She also directs her own counseling practice in Jenkintown, PA.  Dr. Langberg’s newest book is Redeeming Power: Understanding Authority and Abuse in the Church.  

Dr. Langberg is co-leader of the Global Trauma Recovery Institute housed at Biblical Theological Seminary. She is on the board of G.R.A.C.E. (Godly Response to Abuse in a Christian Environment). She serves as Co-Chair for American Bible Society’s Trauma Advisory Council. 

She is married and has two sons and four grandchildren

Kelly M. Kapic is professor of theological studies at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, where he has taught since 2001. 

He has written and edited over fifteen books, including You're Only Human, which won the Christianity Today Book of the Year Award in Theology (Popular) and the Southwestern Journal of Theology 2022 Book of the Year Award (Applied Theology/Ethics) and Embodied Hope (IVP Academic, 2017), which won the Book of the Year Award from Christianity Today in the category of Theology and Ethics and World Magazine’s Short List award for Accessible Theology Book of the year. 

An active speaker and collaborator, Kapic has also worked on research teams funded by the John Templeton Foundation and has written for various academic journals and popular magazines, including serving on the Board of editorial consultants for the Journal of Spiritual Formation and Soul Care .

Kelly and his wife Tabitha have two adult children, Jonathan and Margot.

Everett is Commonwealth Professor Emeritus since his retirement from Virginia Commonwealth University on October 1, 2017.  His research and writing focus on forgiveness and other virtues, religion, spirituality, and issues related to marriage and family. His mission is to help individuals (every heart), couples and families (every home), and even communities and countries (every homeland) forgive.

Everett was counseling couples professionally in the mid-1980s when he first became interested in the concept of forgiveness, and he began studying the topic scientifically in 1990. Since then, he has been a leader in forgiveness research. He is the author of many books, including, Coming to Peace with Psychology: What Christians Can Learn From Psychological Science.

This week Greg, Brad and Bryan sit down to chat with James Spiegel on virtues and their role in our spiritual development.


Jim Spiegel earned a B.S. in Biology at Belhaven University (1985). From there he turned his interests to Philosophy, earning two graduate degrees in the field—an M.A. at University of Southern Mississippi (1988) and a Ph.D. at Michigan State University (1993). After teaching for a year at Moorhead State University in Minnesota, he took a tenure-track position at Taylor University where he taught a range of courses in philosophy, including ethics, history of philosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of religion. From there he moved on to become head of school at Lighthouse Christian Academy in Bloomington, Indiana. Currently, he is working at Hillsdale College as a Templeton Research Fellow.

Jim has authored or edited 11 books and published over 100 articles and book chapters, mainly on issues in philosophy of religion, philosophical theology, and ethics. His work has appeared in such scholarly journals as Metaphilosophy, Philosophia, Faith and Philosophy, Science and Engineering Ethics, and International Journal for Philosophy of Religion and popular periodicals such as Christianity Today, Touchstone, TheConversation, and Books and Culture. In addition to teaching and writing, Jim speaks regularly at professional conferences, colleges, and churches and is often interviewed for podcasts and radio programs.

Jim lives in Jonesville, Michigan with his wife and fellow author, Amy, and one of their four grown kids. Jim and Amy blog together at Wisdom and Folly.
