Rex and his team of former clone troopers capture the Sniper and bring him back to their base on Teth for questioning. They learn that Singh wasn’t his only target, Omega is on his list too.

Rex invites The Bad Batch to Teth but when they arrive with Crosshair he is confronted by Howzer, one of the survivors of Crosshair’s attack on Ryloth. He deflects Howzers questions and explains the experiments on Tantiss and the elite operatives loyal to Dr Hemlock.

Before they interrogate the captured operative further, a second operative arrives and kills him and learns of Omega’s whereabouts.

A team of Clone troopers are dispatched to pick up Omega. But the operative goes rogue in pursuit of his mission.

Witnessing the callous brutality with which the children are treated, as specimens, Karr slowly becomes disillusioned with the Empire and the righteousness of her work.

Facing the cancellation of his project's fundings, Hemlock learns that his clone assassin from Teth has obtained intel on Phee, after interrogating Cid, and sends him after her.

Ahsoka Part 4 "Fallen Jedi" Synopsis

Head Writer: Dave Filoni

Part 4 Written by: Dave Filoni

Part 4 directed by: Peter Ramsey

On Seatos, as they try to repair the ship, Ahsoka thinks about the implications of reaching Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger, and the possibility of having to destroy the hyperspace ring to prevent Morgan Elsbeth and Baylan Skoll from reaching Thrawn, giving Sabine Wren pause since she remains determined to find her friend.

Moments later, they are attacked by several of Morgan Elsbeth's forces, but are able to hold them off. Fearing that Elsbeth will acquire the coordinates to Thrawn's location, Ahsoka and Wren head to the henge on Seatos but are intercepted by Shin Hati and Marrok. Ahsoka kills Marrok and continues on alone, while Wren stays behind to hold off Hati.

Ahsoka reaches Baylan Skoll, and the two engage in a duel; Ahsoka is able to retrieve the map, but she tosses it aside after it burns her hand. Skoll overpowers Ahsoka and sends her plummeting into the ocean as Wren watches in horror. Sabine then holds the map at gunpoint, threatening to destroy it, but Baylan calls her bluff and manipulates her into handing the star map over, promising her that she will see Ezra Bridger again.

After Thrawn's location is revealed, Skoll destroys the map and boards the Eye of Sion with Shin Hati and Sabine Wren and Morgan Elsbeth, as a small fleet of New Republic fighters arrive in the Denab system, led by Hera Syndulla in her ship “The Ghost”. She is joined by her son Jacen and Chopper to stop the ship from jumping into hyperspace, but fail to prevent the Eye of Sion from making the jump.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka awakens in the "World Between Worlds", where she is seemingly reunited with her former Master, Anakin Skywalker.

The Bad Batch, minus Echo, head to a mining planet to gather a valuable, but explosive, ore called Ipsium from a mine recently purchased by Cid. With Wrecker and Omega on lookout an unknown thief manages to evade them and steal the Marauder leaving them stranded on an unpredictably stormy planet.

A brewing dust storm outside and a cave in at the mine’s entrance leave the group stranded inside further worsens their situation as tensions run high in the group, as Omega is finding it difficult accepting the loss of Echo from The Bad Batch that has been compounded by the loss of their home the Marauder.

As Wrecker and Hunter try to remove the boulders at the entrance of the mine, Tech and Omega look for more Ipsium to clear the larger boulders at the entrance. Despite Tech’s unsuccessful attempts to console Omega she wants to be alone.

Wandering the mine she finds more Ipsum to obtain and is joined by Tech. Reaching for the last vein of the ore she falls into a cavern and a series of underground streams. Tech jumps in after her and both are swept away to a large cave pool and a new way out of the mine.

Wrecker and Hunter make their way to join them and emerging from the mine system they seek sanctuary at an abandoned spaceport, where they manage to reach Cid asking for help. But Cid seems preoccupied and non-committal, but reluctantly she promises to send help, but it’ll take a few days. Left stranded tech connects with Omega saying that while he may not show it he feels the loss of Echo just as much as her.

15 Sep 2023Ahsoka Part 5 "Shadow Warrior"01:38:06

WHAT AN EPISODE! We travel to the World Between Worlds in Star Wars Ahsoka Part 5 Shadow Warrior. We loved this episode and chat all about it in our latest podcast.

Ahsoka Part 5 "Shadow Warrior" Synopsis

Executive Producers - Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Carrie Beck

Head Writer: Dave Filoni

Part 5 Written by: Dave Filoni

Part 5 Directed by: Dave Filoni

Hera Syndulla arrives on Seatos where she finds no trace of Ahsoka nor Sabine Wren. Alerted by a noise at the Henge she finds only Huyang holding Sabine’s helmet recalling that he told them both to stay together.

While the X-Wings sweep the nearby forest for Sabine and Ahsoka, Jacen Syndulla senses lightsabers clashing above the noise of the crashing waves as he senses Ahsoka’s presence in the World Between Worlds and reveals to his mother Hera and Huyang his own connection with the Force. Hera orders the X-Wings to begin sweeping the coastline for Ahsoka.

In the World Between Worlds, Anakin explains to Ahsoka that he had been watching her through the Force and deduces that her loss with Baylon Skoll is partially due to her unresolved guilt over the events that drove them apart. He is here to continue their training and gives her the choice to “live or die” as his lightsaber ignites. As they duel Ahsoka has the bridge taken from beneath her and falls into a battle where she relives fragments of her past with Anakin during the Clone Wars.

But Ahsoka doesn’t want to simply be a Jedi of war and refuses Anakin’s teachings, determined to not be held to the legacy of her Master’s past nor those of his Masters from before. Her refusal leads to another duel between them, which Ahsoka wins and chooses to live, accepting that she wasn’t part of the reason for Anakin’s downfall.

Ahsoka is recovered by Hera’s crew after being picked up on Chopper’s scanner. Once she has recovered she uses her powers to learn that Sabine is with Baylon Skol. As she contemplates what to do she sees the Purrgil overhead and realises there is another way to find the Pathway to Peridia. At the same time Hera is contacted by Mon Mothma who informs her that New Republic forces are en route to take her and Ahsoka into custody.

As a New Republic Fleet led by Captain Girard arrives, X-Wing pilot Carson Teva is tasked with holding them up as Ahsoka force-connects to a pod of Purrgil to get them to take her and Huyang to Ezra and Sabine.

Syndulla, Jacen, and Chopper stay behind, with Hera likely to be stripped of her rank at the hands of the Senate for the unauthorised mission, as the New Republic Defense Fleet watches the large pod of Purrgil jump to hyperspace with Ahsoka and Huyang.

With the latest show ended John, Derek and Chris get together to chat about Star Wars The Acolyte Season 1. We discuss our spoiler filled impressions on the full season.

Not as satisfying as it could have been. The central mystery was hidden for far too long leading to a lack of engagement from us. There were some wonderful elements here from the acting to the incredible lightsaber battles. We'll be looking forward to season 2 if there is an announcement

A century before the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic bask in an era of unprecedented peace. Yet, darkness looms as Jedi Master Indara falls victim to a mysterious assailant. Osha Aniseya, a former Padawan turned meknek, is wrongfully accused of the crime and pursued by Jedi Knight Yord Fandar and his Padawan, Tasi Lowa.

As fate intervenes, Osha discovers a shocking truth: her presumed-dead twin sister, Mae, is alive and the true culprit. Jedi Masters Sol, Vernestra Rwoh, and their Padawans, Jecki Lon and Yord, embark on a perilous quest to unravel the conspiracy. Meanwhile, Mae, under the influence of a shadowy master, wages a deadly game against the Jedi, targeting Masters Torbin, Indara, Sol, and the Wookiee Kelnacca.

On the desolate planet Brendok, the origins of the twins are revealed, tied to a coven of Force-wielding witches led by Mother Aniseya. A fateful decision by Osha to embrace the Jedi Path sets in motion a chain of events that will shatter the galaxy.

As the hunt for Mae intensifies, a fallen Jedi, known only as Qimir, emerges as a formidable adversary. The fate of the Jedi Order hangs in the balance as the dark side of the Force grows stronger. A new era dawns, filled with treachery, loss, and the uncertain path of destiny.

The Bad Batch 213 "Pabu" Synopsis

Episode Written by: Amanda Rose Muñoz

Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz

Episode Directed By: Steward Lee

The Bad Batch and Omega help the “liberator of antiquities” Phee Genoa recover a lost artefact from the criminal Lanse Crowder and his henchmen. Crowder tries to kill Phee and keep the artefact and money, but with the help of the Bad Batch they escape.

On the Marauder Phee learns that the Bad Batch have severed ties with Cid, when a transmission comes through from Cid warning Hunter, Wrecker and Tech that their "mutually beneficial" arrangement is at stake and reminding them what she knows about their past.

With no base to return to, Phee convinces the clones to accompany her to the peaceful island of Pabu, her home from home. At Pabu they discover the Archiam where Phee has been bringing the lost artefacts to safety from treasure hunters and dealers. On the island, the Bad Batch are hosted by Mayor Shep Hazard and his daughter Lyana, who befriends Omega as they head onto the water on Lyana’s boat.

However, the rest, good food, and relaxation they are beginning to discover on the apparent island paradise is interrupted by a series of tremors, as a wave surge heads towards lower Pabu.

Hunter heads out on the Marauder and manages to rescue Omega and Lyana from the tsunami just in time, while Tech and Wrecker help Phee and Shep to evacuate the population of Lower Pabu to safety before the destructive wave hits and floods the lower city.

Following the tsunami, the Bad Batch happily agree to stay on and help rebuild Pabu.

With the cargo loaded onto the Chimaera, Grand Admiral Thrawn orders the Eye of Sion to connect with his Stardestroyer to prepare for the return to a galaxy far far away. Elsbeth is rewarded with the Gift of Shadows by the great Mothers and is given the manifested Blade of Talzin to confront the Jedi,

Meanwhile, Ahsoka, Ezra and Sabine make their way to the Nightsisters temple to try and stop Thrawn’s escape and Ezra Bridger constructs a new lightsaber using spare parts from his late master, Kanan Jarrus.

On route they are attacked by two TIE fighters that knock out Ahsoka’s ship. While Huyang and the Noti repair the ship, Ahsoka, Sabine and Ezra make their way to the Chimaera on the back of two Howlers, which has now docked with the Eye of Sion.

Making their way inside the temple they are confronted by Elsbeth and the Night Troopers, whom the Great Mothers keep resurrecting after they are killed. As Ahsoka fights Elsbeth, Sabine and Ezra continue on to try and stop Thrawn. After dispatching literally two Death Troopers, Sabine uses the Force to help Ezra jump onto the Chimaera. She heads back, leaving Ezra aboard the Chimaera, to support Ahsoka attacking the remaining Night Troopers, while Ahsoka kills Elsbeth.

In a last ditch attempt to stop Thrawn they chase after the Chimaera in the repaired shuttle, but are too late as the Eye of Sion jumps to hyperspace, leaving Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang stranded on Peridea.

As Thrawn and the Great Mothers arrive over Dathomir to unload the ship’s cargo, Ezra escapes and reunites with Syndulla and Chopper.

Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang join the Noti and make their new home on Peridea, watched over by Anakin's spirit.

The Bad Batch 212 "The Outpost" Synopsis

Series Created by: Jennifer CorbettDave Filoni, Brad Rau

Episode Written by: Jennifer Corbett

Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz

Episode Directed By: Nathaniel Villanueva

Crosshair is ordered on a mission by the obnoxious and clone-hating Lieutenant Nolan to recover cargo from an Imperial supply depot under attack by local insurgents on the ice-planet of Barton-4. Arriving at the depot it soon becomes apparent that the clone troopers guarding the cargo are severely depleted, with only three troopers remaining.

Commander Mayday’s smile at the arrival of his relief soon disappears when he meets Lt. Nolan, who has no sympathy for Mayday’s predicament. As they prepare to secure the base and transport the supplies off-world the insurgents attack, taking with them two supply crates and in the process killing off Mayday’s remaining troopers Hexx and Veetch.

But Lt Nolan blames the clones for the attack, ordering only Mayday and Crosshair to recover the supplies. Tracking the insurgents, Crosshair finds out that Cdr Mayday is disillusioned with the new Empire that has combat troopers babysitting cargo.

The two troopers recover the supplies but are caught in an avalanche at the insurgent’s mountain base. Mayday is badly injured, but Crosshair manages to carry him back to the Imperial base, where Stormtroopers are loading their new combat armour to take off-planet.

Crosshair requests urgent medical attention for Mayday but is denied by Lieutenant Nolan, and Mayday dies from his injuries. Nolan considers it no loss as in his eyes all clones are a waste of resources and expendable under the new Empire. Hearing this Crosshair shoots his superior officer dead before passing out.

Slowly waking up Crosshair finds himself in a laboratory on Tantis, with Hemlock’s research assistant looking over him warning him that if he cooperates he may survive.

The Bad Batch 210 "Retrieval Synopsis

Series Created by: Jennifer CorbettDave Filoni, Brad Rau

Episode Written by: Moisés Zamora

Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz

Episode Directed By: Steward Lee

The Bad Batch, trying to speed their departure from the arid mining plane, start to fix an old speeder. At the same time Omega, still fixated on the stolen Marauder, has the idea to track their droid, Gonky, on board the ship. She locates Gonky 100 clicks away at another mining settlement, and the group head off on the repaired speeder to get their ship back.

They locate Gonky with the thief, called Benni, but not the Marauder. Benni tells them it is impounded by his boss Mokko at the Ipsum mine and is being stripped of its parts.

The Bad Batch infiltrates the mine bringing Benni along. Finding the Marauder, Wrecker, Hunter and Tech begin fixing the hyperdrive and other systems, while Benni and Omega head off to disable the ray shield preventing them from leaving.

In the mess hall they swipe the access code, but just as they are about to leave Mokko arrives informing them of the ongoing difficulties at the mine. While there to announce the top earner for the month, who gets extra food rations, he also informs his workers that they must work harder for less. Benni is disappointed not to get top earner after stealing the Marauder for Mokko.

Omega and Benni obtain the codes to disable the ray shield, but also finds data that shows the mine is making a good profit which she shares with Benni. But Benni has already ratted them out to Mokko in an attempt to further impress his boss and he captures Omega.

Mokko tries to stop the Bad Batch, using Omega as a bargaining chip. Held over the molten ore, Hunter must rescue Omega. Elsewhere as Mokko’s workers and robots surround Wrecker and Tech, Benni reveals Mokko’s deception to everyone. Turning on their boss, Mokko stumbles, falling into the molten ore.

With the Marauder back with the Bad Batch they prepare to leave the planet. Benni stays at the mine now that the profits will be equally shared, and Omega realises that there are other evils out in the Galaxy beside the newly formed Galactic Empire.

While traveling to the Denab system Sabine Wren restarts her training under Ahsoka and Huyang's guidance as she struggles with her inability to use the Force.

Meanwhile Hera Syndulla meets with Mon Mothma, the Chancellor of the New Republic, and a group of influential senators in order to gain permission to send Republic forces to Seatos.

Despite Mon Mothma's support, the senators refuse to believe that Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger are alive and deny Hera's request.

Having been informed of this by Syndulla, Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang they discover the Eye of Sion, but are intercepted by a squadron of fighters led by Shin Hati and Marrok as Morgan Elsbeth uses the lasers on the Eye of Sion to fire on them.

The group escapes by flying through a pod of giant space faring creatures known as Purrgil and land on the surface of Seatos. They take refuge in the forest as Huyang gives his full analysis on the Eye of Sion which he classifies as a Hyperjump Gate.

However, Shin Hati is aware that they are hiding somewhere in the forest. As a result, her master Baylon Skoll dispatches his forces to hunt them down.

Still annoyed after being stranded by Cid on the mining planet and thinking about finally breaking ties with their unreliable employer, the Bad Batch nonetheless grudgingly head off on a mission from Cid after hearing of a downed ship of cargo ripe for the taking.

Elsewhere on the planet of Tantis, Doctor Hemlock arrives at an Imperial facility where Nala Se, imprisoned following the destruction of Kamino, fails to be persuaded to help Hemlock continue her cloning research. Her refusal to serve the Emperor forces Hemlock to consider other avenues to force her to help.

More bad news piles on Dr Hemlock as his assistant informs him that research Transport 904 has failed to arrive on Tantis. Hemlock orders the recovery of the asset as a matter of urgency.

The Bad Batch arrive at the Transport only to realise that something terrible had befallen the ship and its crew. As they attempt to collect the cargo and restore power a strange beast attacks them seemingly fixated on feeding off pure energy, which accelerates its growth.

Escaping the transport the beast feeds off a nearby town’s power supply and only then does Hunter realise the creature is a Zillo Beast similar to the one that attacked Consurant during the Clone Wars. While Tech and Omega obtain highly classified files from the Imperial ship showing the Zillo Beast was cloned on the orders of the then Chancellor Palpatine.

As the Imperial forces recover the Zillo Beast and round up the inhabitants of the nearby town to keep the Empire’s secret, the Bad Batch escape the chasing fighters on the Marauder. With loose ends to tie up Hemlock orders the tracking of the unknown military-class ship and back on Tantis meets Lama Su, former Prime Minister of Kamino, who informs of a clone girl that is the key to leverage his former head of research.

Part 6 Directed by: Jennifer Getzinger

While travelling with the Purgill, Ahsoka tells Huyang that she sensed Sabine Wren willingly went with Baylon Skoll. Huyang surmises that Sabine’s desire to find Ezra Bridger left her with no other choice.

Meanwhile in the distant galaxy, the Eye of Sion arrives at Peridea, the ancient homeworld of Morgan Elsbeth's people, the Dathomiri. Elsbeth, Baylon Skoll, Shin Hati, and Sabine Wren meet the Great Mothers, a group of Nightsisters allied with Thrawn.

As they wait for the Grand Admiral's arrival, Baylon relates to Shin Hati his belief that the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire were part of an inevitable cycle, one he intends to break.

Thrawn arrives with his Star Destroyer, the Chimaera, and honours Bayoln's promise by providing Sabine with provisions, a mount, and the latest intelligence on Ezra's whereabouts.

After Sabine leaves, Thrawn orders Baylon and Shin to follow her so they can kill both her and Ezra.

Surviving an ambush by bandits, Sabine encounters the native Noti and follows them to their village, where she reunites with Ezra Bridger.

While tracking Sabine, Baylon senses that there is a greater power on Peridea and tells Hati that he intends to find and use it.

Meanwhile The Great Mothers warn Grand Admiral Thrawn that a Jedi is coming with the Purrgil. Deducing that Ahsoka is alive, Thrawn demands all the details of her history from Morgan Elsbeth and asks the Great Mothers to aid him in preparation for Ahsoka's arrival.

Baylan Skoll and his apprentice, Shin Hati, assault a New Republic cruiser carrying Lady Morgan Elsbeth, who had previously been captured by Ahsoka Tano. The pair rescue Lady Elsbeth, who informs Skoll that Ahsoka is searching for Grad Admiral Thrawn.

Ahsoka and her droid Huyang obtain a star map to the location of the banished Grand Admiral Thrawn, despite an attempt by Skoll’s assassin droids attempts to prevent her and obtain the star map for their master.

Ahsoka is informed of Lady Elsbeth's escape by Home One. Regrouping with the fleet, Ahsoka meets with General Hera Syndulla, but Huyang reveals that the star map is locked. Syndulla advises Ahsoka to go to her former Padawan, Sabine Wren, to use her skills to help unlock the map.

On the planet Lothal, the tense relationship between Ahsoka and Sabine is palpable and Wren takes the star map to unlock it back at her home outside the city where she is ambushed by two assassin droids and the apprentice Shin who steal it. As Sabine tries to stop Shin a lightsaber duel ensues and Shin seriously wounds Sabine.

In episode 2 After the attack on Sabine, she recovers at Lothal’s medical facility and soon puts her tech skills to use as she hacks one of the assassin droid's memories. They discover that it had come to Lothal from Corellia.

In the Denab System on the planet Seatos, Baylan Skoll, Shin and Elsbeth at an ancient structure activates the star map which plots a course to another galaxy along the mythological Pathway to Peridia. To reach Thrawn Elsbeth orders Shin to Corellia to oversee Marrock’s final preparations for the final delivery for Elsbeth’s ship, the Eye of Sion.

Elsewhere, to recover the star map, Ahsoka and Syndulla travel to the Corelian shipyards, but as they are inspecting one of Elsbeth’s former shipyard assets a massive hyperdrive begins to depart the shipyard and the pair soon realise that sympathy for the Empire still lingers in the dockyards of Corellia.

As Ahsoka goes to stop Shin and Marrock, the hyperdrive begins its ascent to space. Followed by Hera and Chopper in the Phantom, Hera weaves to avoid the blaster fire from the transporter ship and gets Chopper to attach a tracking device. As the Empire sympathisers are rounded up, Ahsoka heads back to Lothal following a talk with Hera to see if Sabine will come to help find Thrawn, prevent another war and to find her friend and former rebel the Jedi, Ezra Bridger. Sabine Wren is ready!

Derek, Chris and John chat all about Star Wars The Bad Batch Season 3 Episode 5 "The Return" as the team go to an unexpected location as they rebuild trust with Crosshair.

NOTE: Our next Batch Podcast will be out a bit later next week as we're covering two episodes. We're expecting to have it out on Friday the 15th of March.

The Bad Batch 305 "The Return" Synopsis

Series Created by: Jennifer CorbettDave Filoni, Brad Rau

Episode 305 Written by: Amanda Rose Muñoz

Episode 305 Directed By: Nathaniel Villanueva

Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz

After reuniting Omega, Crosshair, Hunter and Wrecker rest up on Pabu and wait for the last member of The Bad Batch, Echo to return. While Crosshair avoids talking to Hunter, Wrecker admits that Omega’s endorsement is enough for him to welcome back his brother.

Echo arrives and debriefs Omega and Crosshair on everything they know that could lead them to Dr Hemlock and Mount Tantiss. Omega still has Nala Se’s datapad but doesn’t have access to it because of the heavy Imperial encryption.

Crosshair suggests that the team go to the abandoned Imperial outpost of Barton IV to use its terminals to bypass the security and activate the data pad.

When they arrive the supply depot has been abandoned and to get enough power to access the terminals to retrieve the data they must power down the perimeter beacons.

With the beacons down the group realise what they were protecting the base from as the Bad Batch must fight off a native monster previously repelled by the beacons. With the datapad accessed, Hunter and Crosshair lure the Monster beyond the perimeter sensors so they can be reactivated and the team can get to their ship.

While on Barton IV the Bad Batch learns about Crosshair’s journey while with the Empire and discovers that he was betrayed by the Empire and had killed an Imperial officer at the same facility. Hunter and Crosshair also manage to begin to talk to one another and rebuild some trust lost after the split of the Bad Batch.

Now aligned together and with more clues to the location of Mount Tantiss the team leave Barton IV to return to Pabu knowing that they just have to keep trying and then there might still be hope.

The Bad Batch Episode 3 "Replacements" Synopsis

Series Created by: Jennifer Corbett, Dave Filoni

Episode Written by: Matt Michnovetz

Episode Directed By: Nathaniel Villanueva

In their escape from the new Empire on Saleucami the Bad Batch’s ship took heavy damage. With Tech unwilling to help Echo complete repairs, their ship, The Havoc Marauder, crash lands on a seemingly desolate planet. When a key capacitor gets stolen by an energy loving native Ordo Moon Dragon, Hunter has to retrieve it before they can take off. With Wrecker out of action after a knock on the head Omega volunteers to go along on the mission. After Hunter is knocked unconscious by the Moon Dragon, Omega steps up and retrieves the stolen part, allowing the Batch to get off the world. While they were away Wrecker set up a room for Omega to make her feel at home and welcome her to the team.

Meanwhile on Kamino, Governor Tarkin wants to test a new group of top conscripted recruits brought to him by Vice Admiral Rampart. With former Batch member Crosshair further reprogrammed by the Kaminoins as their leader, Tarkin sends them to complete the mission hunter refused. They are to wipe out Saw Garrera and his army on Onderon. When the new team arrives, they find a small group of Garrera’s troops evacuating the planet. Crosshair orders them to execute those that are left but when one of the new recruits refuses he’s killed by Crosshair. The rest of the team are told “A good soldier follows orders” and they complete the mission. As a reward for the performance of this Clone led elite squad, Commander Rampart is promoted to Admiral.

Episode Written by: Jennifer Corbett

Story Editor: Matt Michnovetz

Episode Directed By: Steward Lee

The Bad Batch narrowly escape from a Mission on the Vonduun carnivorous crab infested planet of Zav Alox and return to Cid on Ord Mantell. There they meet the pirate Phee who has just provided intel on a big score on Count Dooku’s home planet of Serenno. Cid convinces the reluctant Hunter that this could be the score they need for the Bad Batch to be truly free. On the way to Serenno Echo challenges Hunter on his unwillingness to approach Empire controlled planets. Omega overhears Echo telling Hunter that saving her from Kamino means their lives will never be safe but this score could provide the resources to save many more. On Serenno the team encounters a battalion of Clone Troopers who have already taken two thirds of Count Dooku’s sizable war chest. While Echo, Tech and Omega get trapped inside a transport container in flight, Wrecker and Hunter are pinned down by the troopers in Dooku’s former palace. Hunter discovers a way out of the palace and Omega realises the container will launch reentry thrusters if it’s dropped from the sky. But as they hurtle towards the planet the thrusters haven’t engaged.

On the planet Coruscant, Slip and Cade, two disaffected clone troopers, discuss their mission with Admiral Rampart on Kamino. Cade reveals that he’s shared an ultimatum with the deceptive Imperial Officer. Either Rampart reveals his part in the destruction of Kamino or Cade will tell the Senate himself. But a sniper bullet rings out and Cade is silenced, sending Slip on the run.

In the senate, Emperor Palapatine’s representative Mas Amedda, warns that following the destruction of the cloning facilities on Kamino and the accelerated aging of the clone army a new military needs to be formed. Admiral Rampart has a Galactic Recruitment Bill ready to go but the vocal Senator Riyo Chuchi from the moon of Pantora opposes any new military plan that excludes reparations for the Clone army.

As the clones have no representation in the senate, Chuchi reaches out to troopers to offer her help and meets with Slip who tells her all about Admiral Rampart’s hand in the destruction of Kamino. Senator Bail Organa also suspects the premature end to the clone programme isn’t a coincidence. As Senator Chuchi tries to convince Slip to testify in front of the senate the sniper hits his mark again and Slip is killed. But with the help of former Captain Rex they capture the Sniper and learn he’s been created as the perfect assassin as he kills himself to protect Rampart. Captain Rex calls in The Bad Batch to retrieve the damning evidence from Ramparts Venator to confirm his involvement in the attack.

When it is revealed to the senate, Rampart is arrested and Emperor Palpatine seizes his opportunity. With the revelation that the Clone Troopers are just soldiers who unquestioningly follow orders he proposes a new age heralded by the Imperial Stormtrooper. Realising that they’ve played right into his hands Senator Chuchi vows to continue her fight against him and Echo makes the decision to leave the Bad Batch and help Rex as he can’t turn his back on his Clone brothers.
