Professor Mark Rowlands isn't a well known touring or recording musician. He's more of a rock star in the field of Philosophy. Mark is the chair of the philosophy department at the University of Miami and leading figure in the morality of animals who just released his latest book The Word of Dog: What Our Canine Companions Can Teach Us About Living a Good Life . Mark helps us expand upon some of the learnings we've gathered over our years of interviewing musicians about their dogs.

We are happy to welcome Erin Barth-Dwyer of the band Overheard to the show. Erin introduces us to her beautiful 75 lb mixed-breed girl Garbo who came into her life in 2018 shortly after beating Hodgkin Lymphoma. Singer-songwriter Mark Erelli joins the show this week to talk about his Lab-Weimaraner mix rescue dog Leo and how he helped Mark navigate a life-changing diagnosis of Retinitis Pigmentosa which is a degenerative eye disease that leads to blindness.

This is an encore episode featuring our conversation with 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Peter Frampton. Peter came on the show back in February of this year when he was merely a Hall of Fame nominee and gave us his first in-depth interview about his service dog Bigsby, a 3 year old black golden doodle who was trained to assist him as he navigates the effects of Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) which Peter was diagnosed with in 2015.
