7 Ways You’re Wasting Huge Amounts of Time on Your Farm
Are you running your farm or is your farm running you?
I ask because farmers regularly tell me they're being pulled in all different directions by everything, everyone AND their dog (literally - sometimes their dog ).
What if I told you there's a way to finally take control and freely move through your day, calmly, with plenty of time for everything - including time for you?
There are things you're doing in your day that are preventing you from feeling in-control - things that you can learn to let go of so you can build a successful, sustainable life and business.
Episode 94 shows you what you're doing to waste time.
So many of my 5X Coaching Clients are finally recognizing the seven ways their wasting precious time. Once they're aware, then they're able to stop.
This means, they take back control of their life and farm and are finding time to calmly get things done and make money.
You can do this too - take back control, feel calm and focused, and start making money.
To take back control you've got to get a few things in order, first.
Most important, episode 94 outlines 7 key things most people are doing that waste HOURS of their time each day.
Listen to episode 94 now to learn what you're doing that's wasting your one precious life so you can finally free up time to do what you want.
I know you'll probably relate to several, if not all seven.
Once you become aware of these seven things, you'll be able to eliminate them and get your time back for the things that really matter.
Things that really matter, like, precious family time and creating a successful farm business.
Warmly,

#185: The Two Things This Farmer Does To Be Profitable - And Peaceful- For the Last 6 Years
She’s an average farmer, like you and me, who decided she needed to invest in training to reach the goals she had in mind.
Here's Dana’s Full Success Story on the Profitable Mindset Podcast
She didn’t stop at just my email marketing training. She implemented all the mindset coaching I offered each week.
She continues to be more and more profitable every year since.
And in 2019, the farm income supported Dana quitting her day job and now be home full-time on the farm and with her kids.
She used the 5x Coaching Program in its entirety (coaching and classes) and grew their farm slowly and consistently without taking on a lot of debt.
But the biggest difference for Dana, like so many of my clients tell me, is how much calmer her life is now.
She’s married, has young children, a busy farm making more money than ever, and she and her family are calm and balanced.
Yes, big farm challenges still come up, like 30% of their meat chickens dying earlier this year.
But she and her husband calmly move through the upset quickly and get back to calm.
In Dana’s words:
“I LOVE how peaceful our lives are now.
In our past, we were working so hard.
Now we get off the farm - even in summer - and do so many fun things.
Our days are so much more calm and peaceful.
Yes, big upsets still happen.
And with coaching, I just face the challenge head on and maintain my cool
Even though we still own a busy farm.”
Do yourself the biggest favor. Listen to Dana’s interview now.
Next, plan on joining Dana and 250 other farmers in 5x Your Farm Sales coaching program on October 17th.
You’ll change your life, too.
The rest of the world, especially the farming world, might try to tell you that you can’t make a living farming
You absolutely can when you implement the skills I teach.
Don’t leave your success up to free knowledge here and there you pick up on the internet. You won’t get to profit. I know this.
I’ve been teaching and coaching for over a decade. Farmers who invest in personal and business coaching in 5x Your Farm Sales are building profitable farms.
Dana now lives a life where she’s free, peaceful, calm, in control AND making a living on their farm.
This is for you, too. It’s the hardest work you’ll ever do. But - it’s the most fulfilling thing you’ll do.
And you’ll pass the skills on to those around you, and you’ll take them forward in your life in all your endeavors.

#168: Why Farm Branding is Important + How to Achieve It
Either they think they don’t need a brand, and they ignore it.
Or if they do, they think branding consists of a logo, website, tagline, mission statement – or maybe all your followers on social media.
I'm as guilty as any farmer in these two categories - I fell into the first one years ago, thinking my three cow dairy was too small to need a brand.
But I’m here to tell you, you DO need a brand -- and a professionally designed logo, website, or mission statement is NOT branding!
Those things are only one piece of the pie, and given the enormous start-up costs of a farm, they are usually best to come after you've established your brand.
So if you haven't spent much time working on branding yet...
Or if you have your logo and website in place and think you're branded...
And especially if you have a website, logo, or goals established and you’re NOT making tons of money from them...
Then today's post is for you!
Click the link above to hear why farm branding is essential and how to achieve it.

4 Steps to Make Your Farm Stand Out and Delight Your Customers
One of the biggest problems farmers share with me is they struggle to build a big, loyal customer base who will keep coming back season after season and continue paying, without complaint, our higher-than-grocery-store prices.
This week I'm sharing four FREE things I did the first few years that got me to profit, and I still do them when I need a boost in new customers.
Many farmers think the solution to them getting and retaining customers is a better or different website. Or a BETTER email marketing program. Or the NEW social media platform, if only they could learn it.
But that is not how to build a loyal, consistent customer base.
At first glance you might think these things are too simple to work. Like, there must be a more high-tech solution I'm missing.
But there is no online solution to this problem. The solution is in today's podcast episode.
Decide today to implement what I talk about here - these steps are all free/cheap.
Then repeat them consistently and watch your new customers arrive and your current customers become super loyal.
After implementing these 4 steps, when you add my advanced marketing strategies I teach, your customer base will multiply exponentially like I share about my client Lyndsay in today's episode.
But you must get your foundation in place first. These 4 steps are one pillar - all 3 episodes in the series are the complete foundation.

25 Steps You Need to Start Your Farm Business (part 1)
00:20:27
Part 1 of 2.
Whether you’re just starting your farm or if you’ve been at this for a while, I get questions all the time with what farmers should do first, second, third to start and set up their farm business.
After you listen in to this episode and the few that will follow, you’ll know exactly where to start and what to do next to set yourself up to be a profitable farm. You’ll have the steps I wish I had 10+ years ago when I first started out.
In addition to this episode, you have a FREE downloadable guide to use as you follow step-by-step.
This will be your guide and inspiration for you to start and set up your farm business the right way — the first time!
Because my podcast is new, I’m asking listeners to write a review on iTunes where you’ll be entered into a weekly drawing at random. When you write a review, you’ll be entered to win a website or social media audit — absolutely FREE. I’ll give you strategic marketing feedback that will increase your email list and build loyal customers.
If you want to enter, go to www.3cowmarketing.com/itunes for exact details on how to leave an iTunes review. The process is super easy and should only take 2 mins of your time.
It’s common for my coaching clients to come to me and say, “I wish I had more personal time. I wish I could just find more space for myself.”
Then, they usually follow up with, “... but I can’t because I feel guilty or I don’t deserve to spend time on myself when there is so much to do.”
As women, we carry so much guilt around taking time for ourselves because we’ve been conditioned to think we have to do it all AND others' needs must come before our own.
We think we need to provide physically, mentally, emotionally, and oftentimes financially to our families that we’ve placed ourselves last on the to-do list.
And it's costing us a great deal - especially with our health, energy, and our profitability - it's ironic that thinking we need to be doing it all is keeping us from even making money.
Then we end up beating ourselves up for it all.
Well, I say “No more!”
Today’s episode is all about learning the 3 basic steps you need to start creating more personal time for yourself without feeling guilty.
A lot of farmers complain they can’t make money on a farm.
And the truth is - most farmers DON'T make any money, or at least enough to even cover expenses.
Most (98%) go out of business.
But here's what I know. It's not that you can't make money on a farm. It's that you haven't learned how.
And by "how" - I don't mean the actions you have to take - most people are repeating all the same actions they see other farmers doing and wonder why the same actions aren't working for them.
Making money in any business including farming starts with knowing how you've got to be thinking.
It's NOT the actions you take that makes you profitable. That's what most people think and do - and that's why they're failing.
Let me teach you how to think about money so you can finally get profitable. There IS a profitable mindset. Time to embrace it!
I know from my own experience and the experience of my many clients that you CAN learn how to build a profitable farm.
In episode 50, I’m going to teach you the first step to making as much money as you want on your farm.
Here’s what I want you to remember: Setting a money goal is not really about the money.
After all, you reach a point where you don’t need money to have more things.
Rather, I set money goals in my business because of the person I have to become in order to reach my goals.
Here's what I know - in order to reach each any new goal I set in my life, I've had to become a new version of myself.
Maybe that means I become more disciplined, more focused, a better communicator. THAT is the huge payoff. Better relationships with myself and others - priceless!
When you join me for episode 50, you’ll learn:
How to set goals that challenge you to reach a new level
The real reason you’re not making money (or not reaching your goals)
The mindset skills you’ll need to reach your goals every time
The truth about what it takes to up-level and reach huge goals
What I’m teaching in this episode is exactly what I’ve done to build a profitable farm with ease. And when you learn and apply these skills, the same can be true for you.
You don’t want to get to the last decade of your life and realize you were there for everyone else but didn’t pursue enough of what you wanted.
This is often why people come to my coaching program - they aren’t creating or following through on their farm dreams. Or their life goals.
>>Click The Link Above to Learn the Skill of Following Your Dreams<<
But to follow your dreams of building a farm and living days that fulfill you, you will have to tell some people, “no, I can’t help you with that, I have to prioritize MY farm, MY self.”
And when you prioritize yourself and your dreams, some people will feel disappointed.
Most of us try to avoid disappointing others at all costs.
At the cost of our dreams, our goals, and our fulfilling life.
But there’s another way.
When you learn the skill of letting people down (yes, it’s a learned skill), you will get a taste of what it’s like to live a more fulfilling life.
Living your dreams will always involve telling some people things that will make them feel disappointed.
And it can feel really terrible to know others are disappointed.
And today, I teach you how to do that with ease.
When you learn this skill, you'll create results on your farm and in your life that you never thought possible.
Because if you continue believing, “I can’t disappoint others,” it ALWAYS results in disappointing yourself.
When my clients realize this, their minds are blown.
What if it’s okay for others to feel disappointed if you say no?
Today I teach you how to learn a crucial skill that will allow you to live a fulfilling life and follow through on your dreams.
Stop beating yourself up by not following your dreams.

How to Stop Thinking Your Products/Pricing/Marketing is Never Good Enough
How often do you catch yourself thinking what you're producing, posting, or doing in your marketing is not quite good enough?
Many of my clients think this almost daily - but they also think they're the ONLY ONE thinking that their products or pricing or farm isn't good enough - - they think that everyone else is doing it right, but they can't get it right.
What if - you're not alone thinking what you're producing or doing isn't good enough?
Tune into today's episode to learn all the different ways you're holding yourself back and what you can do now to overcome these limiting thoughts.
Join me in this episode as I share how the notion of never being good enough also affects us physiologically.
This means if we feel like we're not good enough, we're already in a constant state of defensiveness and learn how THAT holds you back.
You can change all this... and I am here to tell you how.
In this episode, I’m talking all about:
How to overcome our socialization to stay stuck and small.
How to shift away from anxiety and defensiveness start to feel good about what you produce.
The real reason your farm exists - and when you believe this marketing and selling becomes so easy.
How one simple mindset shift can move you into a state of thriving.
The only comparison game you should be playing.
PLUS I share with you THE solution to actually improving your life. You don’t want to miss this.
We need to learn to counter the inherent wiring in our brain, and in order to do that we need to learn to manage our mindset.
That is the entire basis of mindset coaching. That is what I can offer you.

The Most Important Reason Why Your Farm Products Aren't Selling
My client created this amazing pricing course for new flower farmers that would save them 2-3 years of losing money.
There's nothing like it in the industry - she's sitting on a gold mine of knowledge and help for flower farmers!
Yet, she's not selling it.
She's not putting it out there.
I asked her why in Episode 86.
She said, "I doubt if it's good enough. I worry people won't buy it. I'm afraid flower industry experts might question it."
You might think those are normal thoughts everyone has. And they often are.
Yet when she allows herself to think them, she spins on trying to improve the product. Trying to make it good enough. Trying to do anything to prevent the possibility of an expert criticizing it.
Which means, it's still 'sitting on the shelf' not getting out there.
And every day it sits on the shelf she's not making money and neither are the new flower farmers that need this info.
She's stuck. NOT because the product isn't good enough. But because of her thought.
These same thoughts are causing many of us to NOT put our products out there. And for sure, to NOT price them sustainably!
This problem is so common because we often think that fine-tuning the product is the problem.
But the product is never the problem.
It's only her thinking that's the problem.
The solution?
It's clearly laid out in today's episode. Click HERE to listen.
And remember. This is what we do in 5X Your Farm Sales.
I coach you to get to the REAL problem and to fix it once and for all.
Then you finally stop doubting, stop the worry, stop the incessant perfecting - and get it out there and start building your profitable farm.
Your thoughts are what will keep your farm from success.
Your thoughts are what makes your farm successful.
It's NOT having the best product. Or having it priced just right. Or the best farming practices.
You need to learn this skill of intentionally creating the results you want in life.
Tune into Episode 86 to start now.

#226: Four Leadership Skills Every Farmer Needs to Build a Successful Farm
Are you like me - spending today recovering from eating too much turkey & pumpkin pie?🤣
As you read this, my whole family is cozied up in a big mountain house, skiing, playing pickleball, and eating leftovers.🦃🍗
I’m soo grateful for the farm sitters that spend their holiday caring for our animals so we can all get away at the same time.
But let’s talk shop for a minute - 2025 is right around the corner.
And I want to give you all I can to help set you up for a brilliantly successful year.
This starts with getting your mindset right.
Today’s powerful episode includes shifts:
The thing you do that actually prevents sales and repels people from buying from you
How to feel supported EVEN IF your partner doesn’t encourage you
The key to never feeling like a failure again
And many more gems to get you successful more of the time.
I’ve learned that success is not dependent on hope or luck or living in the “right” place where people prioritize farm products.
The farmers I work with who get to success and profit invest in learning the skills that create success.
These are not secrets only available to the magical few.
These things that move you toward a calm life and a profitable farm are tangible strategies and tactics that I’m outlining on the podcast this fall/winter.
Want to create more joy in your life and more success in your farm biz in 2025?
She and her husband produce and sell milk, chicken and pork. AND vegetables.
She was so overwhelmed and run ragged by customers stopping in at all times of day, she couldn't think straight.
Just one conversation with me that week and she got off our call and made changes that IMMEDIATELY CALMED HER LIFE DOWN and made her more profitable.
That was with ONE conversation.
Imagine how she’s continuing to transform her business and life in our 12 months of conversations in the 5X Coaching Program!
Hear her story of what she's created in just the last 5 months:
Going from losing to making money in just 4 months of coaching
Took a family vacation - first time ever in the summer
Setting clear boundaries with customers on the farm
Farm paying for itself + new milk room + new kids' bedrooms!
Maggie and her husband and children are all happier and more fulfilled
Maggie found hours and hours of time in her week which she's enjoying with her family and her personal self-care
Yes, it IS possible to have time for yourself AND make money on your farm. Listen to Maggie's interview on the podcast today, then join her inside 5X Your Farm Sales and start turning your life and farm around.
For the next 52 weeks I’ll teach and coach on anything you're struggling with on the farm.
We start with "The Less Stressed Farmer - 30 Days to Calm" because you can't make more money until you lessen the stress.
At the same time you're calming your life down, I'll be teaching you advanced marketing strategies and offer feedback to you on any of your marketing materials - emails, blogs, videos, FB & IG posts.
This is just the start of 5X-ing (or 10 or 20Xing) your farm sales.
Imagine never again being blindsided, triggered, or annoyed by toxic people's comments or obnoxious behavior at your family gatherings.
This is absolutely available to you - I teach you how in today's Episode of the Profitable Mindset.
>>Click the Link Above to no longer be triggered by difficult people.<<
Farmers often tell me the great lengths they go to in order to avoid people who make them uncomfortable.
One farmer would climb out of his 2nd story window when difficult customers came into the store.
I've coached many farmers in tears over things people said that crushed them.
What if.... you don't have to live that way? What if you can never feel offended again when people say or do things that have hurt you?
This is possible for you. In fact, if you want a fulfilling life and profitable farm, this is MANDATORY for you to learn.
If you don't learn the skill of dealing with difficult people in a way that feels wonderful to you, you'll keep yourself stuck, avoiding, complaining, and not enjoying your time you have to be around them.
Because let's face it, there are times where we just have to suck it up and deal with difficult or toxic people in our days, whether it's farm business or family life.
I've got help on the podcast today that will make your life so much more enjoyable and fulfilling - no matter who you're in the company of.

Last Friday, I sat down with my client, Lori Hernandez, and we dove deep on how coaching has transformed her life in every way - she was the first person to sign up for coach training so I asked her to share with you why she decided to do that.
Click the link above to listen to our vulnerable and moving conversation - if you have any questions at all that I can help you with, do reply to this email and ask me.
When I started my coach training, my life changed forever in many ways I never imagined.
When I started coaching full-time over three years ago, I started getting emails and messages that now come in daily about how YOUR lives are changing in every way, too.
I love coaching you, and now I get to teach you the concepts and skills I know, so that you can share with others. Together, we'll be touching thousands of lives. Soon, hundreds of thousands of lives. Then, millions.
I LOVE being able to give back in this way. Many of you have felt the urge to be an example of what's possible for others, too.
The first class opened up to my current clients and filled up immediately. So I opened up this second class and you get first dibs on the spots - there are 6 left.
If you feel called to serve in the world in this way, to help people feel better and finally reach their goals and dreams, consider training to be a coach in Farmers Coaching Farmers.
Imagine making a hideous mistake, like sending an email and dates are wrong, or a customer texts that their meat is tough or their flowers weren’t “enough.”
And then imagine that these mistakes and failures don’t even faze you.
Not that you don’t care - of course you want your marketing and products to be just right.
But imagine the fact that your stuff isn’t always perfect no longer derails you.
That’s how the farmers in my marketing Boot Camp feel when they implement this very simple 3 Step Process I teach and coach on almost every week.
>>Learn the 3 Step Process today on the Profitable Mindset Podcast Today<<
When your day isn’t ruined by a dumb mistake or a big failure, you stay on track and reach success sooner.
This process, used by the Army, is the simplest way to start learning from every failure and mistake you make in your life, on the farm, in your marketing.
When you learn from your mistake or failure, you no longer stay frozen. You reach success faster.
It becomes so easy to click “send” on that email or to answer someone’s criticism online of your product, your farm, or your service.
I know I used to shame spiral for hours after saying or doing the wrong thing.
The problem with shame spirals is they leave lots of destruction in their wake - for me, that was two glasses of wine every night to deal with the stress of the perceived mistakes and failures.
For others, it’s drowning their self-disappointment with over-scrolling or any other indulgent habit that doesn’t actually move you ahead.
This exercise is powerful and life-changing. It assures that every mistake or fail you have is actually a gem that moves you ahead.
I teach you how to find that gem HERE in episode 229 of the Profitable Mindset Podcast.
Listen and learn “How to Fix Every Mistake in Running Your Farm Business.”
The other beautiful consequence of implementing this simple practice is that your self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-belief expand each time you do it.
And more confidence and self-esteem make your days and your relationships all that sweeter.
Here’s to feeling confident and living the sweetest, most fulfilling life ever.
Much love,
Charlotte

Raise your hand if you think or say the following-
I never stop or sit down - I feel guilty, like I should be doing something productive because there's so much to do!
I'm overwhelmed daily with all that needs to be done on the farm and in the house.
I want to be "present" with my family, but I'm constantly thinking about what I should be doing instead.
I'm exhausted, burned out, and need a break, but I don't see how that's possible.
Then, I beat myself up, self-sabotage, for all the above. :(
Good news - I've got help for you.
There are 4 steps I'm teaching on Monday, October 16th, that will help you learn the skill of eliminating the overwhelm that most farmers find themselves in.
And here's what I know to be true - when the hundreds of farmers in my 5X coaching program implement what I teach in this free training, they finally start to make - and keep - more money.
You can't overwork and hustle your way to a profitable farm. That will never work.
Instead, you've got to learn the skill of managing your mind in a way that creates calm, focused productivity instead of constantly reacting, scrambling, and overworking.
It starts with learning the 4 Steps.

In 10 months of coaching inside 5X Your Farm Sales, Maggie has had HUGE success.
She knew from our coaching that her sales and marketing were being scattered and diluted with all the different products they sold - chickens, pork, vegetables and more.
So last May she decided to make her farm profitable by focusing on one thing and we coached on all the fear around that.
It worked. With her newfound confidence from her weekly coaching calls, she raised her prices and started making money. Finally making a profit.
The farm is now paying for itself AND she's banking a profit.
Sounds amazing, right?
But what happened next is why she continues coming back to be coached each week - as soon as you set new, bigger goals, your brain is wired to be fearful.
She's making money, paying the bills, banking the extra, and she STILL feels an overwhelming feeling of doubt about her ability to pay the land payment.
This debilitating fear is totally normal when you're building a business - but so many farmers use it against themselves instead of getting coached to manage it.
Maggie's fear drove her to get a part-time job (in addition to full-time raising 5 kids AND running the farm). She didn't really have time for that job, eh?
If she hadn't nipped this fear in the bud in our last coaching session, she would've proven the fear true and spread her resources - again - and NOT been able to make the payments.
Hear how she did it in TODAY's episode of the Profitable Mindset.
You'll learn about the superpower we develop in 5X Your Farm Sales and how you can apply it to your farm.
Enjoy,
Charlotte

#150: How This Lavender Farmer Learned to Stop the Fear, Guilt, & Overwhelm and Start Making Money & Love Life

Farming is a beast, you've heard me say.
And you absolutely must learn the skills to tame that beast if you want to be farming long-term (and if you want to be happily married long-term!)
If you don't learn the skills, the price you pay personally, emotionally, and financially is just too high.
My client, Kathleen, is on the podcast today sharing how she struggled so much her first year of farming.
She'd be taken over by fear of failure, guilt of spending so much money to get started. Shame and overwhelm were regular visitors.
And her biggest 'target' when she struggled was her husband - she blamed him for everything that was going wrong in her world.
She thought he didn't support her, didn't want to invest in her.
You can imagine how that went over in her marriage.
But then she met me at the lavender conference where I was the keynote speaker and she knew coaching would help her.
Soon after starting coaching in my program, she began learning and implementing tools to stop blaming her husband and stop getting angry at him.
And she says it's been mind-blowing how everything shifted in their relationship once she became aware of how she was blaming him for how she felt.
Now, she has a supportive partner. Not because he changed, but because SHE did.
She learned how to invest in her farm without guilt. If overwhelm creeps up, she knows how to get out from under it swiftly.
Her confidence grew when she dove into the confidence-building exercises. This confidence shows up in her marketing, and her sales are growing steadily.
These are all skills we're not taught anywhere else in life.
And you'll need to plan on learning these skills if you plan on farming.
Most farmers give up because it just becomes "too hard" - meaning, the emotional toll is too great on themselves & their families.
Kathleen is sharing today how she has reversed that emotional toll and her story will encourage you that you can do it as well.
You can absolutely learn to love your life, love your farm, and make money with much more ease.
Then, plan on joining Kathleen in 5x Your Farm Sales & Life in February.
Your farm, your life, and every relationship you have will improve drastically.
Enjoy!

Why Growth and Ease Cannot Co-Exist in Your Farm Business
There is a misconception that building your farm should only feel challenging sometimes, but not all of the time, that at some point it should become easy.
So many of my clients have this crazy desire to build their business, to be successful, and to live this farming lifestyle. But, where they get tripped up is in the idea that it shouldn't be as hard as it is.
That's not true, folks. I believe and experience that any dream or goal you want in life is an invitation to grow. There’s no way to reach that dream or goal without growth. And growth, my friends, can be super painful.
Join me in this episode where I discuss why growth and ease cannot coexist, and why you must grow if you want to build a successful farm business.
In this episode, I’m talking all about:
How in order to grow a profitable farm you’ll have to grow into the next best version of yourself.
The first step that change requires is a LOT of this one thing!
If you are surrounded by people who live in a fear and scarcity mindset, you might notice this one thing.
How to manage the survival part of your brain might be holding you back and preventing your success.
Don't want to experience the pain of growth to reach a big goal? No problem, just be sure to do this.
Why going after your goals and dreams feels BAD before it feels oh so good!

#238: This One Mindset is Stopping You from Building a Lucrative Customer Base
I'm sitting here at my desk, still thinking about yesterday's conversation that broke my heart.
A farmer jumped on a call with me in tears. She's done everything she thought possible to become profitable:
Spent $15,000 on a gorgeous website
Creates perfect Instagram reels that get tons of shares and comments
Drives an hour each way to premium farmers markets every weekend
Has professional photos of every product
And guess what? She STILL barely covers her farm's costs. Her family questions why she keeps going.
She's thinking about quitting the farm she's poured her heart into for five years with no $$ to show.❤️🩹
This may sound familiar, because it’s a story I hear often when a farmer first seeks my help.
But here's the wild part – right after that call, I spoke with another farmer who’s in my coaching program who just sells out her entire stock of $75 alpaca wool beanies (yes, $75 EACH!) in TWO HOURS with just ONE email.
Same industry. Similar products. Completely different results.
The difference isn't what you'd expect.
It's not about working harder. It's not about fancier marketing tactics. It's not even about having better products.
Mindset always drives profits. Strategy won't work if your mindset is not useful.
I was so fired up after these calls. Helping farmers learn to make money is my calling, my joy in life.
I had to immediately record this episode #238 of the Profitable Mindset Podcast to break down the exact mindset barrier that's keeping good farmers (like maybe you?) from building the customer base you deserve.
Tune in and listen.
This isn't fluff, I promise. Shifting your mindset is how you build a profitable farm.
In this episode, I share:
The 80/20 rule of farm profitability that completely flips how you should spend your time 🤯
The REAL reason why customers choose YOUR farm (hint: it has almost nothing to do with your beautiful products or the fancy reels!)
Why focusing on "getting new customers" is actually keeping you broke 🤦♀️
I'm not exaggerating when I say this mindset shift changes EVERYTHING.
Just last week, Lisa (a flower farmer in my program) tried what I teach and added 50 subscribers in two hours – all previous customers who'd abandoned her farm until she made this one change.
Anna completely sold out her farm dinner with a single email – something that used to take weeks of stressful back-and-forth messaging.
Listen, I know you're working your tail off. I used to as well! I figured it out, and now I share the mindset shifts with other farmers.
The long days, the physical exhaustion, the constant worry about sales... I've been there.
But what if the solution isn't working harder? What if it's just thinking differently?
I can't wait to hear what shifts for you after listening!
Cheering you on,
Charlotte

It’s usually this time of year many of my clients start to panic and think…
“It’s almost the end of the year, where in the world did the time go?”
“What did I actually get done this year?” ("not enough")
“Did we make enough to get through the winter?”
“What projects were left unfinished?”
"How do I make next year better?"
After they freak out a bit on a coaching call, I remind them they are armed with a plan and strategy for 2024.
Part 1 of this unique marketing plan you've probably never heard of before is below:

Over the years, I’ve learned a thing or two about building a marketing strategy that will consistently bring in new customers and help me make more money.

A lot of farmers will hustle to get to profit but they're still scattered and worn down because they didn't know this one thing:
You have to start off the bat creating a business you love in order to still love it when you get to profit.
You won't make that mistake if you follow the 7 Step business marketing plan I create every year for the last 7 years.
If you're already not loving your business, this plan will help you turn that around. There IS hope.

And I’ve tried.
These 25 steps are exactly what I did (and would have liked to have known) when I first started over 10 years ago.

When you started your farm, did you have a plan for cash flow?
I didn’t, I just knew I wanted to start a farm.
Now I ended up picking something that was great for cash flow. With dairy, I would milk the cows in the morning and by the end of the day, I would literally have a box of cash.
This was back in the days when people picked up milk on their own and put money in a box. We were open seven days a week, and it was the best cash flow plan I could have dreamed up.
I was lucky, because I didn’t intentionally have a plan for immediate cash flow.
Depending on what you’re producing, there are times when you need to invest some of your outside money in your farm and times when you’re making more from your product sales.
Lack of cash flow is another big reason many farmers go out of business, and so on today's episode, I'm talking about 3 ways to have more consistent cash flow on your farm.
If you're in the first year or two of your business, you’re going to have a lot of start-up expenses as you’re building the infrastructure of your farm. With this understanding, you’ll want to have a lot of working capital either with a big bank account full of money or a day job that allows you to keep investing in your farm.
Beyond these first years, we’re talking about money coming into then is going out of your business, and simple changes you can make in running your business so that you have consistent cash flow and don’t have to keep using credit cards or taking out loans in order to run your farm.
In this episode, I’m sharing one of the best changes I made on my farm and how you can make this simple change today to help with a cash flow problem. I’m explaining why this change is a win for your business and your customers, and how to convey these benefits so that customers are happy to pay.
We’re also taking a look at assets and liabilities, as I explain why I think one commonly considered liability is actually an asset in business. I’m sharing how this asset contributes to the profits on my farm and how you can do the same.
When you listen to this episode, you’ll discover what might be the most valuable asset in your business and what to focus on in order to have a positive cash flow, and a profitable, sustainable business.
Social media is FREE to use, and almost every one of your potential customers is on there, so why's it so darn frustrating to try to sell something using these platforms?
There’s a lot of skill involved in how to turn them into customers - skills you can learn.
I explain the “pay to play” model used by FB and Instagram.
Then, I explain the serious drawbacks to advertising on social media—if you don’t understand them, you’ll struggle.
Once you understand the pitfalls and the possibilities - I’ve got some recommendations of what’s working TODAY, things you can implement right now on social media.
Please tune in, save yourself lots of money, and if you ARE spending money on ads, today’s episode will save you heartache.
Warmly,
Charlotte

Why drop sites and delivery will save your farm during a quarantine
Corona is affecting all of us, all over the world (not just our farm or our town or our country… all of us).
During this time of quarantine, getting your products into the hands of the people who need them most can be a challenge.
But what if I told you that even if your farmer’s market is shut down right now, you can still do something powerful to save the farm.
In today’s episode, I share why delivering to your customers might be the answer you need.
And you can get it started today!
In this episode, you’ll hear:
My strict boundaries that ensure everyone shows up to get their order
The technique I use to make sure my costs are covered while still offering “free delivery”
What tech tools I use to make sales at drop sites super easy and organized
I teach you on the podcast today my step-by-step process for drop sites & deliveries.
I pulled this training out of my Sales Made Simple Course teaching you the exact process I use to get products in the hands of people when markets close like they’re doing all across the country right now.
Lastly, forward this to your farmer friends who may be needing this extra instruction to set up their drop site/delivery process during this time of shutdowns and quarantines.
Enjoy,
Charlotte

How to be An Expert in Writing Profitable Marketing Emails
Most people struggle to make sales from emails and they just decide that it doesn't work.
But - what if I told you - it's not that email marketing doesn't work - it's just that you've never learned how to structure the emails so people WANT to buy from you.
Today I teach you 4 components of profitable emails that will start changing how people respond to your communication.
AND, you can use the same components to up your response to your social media posts.
If you’re looking for more sales, more engagement, and more connection with your customers, listen to episode 53 of The Profitable Mindset podcast, where I’m teaching you how to be an expert in writing profitable marketing emails.
The best part is that I’m sharing actionable tips you can implement right now!
Join me in episode 53 to discover:
Why social media marketing might not be working for you and what to do instead
What’s really keeping you from emailing your list on a regular basis (and how to move forward)
How I started my farm and made a plan to make it profitable (this might change how you feel about marketing)
The truth about what to do so that customers are happy to pay more for your products
When you learn and implement the 4 key components to writing a profitable marketing email, it’s going to be so much easier to write emails to your list and build that customer loyalty that leads to a profitable, sustainable farm.
I’ve got the most wonderful strategy to share with you on the Profitable Mindset Podcast today.
It’s what I’ve done for over 20 years of hiring and managing employees.
The first time an employee told me, “You’re the best boss I’ve ever had,” I thought they were being nice.
I started hearing it regularly - people loved working at my farm.
I started asking why - and they said they felt valued.
I saw it in their performance - they were always willing to go the extra mile usually only an owner does.
I taught you this exercise today on the podcast, and it helps you create a wonderful farm environment where people love showing up for work—yes, even hard farm work.
Give it a try.
I pulled it out of Farm Marketing Mastery, my signature program that teaches farmers how to get profitable.
I know you’ll love it because not only will your employees feel valued, but you’ll feel valued by them when they improve because you’re using this technique.
Let me know what happens when you do it. Feel nervous? It’s normal—give it a try anyway. The payoff in their performance is so worth feeling nervous!
Big hugs,
Charlotte
PS: Farm Marketing Mastery opens in September. Formerly known as “5X Your Farm Sales,” - it’s the same program but with a different name, and you’ll learn how to make your farm profitable. Plan on joining then!
If I could help you get anything you want on your farm, what would that be?
MOST people say time and money... not necessarily in that order.
What most farmers usually DON'T tell me is they need more fulfillment.
But too many farmers contact me for help because they've figured out how to make money in their business...
...but their farm also sucked all of the joy out of them.
And they come to me to announce everything's for sale, they're shutting down, they just don't enjoy what they've built, so it's not worth the hard work required.
They realized they figured out how to make money - but the business wasn't sustainable over the long run.
Your farm can't be fulfilling when it's bleeding the very life out of you.
InEpisode 230 of the Profitable Mindset Podcast, I show you how to build a farm business that you enjoy working in.
Now THAT is sustainable!
Answer the questions in the episode, and by the end, your mind will be blown by the clarity you'll start to see and feel.
You'll have a roadmap for what to say yes to and what to say no to with great confidence.
It's crucial that you not only build a profitable farm, but also that you build a farm that you feel fulfilled running and owning.
It's not sustainable to build a farm that makes money, but you're not enjoying getting up and going to work every day.
It takes conscientious, intentional effort to build a business you LOVE, and it makes money.
Today's podcast episode is the roadmap to making that happen.
It’s August, and the overwhelm is rampant among the farmers reaching out for coaching!
This week, I talked with a woman neck deep in overwhelm and exhaustion.
She’s in two farmers markets, and farm work is at its peak right now!
And she still can’t get it all done.
I asked, “What’s ONE thing that, if you changed it right now, would give you the most relief?”
She responded - getting her employees to do the right things in the right way. She said she still ends up doing most of the work because she’s faster/better.
I hear this often. And the solution may not be what you were expecting.
She hired and trained her employees, but they’re spilling feed, not cleaning up after themselves, and not setting up or tearing down the market booth in the way she taught them.
They’re not attentive to all the details.
She’s bummed they’re not getting it.
You WILL make mistakes when you hire. Today’s episode will help lessen those mistakes.
Be sure you’re appreciating your commitment to improving your farm’s bottom line by listening in to all the solutions I offer each week.
Sending you big summer hugs,
Charlotte

#194: How and Why It's Crucial to Get Yourself on Your Farm's Payroll
Working for free on the farm was modeled for me growing up.
Mom drove truck all day long during wheat and grass seed harvest with us 3 kids bouncing around on the long bench seat (seatbelts were non-existent.)
She did the books and the payroll. All for free.
Not to mention, mom kept the household going year ‘round.
She never got a paycheck from the farm.
When I started my own farm in 2009, writing myself a check wasn’t a priority.
But I quickly realized I had to figure out how - it was my sole source of income to pay the mortgage!
If I wanted to keep my kids home, I had to learn the skills to pay myself on my farm.
Don’t just 'hope' you’ll get to a point where you get paid someday.
“Hope" doesn’t write the paychecks.
Paying yourself means learning a set of skills, so you manage the finances in a way that gets you a paycheck.
Today on the podcast, you’ll hear about one farmer's journey from not being paid for the past 8 years to wanting to quit and now learning the skills of paying herself for her work.
Episode 18 here: https://www.3cowmarketing.com/18-how-to-stop-worrying/As a woman in farming, we put ourselves on the bottom of the to-do list, don't we? Like at the very bottom. Self-care is never a priority when there is so much to do, right? Self-care feels like a luxury that only the “rich” get to experience. And I've heard from the men, too, it's not limited to just us "farm gals." Self-care becomes a priority:
AFTER we make our husband’s lunch…
AFTER we get the kids ready for school…
AFTER we tend to the cows… chickens... customers...
AFTER all of our "other" responsibilities are met…
Which honestly, leaves zero time for ourselves. But what if I told you that after years of putting myself dead last, it was no wonder I was resentful, tired and ready to quit. Today, with all I've learned about the dangers of neglecting self-care, I now make time for myself. On today’s podcast, I share how I’ve made this mindset shift and what it had done for me, my family and the farm’s profits.

#236: The One Thing to Solve on Your Farm for the Biggest Return
What if I told you the most successful farmers I work with are doing the OPPOSITE of what seems logical? 🤔
In fact, they're turning DOWN opportunities left and right... and making more money than ever.
Sounds crazy, right?
I mean, isn’t the right opportunity actually a gold mine??
Here's the thing: In today's world of infinite possibilities - new/different products, new ways to show up on social, invites to collaborate or co-op, even new website platforms that promise to make more sales - there's a hidden trap that's costing you serious money. 💸
And chasing the "next big opportunity" isn't the solution. It's actually the problem.
Yes. Opportunities are costing you so much money. How to know if it’s right for you?
I just released a podcast episode that reveals:
The surprising "gateway drug" to staying broke and struggling
What profitable farmers are saying NO to and doing instead
The not-so-obvious marker that predicts farm success
A simple exercise my most profitable clients use to stay focused
Warning: This might challenge everything you think you know about building a profitable farm.
But if you're tired of working harder but not making enough money, you need to hear this.
Ready to learn what the most profitable farmers do differently?
Farmers like Valerie who 10x’d her farm stand sales in a few months, Vanessa who 4x’d her sales this past year, and Elaine who sells out in an hour instead of what used to be all year of advertising.
They’re all on the podcast. They did what I addressed in today’s episode, and it’s paid off big-time.
With tough love and truth,
Charlotte💚
P.S. The solution is simpler than you might think - but it's probably not what you're doing right now. Listen to the episode to find out why. 🎧
What if I told you the biggest secret to reaching your HUGE goals in your life and business is not about what you thought it was?
Many people think reaching goals is about better planning, creating motivation, drive, or more organization. Or they think reaching those huge goals depends on having an amazing website or getting into the right market.
But instead, what if I shared new research that neuroscience teaches us - that your success depends on how fulfilled you feel TODAY?
In today's episode, you'll learn what most of us are doing to try to reach our goals is actually costing us time and energy - AND I'll show you how to create that elusive fulfilling feeling that will drive your success.
This week a farmer asked for coaching because she has writer’s block and often feels stuck when she sits down to write.
Yet she knows her farm's success depends on her being able to write emails to sell, descriptions on her website that will sell, social media posts that will sell.
And yet when she feels blocked and uninspired, the result is sales are slow and difficult because of this writer’s block which is not allowing her to write.
Ugh! It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Her writer's block assures no sales emails will go out, or if they do, they were exhausting to write and ineffective.
Today's podcast episode will walk you through how to overcome writer's block and general lack of inspiration or enthusiasm around marketing.
In episode 107 you'll learn:
The sneaky way you keep yourself stuck and blocked
Why you don't feel inspired when you sit down to write
How to create the feeling of inspiration when you need it
You might think, oh I just need some writing prompts or a template. THEN I'll be able to get over writer's block.
I have so many writing prompts in my marketing program.
I even have lessons on copywriting.
But this is why coaching is crucial - you can’t do the thing you KNOW you have to do if you’re creating a feeling of stuck for yourself.
You won't be able to take action when you’re stuck.
You’ve got to solve for that first.
Instead, I teach you the skill of being able to write on demand - which is learning to create inspiration or focus, whatever emotion you need, when you need it.
Listen to Episode 107 now and learn how to overcome writer's block.
You might not think building a farm that you LOVE owning and running is as important as building a farm that's profitable.
But too many farmers contact me for help because they've figured out how to make money in their business...
...but their farm also sucked all of the joy out of them.
And they come to me to announce everything's for sale, they're shutting down, they just don't enjoy what they've built so it's not worth the hard work required.
They realized they figured out how to make money - but the business wasn't sustainable over the long run.
Your farm can't be fulfilling when it's bleeding the very life out of you.
In Episode 101, I address how it's imperative that learning to make money is equally as important as learning to build a farm business you love.
Now THAT is sustainable!
Answer the questions in the episode and by the end your mind will be blown by the clarity you'll start to see and feel.
The first question will guide you through some data that is really crucial to know - and easy to find.
I tell you exactly where to find this data that you'll need to make to make informed decisions, so you can stop guessing or hoping.
The next couple of questions will tell you exactly what you need to focus on for 2022 and what your projected income is AND what to focus on to get there.
You'll have a roadmap for what to say yes to and what to say no to with great confidence.
Combine these answers with episode 99, part 1, and you'll be armed with everything you need to make 2022 your most successful year yet - financially AND for the highest quality of life.
It's really crucial that you not only build a profitable farm, but also that you build a farm that you feel fulfilled running and owning.
It's not sustainable to build a farm that makes money but you're not enjoying getting up and going to work every day.
it takes conscientious intentional effort to build a business you LOVE and it makes money.
And THIS podcast episode is the roadmap to making that happen.

See you inside,

#175: How This Flower Farmer Increased Her Price by 30% and Still Sells Out
Three days before her wedding, flower farmer Colleen Taugher sat down with me
to record this podcast episode.
She was calm, balanced, energetic, and stress-free.
Even during the busy flower season! Plus designing her own wedding bouquets.
She credits the 5x Coaching program with allowing her to easily and calmly plan her wedding, do all her flowers, and take off for a 10-day honeymoon.
All while managing a busy flower farm and employees and fulfilling her floral design orders.
And she’s making more money than ever in her business this year.
You see, over the past year in the coaching program, she’s learned to increase her prices by enough to hire help and still make a profit.
She credits the Time Management class I teach with balancing her ADHD brain.
She is no longer in constant reaction mode on her farm. She could get off the “hamster wheel” she felt she was running on in the past.
Life’s too short to be stressed and overwhelmed.
She started with the 5X time management program, and Colleen went from feeling frantic and overwhelmed to farming and wedding planning, feeling fun and balanced.
With my program, she learned to be realistic with her schedule, and her brain calmed down.
She implemented the coaching and teaching and became much more productive.
And. Did I mention
Raising her prices up-leveled her customer base. The bargain hunters dropped off, and more enthusiastic people eager to pay her higher prices showed up instead.
You’ll be inspired by what Colleen has done in the past year with coaching.
Listen to her success by clicking the link above.
Plan on joining us in 5X Your Farm Sales in August! When you implement the teaching and coaching, you’ll create success in your life and business that you never imagined possible.
Working harder does not make you more money.
Otherwise, every farmer would make tons of money - NO ONE works harder than farmers.
Listen to Colleen’s story of success. Then let’s make yours a reality, too.
It IS the nature of the business we signed up for.
But if we don't learn to manage for the overwhelm and stress...
...we start to resent the people, animals, kids, customers - anyone who demands our time.
I remember being so desperate to get out of overwhelm that I'd daydream about the farm disappearing, and I'd wake up in a studio apartment with a simple 40-hour-a-week job.
I knew it was bad and affecting my health, but I didn't know how to get out from under it all.
I learned, and now I teach farmers the same time and life-management strategies and mindsets that saved me six years ago when I felt like I hit bottom.
Listen to Today's Episode of the Profitable Mindset Podcast
Overwhelm prevents us from making money, and more importantly, it's making us sick.
Then, we end up beating ourselves up for it all.
Well, I say, “No more!”
Today’s episode is about learning to drop the guilt and start creating space for you to get out of overhwhem.
I hope you’ll try the exercise I teach on the podcast today.
I’ve been right where you are. And when I implemented this, my whole life changed and I had to share with you.
Now, I spend my life teaching farmers how to make money. And it starts with learning to manage your time. And step one in learning to manage your time… is the skill I teach today.
Tune in and give it a try!
Warmly,
Charlotte
Interested in finding 10-20 hours in your week? That's what farmers do in my Time Management for Farmers Boot Camp.
It's a six-week coaching program that includes my Master Your Time/Master Your Life online course, plus live coaching. It's life-changing.
You can be skilled at farming AND marketing but still NOT be making money on your farm.
Here's why...
Most farmers are missing the mindset skills required to build a sustainable & profitable farm.
(Actually, it's not just limited to farmers, it's all humans - we aren't taught mindset management anywhere in our lives. Until now.)
Here's how it goes - farmers start their farms.
They're great at producing top-quality products.
They've built - or paid to have built - a nice-looking website that works.
They get lots of likes and comments showing interest.
Maybe even making lots of sales. But not quite making money.
And - because farming is the beast it is - there are lots of moving parts.
This means more opportunities for things to go wrong, to break, and mistakes to be made.
And these problems take up so much of your time.
Problems like these my client brought to our coaching call this week:
"Nothing's working out"
"Things keep breaking or falling apart"
"I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop"
"I'm wasting so much of my time"
She said she feels useless when she thinks this way.
Once she makes herself feel useless, then she second guesses herself - like, 'why do it when it probably won't work out anyway.'
This makes her feel overwhelmed.
Which results in more struggle and feeling stuck.
Not moving ahead on the money making activities.
And not making a profit.
This kind of thinking happens to a lot of farmers and if you don't figure out how to turn it around, most people decide to throw in the towel and quit eventually.
They decide it's too miserable to live long-term in overwhelm and feeling like things aren't working.
But today's episode of the Profitable Mindset Podcast will teach you a few simple - but incredibly powerful - things that will help add the mindset skills you need to build your profitable farm.
Click the link above to learn the missing piece of building a profitable farm.
They're simple shifts you can start practicing immediately and you'll notice results right away, too.

#116: How to Stop Your Mind from Spinning and Looping and Finally Feel Calm
I used to wake up every night about 1:30-2:00 AM and just toss and turn for the next couple of hours, worrying about my farm, family, and my to-do's.
It wasn't even productive or useful because I wasn't actually doing anything!
I was just looping & spinning. But I couldn't stop it, either.
Then, I'd wake up on time in the morning, but groggy and tired.
I thought it was normal because most of my friends had the same struggle!
I thought it was just how life was as a busy farmer + parent + managing the house and business.
It sucked, though, to be tired a lot of the time.
I knew it wasn't productive but I didn't know how to stop it.
I actually thought it was just how life was going to be, forever.
I even had friends advise me to drink alcohol before bed and then I'd sleep straight through... didn't work, though!
Then my other friend said she takes Tylenol PM every night...
People suggested melatonin and magnesium and specific teas.
I tried it all.
Nothing worked and I wondered "is this all there is in life for the next 30 years?"
Then I found the work that I'm teaching you today.
What I'm teaching you today changed my life and now my clients are able to improve their sleep and they've shut off the daytime spinning and looping, too!
One of the hugest payoffs to stopping the spinning & looping that goes on in my clients' heads is they find 10-20 MORE hours in their weeks.
And I want this for you, too!
Today's podcast episode will help you stop the spinning and looping in its tracks!
Implement the steps, practice them, and then let me know how you do!
This is something I coach on regularly, too - if you're not yet a client - this podcast will get you on your way to managing how you think so you can create way more time and success.
Warmly,
Charlotte

The Critical Skill This Farmer Learned to Increase Sales by 40%.
Then, listen to Beth's story on the podcast today.
Up until a year ago, Beth Carver treated herself like an "abusive boss" in her farm business.
She constantly felt like she wasn't good enough.
She thought she had to drive herself and talk to herself harshly in order to get the business successful.
This never works.
She thought if she treated herself kindly, then she wouldn't be motivated to do the hard things her farm biz required.
The problem was, she was struggling in the business AND not feeling good about herself.
Beth was constantly feeling guilty - if she was working on the business, she felt guilty ignoring her 2-year-old son.
If she was with her son, she felt guilty not working in her business.
This was such a heavy, exhausting, burdensome way to live her days.
This is so common among farmers! We think we need to drive ourselves hard to make the business successful.
We think we don't deserve time off, or we haven't earned the right to pay ourselves yet.
Many farmers tell me they are burdened by this constant feeling that they aren't doing anything quite good enough - the farm, the marketing, or being a mom & wife.
This constant feeling of not being good enough makes building a profitable farm impossible.
You read that right.
You can't get to a profitable farm, your marketing won't work, if you don't figure out how to change your thoughts about yourself.
I teach Advanced Marketing Strategies - but those strategies will not work if you're not in a place mentally where you have your own back.
Where you give yourself compassion and confidence with ease.
That's just ONE of the huge advancements Beth has made in the past year that allowed her to increase her sales by 40% while feeling confident AND ALSO while realizing she actually liked herself for the first time in her life.
Beth is not alone.
It's rampant among women farmers, especially, that we are super hard on ourselves.
My clients' logic is that they need to drive themselves to create success.
But this does not work. It prevents you from success.
Listen to Beth's full interview above.
Then, join 5X Your Farm Sales and give yourself the gift of a profitable business once you learn how to be confident and treat yourself with compassion.
EVERYTHING in your life and business is easier when you learn to like yourself.
This is the ONLY room where you'll learn self-compassion, confidence, decisiveness AND the marketing strategies to build a profitable farm.
This week a client got on a coaching call and said she was part of an email thread in her area with a bunch of farmers saying you can't make a living farming.
(All because THEY weren't making a living farming.)
And she was feeling stuck thinking she would never get to profit.
She wasn't raising her prices when she believed this discussion.
Yet she knows in our group we have farmer after farmer reporting increased profits, increase revenue, reaching bigger sales goals than ever before.
She wondered who to believe.
THIS is why mindset work is so important: if you surround yourself with failing farmers telling their sad story of going broke, then that's what you'll believe.
And that's what you will create on your farm.
IF you want to be successful, surround yourself with farmers like the 5X coaching clients who are learning to create profitable farms.
Today's podcast is an example of what's possible for you when you learn the marketing skills and mindsets I teach.
I invited several farmers to share their favorite changes in their businesses and lives since starting this program.
THIS is how you make success inevitable - surround yourself with other farmers and study their mindsets.
And unsubscribe from those lists of people sharing about how it's not possible!
My clients in 5X Your Farm Sales are selling out in 12 hours in one case, one email in another case, and one week of emails for others.
This is just the beginning of their successes! Tune in to hear how they're making more money with more calm and peace than ever before.
Hear from one farmer who's been self-critical her whole life and how that's shifting today and has changed EVERYTHING about her life AND marriage AND business.
If you've ever thought maybe you're too old to learn how to turn your farm around, you'll hear from Carole, age 70, who's ecstatic at the success she's creating in her farm business and her personal life.
Tune in today and hear what's possible when you surround yourself with successful people.
Bootcamp is brutal and when he was first deployed, I struggled with why they train our soldiers in such a harsh way.
Later, I discovered the reason and was completely grateful he was prepared and ready for anything.
Now I know farming is not the same as Marine Corps Bootcamp, but you do need a similar strength, focus, and consistency in your marketing if you want to survive.
And if you’re sold out of products right now, I have a strategy for how you can continue marketing in a way that will build relationships and a profitable farm.

#234: How Valerie 10x'd her Farm Stand Sales in Six Months
Listen to Valerie’s 10X Story on the Profitable Mindset Podcast
After hearing me mention how you make far more money hosting your farm stand for just a few hours a week INSTEAD of being open 24/7 - she was intrigued.
She was also scared because it seemed counterintuitive.
But she joined Farm Marketing Boot Camp last summer, trusted the process I teach, implemented it, and increased her sales every month since.
You can do the same.
You might not believe it. That’s okay.
Valerie doubted it could work - but she tried anyway.
She doubted it would work for their farm because:
1️⃣ She’s way too busy as a homeschooling mom of 5 AND a wife
2️⃣ You can’t even see the farmstand from the road, so why would people stop?
3️⃣ There’s not much traffic on their road
4️⃣ AND there’s so much competition: 5 other farm stands and six farmers markets each day of the week
You may have also thought these same things would prevent you from making many times more money at your farm stand.
But I promise you, you can learn the skills I teach and make so much more money - and profit - on your farm than you think you can.
Even if you’re a busy, homeschooling mom and you live far from the nearest town and are surrounded by lots of competition.
Listen to Valerie’s story on the Profitable Mindset Podcast today.
Then, plan on joining us for Boot Camp in April when it opens up again and watch your profits soar.
See you inside!

#170: Your employees aren't as productive as you are - what next?
Last week a farmer showed up to our coaching call frustrated because her employee takes 2 hours to milk the cows and it takes her 50 minutes.
Then, a vegetable farmer said his employee takes twice as long to harvest a row of beans and misses half of them.
>>Click the link above to Learn What To Do When Your Employees Aren’t As Fast/Good as You<<
When you make yourself feel frustrated because you think your employees should be working harder, smarter and just overall better….
…you cause yourself even bigger problems.
From this place of frustration, you end up doing more of the manual labor because, well, let’s face it, “if you want a job done right, you gotta do it yourself” comes to mind.
From this place of frustration, I hear from some of you that you're finding other jobs for the employee that are NOT what you hired them for, because you end up doing the milking and the harvesting. And all the things.
From this place of frustration, when you DO try to go inside and work on marketing or some other money-making activities, you’re looping and spiraling on so many negative thoughts you can’t focus.
See all the problems you create for yourself when you think employees should be as productive as you are.
I’ve got a solution on the Profitable Mindset Podcast today. Episode 170.
Tune in HERE and learn the first step to fix this problem.
I think you’ll find the solution surprising.
It’s NOT that you have the wrong employees and have to fire them all and start over.
The BEAUTIFUL thing about this solution is - it's 100% within your control.
Tune in and learn how to manage your employees and yourself when they aren’t working as hard or as efficiently as you.
You’re not alone.
And we can all fix this.
See you in episode 170.

The Number One Mistake I see Most Farmers Making
00:18:42
Deciding on investing in coaching? Book a free strategy session to see if the program is right for you:
Many of us think the diversified farm is the pinnacle of farming.
Tons of research shows us how good it is for the land.
But you gotta earn the right to have a diversified farm.
What do I mean by that?
You earn the right by proving you can be successful & profitable with ONE species or product line before you can expand to two.
Or four.
Or six.
Here’s the thing, if you don’t learn what it takes to sell ONE product successfully with a healthy profit margin first, then when you add a second, you’ll go broke OR you’ll forever be pumping money into your business from your day job.
Your diversified farm will do you in if you diversify before learning the skill of being profitable.
Diversification of products dilutes your marketing. So you’ve got to have your marketing dialed in hard on the one product and working to bring you lots of profit before ever expanding to the second.
Most farmers fall in the trap of not having success selling their first product and they think the solution is to add another.
For instance, they start with 500 meat chickens and can’t quite sell them out.
So they add pigs, thinking now they’ll attract more people who want pork AND chicken.
Soon they’re not selling enough of both at a high enough price, so they think for sure when they add raw milk (or vegetables, or flowers) THEN they’ll sell and make money.
But it doesn’t work that way.
It’s about this point they realize they’re bleeding money and they decide to reach out to me for help figuring out why they aren’t making money.
I teach them how and support them in scaling back down until they’re strongly profitable with one focus.
Listen to this week's episode to learn how to focus and build profit and THEN expand.
Once you nail this, you’ll be making a profit, finally be fulfilled and enjoy the luxury of time - I promise! And, you’re welcome.

#132: How This Farmer Works Far Less While Making Far More Profit - Client Interview
"I'm making the same amount of money working far fewer hours this year. I'm confident I can make any amount of money I want with this farm. Everyone notices how much calmer and nicer I am."
>>Click the link above for Lisa's full story of how she did this on the podcast today<<
Many farmers quit because they reach the breaking point where they realize the stress is not worth it.
EVEN WHEN they're making money, they realize the money is not worth the mental, physical and emotional toll they pay.
Not to mention the toll on all their relationships.
You see, being a farmer means we face an extraordinarily large number of challenging circumstances daily that most other business owners do not have to contend with.
The extraordinary circumstances aren’t going away any time soon - the weather, death, and loss of animals and crops, government regulations, the HIGH financial inputs, the rising costs of everything…
…are what it means to be a farmer.
Since those circumstances aren’t going away and are actually a normal part of a farm business, you’ve got to learn how to manage your mindset around them.
Today's interview with my client Lisa shows you how she turned this around.
She still has all the same circumstances - farm, customers, rising costs and prices not kept up.
But through coaching, she’s created these results:
Far easier to manage employees-you taught me how to delegate with ease and feel confident in their abilities
Much less stress every day
Much more acceptance, feeling calm, and no more complaining.
A feeling of free and in control
“My kids hug me every day”
CSA members are happier because there's a calmer and more peaceful feeling on our farm
Mistakes happen, and I don't flip out
I learned the skill of no longer taking things personally, such as when a customer quits or gets upset at a mistake that was made.
>>Click the link above to learn how you can also learn to transform your life and farm<<
This work is the best thing you can do in your life. It will change every area of your life - and farm - for the better.
Be ready - 5X Your Farm Sales opens up in a couple of weeks, and you can meet Lisa inside and have the same huge successes she’s had.
Anything is possible for you when you learn to manage your mindset.
I mean - absolutely anything.

How to Price Your Farm Products for Profit (Part 1)
00:36:22
If you’re brand new to farming and thinking you need to lower your prices so that you can stay competitive with Walmart, Amazon or your local grocery store, this episode is for you.
If you’re thinking you need to be the cheapest so you can sell the most — listen up!
After marketing direct to consumer for over 10 years, I’ve found that the farmers that do market their products as the “cheapest” are often broke, completely stressed out and are ready to call it quits.
But that isn’t going to be you — You’re different.
You’re different because you’re HERE.
You want to serve your community in a way that feels good.
You love the farm life and want to keep doing what you’re doing.
You deserve to pass your heritage onto your children.
And you will — when you price your farm products for profit.
Download the free spreadsheets to determine your pricing here:
I’ve heard a lot of farmers recently say things like, “I hope all these customers that are buying from us right now remember us when this pandemic is over.”
Part of me is so happy to hear that farmers are finally selling out of their farm fresh products and the other part of me cringes when I hear, “I hope these customers come back…”
I cringe because I hear the word “hope” and think we can’t “hope” for customers. We have to work our tails off to ensure they come back.
But I know most farmers will think, “Yeah Charlotte’s, that’s nice, but how?”
Well, I have a few simple ways you can practically guarantee that customers will come back after this pandemic is over.
The farmers who implement these simple elements I teach are having financial success beyond anything they ever dreamed possible.
Many people think farming is not a lucrative endeavor.
My clients prove them wrong every day.
My clients are selling out, often at the highest prices around.
Like Hannah Boggs selling $50-$80 chickens.
Not because she likes to charge a lot, but because that’s what she must charge on her small-scale farm to cover costs, pay her employees and make a profit.
My clients, farmers from all over, can do this because they've studied with me and coached hard with me to learn the simple marketing steps
I'll be teaching these steps on April 22nd during my free training, “Reinvent Your Marketing.”
The feedback I offer will help you in all your marketing, including how you write emails and the pages on your website.
You'll want to be there, watch and learn. Sign up even if you can't make it at 10 Pacific - you'll get the replay.
Each time I offer strategic marketing feedback on these calls, farmers email me afterward sharing success:
"Sold 80% of my flower subscriptions with ONE email after you rewrote it"
Another farmers rewrote her email as I taught and a day later sold 2 hogs with that email, previously not getting anyone to buy from her emails.
This new farmer added the missing key to her website and created 12 signups to her email list which was previously at zero (everyone starts at zero, you just don't want to get stuck there)
Several farmers DOUBLED their email signups within weeks of making the website edits
"Selling one beef per month consistently since rewriting my newsletter as you explained how"
This WILL be you if you implement even half of what I teach during my “Reinvent Your Marketing” free training.
My clients learn that people will buy ANYTHING they offer for sale on their farms.
They experience this because they are learning how to craft expert marketing that creates sales.
They learn how to sell people on their products in a non-icky, non-salesy way and find that people love giving them money.
And these customers don’t complain about the prices their farmers, my clients, have to charge.
And I’m going to help you learn this skill, too.
This is “Reinvent Your Marketing.”
For farmers.
Yes. FREE.
April 22nd. (replay sent same afternoon)
Get feedback on one piece of your marketing that makes your 2024 goal inevitable.
When we start our farms, we often have this secret thought...
"Wouldn't it be great if we could support ourselves full-time on the farm and quit our day jobs?"
And then you get further into the business and realize how expensive it is. How hard the work is. How stressful it is. And you start to doubt.
Today you're in for a treat that’ll curb your doubts and give you hope.
Brooke Palmer, a winter tulip farmer near Ithaca New York, is sharing her success story on the Profitable Mindset Podcast.
She joined my program two years ago, frazzled, teaching during the day and squeezing in farming every other moment of the day and night.
She didn't enjoy selling. She didn't even know how to sell - her process was stressful and time-consuming.
Once she joined Farm Marketing Mastery, she studied and implemented the three pillars I teach over the year. She raised her prices. She started selling efficiently and calmly.
She sold out. She re-joined for a second year. She continued getting my feedback and coaching, improving her selling and time management.
This year Brooke fulfilled her dream of quitting her high-school teaching job to farm full-time.
She learned the skills I teach so her farm could replace her income.
Please know that she's no different than you and I.
Brooke's here to share her journey so you can have hope and confidence that you can build a profitable farm, too.
Perhaps you want to quit your day job, retire your spouse, or just make enough to contribute financially to the household.
You can.
I interview my students regularly on the podcast, so you can know this is available to you, too.
Building a profitable farm is a learned skill.
Please, let that sink in. When you learn the skill of creating time, money and mind management, you will notice huge financial growth.
Farm Marketing Mastery is opening up soon.
If you're considering joining and have any hesitations or questions - let's meet on Zoom. This is not a sales call. This private meeting is so I can get to know you and your needs and see if the program is a good fit.
You can schedule that 25 min. 1-1 with me by clicking HERE.
I would LOVE to meet you!
Hugs,
Charlotte

We are getting more for wholesale eggs than most folks are getting retail. By the end of April, we had already made more money selling eggs than we did for the entire year last year!” -Teddi
What if having a successful farm could be as simple as choosing to think differently?
You may be tempted to doubt, but please hang in here with me for a minute.
Today, on the Profitable Mindset Podcast, I shatter some of the biggest myths about what makes a successful farm.
For a decade now, I've interviewed and studied the successful farmers inside my coaching program.
I've made notes of what they're doing that's different from the mainstream.
TheBIGGEST difference between those who have calm and profitable farms and everyone else is that balanced, calm, profitable farmers consistently think and, therefore, act differently.
No matter how small or how big their farm.
No matter where they're located or what kind of website they have.
They've curated a set of beliefs through coaching that allows them to build sustainable, profitable farms.
In today's episode, I outline these beliefs that will create your success, too.
The farmers I study know without a doubt that the unique methodology we use inside the coaching boot camp is why they were able to let go of outdated beliefs that kept them stuck and believe useful and productive thoughts instead.
Do you enjoy selling some of your products, but dread others?
Maybe you no longer look forward to going to the local farmers market only to make a few sales after dedicating 6+ hours of time on a Saturday and Sunday?
But you keep doing it because you think you have to.
How about planning your marketing calendar? Let me guess… You can never find the time.
As 2020 quickly approaches, it’s time to review 2019’s pits and cherries and plan for 2020 with a bang!
What worked (cherry) and what didn’t (pit)?
What did you love selling?
What task or product did you hate spending time on?
What made the most money?
What was an epic failure?
On today’s episode of Profitable Mindset Podcast, I discuss your business plan and ways you can make more money in 2020.
Throughout the summer business series on the podcast, I’ve been walking you through everything it takes to build a profitable and sustainable farm.
In episodes 37 - 50, we covered everything from what happens when you first start a farm, to creating a 10-year plan, to hiring and managing employees, to scaling your business and setting huge money goals.
This week, on episode 51, I'm wrapping up the series by focusing on how to reach those money goals.
When join me for this episode, you’ll learn:
The crucial mistake most farmers make when setting financial goals
The thought that holds everyone back, but isn't really a problem
The real reasons why you're not reaching your goals
The key marketing tactics that will blow up your business
Plus, I’m walking you through an exercise you can do right now to see what’s really holding you back.
When you take the time to do this exercise, it will transform how you see yourself and your business and it will make it so much easier to figure out your next steps toward reaching your goal.
I absolutely believe you can set AND reach your big money goals. If you’re ready to learn how, listen to episode 51 of The Profitable Mindset podcast now!
Much love,

7 steps to Finding Customers on Instagram
00:32:47
Ever want someone to tell you exactly what you need to be doing on Instagram and nothing more?
Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could cut through the clutter of what’s working and what’s not and give it to you — plain and simple.
With so much advice out there, it’s hard to determine what you really need and what is a “bell or whistle.”
Today on the Profitable Mindset Podcast, I cut to the chase and give you the 7 Steps to Finding Customers on Instagram.
Farmers are sending one email and making $2,000…before, they struggled to sell anything.
Or sending one email and making $25,000.
Yes. In ONE day. Because they're doing this work and getting the support they need.
Farmer Sarah made $100,000 in sales in ONE WEEK.
It used to take her all year.
Look, it's hard work, and it's simple too.
I've laid it all out for you.
Picture this…. Your 30 head of beef gets sold in a week…. No more endless posting on social media, cold emailing, and struggling to move them.
Imagine how the rest of your year will go when it’s all done!
You can be just like Sarah, too.
Many farmers in the program email me daily with results like this.
They're having success they never thought imaginable.
Here’s what’s inside the 5X Program:
Expert group coaching with me weekly
2 private 1-on-1 coaching sessions for the year with our 1-1 coaches
Access to all exclusive classes I teach: Farm Marketing from the Heart Sales Made Simple Master Your Time/Master Your Life And - goal setting, decision making, business marketing planning, and more
If I could help you get anything you want on your farm, what would that be?
MOST people say time and money... not necessarily in that order.
Listen Above For Your 2024 Business Marketing Plan
What most farmers usually DON'T tell me is they need more fulfillment.
But too many farmers contact me for help because they've figured out how to make money in their business...
...but their farm also sucked all of the joy out of them.
In Episode 192 of the Profitable Mindset Podcast, I show you how to build a farm business that you enjoy working in.
Now THAT is sustainable!
Answer the questions in the episode and by the end, your mind will be blown by the clarity you'll start to see and feel.
The first question will guide you through some data that is really crucial to know - and easy to find.
I tell you exactly where to find this data that you'll need to make informed decisions, so you can stop guessing or hoping.
The next couple questions will tell you exactly what you need to focus on for 2024 and what your projected income is AND what to focus on to get there.
You'll have a roadmap for what to say yes to and what to say no to with great confidence.
Combine these answers with episode 190 and 191, part 1 & 2, and you'll be armed with everything you need to make 2024 your most successful year yet - financially AND for the highest quality of life.
It's crucial that you not only build a profitable farm, but also that you build a farm that you feel fulfilled running and owning.
It's not sustainable to build a farm that makes money but you're not enjoying getting up and going to work every day.
It takes conscientious intentional effort to build a business you LOVE and it makes money.
And THIS podcast episode is the roadmap to making that happen.
See you inside,

If Your Husband Makes You Angry or Frustrated, This Process Will Help
Last week, three farmers in a row came to me for help with the same problem.
One farmer was vaccinating sheep with her husband, she didn’t shut the gate fast enough and a ewe got through.
Her husband yelled and was making her extremely anxious. Another’s husband made her super frustrated when he went to make a delivery and forgot a couple of people's orders. Again.
The third farmer's husband made her anxious and guilty while they were doctoring an injured cow.
Farmers show up to our coaching calls knowing I will help them.
They want me to help them NOT feel frustrated, angry or anxious.
And I do.
But not in the way you or they expect.
The coaching I offer them always surprises them.
They come wanting to figure out how to get their husbands to stop making them feel so bad.
And I for sure help them to do that - but it is 180° from what you’re thinking will happen.
Listen to today’s episode, #96, to hear how to finally stop being triggered by your spouse or partner on the farm.

#123: The Crucial First Step to Creating More Time in our Busy Farm Days
Most of us consider time to be our most valuable asset.
Our 24 hours in a day is so precious!
But here's what I know to be true -
*I teach you how to create more money.
*I teach you how to get all the customers you want
**But I can't teach you how to make more hours in the day than the 24 we're all given.
But I CAN teach you how to create more time in the 24 hrs you already have by making a few subtle but powerful shifts.
Click the play button above to learn the first step to getting way more peace AND productivity in your 24 hours
I don't mean that you're going to do more - I'm not telling you that you have to be more productive.
Chances are you're already running on all cylinders - me telling you to "just do more" is NOT going to help.
Instead, you're going to learn to shift the way you think about time.
You'll learn to create a new way of thinking about the time you do have that will free up hours.
I will teach you the first steps in learning the skill of managing your time differently in your mind - in a way that serves you instead of overwhelms you.
Based on my experience coaching hundreds of farmers, when you learn the skill of managing your mind around time, you'll free up 2-4 hours per day.
Today's podcast is step one.
When you stick with me and learn to Master Your Time & Master Your Life, you'll get more done PLUS have time set aside daily for your own personal care.
I know!! That's a new concept for most people - daily time for ME???
Because you can't create more hours in a day, it is crucial you learn this first step of getting MORE out of the hours you do have - MORE accomplished and produced and more rest time.
Click the play button above to learn to create more time in your day.
There are two most common problem farmers start coaching with me to solve.
You're not making enough money.
You're struggling with overwhelm - not having enough time or money or resources so things aren't getting done.
Some tell me they're hemorrhaging money!
Yet you can't afford to hire help to lessen the overwhelm.
And part of the problem is, you just aren't charging enough to make it all worth it.
Our family farms usually don't have the economy of scale that the industrial farms have, so we have to charge more than the grocery store, for instance, to make a profit.
Yet most don't.
And when I ask why not - you have a multitude of reasons, probably all the ones you'll hear on the podcast today!
Before you can successfully raise your prices, you've got to know why you're not raising your prices - otherwise, your biggest fear will come true - that you'll lose customers.
I go over all of this, in detail, in this week’s podcast episode.
The 4 Steps I teach in today's episode will help you gain the confidence to raise your prices and NOT lose customers.
I teach you how.
Listen to this week's episode to learn.

#122: How Expecting Others to Act a Certain Way Keeps You Stuck - and How to Fix This
Many farmers move through their days disappointed by others' actions or lack of actions.
In my farmer coaching group, farmers show up frustrated with thoughts like - "my husband should be supporting me in quitting my job."
Or, maybe your farm partners don't want to work as hard as you think they should.
And since farming and personal life are often intertwined, even personal expectations stop you up, such as - "my ex should be keeping me informed of the kids' activities."
The problem you create for yourself is - when you feel disappointed or frustrated others aren't doing what you want, you keep yourself stuck NOT doing the things in your business you need to move ahead.
Soon, you're not only feeling terrible, disappointed, frustrated - now you're not making money.
This compounds the negative feelings - now you're feeling stressed and anxious about your sales or lack of income.
Even if the thing you expect the other person to do is logical and rational, they still may not do it (because they're autonomous adults with agency).
You're thinking some version of, "people aren't doing what they're supposed to and we're not making money."
But there IS a solution - and it all lies within your ability to shift your mindset.
Mindset coaching teaches you how to shift your thoughts from what's NOT working to thoughts that create successful, profitable results.
Today's episode of the Profitable Mindset Podcast will teach you how to start shifting from un-useful/unproductive thoughts that keep you stuck not making money...
...to thoughts that will drive the actions needed to build your profitable farm.
Click the link above to start creating successful results.

How to Lose Everything on Your Farm and Still Come out Ahead!
Robert is a 19 year old college student, living at home, building his farm.
And he paid to be in my program BEFORE he told his parents.
He’s so glad he did.
Last month, he just made $7,000 in one week with his 5 day sales launch I teach farmers how to do.
Whoa! What college kid is making tens of thousands of dollars in his own business while studying in school?
And isn’t it fascinating that the reason he’s in college is at his parent’s request because they don’t think he can make a living farming.
Yet, he already is.
It’s not luck. He didn’t start out profitable. He’s learned how to make money on his farm since joining my coaching program last August.
I asked him why he was drawn to this work since most 19-year-olds are off doing other things, not typically personal development.
He said like most farmers, he thought he needed to work harder to make more money.
But that wasn’t working for him. He couldn’t possibly squeeze out any more hours, but he couldn’t see how to make more money unless he found more than 24 hours in a day.
Listening to my podcast, week after week, Robert heard me talk about this exact problem farmers need to solve if they want to get profitable.
Working hard to make money gets your farm only so far. About $50K to 250K in sales, most farmers realize they’re working ALL the time and taking home very little, if any, money.
Working harder will not build a profitable, sustainable farm.
Instead, my clients learn what does work.
You’ve got to go inside and do the harder work of building your brain.
You’ve heard the phrase - “work smarter, not harder.”
It’s 100% true if you want to move your farm beyond where you are right now.
Robert, at age 19, was fully aware he could not physically exert any more energy, but he wasn’t where he wanted to be financially.
So he knew there must be a way to do this - he heard about client after client in the 5X Program doing it.
So he took the risk, paid the fee, joined my 5x program, and has worked smarter ever since.
And he’s making money on his farm. As a full-time college student.
You’re going to love our talk.
In my 5X Facebook group of hundreds of farmers, Robert is everyone’s inspiration.
Listen to our conversation and you'll be inspired, too.
Then - plan on joining Robert when the 5X program opens up in May.
Whether you’re 19, or 80, or anywhere in between - you’ll learn the skills to make money on your farm.

#207: How I Hit the Ground Running with a Sold-Out Farm from Day One
It’s crucial that you learn marketing from people who’ve created long-term success with it.
There are no ‘make money fast’ schemes out there that work.
Oh, there are plenty of people trying to sell you one!
But from years of experience with thousands of farmers, I know that you can’t spend enough money to compensate for not learning marketing.
By that, I mean you won’t successfully spend enough money hiring someone to do your marketing to get profitable.
You can’t spend enough money on FB ads to make yourself profitable.
Nothing will build your profitable farm without you learning marketing. So, if you’ve got to learn it, it might as well be fun and fulfilling.
Today, on the Profitable Mindset Podcast, I’m in the hot seat answering Jonathan Kilpatrick’s burning questions about our marketing workshop I taught in Minnesota.
Hear how I used the marketing skills I teach farmers to create my own successful, profitable farm.
Hear about the ‘cash cows’ farmers are building today using the same foundational principles.
Tune in and learn several things, including:
The one task you can do each week to build loyalty and connection
How to build trust with people online so they’ll buy from you consistently
The number one way to build SEO on your website - and it’s NOT by hiring expensive SEO consultants or programs
It’s crucial that you learn to market your farm products. There’s no fast or easy way to do it!
If there was a fast, easy way… you know everyone would be doing it successfully. The fact that learning is “hard” weeds out those who are not willing to do hard things.
But that’s not you, insert first name here.
I set up my marketing a year before I brought my first cow home, so I hit the ground running and was sold out the day I opened for sales.
Now I teach farmers to do the same.
Listen TODAY and learn.

Charlotte

Plus, I’m sharing real-life examples from our farm and ideas you can use to start marketing your products or services today.

Get on the waitlist for 5X Your Farm Sales: charlottemsmith.com/waitlist
Last week a farmer came to our weekly coaching call in 5X Your Farm Sales super frustrated at all the messes around her farm.
This bugs her all the time.
Spools of wire left on the ground after fence-fixing, hay not raked up correctly after feeding, half-finished projects - all of this constant clutter was making her feel angry and frustrated.
Living in this constant state of frustration makes her snappy with people around her.
Feeling angry about it makes her unhappy throughout her days.
She can't problem solve to get messes cleaned up when she's making herself frustrated.
And she's not alone - this comes up frequently in our coaching group.
THAT'S where we've gotta start in getting you to more success.
We've got to start with cleaning up your mind in how you're thinking about all that's going on around your farm.
I want you to really hear that - you can't get the messes cleaned up and organized when you're keeping yourself frustrated over them.
Sure, you can yell louder one day and everyone gets into gear (uh oh, she means business today) and they'll pick up.
But the messes start piling back up shortly.
Because these constant states of overwhelm, anxiety, anger, frustration are keeping you from enjoying your day.
AND this constant negative emotion stops you from making money.
Hear that - you can't make money, you can't build a profitable farm, when you're feeling angry, resentful, anxious, overwhelmed - or any of the other bad feelings.
And that's something we solve for daily coaching in 5X Your Farm Sales AND here on the podcast.
Tune in to Episode 97 where I show you how to finally free yourself from feeling terrible by shifting just one thing in your life.
It's simple. Notice - I'm not saying it's easy - but it IS simple.
Then, with practice in the coaching group, it gets easy.
My clients in my coaching program are finally learning how to feel good throughout their days no matter what extraordinary circumstances are going on - no matter who left what mess lying around.
They're learning to solve for their bad feelings AND subsequently figure out how to get the place cleaned up AND THEN they can make money.
Click HERE to listen to Episode 97 and learn how to feel free, in control, just by shifting your mindset AND THEN... success follows.

#114: The Biggest & Most Costly Mistakes Farmers Make in their Marketing
Now is the time for you to step up and be powerful in this world and make your farm profitable so you can be in it for the long run.
There are so many lives to be changed with your products and events.
What steals your success and keeps you from having the impact you want to have are decisions made from non-productive thoughts about your ability to market and your marketing.
Most of you create your marketing from non-useful thoughts like - it “will be easier to sell...”
With sales and discounts
Cheaper prices
If I find the right person to do my marketing
Lots of variety of products and bundles of products
Multiple offers in your newsletters for them to buy a variety of products/services
Or, you ask people what they want to buy and you decide what you’ll raise/grow/sell based on that
You choose your prices based on your “worth,” mistaking personal value with business value.
These un-useful/unproductive thoughts cause you to create unproductive marketing that doesn’t connect or sell.
Your farm is struggling.
So then you think you need to change website platforms, you think you need to add or change to a different breed or variety, causing even more money outflow and loss.
You soon don’t make enough sales of anything to get to profit.
I am coaching you to find your un-useful thoughts and change them, one negative thought at a time.
3 days with me coaching you on the mindset and strategy of irresistible marketing.
This is a taste of what we do DAILY inside 5X Your Farm Sales - a free 3 days to help you decide on committing to changing your mindset, your marketing, and your bank account.
In my conversation with Scott Shepherd this week we go very deep into the subjects of marketing and mindset and how you can't have a successful, profitable farm with ease without mastery of your mindset.
You'll walk away from this episode with a lot of knowledge but also feeling super inspired and confident.
There are many gems you can start incorporating into your business:
the key to raising your prices with ease and not losing customers
how to insure people will buy no matter how much you charge
how to overcome shame and that "not good enough" feeling that show up when you try to make big decisions
how to overcome feeling guilty for charging a higher than average price
the one thing your business needs from you to be successful.
The key to building connection even if you don't meet people in person
Our conversation will inspire you to finally stop playing small in your life and on your farm and decide to overcome all obstacles you thought were keeping you stuck.
Here's a text I got from a listener this morning: "Charlotte helps you identify your personal limits and finally move beyond them."
Listen to Episode 109 and level up your life now.
Warmly,
Charlotte
PS: Get to know Scott Shepherd and follow his podcast HERE.
To raise our prices and actually show a profit at the end of the year…
Most people think it’s about a new strategy or tactic that will get you where you want to be, but in reality, it’s your thought process and level of confidence that’ll be the game-changer.
It's your responsibility to learn to create self-confidence inside - and I can teach you how to do that in this episode. It's not as hard as you might have thought!
In today’s episode of Profitable Mindset podcast, you’ll learn what thought process you need to have when starting or advancing your profitable farm business and how to generate consistent self confidence so you can accomplish all you want.
What I know to be true after working with hundreds of farmers, is the thingbetween you andthe money you want to make is your marketing written in a way that connects and creates desire to buy.
The amount of sales you make is a direct result of your marketing.
And marketing that makes sales with ease starts with your thoughts about it.
Click HERE to clean up your mindset around marketing.
So what is your mindset around your marketing...?
Most farmers first come to me and they think their marketing needs to be better, shouldn’t be so difficult, isn’t good enough - and THESE very thoughts prevent them from putting out good marketing.
And many farmers struggle to get out any marketing.
You want to learn the skill of having useful and productive thoughts about your marketing.
You want to have amazing thoughts about your marketing.
How do you know you have amazing thoughts about your marketing?
Do you know your financial success on your farm cannot outpace your personal growth?
To put it another way, if you're not happy with the amount of sales or the money, or profit you're making in your business, you've got to work on your mind to improve those results.
Many farmers have success at first but then they plateau.
That plateau is feedback you've got to take the next step and work on yourself, not on the website or infrastructure or hiring or expanding.
It's not the external circumstances that will get you to success - it's self-awareness of how your thoughts are causing you to struggle and then how to shift them to be more useful.
This may sound easy - but like most really worthwhile endeavors, it's not.
But it IS the solution to building a profitable farm - whatever that looks like to you.
Some farmers have very small operations and just want to pay their expenses and maybe have some spending money left over for family fun.
Other farmers are trying to make a living solely from farming.
Wherever you fall on the spectrum, the process is the same.
You've got to get your thoughts, emotions and actions in order and in alignment to be able to create the results you want.
That result may be a specific dollar amount in the bank or some other measurable goal.
Today's podcast episode will get you on your way.

Before she met me, this was all just an idea and a dream.

So she joined my coaching program to gain the skills to make her dreams reality.
I love that I get to introduce you to all sorts of different kinds of farms on this podcast.
The one thing they have in common?
At some point, they realized that to make their dreams come true, they had to learn how to market and sell so they could be in business for the long haul, giving back to their communities just like Brandy.

How This Farmer Went From Overwhelmed and Broke to Fulfilling Her Dreams
On New Year's Eve 2021 Arlene found her freezer full of hogs and the new hogs were headed to the butcher.
She needed space.
She needed them SOLD and gone.
She'd been in my program for a while, she had her email marketing in place, and had learned to nurture her list.
But hadn't been focused on talking about hogs, so was hoping to at least sell a half-hog and free up even a tiny bit of space.
She put together a quick email to send before her NYE gathering and forgot about it.
Imagine her surprise after midnight when she decided to check on the email before going to bed - tears rolled down her cheeks when she realized she sold every last hog!
Click the play button and listen to the whole story!
Selling out with one email gives her even more confidence knowing she can sell every last thing on her farm - just by changing her thoughts. By intentionally practicing thoughts that serve her by driving the action of making sales.
She and her husband are finally making money and now feel blessed to be spending time building their dreams instead of just trying to make ends meet.
She used to have to juggle the bills and decide which she should pay this month and which she could put off till next month.
Now, life has become so fulfilling for their family - "I'm very aware how much I'm changing customers' lives by what we're doing."
"We're giving life to our community, our people."
"Our local farm community has seen us become profitable and they're asking us what are we doing - how did we become profitable? And they're seeing hope that they, too, can learn mindsets that will get them to profit."
Arlene says, "I'm an example of what's possible to all the farmers around us! I'm giving them hope there's a better way."
"Now I've created so much demand through using your marketing mindsets and strategies that I have to get coached on the new problem of finally making money and dealing with all this success!"

#193: How This Farmer Got To Profit in Three Years
00:48:54
Like many farmers, Melissa Marks homeschools her 6 kids and runs their farm including attending farmers markets in the growing season.
Unlike most farmers, however, Melissa’s days are very intentional, thoughtful, well-planned, and the whole family stops every Thursday at 4 PM for a volleyball game.
Listen to Melissa’s full story on the Profitable Mindset Podcast today.
She learned how to create this beautifully orchestrated life using the strategies, coaching, and classes I teach in 5x Your Farm sales, my signature year-long coaching program now home to 270+ farmers.
Before starting coaching with us, Melissa was overwhelmed, overscheduled and overworked.
She knew from listening to my podcast that if she tried to grow her farm business while still overwhelmed, she would just grow the overwhelm, NOT any profit. She really took note when I said if you grow your farm business, you grow your 3 biggest problems.
She knew her big problems were overwhelm, lack of time management and marketing skills.
She joined the 5x program about a year and a half ago, calmed her life down, and now is delighted and fulfilled with what she’s created.
Their sales have doubled.
They’ve raised their prices several times and are now making money.
They continue to have money to invest in infrastructure.
Her 20 year marriage has never been better - Melissa is now truly best friends with her husband. Something she thought was only social-media hype when she saw other women posting about “he’s my best friend.”
Listen to her success story on the podcast today.
5x Your Farm Sales opens for registration on January 15th.
Don’t take just my word for it - please listen to Melissa’s testimony and see how this is possible for you, too.
From Melissa:
“The 5x Coaching Program is the best money I’ve spent, ever.
This program WILL change your life.
As long as you’re willing to invest time listening to the coaching calls each week, conveniently on a private podcast, you can’t help but to start to implement things.
It’s hard work, but it becomes easy to follow through when you start seeing what a difference it makes in your life, your family’s lives, and your farm business.
There’s no better way to spend our money every year.
I could never NOT be in this coaching program growing my mind and improving our family and business."
Be Inspired by Melissa on the podcast today.
Happy New Year and let me help you make ‘24 your best year yet.
Warm Hugs,
Charlotte

This podcast series is all about taking steps to get started and how to set up your farm (the right way) from the beginning.
It took me years to narrow down these steps and over the last few episodes, I’ve been sharing what I’ve learned over the past 10 years.
If I had to do it all over again, I’d follow these steps in the exact order I lay out so you exactly what to focus on and why.
Without further ado, episode 4 of the Profitable Mindset is waiting for you now.

One thing you might not know about me - I'm a super-nerd for all things planning!
I've learned by experience that only when I plan - do I reach huge goals. Goals I thought were impossible - until I planned them and followed that plan.
I'm teaching you one of the processes I use to plan each year - today is part 2.
If you’re already starting to dream and plan for 2021, this will help you know what to focus on that will get you the best results.
Even if you already have a plan in place, or if you’re just getting started, you’ll want to take some time to listen to episode 59, and implement the steps to help you plan for your most profitable year in business.
When you join me, you’ll learn:
The one goal you need to set in order to have your most profitable year (most people skip this step)
What you can do to reach more success (with ease/not stress)
How to let go of things you don't love doing anymore (but feel pressured to do)
A crucial step to include in your plan in order to ensure you’re building a business you love
Plus, I’m sharing tips to help you free up your energy and time as you increase your profits!

"Branding."
It stops up many a farmer!
Usually, they fall into one of two camps:
