For the final night of Elk Camp we are joined by Dylan Eyers of EatWild to discuss strategic early season elk hunting. To close out Sheep Camp, we welcome our friend Kevin Willis on the show. Kevin is a very experienced sheep hunter with a wealth of knowledge on stone sheep. 

We focused the conversation with Kevin on stories from his time pursuing stone rams, and tried to glean some strategies that have helped him find success pursuing "trophy" stone rams. 

There are many definitions of a trophy ram and for each person it is unique. For this conversation we explored the decisions and strategy it takes to uncover stone rams that are not just a legal ram, but are those mature, upper echelon stone rams that we all dream about.

In our first "Sheep Camp" episode, we have Bill Jex (RPBio, Provincial Wild Sheep & Mountain Goat Specialist) leading a conversation on Sheep Harvest Considerations in British Columbia. We are also joined by Kyle Stelter (Chief Executive Officer of Wild Sheep Society British Columbia).

This was a very thoughtful discussion where Bill dives into the "WHY" behind the efforts to encourage hunters to target older sheep, and he continues to welcome hunter input on sheep regulation in BC for the future. Bill shared various data, research, and insights related to this topic. We have no doubt you'll pick up some interesting findings from this episode.

We have Ray Wiens joining us to talk trophy care and sheep caping. We all understand how special the moment is when you harvest a trophy ram, and part of preserving that moment to last a lifetime is how you care for the animal once it hits the ground.  This was a thoughtful discussion on trophy care and sheep caping between Ray & Chuck, with some Q&A from the audience. Ray is a talented taxidermist and widely respected man in the hunting and conservation community and we enjoyed chatting with him.

We are trying a new format for this episode. In this session of Sheep Camp we have Dylan Eyers (EatWild) jumping on the livestream to talk sheep hunting and meat care in the field. If you ask a sheep hunter what their favourite wild meat meal is, most of them will tell you sheep meat. Especially that first taste of sheep meat over the fire once they harvested a ram they worked so hard for.
