After Ryerson she went on to play professionally in Sweden. Lauren will return to Ryerson/TMU this season to continue her education and finish her USports career.

One of the best personalities in our sport, Steve Delaney joins the show! Steve grew up playing for West Side Volleyball Club before joining the Toronto Ruffriders at a young age. Steve would leave Ontario to attend the University of Winnipeg before playing pro in Finland and France. After playing pro indoors Steve would play pro beach on the FIVB, AVP, and Labatt Tours. Steve started his coaching career with the Halton Hurricanes where he helped the team win a Provincial and National Championship. He is now the current Head Coach of the Brock University Women's Volleyball Team. The Badgers won an OUA Silver Medal and earned a birth to Nationals before Covid cancelled the season.

Julia Murmann & Kat Georgiadis are teammates on the Leaside Volleyball Club 18U Team, Youth National Team and this summer will represent Canada again with the Junior National Team!

Julia Murmann is a defending 18U National Champion with Leaside and was last season's Nationals MVP. Julia will attend the University of Toronto next season. 

Kat represented Canada for the second season last summer. She was the starting libero on one of Canada's most successful youth teams finishing 2nd at the 2018 Girls NORCECA Continental Championship. Kat will attend Santa Clara next year.

Zeid Hamadeh joined the show to tell us about Pacific Elite Beach and all the exciting things they are up to.

Zeid started playing volleyball in the Ottawa area before moving to the GTA. After winning an 18U Ontario Championship with the Durham Attack. He then went on to play varsity for the Western University Mustangs and University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. Zeid is currently working towards his masters degree in genetics after he completing his degree in medical sciences at Western. On the beach he won the Ontario Summer Games in 2016. Zeid will represent Canada this season on the FIVB World Tour.

Megatron, Megan Nash joined the show to tell us about her career in the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA), University of Central Arkansas, and Loyola Marymount University. At Central Arkansas Megan won the Southland Conference Championship in 2017, Southland All-Academic First Team 2014 – 2017, 3x First Team All Conference Player, Southland Student-Athlete of the Year, 2x UCA Female Student-Athlete of the Year. After transferring to focus on beach at LMU, Megan won a West Coast Conference Title and was awarded WCC First Team All Conference. Megan has already represented Canada earning her first main draw appearance in China and a Bronze Medal on the Norceca Tour.

World Champion Melissa Humana-Paredes joins the show to walk us through her journey from being around high level beach volleyball her whole life to becoming one of the best players in the world. Melissa grew up watching her father coach Canadian Legends Mark Heese and John Child, while training at the Elite Beach Club where dozens of top Canadians were introduced to beach volleyball. 

Melissa and Sarah were named the 2019 FIVB Team of the Year 2019. USA National Team Libero Justine Wong-Orantes joins the show! Justine started playing club volleyball at age 6, is the youngest known player to ever earn a AAA CBVA rating, represented the USA at the Youth World Championships twice, won a National Championship, NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team, Two-time AVCA All-America First Team, and Female Athlete of the Year at Nebraska. With the National Team Justine has won the Best Digger at 2019 NORCECA Women's Continental Championship, named Best Libero at 2019 Pan American Cup and has won the Pan American Cup and FIVB Volleyball Nations League (Gold)

Kamila Haase grew up competing in Track and Field and Figure Skating. She made the change to volleyball in grade 11 and her career took off from there. Playing club for the Scarborough Titans, Kamila then made Team Ontario and the Youth National Team. Kamila attended McMaster where she was named to the OUA All Rookie Team and helped the Marauders win an OUA Gold and Silver medal during her career. Next season Kamila will be in Hungry playing for MÁV Előre Sport Club Hungaria.

Defending National Champion Simon Fecteau-Boutin finally joins the show! We have been asking Simon since the show started and are over the moon we finally got him! Simon lead us through his journey from growing up in Quebec, attending Limoilou and Laval, moving to Toronto to commit to beach full time, early travel stories and what he's looking forward to this season. 

Simon is a 2x National Champion, represented Canada over 30 times internationally, medalled on the Norceca Tour, and competed in the Toronto Pro Beach League for Galaxy Volleyball Club.

Grant O'Gorman has already accomplished so much in his young career. At only 26 Grant has represented Canada over 90 times internationally, earning 13 podium finishes including winning the Sydney 2 Star, Silver at the Edmonton 3 Star, and two (2) Youth World Championships Medals. Before joining the Canadian National Team Grant won several Provincial and National Championships on the beach and as an indoor player with the Crush Volleyball Club. Janelle Albert has accomplished so much in her young career. She is a provincial champion in the OVA, OCAA, and OUA. She is a National Champion in club, USports and an CCAA Bronze Medalist. Alberta Golden Bears Head Coach Brock Davidiuk joined the show to talk about the Can Am Holiday Showcase, the Golden Bears current season, his playing career, and how to train the setter.  

As a player Brock dominated Canadian Volleyball with back-to-back CCAA National Championships in 2002 and 2003, 2x First-All-Tournament Team at CCAA Nationals, CCAA Academic All-Canadian, CCAA Most Valuable Player of the National Championship, CCAA All-Canadian, CCAA Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year, 2005 Canada West and CIS Championships  second team Canada West all-star in 2004, first team all-star and CIS All-Canadian in 2005, MVP of the CIS Championship. Davidiuk competed for Canada from 2004-12 where he was named Captain. 

After playing Brock began coaching at U of Alberta where he assisted for legend Terry Danyluk before coming the Head Coach of the program. Brock has earned the reputation for being one of Canada's top setting coaches!

CCAA Player of the Year Sebastian Lethbridge returns to the Passin Dimes family, this time making his debut on Sharp Cuts. Seb has done it all, player of the year, OCAA Champion, every colour medal you can win at the CCAA, represented Canada on our Youth and FISU Games Teams, a great club career, winning Mr. Volleyball in London.

New Zealand Star Jason Lochhead joins the show to share his playing career, coaching career, golf game, and lots of great stories from the road. 

Jason played 116 FIVB events, earning 78 main draw results and 11 top 10 finishes. Jason and partner Kirk Pitman narrowly missed the Olympics as players before joining the coaching ranks and working with top teams from around the world. Jason started his coaching career with Vanuatu, before leading super best friend of the show Ben Saxton and Chaim Schalk to their best results as a team. Jason then joined one of the best teams in the world Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena. Jason still works with Phil and Nick while also coaching with Florida State.

Denmark Star Martin Trans joined us to talk about the beach volleyball system in Denmark, his career, their training group and some mental tips that have helped him improve so quickly. Martin represented Denmark six times at youth CEV events before going on the FIVB World Tour. He's finished in the Top 5 an impressive 9 times out of 14 events. Including winning the 2019 Continental Cup in Umag and a Silver Medal at the Tel Aviv 1 Star. Fun fact Martin's last 4 events have been with different partners from the Beach Volley Team Denmark. 9Man Superstar Justin Lam joins the show! Justin played indoor volleyball in high school with friend of the show Nate Ngo (episode 41)before playing at the University of California, Santa Cruz. McMaster Marauders Head Coach Dave Preston joined the show to discuss the program, culture, the Can Am Holiday Showcase, National Team and so much more!  With McMaster Dave won six consecutive conference titles, and nine in total! Since Dave joined McMaster they have competed at 12 U SPORTS Championships. MAC has won two silver and four bronze medals at the national championship tournament between 2013 and 2018. Dave has spent two years as the head coach of the Canadian Junior Men’s National Team. He was also an assistant coach for the Canadian Senior Men’s National Team that won a bronze medal at the 1999 Pan Am Games.   We hope you enjoyed this episode! Penn State Star Tori Gorrell joined us to to talk about club, recruiting, her time at Penn State, the early days of her Pro Career in Puerto Rico before the world hit pause. Women's National Team member Natasha Calkins joins the show! Natasha played for Santa Clara University before transferring to Florida State. Her pro career includes season's in Sweden, Austria, Finland and Turkey, including where she transferred Turkish clubs in the same season. This is a big one! Volleyball Legend Scott Koskie joined us to talk about his 13 year career with the National Team, being named captain for 6 of those seasons, his 10 year professional career in Spain, Austria, France, and Qatar, his career at the University of Manitoba where he won 2 National Championships, was a 3 time All-Canadian, National Player of the Year, and a University of Manitoba Athlete of the Year

Since retiring Scott has been inducted into the Manitoba Volleyball Hall of Fame, assistant coach with the University of Manitoba Bisons, assistant coach with the Women’s National Team from 2010-2015 and Head Coach for Junior Women’s National Team. Scott is currently the Provincial High Performance Coach for Volleyball Manitoba.

In 1995 Scott lead what may be the best CIS/USports team of all time! We get into the details of what it would take to earn that crown and who else is in the running.
