Once again we join Adam Sandler with Jennifer Aniston in a film that allows them to travel. This time they bring along a cast of characters including wayward fiances, misunderstood sons, woke maharajas, glamorous actresses, Namibian colonels, former Russian spies, and a race car driver as this latest excursion into the ASCU takes us to Europe to solve the titular murder mystery and along the way also allows us to solve the ever expanding mysteries of a shared cinematic universe's existence.

Villains are the theme as we kick off Season Three of The Adam Sandler Cinematic Universe Podcast, not necessarily films where Adam portrays a villain, but more those films that have a certain infamy in the greater realm of popular culture, and there is no greater place to start such an exploration than "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry."

Our latest excursion into the Adam Sandler Cinematic  Universe is the James L. Brooks written and directed film Spanglish, a film marketed as an Adam Sandler film despite it not being his story or featuring him as the main character.

For our third film in our Villains series we take a look at a film who's content and box office earnings would certainly classify it as such, but when your main character is so kind, accepting, and charismatic it becomes difficult to actually view it that way. That's right we are exploring the depths of the Andy Samberg / Adam Sandler two hander from 2012: That's My Boy.

Will our research find that it is more than deserving of the title of a villain or could it possibly unearth a story of redemption in this film about fathers and sons and even more importantly will it find a place in our star charts of a shared Adam Sandler Cinematic Universe?

Our third season theme of villains continues with the collaboration between long time friends Judd Apatow and Adam Sandler: Funny People, a film that ends up being a lot more prophetic than people may have given it credit for when it first released in 2009.

With a zero critic's rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it is no mystery how Adam Sandler's inaugural collaboration with Netflix wound up as the fifth entry in the third season of the ASCU with its theme of villains.

We continue season four, our season for the fans, with an examination of a film that neither of your co-curators had ever seen that is constantly brought to our attention as a film that must  be addressed in our efforts to chart a shared cinematic universe of the films of Adam Sandler: 2008’s “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan”

Will this combination of the comedic sensibilities of Sandler, Smigel, and Apatow directed by Dennis Dugan prove too satirical to hold a place in the universe as we have cultivated it so far? We examine Mike Binder's "Reign Over Me" and whether or not it has a place in our shared Adam Sandler Cinematic Universe as Season Four a season for the fans continues.

Along the way we share our theories as to why this film came up so frequently in the fan requests for us to watch and discuss that while it will always be remembered as Adam Sandler's 9/11 movie how this film represents an anthology of grieving set against the aftermath of the attack on the World Trade Center

It’s a brand new frontier we are hoping to conquer this season and we;re learning on the fly. We continue season five’s theme of Reboots, Remakes, and Re-dos with the 2005 revival of “The Longest Yard.”

In what may be one of the most faithful remakes ever released in the history of cinema, we watch Adam Sandler join with Burt Reynolds, the star of the original, to modernize the themes and stakes for a new generation of viewers. 

It’s a herculean task determining if this remake is worthy of inclusion in our version of The Adam Sandler Cinematic Universe, and one that we admittedly might not be completely able to tackle, so you’ll have to listen to find out if we are able to succeed or if this ends with a turnover on downs.

We continue our journey into the world of Adam Sandler Reboots, Remakes, and Re-Dos in this months episode  by looking at the film that would later be remade as an FX original series starring Charlie Sheen 2003’s “Anger Management”

In a double whammy since both this film and last month’s were both directed by Peter Segal we decided to hold off on passing judgement on “The Longest Yards” until we watched and collected the data this month to make sure we had all the facts before making our decision. 

Will we be able to compartmentalize our personal feelings towards this film to observe without bias? I guess you’ll just have to listen to find out.

We continue this season’s theme of Reboots, Remakes, and Re-Do’s with a film that just so happens to be all three 1993’s “Coneheads” starring Dan Akyroyd, Jane Curtin, and Laraine Newman while introducing Michelle Burke.

Could the third film inspired by a Saturday Night Live sketch turn out to be one of the most important and influential films discussed during our journeys map our Cinematic Universe even in spite of the fact that only featuring a few grain of Sandler?

Wrapping up our Season Five theme of Reboots, Remakes, and Re-dos we take the time to re-examine the seventh film we assessed on our journey to create our own shared cinematic universe of the film’s of Adam Sandler 2011’s “Just Go With It.”

It being the first film to judged after our core six films that we knew composed the foundation of what we were setting out to build, Sejohn was fearful we may not have given it a fair shot so it is back in our crosshairs for a second chance. 

As a bonus the film itself is a remake of the 1969 film “Cactus Flower” so it fits nicely with the rest of the films that had their moment in the spotlight during season five.

The Adam Sander Cinematic Universe returns for Season Eight by returning to the disrupted theme for Season Six: The Sandler Sequels

Kicking off this latest excursion we watch the 1996 film “Bulletproof” since it is the rare film that has a sequel that doesn’t feature Adam Sandler at all in the 2020 film “Bulletproof 2”

With all of the baggage this fitm is carrying will it be able to find a place on our star charts of a shared Adam Sandler Cinematic Universe? Though perhaps despite its potential it may have arrived too soon to be a serious contender for consideration. You’ll have to listen to find out.

Finally after a year in the making The Adam Sandler Cinematic Universe gets to discuss the Grown Ups films starting with “Grown Ups”  initially released in theaters June 25, 2010.

Will the delay in getting to embrace our Season 8 theme of the Sandler Sequels prove to a boon or a curse in exploring the film?

Its been a month and now it is finally time for The Adam Sandler Cinematic Universe podcast to finish their discussion about the Grown Ups films with “Grown Ups 2,”  initially released in theaters July 12, 2013, as part of their Season Eight Theme of The Sandler Sequels.

In our attempts to figure out if this franchise has a place amongst our star charts of a shared cinematic universe of Adam Sandler’s films we will also be tackling the mysteries of why this films that shares so much with other much maligned offerings from the same actor doesn’t catch the same types of criticism and complaints. 

All in all the next three episodes where we find ourselves on holiday in Transylvania should prove to be an interesting chapter in our continuing curations.
