08 Feb 2023Solo Episode: Turns Out You Can't Be Friends With Your Ex00:38:11

Today I recap a call I had with my ex-boyfriend from 6 years ago, my trip to NY and what the differences are between NY and LA. Then I get into the meat of the episode where we discuss how I learned I can no longer be friends with my ex. Hopefully further down the line when we both have partners we can be friends, but it's not in the cards for me right now.

(16:00 mark) Reasons why you can’t be friends with your ex:

There are a multitude but here are some that I boiled it down to in this episode.

  1. Energetically, you have to let go of stale old energy to let new energy in.
  2. Someone always gets hurt. 1 person moves on first; that’s just the laws of the land. Allowing someone access to you while they’re entertaining other options just hurts your heart. .
  3. It prolongs your healing process and healing journey. You have to experience being alone to grow in dating. If you’re leaning on an old relationship that is no longer serving you, that is just prolonging your ability to move forward.
  4. Would you date someone who was still talking to their ex? Don’t be that person. It just looks messy and confusing if you’re going on dates not being the most evolved version of yourself.

On today's episode, I interview myself. I finally sat down to record a solo pod and am sharing that I recently broke up with my partner, what I'm focused on now, and what I've learned through my decade of dating.

3 Lessons that I hope you take from this episode:

  1. Never Settle
  2. The minute you start loving yourself is the same time that you attract people who see the same things in you. Do not settle for anyone who does not see your greatness.
  3. Live in and enjoy the present moment. The anxiety feels scary; all of the unknown. But if I told you everything that was going to happen in your life, why would life even be worth living?

24 Apr 2024Why It's All Happening For You, Not To You with Sami Spalter01:02:01

Today's guest gets deeply personal with me; FORM co-founder Sami Spalter opens up about her weight loss journey, and how she has lost over 80 pounds!

She came on to share the lessons she's learned about herself, her self-worth, and her health along the way. Sami's journey with self work also led her to her husband, Andrew, and she shares how she makes time for herself in order to be the best partner to him.

We speak about how she's had to navigate grief and loss after unexpectedly losing her mother this year, and how that experience has shaped her perspective on life. Sami offers a unique and inspiring take on the age-old question of why bad things happen, arguing that everything unfolds for you, not to you.
