24 Jul 20202. Integrating and Transforming 40+ Businesses to a Top Leading Global Company : Interview with Agility GIL ex CEO Essa Al Saleh00:53:44

In this episode, we sat with Mr. Essa Al Saleh, CEO Agitero and ex CEO Agility Global Integrated Logistics (GIL) and we talked about his journey leading Agility GIL from 2007 to start 2020. He led the expansion of the company through 40+ acquisitions then led their integration and transformation to become one leading organization with great culture focused on continuous year over year improvement and people.

One of the leaders I truly admire, I had the privilege working under Essa's GIL leadership. I remember one day I approached him with a challenge I had during his tenure as GIL CEO. He sat and listened, listened and listened, took notes and promised that he will follow up and help. But honestly the moment I walked out of that door I felt it doesn’t matter if he would follow up or not, what really mattered to me was that he truly listened and was fully present and through this, I felt his support.

In this interview with him though, we focused on organizational leadership and what it really takes to succeed leading a large global organization. In his very humble and sincere way, Essa shares reflections on his journey how he managed to lead such big organization at a young age, the challenges along the way and what it took to get GIL to the company he stepped down from its leadership earlier this year.
