05 Feb 2021Henry Holland00:42:49
In the RunPod Run Club we know how good running makes us feel, but a bonus is feeling like we look good whilst we run. And this week joining Jenni on Runpod is a man who knows a thing or two about fashion. It’s fashion designer (and nifty runner), Henry Holland. Henry and Jenni chat being overly competitive with himself, using running as a form of meditation, marathon faux pas, the spectrum of fitness throughout the various lockdowns, and of course fashion. It turns out not even designers get it right when going for that first run. A hugely enjoyable listen, and you may get a bit of inspiration to jazz up your running gear too!

05 Nov 2021Spencer Matthews00:43:15
The Marathon des Sables is known as the toughest footrace on earth. 6 days running over 250 kilometres, carrying all of your supplies on your back. It's not for the faint hearted, and this week, we're talking to a man who crossed the finish line just a month ago. It's former Made in Chelsea star, podcaster, entrepreneur, founder of CleanCo, Spencer Matthews. Spencer and Jenni talk about what it was really like running in the hottest recorded Marathon des Sables, the places you go to mentally when undertaking such a challenge, blisters, the endless sand dunes, staying in a bivouac, the celebratory tattoo idea that never came to fruition and his next challenge idea. This may not get you wanting to sign up, but it will definitely motivate you to get out there challenging yourself. Enjoy.
30 Nov 2023John McAvoy01:01:02

Today’s guest John McAvoy is a Nike Athlete and a motivational speaker who inspires young people to live a good, and honest life. However, John’s story is probably unlike anything you’ve heard before…

When John was young, he grew up in an environment of organised crime, leading to a life of armed robbery, and 10 years behind bars at a high-security prison.

His “role models” back in the day, led him to believe being behind bars was “just a way of life”. Everything was about money, the acquisition of wealth and disobeying authority. They told him that if he went to prison and started behaving, then the system had got him.

However, whilst in his cell John decided he wanted to feel like a proper human being so he decided to spend his days educating himself by reading books from the prison librarian, and started exercising one push-up at a time…

John’s new exercise regime led him to break both British and World records whilst in prison, and in turn he's found redemption through the power of sport.

He now lives in the Alps and has forged a life as an endurance athlete and speaker who is committed to using his story of rehabilitation to help and inspire others to change their lives for the better.

In his own words, John feels completely detached from who he was in the past, and that is in itself, is a very moving story.

"The important thing is not what one is born with but what use one makes of that equipment" - Adler

Hey RunPod fans, we have a new podcast we think you'd like from Myleene Klass, called They Don't Teach This In School...

Be honest - how many times have you felt so under-equipped for what life has thrown your way? In school we learned about Pythagoras, but then we went out into the adult world and we were expected to know how to budget for a household, set up a bank account or know what to do when the boiler broke.

Myleene says "There was so much I wish we were taught. So that’s how my book and this podcast was born. I’ll be speaking to some brilliant guests to share their tips on how they and their families survive life’s challenges"

Listen to the latest episodes now and subscribe for new episodes every Tuesday.

22 Nov 2022Bonus Episode: Meet the RunPod Run Club - Pete Riddleston00:21:03
On today’s episode of Meet the RunPod Run Club, we’re joined by the lovely Pete Riddleston. Like the majority of people, Pete goes running to improve his mental clarity, and to help keep the weight of those 'grey clouds' at a comfortable distance. Think about it: up until this point, you’ve survived everything life has thrown at you. Owning your mental health, and not letting it define you, is the best thing you can do. No one asks for their struggles, and our lives change all the time. That’s a fact. Taking full responsibility for your mind is something we should all do, and running is a great place to start. Keep running, and keep going - it will pass. Looking to buy a RunPod T-shirt? Go here: linktr.ee/runpod

29 Oct 2019At the Movies: 'Brittany Runs A Marathon'00:28:26
What kind of runner are you? The enthusiast; the Forrest Gump; or the reluctant jogger who feels obliged to exercise (and maybe ditch a pound or two along the way). If you're the latter you're in the right place, because that echoes the (true!) story told in 'Brittany Runs a Marathon’, a film that's won over critics and audiences alike. In this episode Jenni chats with the star, Jillian Bell, and director, Paul Downs Colaizzo. Jillian plays Brittany, a chaotic New Yorker who sets herself an improbable goal and struggles to achieve it. As runners know well, pounding the pavement can be addictive, but seems an impossible feat for the unfit and ill-prepared. The film documents Brittany’s inspiring journey from non-runner to marathoner. The film is hugely relatable, and so is this episode, as together they reveal a novel way to keep focused whilst jogging, what it’s like to be filmed when running as well as the actors guide to making your running style look truly 'believable’. This bonus episode of is well worth a listen.

23 Jul 2021Will Goodge00:44:23
It’s been said many times, everyone has their own reason to run - whether that be for fitness, mental health, weight loss, a personal challenge or for some, it is a mechanism to help cope with grief. In this episode of RunPod, Jenni is joined by Will Goodge whose first run was only a few years ago along a boardwalk in California. It was a pivotal moment in his life, one that he associates with extreme joy. Within a year, life had done a complete u-turn. His mum had lost her battle with cancer and he was looking for something to help him cope with his grief. This is where the running comes in…. Will started running on days that meant something to his mum, Christmas, her birthday and then progressively he challenged himself a little more until he was running the length of the country, raising money in her honour. It’s a truly inspiring story of someone who’s reason to run was to partly escape, yet by running, he’s found something that’s now become a huge part of his life. Enjoy.
10 Apr 2025Founder of parkrun Paul Sinton-Hewitt00:50:17

This week on RunPod, Jenni is joined by a true running rockstar – Paul Sinton-Hewitt, the legendary founder of parkrun.

What started as a simple run in London’s Bushy Park has exploded into a global movement across five continents. Paul’s vision has inspired millions to lace up their trainers, not only transforming physical health but also making a powerful impact on mental wellbeing.

In this episode, Paul shares the incredible journey of how parkrun grew from a small gathering to a worldwide phenomenon – one that’s sparked friendships, marriages, and a love of running for people of all ages and abilities. He opens up about the legacy he’s built, the community it’s created, and what it feels like to be recognised (and papped!) by fans more often than most celebrities.

Plus, he chats about his new book ‘One Small Step’ – the definitive account of the run that became a movement.

Whether you’re a parkrun regular or just love a good running story, this is one not to miss.
