24 Nov 2022 | Ep. 36 Introducing the Unmistakable Series | 00:13:10
Today, I have the pleasure of introducing you to a new series that I have been working on - The Unmistakable Series. As you probably know by now, I am fascinated by women's stories. What makes them who they are; What they're obsessed with; What they talk about; How they show up. What's interesting is that we don't necessarily see these things in ourselves. It's when we start to dig, that they appear, it's what I call the red thread. The impact red thread. My theory is that when we tap into that red thread, well, we can start to craft a life on our own terms. So with this series, I want us to explore all the facets that a red thread can take when it is actualized in a woman’s life. What is the impact that a woman can make, that is uniquely hers. The impact that makes her Unmistakable. This December, you will discover three unmistakable women a week, like a visibility advent calendar of sorts. This is my Christmas present to you. A gift to help you think about your visibility and to help you see yourself in other women. Women who have made an impact in a way that is so tangible, that is so uniquely about them, that is Unmistakable. To get some early clues on who some of these women are, listen to the episode ;) The series launch next week, on Friday December 2nd, 2022. I can’t wait to share these interviews with you! 01 Dec 2022 | Ep. 37 Unmistakable Self-Belief: Caroline Codsi, Founder Women in Governance | 00:35:46
On today’s episode, I am interviewing Caroline Codsi, the Founder & Chief Equity Officer of Women in Governance, as the first guest of the Unmistakable Series, on Speaking with Women.
Widely quoted in national and international media, she is the recipient of numerous awards from prestigious organizations including from the United Nations’ Women’s Committee, the Quebec Business Women Network, The Federation of Chambers of Commerce or the New Delhi Women’s Economic Forum. She was also recognized as a Top 20 Diversity Leading Figure in Quebec, Top 75 Canadian Immigrant, Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, and Top 100 Entrepreneurs changing the world. Caroline is a Forbes Business Council member.
She was for me, an example of a woman who was putting herself out there intentionally and as I found out later, the fact that she were putting herself out there in the service of such an important cause made her an even more compelling role model.
The certification her organization gives made it and her absolutely unmistakable in that space. Her commitment to fighting injustice, which you will hear very early in our interview, took a life of its own by creating a powerhouse organization and throwing her full genius for putting herself out there behind that commitment. She is a study in what is possible when a woman has an unflinching belief in her capacity. 3:45 - Caroline speaks about her childhood, the impact of the Lebanese Civil war on her and her family, and how it shaped the woman she became 8:35 - The lessons learned from moving to Paris at a young age, trying to survive by leveraging her communications and networking skills 13:38 - I ask about where her self-belief comes from, and she explains the role her family played in it 18:50 - Her thoughts on how women can be less tough on themselves, and how to keep persevering in the face of hard times 24:42 - How Caroline has flipped the script with Women in Governance, and ‘names and fames’ organizations that are making progress when it comes to Gender Equity 29:00 - Caroline’s three key takeaways: be authentic with your message, be visible, be generous You can find Caroline on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter Her work: Women in Governance If you loved this episode, please rate and review on iTunes!
01 Dec 2022 | Ep. 38 Unmistakable Confidence: Andrea Montreuil, Founder Innodelice | 00:40:25
On today’s episode, I am interviewing Andrea Montreuil, Co-Founder and CEO of Innodelice. Innodelice is the first worldwide ecosystem for frozen desserts, manufacturers, brand owners, importers, and suppliers. Andrea has more than 15 years of experience in the food industry, working in different spheres of the business from strategic sourcing to sales to operations. She is convinced of one thing: Cross-industry collaboration is what it takes to unlock new business value. At Innodelice, Andrea shares her passion, her energy and worldwide connections (after all, people buy from people) for the mutual benefit of our partners.
Andrea and I were first introduced by a common friend, and the first time we met was for a coffee that was supposed to be 15 minutes. It ended up lasting a couple of hours and morphed into a long-lasting friendship, and led to us working together. As you’ll hear in the episode, Andrea’s word is confidence. Born from the confidence her parents gave her when she was taking care of her younger siblings, to the confidence that her husband and kids have in her to find a solution. As she says, she can do hard things.
7:16 - She explains how she learned how to gain confidence at the beginning of her career, and how that changed as her career progressed and her expectations changed 10:38 - I ask her about her career path, how she progressed so quickly to a leadership level, to leaving and starting her own business 15:02 - Why Innodelice was created, and how Andrea leverages the ecosystem that she created to answer the challenges of the frozen desserts industry. 22:06 - On the coaching that she received that helped her clarify her purpose, and changed her career trajectory 28:53 - Her thoughts on entrepreneurship, what she finds easy and hard, and more on her support system 33:28 - Andrea’s three key takeaways: define yourself - the things you do, the things you love, and the environment you operate in - and work to make that as small as possible You can find Andrea on LinkedIn, and her work at Innodelice If you loved this episode, please rate and review on iTunes!
01 Dec 2022 | Ep. 39 Unmistakable Authenticity: Jackie Tardif, President Reitmans | 00:32:35
On today’s episode, I am interviewing Jackie Tardif, the President of the Reitmans banner, as part of the Unmistakable Series, on Speaking with Women. Jackie Tardif joined Reitmans Canada Ltd in 1995 and she successfully progressed through a series of roles gaining extensive management and leadership experience in the retail and fashion business. A passionate, dedicated and driven leader, Jackie always provides guidance to her team to inspire innovative business strategies and high standards of brand execution. As President, Jackie has been able to establish a positive culture of Diversity and Inclusion leading to a real change in the direction of the brand and advocating for diversity, inclusion, respect and equality, whether within the company, in clothing collections or in marketing campaigns. By now you've noticed that every woman in this unmistakable series has a specific word for her. For Jackie, that word was authenticity, which is strange because it's not a word that I like, and I like Jackie a lot. From the very first time that I met her, I felt like she was totally trustworthy, which is another strange word to use, but she seemed like someone who was so fully herself and who showed up in a way that made you feel welcome, even as her leadership was very, very clear. So that's why I was so happy when Jackie accepted to come onto Speaking with Women, because leadership is something that we talk about, think about but that I haven't addressed that much on Speaking with Women. I am super happy to be bringing leadership to the lens of this conversation with someone whose actual leadership I admire so much. 3:45 - Jackie speaks about her childhood, growing up as the last one of 4 girls, and the impact that had on her. 5:15 - On the impact that sports had on her, how it taught her how to handle pressure, how to be a team member and to lead 9:50 - On how to build diverse teams based on chemistry, respect, and shared values 13:20 - I asked Jackie how she has stayed in retail for most of her career, and what keeps her engaged 18:25 - Why Reitmans decided to take a stand on Diversity & Inclusion 23:00 - Her take on being a visible woman in the workplace, and how to keep self-care at the center 25:45 - Jackie’s 3 key takeaways: networking, lobbying, and staying true to yourself. To learn more about Jackie, you can find her on LinkedIn and Instagram If you loved this episode, please rate and review on iTunes!

Damaly’s word: Unmistakable Boldness I first discovered Damaly's work through a business network of entrepreneurs that we both belonged to, and I began to follow her on Facebook. Action is on my mind a lot when it comes to visibility. So I wanted to start the year up by having a conversation about what it takes to get into action. Don’t get me wrong. So in this episode, I want to set up getting into action as the multi-dimensional activity that it is. I want to help identify those things that will get you started in a sustainable way and those which might get in your way. In other words, we´ll dive deep into "enablers" and "derailers". I also want to take this opportunity to offer you my brand new ebook: Getting Started With Unapologetic Visibility. If you loved this episode, please rate and review on iTunes!

10 Apr 2023 | Ep. 57 Why you should stop searching for your purpose | 00:35:48
IHave you been desperately seeking purpose? (If you get the reference in that title, you are my people…or maybe just my age) Have you reached that phase in your life when you feel like there has to be something more? Where you are wondering “what’s next”? Are you feeling antsy and annoyed with where you are at in your life (even if outwardly it looks great) Spoiler alert, I don’t think this pursuit is particularly useful, in fact I think it might be downright harmful keeping us simultaneously spinning and stuck. In this episode I want to question the usefulness of this pursuit and explore how the search for purpose can lead to a black-and-white worldview that doesn't allow for play, experimentation, or change. And because I do want to be a useful contributor to the conversation rather than saying “this sucks” and not giving an alternative, I have an alternative for you. One that has worked for me and helped me find a sense of purpose (hint hint) If you loved this episode, please rate and review on iTunes!
25 Apr 2023 | Ep. 58 Playing the long game with Susan Prince | 00:51:26
In this special episode, I am thrilled to share the story of my client Susan. Susan is the perfect case study. She used her visibility to create the professional reality she wanted for herself. She also did this by playing the long game. Identifying the professional risks she was facing by being invisible and putting in place a strategy and a plan to future proof her career. Today she works in a space she loves that utilises her gifts, she is able to clearly articulate her value (in fact she smoothly integrated it in our interview). 01 May 2023 | Ep. 59 Your story matters "there is work to do" | 00:27:26
This episode is very close to my heart because (1) it was practically a download and (2) it is about stories, specifically women's stories, and why they matter. I want to dedicate this episode to a dear friend who believes her story doesn't matter, and to all the women who have shared their stories with me, only to later decide that they weren't worth telling. I'd like to start by recommending the book "Cassandra Speaks: When Women are the Storytellers, the Human Story Changes." It's a powerful read that highlights the impact of the stories we tell on culture and how that has affected women. In this episode, I want to explore why your story matters. I'll share three reasons why I believe this to be true. We'll also look at some of the obstacles that might be preventing you from sharing your story, and how to reframe your thoughts around this. I want us all to agree that visibility is activism and that your voice matters. Visit my new website www.thebeauvoirgroup.com If you loved this episode, please rate and review on iTunes!
