She has guided JSU to four consecutive berths in the SWAC Tournament semifinals (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022), three straight berths in the conference tournament finals (2019, 2021, 2022 after 2020 tournament canceled), three straight SWAC regular season titles (2020, 2021, 2022), and two straight SWAC tournament titles and NCAA appearances (2021, 2022). In making the program's second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and the first as a #14 seed, Jackson State led in the fourth quarter in nearly achieving an historic tournament win over #3 LSU.

Colgate increased its win total by 10 games in 2022-23, finishing 16-14 overall and 10-8 in Patriot League play to secure the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League tournament. One of the greatest factors contributing to last season's success was Adeduntan's defense, which ranked ninth nationally in three-point field goal percentage defense (25.6) and 12th in scoring defense (54.6) – good enough to lead the Patriot League in both categories. Colgate finished over .500 against Patriot League opponents for the third time since 2000. Armed with a collegiate coaching résumé that includes 24 years and a head coaching record of 303-169 Sather has built a pair of national-contending basketball teams at his two head coaching stops, Black Hills State and Northern State. Prior to that, he was a five-year assistant at Northern State, his alma mater, under legendary head coach Don Meyer.
Paul Sather had tremendous success at Northern State University. In his last year as head coach, the Wolves were the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament champions, finishing the league schedule with an 18-4 record, part of a 30-6 league mark in the past two seasons. Sather's team led the NSIC in scoring defense, scoring margin, 3-point field goal percentage defense, and assists. In addition, NSU sat sixth nationally in 3-point field goal percentage.

Payne has trained over 100 NBA, WNBA, and foreign professional athletes all over the world to be better and faster. The most notable of the athletes is the three-time NBA champion and two-time MVP Steph Curry. Payne uses innovative coaching techniques to accelerate the player’s game and he believes in combining mind, body, and basketball skills to develop his players. Tasmania JackJumpers head coach Scott Roth joins the Basketball Podcast to share insights coaching a new franchise with a lifetime of experience.
In the JackJumper's first year in the NBL, the team outperformed all expectations, finishing fourth in the regular season before defeating Melbourne United in the semi-finals, progressing all the way to the grand final, losing in three games to the Sydney Kings. Roth was also awarded 'Coach of the Year for his efforts in his debut season and won the faith of his team, fanbase, and the league at large.
Roth enjoyed a playing career that saw him play 160 games in the NBA, as well as successful stints across Europe. He played games with the Utah Jazz, San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves. As an NBA coach, he served as an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, and Detroit Pistons, before a season each in Europe and the NBA G-League ultimately led to him joining the Perth Wildcats for their 2020 NBL championship campaign.

This past season Carly Clarke took home her first U SPORTS Coach of the Year, doing so on the heels of a dominant showing in the competition on their way to a conference regular season title, a conference tournament title and a national championship to cap an undefeated season. The accolade and success are just the latest in what has been a triumphant stretch for Clarke, as she also served as the Canadian national senior women’s team assistant coach at the Tokyo Games this past summer. Clarke remains with the national program as the team works towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Clarke has been head coach at Ryerson since June 2012, and part of Canadian national team programming for the last 10 years. She has won 2 OUA conference Championships and had 5 final 8 national championship appearances in 9 years. Internationally she has been head coach for 2 world championship medals and been a part of a number of staff that have won medals.
The 2021-22 season was historic for Carly Clarke, leading the Rams to an undefeated season, culminating in an OUA and U SPORTS national title. The team went 14-0 through conference play, then concluded the OUA season with a 22-point fourth quarter comeback to claim the Critelli Cup for the program's second provincial title. The team was ranked No. 1 heading into the Final 8 national championship, and the Rams defeated UPEI, Brock, and Winnipeg en route to the team's first national championship and only the second for any team at the university. Clarke was recognized with her first conference and national awards, winning the OUA Coach of the Year and U SPORTS Coach of the Year awards. At the end of the season, she was also named the OUA Coach of the Year across all sports.
As head coach the Canadian U19 Junior Women's National Team, Clarke led the squad to its first ever medal at the World Cup, claiming the bronze medal with a victory over Japan in July of 2017.
Prior to joining the Rams, Clarke spent three seasons in the head coaching position at UPEI. The Halifax, N.S. native and Level III NCCP certified coach has garnered both national and international accolades working with Canada Basketball as well as various provincial sport organizations.

Guest: Greg Kampe, Head Coach at Oakland University Numerous achievements and milestones mark Kampe’s coaching career. He is the current longest-tenured coach at a single school dating back to 1984 when Oakland was an NCAA D2 school. Kampe has coached five NBA players, led four teams to the Division 1 NCAA Tournament, and has a chance to win his 700th career game this coming season. The 2023-2024 season was particularly noteworthy for Kampe and the Golden Grizzlies. Under his leadership, Oakland won the Horizon League tournament for the first time, securing an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. As a 14-seed, they achieved a remarkable upset victory over 3-seed Kentucky in the Round of 64, marking Kampe’s first win in this tournament stage. Oakland’s only previous NCAA tourney win came in the First Four in 2005. Guest: Dustin Kerns, Head Coach Appalachian State Men's Basketball Appalachian State head coach Dustin Kerns joins the Basketball Podcast.to share insights on draft time, defense and a culture of appreciation. Kerns guided the Mountaineers to a historic season in his fifth year at the helm, securing the program's first regular season outright conference championship since the 1978-79 season, a program-record 27 wins and an NIT first-round appearance for the first time since 2006-07. The Mountaineers won 16 Sun Belt games in 2023-24 and finished with a 16-2 record, marking the best winning percentage in conference play in program history. For the third consecutive season, the Mountaineers won at least 10 home games, winning 15 games at the Holmes Center, the most in the building's era. App State was one of 12 teams in the country to be undefeated at home while shattering their regular-season attendance record. The Mountaineers finished the season 3-0 against teams that made the 2023-24 NCAA Tournament. App State's win over Auburn on December 3 made it back-to-back seasons that the Mountaineers have defeated a Power 5 opponent. Additionally, the Mountaineers were the only team in the country to post three separate winning streaks of at least eight games. Because of the team's success, Kerns was named App State's first Conference Coach of the Year since 2003. Kerns also garnered the All-District 23 Coach of the Year honors by the NABC and was named a finalist for both the Jim Phelan and High Durham Coach of the Year Awards. Kerns coaching journey started as a student assistant at Clemson, and after graduation landed his first coaching job at Tennessee Tech. Following a one-year stop as a graduate assistant at Tennessee, Kerns joined Mike Young's staff at Wofford from 2004 to 2007, then moved on to Santa Clara as an assistant from 2007 to 2013. He returned to Wofford as the associate head coach in 2013, where he was on staff for the Terriers' 2014 and 2015 NCAA Tournament appearances. On May 23, 2017, Kerns was named the head coach at Presbyterian.Kerns took over a Presbyterian program that had endured 12 straight losing seasons and a 5 win campaign the previous season. The program quickly turned around as in his 2nd season at Presbyterian, he led the Blue Hose to a 20 win season, first ever postseason berth, and quarterfinal appearance in the CIT Tournament. Kerns was named the head coach at Appalachian State on March 28, 2019. As the winningest coach in University of Toledo Women’s Basketball history, Head Coach Tricia Cullop has transformed the program into a nationally-recognized powerhouse. The 2022 WBCA Carol Eckman Integrity in Coaching Award is a testament to her success in creating space for authenticity and community on and off the court throughout her 30-year coaching career.
Under her leadership, Toledo has made nine trips to the postseason and has hung five championship banners, including a postseason WNIT title in 2011, a MAC Championship in 2017, and three MAC regular-season championships (2010-11, 2012-13, and 2021-22). The Rockets’ 2011 WNIT Championship was the first major postseason tournament title won by a Mid-American Conference team. University of Alabama head coach Nate Oats joins the Basketball Podcast to share insights into how they play and practice. Nate Oats has a 157–79 record as a D-I head coach at Buffalo and now Alabama and has many accomplishments and honors.
The immediate success became evident in his second year at the helm of the program as Oats guided the 2020-21 Crimson Tide to one of its best seasons in the program’s illustrious history. Alabama finished the year with a 26-7 overall mark, won 16 conference games (16-2), captured both the SEC regular-season and tournament championships, and ended the year ranked No. 5 in the Associated Press’ final national rankings which matched the best end-of-season ranking in program history.
Nate Oats’ has revitalized an Alabama basketball fanbase and returned the Crimson Tide to one of the top collegiate basketball programs in the nation. An indicator of Alabama’s resurgence can be seen in the last two NBA Drafts. As a coach known for developing talent, Oats has now had an Alabama player selected in the NBA Draft Lottery (top-14 pick) in back-to-back years – a first in program history.
Prior to arriving in Tuscaloosa, Oats spent four seasons at the helm of the University of Buffalo where he took the men’s basketball program to unprecedented heights. While there, Oats led the Bulls to a 96-43 (.691) record, three MAC tournament championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances, including reaching the round of 32 in 2018 and 2019. As a result, he was named the league's coach of the year and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 14 Coach of the Year in back-to-back seasons (2018 and 2019).
Prior to joining the Bulls, Oats spent 11 seasons as head coach at Romulus High School in Michigan, winning the school's first state title in 27 years in 2012-13 and finishing the season at 27-1. He was named the 2013 Detroit News State Coach of the Year, the Detroit Free Press State Coach of the Year, and the BCAM State Coach of the Year.

David Hixon, who was head men's basketball coach at Amherst College for 42 years, was named as one of the 12 inductees in the Hall of Fame's Class of 2023. Hixon, an Andover native and former Amherst player, took over as the program's head coach in 1977, just two years after he graduated college. Before retiring in 2020, Hixon racked up 826 wins and became just the third coach in NCAA Division III men's college basketball history to surpass the 800-win mark when he did so in 2018. Hixon coached the Mammoths to two NCAA Division III national championships (2007, '13), seven Final Four appearances (2004, '06-08, '13-14, '16) and 20 Division III national tournaments. Henrik Rödl is the former German National Team head coach that culminated in the team reaching the quarterfinals at the Tokyo Olympics. He also competed for Germany as a player in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Rodl has won championships in Germany as a player and a coach and is a past German League MVP alongside others like Dirk Nowitzki and Detlef Schrempf. He played college basketball in the US for coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina where he won a national championship. Rodl has been head coach of ALBA Berlin, TBB Trier, Türk Telekom, and now Al Ittihad Alexandria. Rödl started his coaching career in the youth ranks of ALBA Berlin before being named ALBA head coach in January 2005. He was released in June 2007, but stayed on with the club serving as director of the youth program and coach of the development squad. In 2010, he became the head coach of TBB Trier. Ferris State head coach Andy Bronkema joins the Basketball Podcast to share insights on running a program with a simple identity: rebound, run and pass.
Andy Bronkema, who took over prior to the 2013-14 season, led the Bulldogs to four-straight GLIAC Tournament Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances from 2015-18. The Bulldogs posted their sixth-straight 20-win campaign last year in 2019-20 while recapturing the GLIAC Championship and earning yet another NCAA Division II National Tournament berth.
In 2017-18, he led FSU to one of the most historic seasons in Division II basketball history as Ferris State claimed the school's first National Championship with a memorable 38-1 record, tying the all-time mark for most wins in D2 history. For his efforts, Andy Bronkema was a consensus choice as the National Coach of the Year and led the Bulldogs to a second-straight GLIAC regular-season crown and the school's fourth tourney title in a row.
In 2016-17, Ferris State posted a then-school all-time best 28-5 overall record under Andy Bronkema's direction while capturing both the GLIAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. FSU advanced to the D2 Midwest Regional Semifinals and led the country in blocked shots for the second-straight year.
The Bulldog men's basketball squad closed a memorable 2015-16 campaign with a 24-10 overall record. FSU also reached the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen while finishing with its first back-to-back 20-win campaigns since the late 1980s. The Bulldogs made their first appearance in the NCAA Tourney under his direction in 2014-15 after claiming the league tournament title.

After his 2009 retirement from a very successful professional career, Dejan Milojević became a head coach for Mega Basket of the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA). There, he coached future NBA All-Star and NBA MVP Nikola Jokić. Milojevic had a major impact on Jokic’s basketball upbringing and is one of Jokic’s role models. Some of the reads and passes Jokic makes today were originally taught to him by Milojevic, a Serbian legend himself and three-time Adriatic League MVP who helped Yugoslavia win gold at EuroBasket 2001
In 2021, he won Montenegrin League and Montenegrin Cup titles with Budućnost.
In addition to club coaching, Milojević had a coaching stint with the Serbian national team from December 2019 until September 2021, assisting head coach Igor Kokoškov.
Golden State Dejan Milojević was tasked with working with squad members playing closer to the basket that the team deploys in stretch four, power forward, forward-center, and center positions. For Milojević, that meant primarily focusing on Golden State's recently-drafted young center James Wiseman as well as their established squad players Draymond Green and Kevon Looney. Milojević won the NBA championship in 2022 making him the second Serbian assistant coach (after Igor Kokoškov) to win an NBA ring.

From 2010 until 2015, he served as an assistant coach for the Artland Dragons, and afterward for the Riesen Ludwigsburg of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). On August 23, 2017, Schiller was named the head coach of the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA G League. Schiller has also been an assistant coach for the German national team since 2015, where he worked with Jazz assistant coach Alex Jensen.
Schiller was named the NBA G League Coach of the Year for the 2019–20 season after leading the Stars to a 30–12 record.

Josh King led Ludwigsburg to the playoffs in each of his three seasons as an assistant coach. In his first season as head coach, he led the team to a record of 22-12 overall and 12-6 in conference play in 2022-23 Josh King began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Vassar College, where he spent two seasons. He then moved on to become an assistant coach at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for two seasons before joining the staff at the University of South Florida for three seasons. King switched to professional basketball and became John Patrick 's assistant coach at the German Bundesliga club MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in 2018 . He contributed to the team becoming German runners-up in 2020 and finishing the Bundesliga season 2020-21 in first place in the main round. Ahead of the 2021-22 season, King took up the post of head coach at Czech Premier League side USK Prague. With Prague he reached the quarterfinals of the Czech Championship in 2022. Buford was hired as the head coach of the Sydney Kings of the NBL in June 2021. In May 2022 the Kings won the 2021-22 Australian NBL Championship. He played college basketball at Kansas, where he was a part of their 2008 NCAA Tournament-winning team. Buford has also been the head coach of the Wisconsin Herd of the NBA G League.
Buford began his basketball career as a regional scout with the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA before being promoted to video intern. He went on to be the coordinator of player development for the Chicago Bulls from 2015 to 2017 before becoming an assistant for the Erie Bayhawks, the G League affiliate of the Hawks in 2017. Darris Nichols enters his second season as the Radford head basketball coach in 2023-24. The native son of Radford, Va. was named the eighth head coach in program history on April 21, 2021. Nichols' plan to return the Highlanders to their winning ways came to fruition in just his second season at the helm, leading the program to a 21-15 overall record, including a 12-6 mark in Big South play, during the 2022-23 campaign. Radford came one point away from playing in the conference championship, but still earned a bid to the College Basketball Invitational. With wins over Tarleton State and San Jose State in the CBI, the Highlanders won multiple postseason contests in the same season for the first time in program history. Nichols began his coaching career at his alma mater West Virginia as a graduate assistant in 2010. He was named an assistant at Northern Kentucky in 2011 and spent two seasons with the team before spending a season each with Wofford and Louisiana Tech. He joined the coaching staff at Florida in 2015 as an assistant on former Louisiana Tech head coach Mike White’s staff. Nichols was named the head coach at Radford in April 2021. In year two, Radford went 21-15, finishing tied for second in the Big South Conference and advanced to post-season play. Thibault-DuDonis was named the Maggie Dixon Coach of the Year, All-Met Coach of the year, the ECAC Coach of the Year, the College Insider Kay Yow Coach of the Year, and the MAAC Coach of the Year to celebrate Fairfield's historic season. The Stags also achieved the program's first-ever national ranking as they slotted No. 25 in the AP Top-25 poll and also received votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll. They finished the season ranked fourth in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll. The Stags capped off their historic season with the MAAC Tournament and Regular Season Championship while punching their ticket to the 2024 NCAA Tournament. In her first season with the Stags, she led the team to a top-5 finish in the conference, receiving a bye into the MAAC Championship Quarterfinals with an 11-9 conference mark. Carly most recently served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Minnesota. Before joining Minnesota, Carly was an assistant coach at Mississippi State and Eastern Michigan. Greg Tonagel has been the head coach since 2005 and has 500 wins in fewer games, and younger than, any coach in college basketball history. Under his leadership, the team has won three NAIA Div. II National Championships in 2014, 2016, and 2018, and has been the No. 1-ranked team in NAIA Division II for four seasons. Tonagel has also coached 25 NAIA Div. II All-Americans and has won 12 Crossroads League Regular Season Championships and 5 Crossroads League Tournament Championships. He has coached two NAIA National Players of the Year, Tonagel has the most wins (420), the highest winning percentage (.795), the most NAIA National Tournament Victories (32), the most National Tournament appearances (13), the most Crossroads League Regular Season Championships (11), and the most Crossroads League Tournament Championships (5) in the program’s history. He has been named NABC/NAIA Division II National Coach of the Year three times. Tonagel is a graduate of Valparaiso University where he played basketball and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Secondary Education, and was a director of basketball operations. Guest: Jim Crutchfield, Nova Southeastern Head Coach The 2022-23 was a storybook from start to finish for the Sharks and Crutchfield, as Nova Southeastern became the sixth team in NCAA Division II history to finish as undefeated national champions. Crutchfield's Sharks were dominant throughout the season, leading the nation in points-per-game (102.5) and scoring margin (+25.7). Crutchfield was honored as the Sunshine State Conference, Clarance Gaines, and NABC Coach of the Year. Crutchfield’s combined record at Nova Southeastern and West Liberty is an amazing 495-82 (.858), which remains the highest career winning percentage in college basketball history among all NCAA coaches, including the likes of Kentucky’s Adolph Rupp (3rd all-time), UCLA’s John Wooden (7th) and Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski (21st) who had spent at least 10 seasons as an NCAA head coach. Crutchfield is known for his pressing, uptempo style of play. During his tenure, he has led the Sharks to a record of 100-21, two NCAA Elite Eight appearances, two NCAA Regional Championships, a Sunshine State Conference regular season title, and an SSC Conference Tournament Championship. Prior to his arrival at NSU, Crutchfield spent 13 seasons as the head coach at West Liberty University in Wheeling, West Virginia. During his time at West Liberty, Crutchfield led the Hilltoppers to a 359-61 record, which is the highest career-winning percentage in college basketball history among all NCAA coaches who have spent at least 10 seasons as an NCAA head coach. He also led the Hilltoppers to five NCAA Tournament appearances, including a national championship game appearance in 2015. Ted Hotaling led the Chargers to back-to-back appearances in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship game, a pair of nine total appearances in the conference tournament under his tutelage. In addition, Hotaling’s teams have earned four bids to the NCAA Division II National Tournament, the most recent coming in 2022.

Dave Leitao is an accomplished American professional basketball coach, currently holding the position of head coach for the City Reapers in Overtime Elite (OTE). With a coaching journey spanning various institutions, including DePaul University, the University of Virginia, and his alma mater, Northeastern University, Leitao has left an indelible mark on the basketball world. Leitao began his coaching journey as an assistant under Jim Calhoun at Northeastern University in 1984, later joining Calhoun at the University of Connecticut. After a stint as the head coach at Northeastern University, Leitao returned to Calhoun’s staff during the Huskies’ national championship-winning season in 1999. In 2002, Leitao assumed the head coaching position at DePaul University, leading the Blue Demons to postseason appearances, including the NIT in 2003 and 2005, as well as the NCAA tournament in 2004. His tenure saw an overall record of 58–34. Taking over as head coach at the University of Virginia, Leitao made history as the first person of African descent to coach any varsity sport in Virginia Cavaliers history. Notably, he was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Coach of the Year by the Associated Press in the 2006–07 season. Continuing his coaching journey in the innovative Overtime Elite league, Leitao has achieved success, winning the OTE Finals in the league’s first two seasons. He continues to lead the City Reapers influencing young players like last year’s team members Amen and Ausar Thompson, showcasing his dedication to player development. Krikorian led Christopher Newport to remarkable success, including its first three Final Four appearances and first National Championship in the 2022-2023 season. Krikorian has led the Captains to nine NCAA Tournaments in 12 seasons, including the last seven tournaments. CNU is the only school in the nation to win at least one game in each of the last seven NCAA tourneys, and Krikorian now has a career mark in tournament games of 23-7. His overall record at CNU is 290-65 (.817) through his first dozen years at the helm. He was named the National Coach of the Year by the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) following his national title in 2023. Krikorian’s teams at CNU have won at least 18 games per season since he took over, and have advanced to the conference championship game every year for the last nine seasons in the Capital and Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference. The National Championship team of 2022-2023 tied the school mark for victories with 30, finishing 30-3, and ending the year on a 15-game winning streak. Krikorian’s coaching resume now includes six seasons as an NCAA Division I assistant and 16 as a Division III head coach. His overall head coaching record is 355-107. John Beckett initially joined the Denver Nuggets franchise during the 2016-17 season as the Director of Player Development. That is just a start to the list of accolades that former Arizona Wildcats All-American Jason Terry can boast. 19-year NBA veteran brings a wealth of experience and basketball knowledge with him to the Denver Nuggets G League affiliate the Grand Rapids Gold. After wrapping up his prolific playing career in 2018, Terry spent the 2019-20 season as the Assistant General Manager for the G League’s Texas Legends and the 2020-21 season as an assistant coach with his alma mater Arizona Wildcats. The Atlanta Hawks selected Terry with the 10th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft and he earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors after averaging 19.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.3 steal in his first season in the league. After playing with the Hawks from 1999-2004, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, where he played from 2004-2012. With the Mavericks, he was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2009 and won an NBA Championship in 2011. He would go on to play with the Boston Celtics (2012-13), Brooklyn Nets (2013-14), Houston Rockets (2014-16), and the Milwaukee Bucks (2016-18) to close out his professional playing career. Over the final 14 years of his career, he helped lead his team to the playoffs in 13 seasons. The sharpshooter currently sits in seventh place on the NBA's career 3-point field goals made list with 2,282. Terry finished his career playing in 1,410 career NBA games, a total that ranks ninth in NBA history. The sharp-shooting NBA Champion owns career averages of 13.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

Saint's professional coaching journey started in 2014 when he served as the video coordinator for the Detroit Pistons. Saint attended Belmont University, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in business development. During his time at Belmont, he also served as a student assistant coach with the men’s basketball team from 2009 to 2011. His experience at Belmont laid a strong foundation for his coaching career, combining academic achievement with practical coaching experience. Saint later pursued a Master’s degree in effective teaching and leadership at Butler University. While at Butler, he worked as a graduate assistant coach, further honing his coaching skills and expanding his understanding of leadership in sports. After retiring from playing, Domercant transitioned to coaching. He was hired as an assistant coach for the Maine Red Claws in 2017, and then moved to the Windy City Bulls as an assistant coach in 2018. He was promoted to player development coordinator for the Windy City in 2020. He also held the role of Player Development Coordinator with the Chicago Bulls during the 2020-21 NBA season and also served as an Assistant Coach during the Bulls' NBA Summer League. Domercant joined the coaching ranks after a lengthy playing career overseas, including stints in Turkey, Greece, Russia and Italy, before returning to the United States to play a season with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League. As a player, Domercant found success nearly everywhere he went, winning a combined nine tournament and league championships during his career. Prior to his professional career, Domercant was named the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Player of the Year in 2002 and was a three-time First Team All-OVC honoree. He played college basketball for Eastern Illinois, and was an All-EuroLeague Second Team selection. Domercant has had a lengthy playing career overseas, including stints in Turkey, Greece, Russia, and Italy. He played for Pınar Karşıyaka, Efes Pilsen, Olympiacos Piraeus, Dynamo Moscow, Montepaschi Siena, Spartak Saint Petersburg, UNICS Kazan, Galatasaray Liv Hospital, and Idaho Stampede. Steve DeMeo was named head men's basketball for Northwest Florida State College on April 4, 2022, making it his second stint with the Raiders after a brilliant tenure from 2013-19. DeMeo most recently served as assistant coach for East Carolina University during the 2021-22 season and was at St. John's University in the same role from 2019-21 prior to his time at ECU. Possessing three decades of experience across all levels of the college game, DeMeo's previous time leading the Raiders was remarkable. Coach DeMeo took NWFSC to a national title and was named the Spalding NJCAA National Coach of the Year in 2015. Under DeMeo's direction, Northwest Florida State turned in a six-year record of 198-35 (.850), earned an additional berth in the 2017 NJCAA Final Four and advanced to the Elite Eight in 2016, 2018 and 2019. Under his leadership, the Raiders captured the Panhandle Conference Championship five-straight years (2015-19) and earned four Florida College System Activities Association State Tournament Championships in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019. Numerous players that he recruited, coached and developed have been drafted by National Basketball Association teams including Charles Jenkins (Golden State Warriors), Ryan Gomes and MarShon Brooks (Boston), Herbert Hill (Utah) and Marcus Douthit (Los Angeles). In 2019, Oregon-signee and future 2021 NBA First Round Draft pick Chris Duarte was selected as the NJCAA Division I Player of the Year, the first player to earn that honor under DeMeo. A veteran coach with a track record of success, DeMeo also held lead roles at Division II Newberry College, as well as Monroe College and Bronx Community College. DeMeo has accumulated a 294-105 (.737) overall record as a head coach. Prior to taking over at Northwest Florida State, DeMeo spent 17 years as an assistant at the Division I level, enjoying successful stints at Iona, Providence, UCF and Hofstra. Dylan Murphy is the head coach of the Osceola Magic, the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic. Dylan Murphy has been associated with the Orlando Magic for the past five seasons. His journey began as a basketball operations analyst from 2018 to 2020, where he provided valuable analytics support to the coaching staff. Subsequently, he was promoted to assistant coach in 2020 and has continued in that role for the last three seasons. Prior to joining the Magic, Murphy served as an NBA G League scout for the Atlanta Hawks during the 2016-17 season. His responsibilities included identifying potential call-up candidates for the Hawks’ NBA roster. From 2013 to 2016, Murphy worked as an assistant coach for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the NBA G League team for the Indiana Pacers. In the 2013-14 season, the Mad Ants clinched the G League championship with an impressive regular-season record of 34-16 and a perfect 6-0 playoff run. They followed it up with another trip to the G League Finals in the 2014-15 season. Murphy also served as a graduate assistant with the men’s basketball team at Ball State University in 2018. One of Murphy's most notable contributions to the coaching community is the creation of the Basketball Dictionary. St. Thomas Aquinas head coach Tobin Anderson joins the Basketball Podcast to share insights on teaching a pressing defensive system. Tobin Anderson is the head coach of the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans. During his tenure, he has averaged over 23 wins a season, has a .752 winning percentage and has led his team to six consecutive NCAA DII Tournament appearances. He has also been voted ECC Coach of the Year twice. Coach Anderson has over 16 years of coaching at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels. Anderson joined the Spartan staff in 2013, as the 7th head coach in the program's history, bringing over 16 years of coaching experience at Division I, II, and III levels. Anderson comes to STAC after a two-year stint as an assistant coach for Division I Siena College. He had an immediate impact on the Saints as he led them to one of the most remarkable seasons in school history. With only a 6-man player rotation, Siena greatly overachieved with an 11-4 home record and a run to the MAAC Tournament semifinals. Before his time at Siena, Tobin Anderson was an established head coach at the Division III level at Hamilton College and Clarkson University. While at Hamilton, he posted a 118-63 record over a seven-year span, with a .652 winning percentage. The Continentals reached the league tournament five out of his seven years, including a tournament championship and a trip to the NCAA DIII tournament. Anderson guided his team to the second round of the NCAA's in 2006 as well as three regular-season titles. Prior to arriving at Hamilton, Tobin Anderson earned his first head coaching position at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. Anderson's first team finished the 1999-2000 season with a 14-12 record, its first .500 season in 25 years, earning the program's first-ever postseason bid. In his five years with the Golden Knights, he broke the school record for wins, with a 19-10 season in 2001-02. The team advanced to the ECAC regional championship game and was the third-most improved Division III men's basketball team from the previous season. Anderson spent three years as an assistant coach; two years at Le Moyne College, from 1997-1999. He also started his college coaching career as an assistant at Clarkson in 1996, where he would later return.

Tennessee head coach Kellie Harper joins the Basketball Podcast to share insights on defensive concepts to build their defense.
One of only two coaches to guide four different programs to the NCAA Tournament, the 1999 UT graduate and three-time national champion point guard joined Jim Foster in that select company in 2020-21. She has done so while reshaping programs at Western Carolina, NC State, Missouri State, and now Tennessee. Foster accomplished that feat during stops at St. Joseph’s, Vanderbilt, Ohio State, and Chattanooga during a career lasting from 1978 to 2018.
In 18 complete years as a Division I head coach, Harper has led her teams to a 348-235 record and 14 postseason appearances (7 NCAA/7 WNIT) through the 2021-22 campaign. She has piloted her squads to 14 top-three league finishes and four conference tourney titles along the way, and in 2021-22 she guided Tennessee to the NCAA Sweet 16, equaling her run with Missouri State in 2018-19 before she was hired by her alma mater.

Jared Grasso enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Bryant University men's basketball program in 2021-22.
Grasso, the 2021 USBWA District I Coach of the Year, has turned the Bryant men's basketball program around in three short years on the sidelines. Bryant is 40-44 in three seasons under Grasso, after going 23-71 in the three years prior to his arrival. Grasso has helped the Bulldogs grow into one of the region's top mid-major programs and guided the Black and Gold into the mid-major top 25 in 2021 for the first time in eight years.
The 2020-21 season will go down as one of the best in program history for the Bulldogs as they went 15-7 overall, advanced to and hosted the Northeast Conference Championship for the first time in program history, and earned a postseason berth for the second time in DI program history.
Grasso was tabbed to lead the Bryant program after most recently working for the last eight seasons at Iona, where he helped the Gaels to unparalleled success both at Iona and in the MAAC. Prior to Iona, Grasso spent four seasons on the staff at Fordham, including the majority of the final year as interim head coach. He also served as an assistant coach at his alma mater Quinnipiac.

In this week's coaching conversation, player development basketball coach Noah LaRoche joins the Basketball Podcast to share insights into researching and tinkering with basketball. Noah LaRoche is the owner of integrity hoops and as a player development consultant and coach he helps college players prepare for the draft he works with pros like Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Harrison Barnes, Paul George, Victor Oladipo, and Diana Taurasi to name a few. After his playing career at Saint Joseph’s of Maine playing for Rob Sanicola, LaRoche linked to Mike Procopio at Attack Athletics in Chicago, and for two summers he worked under world-renowned trainer Tim Grover, whose elite client list includes Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Charles Barkley, and other NBA stars. This experience earned LaRoche a job at Tilton Academy in New Hampshire, followed by a stint with a successful Chinese Basketball Association team. The next year, he made it to the NBA, working with the coaching staff of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Today, Noah LaRoche splits his time between the East and West Coasts. As a player development consultant for the Wasserman Media Group, an agency that represents over 50 WNBA and NBA players, he flies each spring to Los Angeles, where he helps college players prepare for the draft. In the summer, he works with pros. And in the fall and winter, it’s back to Portsmouth and Integrity Hoops, where he helps players develop skills, character, and “basketball IQ.” The mission of Integrity Hoops is to positively transform lives through basketball.

He has been named the Associated Press, Naismith, USBWA and Henry Iba National Coach of the Year, twice was both the ACC and USBWA District Coach of the Year and was the 2013 NABC District Coach of the Year.
Larrañaga has posted three 25-win seasons at UM – the only Miami coach to do so – and five in his career. He also has recorded six 20-win campaigns at Miami and 12 in his career. In conference action, the Canes have won nine or more league games in six of nine seasons, while prior to Larrañaga’s arrival, Miami had never won more than eight ACC games in a season. Popeye Jones was selected by the Houston Rockets in the second round (41st overall) of the 1992 NBA draft, but his rights were traded to the Dallas Mavericks. After playing professionally in Europe for a season, he played for the Mavericks for three seasons until being traded to the Toronto Raptors. Jones also played with the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors.
After spending 11 seasons in the NBA as a player, he pursued his career as a basketball coach. He started as a player development coach for the Dallas Mavericks. After three seasons (2007-10) as a player development coach, Jones got a real job as a coach with Brooklyn Nets.
On August 14, 2013, he was hired as an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers. Jones worked with All-Stars like Roy Hibbert and Paul George and reached the Eastern Conference Finals his first two years with the team. On November 9, 2020, the Philadelphia 76ers hired Jones as an assistant coach under Doc Rivers. On August 23, 2021, the Denver Nuggets announced that they had hired Jones as assistant coach.

Lanier has more than 30 years as a collegiate coach including as an associate head coach or assistant coach at Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Virginia, Rutgers, St. Bonaventure, and seven seasons as a head coach at Siena and Georgia State. He has been a part of teams that have made 12 NCAA Tournaments and earned 19 total postseason bids. Those teams also have five conference titles, three regular season championships and two tournament crowns, plus five more trips to a league tournament final.
In his three seasons prior to SMU at Georgia State, the team went 53-30, winning the Sun Belt Tournament in 2022 and advancing to the NCAA Tournament and the program’s first win over an ACC opponent.

Mike Bradbury enters his ninth season as head coach for The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team. In his previous eight seasons at the helm, Bradbury has guided the Lobos to a 162-89 (.645) and 89-51 (.636) in conference and became just the second coach in UNM history to win 100 games. Overall as a head coach he has won over 340 games. Five times in his tenure (2017-18, 2018-19, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24) the Lobos eclipsed the 20-win mark, with the Lobos tying the program record for most wins in a single season with 26 in 2021-22. Further, the 25 wins in 2017-18 were tied for the second-most wins in program history. The consecutive 20-plus win seasons under Bradbury in 2017-18 and 2018-19 were the first for the program since the 2007-08 – 2008-09 seasons From 2007 to 2010, Bradbury led Morehead State to a 50–44 record over the course of three seasons, including a 22–11 record and a bid to the WBI in his final season as head coach. The 22-win mark set the school's NCAA-era record for victories in a season, and the 14–4 conference mark in the same year set the school's single season conference wins record and was also the highest conference winning percentage in a season in school history At Wright State from 2010 to 2016, Bradbury had five seasons with 20 or more wins and led the school to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014, in addition to WBI appearances in 2011 and 2012 and WNIT appearances in 2015 and 2016.
