Can anyone remember the last time the Packers had 4-straight primetime games??? There's a LOT to be excited about for the Packers 2024 regular season schedule. Don't worry about the Jordan Love contract, it will get done. Best not to listen to what clowns have to say about contract negotiations...

There is no shortage of breakout candidates on this team. We go through a few we're keeping an eye on going into training camp, but when the youngest team in the league makes a deep playoff run, you're going to have plenty of guys that have breakout potential the following season.

After all the talk, film breakdowns, positional analysis, we are finally doing our own mock draft to see who might be around when the Packers are on the clock. What unexpected moves should Packers fans be prepared for? Gute is never fully predictable. Just when you think you are 100% certain that he wouldn't sign a free agent RB at the top of the market, he goes off and signs Josh Jacobs. When Gute says he would like to have 13 or 14 picks in this draft, I want to roll my eyes, but he just might do it. There hasn't been a GM better at drafting than Gutey over the past 2 -3 years. It may be a wild ride, but Gute knows where he's taking us... straight to NOLA.

Before this stretch of wins, we were talking about LaFleur's job being on the line if he didn't correct the ship. Of course, he was listening to the Packers Weekly Podcast and he took our advice to heart. At least that's what we choose to believe based on how they've turned things around since then. 

The most frustrating part about the losing streak was watching the offense look lost. We were all hoping to see the MLF offense run the way it should be, but we got an unrecognizable mess. 

Now it seems like an entirely different team is taking the field on offense. 

Jordan Love is progressing every single week. The play-calling looks flat out brilliant. AJ Dillon is running better, and the O-line looks like one of the best units in the league. 

We may never know what "shake things up" meant, but one thing is certain, MLF is behind the changes made and they are working. 

If LaFleur is able to lead this team to a playoff birth in the first year of Jordan Love starting, with the youngest offense in the league, give that man his much deserved Coach of the Year hardware.

Let us first pay our respects to Mark Murphy. It's hard to ask for someone to do a better job than he did over his time leading the Packers. Now the franchise he hands off to Ed Policy is in great financial shape and has its GM, Head Coach, and QB of the future. The storied tradition of the Green Bay Packers is safely in the hands of a Green Bay guy.  

Not sure the future of this franchise could be any brighter. .

It was a death of a thousand self-inflicted paper cuts, with no real egregious errors, just too many little mistakes that prevents a young team like the Green Bay Packers from pulling off the upset against the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers. If you've been watching every Packers game this season, you probably don't feel like you've been watching a playoff team. Even in their wins, they haven't looked overly impressive... That is until this win over the Lions on Thanksgiving. 

The Lions came into the game with an 8-2 record. Not many teams get to 8-2 by accident. As much as I'd like to treat the Lions like the poverty franchise they have been for so long, they are not that this season. 

Despite that, the Packers looked like the better team in an impressive win. 

So what now? 

Is the season a failure if they don't make the playoffs? 

What does that say about LaFleur, Love, Stenavich, and Gute?

The final (critical) piece to the 2024 Packers coaching staff has been added. Introducing new Strength and Conditioning Coach, Aaron Hill. Formerly Assistant S&C coach for the 49ers, Hill takes on the responsibility of keeping the hamstrings strong in Green Bay. He's been part of the team that has kept CMC healthy/strong after his string of injury issues with the Panthers. A player familiar to Packers fans, Kurt Benkert, has nothing but good things to say about Hill after his time in San Francisco. Hopefully he can step in to improve the soft tissue injuries. 

We're diving back into the Edge Rushers and Offensive Tackles in this episode. Focusing specifically more on day-2 guys that have characteristics the Packers historically have preferred. 

While it's fun to dream about our favorite players wearing the green and gold, some of them simply aren't "Gutey guys".

No doubt one of the stars of the show this year was Xavier Worthy, breaking the record for the fastest 40-yard time. Worthy was one of two WRs that met with the Packers at the Combine. The other was his Longhorn teammate Adonai Mitchell. Combine meetings don't necessarily mean a whole lot, but it's not nothing.

A dominant playoff win over the Cowboys probably has you asking yourself, "what is this Packers team actually capable of?".  It appears they are capable of scoring on anyone, and Joe Barry is motivated to save his job. 

Jordan Love posted the best QB rating in playoff history and is starting to make plays that have him looking like a top 5 QB already.  Is it really possible that Jordan Love could turn out to be BETTER than Rodgers?

Two weeks, two games, and joint practices with two different teams can lead to a wide range of outcomes. While the Packers didn't win every joint practice, or both preseason games, maybe they didn't need to win in order to come out of training camp prepared to beat the Bears in Week 1. After all, competition breeds success.

We're all too familiar with how the Packers have started the regular season since 2020. To say they've come out flat is an understatement. Sure, they've rebounded each time, even last season (before eventually imploding), but losing to the Bears Week-1 this season cannot be an option.  

So far Matt LaFleur seems to have navigated the offseason and training camp very well, and we think these joint practices might be part of the plan to end the streak of losing in Week-1.

After making a big splash in day-1 of free agency the Packers have cooled off on the open market in favor of re-signing some of their own guys. AJ Dillon was probably the biggest surprise, adding experience and depth to the RB room that is likely to have at least one rookie. 

On his way out, De'Vondre Campbell stirs up Packers fans on twitter with his explanation of why he didn't play better in 2022 and 2023. Some fans took this as a shot against the organization, but he was very clear, his shots were directed at select coaches (Joe Barry) only. He was clear about his appreciation for the organization and the fans. 

We're going deeper on this RB draft class. Don't sleep on it, there is a lot of talent in this class, and difference-makers will be available all the way through round-7.

The NFL and NFLPA are considering changes to the offseason that would include eliminating OTAs, and extending training camp. You have a franchise QB, a future LT and RT, playmakers on both sides of the ball, and as a bonus they all have playoff experience now. It may have been a disappointing end, but don't let that make you forget the overall success the season was. 

If that isn't enough, the GM might be the best in the league right now. The way he's drafted the past two years should make everyone very excited about the talent that will be added to this group that was only a few plays aways from playing for another Lombardi.

Fool's gold or not, there are plenty of positives to take away from this game. Obviously this was not a good Rams roster, so this win does not indicate in any way that the Packers are ready to make a playoff run or anything like that.

What it does indicate is this team still has life in them, and they are still in the process of growing.

There was a Sean Rhyan sighting, and a quality one at that.

We got our first (of many, hopefully) Luke Musgrave TD.

Jordan Love didn't look perfect, but he certainly looked like he took a step in the right direction.

Joe Barry's Sul-less defense looked... good. Maybe Gute and company saw something in Valentine that made them comfortable sending Douglas to Buffalo.

All after Matt LaFleur finally decided to shake things up... We have to enjoy these wins in a tough growth season for the youngest roster in the league.

Now can they go to Pittsburgh and steal a win from the Steelers?

You all reached for the panic button when you saw Love go down. Now we can step back and exhale a little bit, knowing Love should be back sooner than later. Losing a game by one point opens the door for a lot of "if this, then that" talk. Are frustrations with Joe Barry and AJ Dillon valid? Yes.

Do other factors need to be considered when trying to understand how the Packers lost to Atlanta? Absolutely.

If Alexander and Walker come up with interceptions, we are probably praising Barry today for doing enough to win. If Jones is in the lineup, we are probably celebrating a win because he would've been able to keep those drives going late in the game.

When you have the youngest roster in the NFL there are going to be a lot of learning moments. The fact that they were in position to be 2-0 after not having some of their key players available speaks to the potential of this team.

Losing is never fun, but Packers fans don't need to panic after this one.

There are plenty of reasons to be optimistic that the Packers will turn it around in the home opener against the Saints.

Jeff Hafley appears to have a very different philosophy than Joe Barry in almost every way he can. This new defensive staff appears to be a press man CB's dream. One thing seems certain, the aggression level is going up. With the offense looking primed to continue the success they found in the second half of 2023, if the defense can improve, even in the slightest, this team may be headed for a Super Bowl next season. If that sounds crazy to you, then consider us the leaders of the nut house. 

One thing we can all agree on right now, it's nice to have an offseason without major drama brewing in Green Bay.

While most Packers fans are waiting with a short fuse to have a reason to want to see Joe Barry fired, the defense was the strength of the team on Sunday against the Saints. Credit where credit is due, Joe Barry and the defense overcame adversity of their own playing without key players, and kept the game within reach for the offense. We all knew good complimentary football would be necessary to overcome growing pains this season. The win over the Saints was a microcosm of that.

Jordan Love wasn't perfect, but he didn't have to be. He demonstrated the ability to put this team on his back and do what it takes to get the win. There aren't many teams overcoming a 17-0 deficit in the 4th quarter to find a way to win.

Enjoy this, Packers fans. The Vikings are winless, the Bears are actually broken, and we're watching the next era of Packers football grow before our eyes. Go Pack Go!

There were certainly noteworthy performances in the final preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, but no real surprises. With the initial-53 roster now set - and still ever-changing - we dive into our reactions.

What were the surprises? What are we most excited about?  What still has our attention the most?

We're breaking down the draft prospects position-by-position leading up to the draft. Starting with Edge Rushers / OLB and OT day-1 potential fits at 25. We are going to give you a few guys at each position that we think are the most likely to be available and a fit for the Packers.

With a stunning loss to what we thought was the worst team in the league, Packers fans are doing a lot of soul-searching, which tends to manifest itself on Twitter as angry pitchforks demanding people get fired. This week's loss was bad, but with a game against the hated Minnesota Vikings at home on Sunday, things could very quickly hit rock bottom for Matt LaFleur and your 2023 Green Bay Packers.

Matt LaFleur and his staff deserve a standing ovation for having this team ready for Week-1 in all phases. Were they perfect? No, but they didn't need to be perfect to demonstrate some of the potential this talented roster has. 

LaFleur had Love and that offense looking sharp, even without one of their biggest weapons - Christian Watson. 

Bisaccia had his rookie kicker and punter looking like seasoned vets. The return games showed promise, and the coverage units were solid. Bisaccia has taken what was a historically bad special teams unit two seasons ago, and turned it into what now looks like a strength of this team. 

Joe Barry seems to have done the impossible, and evolved into an effective DC. Not only did the scheme look effective against the Bears, the players looked absolutely fired up and dialed in. There was a lot to be excited about from this defense. Now... can they show that consistently throughout the season? 

Overall, credit to Matt LaFleur for having his staff aligned, and having this team prepared to win by 18 points over the Bears in Chicago. The MLF for COTY campaign has officially begun!

"When all the laughter dies in sorrow…” While the end of the Packers season is not as fraught as the Lance Rentzel memoir, it certainly stung. But why? Green Bay was playing with the proverbial “house money,” was it not? The post-season was a surprise gift, right? So, shouldn't this one be easily set aside as just a learning experience on the way to certain improvement next season and a string of playoff appearances thereafter? Like many Packers fans, Chris and Dave struggle with accepting the loss in that manner, knowing that the Niners game — and another appearance in the NFC Championship Game — was there for the taking…and that the future is far from certain.

PROGRAMMING NOTE: Chris and Dave plan to do a “Season Wrap” pod in a few weeks. The boys are tentatively scheduled to record that one the week after the Super Bowl, so look for it sometime after February 15.
