Jannik Sinner saves 3 match points en route to defeating Novak Djokovic in a dramatic singles rubber, before teaming up with Lorenzo Sonego in the decisive doubles to defeat Djokovic (again!) and Kecmanovic to send Italy into their first Davis Cup Final since 1998. Meanwhile, Alexei Popyrin and Alex De Minaur got the job done efficiently for Australia on Friday, dispatching Otto Virtanen and Emil Ruusuvuori in straight sets and ending the dream of the Finnish team and fans. Australia are aiming to go one better and improve on their runner up position from the 2022 Finals.
