervous system attack. This had doctors investigating for Multiple Sclerosis and many other scary causes for neurodegeneration…eventually they called it “Benign Fasciculation Syndrome”
She also experienced full-blown panic attacks, hair fall, and gastrointestinal urgencies.
Stephanie took things into her own hands and spent thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars in education to figure it out, get a better gut-brain association, and soothe her destroyed insides.

Carly Brown's Journey To Healing Thyroid Cancer Without Surgery
00:48:54
In this episode, I’m excited to have Carly Brown (@carlyloveskale) on the show. Carly’s greatest influences growing up were from her Catholic Italian grandparents who lived around the corner from her and brought the whole family together for big pasta dinners on Sunday afternoon.
She was carrying 20 extra pounds with skin inflamed, and felt more like a prisoner in her own body. Carly became a vegetarian in an effort to get her health back on track and gain control of her body and appetite…and she did. She even went on a 3-month trip to India to fulfill her dreams, and volunteered in a reforestation village to run a kitchen and fed 30+ people who lived there.
After the retreat she built her own businesses, and events based on wellness and holistic health; and in a sudden turn of events, Carly got diagnosed with Thyroid cancer.
This Intro is not enough to summarize her journey but tune in to this episode to learn about her amazing journey to healing.

Lindsay’s Recovery Journey From Lyme and Other Co-Infections Through Brain Re-Training Neuroplasticity
01:02:46
Lindsay’s story of chronic illness began as a teen when she tested positive for Epstein-Barr virus. While studying to be a physician assistant in South America, She fell ill to various parasites that kept her fatigued with gut issues after returning to the U.S.
During a trip to the Redwoods, a tick bite unleashed the “perfect storm” — a build up of biological and environmental toxins due to years of exposure.
She tested positive for Lyme disease, multiple parasites, systemic candidiasis, and other co-infections.
Her doctors told her to make herself comfortable—that her diagnoses were something she'd have to deal with for the rest of her life. But she rejected this.
I began reading about the brain's ability to change—a concept referred to as neuroplasticity—and made the decision to begin brain retraining.
Once she begin to master this process and learned how to calm the stress response, her symptoms didn’t just improve...they began to disappear and within 8 months, she was totally better
Fast forward to 2018, Lindsay founded Vital-Side - a neuroplasticity based healing program that helps chronically ill or stressed people go from fight-flight-or freeze to rest-and-digest
This is a really exciting subject for me to talk about
