Hello! This is William A. Wellman, author and creator of the show 'Hello From The Hallowoods', a queer horror story about the connected lives of a diverse cast of survivors dealing with personal (and supernatural) problems in the forest at the end of the world.

This is the first episode of Season 2, called ‘Rescues’. After we spent our first season building up to a big finale where all of our characters and plotlines came together, the summer finds them beginning new adventures.

Our core cast of a nonbinary frankenstein, a trans ghost, a genderfluid witch, and a buzzcut lesbian apocalypse survivor try to mount a rescue, and get more than they bargained for.

This show is a long-running piece of fiction with dozens of different character perspectives that form one bigger story, and although it’s been a challenge to write every week for the last two years, I get so much joy out of seeing our queer listeners find themselves in this story.

This is Elle Elsea, writer, narrator and producer of Harper Rose and the Women on the Wall. For this story I tried to picture what a world after global warming would look like, and the research I did is woven into the Gospels of Gara, which are meant to stop global warming from happening a second time. I don’t believe humans would go entirely extinct, and so in this story, which is set a thousand years in the future, humans are still around. But they are living in a society that, while it’s very similar to ours, still has marked differences, including laws that everyone has to follow that come from the gospel. Our protagonist is a young woman who worked as a deputy in a small outpost and was chosen to take over as Sheriff when the old sheriff died. This is episode one, when she finds out that she was assigned to the most famous sheriff in the entire united cities of America.

This is Jackie Jorgenson, the creator and lead actor of Tales From The Aether which is an original fairy tale anthology audio drama. The Chase is the third and final episode of season one which follows a migrant witch who attempts to cure recently colonized New England towns of a blight which causes hallucinations and is hypothesized to be the real-life cause of the Salem witch trials. 

Before this episode begins, our main character, Kyna, is celebrated for her work and curing their crops of this blight, however, townspeople notice a mysterious green light from her room at the inn. It's only once Kyna's scorned suitor, an influential and manipulative man, is rejected that he notices this green light and her with her true love, the innkeeper, Daisy. With this knowledge he is ready to expose her as a witch and turn the town against her.

Hi. My name is Gina Zdanowicz, sound designer of Cryptids. Cryptids is a sci-fi mystery podcast that follows Eve and Trevor in the search of truth and purpose in death. Soon, they find The Ones in Charge have other plans for them. In the episode we're showcasing is the first in which we introduce our main character as well as The Ones in Charge. They're the mysterious cosmic beings watching over Eve and Trevor. We wanted the sounds of electricity to be omnipresent in the sound design. It was important for us to create a constant energy and make it feel as if the characters were never in a quiet place alone. I'd like to highlight some design choices in creating the constant energy. I used the sound sources from taking a cello bow to cactus. And that created the energy in the transitions. Then these sources ran through an effects processing chain that consisted of auto-panning, tremolo, grain, pitch, and distortion. And the result was this radiowave-type effect used to transport the listener from one scene to the next. Additionally, sound recordings from everyday objects - such as heating and cooling systems, refrigerators, coffee makers - they were spatially positioned in the mix. And these elements represented the - an object from the space in a particular scene or setting. And that drove home the feeling of the character not being alone in that space. Hello! This is Eryn and I’m one of the three co-creators of Listening Pond: Stories for Kids and their Adults. My cousin Asa and I take turns writing and narrating the stories, and my brother Eric composes an original soundtrack for each story. Asa also creates an illustration for each piece, which we feature on our social media accounts. While our primary goal is to entertain kids and adults of all ages, we also like the idea of putting something positive into the world, so many of our stories address challenges kids face every day – confronting fear, embracing and celebrating difference, and managing jealousy to name a few. The show, to me, is a tribute to the caretakers among us and within us, and it’s about how to transcend solitude and loss with a jolt of whimsy, faith, and rock and roll. Season one followed Deirdre Gardner’s incredible discovery of a lost cassette tape from 1992 in a dusty attic, and her quest to wake up her decrepit hometown of Rosemary Hills Golf Course Community to all that’s been forgotten. We learn that Deirdre’s tenacity to resurrect the songs of the mysterious former resident Wim Faros is fueled by her grief over her mother’s advancing dementia. When the cassette tape gets destroyed completely by a faulty boombox, a motley crew of neighbors try to help Deirdre re-create the music on the Attic Tape, entirely from memory. Before they know it, Deirdre and her mother are fronting a wildly avant-garde, multi-generational band, whose songs accidentally go viral. In Season 2, things have taken a turn for the worse–the town of Rosemary Hills is in foreclosure and Deirdre is now struggling to care for her mother in a nursing home. But as the golf course festers in its 11th hour, mysterious messages begin to appear, insisting that "Wim Faros Lives." As things fall apart around her, Deirdre must reckon with the fact that her public plea to get people to remember Wim Faros has inadvertently created a cult sensation.  This is season 2 episode 4, entitled “Old Folx.” We are together in the rec room of Rosemary Hills Nursing Home, where a nurse is leading a game of Bingo. Next up is the Patina’s scout and sharpshooter, Cassidy, an optimist with a chronic case of wanderlust, who feels responsible for the recent loss of a teammate. Then we meet Zee-o, a synthetic humanoid of unknown origin, who is trying to navigate their way through the emotions and interpersonal conflicts that fill the daily lives of humans. Lastly, we meet Emma, a mechanically inclined young woman living on her family's farm, who dreams of becoming a professional mechanic in spite of her family’s dismissal and misgivings. We now reenter our story in this episode, 6 months later.

What really drew me to the role, however, was the themes of impostor syndrome, personal and social anxiety, depression and trauma. A story of how fairies get their wings.

This is an audio series featuring actors from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Genshin Impact, and more. At the time of submission, 13 episodes of our 30 episode season are available on podcasting platforms.

The tale takes place in Al’Idria, a fairy world consisting of six Realms surrounding the Realm Tree; a tree that stretches up to the sky. At the age of sixteen, fairies ascend through the trunk to earn their wings. Those who fail to reach the canopy remain wingless for life. For some, the stakes could not be higher.

Our story follows the scrappy and determined Night Fairy Talia Wick, the only fairy in history that was born without magic in her body. On her journey up through the Realm Tree to earn her wings and prove herself as a fairy without powers, Talia may discover that there’s magic in the world beyond what fairies are born with.

This is Episode 2: Thinning the Herd.

Talia and her best friend Daisy begin their first trial: one-on-one battles to determine which fairies are worthy of climbing the Realm Tree at all, and start to scope out the competition during these duels.

Our audio show uses both dialogue and narration to bring this tale to life, including narrated and intense combat scenes with sound effects and original music. We believe this is a good episode to showcase that style.

Hey everybody! I am Diana Dely, the Dungeon Mistress, and Executive Producer, of Multiclass Theater. We are so honored to be nominated for the Audio Verse Awards. We are a brand new, actual play, Dungeons and Dragons podcast. We are about midway through our second season now. We started in October of last year and have been going strong ever since.

The show itself is an improvised adventure which follows a noble knight, a rebellious teenage girl, and a snarky six foot tall cat as they adventure around a homebrewed world and find adventure and hopefully learn a few things along the way. 

The episode we have for you today is Season 2 Episode 4, or as we call it Season 2 Chapter 4:  "What's in a Name?"  This episode was released on July 31 of this year.  It has become a fan favorite. I think it illustrates our humor, our tone, and how we like to tell stories. It is actually the climax of a three-part adventure through a tower and you don't really need context other than to know the characters are exploring the tower of a dead wizard and were sent there to retrieve something from the top of it. It doesn't offer any spoilers for the overall story arc. It is really a stand-alone three part series.

Hello hello hello! My name is Abigail Eliza, and I am the showrunner for Back Again, Back Again, a narrative portal fantasy about a girl named Ilyaas, who, on the night of her seventeenth birthday, got portal-magicked away to a world called Rhysea – where she was told she was supposedly part of a prophecy to save the country. After spending six years away and then dying in Rhysea, Ilyaas wakes up back in this world only to find that next to no time had passed. The podcast picks up at the traditional end of all portal fantasy stories -- where the hero has been spat back out into the real world. Back Again, Back Again, revolves around Ilyaas learning to readjust to life in the real world while still remembering everything she's seen.
This is episode 24, “Everything I Know,” one of the “remembering” rather than “adjusting” episodes of the show. In it, one of the characters – Rhia, who is Ilyaas’s best friend and teacher in this other world called Rhysea – tells her the bits of history that the Kings didn’t want Ilyaas to know. In Rhysea, language and storytelling have become political weapons – ways to maintain power and control narratives – and so this sort of marks the beginning of the end of season one. This story is inspired by a lot of the Oh Hello’s music, which tracks easily in this episode, and is – uh – fairly representative of the whole. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen!
