If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I’m big on Mindset. I believe it is the number one factor in determining success of an individual. 17 Mar 2022 | Leadership Can Be Joyful with Amy Porterfield | 00:21:40
Creating a “Joyful Business” is definitely easier said than done, especially when you feel the weight of your company and the success of your team on your shoulders. Despite the challenges, there have been many successful female entrepreneurs who have done so. One of them is someone who has almost become a household name in the entrepreneur field, Amy Porterfield. I’ve invited this tremendously successful business woman here today to share her tips and tricks of running her business over the last dozen years or so. You won’t want to miss this episode if you want in on her “secrets of success”, and you want to know how to scale your business and grow your brand while maintaining authenticity and joy throughout your team. 24 Mar 2022 | Just Do You | 00:22:56
You know that I’m big on building a JOYFUL business, and we can’t be joyful without being true to ourselves. You’ve heard it from everyone - “Just do you”, but this piece of advice can be challenging to follow because it’s natural for us to compare ourselves with others, especially as businesswomen. While it’s important to know how your competitors are doing, and keep up with content that’s trending in your niche (you don’t want to shut off the world and be completely out of the loop!), it can actually impede your growth when you are too focused on others. In other words, you start “losing yourself”, and that can negatively impact your business BIG TIME. In this episode I break down WHY authenticity is so important, how it impacts everything about your business from your marketing, to your productivity, to your revenue... This may seem cliche, but “being yourself” really does make all aspects of your business flow easier and bring you more success in the long run. Not to mention, your life will be much more joyful along the way, too! This episode will allow you to reflect upon your business and identify the ways you can be more authentic to yourself while making your business even more successful - win-win! 21 Apr 2022 | Fake It Till You Make It | 00:22:47
“Fake it till you make it.” As popular as this expression is, a lot of people feel a lot of resistance to the idea of “faking it.” Faking it can feel false, inauthentic, or even dishonest. But at its core, “fake it till you make it” is a powerful way to tap into The Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is the idea that we can attract the things we want into our lives through giving them our attention and energetically willing them to happen. This isn’t just a metaphysical idea, it also works on a psychological level! What we believe has a huge effect on how we act — and by truly opening ourselves up to new possibilities, we actually make them more probable. New possibilities such as landing that amazing client you’ve been dreaming about, being paid what you’re really worth, and becoming a thought leader in your niche. In this episode, I share specific steps that will help you get into the right mindset to attract the things you want the most. You are never going to feel 100% ready to take on new challenges… but if you’re ready to master the art of faking it till you make it, press play! In this episode, you’ll discover:

28 Apr 2022 | Change Your Relationship with Money with Karen Choi | 00:53:04
Money is the root of all evil. I’m not good with money. It’s not polite to talk about money. Many women entrepreneurs subscribe to these negative beliefs, even if it’s unconscious. We want money, but we can feel disconnected from the idea of actually making it. If we think about wealth, we picture it belonging to people who don’t look like us. These beliefs are shaped in our childhoods and have a powerful effect on the way that we relate to money throughout our lives… and in the way we run our businesses. Many women are actually resistant to the idea of earning more revenue than what they need to survive! If thinking about money makes you feel scared, uncomfortable, or ashamed, then it’s time for you to heal your money mindset. In this episode, I talk to authenticity coach Karen Choi about how to develop a healthy relationship with money, feel more confident in pursuing wealth, and empower our children with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive financially. In this episode, you’ll learn:

16 Jun 2022 | Business Lessons from my Dad | 00:18:14
In honour of Father’s Day, I’ve put together a very special episode of the Business of Thinking Big podcast. In this episode, I share six of the most insightful and powerful lessons about business that I learned from my dad.
When it comes to marketing, my dad was expert. At the time of his retirement, he was the Media Director for The Hudson’s Bay Company, and that’s just one of many high-level marketing positions that he held during his long and successful career. Though he retired before the rise of digital media, the lessons that he passed on to me are fundamental business principles that still hold up strongly today. As I’ve built a thriving business and helped other mompreneurs grow their own, his teachings have continued to guide me.

23 Jun 2022 | Overcoming Fear of Failure with Stephanie Muskat | 00:49:46
Does a fear of failure hold you back from taking big, bold steps in your business — or from launching altogether? You’re not alone! As entrepreneurs, we feel pressure from ALL sides. We want to impress not only our customers, but our fellow entrepreneurs, friends, and family. An offer falling flat can make us feel as though we’ve lost credibility in the eyes of our audience, which can lower our confidence… and even make us start to think about giving up.
If you want to achieve the success that you deserve, you need to be able to work through that fear… and come out the other side stronger than before!
My guest Stephanie Muskat is the founder of the mental health community Compassion in Caregiving. When Stephanie launched her first group program, she got the response that no entrepreneur wants to get… crickets. Stephanie could have let this kill her confidence. Instead, she sat back and followed my #1 piece of advice when it comes to fear of failure — and wound up feeling even better about her business than before her launch!
Listen now to discover: · Where our deepest fears of failures stem from and why women in particular are so strongly affected · My #1 tip for preventing your launch from becoming a source of overwhelming worry · The silver lining that hides inside our failures — and how to use it to become a better business owner

30 Jun 2022 | My fave Business Books Part 4 | 00:29:02
Summer is here and you know what that means: it’s time for my Top 10 Favourite Business Books! If you get to enjoy a little downtime during the warmer months (and I hope that you do!), these are the books that I highly recommend tucking into your luggage or your beach tote in the coming weeks. These aren’t necessarily books that are hot off the presses, but each of them contains resonant business insights or strategies, no matter when they were first published. This year, I’ve made an effort to seek out and include more diverse authors in this list since exploring new perspectives is a great way to expand your own, and I’d love to have more of my mamapreneurs recognize elements of their own experiences! This year’s list covers both mindset and business strategy, and includes books about implementing habits, cold calling, harnessing your energy, dealing with doubt and fear, and lessons on meditation written by a monk. You can think of it as a display case for your unique value — it doesn’t need to be fully loaded, but it should contain some eye-catching items that make your audience sit up and take notice! While many of us struggle to put our juiciest selling points into words, you actually have a full arsenal of benefits that you can use to attract the sale… even if you haven’t yet realized it! 21 Jul 2022 | The Art of Receiving | 00:42:30
Are you unknowingly telling your potential customers that you aren’t worth their investment?? It’s not easy to ask for what we want and sometimes it can be hard to accept what we need — or even what we have earned. In order for your business to thrive, you need to be creating offers and selling those offers to people willing and eager to pay for them. This is a healthy and necessary exchange that is going to create value for both sides… but many business owners, women in particular, have trouble with the receiving side. There’s a fine art to receiving abundance that many people haven’t mastered. Some of us may even feel a little afraid or anxious when it comes to receiving wealth. In fact, many of us feel UNWORTHY of it. This resistance to receiving wealth can even prevent us from setting up the systems we need in order to organize our business finances, which can lead to very unpleasant experiences when tax season rolls around — yikes! Even worse, when you truly believe that you are unworthy to receive, you send that energy out into the universe… and the people you deal with WILL pick up on it. In this episode, you’ll learn how to identify the ways that you may be unknowingly sabotaging your own chances of success, with real-world examples and actionable solutions to help you heal your mindset! You’ll discover:

11 Aug 2022 | Team Culture with Kaitlin Sandor-Kerr | 00:38:19
‘Company culture’ is a concept that has become very popular over the past 15 years. A great company culture helps people feel connected, supported, respected, and accepted, and it can be shaped by a wide range of different things, including policies, team events, core values, dress codes, manager expectations, and especially your leadership style. Even if you’ve not yet begun to hire a team, it’s critically important to consider your company culture so that when you’re ready to expand, you’re able to attract your dream team! So how do you develop and nurture a company culture that both empowers your team to bring their A game and keeps them excited about your mission? Kaitlin Sandor-Kerr is the founder of Toronto-based boutique HR consultancy Support Panda, which offers virtual HR Support for small businesses and start-ups. In this episode of the Business of Thinking Big, we dive deep into company culture, including what it REALLY means, why it’s so important, who should have input, and how developing your own company culture starts with discovering what you already have in place — and reinforcing the things that are already working! In this episode, you’ll discover:

04 Aug 2022 | How to Say No | 00:35:13
Saying “No” — and sticking to it — is a skill that it has taken me years to (almost) master. Although it can feel a little uncomfortable to draw boundaries, this skill is absolutely vital to have in your toolbox as a business owner, and especially as a mompreneur. Chances are, much of your time is spent serving other peoples’ agendas, from creating no-bake cheesecake bars for the bake sale to serving on a Board of Directors for a community organization… and this is on top of driving to swim practice, picking up from sleepovers, or doing the weekly grocery shop! With such a limited amount of time available to us, we MUST ensure that we are taking on the tasks and opportunities that are worth our time and energy. And when it comes to our businesses, we need to make sure that we’re saying “Yes!” to the tasks and opportunities that are most aligned with our goals — and in order to do that, we can’t let ourselves be caught up with projects and clients that aren’t serving our greater purpose. Remember: when one door closes, a million doors open! This episode is all about creating more time freedom in your schedule, and learning how to recognize and leverage the amount of choice you actually have in how you spend your time (great news: you have more choice than you realize!). BONUS: I also share a script that will help you politely decline the not-portunities that come your way. In this episode, you’ll discover:

18 Aug 2022 | Stop Settling in your Business | 00:21:14
When it comes to your business (and the rest of your life, for that matter), it’s time to stop settling for “good enough!” You deserve to be serving the kind of clients you want to work with, making the kind of money that will fuel your desired lifestyle, and doing the type of work that lights you up and aligns with your purpose and goals. So… why do so many of us settle for a business that is just okay? Yes, as mompreneurs, we can be a little short on time! But once we fall into a pattern of “just keeping up” with our content, sales, and marketing, rather than growing, then our business isn’t thriving — it’s only surviving. In this episode, I’ll help you define your five-year vision, get really clear and detailed on your goals, and start taking the impactful actions that will help you build the business and lifestyle that you truly deserve. Grab a pen and notebook, you’ll definitely want to take some notes for this one! In this episode, you’ll discover:

No matter how great your strategy is, mindset remains a critical piece of the puzzle when it comes to turning your ideas into confident action, making greater impact, and reaping the rewards. 01 Sep 2022 | Overcoming the Fear of Visibility | 00:28:55
What does your brand’s Instagram look like? Is your page full of impersonal images and motivational quotes from other people… without a single picture of you to be seen? Now more than ever, creating a personal connection with your audience is essential! People want to understand your values and know that there is a real person behind the screen before they decide whether they want to work with you. If you want to be successful, you need to get comfortable with being a little vulnerable. Yvonne Chavez is one of my amazing A-Players and the founder and CEO of Lotus Fitness Studio, an outdoor studio located in Whittier, California with a focus on wellness and community. In order to grow her business, she needed to step up and move into the spotlight as the face and voice of her brand — something that Yvonne (and many other women entrepreneurs) often find challenging. In this episode of the Business of Thinking Big, we talk about the journey from beginner business owner to seasoned and successful leader of an empire, why it’s so important to be authentic and visible, and why being an entrepreneur can sometimes feel like living a double life! 08 Sep 2022 | Refocusing after a Break | 00:26:07
We all need breaks. When I say “break,” I’m not talking about taking a few moments away from work to change a dirty diaper or drive the kids to soccer practice. We all need REAL downtime where we are able to fully unplug and step away from our obligations and responsibilities for a little while — this is essential in terms of being able to recharge and avoid burnout. As mompreneurs, we’re conditioned to feel needed all the time and that often leads us to feel guilty when we consider taking some time away from our businesses to just be present for ourselves or for our families. Even worse, when we actually DO schedule some downtime, we can wind up experiencing overwhelm when we return to work and feel as though we need to work twice as hard just to catch up — yikes! Working HARDER isn’t the key to being successful. If you want to be a focused and capable leader for your team and for your clients, you need to create a healthy balance that allows you to show up refreshed and ready to shine. In other words, taking breaks is actually GOOD for your business! In this episode, I share my top strategies for re-focusing after a break and getting the biggest benefit from your downtime. 27 Oct 2022 | Unexpected Growth | 00:27:54
The last couple of years have been a time of transition for many people… and for many small businesses. The slower pace of business these days may have you feeling impatient or frustrated — full disclosure, I can feel a little bit impatient myself at times! But it’s important to understand that each person who considers your offers will be at a different stage of readiness, and you won’t always get that instant YES. These days, many of the people considering your offers will need some time to marinate, even when they TRULY want to work with you… and that’s okay. I can tell you right now, patience is definitely a virtue when it comes to entrepreneurship! When we hold specific expectations for the ways that things “should” happen in our businesses, it can be very easy to overlook growth and opportunities that don’t match our expectations. When we don’t match up to a specific internalized idea of success, we can feel as though we’re failures or imposters. It’s time to reconsider the way that you think about growth… and realize that you may be more successful than you give yourself credit for! In this episode, you’ll discover:

08 Dec 2022 | Moving Through Money Blocks | 00:46:15
Are you ready to start feeling better about money, so that you can make MORE of it — joyfully and on your own terms? Women, and particularly women entrepreneurs, have a tendency to hold themselves back when it comes to having MORE — more wealth, more prosperity, more abundance. Often, this resistance to having more stems from unconscious beliefs that we hold about money, beliefs that we learned as children and that have been passed down to us by our families, our mentors, and society as a whole. Our beliefs about money can create powerful money blocks that hold us back from making our biggest, boldest power moves… and even make us feel guilty for wanting to be paid what we’re actually worth! This can lead us to undervalue our offers, to choose not pursue the biggest and juiciest contracts, and to think small rather than thinking BIG. Healing your money mindset will have incredible benefits, not only for your business but for your overall life goals. Tune in to learn how to recognize and move through your money blocks, and why wanting MORE doesn’t make you greedy or selfish… it can actually help you create an even bigger impact! In this episode, you’ll discover:

23 Feb 2023 | Spring Cleaning your Mindset | 00:23:12
Spring cleaning isn’t just something that you do for your home. It’s also something that you can do for your mindset. (And guess what — you don’t have to wait for spring in order to get started.) Mindset work is ALWAYS ongoing. It isn’t a “set it and forget it” type of deal. If you want to continue to grow, evolve, and improve, it’s important to consciously return to this internal work (even if it’s just for a quick finetuning!). Throughout the year, you may find that you feel more or less in flow and in alignment at certain times. Often, these are tied to the seasons — you may find yourself feeling a little less aligned during the winter, and more rejuvenated and ready to move forward as the spring thaw approaches. Other times, these shifts are linked to personal situations or events that we may be dealing with. In this episode, I share how to recognize your internal cycles, patterns, and traumas, how to effectively “spring clean” your mindset, and real-life examples of some of the biggest mindset challenges that I have faced as a business owner. Even businesses with a brick-and-mortar storefront need to step up their online game, as 76% of customers will check out a business’s website first, before setting foot in their store. If your website isn’t doing the job of helping you get customers, then it isn’t truly helping your business. So, how can you turn a low-performing website into sales-crushing secret weapon? Let’s ask the experts! In this episode, I sit down with Kelley Gibson and Andrea Krones of the wonderful Inkling Design, a client-focused, results-driven graphic design and website development studio that values interpersonal relationships as highly they do their expertise! 09 Mar 2023 | Cultivating Patience | 00:27:20
Patience may be a virtue, but it doesn’t come easily to all of us. In fact, I count myself as an impatient person. But one thing that I’ve learned over my years of helping others grow their businesses (as well as growing my own!), is that patience is an absolutely essential entrepreneurial skill. The key is that, as business owners, we need to learn to blend our patience with proactivity — this potent combination is what helps us to take action, and to give ourselves grace when our actions don’t always lead to the results that we desire! When we hit the right balance between patience and productivity, we are less likely to fall victim to frustration, anger, resentment, and other negative emotions that can distract us from pursuing our real goals. As a bonus, hitting this balance can also help us to become the type of leader (and human being) that we want to be! In this episode, you’ll discover:

16 Mar 2023 | Success on our own Terms | 00:58:55
What does success mean to you? While every entrepreneur is seeking it, we all have different definitions of what success means for us. For many, it can mean hitting a specific monthly or yearly revenue goal. For some, it can mean being able to work from a beach for half the year. And for others, it can mean building up a roster of dream clients or having more time to spend with the family. Our version of success should reflect our own needs, goals, and values, not a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all ideal. In this episode, I speak with three incredible members of the Mamas & Co. community, each with a completely different business, story, and journey — and in this fascinating conversation, they share their unique experiences and versions of success! From finding the right balance between feeling comfortable and feeling brave, to ensuring that actions are aligned with values, we explore how each of these amazing mompreneurs has built a fulfilling and profitable business… and how the Mamas & Co. community has helped them along the way! 06 Apr 2023 | Finish Line Mindset | 00:26:27
As entrepreneurs, we often experience situations where our expectations don’t quite match our results. Whether it’s a masterclass that doesn’t sell out, a dream client that decides against working with us, a speaking invitation that isn’t extended, or a launch that just seems to fizzle out, these situations can feel emotionally painful. We can wind up feeling as though they are the result of who we are as people, rather than the decisions that we make as business owners — or even external situations that have nothing to do with us! When we feel that we’re not “good enough” to succeed, that mindset will affect the actions that we take in the future, and it can stop us from making the bold moves that will help us to grow. While entrepreneurship offers some really incredible and fulfilling highs, disappointment is an inevitable part of the journey… and we need to be prepared. When we’re able to detach ourselves emotionally from our results, release the need to control our outcomes, and stop comparing ourselves to others, that’s when true entrepreneurship begins! In this episode, you’ll learn what can happen when you stop associating your business results with your self worth, the difference between moving through a challenge and pushing through a challenge, and why I always honour my calendar (even when it may not seem worth my time to do so). If you’ve been considering hiring a business coach, but want to learn more about what to expect before you take the leap, then this episode is for you! I sit down with the amazing Jenny Friedman, a registered pediatric dietitian who specializes in helping families with extremely picky eaters overcome their mealtime challenges. Nearly two years into running her business, Jenny began to feel as though she had reached a plateau — not only was she no longer seeing steady growth, but it was getting harder to achieve the same results. Jenny knew that things needed to change in order for growth to happen… so she enlisted the support of a business coach (me!). During this conversation, we dive into why Jenny decided to invest in coaching, what kind of changes she was hoping to make in her business, and the shifts and tweaks that she implemented in order to see some amazing results! In this episode, you’ll learn:

27 Apr 2023 | Leadership Mindset with Rasholeen Nakra | 00:35:13
Working with a business coach can help established business owners uplevel their sales strategies, finetune their messaging, and better organize their offers, so that they can grow with more ease — but it can also help first-time business owners make the shift from corporate life to successful entrepreneurship.
My guest for this episode is Rasholeen Nakra, the Director of North York’s Angelic Treasures Christian Daycare, which provides children with a “learn through play” environment and the space and guidance to explore, create, learn, and grow.
Prior to shifting into the childcare field, Rasholeen worked as a consultant in the oil and gas industry. After realizing that there was a lack of high-quality childcare available in her area, she decided to fill that gap herself. She discovered the Angelic Treasures franchise, and her daycare now provides childcare and French learning services to 89 children of all faiths.
While she’s turned a struggling business into a success, the road wasn’t always smooth. As a first-time business owner, Rasholeen needed to learn entrepreneurship from A-Z —operations, team management, and more. In this episode, she shares the incredible insights that have helped her expand her business, why she has shifted her business goals, and how she developed her leadership role despite being a reluctant leader.
In this episode, you’ll discover: · How Rasholeen discovered her personal leadership style and cultivated a learning culture in her business · How she ensures that her team members have clarity when it comes to her vision · How she managed to grow her daycare during the pandemic period, when parents were increasingly working from home
Guest bio: Rasholeen is the Director of Angelic Treasures Christian Daycare, North York. She is a mompreneur who has the vision to create daycare learning centers where children will blossom and parents will rest easy, knowing that their child is in good hands.

01 Jun 2023 | Master your Messaging | 00:24:36
Is the energy that you’re putting out into the world attracting the clients that you truly want to work with? This episode of The Business of Thinking Big was inspired by conversations I’ve been having lately with women entrepreneurs who are struggling with their lead generation — either they’re not getting enough leads into their businesses, or they’re not getting that higher caliber of client that they’d love to be serving. Both of these issues can be traced back to one thing: their marketing efforts. Your marketing is a magnet. The right marketing will attract the RIGHT people to your business. The wrong marketing will repel them, and leave you with leads that are less than desirable... or even no leads at all! In order to be effective (and get the results that you crave!), your marketing needs to connect with the people who need EXACTLY what you offer, communicate your value, and get them excited to experience what it’s like to work with YOU! In this episode, I break down the biggest and most common mistakes that I see people make when putting their offer out into the world, and share my best tips for mastering your messaging and perfecting your positioning. In this episode, you’ll discover:

15 Jun 2023 | Front-of-the-Class Mentality | 00:20:27
When you enter a classroom, yoga studio, or a seminar, where do you sit? Do you make a beeline for the front row, or tuck yourself away at the back of the room? Your answer to this question may reveal something about your relationship to risk! Front-of-the-class mentality means being comfortable with being seen. Back-of-the-class mentality, on the other hand, means protecting yourself from risk and judgment. Sitting in the back of the room gives you an easy way out and lets you avoid attracting too much attention. Often, we wind up in the back because we believe that we just aren’t READY to move forward. The difference between sitting in the back and sitting in the front can be like night and day, in terms of the quality of your experience and the benefits you may receive. We can start off with a back-of-the-class mentality and then shift to a front-of-the-class mentality as we grow more confident in our skills and knowledge. In your own business, there may be areas where you have a back-of-the-class mentality and consider yourself to be a beginner in need of a safe exit strategy. This can lead to you playing smaller and missing out on powerful opportunities for growth! By shifting into a front-of-the-class mindset, you open yourself up to learning new things, gaining new skills, making mistakes, and learning from them. In this episode, you’ll discover:

17 Jul 2023 | MM: Further Than You Think | 00:15:06
One thing that I’ve noticed during my many years of coaching high-achieving, brilliant, and ambitious women is that we have a tendency to be VERY hard on ourselves. Having big goals and aspirations is wonderful, but we can wind up feeling disappointed and being overly critical of ourselves when things don’t go according to plan or happen on our desired or expected schedule. You’re not going to grow a successful, thriving, and joyful business when you’re focused on being hard on yourself! This is a long journey, not a quick sprint, and you need to show yourself grace and celebrate the wins that you’ve already achieved. In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, I share why you must remember that you are further ahead than you think you are — and how focusing on your success can help to multiply it! Listen now to learn:

20 Jul 2023 | Living the Dream | 00:31:50
When you are your own boss, you get to set your own rules and do things differently. But would you say that you are living the dream? There are as many different versions of “the dream” as there are entrepreneurs. For some, it might mean spending part of the year working in another country (or on the beach!). For others, it could mean structuring your week so that you can spend more time with your family. And some might consider the dream to be shifting to a new business model altogether. Your version of the dream may not necessarily be easy, simple, neat, or convenient. It may require more time, more planning, more flexibility, or more buy-in from your team. But your dream is waiting to be claimed… and there is always a way to make it happen! In this episode, I share my own version of the dream and how I have made it a reality for myself and my family. Tune in to learn how I got clear on what my dream really was, what we did to make it happen, and what YOU can learn from my journey! In this episode, you’ll discover:

31 Jul 2023 | MM: Belief in Self | 00:11:43
Getting the life of your dreams very, very rarely comes down to luck alone! There is a lot of inner work that must be done in order to build the life and business of your dreams. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours coaching people at different stages of success on how to set their goals, how to build their businesses, and how to shift their mindsets. One thing that has stood out to me is this: the people that seem to have the life and business of their dreams didn’t always have it all figured out! The big difference between these people and others who were still wishing and hoping is that they took the time to do the INNER work. Through this inner work, they were able to truly believe in their goals and dreams (well before it was even rational to do so!). They were able to truly believe in their own ability to bring them to fruition… and then they did exactly that! In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover how to shift your mindset regarding your biggest goals from “That feels impossible” to “I’ve got this!” Listen now to learn:

Along the way, Heather shares some truly inspirational and actionable golden nuggets — you won’t want to miss it! In this episode, you’ll discover:

07 Aug 2023 | MM: Money Mindset Hack | 00:11:03
Money mindset is something that comes up in my work with women entrepreneurs quite frequently — maybe more than any other topic relating to mindset! There are a few reasons why so many women struggle with their money mindset. Women often feel as though they’ve fallen into the business world by accident, and their lack of business background leaves them feeling unconfident and overwhelmed by the financial side of their business. Not only that, but as women we’re largely conditioned by society to believe that we are “frivolous” or “bad with money,” and these limiting beliefs can be deeply ingrained in us even before we reach our teen years! We also tend to struggle with pricing our offers, and can be held back by imposter syndrome or the fear of seeming “greedy.” In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover how to rehabilitate your money mindset, build a healthier and more productive relationship with your own professional ambition, and start earning what you are worth! 10 Aug 2023 | The Brand Experience | 00:24:09
We’ve all had the experience of walking into a store or buying a service online, and knowing almost immediately that it would be the first and only time. We’ve also had the experience of revisiting a shop or a website again and again (sometimes when we aren’t even looking to buy anything!). What sets these experiences apart? It’s the way that each particular business makes you feel. Brand experience goes FAR beyond just the delivery of a product or service. It includes your marketing, your communication, your positioning, your customer service, your aesthetic — even your physical store layout, if you’re a brick-and-mortar business. And when it comes to brand experience, small details can make a big impact! What does your business look like through the eyes of your customers? What is it like to engage with your brand — and how do you keep people coming back for more? In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I explore a case study of a business that offers a brand experience so fantastic that it actually had me revisiting their shop multiple times a week and spending money each time. Listen now to discover actionable tips that will help any type of business create an irresistible brand experience! In this episode, you’ll learn:

14 Aug 2023 | MM: Why You're Not Living Your Dreams | 00:10:16
“Living the dream.” That’s what we’re all working toward, but why does it seem to fall just out of reach for so many people? Why aren’t more of us living the dream right now? Now, if your version of living the dream is owning your own island, that’s one thing! But for most of us, living the dream shouldn’t be so elusive. Quite often, our dream lives can be attained through smaller shifts, rather than dramatic changes. Whether it’s travelling more, having more time to spend with your family, or enjoying a creative outlet, our dreams are often closer to reality than we might think. In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover three major reasons why so many women are not living their dreams right now — and how you can get off the hamster wheel and start building the life that you want and deserve! 17 Aug 2023 | Manifesting your Dreams with Rebecca Lane | 00:56:44
Can manifestation really help you build a life that you love? My guest for this episode of The Business of Thinking Big is Rebecca Lane, a violinist who has blended her love of music with her entrepreneurial spirit to create something incredible… and she credits manifestation with helping her reach her biggest goals! Rebecca is the founder of the Lane School of Music. As a musician, she entered the business world with a scarcity mindset, which she needed to shed in order to dream bigger. While she launched the school out of a spare room in her house, the school now offers lessons to over 700 students through its multiple locations! Rebecca now coaches other music school owners to shift from a ‘starving artist’ mindset to one of abundance. During our conversation, Rebecca and I explore the concept of manifestation: what it is (and isn’t!), how it actually works, and how it can work for YOU. The truth is that we are all always manifesting, whether we know it or not. The key? Manifesting with intention to create a joyful life and business! In this episode, you’ll discover:
Guest bio: Once a freelancing violinist, Rebecca has transformed her career to entrepreneur, coach, and 7-figure business owner. Starting with a violin studio of a handful of students in her home, Rebecca now owns a music school with over 50 team members and 4 locations. 21 Aug 2023 | MM: New Approach to Goals | 00:10:29
Over the years that I’ve spent coaching entrepreneurs, I’ve seen far too many fall into the trap of becoming obsessed with their goals. Becoming overly fixated on achieving one specific outcome makes it harder to maintain the flexibility that is needed to pivot or shift your goals when necessary. When this rigidity and singlemindedness leads you to try to force a particular result, chances are you will not even come close to the finish line — and this can discourage you from trying again in the future. What we need to do as a collective is shift the way that we approach our goals. In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover how to cultivate a healthier mindset around goal-setting — one that feels better each and every step of the way! Listen now to learn:

Have you ever considered adding coaching to your offers… but weren’t sure how to get started or whether your dream clients really want your expertise? If so, then you won’t want to miss this episode of The Business of Thinking Big! My guest Kaely Harrod is a doula, educator, coach, and host of the Doula Tips and Tits podcast. Through her doula business, she ensures that families are educated to meet their desired goals for their births to the best of their ability (while also leaving space for the unknowns)! More recently, Kaely has begun to offer coaching to other doulas, and actually revamped her entire podcast to cater to this new market! In this episode, Kaely and I discuss how she “accidentally” became a six-figure business, the finer points of successfully layering an entirely new business model into an existing business, and how being an A Player has helped her build a thriving and joyful business — one that has allowed her change some of the outdated narratives in and around her industry! In this episode, you’ll discover:
Guest bio: Kaely has supported hundreds of families in the perinatal space for over 12 years. She now has a thriving doula business supporting and educating families and coaching doulas. 28 Aug 2023 | MM: Visualization Tips | 00:10:17
If you want to achieve your goals with more ease, then I highly recommend taking the same advice that you give your kids: use your imagination! A big part of how I’ve achieved many of my dreams, from building a 7-figure business to spending a summer in France with a family, is through visualization. Part of the amazing power of visualization is that your brain cannot tell the difference between a vividly imagined scenario and the real thing — it can’t differentiate between reality and your detailed mental “rehearsal.” When you are visualizing, you are essentially priming your brain to experience that specific event in the future. This is why so many top athletes, speakers, and executives swear by visualization as a preparation tool or a daily practice. In this Mindset Monday mini-episode, you’ll discover how to use visualization to achieve your own goals with more ease! Listen now to learn:

31 Aug 2023 | How to Choose the Right Business Coach | 00:28:16
Did you know that over 90% of all seven-figure business owners are working with coaches? As a matter of fact, you can count me among that number! Hiring a business coach can definitely help you take your business from start-up to scale-up with more ease, confidence, and joy, but it’s also a BIG investment — and I’m not just talking about money! Working with a business coach also requires a sizeable investment of your time and energy. When you’re working with the right coach at the right time, this can lead to incredible ROI that you will benefit from for years to come. On the other hand, when you’re working with a coach that isn’t a good fit for you or your business, you may not see those same amazing benefits as quickly. So, how do you choose the right coach? And how do you know when it’s time to get started? In this episode of The Business of Thinking Big, I reveal my top tips and tricks for growing your business more quickly with your best-fit business coach. 07 Sep 2023 | Levelling-Up your Mind & Business with Jaime Gennaro | 00:46:39
Sometimes the business that you’ve built is no longer the business that you want to run — and in order to regain your passion, drive, and joy, you may need to make some changes. This could look like updating your ideal client avatar, retooling your offers, or shifting to an entirely new business model… or it might just mean recognizing the ways in which you’re already closer to your dream business than you may think! My amazing guest Jaime Gennaro is a business coach and consultant who is on a mission to take the pain away from entrepreneurship and business ownership! Jaime teaches her clients the tactics that help them connect to their own unique way of running their business and lead their teams with joy, rather than just following the crowd and relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. When I met Jaime, she was already running a VERY successful business, but she didn’t feel that it allowed her to truly work in her zone of genius, use her strongest skill set, or experience the thrill of a challenge. During this conversation, Jaime and I discuss her business transformation, how she shifted from playing small to thinking BIGGER, and the small changes she made that allowed her to not only serve her dream clients effectively, but to continue to stretch outside of her comfort zone and feel challenged and fulfilled! 28 Sep 2023 | What I Would Do Differently | 00:23:02
This episode of The Business of Thinking Big was inspired by a thought-provoking conversation I had during a strategy call with a member of the Mamas & Co. community. During this call, Courtney Martin, founder of the amazing mamapreneur-focused Quadrant Bookkeeping, asked me: “If you were to look back on your first year of business, what would you do (or what would you do differently) now that you’ve had all this experience?” That’s a GREAT question! Over the last decade of my entrepreneurial journey (including the six years since quitting my day job), I’ve learned a lot… and much of what I’ve learned could have helped me to build my business far more quickly, joyfully, and easefully during those early years. This is why I love coaching — I love sharing my hard-won knowledge in order to help other women entrepreneurs avoid common pitfalls, understand their best next steps, access the resources they need, and make the powerful mindset shifts that will allow them to grow and scale their businesses with more confidence! In this episode, I share the top five things that I would DEFINITELY do differently if I were able to redo the first few years of building my business, knowing what I know now. Whether you’re in your first year of business or your fifth, you’ll find some valuable golden nuggets in this episode! In this episode, you’ll discover:
