03 Feb 2022Tips for Better Podcast Audio Quality with Lisa Zawrotny00:35:47

I have noticed a severe decline in podcast audio quality recently and it’s frustrating to listen to. In fact, many times I have had to stop listening to the episode due to poor quality audio. Today, I wanted to mix it up a bit and bring on a client who does have high quality audio for her own podcast; both for her and her guests. Lisa Zawrotny is back on the podcast to talk about that this week. Episode 34 of Listeners to Leads is about getting better quality audio!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, Lisa, Jessica and I are sharing the importance of  preparation before a podcast interview and actionable steps you can take right now to have better audio quality on your next podcast interview.

Lisa, Jessica, and I also chat about the following:

  • Reducing background distractions and how to set boundaries so these distractions stay away while recording.
  • How to vet your guests for both gear and audio quality before recording day, but also for quality and similar interests in quality content.
  • How best to automate your systems to create a better process and sound quality while not spending more time on it.
  • Managing expectations and setting boundaries around your quality and mission to get your message out there.

Good quality podcasting is more than just audio - but audio can make a huge impact on both the value of the show itself and the conversion of listeners from one episode to others.

Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on turning your podcast listeners into leads and to hear even more about the points outlined above.

10 Feb 2022Unique Podcast Marketing Tips with Alex Sanfilippo00:27:51

Have you ever felt pressure to do what everyone else is doing for marketing? Like reels, for example? So did Alex Sanfilippo; in fact, when his marketing team came to him and tried to convince him to post reels as a marketing strategy for his show, he turned it down. After a little digging into where his audience was coming from, he found that the majority came from a different platform altogether. He’s leaned into unique marketing ideas to grow his show instead and it’s paying off. This week, episode 35 of Listeners to Leads is about unique ways to market your show with Alex Sanfilippo!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, Alex Sanfilippo is sharing the importance of leaning into what you love and actionable steps you can take right now to show up uniquely when marketing your podcast.

Alex and I also chat about the following:

  • What is Podcast SOP and why the people who need it most are likely the podcasters who don’t understand what the acronym “SOP” means.
  • How PodMatch, the tinder for podcast hosts and guests to connect, can help streamline and shorten the process of finding high quality guests for your show.
  • How leaning into your personality and what you enjoy doing is better than following trends; and how it helped Alex determine he doesn’t want to do Reels for marketing his show.
  • How leaning into your community and those around you can help leverage your marketing strategy as well.

Ultimately, the power of leaning into what you already love doing and finding interest in can help elevate your marketing strategy. So “get different”.

Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on turning your podcast listeners into leads and to hear even more about the points outlined above.

17 Feb 2022How to Choose a Podcast Format00:21:46

When I work with new launch clients I often get asked what format their show should be in, and usually my answer is “it depends,”. However, today I want to help you figure out the format of your show through sharing personal experiences that either I have had or my clients have had to help you decide which format makes the most sense for you. This week, episode 36 of Listeners to Leads is about how to pick a podcast format!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, I’m sharing the importance of understanding your own boundaries as well as your show’s unique personality and actionable steps you can take right now to be confident in your format choices for your podcast.

I also chat about the following:

  • Picking a format; from solo to guest, and even co-hosted, the format of the episode style should be the first thing you decide on when it comes to the format of your overall show.
  • Why the length of your show matters; how understanding who your audience is and your own ability to get your point across in a concise manner helps you figure out the length of your show.
  • The importance of understanding your own capacity for creating new content to help facilitate the production timing of your show.
  • What podcast seasons are, and how you can categorize your seasons based on theme or timeframe, depending on your show’s personality and needs.

There is no right or wrong way to produce your show when it comes to formatting your podcast episodes and style; it really does depend on you, your audience, and your production needs. This episode will allow you the opportunity to explore options and imagine how each type and style may work for you and your own show.

15 Apr 2022Your Mental Health is More Important than a Podcast00:45:54

There is nothing more important than your mental health, not your projects, your career, your relationships, nothing. This week, on a special bonus episode of Listeners to Leads, we’re talking about your mental health being more important than your productivity.

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, my guest Lisa Zawrotny and I share the trends we are seeing with clients being urged towards byrnout, despite accepting the “freedom from the hustle” mindset and reminding you that your wellbeing always comes first.

Lisa and I also chat about the following:

  • The trends we are seeing that are leading to burnout, the reasons behind these trends, and how to protect yourself from them.
  • That initial energetic exchange you have with someone, either as a coach or a client, is going to set the precedent for the type of relationship you have with that person.
  • Avoiding the comparison trap by figuring out and sticking to what works for you.
  • Understanding that rest is just as productive as anything else and your value is not determined by the amount you do.
  • Self-care is more than taking a spa day; it is setting boundaries and maintaining a lifestyle that keeps burnout at bay.

I want you to dream big, to create, and to love what you do, but in the end, you HAVE to prioritize you and that means acknowledging what you need and protecting it.

21 Apr 2022Leaning into Your Calling with Barb Nangle00:37:54

Barb Nangle started her podcasting journey around a desire to read for audio books, only to change lives and build up over 150 episodes on lessons she’s learned through her recovery journey. When it comes to her process and journey, Barb hasn’t ever struggled with what to talk about, what to share, or when to show up because she’s found a way that works for her. This week, episode 45 of Listeners to Leads is about leaning into your desires and showing up authentically passionate!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, Barb Nangle is sharing the importance of showing up genuinely you and actionable steps you can take right now to never run out of content ideas.

Barb and I also chat about the following:

  • How Barb went from not knowing if she could produce 100 episodes, to successfully producing over 150 episodes and no hesitation when it comes to finding content.
  • Why Barb didn’t have any trouble at all figuring out who her listeners are and how to talk to them, and how to better understand your own listenership for yourself.
  • The one caveat to being authentic and how Barb and Alesia both suggest you show up authentically and genuinely passionate every week.
  • What to do with that built up deep desire to do something different, as well as why you may be called to do that thing, no matter how out of your comfort zone or the norm it may be.

28 Apr 202210 Ways to Support Other Podcasters00:17:09

When it comes to supporting other podcasters, I am obsessed with it and I know it can be a tricky subject to broach. How do we support other podcasters without spending an arm and a leg? I got the idea to share a podcast with 10 free or cheap ways to support other podcasters because we got a voice DM on Instagram raving about our show, and how much value someone found it. You’ll get to hear the raw, unedited voice memo in this episode too! This week, episode 45 of Listeners to Leads is about 10 ways to support other podcasters!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, I’m sharing the importance of supporting other podcasters and actionable steps you can take right now to spend little to no money but support them in big ways.

I also chat about the following ways to support other podcasters:

  • The power in sending a Voice Memo DM; like the one sent in by the host of the Wildly Successful Law Firm Podcast!
  • Vote for their podcast if they are nominated for an award, or nominate them for an award if you think they deserve it!
  • Shout them out in the communities that either they occupy or that you are in when you see the need for their services or know an episode that can answer someone’s questions.
  • Support them financially; there are so many options here that it’s best to check with them to see how they’d prefer to be supported monetarily.
  • Use their affiliate links or codes when they recommend something that you want to purchase or need.

Your challenge is to take one of these ten ways to support fellow podcasters and make magic by sharing, connecting, monetarily supporting, or some other way of showing up for them and supporting them! Send me a DM on Instagram with what you did and to which podcast; I would love to check them out too!

I know that many of you don’t launch a podcast because of the lack of technical support, education around podcast software, and the overwhelm that comes when you start doing so much research around starting a podcast. I want to help be your technical support throughout your first launch! This week, episode 49 of Listeners to Leads is about the tech side of launching a podcast!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, I’m sharing the importance of your software choices and actionable steps you can take right now to make your podcast launch sound the best with as little stress as possible.

I also chat about the following:

  • The software I use and recommend to anyone going through a launch; and software that I don’t use but think you could also find useful.
  • The concept phase of launching your podcast, including following my launch plan checklist along with all the steps, the tech solutions I have for you.
  • Why I use the equipment I use, and what I recommend you get for a microphone, headphones, and more.
  • What tools you need throughout the entirety of the planning phases of your podcast, and some fun tips to get better audio quality using free platforms like Zoom.

Launching a podcast is fun - that’s why I do it for a living - but many podcasters get hung up on the launch phase because they are overwhelmed with options and not enough education around software, equipment, and more. This episode will help make sense of the chaos.

Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on turning your podcast listeners into leads and to hear even more about the points outlined above.

23 Jun 2022Going Deep (Instead of Wide) With Your Podcast Content00:16:27

Whether you are currently not sure what else there is to say on your show, and you’re not sure what other topics or conversations you can have, or if you are currently mapping out your future content on a show that’s just starting - it’s important to go deep with your content. I am currently going through this myself with my content. I feel like I am referencing past episodes and as I have -generally- said all I can say about podcasting. So I am here with you. This week, episode 53 of Listeners to Leads is about why you should go deep, instead of wide, with your podcast content!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, I’m sharing the importance of spending more time on topics and actionable steps you can take right now to take your podcast to the next level when you don’t feel like you have anything else to talk about. It cannot be understated that the value you get when you go deeper with your topics, instead of taking a wider range of topics all over the place in your podcast. Lastly, I also share how to break down the content you’ve already created to make more episodes or other valuable content for your audience, using my own podcast strategy.

This episode will show you that you have enough content already to make more content, without having to expand your content buckets or change your podcast theme.

05 Jan 2023Three Ways to Repurpose Podcast Content00:17:19

As business owners and podcasters, we are busy, and everything on our plate can add up and feel overwhelming. It is super important to repurpose the content we’ve put time and effort into so that we can work smarter, not harder. This week, episode 81 of Listeners to Leads is aboutthree ways to repurpose podcast content!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, I’m sharing examples of ways I have in the past and am planning in the future to repurpose the content I’ve already put in the work creating and how you can steal my ideas and do the same.

The three ways I cover that you can use to repurpose your podcast content are:

  1. Repurposing your podcast content into social content (& ideas to get you started).
  2. Turn your content into more episodes by going deeper with your topics.
  3. Use your podcast episodes to create supplemental content for your clients, audience, membership, and course participants.

You’re already putting so much time, money, and effort into creating content for your podcast, so you may as well make the most of it and reduce your mental load in the process.

Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on turning your podcast listeners into leads and to hear even more about the points outlined above.

Thank you for listening! If you enjoyed this episode, take a screenshot of the episode to post in your stories and tag me!  And don’t forget to follow, rate and review the podcast and tell me your key takeaways!
