Italy now hosts the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals in Turin and the Next Gen ATP finals in Milan and the country’s players are clearly inspired making up 8 of the world’s top 100 men as things stand and two of the Top 10, world number 7 Matteo Berrettini and number 10 Jannik Sinner, both present this year in Turin. Seb Lauzier presents the podcast from Rio, Brazil this week in the build up to the second ATP 500 of the year and the first on clay where Juan Martin Del Potro had been given a wild card and was due to play had all gone well. Unfortunately that hasn’t happened and to get the South American take on the former US Open champion, we hear from Brazilian sports journalist Alex Cossenza.

This conversation was recorded before the Nitto ATP finals in Turiin, so didn't touch on Stefanos' recent elbow injury, but did speak about his run at Roland Garros, the Olympics and his ambitions going forward.

As he lays down the racquets for the final time at the Barcelona Open, former World Number 5 Tommy Robredo speaks to Ursin Caderas about his career and his future hopes.

Talking to Barry Cowan, Craig O'Shannessy, wildly regarded as a world leader in teaching and analyzing tennis strategy, speaks about working with Novak Djokovic, coaching Australian Alexei Popyrin, how young Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz will be the next big thing in tennis and the latest trends in the game and what the data is showing.

Welcome to another podcast and this week, although the tennis news out of the UK has been up and down, we are sticking with the Brits. There’s been good news for Andy Murray, the former world number one has scored a morale boosting win against old rival Rafael Nadal at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi. Great also to see Nadal back in action. We’ll hear from Andy later in the programme and we also hear from doubles player Neal Skupski, but we start this time with Andy’s brother, Jamie Murray who’s had a frustrating week. It is no mean feat putting on any tennis event and as Tournament Director and player he would have been looking forward to the Battle of the Brits more than anyone until it was postponed on Friday, the latest sporting victim of Covid 19. The tournament will be pushed back to 2022, which, on the plus side, gives him even more time to pick up ideas and tips from other events, which is exactly what he was doing when he spoke with Barry Cowan at the recent Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.

FELICIANO LOPEZ ON BARCELONA TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR DAVID FERRER - 'I told him many times he should still be playing because you see him, he’s in great shape and we hit a couple of times this year and he was as tough as he was, nothing has changed from his last match’.

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME ON WORKING WITH UNLE TONI - ‘We’ve been together for more than a year now and he’s realistic. You know I’m not Rafa Nadal, we have different qualities, it’s tough to replicate what Rafael did in his career on clay. I’m more of a hard court player and I also play well on grass, so of course it’s different strengths, so he’s adapted his input and he’s adapted to the player he’s working with and he’s not approaching it like he wants me to play like his nephew’.

TOMMY ROBREDO ON RETIRING AT THE BARCELONA OPEN - ‘I’m going to turn 40 in the next weeks and I’ve spent many years on tour and with the pandemic I was not playing that much. I also have a family now and I have a daughter and I really want to stay home. I always said that I am going to quit that day I have a priority that is better then tennis and being at home with my wife and daughter it’s much better than travelling now’.
