World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10 every year. This year’s official theme, “It is Time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace,” highlights the importance of fostering supportive work environments. There have been efforts to promote positive mental health at the workplace such as offering access to counselling, mental health days, and employee wellness schemes to support overall wellbeing. As widely expected, the US Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 25 basis points to further fight inflation, bringing an end to a brief pause to rate hikes last month.

The change brings borrowing costs to a 22-year high range of 5.25 percent to 5.5 percent. 

While this hike was largely expected, markets had been hoping this would be the last hike for the year.
