I can say this episode was special because it goes to show that not everything is sunshine and rainbows. Stuff happens in life where you have to take a pause and take care of the home front, which Josh (Skipper) has answered that call and is killing it. Sickness has plagued Nick (Gilligan) in his shop, and he has been out for four days, but nothing compares to how nasty his laser lens and air cone was, though he is pushing through to make sawdust. Nap (The Professor) has finally found the light at the end of the tunnel of a bunch of bad things happening. It is so crazy to think that we are on episode 90 of the Sawdust Nation Podcast and we are only 10 away from 100 where we will be giving away all sorts of stuff. However, this episode did focus on some woes faced in the shop. Josh has had three machines break and is getting things fixed as he goes. From ghost carving to, the planer shredding material it has been a hell of a week for Josh. Nap has a lot going on in his shop, his air compressor tried to stop working and was narrowed down to possibly a faulty switch. Nick is forever busy and staying as organized as he can with his planner with the little time he has each night. Episode 96 already it is really coming down to the wire now and man we were happy to have Brent Jarvis from Clean Cut Woodworking on. Brent was awesome enough to carve some time out of his workday to chat with us about his humble beginnings before he became the "Router Sled Guy" or better yet Clean Cut Woodworking. He then dove into his awesome hobby of collecting hand planes and more on how essential they can be to the shop. We then passed it around to the boys and there has been a lot going on but more or less the same stuff. Josh had some X-carve woes..(AGAIN).. Fixed it and is pressing on.. He also finally got his laser!!!! Nick is drowning in shadow boxes but he is knocking them out of the park. Nap is having one hell of a time at his real job and it is definitely killing his shop time but hey, real work comes first. Although he is still working, the real job has been making certain jobs more of a back burner from time to time. Josh seems to be exploding in his shop and has a few undisclosed jobs and many others coming up that he seems to be excited about. He has also finally dialed in that laser and is trying to catch up to Nap with his epic skills and cutting through that THICK material. Nick is forever busy, the AVID sits because he is so busy. Last week Nap gave the crew a task of building a shop for a 1 stall car garage as if we were brand new makers all over again. They all had $500 a piece to spend and build a shop that new maker could get started with.
