14 Jun 2022 | Episode #384 - The 2022 Stanley Cup Final Preview | 00:57:24
The Stanley Cup Final is here! Let's find out if Carl is emotionally prepared for it. After making quick work of the Edmonton Oilers, the Colorado Avalanche had to wait to find out their opponent. The Tampa Bay Lightning bounced back after two loses to eliminate the New York Rangers, after a late goal seemed to break their confidence. Was their any way that New York could over come the Tampa forecheck? Nick provides Carl with the help that he needs heading into a stressful Stanley Cup Final. How does one properly prepare for this? We also look at the goalie matchup of Darcy Kuemper vs Andrei Vasilevsky, the annoying schedule and whether Conference Final trophies should be touched. The Buffalo Sabres are retiring Ryan Miller's number. But is he eventually destined for the Hall of Fame? All this and more on episode 384 of the 4th Line Hockey Podcast! The guys are back and Carl has gotten Joel in a mood. But he won't let Carl say why. (Hint: If you stay to the end, you'll know why. Don't skip to the end right now. Don't do it!) With both the All Star game rosters and the Team Canada Men's Olympic roster being announced this week, it left us asking a lot of questions such as: Why are so many players going from certain teams? Why isn't Phil Kessel on the team? Why would Cale Makar turn down Team Canada? Carl continually gets excited about the Colorado Avalanche. Please bear with him. Two more teams are put into the Elimination Station: The Florida Panthers and the Ottawa Senators. What can be done to turn these two teams around and get them back into playoff contention? Joel has a theory about the Montreal Canadiens, and he doesn't like it. Lastly, the Pavel Bure Must Watch Games of the Week are selected! 11 Sep 2017 | Episode 148 - The Central Division Preview | 01:02:06
The guys recorded a little early this week, missing out all of the hot PTO signings late in the week. However, they were able to talk about the Flames' signing of Sam Bennett and preview the Central division. - We learn that starting the show by talking about the Colorado Avalanche is a bad idea if we want Carl to be in a good mood. The Avalanche have to be better than last year (right?), but are they still the worst in the league? - The Dallas Stars have a new goalie (Ben Bishop) and an expensive new winger (Alex Radulov). Can this return them to the division title they held two years ago? - The Winnipeg jets have a new goalie (Steve Mason) and an incredibly talented young center (Mark Scheifele). Can this return them to the playoffs? - We all know those teams that we always think are better than they actually perform. The St. Louis Blues are one of them. Will Jake Allen live up to the expectations finally? - The Nashville Predators were surprise Stanley Cup finalists. Now what? - Aside from the acquisition of Tyler Ennis, the Minnesota Wild maintained status quo. It worked well enough before. Don't mess with success, right? - The Chicago Blackhawks continue to re-tool and adjust to pay for their expensive stars. When does the run end?
