Especially if you’re met with big success, it can be easy to want to rest in that. A coach is a great tool to help push you forward and make sure your business is ever-evolving. The trick really is as simple and as hard as asking yourself “what do I need to do to turn this around?” Bad stuff is always going to happen- you need to anticipate that things aren’t always going to go smoothly. But this doesn’t give you an excuse to dwell on the negative, or exist in a place of pessimism.

Shane first connected with Harmon Brothers during the 5 years he spent working for Orabrush as a video production manager and marketing expert. Before officially joining the HB team, he was the creative lead and account manager at the Molio Agency for 2 years.

In 2016, Shane was adopted by Harmon Brothers as a Producer and Creative Director. Since then he’s led notable projects like the Chatbooks “Camper” ad, Camp Chef’s “Grill God”, Murphy Ladder’s “Ladder Luchador”, Kodiak Cakes’ “LumberJill Family”, and Next Vacay’s “Traveling Tree.”

We were lucky enough to get to chat with financial wizard Louis Llanes, author of Financial Freedom Blueprint, to brainstorm ways to prevent losses no matter the political and social climate. We take a deeper dive into: 

  • Smart financial moves for entrepreneurs and “regular” folks 
  • Common mistakes and pitfalls people make with money/investments

The main crux of our discussion is to make sure you’re saving. That’s the foundation everything else is built on. But having money to save tends to make that easier; go figure. That’s why we also share tips and tricks to make sure your business provides for you in the long haul, and that you are investing in ways that make sense for today, and tomorrow. 

This means your money matters need to be consistent, yes, but within a framework of flexibility. You can plan all you want but unfortunately, you can’t predict the future. But you can put consistent practices into place that allow you to weather the storms and become more adept at navigating uncertainties.

Chris Doelle (pronounced DAY-lee) is a teacher, father, coach, husband, and student. His goal in life is to share good stories and fight the good fight. He has authored books like "All I Need to Know I Learned from My Texas High School Football Coach" and "Lame Jokes Rule," showcasing his diverse interests in education, sports, humor, and storytelling. Chris is known for his passion for sharing wisdom and humor through his work.

Being one of the original half-dozen podcasters, Chris has seen it all, made all the mistakes and hopefully learned from them. His first show (which began in Fall of 2004) called Lone Star Gridiron is still going strong with the associated site www.lonestargridiron.com getting millions of visits a year. This show leveraged his love of Texas high school football with his burgeoning love of podcasting. He has spent the last 20 years making himself known in the world of Texas high school football as an author, public speaker, radio personality and Texas high school football historian.

Although he has run his full-service marketing company Fresh Media Works for the past 30 years, podcasting makes up the bulk of his personal activities these days. His company also provides a la carte services from helping people and companies launch podcasts, to growing and monetizing them. This "OG Podcaster" is all in when it comes to the world of podcasting.

One of his side ventures was launching a successful board game via Kickstarter back in 2020. The game Friday Night Legends allows players to coach high school football teams from any year based on their real statistics. The game has done very well and the company, Board Game Legends, has since released several others:

  • Saturday Legends - college football 

  • Basketball Legends - high school, college and professional basketball all in one game!

  • Football Legends - the newest release coming out this summer which combines all levels of football into one game, high school, college and pro. This will replace the FNL and SL brands

Dr. Chicotsky’s career began in United States Congressional lobbying for military aid appropriations for allies abroad at a “top 3” firm, which provided professional inroads in the Middle East enabling his subsequent appointment in the private sector.

Dr. Chicotsky’s entry into private equity was in Tel Aviv, Israel through an externship with New York University as a graduate student, which involved capital fundraising for a portfolio of technology startups from investor communities in Europe and Asia.

This deal-flow led Dr. Chicotsky into Chief Marketing Officer roles in early-stage, and later, venture-backed endeavors, which began a decade of company building, capital fundraising, and more recently, angel investing and marketing advisorships. Portfolio work has extended to real estate development and syndication in the Fort Worth area.

Dr. Chicotsky earned his Doctorate in Communication and Information Sciences from The University of Alabama, Master’s in Management from New York University, and Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin. Outside of marketing and deal-flow, Dr. Chicotsky enjoys bookings with his swing jazz ensemble, playing in the Fort Worth wooden bat baseball league, and various startup ventures.
