Jason brings us the third of his weekly NFL division previews heading into the start of the regular season, this time with the NFC North. Will the Minnesota Vikings repeat as division champs? J-Mac has the answer to all those questions. Later, The Athletic's Paul Tenorio swings by for a lengthy conversation surrounding Lionel Messi's MLS debut coming up on Friday night for Inter Miami.

On today’s episode, Jason discusses why he’s so down on Sam Darnold and the Minnesota Vikings in the wake of their blowout loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football, why you shouldn’t be surprised that Tyreek Hill wants out of Miami and which NFL coaches are most likely to get the axe on Black Friday. Plus, J-Mac gives us a way-too-earlyNFL Wild Card round preview from a wagering perspective.

23 Sep 2024Straight Fire - Cowboys Crushed Again, Bad Vibes in Vegas and Philly & the Floundering 49ers00:49:46

On today's episode, Jason discusses why the latest debacle in Dallas proves that the Cowboys aren't one of the top-6 teams in the NFC, whether or not the San Francisco 49ers are going to get healthy fast enough to re-claim their throne atop the NFC West, why Antonio Pierce and Nick Sirianni may need to start updating their LinkedIn pages as the Las Vegas Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles continuing to play uninspiring football and if the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs should still be 'feared' across the NFL. Later, J-Mac hits us with his Best Bets for the Monday Night Football doubleheader featuring the Buffalo Bills vs Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cincinnati Bengals vs Washington Commanders.

08 Feb 2023LeBron Makes History in Another Lakers Loss + FS1 NBA analyst Ric Bucher00:41:36

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started by sharing his thoughts on LeBron James officially becoming the NBA's all-time scoring leader. LeBron has been McIntyre's GOAT for years and this record-setting performance only cements the fact. The only problem, however, is that LeBron's milestone moment came in yet another loss against a team they have to leapfrog just to make the NBA playoffs. It's getting harder and harder to truly appreciate what James is doing when the team is this bad. As far as the record goes, it's highly unlikely that anyone will ever break it again, so at least they've got that going for them. Later, FS1 NBA analyst Ric Bucher swings by to discuss how Kyrie Irving might fit alongside Luka Doncic in Dallas, why the Toronto Raptors seem to be holding all the cards right now heading into the NBA Trade Deadline, whether or not the Golden State Warriors should consider trading away some of their young assets in a last-ditch effort to keep their championship hopes alive, if we can expect an All-Star level player like Zach LaVine or Pascal Siakam to be moved in the next 24 hours and much more!

31 Jan 2023The 49ers Should Stay the Course, Keep Aaron Rodgers Away from The Jets & What Kellen More Can Learn From J-Mac00:32:40

On today's episode, Jason gets things started by hitting us with a deep dive into Brock Purdy and the UCL injury that is expected to sideline him for at least 6 months. While some are using the injury as an excuse to float Tom Brady to the San Francisco 49ers as a potential free agent, J-Mac argues that the Niners should stay the course and let Purdy and Trey Lance battle it out for the starting gig. Why spend money on a stopgap signal caller like Tom Brady when you can fill out the rest of the roster with stars to help ease the burden on whichever quarterback is coming off of injury? Later, Jason explains once again why he's vehemently against the idea of his beloved New York Jets bringing in Aaron Rodgers to be their next starting quarterback. Not only is Rodgers aged and expensive but his ornery personality just doesn't seem like a good fit in a city like New York with a roster of young, impressionable stars. Finally, our fearless leader shares a personal story about his own rollercoaster ride from The Big Lead to FS1 to explain why Kellen Moore should view getting dumped by the Dallas Cowboys and eventually scooped up by the Los Angeles Chargers as a good thing. This is going to be a blessing in disguise that could ultimately lead to him getting that coveted head coaching gig in the near future.

30 Nov 2022College Football Playoff Drama + US Soccer legend Eric Wynalda00:36:10

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a few quick thoughts on the latest College Football Playoff rankings. USC is currently sitting at #4, but all signs point to the Trojans jumping TCU at #3 if they end up beating Utah in the Pac-12 Championship game; their resume is just better than the Horned Frogs'. What's more, the possibility of presumptive Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams taking on the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs in the championship game is juicy as heck. However, if USC wins and TCU loses in the Big 12 Championship game, would it make more sense for the committee to elevate Ohio State or Alabama? Definitely something to ponder. Later, US Soccer legend and Sirius XM radio host Eric Wynalda swings by to discuss why Christian Pulisic’s goal against Iran will go down as one of the epic moments in US Soccer history, how and why his comments about Gio Reyna’s availability went viral, why coach Gregg Berhalter’s system can be especially frustrating for forwards who like to score but has been great defensively thus far, the keys to victory for Team USA’s upcoming match against the Netherlands, why the World Cup bracket is set up pretty well for a deep run by the US, and much more!

28 Sep 2023Straight Fire - Damian Lillard Traded to the Bucks & TNF Best Bets00:30:09

On today’s episode, Jason discusses the blockbuster three-team deal that resulted in superstar point guard Damian Lillard being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks and forming a dynamic duo alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. Does this make the Bucks the favorites to win the East? What's next for Portland in the post-Lillard era? Did the Phoenix Suns quietly upgrade their roster as the 'other' team in the deal? Jason has the answer to all of those questions. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with his Best Bets for the Thursday Night Football showdown between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers.

07 Feb 2023Super Bowl Prop Bets, the Dangerous Dallas Mavericks & Debating LeBron's Leadership Style00:32:31

On today's episode, Jason gets Super Week started by revealing a few of his favorite Super Bowl prop bets. You don't have to fire on the Philadelphia Eagles or Kansas City Chiefs this early in the week if you don't love a side; it's totally acceptable to nibble on a few props. Not only are they fun to bet on but you can make a decent amount of money in the process. Then, J-Mac share a quick thought on the Dallas Mavericks' impressive victory over the Utah Jazz. Luka Doncic is still down with injury and Kyrie Irving hasn't joined the squad just yet, but the 'other' guys put on quite a show. If Kyrie can stay on the straight and narrow, Dallas can be very dangerous moving forward. Later, Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) swings by live from Radio Row in Phoenix to debate our fearless leader on LeBron James' leadership style in the wake of the failed Kyrie Irving trade. LeBron spent all weekend posting passive aggressive tweets and then doubled-down on Monday admitting that he was 'disappointed' the deal never got made... only to add :30 later that he thinks this current Los Angeles Lakers team can win an NBA championship as constructed. Wait, what?! One of the guys says he's disappointed that LeBron won't be honest about how he really feels while the other argues that LeBron is doing the best he can to keep locker room morale high in the event they're all stuck together after the deadline. This one got spicy!

20 May 2024Straight Fire - Parity Rules the NBA, the Nuggets Go Down & a Big Summer for the Knicks00:43:49

On today’s episode, Jason discusses the Denver Nuggets inexplicably blowing a 20-point second half lead in their Game 7 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, why all this newfound parity in the NBA is actually a bad thing, why the current Western Conference Finals runs by the Timberwolves and Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks should be enough for Donovan Mitchell to do everything he can to avoided being traded to the Western Conference, why the New York Knicks’ postseason flameout proves that they need to need to trade for a second star to play alongside Jalen Brunson and much more!

11 Aug 2022The Lakers Brass is Full of Liars & Day 3 of Fan Mail00:31:37

On today's episode with Rob G (Robert Guerra) sitting in for Jason, the Super Producer kicks things off with a deep dive into the reports that LeBron James met with Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka and head coach Darvin Ham. LeBron and the Lakers brass seem to be in lock-step on a number of issues heading into next season, specifically as it relates to player accountability, adjusted roles and the belief that the offense should run through Anthony Davis. All of this sounds well and good... until you realize that it's almost impossible to execute this four-pronged plan while Russell Westbrook is on the roster. Pelinka and Ham have maintained publicly all offseason that they have no issue running it back with Russ next season, but it's clear now that they've been lying this entire time. Finally, Rob G closes the show with Day 3 of Fan Mail: Which NFL wide receiver will be a fantasy bust this season? Should Shohei Ohtani win American League MVP again? Why does he hate Tom Brady? Who is the most iconic Los Angeles broadcaster: Vin Scully or Chick Hearn? Some of these answers are spicy!

03 Mar 2023Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The 5 Best Bets to win the NBA Championship00:37:18

On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring us their 5 Best Bets to win the upcoming NBA Finals as we head down the home stretch of the NBA regular season. The Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns are the heavy favorites out of each conference… but do the odds merit a sizeable wager? Can Giannis and the streaking Milwaukee Bucks keep it going in the playoffs? Will longshots like the Steph Curry-led Golden State Warriors or Donovan Mitchell-led Cleveland Cavaliers pay off big in the end? Has LeBron James’ foot injury totally derailed the Los Angeles Lakers or push their odds just high enough to make things interesting? The guys have the answers to all those questions – and more!

During the conversation, Fraschilla shares his thoughts on big men Donovan Clingan and Zach Edey, the Kentucky backcourt of Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham, upperclassmen like Dalton Knecht and Tyler Kolek, the French takeover headlined by Zaccharie Risacher and Alex Sarr, his favorite Draft sleepers and much more!

Later, FOX Sports Radio Weekend host Steve Hartman swings by to discuss his decades-long feud with Los Angeles Chargers owner Dean Spanos (12:43), his assertion that it was actually the NFL league offices who strong-armed the club into firing head coach Brandon Staley before the season was over (21:33), whether or not Justin Herbert is as good as his hype would suggest (26:08), why he believes the club has to do whatever it takes to get Jim Harbaugh as their next head coach (35:33) and much more!

03 May 2024Straight Fire - We are All Knicks Fans Now, the Death of the Super Team Era & Pat Bev the Clown00:28:34

On today’s episode, Jason discusses what makes this current postseason run by Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks so special in the wake of their first round series win over Joel Embiid’s Philadelphia 76ers, whether the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns getting eliminated in the first round proves that the Super Team Era is officially dead and take Patrick Beverley to task for his clownish behavior both during and after the Indiana Pacers’ series-clinching win over Milwaukee. Finally, Jason closes the show with a quick lookahead to the Friday and Saturday night slates of NBA Playoffs games.

15 Jun 2023Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - "Beal or No Beal": Breaking Down the Trade Market for Bradley Beal00:24:26

On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) breakdown the breaking news that the Washington Wizards have agreed to field trade offers for All-Star guard Bradley Beal. Problem is, with Beal having a no-trade clause and the NBA's new - and extremely punitive -  Collective Bargaining Agreement coming down the pike, it's not as simple as selling to the highest bidder. That's why the guys have decided to play a game of 'Beal or No Beal' aimed at finding the perfect trade partner. Would a deal built around Tyler Herro be enough to get Beal to the Miami Heat? Can the Los Angeles Lakers field a competitive offer without including Anthony Davis? Should the Boston Celtics flip Jaylen Brown to pair Beal with Jayson Tatum? Would the New York Knicks empty their treasure trove of first round picks to get Beal out of DC? Is Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris' expiring contract enough for the Philadelphia 76ers to get into the mix? Could the Portland Trail Blazers offer the #3 overall pick to pair Beal alongside Damian Lillard? The guys have all those answers - and more!

04 Jul 2022Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - T'Wolves are Going for It with Gobert, Why NBA Draft Picks are Overrated + Actor/Singer Leon00:43:40

On today’s special 4th of July episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on blockbuster trade that saw the Utah Jazz send big man Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Folks around the NBA insist that the Jazz 'won' the trade since they got 4 first round picks in the deal, but J-Mac argues that Minnesota deserves credit for pushing all in in hopes of cracking the top-4 of the Western Conference; the T'Wolves should be one of the top teams in the West during the regular season, and given the franchise's history of mediocrity, any type of postseason run should be viewed as a home run. Moreover, have you seen what the Jazz roster looks like these days? Gross. They're more likely to trade Donovan Mitchell and start tanking their way to the bottom than they are to make the playoffs next season. Later, actor/singer Leon swings by to discuss why some cast members on the set of the hoops classic ‘Above the Rim’ were jealous of his wardrobe, what it was like playing pickup with Michael Jordan back in college, how Kevin Durant’s trade demand out of Brooklyn could impact the rest of the NBA moving forward, why it was such a big mistake for Durant to leave the Golden State Warriors, how Jordan’s Bulls would have fared against the Durant-Steph Curry Warriors, and much more!

On today’s episode, Jason tells us which AFC quarterback (Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Tua Tagovailoa or Justin Herbert) should be viewed as the 2nd best signal caller in the conference behind Patrick Mahomes, why one NFL quarterback and one NFL head coach are already on the hot seat just two weeks into the season, who he has as the most surprising 2-0 team in the League, whether or not Sean Payton can afford to stick with Russell Wilson as his starting quarterback and much more! 20 Mar 2023Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre – Drew Timme’s NBA Future, Brandon Miller vs Scoot Henderson & Bronny’s Big Decision00:37:43

On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) get things started by recapping the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Top seeds Alabama and Houston still look like the cream of the crop, but if Drew Timme keeps dominating the way he has been then maybe it’s time to throw Gonzaga in the mix as well. Timme is one of the best college players we’ve seen in a decade. However, given his overall lack of prototypical size and athleticism, it’s hard to see exactly how his game translates to the NBA. Alabama superstar Brandon Miller, on the other hand, has a game that seems built for the NBA but he’s struggled mightily in the tournament. Are his issues strictly health-related or is that infamous murder investigation finally starting to get to him? Finally, J-Mac and Rob close the show by sharing their thoughts on Bronny James’ looming decision whether to go to college next year or go pro in a place like the G-League or Overtime Elite.

06 Oct 2022Defending Anthony Davis, Draymond Green Decked His Teammate + CBS Colorado sports reporter Justin Adams00:39:46

On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick defense of Anthony Davis in the wake of the online backlash that hit the Los Angeles Lakers big man after he sat out Wednesday’s preseason game with a back issue. Has anyone noticed that AD has actually been more available than superstars like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Kyrie Irving? Why the talking heads have taken Davis to task but let the other guys slide is beyond me. Sticking in the NBA, multiple outlets reported that Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole at practice on Wednesday. Almost immediately after the news broke several reporters tried to spin the news in Green’s favor. Chances are this whole thing blows over, but if it doesn’t, you just know the Golden State Warriors would choose Poole. Later, CBS Colorado sports reporter Justin Adams swings by to preview the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts, how the Denver offense has turned Russell Wilson into the rookie year version of himself, where Wilson ranks in the hierarchy of AFC West quarterbacks, why it’s become clear that head coach Nathaniel Hackett is in over his head, the possibility that Eric Bieniemy could become the next head coach of the Colorado Buffalos, and much more! On today’s episode, Jason discusses what’s next for the Dallas Cowboys following their shocking loss to the Arizona Cardinals, whether the Dolphins hanging 70 on the Broncos says more about Miami or Denver, where his beloved New York Jets go from here after yet another ugly offensive performance, which NFL head coach made the worst coaching decision of the day and much more! 15 Jun 2022Steph Curry and the NBA Mount Rushmore + Former NFL MVP Shaun Alexander00:27:50

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started by discussing Dwyane Wade's assertion that the NBA Mount Rushmore should be expanded to five players to include Steph Curry. If the Mount Rushmore is based on a player's impact on the game of basketball, and not necessarily championships or who we determined to be the all-time best players, then Steph certainly has a case. However, are we sure he's more impactful in the modern era than guys like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and LeBron James? That's the problem with exercises like this; you can only keep 4 guys, and unfortunately, Curry probably doesn't make the cut. Later, former NFL MVP Shaun Alexander swings by to discuss the joy he gets from being a father of 12, his upcoming Fatherhood Festival event this weekend in Canton, why he hasn't allowed his boys to play tackle football yet, his time as a league MVP with the Seattle Seahawks, why he views Jonathan Taylor, Nick Chubb, Dalvin Cook and Derrick Henry as a cut above the other running backs in the NFL, and much more!

27 Sep 2024Straight Fire - The Cowboys-Giants Mid-Off on TNF + NFL and CFB Best Bets00:26:16

On today’s episode, Jason discusses the dreadful 'mid-off' between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football, where Dak Prescott ranks amongst the best quarterbacks in the NFC East and the idea that the Giants could be 'quiet tanking' in order to get a franchise quarterback to replace Daniel Jones in the 2025 NFL Draft. Later, J-Mac hits us with his Best Bets for the Saturday college football slate and Week 4 in the NFL

19 Apr 2023Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Draymond Deserved That Suspension, the Last Days of the Warriors Dynasty & the Unimpressive Phoenix Suns00:41:51

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) share their thoughts on the NBA's decision to suspend Draymond Green one game for stomping on the chest of Domantas Sabonis in Game 2. Green's history of unsportsmanlike behavior absolutely played a role in the decision - and for good reason; The NBA had to take a stand. The only question now becomes whether or not this will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and leads to Golden State parting ways with Green after the season. Later, the guys hit us with their rapid fire reaction to all of the NBA's Tuesday night playoff action. Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns evened things up with the Los Angeles Clippers, but they didn't look very impressive in the process. In fact, J-Mac and Rob G actually have more questions about Phoenix now than ever before. In the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics reminded us once again why the guys both picked them to win the NBA championship, while the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks appear destined to play a long series. Finally, the guys close the show by sharing their Best Bets for Wednesday's NBA Playoffs.

21 Jan 2025Straight Fire - Ohio State Wins the National Championship & Ben Johnson Partners Up With Caleb Williams00:24:59

On today’s episode, Jason discusses Ohio State’s blowout victory over Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff National Championship game, why it was so refreshing to see the uber-talented Buckeyes reach their full potential in the playoffs, whether or not Will Howard should be viewed as an NFL prospect and the likelihood that head coaches Ryan Day and Marcus Freeman make the jump to the NFL in the near future. Later, J-Mac tells us why it’s clear that the presence of Caleb Williams was the deciding to factor in Ben Johnson’s decision to choose the Chicago Bears over the Las Vegas Raiders and shares his thoughts on what he believes would be realistic expectations for Chicago.

18 May 2022Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre – Jimmy Butler Gives the Celtics the Business in Game 1, NBA Draft Lottery & Kevin Durant Ends up in J-Mac's DMs!00:31:30

On today’s episode, Jason shares his takeaways from the Heat beating the Celtics in Game 1 of the ECF. Jimmy Butler gave Jayson Tatum and the C’s the business. Boston’s prodigal son, Grant Williams, couldn’t replicate his game 7 performance and returned to earth as the Heat took off during the 3rd quarter. Tatum kept turning the ball over with Miami’s defense just hounding his squad, but Jason can’t bash Tatum because his team was a bit shorthanded. J-Mac also dives into the NBA Draft Lottery with the Orlando Magic winning the number 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. If Jason had his druthers, he would go with Paolo Banchero but feels that Jabari Smith is the guy to bet on. What will it say about Kevin Durant if the Warriors win the NBA Championship this season? Jason reveals what KD’s response is to that question and gives his preview of game 1 of the Western Conference Finals between the aforementioned Warriors and Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks!

On today's episode, Jason reacts to the latest story on the Cowboys' drama-filled extension talks with Micah Parsons, and Jason breaks down how "America's Team" is quickly becoming too irrelevant to keep that famous moniker. Jason previews what may be the most significant game of the NBA regular season on Thursday night between the Lakers and Warriors. Shohei Ohtani put an exclamation point on his bobblehead night on Wednesday night. Plus, Jason reflects on the time he had the chance to interview the late Val Kilmer.

09 May 2023Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Lonnie Walker Game, Steph Curry's Incredible 3.5 Quarters & Why the Warriors Aren't Dead Yet00:38:00

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring you instant reaction to the Los Angeles Lakers' thrilling Game 4 win over the Golden State Warriors. On a night when Steph Curry put up a triple-double, it was Lonnie Walker IV - not LeBron James or Anthony Davis - who sealed the win in the fourth quarter for Los Angeles. Jason has been calling for more Lonnie for weeks now so it was nice to see the young man ball out on the biggest stage. On the flip side, much will be made about Curry's late miscues (two missed jumpers and a game-sealing turnover), but the truth is it was Klay Thompson and Draymond Green who really let the Warriors down late. Then again, maybe this game never comes down to the final minutes if Golden State gets absolutely anything out of Jordan Poole. Either way, J-Mac insists that the Warriors can still win this series in 7 games while Rob believes that 'Lakers in 6' is the most likely outcome. Finally, the guys close the show by delivering their Best Bets for Tuesday night's NBA Playoffs featuring pivotal Game 5s between the Philadelphia 76ers/Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns/Denver Nuggets.

31 Aug 2022The Lakers Aren't a Top-10 Team & The Ringer's Kevin Clark00:34:55

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few quick thoughts on the reports that 'sworn enemies' Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley have been in contact recently and that head coach Darvin Ham envisions the two playing on the court together this season. Wait, what?! If Westbrook is still on the roster on opening night, there is absolutely no way the Los Angeles Lakers can be viewed as a top-10 team in the NBA. The Ringer senior NFL writer Kevin Clark swings by to discuss the trials and tribulations of being an Orlando Magic fan, expectations for Matt LaFleur in his first season without Davante Adams in Green Bay, why he believes Aaron Rodgers cares too much about what other people think about him, Baker Mayfield’s words of warning for the Cleveland Browns in week 1, the San Francisco 49ers’ peculiar decision to keep Jimmy Garoppolo to backup Trey Lance, why he believes the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars could shock some teams this season, the chances that Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots fall flat on their faces, and much more!

21 Apr 2023Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - The Warriors' Winning Formula, Why You Can't Trust Kawhi & Trey Lance Trade Rumors00:40:48

**Please excuse the audio issues throughout the first half of the podcast**

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off by sharing their thoughts on the Golden State Warriors' blowout win over the Sacramento Kings. With Draymond Green suspended, the Warriors went small around Steph Curry and still managed to dominate in the restricted area. Should Golden State stick with the small ball moving forward? Or, was this game just an anomaly given how poorly the Kings shot the ball offensively? Sticking in the Western Conference, the Phoenix Suns barely beat the Kawhi Leonard-less Los Angeles Clippers to take a 2-1 series lead. Even with their starters playing such a heavy load, the Suns should still have enough firepower to get through this series. On the flip side, if you're a Clippers fan, how confident can you feel moving forward with Kawhi as your franchise player? Is it officially time to cut bait from the oft-injured superstar? In the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers win over the Brooklyn Nets was marred by absolutely horrid officiating that saw James Harden get ejected for punching a guy in the groin, Joel Embiid allowed to play after kicking a different guy in the groin and Nic Claxton booted for staring down Embiid after a dunk. Absolutely ridiculous. Later, J-Mac closes the show with a deep dive into the reports that the San Francisco 49ers are fielding calls on quarterback Trey Lance. Lance hasn’t done much in his brief NFL career, but with incumbent starter Brock Purdy coming off elbow surgery, are we sure trading Lance is the best idea?

24 Oct 2022Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Brady and Rodgers Seeing How the Other Half Lives, Jets Flying High Again & Mahomes Can't Be Stopped00:46:41

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a lengthy discussion on the swift fall from grace for both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers are each sitting at a disappointing 3-4, and neither team's Hall of Fame quarterback seems capable of pulling his team out of this rut right now. Can you imagine if both of these clubs miss the playoffs?! On a brighter note, the plucky New York Jets just keep on winning. This Jets squad is eerily similar to the Mark Sanchez-led teams from the mid-2000s; If New York could get a little more juice from quarterback Zach Wilson we might start to view them as a legitimate threat in the AFC. One team that's getting a ton of juice from their quarterback, however, is the Kansas City Chiefs. Did you see what Patrick Mahomes did to that vaunted San Francisco 49ers defense? Granted, the injury bug has hit the Niners pretty hard as of late, but the way Mahomes played on Sunday we doubt even a fully-healthy San Francisco squad could have slowed him down. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with the Monday Night Football Chicago Bears-New England Patriots edition of the Best Bet.

11 Apr 2022Only 5 Teams Can Win the NBA Championship00:51:12

On today's episode, Jason is back from vacation with a vengeance as he and Producer Rob G bring you the definitive preview of the NBA Playoffs. Both guys are predicting that Joel Embiid, James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers will get bounced in the first round, and neither one thinks the upstart Memphis Grizzlies are poised to make a deep playoff run. In fact, according to our fearless leader, there are only 5 teams who can the NBA championship this season: Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks. The Suns with Devin Booker and Chris Paul are easily the best team in basketball, and the Bucks with Giannis Antetokounmpo are the defending champions, so it's obvious why those two teams are in. The Miami Heat have been the best team in the East for most of the season, so they're in. The Nets and Mavs picks, however, are not without controversy. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are fantastic, but can they get through that kind of gauntlet (Celtics, Bucks, Heat) without playing any defense? The Mavs have Luka Doncic, but are we sure that his calf strain is as mild as some reports are suggesting? Only time will tell!

On today’s episode, Jason discusses Dan Hurley’s controversial decision to spurn the Los Angeles Lakers and return to coach at UConn, the narrative that Hurley and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski used the Lakers as leverage to get more money from the Huskies and whether the club will pivot back to JJ Redick to fill their head coaching vacancy. Later, J-Mac shares a wild Instagram direct message exchange he had with Kevin Durant and wonders aloud if KD is privately jealous that he’s no longer at the forefront of NBA conversations these days.

27 Feb 2023Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre – Keep an Eye on Joel Embiid, An Unbelievable Russell Wilson Story & Damian Lillard Drops 7100:30:09

On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) get the party started by with a lengthy conversation on two of the biggest storylines from the weekend that was in the NBA. The new-look Los Angeles Lakers came back from 27 points down to stun Luka Doncic and the Mavericks in Dallas. Is it time to start taking them seriously in the Western Conference? Or did this game say more about the Mavericks’ shortcomings than anything LeBron James and Co. did. In the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers came up short against Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics on Friday night. The loss isn’t all that surprising… until you consider the rumblings that James Harden is seriously considering a return to Houston after the season. If the Sixers flame out of the postseason yet again, and Harden does in fact end up leaving, would they blow it up and ship superstar big man Joel Embiid out of town as well? Later, J-Mac goes solo to explain why he doesn't believe Friday's report that Russell Wilson tried to get Pete Carroll and John Schneider fired when the trio were all together in Seattle; Any objective person can tell that's just not in Wilson's character. Finally, our fearless leader closes the show by paying homage to Damian Lillard for dropping 71 points in Portland's win over the Rockets. We've always been big fans of his.

10 Apr 2024Straight Fire - Lakers Losing Ground, Giannis Goes Down & the Suns are Setting00:27:24

On today’s episode, Jason discusses how the Los Angeles Lakers’ Tuesday night home loss to the Golden State Warriors sets up the very real possibility that LeBron James and the fellas will have to win two play-in games just to make the playoffs (2:09), why some Lakers fans are actually hoping that their team fizzles out down the stretch so they can axe head coach Darvin Ham (15:31), how Giannis Antetokounmpo’s calf injury could impact the Milwaukee Bucks both in the short and long-term (24:51) and why it was so disheartening to see the Phoenix Suns get bludgeoned on their home floor by the Los Angeles Clippers in what was essentially a must-win game (27:40).

01 Apr 2022Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Giannis for MVP, the Harden Honeymoon is Over + FOX Sports Radio host Aaron Torres00:46:36

On today's episode, Jason and Producer Rob G kick things off with a deep dive into the incredible play as of late of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak has scored at least 40 points in consecutive wins over Joel Embiid's 76ers and Kevin Durant's Nets. At we head down the home stretch, Giannis is making a hell of case to earn his 3rd NBA MVP award. And yet, for whatever reason, current and former players continue to discount his overall play. I guess it's true what they say - folks will build you up just to tear you down. Later, the guys explain why it's become abundantly clear that the honeymoon phase is officially over for James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers. Not only has Harden's play tapered off considerably, but now we've got head coach Doc Rivers taking shots at him through the media. With the way things have been going, are we sure the Sixers even get out of the first round in the rugged Eastern Conference? Finally, FOX Sports Radio host and college basketball analyst Aaron Torres checks in LIVE from the Final Four in New Orleans to discuss how each team matches up with one another, the narrative surrounding Mike Krzyzewski in his final season as the head coach of the Duke Blue Devils, why he's a little conflicted about his preseason pick of the Kansas Jayhawks to win the national championship, what's gone wrong for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats, and much more!

02 Jun 2022Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Steph Curry's Shot at NBA History & Do Folks Really Believe in the Boston Celtics?00:22:59

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a quick note on a minor transaction in the NBA that could end up paying big dividends. The Brooklyn Nets' decision to differ their first round pick from the Philadelphia 76ers to 2023 is something more folks should be talking about. If the James Harden experiment continues to go awry or if Joel Embiid gets struck by another injury (neither of which would be all that shocking), the Nets could find themselves with a lottery pick. Later, Jason brings you an in-depth preview of the upcoming NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. J-Mac has already gone on the record as picking 'Warriors in 6', and that seems to be a pretty common prediction from NBA analysts. At this point, it almost feels like anyone who is picking Jayson Tatum and the Celtics to win the series is only doing so as a way to cut through the media clutter. Having said that, if Golden State does in fact bring home the bacon, what then will that mean for Steph Curry's legacy? Would he have passed Magic Johnson as the greatest point guard in NBA history? Does it end any debate about whether or not he's a better player than Kevin Durant? Would a championship and an NBA Finals MVP vault him into the all-time top-10?

Ryan Tannehill was tremendous Derrick Henry accounted for two touchdowns. On the flip side, Aaron Rodgers was mostly bad save for a few throws here and there. Later, Westgate Las Vegas Vice President of Race and Sports Operations Jay Kornegay swings by to discuss how the SuperBook dealt with bets made on the Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns after the game was moved to a neutral site due to inclement weather, why the number of the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Indianapolis Colts keeps moving in Indy’s direction, why it appears as though the Pros are on the Carolina Panthers and the Joes are on the Baltimore Ravens, where the sharps are in the AFC East showdown between New England Patriots and the New York Jets, how difficult it was to set the line for the big NFC showdown between the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys, why the sharps have been in on the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks for most of the season, why publicizing the betting action is more about entertainment rather than giving bettors an edge, and much more! 09 Jun 2023Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Top 10 NBA Dynamic Duos, Phoenix's Plan at Point Guard On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off by using the incredible postseason run by the Denver Nuggets tandem of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray as a backdrop to debate the top-10 dynamic duos in the NBA right now. Are LeBron James and Anthony Davis still the best in the business? Have Kevin Durant and Devin Booker been together long enough to crac& Jokic or Wembanyama?00:27:58

On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off by using the incredible postseason run by the Denver Nuggets tandem of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray as a backdrop to debate the top-10 dynamic duos in the NBA right now. Are LeBron James and Anthony Davis still the best in the business? Have Kevin Durant and Devin Booker been together long enough to crack the top-5? How much did the Boston Celtics’ playoff flameout cost Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown? Later, the guys discuss the report that Chris Paul will wind up either in Phoenix or Los Angeles next season. If CP3 ends up with a team like the Los Angeles Lakers, could the Suns replace him with another disgruntled point guard like James Harden? Interesting. Finally, J-Mac and Rob close the show by discussing whether or not they’d consider trading Jokic for the first overall pick and the rights to draft French phenom Victor Wembanyama.

17 May 2023Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Jokic's All-Time Great Performance, the Lakers' Confidence Level & Wembanyama to the Spurs00:38:30

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) kick things off by sharing their thoughts on Nikola Jokic's legendary performance in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals (31 points, 21 rebounds, 14 assists). It was truly one of the greatest statistical games in NBA Playoffs history. Having said that, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers still managed to come back from a 21-point second deficit and give themselves a chance to steal the game at the end. So which team should feel better about this one heading into Game 2: the Nuggets or the Lakers? I think we can agree that both sides have many reasons to feel optimistic. Later, the guys share a few thoughts on the San Antonio Spurs winning the NBA Draft lottery and the rights to select French big man Victor Wembanyama. Would we have preferred that Wemby end up on a team with more surrounding talent? Yeah, but at least we know the Spurs will ensure that the Frenchman lives up to his otherworldly potential. Finally, J-Mac and Rob close the show by making their Best Bets for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat.

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) get the party started by sharing their thoughts on the unbelievably boring Thursday Night game between the Washington Commanders and the Chicago Bears. The fact that Ron Rivera's postgame rant is getting more play on Friday morning than the game itself speaks volumes. Later, the guys hit us rapid fire with sports takes on everything from UCLA's case as a dark horse College Football Playoff contender to whether or not Josh McDaniels could be one-and-done as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Oh, and with NBA Opening Night around the corner, J-Mac and Rob G tell us whether or not we should expect the LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers to miss the playoffs yet again. Finally, Vegas Insider ‘Chasing That Paper!’ host Joe Osborne swings by to discuss why he likes – but doesn’t quite love – the Buffalo Bills to cover the spread this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, why the public bettors might be on to something by going to heavy on the New Orleans Saints over the Cincinnati Bengals, why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Pittsburgh Steelers is one of the biggest mismatches on the board, why he’s betting the over in the Minnesota Vikings vs Miami Dolphins game, why he loves the Seattle Seahawks with the points against the Arizona Cardinals, and much more!

02 Sep 2022Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Donovan Mitchell to the Cavs, Some Turbulence for Tom Brady & Week 1 College Football Best Bets00:28:20

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a deep dive into the blockbuster trade that saw the Utah Jazz send All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It's really exciting to see middle class NBA teams like the Cavs (and the Atlanta Hawks before them) swings for the fences; Having this much high-end talent spread throughout the NBA makes the League so much deeper than in year's past. However, the reality is that while a foursome of Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen is still probably no better than 4th in the Eastern Conference next season. The one saving grace for Cavs fans though is Cleveland's roster is easily better than what LeBron James has cooking with the Los Angeles Lakers. Moving over to the NFL, it was reported on Thursday that Tom Brady is going through serious marital troubles over his decision to abruptly un-retire and return to the NFL. As any married man can tell you, Brady is a very tough spot having to choose between his job/passion and his family. Bucs fans have to be at least a little worried entering this upcoming season. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with a very special College Football Week 1 edition of the Best Bet.

On today’s episode, Jason discusses the Dallas Mavericks’ inexplicable second-half meltdown in Game 4 that allowed the Oklahoma City Thunder to even the series 2-2, why Luka Doncic’s uneven play (coupled with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s stellar play) in this postseason could ultimately be what does in the Mavs, the narrative that LeBron James was sending a message to the Los Angeles Lakers brass with his decision to sit courtside at a Cleveland Cavaliers playoff game on Monday night and how the WNBA and NFL are capitalizing on their growing popularity in ways that the NBA just isn’t these days. 15 Dec 2022Messi vs. Mbappe in the World Cup Final, Concern About Steph Curry's Shoulder & Will Levis' NFL Draft Stock00:25:08

On today's episode, Jason gets the party started with a quick preview of the upcoming World Cup Final between Argentina and France. It's hard to explain to non-soccer fans how big it is to see Lionel Messi vs Kylian Mbappe in the Final; It would be like seeing Kobe Bryant face LeBron James in the NBA Finals back in 2009. It's arguably the greatest players of their respective generations going head-to-head for all the marbles, you can't beat it. In the NBA, the big news on Wednesday has to be the health of Steph Curry, who left late in the Golden State Warriors loss to the Pacers with a shoulder injury. It's still unclear how long Curry will be out, but given that the Warriors have been absolutely atrocious on the road even with Steph, it's hard now to be just a little bit concerned about the team moving forward. Later, Jason hits us with a way-too-early lookahead to the 2023 NFL Draft. Many expected this would be a quarterback-rich draft given how poor last season's crop graded out but as of now we're stuck with more questions than answers. Kentucky's Will Levis is said to be the best of the bunch, but have you seen the way he's looked against top-flight competition? Yikes. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with the Thursday Night Football (San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks) edition of the Best Bet.
