This week Tom & Zeus break down the KISS Destroyer 45th Anniversary Super Deluxe Box Set, Disc 2, "Destroyer-Era Demos." The KISS album Destroyer was released in 1976 and is considered to be one of KISS' most legendary albums. For it's 45th anniversary, Destroyer became the first KISS album to be given the Super Deluxe Box Set treatment.  Disc 2 of the Destroyer Box set is filled with 15 demos, most of them unreleased. The songs capture the early sound of KISS, pre-Bob Ezrin. Most of the songs went on to become songs or lyrics of future songs that ended up on KISS albums, Destroyer, Rock & Roll Over and Gene Simmons' solo album in 1978.  The guys breakdown the tracks SIOL style and then rank the songs like SIOL KISS album reviews.  It ain't the smoke that burns ya! On the 39th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1988 concept album by Queensryche, "Operation: Mindcrime." This was Queensryche's 3rd studio album. Lead singer, Geoff Tate cam up with the idea of the concept album after living in Canada and then convinced guitarist, Chris DeGarmo who then got the rest of the band interested. The story is about a man named, Nikki who gets involved in political assassinations, drugs and revolutions. The band was led by vocalist Geoff Tate and his unique look and incredible vocal range. The dual guitar attack of Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton and rhythm section of bassist, Eddie Jackson and drummer, Scott Rockenfield provide the unique Queensryche sound. The album was produced by Peter Collins and showed that Queensryche although wrongly lumped in with hair metal bands of that era, was something original and had something to say. . As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 35 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. On the 64th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, rock journalist, author and fellow Pantheon podcaster, Martin Popoff review the 1980 classic album by Rush, "Permanent Waves" As we have stated before, Rush is known for its incredible musicianship with Geddy Lee on vocals and bass, Alex Lifeson on guitar and perhaps the greatest rock drummer of all time, Neil Peart. Permanent Waves finds Rush attempting to become mainstream and commercial. The album was once again produced by the band and Terry Brown. The album cover is another classic Rush cover done by Hugh Syme. The album features more accessible songs and some classic Rush progressive songs as well. The band also experimented with sounds and even some reggae. The album went to #4 US Billboard album charts and went on to become certified platinum. Songs like The Spirit Of Radio and Freewill became concert staples. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew.  This was Tom's pick. On the 36th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review one the most influential album of the 1990's, the self-titled debut album by Rage Against The Machine.  Led by frontman Zack de la Rocha, guitar legend Tom Morello, bassist extraordinaire, Tim Commerford and hard hitting drummer, Brad Wilk, Rage Against The Machine, combined Metal, Rap, funk and punk with intense political lyrics.  Their debut album featured ten hard hitting angst filled songs that spoke to a lot of the issues plaguing society. Racism, police brutality, imperialism and more were met with ferocious intensity of del la Rocha's delivery and the heaviness of the band's pulsating music created an excitement that took the 1990's by storm.  The debut album went on to go triple platinum and set the band up as a must see band live. Their live performances, including Woodstock 99! have become legendary. Their lyrics, Tom Morello's guitar sound and more made Rage Against The Machine one of the best bands of the 1990's.  As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 34 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew.  This was Tom's pick and continues our trend of bands that make you think, like R.E.M. and Rush before this. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1983 pivotal album, "Lick It Up" This was KISS' 11th studio album and the 23rd KISS studio album reviewed by SIOL. Lick It Up was the first studio album from KISS without the makeup. Before the release, the band was on MTV and unmasked with MTV VJ the late great J.J. Jackson and premiered the video for Lick It Up. This was the first (and last) credited album with Vinnie Vincent as a member. First not to have Ace Frehley credited as a member. First KISS album without any outside songwriters credited on an album. The album was produced by Michael James Jackson, who had just produced the previous album, Creatures Of The Night and the four original tracks on the compilation Killers. This was a critical point in KISStory. The band taking off the makeup was a big gamble. However, Paul kept thinking the audience was listening to KISS with their eyes and they needed to make this change. Now without the makeup, KISS was competing with their contemporaries on a even playing field. How did they do? Well, the album brought them back to not just gold status, but platinum. The addition of Vinnie Vincent was a difference maker. His guitar playing was great, but the energy he brought with his songwriting was just so evident. He co-wrote 8 of the 10 songs on the album, including the legendary title track, Lick It Up. The guys discuss the album cover, the videos and make a few bold statements about the album and the band with Vinnie Vincent. On the 42nd Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1994 album from Stone Temple Pilots, "Purple." Purple was STP's 2nd album after their smash debut album "Core." Shaking off the critics and the Pearl Jam clone label, Stone Temple Pilots took their sound from Core and added a whole other dynamic to their sound. Led by charismatic lead singer and lyricist, Scott Weiland, STP boasts the amazing musicianship of brother Dean DeLeo on guitar and Robert DeLeo on bass, with dynamic drummer, Eric Kretz on drums. The album is produced by 90's grunge producer extraordinaire, Brendan O'Brien. The album contains some of the greatest songs of the era, including Vasoline, Interstate Love Song and Big Empty. The album is considered a classic grunge/alternaive album and one of the greatest in the 1990's. The album sold over 6 million copies. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1974 KISS album, "Hotter Than Hell.” This was KISS' 2nd studio album and the 19th KISS studio album reviewed by SIOL. Produced by the same two producers of the debut album a few months earlier, Kenny Kerner & Richie Wise, Hotter Than Hell was the first album that KISS did not have all the songs ready to go. Some of the songs were left overs from the previous album and also Wicked Lester, but some were created for this specific album. The album features a still hungry bad with contributions from all members. Of the ten songs, only three were sung by Paul Stanley. Ace Frehley had three writing credits, Peter Criss sang two songs and Gene Simmons sang 5 songs! The album was darker and heavier than the debut album and is noted for its tough sounding production. Many of the songs became KISS concert staples, such as Parasite, Let Me Go, Rock 'N' Roll, Hotter Than Hell and more. A couple of KISS' best deep cuts are also on the album. The album cover by John Van Hamersveld features a Japanese theme and photos from the legendary photo shoot by Norman Seeff. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1997 grunge influenced KISS album, "Carnival Of Souls: The Final Sessions" This was KISS' 17th studio album and the 22nd KISS studio album reviewed by SIOL. Carnival Of Souls is a very polarizing KISS album. The album was recorded with the Revenge era KISS lineup right before the KISS Reunion. However, it was not released immediately. Bootleg copies of the album were wildly circulated and the band then decided to release the album on October 28, 1997. The band did not promote the album, nor tour on the album. It also was deemed to be KISS trying to be grunge. The album was produced by Alice In Chains producer, Toby Wright. The songs were dark and heavy with a lot of grunge like qualities. This may have suited the Revenge era KISS, especially Gene Simmons, but not Paul Stanley. This ended up becoming the last non-makeup KISS album and the last album with Bruce Kulick as well. This is the only album to feature Bruce Kulick on lead vocals on a KISS song, the last track on the album, "I Walk Alone." On the 40th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1981 rock album "Don't Say No" by solo artist, Billy Squier. The album went all the way up to #5 on Billboard's album charts. It produced 3 Top 45 hits and the album went triple platinum and remained on the charts for two years. It was the early days of MTV and Don't Say No was made for it. Squier's song were all over MTV back then. This was Billy Squier's 2nd studio album. His band was highlighted by the hard hitting drummer, Bobby Chouinard, lead guitarist Cary Sharaf, Alan St. Jon on keyboards and Mark Clarke on bass. Billy provided the amazing vocals and rhythm guitar. The album was produced by Reinhold Mack & Billy Squier. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. On the 50th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest Murph review the 1971 legendary album from the classic rock band The Who "Who's Next." The Who was already one the greatest rock bands of all time in 1971 when they began working on a new project from guitarist Pete Townshend, called "Lifehouse." The band scrapped the plan (with the help from their producer Glyn Johns) and decided to use their best songs for a new rock album. The result was their greatest album and one for the greatest rock albums of all time. The band was in their prime, led by main songwriter, guitarist and music genius Pete Townshend. Roger Daltrey was the prototype lead singer of the time, a good looking, charismatic frontman with incredible vocals. Bassist John Entwistle is considered by many as the greatest bass player of all time. Rounding out the lineup is one of rock music's most iconic character, the insane Keith Moon, who was just as good a drummer as he was a madman. The album was produced by the talented Glyn Johns and The Who. Who's Next boasts some of classic rock's greatest songs, including, Baba O'Riley, Bargain, Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again. These songs and more are staples on classic rock stations. The album has gone triple platinum in the United States and is constantly on the greatest albums lists. This week Tom & Zeus review the recently released solo album from former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, "10,000 Volts." Ace Frehley's new album has been hyped and discussed more than any other rock album in memory. Ace has made the rounds (the best being right here on SIOL), been everywhere on social media and has made claims that 10,000 Volts is his best work since his 1978 solo album. With the help of Trixter's Steve Brown and SIOL's very own Hall Of Famer, Joey Cassata, 10,000 Volts has taken the KISS Army & the Ace Cult by storm. This is the 6th album by KISS members outside of KISS that SIOL has reviewed. As usual they rank the songs and then rank the album and covers against the five previous KISS member albums outside of KISS. So did 10,000 Volts live up to the hype? Is this as good as the last three KISS albums? Ace's best work since 1978? A fun drinking game will be take a shot for every Ace impression on this episode. On the 48th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1981 classic album from Van Halen, "Fair Warning." Fair Warning was Van Halen's 4th studio album. The album continued to keep Van Halen as THE hard rock band of the era. The album went up to number 5 on the US Billboard album charts and has gone double platinum. Van Halen is led by perhaps the greatest guitar player of all time, Eddie (Edward) Van Halen. Not to be out done is the preeminent frontman of the 1980's, David Lee Roth. A rhythm section second to none, with Alex Van Halen and his signature drumming and the great Michael Anthony on bass and his acclaimed backing vocals. The album was produced by the legendary Van Halen producer, Ted Templeman. Fair Warning see Van Halen going a little darker than normal, from the album cover, to the opening track, like "Mean Street." The album features two of Van Halen's classic songs like "Unchained" and "So This Is Love?" and many beloved Van Halen deep cuts. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 46 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. On 78th Episode of Dorm Damage With Tom & Zeus, the guys remember the late great John Amos who passed away on August 21, 2024. John Amos was a legendary actor and a favorite of Tom & Zeus. His portrayal of James Evans, Sr. on the 1970's hit Good Times made him one of the greatest, if not the greatest TV dad in history. He brought a realism and a positive father figure to an audience who had seldom seen such positive role models. He had a long career with many memorable roles including Cleo McDowell on Coming To America, Admiral Percy Fitzwallace on the West Wing and Kunta Kinte on Roots. The guys discuss John Amos career and what he meant to them. So rest in peace the great John Amos with the Golden Arcs in that McDowell's in the sky! On the 62nd Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, singer, guitarist and bassist from the Ace Frehley Band, Gene Simmons Band and also Rock City Machine Co, Ryan Spencer Cook, review the 1968 legendary album from Elvis Presley, "NBC TV Special" or better known as the "1968 Comeback Special." By 1968 Elvis had not performed live since 1960. Although, his movie career had been a tremendous success, even making him the highest paid actor in Hollywood, Elvis was not satisfied creatively. His music had been basically soundtracks to his movies and Elvis was frustrated. Since Elvis rocket stardom was born out of his legendary television performance, Elvis and along with young television producer Steve Binder, created a TV Special that would become affectionately known as the 1968 Comeback Special. Ignoring his manager Colonel Tom Parker's insistence that the TV Special be a Christmas theme event, Elvis & Steve Binder created a TV Special that would end up being the highest rated tv show of the year gaining 42% of the television audience. This special brought the KING back! The television special including various types of performances. Elvis performed some of his greatest hits, sometimes alone, sometimes with his original band in an intimate round setting, sometimes in sketches and even with dancers and gospel singers. The songs were varied and styles as well, matching Elvis' versatile appeal. The audience was young and attractive and Elvis wore various outfits, including the leather outfit which has become legendary and synonymous with this performance. Elvis never looked as good or sounded as good as well. The album went to number 8 on US Billboard charts and eventually platinum. There are numerous variations of this album and special releases that include a lot of the songs not featured in the television special. But all versions, include his incredible medley of Trouble / Guitar Man and the medley of his biggest hits like Love Me Tender, Hound Dog, Heartbreak Hotel, All Shook up and more. The album does include his single, If I Can Dream, which may be Elvis' greatest performance of all time. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This was obviously Zeus' pick. This week Tom & Zeus review an TV appearance by Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley on FOX News Prime Time show, Hannity & Colmes in 2002. The guys found an old YouTube clip of when Gene & Paul went on Fox News show, Hannity & Colmes. Gene and Paul went on Hannity & Colmes to promote their new book, "KISS The Early Years" However, the hosts, especially Sean Hannity, had other things on his mind. The quick TV appearance took a turn into a whole different conversation. The interview was during an interesting time. It was after 9/11 and before the Iraq war and patriotism was definitely in the air. The guys breakdown the appearance in SIOL fashion. The guys then rank this KISS TV appearance against the previous KISS TV appearances they have reviewed so far. On the 56th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, author James Campion, review the 1977 legendary album by Rod Stewart, "Foot Loose & Fancy Free." "Foot Loose & Fancy Free" was Rod Stewart's eighth studio album. It continued Rod's 70's solo artist success. Rod's legendary vocals were in prime condition and he had tremendous band behind him. He had three guitarists, Gary Grainger, Jim Cregan and Billy Peek. His bassist was renowned session player Phil Chen. The keyboard player was Jon Barlow Jarvis and on the drums was the legendary Carmine Appice. This band could match up with any other band in the 1970's. The album featured three huge hits that have been in rotation on rock radio since the album was released, including "Hot Legs," "You're In My Heart (The Final Acclaim)" and "I Was Only Joking." Those three songs even had videos which were starting to become fashionable. The album also includes typical Rod Stewart ballads, some funk, some psychedelic rock, prog rock and more. The album made it to Number 2 on the US Billboard charts and has now gone 3X platinum. The album was produced by legendary Tom Dowd and was considered the last of his rocking 70's albums. This week Tom & Zeus review the 2009 KISS album, "Sonic Boom." This was KISS' 19th studio album and the 20th KISS studio album reviewed by SIOL. Sonic Boom was the first studio album by KISS in 11 years. It was the first to feature the current KISS lineup of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer & Tommy Thayer. The album was produced by Paul Stanley and Greg Collins. The band wanted to show that they can "still knock out anybody who's out there." The album had no outside writes and both Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer had their first lead vocals on a KISS song on Sonic Boom. They played some on these songs on tour for the album and "Say Yeah" is still played today on the End Of The Road Tour. The album cover was from Michael Doret, who previously created the cover to KISS' "Rock And Roll Over." The album came with a bonus CD called KISS Klassics, which was a re-recording of some of KISS' greatest hit by the current KISS lineup. A third disc contained a six-song live DVD recorded in Bueno Aires, Argentina on April 5, 2009. As usual the guys breakdown and analyze the tracks and rank the songs SIOL style. As always, they then compare the album and album cover and rank it against the previous studio albums reviewed. This is KISS Draft XI and the guys enlisted none other than Joey Cassata to help with the draft. The KISS draft is similar to fantasy football drafts, where each person drafts 10 songs each from the 1978 KISS solo albums. The guys discuss, analyze and breakdown the unique KISS 1978 solo albums, their favorites, the songs and the whole concept. They then draft 10 songs each, with the only caveat being you MUST draft 2 songs per album. Insult fly and opinions are given, right and wrong. This week Tom & Zeus review the 2005 KISS DVD, "Rock The Nation Live!" KISS' "Rock The Nation Live" DVD came out in 2005 and was a live concert video of two KISS concerts, one in Washington D.C. & the other in Virginia Beach performed on July 24 and July 25, respectively from the Rock The Nation tour. The DVD featured 20 songs and some bonus features and behind the scenes segments and something called KISS Powervision, which allowed you as the viewer to select a different camera angles, each focusing on a different member. The DVD was successful, like most KISS videos and went double platinum. KISS was in their Revenge lineup era and paid a visit to Arsenio to promote KISS Alive III. The band performed two songs from KISS Alive III, Detroit Rock City & Deuce. The Tomorrow Show With Tom Snyder was a late night tv talk show on NBC hosted by the likeable host Tom Snyder. By the time KISS appeared on the show, the band was already falling apart. However, this night became a favorite of the KISS Army due to an obviously drunk Ace Frehley, who took over the interview much to the dismay of usual ringleaders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. This week Tom & Zeus break down the KISS Destroyer 45th Anniversary Super Deluxe Box Set, Disc 4, "Live In Paris" The KISS album Destroyer was released in 1976 and is considered to be one of KISS' most legendary albums. For it's 45th anniversary, Destroyer became the first KISS album to be given the Super Deluxe Box Set treatment.  Disc 4 of the Box set is a live album from the Destroyer tour on May 22, 1976 at the L'Olympia in Paris France. This is SIOL's 9th live album review. The guy's breakdown the album, the tracks and of course Paul Stanley's stage banter as well. On the 4th Episode of Shout It Out Loudcast's sidecast, The Zeppelin Chronicles, our hosts, Tom & Zeus, along with SIOL sidekick Murph and Jay Scott from The Hook Rocks podcast, review the classic 1971 album, "Led Zeppelin IV."  Led Zeppelin IV sometimes called, untitled, Zoso, runes and even 4 symbols is considered to be not only one of Led Zeppelin's greatest achievements, but also music in general. Filled with immortal songs like, Black Dog, Rock And Roll and perhaps the greatest rock song of all time, Stairway To Heaven, Led Zeppelin IV catapulted Led Zeppelin into a superstardom like very few have ever achieved. Following Led Zeppelin III lukewarm reception, the band went to work on the next album in October of 1970. The album still featured Led Zeppelin signature sound, blues, heavy metal, rock and roll, blues and folk. However, the songs had more of a punch and more accessible to the public. Led Zeppelin IV went to Number 2 in the USA and went 24 times platinum in the United States. The album has made almost every possible greatest albums list ever created and so have many of the songs, notably Stairway To Heaven. The Zeppelin Chronicles breaks down Led Zeppelin IV SIOL style. On the 44th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the rock album from the Foo Fighters, "Wasting Light" Wasting Light was the Foo Fighters' 7th studio album. The album was a commercial and critical hit, winning 4 Grammys, including best rock album. The album went platinum and also became the Foo Fighters first album to go #1 on Billboards 200. Led by the biggest rock star in the past 30 years, Dave Grohl on guitar and vocals, the dual guitar players, Pat Smear & Chris Shiflett, bassist Nate Mendel and the lovable late bad ass drummer Taylor Hawkins. The lyrics were credited to the whole band, although Grohl was the main lyricist. The album had 6 singles and basically a music video for every song. The album reconnect the legendary producer Butch Vig of Nirvana's Nevermind fame with Dave Grohl. The band wanted a rawer sound and Dave convinced Vig and the band to record the album in his garage with analog equipment. Grohl wanted this album to define the Foo Fighters and to many he succeeded. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 42 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1975 KISS Dressed To Kill Tour. This is SIOL's 8th KISS tour reviewed. This was KISS' 4th tour and followed the Hotter Than Hell tour. It began as the Dressed To Kill album was released on March 19, 1975. The tour in support of KISS' third album featured new KISS classics, like C'mon And Love Me, She and of course, Rock And Roll All Nite. The band had still not broken through commercially, but was starting to take off live with its raw energy. KISS began as openers and eventually moved to headliners with opening acts like Rush. The stage was still in its infancy compared to what was to come in a few years. The costumes began similar to Hotter Than Hell and then morphed into what we see on the Alive tour and album cover. The setlist consisted of what would eventually become the ultimate classic live album, KISS Alive! As usual, the guys breakdown the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour. They then rank the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour against the previous 7 tours reviewed so far. So take a stroll down back to a time when KISS was hungry to take over and then stay for the rant at the end of the episode... On the 35th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the eighth album by the legendary band, Rush, "Moving Pictures." This is the biggest selling album from Rush and has sold over 5 million copies in the United States alone.  Rush is known for its incredible musicianship with Geddy Lee on vocals and bass, Alex Lifeson on guitar and perhaps the greatest rock drummer of all time, Neil Peart. Moving Pictures continued Rush's progressive sound but in a more commercial and radio friendly manner with songs like "Tom Sawyer," "Red Barchetta," "Limelight" and more.  Moving Pictures has become a staple on classic rock stations and many of the songs were part of Rush's live shows. The album was produced by Rush and their long time collaborator, Terry Brown. The album cover has become iconic over the years as well.  As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. On the 59th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, Steve Wright from the Podder Than Hell Podcast, review the 1985 album from Bon Jovi, "7800 Fahrenheit." 7800 Fahrenheit is Bon Jovi's second studio album. The young band continued the same basic formula as their debut album. The band was led by charismatic frontman Jon Bon Jovi who was the primary songwriter. Richie Sambora the guitarist also helped write songs with Jon and you could see the beginnings of this legendary duo. David Bryan on keyboards also helped with a few songs. Alec John Such and Tico Torres rounded out the rhythm section. The album was produced by Lance Quinn. The album continued where their debut left off, with some rockers, mid-tempo songs and a ballad. Jon continued his hard working ways to craft an album in between consecutive non stop tours. 7800 Fahrenheit is a polarizing album often panned by Jon, but loved by the fans, especially songs like, In And Out Of Love & Tokyo Road. The album did go platinum and features 3 MTV Videos. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. On the 51st Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest Zach Throne from Corey Taylor's band and Bruce Kulick's band, review the 1981 legendary album from Ozzy Osbourne "Diary Of A Madman" Ozzy was one year removed from his incredible debut, Blizzard Of Ozz when he went back into the studio for his second solo studio album, Diary Of A Madman. Returning with Ozzy was the young guitar God, Randy Rhoads, Bob Daisley on bass and Lee Kerslake on drums. This lineup will only have two albums under their belt, but perhaps the two greatest hard rock albums back to back. Diary Of A Madman may have topped his debut album. Randy Rhoads groundbreaking guitar playing went to an even higher level. Bob Daisley's bass playing and incredible lyrics added to the growing mystique and image of Ozzy Osbourne. Lee Kerslake's drumming excellence is on full display on the beginning of the opening track, "Over The Mountain." Ozzy's vocals and delivery is at its peak throughout this album. His underrated and underappreciated singing was some of his best work ever. The album was one again produced by Max Norman, but along with Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley. The album went 3X platinum in the United States and made it to #16 on the US Billboard 200. It produced some of classic rock's greatest hits including "Flying High Again." The album is sadly the last album by this incredible unit and obviously Randy Rhoads last album ever. He passed away in a terrible plane crash during the Diary Of A Madman tour. A tragedy that robbed the world of one of the greatest guitar hero and by ALL accounts a beautiful human being. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. On the 55th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, comedian and podcaster Don Jamieson, review the 1991 legendary album by Metallica, the self-titled album known as the "Black Album." The "Black Album" was Metallica's fifth studio album. It propelled Metallica from a small, but dedicated fan base to superstardom. Led by frontman, main lyricist and rhythm guitarist James Hetfied, polarizing drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist extraordinaire Kirk Hammet and bassist Jason Newsted. The album features five singles including a couple ballads, which were unheard of previously and the now classic, Enter Sandman. Although they did have a video for the previous album's single, "One", Metallica really utilized MTV and the music video format to propel the "Black Album." The album made it to Number 1 on the US Billboard charts and has now gone 16X platinum, making it not only Metallica's biggest selling album, but one of the biggest selling album in history. The album was produced by Bob Rock and although it may have been a tumultuous relationship, which was documented, the result cannot be denied. This week Tom & Zeus breakdown KISS' 1980 appearance on the children's show "Kids Are People Too." Right as KISS was preparing their tour of the Unmasked album, the band wanted to introduce their new drummer, the Fox, Eric Carr to the world. KISS decided to go on the children's program, Kids Are People Too. The appearance did little to stop the fast decline of their popularity. However, the episode is a unique look at a band not sure where they are going or how to get there. The guys breakdown the appearance in SIOL fashion and discuss this awkward television appearance.
