Five Choices And One Audacious Invitation That Can Change Your Life
00:18:58
You have greatness inside of you. This gold is your birthright. It's your personal power and it ignites your ability to grow, glow, rise, and thrive. When you're tuned into it, you have everything you need to change your life. My mission is to empower you so you can.
In this (very 1st) episode, I will connect you with the five choices I made that helped me find my way home to myself, tune into my gold, and change my life. I will wind the clock way back to 2018, get super vulnerable and give you a glimpse into my life when I struggled, juggled, and survived as a woman in the corporate hustle culture. I will tell you about the choices I made that almost cost me my health, my sanity and my marriage. And, I'll tell you about one fateful event that prompted me to take a long, hard look at myself and every ridiculously toxic choice I was making.
The five choices I made were out of desperation. I'll tell you how they helped me navigate that terrifying time, and find the courage I needed to step away from the life I knew, to step into the unknown, and start thriving. I want you to know that you have the power to do it too.
I wrap up this (very 1st) episode with one audacious invitation that might just change your life. I frame up my invitation by telling you the one question that prompted me to say yes to myself, take a leap, rock on, and never look back.
In this episode and across all the rest, I am here to leave you better. As a Master Certified Life Coach for women, I am here to help you feel supported, seen and understood by talking about all of the hard shit we navigate as women that we survive, but don't talk about, nearly enough. I am here to inspire you to stop struggling and settling by sharing real stories from courageous women who have stepped away from lives they knew to create lives they love.
I am here to educate you by teaching you about the mind-body science you were never taught in school. The science that can help you understand and love yourself. The science that can help you reset from toxicity, tune into your gold, and live powerfully in body, mind and soul. I am here to empower you to be well, and rock your life because you, Amazing One, were born to thrive!
(And you should know that I can see your gold, even if you can't, yet.)

How many times a day do you hear, I'm fine? How often do you say those same words when someone asks, "How are you?" When was the last time you really thought about how you're actually feeling and why?
Your body and mind are co-conspirators of your experience. The interplay between them is constantly happening, even when it goes unnoticed. And when you're unaware of how you feel and why you feel that big range of emotions you feel, you miss one of your greatest opportunities to choose how you experience your life.
In this episode, I'll break down the very complex topic of the interplay between the body and mind so it is understandable, relatable, and actionable.

Why you feel the way you feel in certain environments, situations, and relationships.

A micro mindfulness practice that has the power to change your awareness and your life.

The Secrets That Are Still With Us with Elaine Morgan
00:45:28
The way we grow up shapes our hearts and minds. As little girls, we learn fundamental human skills from our family and friends that shape us: how to love, be kind, share, communicate, and trust our intuition. We learn what to believe and we model what we learn.
We're super porous during these peak learning years. Everything we experience has an affect on our minds and bodies, for better or worse. And, as adults, we get to choose what we do with whatever it is that we learn.
In this episode, you'll hear from the amazing and soulful Elaine Morgan who courageously shares her story of thriving on the other side of childhood, where she was raised as a Jehovah's Witness.
Elaine vulnerably shares what it was like to grow up in a world of repression, confusion, fear, and emotional poverty in a family awaiting armageddon.
She reflects on the secrets she held and the mindset of never being good enough. Elaine also talks about the curiosity and determination that have been a fundamental part of who she's always been. She connects us with the role these qualities have played in helping her navigate her life to now.
Elaine shares early lessons of persistent rejection. She talks about how they've shown up across her life and ironically, how they fueled her successful sales career, across multiple software companies, including LinkedIn.
And, you will hear how Elaine overrode her early neural conditioning to become a thriving woman and loving Momma. And, as she reflects on her life long journey of mindfulness and healing, she sums it all up with one of Carrie Bradshaw's most kick ass quotes.

How do you see the world? How would you like to see the world? Let's get real. It's easy to get stuck in negative thinking loops. If you've found yourself waiting for the other shoe to drop or focusing on the one negative thing that happened to you today I see you. Thinking this way does not make you a negative Nelly. You will learn:
About the power you have to control what you think and feel.
What science tells us about negative bias.
How your brain is hard wired.
Stats that will give you clarity around your thought patterns.
Three steps to override negative thinking and live a happier and healthier life.
And, this episode won't be dry because I'll connect you with all of this brain-body science by telling you a personal story, to help you know you are seen, understood, and never alone.

Rebecca Fernandez on Authenticity, Growth, and Claiming Herself
00:30:30
Where do you feel pressured to shape shift into another version of yourself to be accepted, please, or fit in? How often do you show up in your life as your authentic self?
This week, Rebecca Fernandez joins us to talk about authenticity and her personal journey that's spanned over years. (Oh, and by the way, authenticity is a natural extension of mindful living and self love.)
Rebecca courageously gives us a view into the painful and lonely years she self sacrificed and "contorted" in order to be loved, valued, and accepted.
She reflects on growing up in a fundamentalist Christian family, going to religious school and how both of these taught her the "rules and price of being different."
We talk about negative self talk, perspective, anticipation, and how they affect the way we experience life.
We explore the societal pressure so many women feel to shape shift and the internal dissonance that swells within us when we abandon who we truly are.
Rebecca shares how being someone besides herself "hijacked a part of (her) that was very positive" and, she brings us into the present day where in her 40's, she's claiming every bit of her authentic self- including her wild ass, fabulous curls.
You'll walk away with three micro-coaching mindfulness tips that will empower you to discover your authentic self and start fully claiming the incredible human that you are.

Getting Out of Your Own Damn Way: How to Recognize What's Really Holding You Back
00:20:48
You can blame your partner, your parents, and your boss. You can blame your circumstances. You can come up with an exhaustive list of reasons and excuses to live small and avoid growth.
And, while those reasons and excuses may be valid, here's the thing. What's standing between you and the goals and possibilities you want to realize in your life is a blocker with an underlying force that has to be understood to be overcome. This is where the messy as hell practice of mindfulness becomes a game changer.
This week, we’re talking about blockers: how to recognize when you're standing in your own damn way and how to (mindfully) break free and realize the best stuff in your life.
I’m going to share a personal story with you of my reasons and excuses I used to justify avoiding something that would help me realize my passion, mission, and goals. I later recognized my fear of rejection and not being good enough were the underlying forces holding me back.
I’m going to take you through the three most common blockers I've observed in the high achieving women I know, love, and coach. The ones they recognize and overcome when they are facing the scary choices that will ultimately move them forward.
You’ll learn how to recognize and get clarity on the underlying force that’s causing you to get in your own damn way and what to do with it once it's front and center in your awareness.
And you'll learn three of the mindfulness practices I offer the women I coach that will help you start to get out of your own damn way and take positive steps toward your goals- if it’s important for you.

We talk about: The frenetic pace of life that keeps us in cardboard cut-out mode. The loss of control and uncertainty many of us are feeling. Slowing down, grounding, and expanding our holistic potential. Reframing mindset and experiencing the power of nourishment sex and pleasure offer. Working through shame and claiming our womanhood through self love. Transforming our personal relationship with sex, pleasure, and intimacy. Using pleasure to reconnect with the world and our most human selves.
You’ll learn: The connection between your mind, body, emotion and ‘sex center’. How to tap into desire and sexuality as a source of empowerment, wisdom, and energy. How to trust your body's messages about pleasure, sex and intimacy. Known and unknown physical, mental, and emotional benefits of sex.
And... You'll leave with three micro-coaching tips that will help you up your daily pleasure doses, experience the creative state of flow, and how sexual nourishment supports your health, happiness, and overall quality of life.

An Ambassador Of Hope: With TEDx Speaker Irma Goosen
00:48:40
Have you ever faced something so challenging you thought it just might break you? If so, know this. You are not alone. This week, we’re talking with a woman who faced that level of challenge, rose, rooted in hope, and dedicated her life to empowering others.
Meet Irma Goosen, an immigrant success advocate, TEDx speaker, engineer, author, Mom, and a champion for immigration reform. She is a fiercely kind and accomplished woman who crushed fear and created her best life after legally immigrating- not once, but twice.
Irma draws from her personal experience to empower other people taking the same journey. Her goals are to create a more inclusive, accepting, and compassionate world where every person can thrive, no matter where they are born.
Irma sheds new light on legal immigration as she talks about the experience of children who immigrate with their families. She shares the 'why' for her work with women who have immigrated and the ways support, empowerment, and love change their lives and our world.
Most importantly, Irma shares the beautiful possibilities that are here for us to realize by embracing our new 'super culture' as we live alongside people from all over the world.
You will learn: Irma's powerful story of fearfully living in South Africa with a gun by her side surviving day by day. Her hope of being accepted as she courageously boarded an airplane bound for the U.S. with two suitcases and her baby girl. How shifting her mindset was essential in moving from fear to courage and the hope that powers her life. Irma's three micro-coaching tips to live your life with more courage and hope.
As we get ready to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, I am beyond grateful that this amazing woman joined She Grabs The Mic to share her inspiring story.

Getting Out Of The Swirl And On With Your Life
00:22:53
Monkey mind? Stressed to the max? Analysis paralysis? I see you! Indecision? Worry? Sleepless nights? You're not alone. You're caught in something that I call 'the swirl."
This week, my goal is to help you get out of the swirl so you step into the agency you have to live your life with more clarity, peace, and confidence. Getting out if essential because, as my good friend Robin says, "You can't create when you're in the swirl."
In this episode, I break down four of the personality categories that tend to be the 'swirliest' based on my experience with the women I love, know, and coach.
Chances are pretty darn good that you'll see yourself in one of more of these categories. And, when you do, know this. That's a big step forward!
By the end of the episode, you will:
1. Have a clearer understanding of what's keeping you in 'the swirl.'
2. Learn (3) micro-coaching steps you can start practicing in your own life, right now, if getting out of the swirl and on with your life is important for you.
3. Have a foundation that will empower you to step into the agency you have to improve your mental, physical, and emotional health- and your overall quality of life.

Wisdom From My Mother On Courage and Reinventing Your Career After 45
00:24:56
If you're thinking about reinventing your career or your life, this episode will fire your soul and warm your heart. This week, my Mom, "Peaches" Pat Gray, is sharing her wisdom around both, from her lived experience.
Allow me to set the stage. My Mom, "Peaches", is a stone cold sassy badass. She was the quintessential Enjoli woman of the 70's, with Farrah Fawcett looks, bringing home the bacon and fryin' it up in the pan. She ran marathons, raised three little girls on her own, and gained the respect of everyone she encountered when she launched her ambitious career in medicine.
Peaches talks with us about her entrepreneurial spirit that helped her earn cash, survive tough times, and reinvent her life after age 45.
She talks with us about breaking barriers as a woman and earning a position as a well respected practitioner in an elite all male urology practice. She reflects on the importance of understanding her worth and advocating with confidence for equal pay and equal opportunity.
Peaches shares even more inspiration as she talks about her pivot point (her She Grabs The Mic moment) that took place in her late 40’s. It was the year she courageously chose to leave the safety and comfort of her well paying career at Duke to take a leap and start from scratch in a new town with little more than fierce talent, vision and determination.
My Mom candidly talks about the challenges so many women over 45 face: the expense of kids in college, no guarantee that what you build will work out, and a big dream she couldn't shake if she tried.
She shares what she's most proud of as she rewinds back to the years of her bold choice to reinvent herself and her career.
She connects us with the role courage, determination, self love, strength, and planning played in her story.
Finally, my Mom reflects on the life changing power of finding joy in your work.
By the end of this episode, you'll walk away with wisdom from my Mom that will remind you of this one very important truth. If you can see it, you can make it real.
Her golden thread throughout our conversation is loving what you do leads to an affirming and fulfilling life.
You deserve to live your best life. We all do babe. 🔥
